电母/Dianmu (Chinese: 電���; pinyin: Diànmǔ; lit. 'Mother of Lightning'), also known as Leizi, is the Chinese goddess of lightning, who is said to have used flashing mirrors to send bolts of lightning across the sky.

She is married to Leigong/雷公, the god of thunder. She is one of the gods who work together to produce the phenomena of thunder. Other companions are Yun Tong (Yún Tóng, 云童, lit. the "Cloud Youth/Kid"), who whips up clouds, and Yu Shi/雨师 ("Rain Master") who causes downpours by dipping his sword into a pot. Roaring winds rush forth from a type of goatskin bag manipulated by Fengbo/风伯 ("Earl of Wind/Wind Uncle"), who was later transformed into Feng Po Po ("Old Lady Wind").

Legend

Dianmu was once a human, who lived with her mother. One day, she was dumping rice husks, because they were too hard for her mother to eat. When the short-tempered thunder god Leigong saw her dumping the husks out, he thought she was wasting food, so he killed her. When the Jade Emperor found out, he was infuriated at Leigong's careless murder. The Jade Emperor revived Dianmu, making her a goddess. Dianmu was made to marry Leigong, who took on the responsibility of caring for her. Dianmu's job is now to work with Lei Gong. She uses mirrors to shine light on the Earth, so Leigong can see who he hits and makes sure they aren't innocent. This is why lightning comes before thunder.

In other depictions

Dianmu also appears in Wu Cheng'en's late 16th-century novel, the Journey to the West; she appears during the events of the Slow Cart Kingdom (車遲國, Chechi), where three 'Animal Strength/Power Immortals', "Tiger Strength", "Deer/Elk Strength" and "Goat/Antelope Strength", three demons who disguised themselves as Taoist magicians to deceive the King of the Kingdom of Chechi, by means of having ended a seemingly-endless drought through the means of a legitimate magic tablet that can control the weather by summoning gods in control of various aspects of the weather, including Dianmu, accompanied by Yún Tóng (云童, lit. the "Cloud Youth"). Once Sun Wukong interrupts the summons, Dianmu and her fellow weather deities help the Buddhists instead of the demons in their rain-making competition.

Two black curtains reach the top of the studio, neatly isolating the shooting area from the surroundings. You have to go through the maze-like curtains to get to the core of the small space. Pure white, too much air conditioning, and the high-frequency and continuous camera shutter sounds. Xiao Zhan wears all black clothes and rarely makes unnecessary movements. Born in Sidney, Yeldham studied in the United States, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has exhibited mostly in Australia and China and his work is a part of international private, public and corporate collections including the Australian Stock Exchange and The University of Wollongong. For one period of his life, Yeldham was a very successful filmmaker. For his film Frailejón (1993), he has won a Student Emmy Award, been nominated for a Student Oscar and been a finalist in the Wynne, Sulman and Archibald prizes. His early childhood influenced and directed the rest of his life. When he was eight, Yeldham was sent to the boarding school, far away from home, where he was confronted with everyday bullying. A small and sensitive boy was not popular among friends and teachers. But vestiges of his childhood helped him to create his own world of art. He started to live in fantasy, painting and drawing products of his imagination.

Don’t believe portrayal of Chinese food in Shang Simla world because Shang Simla is American Chinatown from Western perspective which the food portrayal in that World is Westernized Chinese, not authentic, wrong to us Chinese and general Asian Sims players. There is no such thing as Fortune Cookies in Chinese cuisine. Fortune cookies are American product 100%. 

Chinese cuisine is the most oldest and diverse cuisine in the world, including noodles, which was first recorded invented in China from 4,000 years ago, has been existed until modern times.  

There are so many dishes in China, because due to many regions and provinces, I cannot include all of them here. I released list of my favourite dishes, which are prominent to Southern China region. Yanwo tang (Swallow bird’s nest soup) is the most expensive one because it provides health benefits: high levels of calcium, iron, potassium, and magnesium.

I've been trying to find some additional information on the guys who are making WMMAP's donghua. Here's some of my finds!

Director: Zhang Yingying (张盈盈). Very difficult person to find information about. They doesn't seem to have a Weibo profile (otherwise, Kuaikan would've @ them). Tried to search their name on the searchbar and nothing. Writing 张盈盈 + 魔法公主的小烦恼 also didn't lead me anywhere. Writing 张盈盈 anime on the google search led me to this website, where it shows they've worked on The King's Avatar's storyboard and direction.

Another Zhang Yingying with ties to the animation industry is the director of photography to Vanitas no Carte and Mob Psycho, but they're probably not the same person, since the chinese characters for their names are different (张盈盈 and 張 盈穎).

Apocalypse Now Film Essay (1979)

"My movie is not about Vietnam... my movie is Vietnam."- Francis Coppola

Apocalypse Now is a film directed by the visionary Francis Ford Coppola, a film where all his touches are evident throughout the nearly 2 hour long film. A wild journey throughout a Heart of Darkness inspired Vietnam centered follow. A film that still stands the test of time, still shocking audiences today. Drawing it’s sources and inspiration from Joseph Conrad’s themes of imperialism and moral questioning converted from the Congo imperialism to the contemporary period of post Vietnam War, Francis Coppola set the stage for a film that depicts the moral corruption and ambiguity of the soldiers within the forefront of hell. By adapting Conrad's story to the Vietnam War, Coppola draws parallels between the imperialist ambitions of the 19th century and America's intervention in Vietnam. The film's exploration of the psychological and moral descent of its characters mirrors Conrad's themes of imperialism and the darkness within the human soul.

Upon it’s release Coppola’s film had received widespread critical acclaim along with mixed reception. Critic’s dismissing the film’s lengthy run time and more challenging narrative structure deter the audience.Along with criticisms for it’s contents, glorifying war more than criticizing it. The film doesn’t work enough as an anti-war message and more as a film following a cast of representatives thrown into chaotic situations. In Time magazine when the film first debuted, Frank Rich derided the film as "not so much an epic account of a grueling war as an incongruous, extravagant monument to artistic self-defeat". In comparison to reviews applauding and reveling in it’s philosophical story structure with stunning hallucinogenic visuals that captivate audiences. While Apocalypse Now follows a linear story structure with typical traditional character arcs from war set films. Due to The editing production of Richard Marks along with direction of Francis Ford Coppola and lastly Sound designer Walter Murch. The meticulously crafted film pacing and narrative structure, along with the usage of advanced editing techniques, the film seamlessly integrates surreal and hallucinatory sequences with the film's gritty realism. The incorporation of elements of surrealism and symbolism help to convey the psychological and moral descent of its characters. Dreamlike sequences and symbolic motifs blur the line between reality and illusion, inviting viewers to interpret the film's deeper meanings.

The film contrasts these structures with the utilization of surreal psychedelic visual cinematography, separating the piece from most traditional war films. Garnering a $118,558 upon it’s domestic opening and then eventually accumulating a $104,800 for it’s gross worldwide income. Proving to be a lucrative investment, using it’s $31,500,000 to it’s fullest. having multiple re-releases in theaters and home video formats over the years, further helped bolster its financial success. Now standing as one of the most iconic war films, Apocalypse Now lingers with a legacy of high regard. 

Apocalypse Now benefited from advancements in filmmaking technology, allowing Coppola to create epic and visually stunning scenes. Utilizing the skill sets of director of photography Vittorio Storaro. Employing his innovative techniques to capture the film's surreal and epic visuals. With a combination of natural lighting and dynamic camera movements to create a visually striking atmosphere, contributed to the film's immersive portrayal of war. However, these technological feats also came with challenges, such as the logistical difficulties of filming in remote locations and Coppola's infamous struggles with budget overruns and production delays.

As we navigate the moral abyss alongside Captain Willard and confront the haunting monologue of Colonel Kurtz. Through its epic scale and visceral imagery. Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece captivates audiences with its exploration of the human psyche amidst the chaos of war.
