Oni!Kafka

A thought for a different idea that quickly became its own thing. Thus this very page as I rather keep stuff like this separate. Other species swaps might also get their own info posts. Let's get started.

All it takes is a gift bottle of mysterious booze on a 30th birthday party to turn Kafka Hibino's life upside down. In a world dealing with kaiju, discoveries like magic being real are still plausible. Or in this case: curses.

Thanks to cursed liquor, Kafka has become a Liquor Devil that rightfully earned the title of Oni for how disastrous his first night was. A 10 ft aqua blue scaled beast with chimeric traits like long teal curved back horns, caracal ears, long tongue with harmless(to humans) cat papillae, sharp clawed fingers, teal hoofed tiger legs, black bat wings, teal lancehead viper for a tail and finally thick obsidian fur covering his lower legs/upper back/wrists/chest. (He still retains the dad bod but has extra muscle.)

Oni!Kafka is venomous with two types of poisons he can wield. The one in his claws act akin to Cane Toad venom which causes hallucinations and an almost drunken state within victims. It's the tail that needs to be avoided as the fangs of the snake hold Golden Lancehead Viper venom.

Oni!Kafka runs pretty hot in temperature so it isn't uncommon for cold blooded animals or those seeking warmth to flock to him. Well his tail does need a warmer since it's the only part that's cold blooded. Otherwise he's warm blooded in nature.

When it comes to Oni!Kafka, you can say the himbo's manchild nature has ramped up. It's very easy to grab his attention. Anything that interests the human side like food, drinks, playthings, etc will work very well on the devil half.

What really gets Oni!Kafka's attention is anything with nostalgic value. Even if it's an old childhood friend that he lost contact with. Best be careful as the Liquor Devil will kidnap or steal his current interest(much to the human half's embarrassment.) *looks at KafMina enthusiasts specifically*

Oni!Kafka loves to play with willing playmates. He usually chooses children games like tag as not everyone is super strong like him. If they are then roughhousing will be something the devil will request instead.

Despite being venomous and intimidating, Oni!Kafka is quite friendly in nature. Best not to interrupt his games or cheat at them. That's one of the few fastest ways to garner the demon's fury other than harming his treasure and stealing from him.

Kafka's tail has a mind of its own, usually responding to the name Hissy. This serpent is a tsundere that doesn't let just anyone touch it nor easily show they like pride and affection. The viper won't bite a nonthreat but will head bump or slap them instead.

Anything Kafka likes is added to his 'hoard'. It doesn't matter whether it's objects or people as all of it are considered treasure to him. Both forms are possessive with the devil side being the most.

Kafka has to drink a special elixir on a bi-weekly basis in order to live a normal life. There are times where he's required to transform and thus kept busy by his companions. Also he has to be very careful around alcohol.

Due to being a Liquor Devil, a certain amount of booze will trigger his transformation into Oni!Kafka. It takes severe exhaustion or another elixir for him to revert back to human form. He suffers a major hangover afterwards as transforming can be compared to being heavily intoxicated.

Oni!Kafka sheds on a daily basis but does molt three times a year. If it's the latter case then he's stuck like that until the process is over. The devil is extra moody and irritable during this period so ice cream, movies, or light alcoholic drinks help keep him content.

Oni!Kafka's wings are a bit ticklish thus it's quite easy to get the fella laughing hard. Absolutely loves himself some chin and behind the ear scratches. Guaranteed to get the big guy purring very loudly within seconds.

The Monster Sweepers had some difficulty dealing with Oni!Kafka on the first. Partly because they were freaking out especially Toku as he gave his friend the bottle in the first place. It was a huge relief to know their coworker is still the same albeit more childish.

The apartment got wrecked because Oni!Kafka wanted to play tag and the place was obviously too small. Board games were too boring while his fingers weren't suited for normal video game controllers. It took a few hours of insane tag to exhaust the demon.

Finding the recipe needed for the special elixir obviously took time. Medicine to help with hangovers did suppress some of Kafka's demon side leaving him in a half state. It took going to an occult store to find a few ingredients for their concoction.

On some occasions, Kafka will become his demon form if hungry enough. He has a preference for meat and often hunts kaiju to satisfy his hunger. The man requires enough food to feed an adult family of five to sustain himself.

Meals heavy in fat and sugar reduces the amount he needs to eat though. Food cooked with alcohol also helps but Kafka has to make sure it's diluted. Signs of a transformation about to occur are the same as someone getting drunk.

Increased talkativeness, boost in confidence, etc. The only inhuman warnings are the appearance of bumps on the forehead/back/tail bone, skin greying, and extra hair. Rice water or foods that help with hangovers can reverse these symptoms if caught quickly.

Only permanent visible change to Kafka's human form is his teeth are now Oni-like fangs. The other alteration involves the man's liver becoming immune to the harmful effects of alcohol. In fact liquor provides extra nutrients and even an adrenaline boost during high stress situations for him instead.

Oni!Kafka is semi-nocturnal so he's prone to sleep during the daytime when there's no work to do. He either sleeps in a loaf like a cat, curled up, or if possible upside down akin to a bat. Only sleeps on his back should a friend/family/mate wants to rest atop of him. He's a cuddler otherwise when sleeping next to someone.

If my brain lets me then expect a drawing of him. Other than the crossover idea, there would most likely be two more ideas with him. Amongst them is one where someone else gets Kaiju No. 8 instead and Kafka is only a devil.

If you are wondering, there isn't a demon based on alcohol sadly. Believe me I checked so Kafka is mostly his own thing with an Oni basis at the core. Want to a crack at your own version then go ahead.

OKAY! It’s time for the Chimera Baby Lore Post!!

🌼 How did you come up with the OC's name?

In both a meta and non-meta sense, Chimera Baby’s name is probably the most notable part about them. The name Chimera Baby is a reference to m-flo and LiSA’s Tripod Baby, ft in the game Shadow the Hedgehog. For over 6 months that was her official non-official name, as I couldn’t decide on a name for her. I received over 15 name suggestions, but in July I ran a poll at which point she was dubbed Mira!

As it turns out, Mira happens to be the name of a binary star system. Two stars in a dance doomed to end in supernova—rather fitting for a chimera character, wouldn’t you say? I like to imagine Shadow was the one to name Mira something meaningful and space-themed like that, meanwhile Sonic named the other child something totally arbitrary (“His name is Mochi because he's white lol”)

On that note, I’ve also decided Sonic calls Mira “Chili” exclusively, because its silly and he would. So Mira, Chimera Baby, CB, and Chili are all names she goes by!

🌸 How old are they? (Or approximate age range)

I like to depict them anywhere from baby to teenager, but in their most recent incarnation I’d say they’re somewhere between 15-17

💖 Do they have any love interest(s)?

At the moment no. She’s generally too aloof and off putting for anyone to approach her with romantic intent, but maybe in the future….

Besides combat training, CB enjoys the occasional outdoor activity. Sometimes her friends goad her into a game of soccer (which she is an absolute beast at), but she generally prefers solo sports such as archery, rock climbing, or hiking. Sometimes her brother convinces her to fish with him, but she finds it pretty boring (but would never turn him down)

💃 What do they do best?

Mira excels at hand-to-hand combat. As the reigning champion of Chao Karate, Mira takes their martial arts training very seriously. They also possess exemplary control over chaos energy, and incorporates this into their technique. While they may not be as fast as their fathers, they make up for it with not just raw power, but an extremely disciplined technique.

Her skills also happen to make her an amazing breakdancer, but she’ll break your face if you ask her to demonstrate.

☀️ What is one of your OC's best memories?

A tie between making her baby brother laugh for the first time and the time she drew first blood for the first time in a fight with Shadow

The aftermath of almost drowning as a child after she saved a chao friend.

Basically its a mix of me poking fun at the phenomena of Sonadow fan-children all looking kinda similar, and this plush reminding me of actual chimerism in animals and wanting to create a character with that characteristic! Over the months my ironic love for her has grown into genuine fondness—so while she remains primarily as a parody, she’s also a character I’m having fun exploring concepts with <3 Much like both Shadow and Sonic the Hedgehog, you can take her as seriously or not seriously as you wish!

One little brother Mochi—he is a perfect angel who is also her closest friend. She adores him, but you wouldn’t know from seeing them interact.

⚠️ What is the OC's relationship w/their parents like?

So I mentioned that Mira was reared in a chao garden, where her dads basically only visited once every couple days if not longer (Sonic and Shadow are not very attentive parents, go figure). However, this was honestly a perfectly fine arrangement as I headcanon mobian children don’t need the same level of parental contact as human children (Hell, Cream is kind of an outlier FOR having a present parental figure in her life).

That being said, I imagine Shadow spent more time with her when she was really young before stepping away, which made her really latch onto Shadow more than Sonic during that time. Especially seeing as Sonic is the most laissez-faire parent ever but simultaneously was the type to abandon her on a floating platform in midair with a trail of badniks so she can learn how to homing attack.

Much like her father before her, her latent Black Arms genes have caused her to develop a burning desire to destroy Shadow—a fact that Shadow seems strangely indifferent about. While this fact has pretty much wrecked their previous relationship, there are circumstances where Mira will put aside her goal and work with Shadow against a common enemy or towards a common objective (of course, this doesn’t stop her from trying to stab him in the back during these operations).

Her relationship with Sonic has remained mostly the same, with Sonic treating her much more like a friend or little sister than a daughter. They have lunch together at least once a month, and usually she’ll go to him for advice on any social interaction matter—conversations that have become much more frequent now that she’s begun to make friends.

💗 What do you like most about the OC?

I think I popped off with her design—chimerism is such an interesting concept and I loved balancing her two sets of genes without making it seem too busy. I also love her dynamic of trying to kill Shadow and how you would think her growing up in chao garden basically alone would have contributed to that, but that's not the case at all she’s just like that <3

‼️ Who is your OC's arch-nemesis or rival?

Shadow the Hedgehog is her self-proclaimed nemesis, but she makes a fair share of enemies and rivals wherever she goes due to her punch-first-ask-questions-later attitude. One notable rival is another OC of mine named Sauvik the Badger—another cold and brooding anti-hero much like her. Sauvik and Mochi are something of a team, but being a protective big sister she wants him to stay away from her brother. This generally leads to a fight that Mochi is inevitably forced to break up.

I just want to say first off today was kinda blehhhh and your art with Kat and Lyrane and all the shenanigans with her dads and uncles (especially her dad keeping her original arms) really made me laugh and brought the serotonin levels back up Your art's an amazing and wonderful contribution to 40k fandom so keep it up! Also one lore question. Is Lyrane's chapter a BA successor? Part of me thinks their a later founding Iron Hands chapter, like 3rd or 4th founding, descended from the Red Talons.... Lyrane's chapter lore is a mystery even to me 💀 I always imagined them having a chimeric geneseed. Maybe between Blood Angels and Iron Hands or something. They're up to reader interpretation tbh there's no set lore on their founding and they're a little weird anyway. They're just The Vermillion LancesTM and that's it really.

Does Kraw shave or does he just not grow facial hair?

As of right now he doesn’t grow facial hair, just his head/neck, armpits and pubic region. It’s more like fur really and his head hair is like a mane.

Who knows though, hypothetically he could even get feathers, like his dad. Chimereals are near impossible to gage in terms of gene expression and life stages.

It’s funny to picture him with a beard though. Maybe I’ll draw it lol

my first "elder scrolls phase" was completely isolated as a tween playing skyrim on my dad's computer. i found a super underbaked custom race mod that was literally just dunmer but red with forehead horns

they were just called "red elves" and the creator did not even write any lore for them. i made up some (i vividly remember learning about the chimer on skyrim fandom wiki) but it is ALL gone to me.

i just checked and the mod came out in 2012 on the steam workshop and upon closer inspection was made by the Son of the person who owns the steam account. it is the account's sole upload.

These are pretty much my ocs at this point

Gilvoth, Uthol and Voryn are full blood brothers (as i have it in Chimer culture it's very common to have open relationships/multiple partners. Especially if you are a part of one of the major houses, it was only after the Tribubal began their god hood that Dunmer began to practice monogamy as the tribunal kinda pushed it onto them)

Gilvoth is the eldest and Voryn the youngest between these bros (and to explain the symbols, i decided to have it that the symbols represent their magical abilities which i may explain in a different post)

Gilvoth is a gay man who has an unrequited crush on king Dumac, he also doesn't get along very well with Tureynul (why? Nobody knows anymore)

Uthol is Bisexual and has a dwemer gf named Tann, He's a big mamas boy similar to Voryn. He's terrified of Voryn at times

And Voryn, head of the Dagoth house, councilor and a spoiled lil kid with a crush on his best friend. Do NOT trust child Voryn with scissors if you value your hair.

They both come from a Chimer father (don't have any info on the dads yet so)

They're twins! I thought it'd be a cute idea to do so lolz

Both of them are very talkative, love throwing parties and are chubby boys!!

They both hail from a dwemer father who isn't really in their lives much (mainly due to distance + working under the previous King)

Tureynul isn't full blood related to any of the other bros, and somehow he's worse than Voryn at times. Very snobbish and uptight, kinda sour he didn't get picked to be the head of the family

He hails from a snow elf father! Which people are almost confused on how they're related since his dad is super sweet

Thought it'd be funni that Uthol just found him on the street and dragged him back home like 'can we keep him pls?'

this is actually nerevar! i have a hc he's part nord, with a chimer mom and nord dad. in my fic it's established nerevar's dad went back to skyrim to settle an inheritance dispute and uh. died. and after his mom found out nerevar was already like, 10. so she just up and left him in the care of his maternal uncle.

but i was thinking what if his dad hadn't died and he was raised in skyrim? he would be in the rift, bordering on the velothi mountains, only hearing about skyrim and seeing the stray cliff racer. after his dad dies for real this time his mother takes him to resdayn/morrowind

idk i just kinda like the idea of fur wearing, axe wielding, braids in his hair nerevar. in a lot of ways he'd be different and in others he'd be the same. definitely still hot tho (imagine voryn getting a look at him and immediately dropping everything in his hands to stare LMAO)

Found by the Whitebeard Pirates, joined and was apart of the crew for 2 years. Takes Whitebeard's last name after being accepted into his family, self proclaimed, and because she hates her real dad. An alternate universe where a hella more people live.

Erin is trying to navigate being in an anime and is failing her way up. How she managed to survive this long is by pure luck (she’s managed to survive 5 years). She’s trying to save characters from dying. She particularly close to Ace, they see each other as siblings nothing romantic. Eventually sees Luffy as her crackhead younger brother. Somehow she changes canon in weird ways.

Erin goes off with Ace for two years, remaining hidden and seemingly dead to the world.

After two years Erin and Ace meet with the Straw Hat Pirates under the personas Helios and Selene respectively; and join the Straw Hats.

She made note to collect any devil fruits she finds from characters who die or find. So far she’s collected:

Type: Mythical Zoan

This fruit enables the user to turn into a kirin—a legendary hooved chimerical creature, and a human-kirin hybrid. As mentioned, the kirin is a type of chimera (諸雜獣).

キメラ Kimera, literally meaning "Various Mixed Beast"), a mythical creature or monster comprised of parts taken from various animals. In this case, it has the the body of a horse, the horns of a deer, the head and tail of an eastern dragon as well.

In full Beast Form, the user transforms into a gold- furred and scaled kirin with a flowing white mane, growing to rival a house. Human-Beast Form is slightly larger in comparison and, in shape, comes closer to Human Form, with gold scales on the arms, torso, back, and legs well as horns on users head, equestrian-like ears, fur on the elbows and ankles, and a long tail.

Usage

Grants user immense physical abilities in terms of strength, speed, endurance, and defense in both hybrid and full beast form. As a mythical creature it makes the user much stronger than a normal Zoan (said to be able to be stronger than a dragon). While in hybrid or full beast form, the user gains the ability to control fire elements. As well as “fly” which is just walking on extremely thin clouds, the ability to walk on water/air, which allows for transportation without means of boat.

The user has a uncanny ability to judge whether a person is good or evil in addition to see through lies and deceit. The users attack also deals stronger damage towards an enemy judged “evil”.

The Kirin has the power to change fate at the cost of the health of the user.

In addition the user’s life span extends dramatically to at least over a thousand years.

Su had connections to Oden and Kaido. Now Arin has no idea how to live up to her name.

Various facts and scenarios about my boy Vanch that i probably didnt bring up in the first post + his pet mudcrab Kraben because hes super fun to think about and i just recovered from a migraine therefore i cannot sleep (gonna be a very long post yet again <3 my favorite)

-Everything Vanch says to anyone tends to come out sounding really mean. It is on purpose a decent amount of times, but its mostly just that he doesnt really know how to talk to people. This is because the way dwarves communicate with each other and the way they communicate with anyone else is completely different, and Vanch has never spoken to anyone other than another dwemer until he came back to Nirn.

-Its pretty much sheer dumb luck that he survived in the outer realms as long as he did, considering all the places he ended up in and especially since he was doing it all half blind. His life was in surprisingly less danger than people would normally be. Thats just how lost he was.

-He did not know of any races other than Dwemer, Falmer, Chimer, and Nord before coming back. He thinks Nords are dumb and annoying and is baffled by the fact that Nord women dont seem to grow beards anymore. Hes also surprised to learn about the Chimer-Dunmer change. He thinks beastfolk are objectively cooler than everyone else.

-His dad made him some sort of back brace since he was always super hunched over working on his tiny little things and it doubles as a chestplate and he finds it pretty comfortable so he pretty much always has it on.

-His mom was a tonal architect and his dad was a stonemason, specifically for putting all those designs all over the stones.

-Avanchnzel stores a lot of information, including various techniques that individual tonal architects come up with. There is a single recording of his mothers voice stored in a cube that he listens to regularly for comfort.

-There was a mushroom-based dish that his dad loved making to the point where Vanch got sick of it. Calcelmo discovers a set of recipes and makes that particular dish (being extremely meticulous about making it as accurate as possible) and it makes Vanch really emotional. He definitely doesnt hate it anymore.

-He never does remember his actual name. He just goes by Vanchnraldch now. He doesnt usually give people that full name though so pretty much everyone only knows him as Vanch.

-Hes scared of heights. One of the first bonding moments he has with Gelebor is when they were kinda just silently looking out over the vale at the balcony together and Vanch admits he wants to go home but he made the mistake of glancing down and he cant get himself to move because hes terrified so Gelebor walks him back to the wayshrine.

-Hes also deeply disturbed by much of the human body. He does not like thinking about the fact that people, including himself, have internal organs and veins and whatnot. It just grosses him out for some reason. Blood grosses him out too, and the entire notion of vomiting freaks him out really bad.

-Which is why he HATES Peryite. Its the only daedric prince that he actually despises. Everyone else he just thinks kinda sucks because, who cares, but Peryite personally pisses him off because of the condition Bthardamz is in. And he cant do anything about it because hes so intensely disgusted by it.

-He doesnt dislike Serana. He just doesnt feel any particular way towards her. Acquaintances, basically. After helping her defeat Harkon, shes designated as the leader of the Volkihar clan, and he doesnt really visit because, again, blood gross, but she does visit him occasionally and theyll hang out and do nothing for a while. They spend more time together way further down the line after Vanch starts outliving everyone else he loves. Then theyre friends.

-By "everyone he loves", i mean Calcelmo, Faleen, Viriya, and Aicantar, in that order. Gelebor is immortal and so is Serana and also Kraben, so theyre all he has left, at least until he eventually meets Yagrum Bagarn and Divayth Fyr. Vanch is in some weird state where hes technically >4,020 years old and yet hes only aged as if 20 years had passed as he had perceived while in the outer realms.

-Kraben is a mudcrab that he saved from a slaughterfish as a child that he named after Clan Kragen. It was on the very brink of death and Vanch replaced its heavily damaged carapace with dwarven metal. This does mean that Kraben is no longer able to grow or reproduce, but it also means its also functionally immortal. Vanch doesnt know if Kraben is male or female since you cant really tell with a mudcrab unless it reproduces or is dissected and Vanch is absolutely not ever going to kill Kraben.

-He can communicate telepathically with Kraben, not that Kraben has a very complex mind, but it is pretty impressive that he managed to figure out a way to do that. Imagine Kraben communicating exclusively with singular emojis. Thats the full extent of its thoughts. This also applies to Snippy, Viriyas mudcrab that he continued to take care of after her death, who he also fitted special antenna onto that Kraben has so they can better communicate.

-Snippy continues to grow to immense sizes. Realistically, any mudcrab that lives long enough wouldve eventually died from getting too big to be able to molt, but Vanch made a device specifically to help Snippy with molting as it grows. It will eventually reach a size where it cant sustain itself at all and will die one day, but at least it will have been the largest mudcrab ever to have existed on Nirn.

-Viriya is that npc from the anniversary edition of skyrim that adds fishing to the game. Shes a lot more eloquent in writing than speaking, which is fine for her and Vanch since Vanch loves to yap and Viriya loves to listen to him. They basically immediately bond over their love for mudcrabs and shes literally the only person hes ever met that actually likes mudcrabs at all. They just kinda gradually fall in love, which Vanch never anticipated to happen. Vanch outlives her since shes not a mer.

-Kraben is a little cannibalistic weirdo of a mudcrab. Its not super uncommon for mudcrabs to occasionally eat baby mudcrabs but Kraben seems to actively seek it out, much to Vanchs dismay. Kraben also gets jealous easily and fully intended on killing Snippy upon their first meeting and Vanch had to repeatedly tell Kraben NOT to kill Snippy. Kraben is generally untrusting and unfriendly with people, much like Vanch is. He always has to tell Kraben to be nice to people, to which Kraben always responds with "😒". Its also a spoiled little brat with how much Vanch had coddled it. It did sincerely miss him when he was gone for all that time, though.

-A few centuries later, after losing all his mortal loved ones, he becomes intolerable of other people for a good while and kicks everyone out of Markarth. Nobodys allowed in the city anymore eccept him. He does not reverse this even after he calms down. He gives himself the title of Dumac so even less people know his name. Theres just a bunch of automatons everywhere now. The first thing he does after doing that is removing the shrine to Molag Bal. If he ever goes out somewhere without Kraben, he leaves Kraben in charge since its basically his second-in-command and will be referred to as Krabenac in such cases. This is based on my headcanon that Dwemer names ending in -ac are actually more like titles that are taken on as names given to those in a position of power/leadership, since the -ac suffix would mean "ruler". Markarth is, of course, officially renamed to Nchuand-zel, and if anyone wants to enter they have to ask permission from whatever automatons are at the entrance and wait for them to communicate with Vanch, and he almost always denies them entry unless its Serana who has exclusive permission to come and go as she pleases. Outside of Nchuand-zel, though, he doesnt do anything to.

-As much as he would like to restore the rest of the dwarven ruins, he knows theres no purpose in doing so. He very slowly makes gradual progress, but ultimately it never happens. It hurts more knowing nobody else is there. He would at the very least like to get all of Peryites shit out of Bthardamz eventually. He also doesnt know what the hell is up with Kagrenzel.

-He does come across more aetherium in Blackreach but has no idea how to work with it.

-He is unfortunately a sufferer of migraines, at least one or two every month (yes im projecting). Sometimes they get so bad and that combined with his fear of dying makes him delirious and scared. Gelebor witnessed this once and helped him through it.

-He offers to fix up the Chantry for Gelebor. Gelebor is, reasonably, skeptical of accepting any sort of favor from him, still subconsciously paranoid about dwarves making offers... Vanch explains that hes offering this to repay Gelebor and that he isnt expecting anything from him. Gelebor doesnt get what he had ever done for Vanch to prompt this, turns out its companionship. Hes lonely and feels terrible about everything that happened and Gelebor is being surprisingly tolerant of him, so he wants to repay him. Plus they both have this "last of their kind" situation as a common ground.

-And thats based on a personal headcanon/theory or whatever that the whole "we do not ask for your thanks/gratitude for we do not believe in it" that the dwarves wrote in their thing with the snow elves was not them bullshitting but was, in fact, how they thought. This was limited to the dwarves of Skyrim, but basically there was no "thank you" for anything since that seems useless and empty. It was simply that if someone does you a favor then you owe them a favor and thats that. Its good enough that they accept the favor. So, to Vanch, the best way he could show appreciation for Gelebor being tolerant of him was fixing up the Chantry. And i say "tolerant" because Vanch severely underestimates how much Gelebor got to appreciating his company.

-Vanch does gradually learn how to properly thank people for things even though he still doesnt entirely get it, he just knows nobody else gets how the dwarves saw anything.

-He often feels like theres a thick layer of glass seperating himself from the world. A very big part of why the dwarves didnt like talking to other people very much is because they were telepathic (my headcanon of course) and a lot of how they communicated with each other is completely inaccessible to other races, which is also why their writing was often difficult to parse meaning from. So it was overall just a lot of exhausting work to figure out exactly how to word things and to figure out what the hell anyone else was trying to say as they often had trouble "reading between the lines" of what other people said. Vanch was at least already pretty talkative, but there are plenty of times where he gets too frustrated to bother with it. In fact, when he speaks to Yagrum, its conpletely different from how he speaks to anyone else. Otherwise, its ridiculously hard for him to figure out what other people are feeling and what theyre actually saying and its hard for people to figure out what hes feeling and what hes actually saying.

-Another headcanon that i know many people also have is that elves can move their ears to express themselves. The dwarves were not really like that, as they had significantly more control over their ear movements specifically as a function for their telepathy. Its how they directed their thoughts to each other, so Vanch is only slightly better at understanding another mers feelings just because theyre more obvious by default. This does, of course, mean that he always percieves Gelebor as being generally miserable, because Gelebor is significantly less expressive than most other people.

-Vanch doesnt like the aedra all that much either, but he at least gets better at holding his tongue about Auriel specifically since he knows how that matters to Gelebor. He doesnt ever really understand why, though. As far as he can tell, Auriel let all this terrible shit happen to the Falmer to begin with and is a jerk for making Gelebor have to bear through it for so long by himself. Yes, he is well aware of the part the dwarves played in this, but he thinks it wouldnt have happened if Auriel helped them against the Atmorans in the first place.

-Divayth Fyr learns about the news of a Dwemer that kicked everyone out of Markarth. By then, he did finally manage to find a core for Yagrums corprus, so its the perfect opportunity for the both of them to finally meet another dwarf. Yagrum periodically gets in similar depressive bouts that Vanch does with the whole total lack of telepathy going on with anyone. Vanch is extremely quick on going with Divayth to meet Yagrum, but along the way he starts getting really self conscious. Divayth tells him that Yagrum was a Master Crafter under Kagrenac, and by then Vanch knows about Kagrenac, so he starts feeling way out of his league. By all means, hes just some guy. He was never anything special and hes done so much without any guidance and he feels so lost all the time. So to meet someone with such a strong history, especially from a different dwemer culture, hes terrified that Yagrum wont even like him. He still goes, of course, hes just mentally spiraling the whole time on the way there. But Yagrum is more than happy to meet him, and he really likes the little models that Vanch makes. Hes honestly mostly just happy to meet anyone of his own kind again. Its a kind of relief he didnt even realize he was desperate for. Immediately Yagrum becomes a mentor for Vanch. He never did remember everything about his life before corprus, but he remembered enough that he was able to teach Vanch a lot of stuff. And he was even able to learn from Vanch, a bit of cultural exchange.

-Before Vanch meets Yagrum, other Snow elves had finally showed up at the Chantry. This of course immediately made Vanch feel incredibly out of place and also kinda jealous, and not wanting to accidentally complicate things with Gelebor and the rest of them, he doesnt visit again for a long time. This does just make Gelebor kinda worried instead. He does visit again after spending a lot of time with Yagrum.

-He makes some sort of flying beetle-looking thing specifically made to send letters to Gelebor and for Gelebor to send letters back.

-There is one Snow elf there that is as old, if not older, than Gelebor. Who very much does also remember what the dwarves did. He isnt hostile towards Vanch, but he is extremely suspicious of him. Vanch does his best to continue fixing up the Chantry, deciding its probably best bot to actively seek out approval in case it comes off as setting up for a favor, but he does want to prove that he isnt up to anything bad with his actions. Eventually, the Snow elf (i havent thought of a name for him yet, sorry. Id like to, but i dont think i have a good grasp on how snow elf names are constructed) decides, to everyones surprise, to offer Vanch some assistance with something. Its mostly as a test, but Vanch tells him about Bthardamz and Peryite, and the Snow elf agrees to assist him. Vanch actually insits that he doesnt so that because he doesnt want him to get sick or hurt or something. The Snow elf insits, however, so they leave together, but Vanch first gets Serana to help too. The three of them, with the Snow elfs magic, do manage to get rid of Peryites influence, and Vanch is absolutely dead set on getting back to Nchuand-zel first because hes so grossed out that he wants to take a shower immediately. Of course, this gives the Snow elf the worst thoughts, but he gives him the benefit of the doubt. Carefully, of course. Vanch really is sincerely worried about the guy getting hurt or sick or something. It mostly stems from the fact that he had to kill Vyrthur and he feels like if anything happened to this guy then Gelebor would lose his trust in him. They get back to the Chantry just fine.

-As much of a stuck up asshole that Vanch can be, he really does not like killing people at all. It makes him feel bad. His first experience with death was an aunt that died when he was 6, and he didnt really understand what "death" really was, but he did at least understand that it meant he would never see her again. It wasnt until he experienced some mudcrab deaths that he put two and two together and finally understood it. He never got why people killed each other so much.

-While Vanch is himself scared of dying, theres a part of him that wishes he had never left for the outer realms. He does have survivors guilt. Its worse since nobody knows what ended uo of the dwarves. If they did ascend somewhere or whatever, then hes missing out, but at least theyre probably fine. If they did really all just die, then its really messed up to think about. And if they were all just un-existed, then its just terrifying to think about. But he wonders, if they did ascend, what could possibly stop them from checking in on Nirn at all? Surely his parents wouldve noticed that he did not go with them. And the slightest possibility that they may be choosing not to is enough to make him selfishly and guiltily prefer that theyre all just gone for good. Ultimately he isnt sure what to feel. He at least wishes he couldve gotten back after his intended 10 years of exploring the outer realms. Of course, nobody has any way of knowing this, but the disappearance happened just a few years after he left, so even if he did come back when he meant to they all still wouldve been gone. He was doomed either way.

-He sometimes has extremely complex and abstract dreams that involve Numidium but he doesnt know what that is nor does he know what to make of the dreams and he often forgets them soon after waking up.

-He managed to recreate that potion that makes you look like a ghost and he actively messes with adventures that explore the dwemer ruins by pretending to be a ghost. He finds it fun how scared they all get. He finds it both stupid and amusing that dwarves are so often described in such a way that makes them seem like evil spooky boogeymen and he actively uses that knowledge to his advantage.

-He does a lot of verbal stims, the oddest one being that he just goes "meow" sometimes. Theres no reason for it, its just a good stim. He would never imitate a mudcrab for he does not think himself worthy.

-He has an inferiority complex when compared to literally any other dwarf and a superiority complex when it comes to literally everything and everyone else with very few exceptions. Ultimately, though, hes so obsessed with mudcrabs that he puts them way above even the Dwemer. Though, part of his obsession is a coping mechanism.

-He saved Septimus Signus from Hermaeus Mora by basically going "so youd rather listen to a deadric prince that an actual literal dwemer" and "how would the heart even be in here if we all disappeared after using it way over in that volcano" and he mostly did it to screw with Harmaeus Mora because he has no respect for the daedra. It was easier too since Septimus didnt question if Vanch even knew about the lockbox at all (he did not).

-Vanch checked out the College of Winterhold for some time and he helped Arniel with his experiment out of sheer curiosity... getting his hands on Keening gave him a really terrible idea that he actively supresses. Brelyna, Savos, and Urag were the only ones who suspected Vanch was actually a dwarf, since Vanch always wore a helmet to hide his face around people and most people wouldnt actually assume hes a dwarf even with the rest of his outfit.

-Vanch built a spider automaton as a child, as all dwemer children do, which he never named. He always just called it "my spider" and he built it with bigger claws like a mudcrab. He was very happy to see it still in working order. It helped Kraben get out of the room they were both stuck in and thats how Calcelmo and Aicantar found Kraben.

-Vanch and Aicantar became friends surprisingly quick, but it always disturbed him how eager Aicantar seemed to suggest killing people as a solution for a lot of things. He thinks him and Kraben wouldve gotten along well if they could communicate.

-Calcelmo was like an uncle to him and really cared about him. He felt the same aay for Faleen. Aicantar was like a brother to him. Vanch was an only child. Gelebor is also like a uncle to him, just a much older and more distant uncle.

-He is not afraid of bugs at all. He loves bugs. He can hold bugs in his hand very calmly. Its practically unheard of for a dwemer to not like bugs.

-He thinks that if he had been born in Vvardenfell instead of Skyrim, he may have been obsessed with scribs instead of mudcrabs. Kraben did not appreciate that idea.

-He does eventually get new glasses since his broke early on when he left to the outer realms.

-The first time he ever saw Gelebor outwardly express any amount of enjoyment was when Vanch was like "dude you look miserable, lets go do something fun" and convinces him to have a snowball fight. Gelebor has full advantage, naturally. It reminded him of when he used to play with Vyrthur when he was a child. He catches Vanch off guard and dumps a whole mound of snow on him and couldnt help but chuckle. Vanch couldnt even be annoyed because he was just glad to see Gelebor enjoy being alive for once.

-He and Aicantar discovered the statue of the Falmer and Mercer Frey showed up shortly after they did. Vanch kept him down by paralyzing him repeatedly while trying to get Aicantar to suggest literally anything other than killing the guy. Eventually they settle on dragging him all the way back to Markarth and figuring out what to do from there. Then along the way there Karliah shows up and explains that she can handle things from here.

-Falion claims to have met the dwemer, but it was actually just one and it was, in fact, Vanch, but the interaction in question was Vanch telling Falion to fuck off because he had a migraine and didnt realize he was talking to an actual person.

-Before Vanch returned to Nirn, Calcelmo finds a mechanical model of a bird in an excavation and puts it in a display since he had never found anything like it before. Vanch recognizes it since hes the one who made it. He made it for another guy who had recently had a child when he asked Vanch to make a bird for his kid because he liked birds. Vanch does not like thinking about that too much.

Satoshi Kamo who later takes the surname Itadori. Conceived in the culling games arc, miscarried, kept in a tube like the Death Paintings, later given physical form and raised by Yuuji (I'll battle canon if I have to). to their dismay, they look perfectly like a 50-50 copy of you and noritoshi. Despite the male name, they are genderless (miscarried before the sex organs were formed, so biologically female ig, but they aren't into the concept of gender) and swing wildly between pansexual and asexual. 'Satoshi' carries the same characters as 'Satoru', meaning 'wisdom, enlightenment, bodhi, clever', being named in his honour (Satoshi doesn't really like that tbh). Satoshi was blessed by Gojo while they were in the womb. As they were conceived and 'born' during the culling games, they have an insane amount of cursed energy, inherited both blood manipulation and distillation (chimeric soul), can do RCT, domain expansions, barriers and new shadow style techniques. They're one of the strongest sorcerers of the post-modern age, far bypassing their parents or siblings. They prefer alt/emo fashion, and really enjoy trying new foods with Yuuji. Even though they're a bit shy and reserved at first glance, they actually have a chibi sunshine personality. Satoshi, having been an incomplete foetus in a jar for a decade, really loves living life to the fullest. Fav food: anything new. will happily try weird food combos.

Naomi Kamo-Zenin, born at a time when reader and Kamo have left Shinjuku and are residing in France. They were unsure if they could go back to japan at this point of time, so they gave her a western-sounding name with japanese characters, meaning 'honest/direct/candid beauty'. technically their firstborn, since Satoshi was miscarried at birth. higher CE than younger siblings. inherited blood manipulation. She likes to go shopping with Chihiro, hates studying (weak at stem subjects), but good with people. She's been raised with the tacit expectation of leading the Kamo-Zenin Clan as the next head and takes it seriously. Looks more like you than Noritoshi even tho she has her dad's personality. Fluent in Japanese, English, French and Mandarin. Fav food: Slightly bitter things like dark chocolate and americanos.

Chihiro Kamo-Zenin, first child born back in Japan. his name means 'a thousand, generous, gentle, wise', with the character 'chi' = blood to represent the newly rebuilt Kamo-Zenin clan, tying them back to their old pure blood and of course, the esteemed blood manipulation technique that he also inherits, along with RCT. he was born at a time when his parents are doing their best to rebuild japan, and was raised by mostly nannies and Naomi in his early years. He's a shy young boy who likes to read books rather than go out, very obedient, intelligent and sensitive. His face is an exact copy of Noritoshi's. higher CE than younger siblings. The higher-ups want him to succeed as the clan head instead of his sister, even though he has no plans to do so. Vey close to Naomi. Fav food: anything dino-shaped.

Elder twin Asahito Kamo-Zenin, 'rising sun'. Younger twin Tsukiko Kamo-Zenin 'daughter of the moon', also named to honour Tsumiki. Megumi was staying with your family at the time of your difficult pregnancy with the twins. After their parents, he was the first person to hold them, and is very attached to both of them. the twins share both their (kinda low) CE and CT, i.e. at any point of time, only of them can use the Ten Shadows technique, which was a surprise to everyone including Megumi, who had to teach them how to control it. the twins are attached at the hip to each other, read each others minds, and do their best to be absolute menaces, being the only extroverts in the most introverted family. They haven't tamed anything other than the divine dogs yet. They mostly look like you but with their father's eyes. Fav food: Asahito likes crab platters and Tsukiko likes cold soba noodles.

Ariel can and has rewritten the function of time in order to be a nuisance (and to collect info for their dad and bestie/mom).

Zack is known as the "Hatred of the Deceived", because of how he always seems to know exactly when he's lied to and uses it against you in the worst way possible.

Kae is an alchemist who has figured out how to full stop create functional life from different pieces of it without it going chimerical.
