O-03-15-22: Childhood Friend [TETH]
The abnormality known as Childhood Friend appears to be a cat made of simple colored paper shapes. While initial observers might laugh at the simplistic nature of the entity, more observant agents will notice elements of fine craftsmanship such as the clean and sharpened edges of the abnormality. It appears as though it was made for a small child rather than by one.
Childhood Friend seems to take a keen interest in agents, especially newer employees and does its best to help them in their work. Due to the helpfulness of this abnormality, management has permitted it to follow employees outside of its containment chamber so long as both are supervised.
Once the abnormality bonds to an employee it becomes far less friendly to other employees.

this, for now — bc
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis. after 12 years, you reunite with your childhood best friend, chan, who comes back home from his idol life in korea.
pairing. childhoodfriend!chan x gn!reader
format. imagine
word count. 1.5k
a/n. this could also be seen as platonic...i believe. there’s nothing explicitly romantic, just two very close old friends yearning for each other. kind of bittersweet, too.
Tumblr media
"do you remember when we'd go here after school?"
it’s maybe a few minutes before sunset and you’re walking around your old childhood neighborhood with someone you never thought would see again this soon: chan, your old childhood friend. the streets are painted a strange tone of nostalgia; it’s like you’re walking through hazy memories, dream-like and familiar. sometimes, you’ll spot a house or a street corner that sends you back to your 13-year-old self so strongly, you feel as if you’ve shifted to the past. but then, you look to your left and you see chan, who has so obviously grown up, and you remember all the time that has passed.
he’s grown taller, of course, with broader shoulders and bigger arms. he’s lost most of his baby fat in his face—his jawline is much more apparent, as are all of the sharp angles in his features. you can almost barely recognize him. almost, because you don’t think you could ever forget the little things in chan’s appearance that make him who he is. he smiles and there's something about it that makes you ache—there’s your old best friend again, happy and smiley.
.
.
chan’s pointing to a convenience store up ahead when he asks his question. the storefront hasn't changed a bit——still displaying its ice cream cooler next to the front entrance, its 3-for-1 cough drop deal, and its blue and yellow ATM. you could find your way through the aisles in your sleep, despite the 12 years that have passed since the last time you and chan slipped in, exhausted after a long school day, and left with candy and soft drinks. sometimes, you'd spend the afternoon at the nearby park, the sun on your face and the grass under your thighs as you complained about your teachers and took turns trying to catch m&m's in your mouths. other times, you'd head straight to chan's house and play games in his living room, even staying for dinner.
"of course, i remember," you tell him. “it hasn’t been that long.”
maybe 12 years isn’t that long. maybe it is. it feels long, that you know for sure.
in those past 12 years, you've watched chan move to seoul and follow his dream of becoming an idol, growing more talented and more mature with each comeback photo and video that pops up on your social media. in between your busy days, you could only catch glimpses of his rapidly-evolving career and his sudden rise to stardom. with each stray kids photo you saw, the chan you knew so intimately appeared to turn more and more into a stranger. the boy from your childhood grew into a man and you weren't even there to see it.
but he returns to australia after all these years and he smiles at you and suddenly, he's the same 13-year-old who swore, pinky interlocked with yours, that he'd never stop being your best friend. he was chris again.
and you tried. of course, you tried to keep in touch. he cried in your arms before he left for the airport and promised to call you every day. but being a trainee was busy and being an idol was busier and you had to grow up and move to college and find your own future too, so, after a while, his daily calls became weekly, then monthly, then a rarity. you learned more about his life through stray kids youtube videos than you did through his own words. and you were so happy for him, of course. but you missed him so fucking much.
“do you remember all of our sleepovers?” you ask, praying he does.
please remember us. please remember me. please tell me i still have a place in your life.
he doesn’t even take a moment to think: “yes, yes i do.” he’s grinning now. “we’d basically live out of each other’s houses for a week, just: school, your house, games, dinner, sleep, wake up, school, my house, listen to music, dinner, sleep. god, that was fun.”
“remember hannah would always say—”
“that you were basically her other sibling?” chan finishes with a laugh. “yeah, i think she saw you and me together more than she saw just me alone sometimes.”
you laugh with him. “she said she couldn’t imagine anything pulling us apart.”
“yeah,” chan concedes. “i couldn’t imagine anything either.”
the both of you fall into a sudden silence that’s tinted with an awkwardness that would’ve never existed when you were both 13 and inseparable. it’s a silence of grief, mourning the past determination to stay best friends forever and never leave each other’s sides. during those sleepovers, you’d brainstorm the rest of your lives together—how you’d live in the same dorm in college, then get an apartment together, adopt a dog, and grow up side-by-side.
was it foolish that you believed in it? was it always just wishful thinking? over those years spent apart, you’d ponder what could’ve been—what your life would look like if chan never moved. it was always bittersweet and you found yourself longing too much so you decided to stop. there’s no point in thinking about what could’ve been—it isn’t, so just focus on what is. and ‘what is’ is a life where chan lives across the ocean and you’re creating your own separate worlds. the too-harsh reality.
"god, you have no idea how much i missed this," chan admits with a sigh, looking up to the sky that was slowly turning shades of pink and orange.
you offer a chuckle. “yeah, it’s nice to be home, i guess.”
"no, no," he begins. "well, yes—i missed my family like crazy, like you wouldn’t believe—but i’m talking about this." he gestures to the both of you. "us. i missed us."
"oh.” somehow, you weren’t expecting that. “well, someone moved away," you say with feigned accusation.
he lets out a laugh. "i did, didn't i?” he thinks for a moment. “i don't regret it. i love my boys, i love our fans, i love what we're doing. i just…i miss you,” he says, plain and simple. “and i wish there was some way that i could've had it all. you're the one thing that's missing from my life.”
during the times you pondered what could’ve been, you always came to the conclusion that you were the only one thinking about it, that chan had forgotten you. it hurt a bit, but you thought it was the best way to see it if you wanted to move on from the past.
but this—you're the one thing that's missing from my life. fuck. you didn’t even realize how much you had been aching to hear that chan still thinks about you. fuck, how can you move on?
"i wish you could've had it all, too. i miss you. so fucking much.”
he sighs. "and there's no way for you to somehow have the urge to relocate to seoul?"
you laugh. "i want to, believe me when i say that. but..."
he nods. "but."
"i have a life, too, you know. a job. friends. i can't just leave."
"i know, i know. i just—"
"me too." you offer a sad smile. "me too."
the sky turns pinker as the sun sets. the neighborhood grows dimmer.
“so what now?” chan asks.
“what do you mean?”
“i miss you, you miss me, what are we supposed to do now?”
“is there anything we can do?” from the way his expression falls, you can tell he was hoping for a more optimistic answer. “we’ve spent so long cultivating these lives exclusive of each other, is there any way to weave one another into them?”
“you could move to seoul…”
“i can’t.”
“i could move back—”
“you won’t.”
“i could—”
“no, you couldn’t. and you won’t. i know you won’t and you know i won’t let you.”
“i know.” he sighs. “i know.”
“i think this is all we can have.”
“this?”
“this—you and me, coincidentally back home at the same time for a few days, reminiscing for a bit, then parting ways again.”
he nods, reluctantly agreeing because it’s true, as unfortunate as it is. “for now,” he adds optimistically. “maybe, one day, we can figure it out.”
“maybe,” you say, not thinking you’d believe it. but as you say it, maybe foolishly, you find a little hope.
“i’ll take it. i’ll take what i can have. i’ll have this, for now.”
he offers a smile and who are you to not give him one back?

Yandere!!childhood friend! x reader
(Warning implied murder)
He was always the loner who never played with anyone and he had lost all hope of making friends but that was until you came along.
When you had decided to play with him he was a blushing mess and stuttered a lot.
Pretty soon you had to go home and he was pretty sad but luckily both your parents saw how you two played together and organized a ton of play dates.
As time passed you two became really close and became best friends.
His feelings only got stronger to the point where he wakes up and goes to sleep with only you on his mind wishing that you where his.
He would blush furiously if you give him any form of affection and hid his face.
When the two of you went to high school he refused to make any other friends because he was so utterly devoted to you.
You on the other hand made a ton of new friends and you became a bit distant.
Your yandere was furious and hurt so he got rid of all his competition in gruesome ways but if he has to end someone's life for you so be it.
When he finally confesses to you it will be by the park where you first met.
If you say yes he will literally jump for joy and cry tears of joy.
But if you say no he will either knock you out and take you away with him , murder everyone your close to so you will only have you or do a little of both.
But just know that you cant leave him your like a shining light to him and he wont go back to living in the dark.

☁️Danganronpa: Shuichi Saihara x childhood friend reader headcanons☁️
Tumblr media
You and Shuichi have been friends for as long as you both can remember.
No matter what happened you two stuck through it all together, Shuichi couldn't even imagine leaving your side for a second.
Before the events of Danganronpa V3 take place, you know about Shuichi's love obsession with Danganronpa.
Whether you were just as devoted as he was or if you even disliked the series, none of that stopped him from imagining the two of you in Danganronpa. He imagined your executions, your free time events, everything he could've possibly put you both through.
The thrill of seeing your death, or you seeing his..., it sent chills down his spine in the best way possible.
Now he gets sick even thinking about it...
He was mortified when he got to Hopes Peak Academy, but even more so when he saw you there.
As soon as he heard the rules..., the terrible things Monokuma demanded everyone do in this sick game.., he was instantly more protective of you.
Although his confidence was lacking, he always stuck by you, watching the others carefully when they even got near you.
He hated being this paranoid..., but he loved you, and he'll be damned if he lets anything happen to you!
You're his main motivation when getting through the trials, and on nights when he's feeling particularly depressed, he'll replay his favorite childhood memories of you in his mind.
He really loves you.

Speak Now Part 2 (Eddie Munson AU)
It took me a bit but I think I'm happy with this. I may come back to it and change a bit but I'm proud of it so far :)
Enjoy 🩷
Read Part 1 here
Word Count: 1.4k
***
Maybe...
The courtyard was damp as if it had been raining, the long flowers scraped wet marks across your legs. Why did you come? You didn’t feel 100% well this morning, you could've called in sick to work. You didn't have to give in to the urge to go and see what was going on next door, you could've stayed at work and organised the cutlery. Every possible thing you could've done to stop this feeling was reeling through your mind, but your heart felt empty. Eddie hadn’t been yours for years. You hadn’t spoken in that time since your mums wedding but the realisation that there would be no hope in the future was tearing you apart.
***
“Show me the dress.” Your front door opened and your mom’s voice shouted through the hallway. “I need to see what you bought.”
Her face lit up at the sight of it. She hasn't even seen you in it yet. She held it up in front of her admiring it again. The tag poked out and your step dad, Derek, took a look.
His face dropped. “Y/N, that is more than we agreed.”
“How much was it?” your mom turned the dress to see the tag, the material rustling loudly. “80$! You got it on sale right?”
“No but...”
“Sweetie, its gorgeous, and I'm sure it's gorgeous on you but we just can't afford that much. Where did you even get that kind of money?”
“I used the money you gave me and...Eddie lent me the rest.”
“Your boyfriend bought this for you?” Derek spat and it made your blood boil.
“He’s not my boyfriend!”
Your mom put her hand on Derek’s shoulder to get his attention. “He’s a friend, they’ve been friends for years. “
“No guy is buying dresses like that for his friends.”
He was wrong. But you didn’t argue because this wasn’t about you.
“That was nice of him, sweetie. But the dress will have to go back.”
***
“Y/N” a voice shouted behind you, but you didn’t stop. Where you were going you didn’t know, just away from this. This wedding, this church, the hope you had that one day Eddie would turn up at your apartment.
You stopped suddenly, a hand around a wrist pulling you back. “Y/N, please stop a minute.”
***
“I've not talked to you all day.” Eddie came from behind you, circling the bench you were sitting on. It was quiet outside. You just needed a couple of minutes to yourself, but you weren’t mad he was interrupting the quiet.
“I know, its been hectic.”
You hadn’t expected the day to go any different. Weddings were chaotic and being your mom’s only bridesmaid put extra strain on you to help her.
“You didn’t wear the dress.”
You looked down at the new dress toy had on. “Yeah, my mom didn't like it.” You lied. It had gone back, as your mom had said.
“Too bad. It looked great. And I know you liked it.” Eddie shrugged.
You loved it. It was much nicer than the dress your mom chose in the end. You didn’t hate it but it stuck to you when you moved and you couldn’t wait to get it off.
“Ill give you your money back when I see you next. Derek thinks we're dating, which I know is weird because were obviously –“
Eddie laughed so loudly and abruptly it scared you. “Can you imagine? That’s crazy.”
“Crazy?”
“I’ve never heard of anything so funny in my whole life.”
You didn’t think it was funny. You’d hoped when he heard even her step dad thought they were dating even after all this time apart that Eddie might open his eyes, but obviously you’d read the whole situation wrong. This was embarrassing.
He continued to laugh.
“Eddie stop.”
Your tone caused him to stop and the paleness that had covered your face caused him to worry.
“Are you ok? You don’t look very well.”
“I’m fine.”
“We can get out of here if you’re unwell.”
“Its my mums wedding.”
“Yeah, but I’m sure she wouldn’t mind if you’re sick.” He rubbed his hand down your back and you felt cold. You didn’t stay friends with him all these years to date him, but it hurt that he laughed so loudly and so long at the mere notion of dating you.
“I said I’m fine.”
He backed away. His face nearly as pale as yours. You both left that conversation there.
That summer you didn’t see Eddie anymore. You weren’t ignoring him as such you just were busy. You had stuff to do and so did he. Maybe he got the message a little too loud and clear, you thought.
***
“What are you doing here?”
“I work next door, I saw Becky, she told me to stay...I shouldn’t have, I know I wasn’t invited , I’m sorry, i ju-“
Eddie wrapped his arms around you, smashing your face into his chest. You synced your breath to his and, for a few seconds you felt the safety you used to find in him. Until he spoke.
“Tell me I’m doing the right thing.”
You pushed yourself away from him. “What?”
He took a deep breath. “Tell me I should marry Meg.”
“Ed-“
“Tell me its a good idea, tell me she’s the one for me and I’ll be happy.”
“Eddie, I don’t know you as a couple. We haven’t spoke in years.”
“I don’t know anyone who knows me better. If you tell me I should do this then I will.”
“I only know rumours...”
He laughed. He knew. Obviously he knew. Everyone knew.
“Why are you marrying her?”
“It was next, I suppose. We dated for a while and you know Meg, she gets what she wants.”
“And what she wants is you and her dentist?”
Eddie turned his face upwards, laughing at the sky.
“The dentist as well? I thought it was just a bartender.”
It was sad to see your friend like this. Thinking that he should settle for a woman who seemingly had no respect or care for him whatsoever.
“You deserve better.” you whisper.
“You deserved better.”
“You don’t have to do this you know.”
“No, I need to apologise.” For what, you thought. You hadn’t spoken in years and that was mostly your fault. He couldn’t still be thinking about that.
“No, I mean-“
Eddie cut you off with the beginning of one of his speeches. “You were at college. You were smart and doing things and I couldn’t even finish high school. I just thought, why would you ever want to date someone like-“
You raised your voice and put your hand on his mouth to stop him talking anymore. “I meant, you don’t have to marry Meg.” Your hand made its way back to your side and Eddie didn’t open his mouth to say anymore. “Please don’t.”
***
Eddie threw his bag in the back of the van and jogged round to the drivers side.
“Out.” He demanded.
“Why can’t I drive this time?” you pouted.
He shook his head. “My van, my rules.” You reluctantly slid out of he seat, your feet crunching on the path beside him.
“So does that mean if I get a van, then its my rules?”
A smirked creeped onto Eddie’s face as he leaned slowly towards you, but you sharply darted away and ran around to the passenger side. Arm outstretched, pointing at him, you shouted “If I can’t drive, you can't have kisses.” Childish, but funny, he thought.
Eddie sat in the drivers seat heavily and quickly adjust his pocket, lest you see the small box he had inside. It was risky keeping the ring in his pocket but he knew you would've already gone through the bags a million times before leaving, and then at least he knew exactly where it was.
“Are the others meeting us there?”
He stuttered a bit, “Er- yeah. I think they’re starting out a bit later.” Maybe he lied, maybe they were already there and setting up things for him.
You clipped your seatbelt and smiled over at him. The kind of big smile he loved. “You’ll have to put up with me on your on for a bit longer then.”
He would. Hopefully forever if you said yes. He knew he’d got it right this time.
***
Hopefully you enjoyed it. Feedback and comments are very welcome 🩷🩷
