Closed - Thick as thieves

Vought had treated Heli like a failure since day one. It was bad enough when she was born the birth was so difficult it killed her mother, but on top of it, the serum didn't yield the results they wanted. Helli was a healthy girl, but she'd been born blind. Not only that she didn't show any real powers for nearly a year. And even then they were weak at best, and John already proved to be ten times as powerful. Since the little monster kept killing his handlers, or 'moms' as they started calling them, why not let him have a play mate they didn't care if he crushed to death?

No one dared get too close to John however, so they opened the door and shoved the little albino blind girl inside of the cell with the five year old boy.

Heli was scared, and she still had a hard time with everything. Navigating the world in shades of grey, and black and white. What she couldn't tell them, and what they seemed to not understand was that while she was born without eye sight she had incredible other senses. For instance her hearing allowed her to use echo location.

But when she was tired, and scared it was hard to keep track. She stumbled into the cell, and felt along the wall, before she started to cry. The four year old didn't understand what was happening. So she did the only thing she knew how. She sat against the wall, curled into a ball and cried.

They hadn’t spoken to each other for an entire month. Four weeks of pure silence. Storms had kept them inside, there was only enough food for one so of course when Yuichiro made it, he had left it out. Ready for Muichiro to eat when he got back from the river. But he couldn’t.. take it.

Everything felt too much, too loud. He was drowning. He’s been drowning this entire time. With grief, anger, sadness, despair, even rage.. He was doing his best. Trying to make a living, trying to make this work. Trying to protect Muichiro and yet..

It’s falling apart.

They didn’t even talk anymore.

As he finished the plate of rice and dried deer, his body began to tremble. His hands came to grip each side of the table as he just. Tries to calm down, tries to swallow his tears and numb the pain.

Like he always had. He needed to be strong. He needed to be the cold one. He couldn’t. He couldn’t be kind not. Not anymore but.

He’s breaking. His nails dug into the wood as he could feel his whole body ache in pain.

Calm down.. calm down.. he had no right. No right to cry. Not when he’s the one who caused this.

Don’t think about how hollow mothers eyes were, don’t think about how father looked at him like he was some foreign monster when he said mother was already dead, don’t think about muichiro having to listen to his brother and father fight. Don’t think about how he had to drag himself away from their graves, don’t think about how it should have been him who left for those herbs in fathers stead, don’t think about all the ways he’s hurt his precious brother. Don’t think. Don’t think. Don’t think.

Ignore it. Push it away don’t—

Tears pricking at the corner of his eyes, his chest felt so tight and he couldn’t breathe. Fingers clasp tightly over his mouth to stifle any noise of distress. Stumbling out of their home he just walked. Farther and farther until he came to stop before their parents graves. Where he broke.

Falling to his knees, wrapping his arms around himself as all the stress of their fights, the crushing grief, and the fear of losing his twin by his own cruelty finally..

Broke him.

She doesn't seem to be dressed for the job as a nun and she's obviously far too old to be living amongst the children as an orphan. Orochimaru recognized Aina

"Do you have any business with us, young lady? If not, then step aside and leave us alone." Danzo said in a serious tone, akin to an stern elder telling a child to behave.

"Umm... Da- I mean, Lord Danzo. Let me talk to her, she's a friend of mine." Kabuto managed to say quietly, though he still feels like the other would be mad at him speaking out without permission.

He decided to step forward towards Aina as he tries to keep a fake calm composure on his face, he knew that he had to do something quick. If Aina decides to keep resisting and try to stop them from leaving, the other two shinobi behind Danzo might end up either beating her up to the point where she will be unable to get up, or worst. Kill her because she had seen too much on Danzo's secret meeting with the Konoha Orphanage and with someone as dangerous as Danzo. He could easily cover up her death, and Kabuto could already sense it from the men behind him what they are planning to do.

"Aina, please. Let us though. I really do want to be a shinobi, and this is my only chance to get to be one. They'll take good care of me and they'll teach and train me to be strong. Strong enough that I will be able to protect you and everyone else in the village."

He swallows his spit with a bit of hesitation on his part, since it's hard for him to openly lie to her since she was a good friend to him and someone that he never wanted to hurt with his lies as well. "I'm not being forced to do this. This is what I want to do and Mother accepted it. I'm not going to be a child forever and we both know it. It's okay, I promise that everything is going to be okay. So please Aina... just let me go."

Meet Keiko Bashira-sensei.

Steve is in the car one day with his three-year-old daughter Robbie when she pipes up from the backseat, “Papa, we gotta go to the store.’

“We do?” he asks, and he glances in the rearview to see that she’s looking idly out the window.

He allows himself a moment to ponder if they might actually need to stop for something that he’s forgotten about – it wouldn’t be the first time his kids’ memories had out-performed his own. He’s pretty positive they don’t need to stop for anything though.

“Yup,” Robbie replies.

“Why do we need to go to the store?”

She goes quiet long enough for Steve to wonder if maybe she got distracted looking at something out the car window and forgot she’d been asked a question, but then she says, “I wanna buy something.”

Steve pauses because – for one – her little toddler voice turns something into som-ping, which is so stinking cute, but also because it’s yet another reason this kid is exactly like Eddie.

He sighs.

“What do you want to buy?”

“Ummm…” Another long pause, “I wanna buy something for…for…I wanna buy something but I don’t remember anymore.”

“Hm,” Steve hums, “Wonder where you got that one from.”

“I just wanna buy something,” Robbie continues.

Wanna know why I don't like Peter B.?

Because when Gwen was actively forced into homelessness in front of him, he literally didn't help at all. And then it gets framed on JESS.

Gwen asks for help. And Peter says this:

Jess asks him to stop talking.

And from this moment forward, Peter makes no effort whatsoever to help Gwen.

Mind you. This is AFTER Miles' escape. After the whole 'shocked Peter' gif. Peter knows Miguel is willing to get violent.

But that line is his only attempt to help.

Even as he watches Gwen be fully restrained and physically forced into the machine. He stands there and watches.

He doesn't try to web her. He doesn't try to stop the machine or talk to Miguel. He stands there in silence. Watching Gwen get sent home to a universe he knows she is homeless in.

And the movie just lets him. Despite the fact he's known Gwen longer than anybody in this room.

Instead, Jess is the only mentor at fault. We're told to blame her.

During this scene we never pan to Peter, standing there literally motionless as Gwen gets dragged away. He's not panicking, or trying to talk Miguel out of it. We're just expected to absolve him of blame.

It's Jess' fault. Jess is her 'failed mentor' - despite the fact that Peter has known Gwen longer, is shown to have a better relationship with her, and we're given no reason as to why he wasn't her mentor to begin with.

Jess says this, and we're supposed to judge her for it. While Peter said nothing at all. At most he made a joke and then shut up when he was told.

Jess might've believed she couldn't help Gwen - but what was Peter's excuse? Standing there and watching this happen? He doesn't feel the need to do anything, say anything, or even leave the room.

For him, watching this is fine. And Gwen NEVER confronts him about it.

We're not supposed to blame Peter for letting Miles and Gwen down, repeatedly.

Even when Gwen is being physically forced into homelessness in front of him.

We're told to blame the black woman when the white man who has known Gwen longer literally stands beside Jess motionless.

Had Hobie not left Gwen the watch - We're left to assume that Peter would've just... let her be homeless in her dimension.

He watched her get sent home, said nothing, then went home to his wife and kid to ponder whether or not he was a bad mentor.

Not if Gwen was okay. Or whether he should go check on her????

That's NOT OKAY???!!!! THAT'S TERRIBLE!!!!!!! And this is the man we're supposed to be routing for? This, the dude who shows NO signs he was even gonna go and check on Gwen? The dude who lets child abuse go down in front of him TWICE and he just stands there blinking? That's our Peter Parker?

I temporarily lost my ability to ink so I decided to try something small and easy. Then ended up scribbling a bunch of other things.

Gabriel's outfit is pretty much a mash of his comic outfit and a jacket taken directly from ATSV concept art of 2099 fashion by Jesus Alonso Inglesias. I don't like coloring, but if I did I would make it really bright and obnoxious.

My impression is that Miguel's civvie fit is really drab and baggy by 2099 standards and is meant to hide his body shape. Either way it's a pretty funny contrast to his other fit which is skin-tight, bright red & blue and has all his muscles drawn in.

Miguel in the comics has organic webs which give him the power of being nasty-ass and leaving gross sticky stuff on everything he touches. I guess this is the inspiration for the top image (it's time stamped)

My headcanon is that Gabi knows that her Dad is Spiderman and she wants so bad to be a Spider as well like him, so Miguel makes her a suit similar of his own, and Gabi bought fake vampire fangs to recreate the Spider Bite attack on her Dad's neck 🤣
