why are printers so hated? it's simple:
computers are good at computering. they are not good at the real world.
the biggest problems in computers, the ones that have had to change the most over the time they've existed, are the parts that deal with the real world. The keyboard, the mouse, the screen. every computer needs these, but they involve interacting with the real world. that's a problem. that's why they get replaced so much.
now, printers: printers have some of the most complex real-world interaction. they need to deposit ink on paper in 2 dimensions, and that results in at least three ways it can go on right from the start. (this is why 3D printers are just 2D printers that can go wrong in another whole dimension)
scanners fall into many of the same problems printers have, but fewer people have scanners, and they're not as cost-optimized. But they are nearly as annoying.
This is also why you can make a printer better by cutting down on the number of moving elements: laser printers are better than inkjets, because they only need to move in one dimension, and their ink is a powder, not a liquid. and the best-behaved printers of all are thermal printers: no ink and the head doesn't move. That's why every receipt printer is a thermal printer, because they need that shit to work all the time so they can sell shit. And thermal is the most reliable way to do that.
But yeah, cost-optimization is also a big part of why printers are such finicky unreliable bastards: you don't want to pay much for them. Who is excited for all the printing they're gonna be doing? basically nobody. But people get forced to have a printer because they gotta print something, for school or work or the government or whatever. So they want the cheapest thing that'll work. They're not shopping on features and functionality and design, they want something that costs barely anything, and can fucking PRINT. anything else is an optional bonus.
And here's the thing: there's a fundamental limit of how much you can optimize an inkjet printer, and we got near to it in like the late 90s. Every printer since then has just been a tad smaller, a tad faster, and added some gimmicks like printing from WIFI or bluetooth instead of needing to plug in a cable.
And that's the worst place to be in, for a computer component. The "I don't care how fancy it is, just give me one that works" zone. This is why you can buy a keyboard for 20$ and a mouse for 10$ and they both work plenty fine for 90% of users. They're objectively shit compared to the ones in the 60-150$ range, but do they work? yep. So that's what people get.
Printers fell into that zone long, long ago, when people stopped getting excited about "desktop publishing". So with printers shoved into the "make them as cheap as possible" zone, they have gotten exponentially shittier. Can you cut costs by 5$ a printer by making them jam more often? good. make them only last a couple years to save a buck or two per unit? absolutely. Can you make the printer cost 10$ less and make that back on the proprietary ink cartridges? oh, they've been doing that since Billy Clinton was in office.
It's the same place floppy disks were in in about 2000. CD-burners were not yet cheap enough, USB flash drives didn't exist yet (but were coming), modems weren't fast enough yet to copy stuff over the internet, superfloppies hadn't taken over like some hoped, and memory cards were too expensive and not everyone had a drive for them. So we still needed floppy disks, but at the same time this was a technology that hadn't changed in nearly 20 years. So people were tired of paying out the nose for them... the only solution? cut corners. I have floppy disks from 1984 that read perfectly, but a shrinkwrapped box of disks from 1999 will have over half the disks failed. They cut corners on the material quality, the QA process, the cleaning cloth inside the disk, everything they could. And the disks were shit as a result.
So, printers are in that particular note of the death-spiral where they've reached the point of "no one likes or cares about this technology, but it's still required so it's gone to shit". That's why they are so annoying, so unreliable, so fucking crap.
So, here's the good news:
You can still buy a better printer, and it will work far better. Laser printers still exist, and LED printers work the same way but even cheaper. They're still more expensive than inkjets (especially if you need color), but if you have to print stuff, they're a godsend. Way more reliable.
This is not a stable equilibrium. Printers cannot limp along in this terrible state forever. You know why I brought up floppy disk there? (besides the fact I'm a giant floppy disk nerd) because floppy disks GOT REPLACED. Have you used one this decade? CD-Rs and USB drives and internet sharing came along and ate the lunch of floppy disks, so much so that it's been over a decade since any more have been made. The same will happen to (inkjet) printers, eventually. This kind of clearly-broken situation cannot hold. It'll push people to go paperless, for companies to build cheaper alternatives to take over from the inkjets, or someone will come up with a new, more reliable printer based on some new technology that's now cheap enough to use in printers. Yeah, it sucks right now, but it can't last.
So, in conclusion: Printers suck, but this is both an innate problem caused by them having to deal with so much fucking Real World, and a local minimum of reliability that we're currently stuck in. Eventually we'll get out of this valley on the graph and printers will bother people a lot less.
Random fun facts about printing of the past and their local minimums:
in the hot metal type era, not only would the whole printing process expose you to lead, the most common method of printing text was the linotype, which could go wrong in a very fun way: if the next for a line wasn't properly justified (filling out the whole row), it could "squirt", and lead would escape through gaps in the type matrix. This would result in molten lead squirting out of the machine, possibly onto the operator. Anecdotally, linotype operators would sometimes recognize each other on the street because of the telltale spots on their forearms where they had white splotches where no hair grew, because they got bad lead burns. This type of printing remained in use until the 80s.
Another fun type of now-retired printers are drum printers, a type of line printer. These work something like a typewriter or dot-matrix printer, except the elements extend across the entire width of the paper. So instead of printing a character at time by smacking it into the paper, the whole line got smacked nearly at once. The problem is that if the paper jammed and the printer continued to try to print, that line of the paper would be repeatedly struck at high speed, creating a lot of heat. This worry created the now-infamous Linux error: "lp0 on fire". This was displayed when the error signals from a parallel printer didn't make sense... and it was a real worry. A high speed printer could definitely set the paper on fire, though this was rare.
So... one thing to be grateful about current shitty inkjet printers: they are very unlikely to burn anything, especially you.
(because before they could do that they'd have to work, at least a little, first, and that's very unlikely)

Open mic night was Eddie’s favourite night of the week. It wasn’t often that the group was able to make the drive up to Indy but everyone was finally available this time. Gareth, Jeff and Grant were going in his van. Steve was taking Robin, Argyle, Jonathan and Nancy. Steve hadn’t seemed too interested when Eddie had invited them but he owed Robin something and she forced him into being their designated driver for the evening’s festivities. It would be the first time the groups would be mixing and Eddie was incredibly anxious about it.
He loved Gareth, Jeff and Grant but they had no filters whatsoever and even though Steve might not be a douchebag anymore, he had still been King Steve and that didn’t just go away because they had fought interdimensional demons together. He also couldn’t explain to the guys the real reason he was hanging out with Steve without mentioning said interdimensional demons. So. Eddie was anxious. But it was open mic night and he was going to hope for the best. He fucking loved open mic night.
“Tell me again how you became friends with Harrington?” Grant asked from the back seat.
Eddie couldn’t help but sigh, he had explained (lied) to them all multiple times but they could sense that something was missing from the story.
“I told you! Henderson introduced us. You know how he always went on and on about him, had to see for myself.”
“And you hit it off? Just like that?” Jeff asked.
Eddie shrugged. That was the story and he was sticking to it.
“But why did you have to invite him to open mic night?” Gareth whined.
“Chill out. We’re going to have a good time,” Eddie said as he reached for the radio dial. He turned the music up louder, ending the Q and A portion of the ride.
When they pulled up at the bar, he saw that Steve and the rest of the gang were already there and waiting outside. He parked the van and went to meet them. Steve was standing a bit off to the side, arms crossed over his chest, scowling at Robin. He looked good. A simple black t-shirt showed off his arms and tight acid washed jeans showed off his ass. Eddie assumed Robin had helped him pick the outfit, he had never seen Steve wear black before. Nancy and Johnathan were holding hands and leaning into each other’s space and Argyle was finishing off the last few tokes of his joint.
Robin spotted him and the guys and waved them over.
“Hey, Eddie!” she said with a bright smile lighting up her face.
Eddie tucked one hand into his front pocket and used the other to wave back. “Hey guys, this is Grant, Jeff, and Gareth,” he said pointing at each of them in turn. “This is Robin, Nancy, Johnathan, Argyle and Steve.”
Introducing them all to each other might have seemed a little silly – they did all go to high school together. Well, except for Argyle – but it felt right, too. Eddie wanted them to get along and making introductions felt like a new start. They all nodded at each other, somewhat warily before moving to the door. They didn’t intermingle – group lines still clearly demarcated and Eddie sighed.
Wayne was good friends with the owner of the bar, so he let Eddie and his friends drink a bit. Usually just a pitcher or two of his cheapest beer, which was completely fine with him. Beer was beer as far as he was concerned and he wasn’t going to complain when he was getting it for free while he was still underaged. The place wasn’t too full yet, he liked to arrive a little early so he could get a spot near the front of the stage. He got everyone settled at the table and then dragged Jeff off to the bar to help him with the drinks.
“Hey there, my main man Moe,” Eddie sing-songed as he approached the man behind the counter. He was Wayne’s age with wrinkles around his eyes and grey in his hair. He and Wayne went way back, the best of friends even though they were complete opposites. Where Wayne could be quiet and standoffish, Moe was charismatic and brash – they balanced each other.
“Eddie!” Moe called back and smiled widely at him. “Good to see ya, how’s Wayne?”
“Wayne’s great! He says hello.”
“How many glasses?” Moe asked as he started to fill up a pitcher of beer. “You brought a big group this time.”
“Oh, uh – nine!... Please.”
Moe set the pitcher on the counter before turning to grab and stack a bunch of cups. Jeff picked up the cups and Eddie took the pitcher.
“Thanks, Moe.”
Moe waved him off, still smiling.
He and Jeff made their way back to the table. Eddie was pleased to see that the two groups were intermingling a bit when he got back. Robin was chatting with Grant and Gareth, which made sense – they probably had the most in common. Johnathan and Nancy were sitting side by side, listening. Argyle was currently a space cadet, staring at the popcorned ceiling like it was the night sky. And Steve – well Steve had his arms across his chest and was leaning back like he wished he was anywhere else. Whatever, he could be a grumpy goose all he wanted. Eddie placed the pitcher in the center and Jeff started handing out the cups.
“So, what’s the King been up to since graduating?” Gareth asked and then took a sip of beer. Eddie rolled his eyes. The question was innocent enough but the way Gareth asked it made it sound like he already knew the answer and it couldn’t be anything good.
“Family Video re-opened, so me and Robs have been working,” he said and shrugged, taking the question and the way it was asked in a surprisingly good stride.
“That’s it? Working at Family Video?” Grant chimed in with a smirk.
Everyone could read between the lines of what Grant and Gareth were saying – the great Steve ‘The Hair’ Harrington, King of Hawkins High graduated but going nowhere – Working a menial service industry job that he probably hated. Eddie didn’t know if Steve had any other plans. He knew Robin and Nancy were all set to go off to college once they graduated but he and Steve had never really talked about their life goals. Maybe he was happy with an easy job and no stress. There were worse things, he supposed. But he also couldn’t imagine getting stuck in fucking Hawkins.
“Yup,” Steve replied. “That’s it.”
“That is not it, Steve!” Robin said from across the table. “Why don’t you tell them –” Her words were cut off when Moe walked onto the stage and announced that open mic night had officially begun.
A cheer went around the room and usually Eddie would be the first one to go up to the mic but he wanted Robin to finish her sentence. It was clear she wasn’t going to when the cheers finally quieted and a man from the back of the room approached the stage. Eddie listened but he found himself distracted; he hated mysteries. Puzzles needed to be solved or else he felt them like an itch in the back of his mind. He would need to bring the conversation back around to Steve later so he could find out what else the man had going on.
When the first performance ended to polite claps, Eddie jumped up to go next. He loved putting on a show. Moe always had an acoustic and electric guitar on the stage for anyone who wanted to use them. Eddie grabbed the electric guitar and strummed a few chords, testing it out before he went up to the microphone. He usually stuck to more rock and roll songs for open mic night over the heavier stuff he performed with Corroded Coffin. It was nice to be able to do both and he loved it when the crowd sang along with him. He finished his slowed down version of For Whom the Bells Tolls with an exaggerated bow.
A few regulars he knew went up after him. Jeff did a great acoustic version of Number of the Beast which Eddie had not expected to work at all. Robin and Nancy did a Blondie’s song together that wasn’t half bad. They had nice voices, and Robin at least managed to stay on key. Blondie was no joke.
They were on their third pitcher, the mood at the table loosened as they talked and sang and drank. Eddie and Steve only had one beer each before switching to sodas – a stipulation of Moes that anyone he brought to drink had a safe drive home. Eddie had never bent this rule, he appreciated Moe giving them a space to come and drink and he wouldn’t get him in trouble by driving drunk.
“Steve! Your turn!” Nancy yelled.
Steve shook his head. “I’m not getting up there. I’m only here because Robin made me come.”
Jeff and Gareth shared a look between them, rolling their eyes.
“Afraid to sing in front of us, Harrington?” Eddie asked. He knew that Steve wasn’t afraid of anything. His dumb bravery would put the strongest barbarian to shame but sometimes heckling worked and Eddie really wanted to hear him sing.
Steve just leaned back calmly. “Not gunna work on me, Munson.”
“Steve,” Robin whined and stretched out his name, “you have to sing.”
“Nope,” Steve responded.
Robin leaned over so she was practically in his lap and squeezed his cheeks together.
“You have to sing, Steve,” she said with the utmost seriousness.
Something passed between them because Steve’s eyes got large and frightened and Robin snickered. She had something on him! Something he didn’t want her to tell them and she was threatening him with it. Good job, Robin!
Steve sighed deeply before heading up the stage as the crowd hooted and hollered.
Robin leaned back in her chair with a satisfied smirk on her face.
“He’s probably going to sing Tears for Fears or Abba or something,” Eddie said to the group.
“My money is on Madonna,” Nancy chimed in.
Robin snorted. “Duran Duran!”
They all laughed.
Steve grabbed the microphone and took a deep breath, looking out into the crowd. His first note echoed in the room and the talking and laughter ceased immediately, all eyes turned and focused on the stage.
I get up in the evenin’ And I ain’t got nothing to say Come home in the mornin’ I go to bed feelin’ the same way I ain’t nothin’ but tired Man, I’m just tired and bored with myself     Hey there, baby, I could use just a little help
Not a sound could be heard from anyone in the room as they all listened in rapt silence. Steve’s voice was ethereal, perfectly pitched, beautiful. Eddie had never heard anything like it.
You can't start a fire You can't start a fire without a spark This gun's for hire Even if we're just dancin' in the dark
The thing was, Eddie liked Steve. He was a better person and friend than he could have ever expected of the former king. But he was a surface level person, what you saw was what you got. He could be sassy and mean and didn’t seem to dive too deeply into his own feelings. Steve was simple and he liked simple things. He was Steve ‘The Hair’ Harrington for Christ sakes, he could not have the deep well of emotion and pain that he was conveying in this song.
But he did.
And he was.
Eddie turned to Robin and hissed in her ear as quietly as he could, “did you know about this?”
But she was looking at Steve just as dumbstruck as the rest of them and slowly shook her head.
You sit around gettin' older There's a joke here somewhere and it's on me I'll shake this world off my shoulders Come on, baby, the laugh's on me
Steve was baring his goddamn soul. And maybe Eddie had still been judging him too harshly on who he used to be – because they had fought a fucking war together. But it had always seemed to just…glide off Steve. They must have missed it – the darkness and loneliness in his eyes that Eddie was seeing now. They were all seeing it now. Nancy and Robin were both staring at him like they had never seen him before. Eddie was ashamed. How often did he lament people for thinking they knew him? For judging him on his looks before they even tried to know him? And now he had done it, too. But this was worse because Steve was his friend… and he hadn’t seen it. He had seen a piece of the man and assumed it for the whole.
Stay on the streets of this town And they'll be carvin' you up alright They say you gotta stay hungry Hey baby, I'm just about starvin' tonight I'm dyin' for some action I'm sick of sittin' 'round here tryin' to write this book I need a love reaction Come on now, baby, gimme just one look
This blew all of his preconceived notions out of the water. Steve was singing like his goddamn heart was breaking and no one in the world understood him. It was a masterpiece and Eddie was floored. Absolutely floored. He had heard Dancing in the Dark a million times. But Steve… The way he sang it gave the words such a deeper meaning. It was beautiful and haunting and pained. It changed everything about the song… and everything he thought he knew about Steve Harrington.
You can't start a fire Worryin' about your little world fallin' apart This gun's for hire Even if we're just dancin' in the dark Even if we're just dancin' in the dark
He held the last note, beautifully pitched, before he let it go. The room was silent, everyone as awestruck as Eddie. After a pregnant pause everyone erupted into cheers and whistles and Steve dropped his head as a blush starting creeping over his cheekbones – his hair falling over his face. Adorable.
Oh. Oh no.
No. No. No.
He did not just think that.
Appreciative eyes followed Steve as he made his way back to their table and Eddie bristled. He wanted to growl and bare his teeth at them all.
“You have the voice of an angel, my dude,” Argyle said.
“Thanks man,” Steve said as he sat back down.
Robin immediately attacked him, shoving him and screaming, “what the hell was that?”
“You wanted me to sing! So, I sang!” he yelled back.
“I didn’t know you could sing, Steve! Why didn’t you tell me?”
Steve shrugged. “Never came up, I guess.”
“Never came up!? Neve came up?” Robin’s voice kept increasing in volume and incredulity. Eddie was right there with her. “I am betrayed! Betrayed, Steve!”
Steve rolled his eyes at her dramatics. “Calm down, Buckley. It was just a song.”
“It wasn’t just a song though, was it?” Nancy asked quietly.
Steve tensed up and ducked his head but not before Eddie saw something dark move through his eyes. He wanted to ask if Steve was okay, wanted to drag him somewhere quiet where he could talk to him and ask him questions and find out what was behind his eyes – what was behind that song. Eddie wanted to split his skull open and peer inside and learn everything there was to know about Steve Harrington. He couldn’t take his eyes off him, was begging desperately in his head for Steve to look up, to look at him, too.
Who are you, Steve Harrington?
Eddie’s mind itched at the unexpected puzzle.

Driving Lessons for Beginners: What You Need to Know
Whether you are someone who loves to take your vehicle for a ride or someone who enjoys sitting on the side, like a passenger, Driving is a basic skill that everyone should acquire. Even if you won’t drive a lot, learning to drive gives you independence. If you're searching for driving lessons, you’re already on the right path toward mastering the skills needed to be a safe and responsible driver.
In this blog, you will get to know everything that you need about taking driving classes and the process ahead.
Tumblr media
Why Driving Lessons Are Essential for Beginners
When it comes to learning how to drive, professional driving classes offer clear advantages.
Professional driving lessons make sure that you learn to drive safely.
They’ll guide you through essential skills such as traffic rules and road signs, ensuring you're ready for both your driving test and real-world driving situations.
These structured lessons allow you to learn in a step-by-step manner, without being overwhelming.
A professional instructor will give you automatic car lessons as well as manual car lessons.
Enrolling in a driving course ensures that you learn in a controlled manner and minimize the risks associated with learning on your own.
Choosing the Right Driving School
When choosing the right driving school make sure you do thorough research, firstly look for a driving school near me to find reputable institutions in your area.
Check reviews, ask for recommendations, and ensure that the school is certified and licensed by the appropriate driving authorities. Also make sure that you compare the prices of different schools so that you can make an informed decision.
While it’s tempting to go with the cheapest option, it’s important to balance affordability with quality. Look for affordable driving schools that still maintain a high standard of instruction. Many schools offer discounts on special occasions or on bulk lessons, make sure you check all the details.
Tips for Making the Most Out of Your Driving Lessons
To ensure you get the most out of your driving lessons, consider the following tips:
Be Prepared – Before each lesson, take some initiative and review traffic rules and regulations. The more you prepare beforehand, the quicker you will learn while you are on the ground.
Practice Consistently – “Practice makes a man perfect”, a cliche, yes, but a fact as well. Be consistent with your practice, try to find a friend or a family member who has a license to practice with you.
Stay Calm and Patient – Learning to drive can be a tiring process but it is important to stay calm. Trust the process and keep practicing so that you get back the complete cost of driving lessons.
Communicate with Your Instructor – If you feel that you are facing any issues, make sure you communicate that with your instructor. They can tailor the lessons to your needs.
Automatic vs Manual –   If you're unsure whether to choose automatic car lessons or manual, consider your comfort level and driving needs. Automatic cars are generally easier to drive, making them a popular choice for beginners. If you plan on driving both types of vehicles, you might consider starting with automatic car lessons and then transitioning to manual.
Looking Ahead
Taking driving lessons are essential for beginners as they ensure that you learn every little aspect of driving and are prepared for that license test. Choosing the right driving school is vital to your success. Make sure you get the most out of your lessons by staying prepared, practicing regularly, and maintaining open communication with your instructor.
Are you ready to get started? Search for a driving school near me today and take the first step toward becoming a confident driver.

in the lead for the least-favorite car I ever owned, behold the 1980 Chevy Citation (mine was the 4-cyl, 4-door as pictured in front here, though imagine it covered in stickers to hide dents and The Ugly)
just six years after it was built, the weird pinkish-tan plastic interior was warping and falling apart along with most everything else. but at least it was underpowered and handled like garbage
the only car my parents ever bought me, this thing replaced the 1972 Toyota Corona I'd gotten from a roommate as payment for keeping it running and on the road for a couple years (or perhaps as punishment). after I arrived at my grandparents' house in central Minnesota for Christmas - half-dazed, smelling like gasoline, and frozen from driving three hours with the windows rolled down (so I wouldn't suffocate from gas fumes due to a leaky tank) - my grandpa drove us straight to a local used-car dealer whose owner owed him a favor, and as a Christmas present they all bought me the cheapest non-deathtrap on the lot - this Chevy Citation
the worst part? the Corona and Citation replaced my beloved big-finned (and almost not-rusty) 1960 Chrysler Saratoga that I'd won in a radio puzzle-game back in high school, which had broken down shortly after leaving the lot amid small-town fanfare and was still sitting in a field near my grandparents' house. for the price of that 1980 stain on vehicular honor, we could have (almost) rebuilt the engine and transmission of the Saratoga, instead. so though I appreciated having transportation less likely to kill me, I secretly resented the thing
after the Citation inevitably died a couple years later, I bought Chevrolet's 1951 version of the 4-door utility car, which possessed more character in its painted-steel and chrome dashboard alone than this thing did in its entirety
(of course, it barely functioned, but that's a different story)
I guess what I'm trying to convey is that this was not a great period for the American automobile

When looking for a low cost driving school near me choose the best driving school in Toronto that is MTO approved
Tumblr media
When it comes to driving etiquette, learning about driving via books and videos is crucial, but the experience obtained from attending a driving school is priceless. Choose the best driving school in Toronto that is MTO approved and has a good reputation since it will help you become more skilled behind the wheel and be better prepared for the situations you will encounter on the road while driving.
Having driving expertise makes it far simpler to remain composed and in control under pressure. So, when you are driving in bad weather conditions, or a traffic jam you will never lose your cool and drive responsibly.
Choosing a driving school near your area?
Make sure the driving school has a solid reputation and thoroughly investigate the courses they offer before choosing one while searching for a driving school near me. You can learn whenever it is convenient for you if there is a school nearby. If the school is close by, you won't have to waste time traveling there and back.
But continue to hunt for the one who can actually assist you. Even though you could feel anxious in many circumstances, if you have the necessary driving skills, you can act correctly and promptly. A reputable school's instructors are always available to help you learn skills that are best suited for you to manage different situations, whether it be merging, parallel parking, or anything else. Therefore, the key to success is picking a decent driving school.
Advantages of enrolling in a driving school:
·         Training from a professional
Having to learn from a professional is among the most advantageous aspects of enrolling in a driving school. These instructors are available to assist you in identifying any areas of weakness and demonstrating more effective driving techniques. The main objective of an instructor is to prepare you for the driving test and for you to obtain your driver's license, so they will work with you to achieve this.
·         Instructors assist you in changing your bad habits
The more experienced you become as a driver, the more at ease you may become behind the wheel and develop some bad habits. When you were a new driver, you might have been in a car with someone and noticed their bad driving habits. As a result, you might have assumed it was okay to follow their lead. To change any bad habits you may have acquired along the way, you can ask the driving instructor for assistance during a driving lesson.
·         You will gain the right knowledge of defensive driving
Nothing is more upsetting for a new driver than getting into an accident right after getting their license. Fortunately, qualified instructors are familiar with the defensive driving strategies that lower the likelihood of being involved in an accident. Driving lessons are a more affordable long-term investment than the costs associated with a car accident.
Tumblr media
When looking for a driving school near me you must not make any compromise. Choose only professional schools that are MTO approved. Driving schools also offer you the very valuable benefit of using their own vehicle for practice. This implies that during your training sessions, there is less risk to your own car.
Conclusion: If you are a resident of Canada and are looking for the best driving school in Toronto, then visit https://superdrivingschool.ca. They have professional drivers who can help you in every situation.

Who is on the earth doesn’t like to drive, regardless of the fact that you have your personal conveyance under your name or not, but having this skill in the hands itself is a priceless feeling, because every time you need to go home for an emergency meeting or have a sudden plan to go out with your loved ones or you need to visit somewhere else you cannot afford a private taxi and hiring a public transport is also not good idea always when you need privacy. But if you have a vehicle in your garage and you don’t know how to start it, this is then something unusual! And how to get rid of the situation? Very simple, just find out a reliable Driving School near you and grab the opportunity at the earliest because life is so fast and you have to be active to be in the race. But take notice of important measures before you go to a driving school.

Moments from the Misha, Darius Zoom:
Darius: I WILL SAY THE FIRST THING ONE WANTS TO DO IN A ZOOM TO ESTABLISH DOMINANCE IS WHEN THE BACKGROUND CONTEST.
__________
MISHA: WE BOTH MOVED TO L.A. IN -- DARIUS: 99.
MISHA: DECEMBER OF 98, RIGHT BEFORE NEW YEAR'S. WE MOVED INTO THE SAME LITTLE, YOUR AUNT'S FRIEND'S HOUSE ON THE VENICE CANALS. YOUR WIFE WAS PREGNANT WITH YOUR FIRST CHILD AT THAT POINT AND MY WIFE AND I DID NOT KNOW IT AND WE WERE LIKE WHY ARE THEY SLEEPING ALL DAY, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM?
DARIUS: THERE WAS A GAS LEAK ALSO IN THE HOUSE. SO WE WERE ALL SLEEPING ALL DAY.
MISHA: THAT'S TRUE.
___________
MISHA: THERE WAS A TIME WHEN WE WERE YOUNGER WHEN I DON'T KNOW THAT I THERE WAS A TIME WHEN WE WERE YOUNGER WHEN I DON'T KNOW THAT I WOULD HAVE GENUINELY CELEBRATED YOUR SUCCESSES, BUT THERE WAS A TIME FOR YOU STARTED MAKING THE MOVIE "LOOT" THAT WAS YOUR FIRST BIG SUCCESSFUL PROJECT. I THINK IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING THAT I REMEMBER FEELING OVERWHELMED WITH SUPPORT AND JOY FOR YOU. I JUST WANTED YOU TO SEE THIS CREATIVE VISION THROUGH AND NOTHING WOULD HAVE MADE ME HAPPIER THAN IT TO BE SUCCESSFUL.
_____________
DARIUS: I DON'T THINK I WOULD BE EVEN REMOTELY THE SAME PERSON HAD WE NOT BEEN FRIENDS...
_____________
DARIUS: AND WE BOTH AUDITIONED FOR IT AND AS FATE WOULD HAVE IT, YOU ENDED UP IN THE LEAD ROLE OF THAT PLAY AND WITH ALL SINCERITY YOU DID AN INCREDIBLE JOB, LIKE IT WAS ONE OF THOSE MAGICAL, I THINK YOU WOULD AGREE, ONE OF THOSE MAGICAL SCHOOL PLAYS THAT JUST IS INCREDIBLY MEMORABLE. I STILL REMEMBER IT, JUST SITTING THERE AND ENJOYING IT AND WATCHING YOU KIND OF YOUR BEST. IN I REMEMBER THEN FEELING REALLY PROUD OF YOU. I REMEMBER SITTING AND WATCHING YOU ACT AND FEELING LIKE THIS IS WHAT THIS GUY IS HERE TO DO. BECAUSE YOU WERE ON STAGE AND IT WAS SO UNDENIABLE.
_____________
DARIUS: I FEEL LIKE WE HAVE HAD A PRETTY CLEAR CHANNEL OF SUPPORT FOR EACH OTHER ALL ALONG. AND I WILL SAY, HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR YOUR SUPPORT ALL THOSE YEARS MAKING SOUND OF METAL, I DON'T KNOW THAT I COULD'VE MADE IT. THAT'S HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS, THOSE WERE HARD YEARS COME ALONG, YOU KNOW, 10 YEARS OF FAITH IN A PROCESS THAT HAD NO PROOF OF CONCEPT. SO, YOU KNOW, I NEEDED THAT SUPPORT AND YOU WERE THERE MANY, MANY, MANY TIMES OVER. I REALLY HATE TO BE SINCERE WITH YOU, I FEEL LIKE IT FEELS WRONG BUT THAT IS THE TRUTH.
____________
DARIUS: ...BECAUSE HE AND I BOTH CAME FROM SO LITTLE. I DON'T THINK WE WERE THAT AFRAID TO HAVE LITTLE. I DON'T THINK WE WERE AFRAID TO SCRAPE THE BOTTOM AND KEEP SCRAPING THE BOTTOM AND SCRAPING THE BOTTOM A LITTLE MORE.
MISHA: I HAVE HAD AN INTERESTING RELATIONSHIP WITH THAT SCARCITY DYNAMIC BECAUSE ON THE ONE THING, WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS TRUE AND I ALWAYS IN MY HEART OF HEARTS KNOWN I WOULD BE OK WITH NOTHING, I WOULD BE OK LIVING IN A TENT IF I NEEDED TO. AND THAT KNOWLEDGE PROVIDES A PRETTY BIG SAFETY NET, BECAUSE YOU NEVER WALK AROUND FEELING LIKE I NEED THIS MONEY. I KNOW I'M GOING TO BE OK.
AT THE SAME TIME, COMING FROM POVERTY, I THINK THE ALLURE OF MONEY HAS BEEN MAYBE MORE POWERFUL THAN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FOR ME OTHERWISE. IF I HAD ALWAYS HAD MONEY, I MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN SO DRAWN INTO MAKING MONEY WHEN THAT OPPORTUNITY FINALLY CAME IN MY LIFE. AND I MAY HAVE MADE CHOICES THAT DIDN'T THAT WEREN'T QUITE SO DRIVEN BY MAKING MONEY, IF THAT MAKES SENSE. AS I'M GETTING OLDER, I AM ABLE TO FORMULATE THESE THOUGHTS AND RECALIBRATE TO AN EXTENT. BUT THERE WAS A TIME WHEN I WAS MAKING MONEY JUST FOR THE SAKE OF MAKING MONEY WHEN IT WASN'T REALLY ABOUT ANYTHING CREATIVE OR BIGGER THAN THAT, AND I THINK THAT WAS A LITTLE BIT ALSO RELATED TO HAVING COME FROM POVERTY.
DARIUS: THAT IS INTERESTING, I DON'T THINK YOU'VE EVER REALLY VOICED THAT TO ME, THAT SCARCITY MODEL YOU HAD WORKING THAT WAY. THAT MAKES SENSE ACTUALLY, AND I THINK PEOPLE KNOW THIS ABOUT YOU, BUT IT WA SA LEVEL OF POVERTY THAT WAS THREATENING. IT WASN'T LIKE WE WERE KIND OF POOR OR YOU ARE SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE CLASS SPECTRUM, YOU WERE IN A SERIOUS, SERIOUS LANDSCAPE OF POVERTY.
_______________
MISHA: IT'S FUNNY, FROM THE VANTAGE POINT OF CHILDHOOD, YOU TO ME IT LOOKED JUST AWASH IN MONEY. YOUR FAMILY WAS FUCKING LOADED. AND I REMEMBER YOUR DAD, ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS OR SO WE WOULD ALL GO OUT TO PANDA EAST, WHICH IS BASICALLY THE CHEAPEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN TOWN COME UP BUT TO ME IT WAS LIKE CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT WE ARE JUST GOING OUT AND ORDERING WHATEVER WE WANT AT THIS RESTAURANT? IT SEEMED SO OPULENT TO ME. IT'S REALLY AMAZING.
______________
MISHA: I REMEMBER DRIVING UP TO PUTNEY RIGHT AFTER I GOT MY DRIVERS LICENSE, I WAS 16 AND A HALF OR 17 AND DRIVING UP ON A SCHOOL NIGHT AT 3:00 IN THE MORNING JUST TO CHECK ON YOU, BECAUSE I KNEW YOU WERE KIND OF ON THE EDGE AT THAT POINT. YOU COULD HAVE EASILY NOT SURVIVED HIGH SCHOOL AND A COUPLE OF YEARS AFTER THAT. YOU WERE REALLY ON THE EDGE.
DARIUS: IT'S TRUE.
MISHA: YOU WOULD GO FOR DAYS WITHOUT SLEEPING, YOU WERE A PSYCHOLOGICAL MESS AT THAT POINT AND I DO REMEMBER GOING UP THERE AND WORRYING ABOUT YOU AND CHECKING ON YOU.
_______________
DARIUS: I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I HAVE FOUND THAT I HAVE NOT NEEDED YOU LESS AS I GOT OLDER.
_______________
DARIUS: YEAH, SO, HERE IS THE THING ABOUT THE OSCARS. I HAVEN'T REALLY TALKED ABOUT THIS AT ALL. BUT THE OSCARS COINCIDED WITH - AS YOU KNOW, MISHA, COINCIDED WITH A REALLY CRAZY TIME FOR ME BECAUSE MY BEST HAVE A VERY SICK CHILD.
- BECAUSE I HAVE A VERY SICK CHILD. SO AROUND THE TIME OF THE TIME OF THE OSCARS, LEADING UP TO THE OSCARS IS MAYBE ONE OF THE DARKEST, MOST DIFFICULT TIMES OF MY LIFE DEFINITIVELY. AND YOU KNOW I HAVE HAD SOME DARK TIMES.
SO, SO OFTEN WE LOOK AT THESE THINGS AND IT LOOKS LIKE ONE THING. AND WE NEVER KNOW THE SUBPLOT THAT LIVES BEHIND IT, AND WE NEVER KNOW WHAT HAPPENS BEYOND THE IMAGE OF PERFECTNESS AND SUCCESS.
MISHA: I THINK THAT IS EXACERBATED IN THIS MOMENT IN OUR SOCIETY BECAUSE SOCIAL MEDIA, EVERYONE IS ALWAYS SHOWCASING THE MOST PERFECT VERSION OF THEIR WIVES AND FAMILIES.
AND OF COURSE, YOU WERE GOING THROUGH THE JUXTAPOSITION OF THAT PARTICULAR MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE, AND YOU ARE STILL GOING THROUGH THE HARD CHAPTER, APPARENT SUFFERING THROUGH A SICK CHILD AND WHAT YOUR CHILD IS GOING THROUGH IS JUST SO HARD AND SO HEARTBREAKING. AND TO HAVE THAT MOMENT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING TOWARD YOUR WHOLE LIFE, YOU JUST REACHED THE APEX OF YOUR CAREER, YOU MAY NEVER AGAIN BE AT THE OSCARS, AND ANYONE WHO EVER THINKS THEY ARE GOING TO WIND UP AT THE OSCARS IS DELUSIONAL, IT JUST DOESN'T WIND UP AT THE OSCARS IS DELUSIONAL, IT JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN. AND YET YOU HAVE FOUND YOURSELF THERE AT THIS INCREDIBLE TRIUMPHANT UNLIKELY MOMENT.
DARIUS: I DID ALWAYS KNOW I WOULD BE THERE BUT GO ON.
MISHA: AT THE SAME TIME YOU ARE SUFFERING THROUGH THE MOST EXHAUSTING AND MOST EMOTIONALLY DRAINING THING IMAGINABLE, AND IT WAS ALMOST LIKE A KIND OF CRUEL JOKE FROM THE UNIVERSE, IT SEEMED.
DARIUS: IT WAS THE CRUELEST DICHOTOMY. AND I THINK WHAT WAS IMPORTANT FOR ME AT THAT TIME IS I WAS NAVIGATING A LOT, PRESS, THE OSCARS, I WAS DIRECTING SOMETHING ELSE OF THE TIME, RUNNING BACK AND FORTH AT THE HOSPITAL, SLEEPING ON A HOSPITAL COT, DOING ALL THE STUFF, THAT I NEEDED SOMETHING NEAR ME THAT I UNDERSTOOD, YOU KNOW?
I NEEDED SOMEONE NEAR ME THAT I FELT GROUNDING RIGHT THEN. AND THAT WAS ACTUALLY THE TRUTH OF IT, IS LIKE, YOU ARE THE PERSON ON THE FACE OF THE -- FACE OF THE EARTH THAT I COULD CALL ON AT THAT MOMENT AND I NEEDED IT.
____________
These are some of the moments from the zoom. It was quite emotional as you can tell from the little bit of transcript I'm posting. You can tell how close these two are and how much they have been there for each other over the years, how well they know each other. They have one of those rare life long friendships.
I do wanna say this and I'm not saying it to be rude or anything but I remember there was a cameo that Misha did and he said he was helping a friend with a sick child and the person who bought the cameo got mad cuz their question wasn't answered and they said cruel things about Misha. Well, shame on you.
We may not have had this information at the time but you never assume when someone mentions a sick kid and don't mention how bad it is, it could be nothing or it could be something major like with Darius' kid. Misha could have not done the cameo at all but he did when he had his best friend and his best friends kid on his mind and was worried about. Shame on anyone who said mean things from that cameo. Misha always does the best he can for all of us.
Anyway, I hope we get to see more from these two in the future. They are both amazingly talented individuals.

can i get some GOOD headcanons on kageyama, kuroo, oikawa, and terushima drunkingly confessing time there best friend? similar to how tsukki did it in the number neighbors au 🥰🥰🥰
drunk confessions w/ kageyama, kuroo, oikawa, and terushima
Tumblr media
— k. tobio
OK HEAR ME OUT
kags is the type to be hella emotional when he’s drunk, like full on sobbing or just being moody for no reason
it’s definitely not that bad at first, i would think he could handle his alcohol pretty well but once he get a couple shots in THAT’S when moody kags come in
with you being the designated sober for the group, you had to not drink ofc
out of everyone else in the group he’s one of the more difficult ones
near the end of the might where you had to take everyone home, you literally had to force a sobbing kageyama into the uber
“wHY THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO DAMN CUTE FOR?”
homie would be choking in between sobs as you literally apologize to the driver
ngl it’s kinda hilarious
drunk kags = simp kags
“y/n ur so pwetty 🥺👉🏻👈🏻”
like DEADASS HES AN ENTIRELY NEW PERSON
but if he isn’t showering you with compliments, he would be crying into your shoulder about how stressed he has been bc of volleyball
“coach said my sets are getting weird 😔😔”
and then you would sit there awkwardly laughing as you tried your best comforting him
you would run your hands through his hair and he’s literally about to self combust from the contact
by the time your uber arrives to his apartment, trying to pull him out of the car is harder than pushing him into it
his six foot one ass really be making it harder than it should be
once you do finally get him out of the car, he’s completely slumped over you and you try your best to lead him back to his place
his muscular arms strategically placed around and over your shoulders as his feet basically drag on the ground
“y/n~ where are we going?”
“back to your apartment, tobio.”
this is the part where he groans and immediately starts resisting
the thing is it doesnt last long considering he’s completely fucking drained, if anything the moment you past by the threshold into his apartment he was already halfway unconscious
your muscles strained guiding him to his bedroom to which your literally just plop him onto his bed
you sigh to yourself as you felt immediate relief on your body
after a beat or two passed to regain some strength and energy, you tug on kag’s body again to make him properly lay on the bed rather than being at the cusp of falling off
“you’re so fucking heavy, tobio.” you pull his bedsheets over him, “also don’t get out of bed or else i’ll kick you.”
honestly he looked so cute as he was in the process of passing out
“y/n?” he called out before you could leave his side
“hm?”
it was then his right hand would find yours and pull it close to him, mumbling: “you treat me so well, y/n... no wonder why i’ve been in love with you since high school.”
perhaps you ended up not leaving his side that night
— k. tetsurou
homie won’t leave you alone while you guys are out drinking
HES VERY PROTECTIVE
he literally refuses to leave your side as both of you were drinking
i would say kuroo has a pretty strong alcohol tolerance but ngl yours is stronger fr
this obviously led to kuroo getting completely shitfaced at a much quicker pace than you and when he’s drunk, it’s obvious
like REALLY obvious
he’s most definitely a giggly drunk
he probably laughs at every little thing with that obnoxious hyena laugh you love to hear so much
if there was ever a moment you two did split up, you would immediately know where he was the moment his loud ass laughs literally thundered throughout the entire bar
“excuse me, have you seen my friend? he’s tall, has black hair that look’s like a chicken’s—”
*CUE LOUDASS HYENA LAUGH FROM ACROSS THE BAR*
“oop- nevermind”
you were literally on your way to fetch him as it was getting super late and the both of you needed to go home when you saw him stumbling farther away from you
“kuroo! where the hell are you going?” you would shout over the loud conversating crowds and music
he ultimately didn’t hear you as he continued walking towards the bar
you grumbled as your eyes stay locked on his large figure to which he starts climbing a bar stool
“oh my fucking god—kuroo!!”
this dude literally CLIMBS ONTO THE BAR
“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!” he yells over the large crowd, everyone’s attention is on him and you were immediately struck with second-hand embarrassment
“MAY I HAVE YOU ATTENTION PLEASE! I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT I AM LITERALY HEAD OVER HEELS FOR MY FRIEND Y/N!!”
when i tell you were wanted to drop dead then and there
your eyes widened in shock, your mouth parted, and you stood there completely paralyzed as kuroo points you out in the crowd
everyone surounding you turn towards your figure and your cheeks immediately flushed a bright red and your heart suddenly beating a thousand beats per minute
“IVE LIKED YOU FOR AGES.” kuroo continues, “AND I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF YOU FELT THE SAME”
silence filled the club like a wet blanket as you nervously chuckle
this was so awkward like it’s not even funny
“well?” a random guy from across the bar shouted
you purse your lips, “if i say yes, would you get off the bar and take me out on a real date?”
the biggest smile melted upon kuroo’s lips as he laughs
he jumps off the bar and practically cuts through the crowd just to pull you into the tightest hug you’ve ever received
“god, you’re so drunk.”
“it was my only way of getting myself to finally say it.”
— o. tooru
if you think this boy has attitude when he’s sober just wait until he’s drunk
like literally he’s so mfing sassy and for what reason ??
i dont even think this boy drinks that much let alone has a high tolerance of alcohol
oikawa’s a lightweight (i said what i said 😤)
literally if he downs anything more than three shots, he’s a literal goner
not to mention HES ABSOLUTELY WILD
drunk oikawa — the wild, sassy one
i’d say he’s pretty loud, but def not as loud or confident enough like kuroo to stand on a mfing bar and confess his love
nah, if anything, oikawa’s more rowdy when it’s a party at someone else’s house
he knows to keep himself in check if he’s drinking in public (like he knows from experience and almost got arrested one time for public indecency but it izz what it izz)
so he practically learned to control himself, but if it’s a house party ??
GIRL, YOU GOT A WHOLE STORM COMIN
knowing that it’s at a friend’s house, especially if it’s your house, he’s letting himself get completely loose
he knows you’ll take care of him anyway
throughout the night he’s literally messing around with friends, maybe a game of beer pong would usually get him drunk
put once the party’s over, he would usually be the last one to leave as he was left on your couch passed out
you didn’t even notice he was there until he started snoring
you couldn’t help but laugh at his adorable unconscious state, it was almost as if you wanted to leave him be, but you knew he had to get back home
so you stroll towards his slumped figure on the couch and kneeled on the ground
his cheek was pressed up again one of the cushions and he was dribbling a bit of saliva but you ultimately chose to ignore it
“oikawa,” you muttered as you rubbed his shoulder and shook it
he wouldn’t really respond for the first few times, but after repeating his name after a while, he would start to stir
he would groan and could barely open his eyes
half-lidded, a smile forms on his lips at the mere sight of you
“hey there gorgeous.” he slurrs through his teeth as he continued to stir
“c’mon, get up you gotta get up and go home. i called an uber for you.”
you tried helping him get up, but he just plops down again
“why can’t i stay wit you?”
“cause you don’t live here.”
“i would if we were together.”
your brows furrow in confusion, “what do you mean?”
“i always wanted to live with someone i really liked... and that’s you.” his words were almost incoherent how slurred they were through his drunkened state
“you like me?” you asked just to reassure what he mumbled was truly what you heard
he nods as you brush his tangled jungle of hair out of his face
there was a deep onset of crimson blush that appeared on your cheeks as he did so, your heart beat quickening it’s speed as you sighed in contrnt
“you act like i didn’t know this whole time. you’re quite obvious about your feelings, oikawa.”
— t. yuuji
you and terushima were club regulars
each weekend you were out with him club and bar hopping just for the fun of it
but lately, the more often you do things the more desensitized and bored you get of the same activities over and over again
you and terushima sat in both of your car ready to drive to downtown where all the clubs were when you both lazily sighed
“i’m not really in the mood for loud music and socializing.” you would confess, ready to perhaps hear terushima’s jests of you being a party pooper
but instead he sighs and agrees to your surprise as he’s typically the one dragging you to these places anyway
“same,” he mutters. “i think i’d just hangout with you tonight.”
there was a slight tone in his voice as he peaked at you that you couldnt exactly pinpoint as if you were waiting for the catch
“i still wanna drink though.” he added, there it was
“good call”
from then on you stopped by a convinient store where you and terushima buy the cheapest six pack of canned beer
in the end alcohol was alcohol and you both didnt care about the quality
this was the only case in which you had a lower tolerance than terushima as he could literally handle the strongest of liquors and still act sober
it’s kinda scary as sometimes you can never tell whether or not he’s actually drunk
but as he is a sober drunk, the only way you can tell that he’s absolutely blasted is that he becomes brutally honest with you
that brutal honesty sometimes comes with a childish offhanded joke that you would roll your eyes to
not to mention he sometimes becomes a bit of a perv too
“your ass looks better in the dress you wore last weekend” was one example
and because you both wanted some quiet for once on a late saturday night, you drove all the way to the park where it was quiet enough for you two to relax
terushima had held your hand to help you walk up the steep hill to the top of the park in which oversees a great view of tokyo
with it’s pretty city lights shining upon you two, you and terushima settle yourselves on a bench and crack open your beers
you and him cheers as you two silently sipped at the alcohol
by the time both of you were in your third can of beer, it was obvious terushima was completely wasted
“not gonna lie,” oh here it comes, “your driving sucks.”
you couldn’t help but laugh at his honesty
a laugh that he likes so much, it sounded like heaven to his ears and he wanted to make you laugh again and again
“i mean, you’re the one whose making me drive you everywhere all the time.”
he scoffs, humming in response as his half-lidded eyes flickered towards you, admiring how the moonlight reflected upon your face as you breathed in the sky
“you’re so beautiful,” he practically whispers.
“hmm?” you turn towars him with you eyes coated in honey
god he was in deep
“i like you.”
it honestly shocked you at first as your eyes widened into saucers
it was straight and brutally honest confession
just how you like it

Firsts with Kyoya
Pairing: Kyoya Ootori x f!reader Genre: Fluff, vv light smut Warnings: smut at the end. CHARACTERS ARE AGED UP
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First Meeting:
surprisingly enough, the way you two met was through his father
you just moved from America and your dad had business with Kyoya’s
after meeting you, Kyoya’s dad, Yoshio Ootori, was determined to have you meet his son
you made arrangements to come back when his son was there, wanting to please your father
it’s hard to do such a thing
you are an only child and a female
in America, it would’ve been easier to take over his company
but in Japan?
it’s near impossible now
either way, you do all you can to make the man happy
and if making an arranged marriage with this boy would do that, then you’d do it in a heartbeat
even if you’d rather marry someone you love
you came back the next day for lunch, sitting at a big table with the Ootori family and your mother and father
Kyoya was nowhere to be found
suddenly, you hear a boisterous voice come from outside of the large dining room
“But, Kyoya! I need help with my Japanese! I also want to use one of those Kotatsu things!” you hear someone shout in Japanese, but with an accent
you don’t hear a response
instead, you hear a maid softly tell the gentlemen that Kyoya’s family and the guests are waiting in the dining room
there are then quick footsteps to the dining room
two maids open the door and in strolls a blond and a raven-haired male
they both stare at Mr. Ootori before looking around the table
both of their eyes eventually stop on you
“Son, you’re late, and you brought a guest,” Mr. Ootori says with a hidden emotion
they are both silent for a moment before the blond speaks up
“Sorry, Mr. Ootori. I can leave. I held Kyoya up an-”
“It’s alright. Why don’t you both take a seat?” he says in a sugary sweet tone, motioning for a maid to set another place down for the blond
Kyoya was sat right across from you
his gaze makes you feel insecure all of a sudden
“Sorry about being so late. I’ll make it up to you somehow,” Kyoya apologizes to your family
your father speaks up first, smiling at him as he did so
“No worries, young man.”
you could hear his American accent when he spoke
he then glances at you, expecting you to say something
your eyes widen at this realization as you clear your throat
“Oh, uh, yes. It’s quite alright. We were quite early, anyway,” you reassure
Kyoya gives you both a smile, it seeming a bit fake to you but you weren’t about to call him out on it
“Let’s eat,” his father announces
from there, you ate in silence and only spoke when spoken to, just like your father taught you
about halfway through lunch, the blond started speaking to you
he introduced himself and you both started a conversation from there
you couldn’t help to let the serious facade fade and to smile at the boy
he was very sweet and funny, even if he was kind of loud
you discovered he’s quite goofy
after dinner, Mr. Ootori offered to show your dad to his office to talk further about business plans
he instructed his son to ‘entertain’ you
you, Kyoya, and Tamaki made your way out
“What would you like to do, Miss (L/n)?” Kyoya asks in a formal tone
you hold back a frown at his tone
is he always so serious?
“Let’s go to the garden! I’m sure (Y/n) would like it!” Tamaki basically shouts
Tamaki offers you his arm, which you happily take
he then leads you to the garden which you did, in fact, fall in love with
Kyoya was relieved that Tamaki was easily able to entertain you but knew his father would be mad at him if he found out it wasn’t his son who was the one entertaining you
so with that thought, he comes over to you and starts informing you on the different flowers, their meaning, etc.
you spend some time with the two boys in the garden before hearing your dad’s booming voice
you turn and see your father waiting on you, nodding your head to let him know you heard him
you turn back to the boys and flash them a smile, bowing to them since you read that’s what you’re supposed to do when thanking someone
“Thank you for showing me the garden. See ya later,” you thank before walking away to go over to your father
Kyoya’s eyes follow your figure as you leave, the gears in his mind churning
First Time Hanging Out:
Kyoya’s father never told him why exactly he had to interact with you so much
“Text Y/n.” “Invite Y/n over for dinner.” “Give Y/n a call.”
and now, he wants him to take you out
his father made reservations for you two at one of the most expensive restaurants in the area, then making plans to go see a musical
when you saw a limo outside of your house, you grew very nervous
this felt like a date
but like not a date?
Kyoya was taking you to places that couples go on dates but Kyoya just didn’t really seem interested in you?
you get into the limo with a smile slapped onto your face, kindly greeting the handsome male
he greets you before going quiet
he then remembers that he’s supposed to get you to like him or whatever his father said
so, he strikes up a conversation with you
you quietly respond as he speaks to you, feeling a little uncomfortable
about halfway to wherever you’re going, he seems to give up on talking to you
you feel a bit guilty for not really participating in the conversation but how could you?
he was acting like someone is holding a gun to his head and forcing him to talk to you
you sigh as you stare out the window, your eyes lighting up at the sight
the sun was setting, making reds and oranges paint the sky
Kyoya notices the look in your eyes, a weird feeling coming up in his chest
he helps you out of the car once you reach the restaurant, not seeing the expression on your face
the said expression on your face is one of shock
sure, your dad is a CEO of a company but that doesn’t mean you are insanely rich and get to blow your money on whatever
your dad gave you money when you asked for it
which is close to never
as you both take your seats, your entire body is stiff
you felt like if you breathed too much, you’d knock the expensive vase full of flowers off the table somehow
Kyoya notices your tense state but doesn’t comment on it
when you’re brought your menus, you try to find the cheapest thing available, which is not cheap at all in your book
you didn’t even have an appetite anymore
finally, Kyoya can’t take it anymore
“Would you like to go somewhere else?” he offers
you let out a breath of relief, nodding your head with a small smile
“Yes, please,” you whisper
he offers a hand to assist you to stand up, you lightly taking it
once outside, he turns to face you
“Where would you like to go?”
you look around before spotting a McDonald’s, smiling as you point it out
“I want to go there,” you say with a bright smile
Kyoya internally groans at the sight of the greasy place, wondering why you’d want to go there out of all places
“Alright. Let’s go,” he says in an almost monotone voice
you happily lead the way, your stomach growling a bit
you didn’t really care for McDonald’s all that much but it reminds you of home
of America
you order for the both of you and pay before he can even blink
you lead him to a table once you get your food, giggling at his expression
“You don’t have to eat it if you don’t want to.”
he studies the food as you eat a fry, acting as if it’ll start moving
“It’s fine. Besides, you paid for it,” he says softly, picking up a fry and slowly eating it
he wouldn’t admit it out loud but it didn’t taste that bad
you both eat and, surprisingly, have a proper conversation
you seemed much more relaxed and happy as you ate the fatty food
Kyoya just didn’t understand you
after you both finished eating, he told you about the musical
you agreed to go to that since you changed the food plans
you go together and you both actually enjoyed it. It was entertaining in different ways
once he takes you home, you were kind of sad to leave
he and Tamaki are the only things you have close to friends
First Dance:
okay yeah, so, normally people don’t dance unless they go to a school dance or their significant other is just that romantic
but the Ootori’s are far from normal
they hold some sort of ball every year for some reason or another (you weren’t really listening)
your father made you dress up like a princess
makeup and all (you look kinda like a clown in your opinion. Your face feels ten times heavier)
after knowing Kyoya and Tamaki for a while now, you were all kind of friends now
if you can call it that
you and Tamaki are for sure
you hang out all the time
Kyoya though?
you weren’t sure if you could call him a friend
Tamaki told you that they associate with each other because of a club
Kyoya would have no interest in him if there wasn’t something for him to gain
it broke your heart to hear that
Tamaki is such a caring person who deserves the world, in your opinion
he’s been through so much, he deserves to have a best friend
I suppose he sees you as his best friend
anyway, you eventually reach the Ootori estate after a boring drive with your father (he kept telling you how to act, eat, walk, speak, blah blah blah)
you head up the steps as soon as the door is open for you, taking in the fresh air with a smile
as soon as you get inside, you feel suffocated again
you wanted to run to the garden, which is where you normally go when visiting the Ootori’s
your father is right behind you though, leading you to the long table piled with food
you realize it’s because that’s where Kyoya is
he ‘drops you off’ there before walking away to speak to important people
Kyoya gives you a nod in acknowledgment before taking a sip of whatever he’s drinking in that fancy glass of his
you face the table and can’t help but to feel your mouth water
you’re starving
your dad is forcing you on this stupid diet to have you be thinner
‘men like their women thin,’ he said
it made you want to puke
back in America, he was a pretty chill dad
ever since we got here though, it’s like there’s a devil on his shoulder whispering all this nonsense to him
maybe it’s that Mr. Ootori...
you didn’t even realize you’re stuffing your face, literally shoving as much as you can into it, before you feel a tap on your shoulder
you’re still chewing when you turn around, seeing a slightly older gentleman offering his hand to you
“May I have this dance, Miss L/n?”
you quickly gulp down the food and take his hand with a polite smile
dad says that you should always accept offers to dance
you didn’t want to dance with this guy though
he’s not that much older than you but he’s clearly not in high school anymore
he also has too much cologne on
and you just want to stuff your face with those delicious looking Mushi Pan
but alas, you're forced to dance
it seems that a slow song starts just as you step out onto the dance floor
you’re are about a minute into the song before someone taps on his shoulder, making him pause and turn around
“May I cut in?”
the guy huffs a bit but nods his head, bowing to you a bit before stalking off
you bite back a smile as Kyoya takes ahold of your hand and waist
“Didn’t take you as a dancer,” you tease, letting your hand fall onto his shoulder
he hums as he looks anywhere but you as he replies
“I’m talented in many subjects, including dancing.”
you roll your eyes at his bragging, sighing as you look away from him
“That man was a terrible dancer,” he continues when you don’t reply
you frown at his words, refusing to look at him
“Reminds me of you trying to cook pancakes,” he teases.
you gasp in mock offense, taking your hand off of his shoulder to hit his chest
“I am great at making pancakes!” you argue, trying not to smile
a small smile graces his face as he disagrees with you, playful banter being shot between you both
neither of you realized how long you’d been dancing until his father starts making a speech (apparently he does it every year towards the end of the ball)
Kyoya leads you off the dance floor and back to the food
“I heard your stomach grumble as soon as you saw the Mushi Pan,” he teases
it’s kinda weird to hear him be so playful
you lightly shove him before grabbing one of the spongey desserts, taking a bite of half of it and moaning
“These are literally so good,” you mumble around all the food in your mouth
you were too busy falling in love with the soft yumminess in your hand to realize that Kyoya was giving you the softest look
okay, maybe he did have a soft spot for you
First Time Giving a Compliment:
you both are at that phase where accidental touches aren’t so accidental anymore and you’re a lot shyer around him now
he seems just as confident in himself as always
so, when he walks up to you while you’re talking to Haruhi and asks you to go to the mall with him
you’re shocked
you, of course, agree, trying not to blush
you both head to the mall after the club is done for the day
you both walk around, going into a few stores
neither of you really buy anything
eventually, Kyoya’s need to shower you in gifts kicks in
he leads you into a store that he thinks you like and asks what size stuff you wear
you’re embarrassed to tell him things like your pants’ size
what if he thinks you’re fat?
he doesn’t react in any sort of way really when you tell him
he then starts walking around the store, picking out things that catch his eye and things he thinks you’ll like
he then comes back to where you’re standing, admiring a necklace
he hands you a bunch of clothes and tells you to go try it on
you walk into the dressing room, trying on a pair of jeans and a shirt he picked out
he’s sitting on a plush chair and looking around when you come back out
his eyes instantly snap to yours before roaming your body
he smirks and gives a nod
“You look good.”
a blush instantly slaps onto your face, biting your lip to hide your smile
“Thank you,” you whisper
you then scurry back into the dressing room, staring at your reflection
did that just happen?
did Kyoya Ootori really just give you a compliment?
you silently squeal and jump around happily
Kyoya watches in amusement as your feet go up to hide behind the door before coming back down to meet the floor
he can clearly see you fangirling but doesn’t call you out on it
after trying on everything and picking out what you like, you both make your way to the register
as soon as the cash register says the price, Kyoya is handing over his card before you can even reach for your wallet
you gape at his card before gaping up at him
“Why would you do th—”
“Oh, I want to purchase that necklace too,” Kyoya says cooly as he points out the necklace you were eyeing earlier
“No! We don’t need anything more. Thank you,” you say before the cashier can move
they look between the two of you, trying to decide who to listen to
“Don’t waste more of your money on me, Kyoya,” you plead, already feeling bad
he sighs before waving his hand at the cashier, nodding his head
“Alright, that’ll be all.”
you relax at his words, picking up your bag once the cashier hands back your receipt and his card
you then quickly head for the exit
Kyoya whispers something to cashier before following after you
you then quickly lead the way out of the mall, feeling embarrassed and guilty for having him pay for you
Kyoya didn’t mind one bit though
he’d buy you the world if he could
First Time Giving You a Gift:
you guessed it
he went back for the necklace
and gave it to you for your birthday
your heart didn’t know what to do with itself
you ended up throwing your arms around him for a hug
he kissed your forehead and held onto you tightly
this was your first hug
and man, neither of you wanted to let go
but alas
you can’t stay in each other’s arms forever
you tried for a while though before the gang started gagging at the two of you
you pull away and smile bashfully up at him as you thank him again
he then asks if he can put it on you
you hand it over to him and turn around, pulling your hair up
he slips it between your arms and then pins it behind your neck, his hands coming to rest on your shoulders afterward
you then turn back around with one of the brightest smiles he’s ever seen
“It looks good on you,” he whispers
he gets like this now
all sweet and mushy, even in public
he liked to keep it as private as possible though, hence the whispering
you try to contain your blush, but it’s impossible at this point
“Thank you,” you say again
First Kiss:
okay so
I’m sure you guessed this as well
he initiated it
it kinda surprised and didn’t surprise you both at the same time
like
you both had your suspicions that you liked each other (it helped that literally everyone constantly told you both that you are head’s over heels for each other)
he took you on a date
and no, it wasn’t at some fancy schmancy place
it was at night when he texted you and asked to hangout
you had to sneak out of your house
and there was Kyoya waiting for you outside your house
you both were driven around for what felt like ever before finally reaching your destination
the middle of nowhere
you made a joke asking if he’s actually a serial killer and this is where he takes his victims to kill them
he, of course, joked back and said yes, but you are his favorite victim
you playfully gushed as he went to the trunk (you made another joke saying he’s getting his ax)
he pulled out a picnic basket and a couple blankets
you raised a brow as you helped him hold some of the stuff, letting him lead the way
he led you into a field, the grass going up to your thighs
then, Kyoya steps into a clearing
you actually gushed this time when you noticed it’s in the shape of a heart
“How romantic,” you teased as you set the big blanket down
it’s getting dark outside but you swore you could see a blush dusted over his cheeks
you set everything up before getting comfortable
he then pulled all the food out of the basket, making your heart melt (and your stomach growl)
he made all of your favorites
no, not the chef
he did
you gave him a kiss on the cheek before starting to dig in
you both talked to each other quietly despite the fact that you two were the only ones out there
you both admired the sun as it sets
more so you since he was too busy looking at you
you both stayed out there for hours. Cuddling, holding hands, sharing secrets, all the goods
at one point, you both had stopped talking and were just staring up at the stars
you felt eyes on you, making you turn your head to find a pair of brown-grey eyes focused on you
you blushed as you studied his eyes
he’s the only one you know with eyes like that
you couldn’t see his eyes at one point cause he closed them and leaned in, connecting your lips
your heart lurched into your throat, deciding it belonged there instead of your chest
you both kissed for a moment before pulling away
you smiled bashfully at him, feeling a blush coming back to your face
“That was my first kiss,” you admitted softly
his eyes widened before he relaxed, smiling back at you
“Me too. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did,” he whispered
you giggled like a schoolgirl at his words, nodding your head
you then leaned back in and gave him another kiss
that happened throughout the night
after he had asked you to be his girlfriend
First Time Having Sex:
(you remember that episode where Kyoya tugs Haruhi onto the bed and like get on top of her?)
(YEAH BRO)
(that shii hit different)
so
there you two were
casually hanging out with everyone on your little vacation AFTER HIGH SCHOOL AS ADULTS
Tamaki absolutely refused to let you two share a room
he said you’d be safer staying in ‘daddy’s’ room
Kyoya straight up told him, “Over my dead body.”
the twins thought it was hilarious
you ended up getting rooms right across from each other
you and Haruhi were sharing a room cause “You two can bond!”
Tamaki and his ideas, you swear
you didn’t mind though
it was fun having girly time with Haruhi
but you wanted to see your boyfriend
so, once Haruhi fell asleep, you snuck across the hall to see Kyoya
and there he sat
looking tall, dark, and handsome
he had just got out of the shower, a towel wrapped around his torso
and shirtless
cleanup in the doorway cause there’s drool everywhere
it was then you realized you never really get to see him without his glasses
he stood up silently, walking over to you
you flashed him a smile, extending your arms a bit as you waited for a hug which is normally how you greet each other
that clearly wasn’t what he had in mind
your eyes widened as he tugged on your arm and forced you onto the bed
you’re pretty sure your heart flew out of your chest and is now somewhere on the floor
he quickly crawled onto the bed and hovered over you, staring down at you with clouded eyes
“Oya?” you whispered your nickname for him, your eyes wide as he just silently took you in
you hadn’t changed out of your swimsuit yet from being on the beach all day
you had one of his button-up t-shirts on though, which was enough to cover you up
he didn’t reply as he leaned down to connect your lips
normally, your kisses don’t last long and are super sweet
or are passionate and include some groping
this kiss though? It felt fiery and new and exciting
you instantly returned it, humming softly
his hands started to roam, starting at your thighs and ending up on your stomach
he then lifted his hands to start to undo the buttons of his shirt
once the buttons were all undone, his hands go back to wandering
he stopped below your chest and pulled back to look down at you, silently asking for permission
you let out a shaky sigh and nod of your head
after experimenting with your chest, he started to get serious
foreplay lasted for a good bit, seeing as how this is both of your first time doing it together
when it came time to do the actual deed, he pulled away to go to the table he was sitting at previously
you watched him with furrowed brows, your naked body going cold without his touch
he picked up his wallet and pulled out a condom, turning to you with a smirk
you snorted with a raise of your brow, leaning back on your elbows
“You brought a condom? Confident are we?” you teased
he smirked darkly as he walked back over to you, standing by the side of the bed as he slipped it on
“I didn’t bring just one,” he said in a deeper tone than normal
your face instantly got hot
he then took his time with you
letting you adjust and making love to you
he wanted it to be perfect for you
for the both of you
you felt like you were in heaven
though, god was probably frowning at you
you snorted in the middle of Kyoya pulling out to thrust back in
“Are you laughing at me?” he questioned with a brow going up to hide in his loose hair
he didn’t even bother giving you a chance to reply and explain
he just started going faster, making you forget anything you were going to say
once you both climaxed, he cleaned you both up before holding you in his arms
you didn’t mean to fall asleep in his arms
but you did
the next morning, Tamaki came to Kyoya’s room to wake him up, seeing as how everyone else was already at breakfast except for you and him
Haruhi said you weren’t in the room and she figured you went to the beach as soon as the sun started to rise since you talked about wanting to go shell hunting while enjoying the sunrise
he didn’t bother knocking and just walked in
he yelped in surprise and turned around, getting that famously dark blush of his
Kyoya had his famous murder gaze as you held him back
“I swear I didn’t see anything!” Tamaki yells as he takes off down the hallway

Passion Project
Summary: artist!yoongi x poet!reader. yoongi and yn are friends that are attending the same university. in need of a muse for his latest assignment, yoongi turns to you for a rather intimate portrait.
Genre: fluff, fluff, and more fluff
Warnings: some swearing, teeth rotting, heart aching, cliche ass fluff
a/n: This is my contribution to the @heartsforbtsnet’s “The Chronicles of y/n” collab. It was tough for me to write only fluff, but I loved it. I love Yoongi 🥺. There will be an nsfw follow-up piece.
WC: 3830
Everyone always said “don’t go to art school,” and “what are you going to do with a fine art degree?”
You didn’t know, but you knew what you loved. Your passion is split between creative writing and film photography. You would give anything to be able to write poetry for a living, but you know that you’re no Rupi Kaur. Opportunities for poets aren’t very common. But you remained true to yourself, writing everything at every given opportunity.
You fell in love with photography at 13. You had saved up all of your spare money for a year to be able to take Film Photography 101 at the local youth center. From the first roll of film that you processed, you were in love. And now you’re here. Studying the things you love most.
You were filling an elective requirement and taking an intro to drawing course. Most of the people in there were musicians or writers or photographers like yourself. One of them was the music production and painting major Min Yoongi. You thought it was weird to see him in that class the first time you saw him there. Painters usually knew at least a little bit about drawing.
The first day of class, you’d gone around the room and said who you were and what you hoped to get out of the class. You had said your name and that you hoped to gain any skills in drawing at all. Min Yoongi had said that he struggled with still life, focusing mainly on the abstract in his paintings. He wanted to get better at figures. You could relate because you could draw a pretty decent mountain range, but a person? Forget it.
You knew Yoongi from around campus. A friend of a friend, kind of deal. You sat beside him and another Photography major that you get along with, Jeon Minju. Minju is sweet and silly. Yoongi is quiet and sarcastic. It was a weird juxtaposition that you found hilarious. Drawing might just be your favorite class this semester for that simple reason.
The class started out easy enough. Only drawing shadows. One continuous line drawing. Your favorite was playing with charcoal. It was just fun to manipulate and smudge. You loved playing with negative space and light. And getting your fingers covered made you feel like a child playing with chalk.
Yoongi and Minju were both good with light as well. Yoongi’s shadow drawings were incomparable with the rest of the class. You kept thinking to yourself that it was absurd he was here.
Until it came time for figure drawing.
That’s when you realized that though most artists can figure out light and shadows...figures are something completely their own. You listened carefully to every word from the professors mouth, trying to improve your craft. You were not great by any definition of the term, but man, were you better than Min Yoongi. His drawings looked like they were done by first graders who were trying their hardest to make anything look right but just couldn’t get it.
You tried to encourage Yoongi and not laugh at his drawings, but sometimes it was hard when the person in it looked like a straight up penis.
“Dude,” you said to him once, “you’ve seen a person before, right?”
He had blushed crimson and turned away from you. You felt a little guilty about making him embarrassed, and you tried to walk it back. The damage had already been done, and he didn’t show you any of his drawings for 2 weeks. When he finally showed you one, it was so much better.
“Yoongi, honestly I’m sorry I made fun of you, but this is so good.”
It wasn’t “so good,” but it was pretty good. You wanted to boost his confidence. It seems to work all right, and he starts showing you more of his drawings. You feel a slight feeling of redemption inside at fixing your own mistake.
Over the course of the semester, you, Yoongi, and Minju spent a lot of time together. Something about bonding over the stress of not being good at drawing had bonded the three of you. Every Thursday you eat lunch together at the taco stand in the student center. You even organized a couple of movie nights, watching B-movies together and laughing at how terrible they are.
Birdemic: Shock and Terror was one of your favorites. The three of you had laughed so hard at it because none of it made any sense, and it looked like it was filmed on the cheapest piece of crap camera in the weirdest locations possible.
You sat in your living room, eating popcorn and chips, watching the movies together. It started out kind of awkwardly keeping your distance from each other. Minju on one side of you, Yoongi on the other.
You kept your shoulders away from both of theirs, tending to lean further toward Minju just because you didn't want to make Yoongi uncomfortable. You felt unsure about him at first. Soon you'd started to get to know him more, and you learned that he wasn't cold like he had initially seemed. He was funny and sarcastic. You loosened up. You didn't mind if your shoulder brushed his or if the two of you shared a snack, occasionally brushing finger tips.
It was comfortable, your friendship with Minju and Yoongi. The three of you nearly inseparable. Your schedule coincided with Yoongi’s more than Minju’s, so you ate lunch together nearly everyday, swiping into the dining hall and finding his friends or yours. They knew now to save 2 seats for both of you.
The two of you were nearly inseparable except for when you were in classes. He would meet you in the quad, paint splatters on his face and hands, beaming at you. It was such a seamless friendship. He was an introvert who was kind of over people. You were an introvert who was kind of over people. It just clicked.
****
One night in November, you had a movie night planned with Minju and Yoongi. Minju calls you around 6pm panicking because she hasn’t finished one of her photography projects. You had finished it earlier in the week, and you offer to come down to the photography building to help her. She insists that she wants to do it on her own, but she won’t be able to make the movie.
You tell her it was no big deal and that you can reschedule for another time. You text Yoongi, and he asks if you still wanted him to come. At first you want to say no because you aren’t going to end up watching the movie you planned. Then you decide that it would be nice seeing Yoongi anyway. He is one of your best friends anyway, so why not?
When Yoongi arrives at your door, he’s wearing a gray beanie with a square, unamused gray smiley face on it. He has one AirPod in one ear. His slight frame is clothed with a gray hoodie with a white shirt poking out the bottom. He has on fitted, tapered sweatpants with a white stripe down the side. Quintessential cozy Yoongi.
He has a brown bag in his hand that you can tell is full of food. There’s a small damp spot on the side from condensation.
“I brought food,” he says with a shrug.
He makes his way to your couch like he lives there himself. He tosses the bag down on the coffee table, plops down on the couch, and begins to rummage through the paper sack. He pulls out several different containers, each holding some of your favorite foods. You feel a weird feeling in your chest as you watch him sitting there, casually opening the lids on each of the takeout containers.
You shake off the feeling and sit next to him. You dig into the food, picking out pieces of oi kimchi with your chopsticks and popping them into your mouth. Looking at the table, you see that Yoongi got extra of your favorite, oi kimchi, even though he doesn’t like it very much. You smile at the sight of it then keep eating.
The two of you sit in near silence, chewing away on the samgyeopsal and galbi.
You turn to him and ask, “Do you want to watch a movie? It’s almost Thanksgiving. We could watch my all time favorite Thanksgiving movie.”
“Two questions,” he replies. “One: THERE ARE THANKSGIVING MOVIES? Two: YOU HAVE A FAVORITE!?”
“Well, one, yeah. And two, of course.”
You switch on the TV and click over to the hard drive that you have connected to it. You hover over the title “Thankskilling” and turn and look over at Yoongi. He reads the title and chokes slightly on his food. A satisfied smile spreads across his face, and he nods at you. Both of you turn your attention back to the screen.
The two of you laugh out loud immediately upon, “Nice tits, bitch!” being uttered by the turkey. Yoongi laughs hard out loud.
“Oh, I am so excited about this,” he utters.
The movie continues on, you and Yoongi laugh and add commentary as you watch. The tears brim in your eyes as you watch, and Yoongi grabs your leg hard as he laughs at “Gobble, gobble, motherfucker.”
You look down at his hand on your knee and stare at it for a moment. You feel weird seeing it there, but it doesn’t feel wrong. It feels warm, calming, and comfortable. Yoongi turns and sees his hand resting on your leg. He immediately pulls it away and looks up at you, cheeks turning pink. You turn away and try to pretend like you didn’t feel something in the pit of your stomach.
The rest of the movie, the two of you sit a little further apart from one another, still laughing and commenting the whole time. When the movie is over, you chat, turning slightly toward one another, joking about the turkey and school with one another.
After an hour, your roommate walks into the apartment from her study group with her friends. She looks up at the two of you on the couch and raises her eyebrows.
“Sorry, yn, I didn’t realize you had a date tonight. I would have stayed out longer.”
You feel the heat coming to your cheeks, and you drop your head. “It’s not a date. It’s just Yoongi,” you snap as quickly as possible.
You don’t look at Yoongi at all, so embarrassed by Jinhee’s comment.
“Well, I gotta go,” Yoongi mutters awkwardly next to you.
He gets up and stalks out the door quickly past Jinhee. He barely tosses a “goodbye” your way as he makes his way into the hallway. You glare at your roommate, and when she closes the door you roll your eyes.
“Thank you so much for making that as awkward as possible,” you say and begin cleaning the food off the coffee table. You sulk off into your bedroom as soon as you have cleaned up. Jinhee shouts sorry after you.

Near the end of the semester, the professor assigns you a project. Any medium that you want to use to draw. 5 human figure drawings.
Passion.
That’s it. That’s the whole prompt. He didn’t give you any more information. He just said passion. When asked by students, he did say that it could be the same figure or 5 different figures. Any size. Any paper. Any style. And an author’s statement about the techniques used and how it represents passion.
Easy enough. But challenging in so many ways. You decided to draw your 5 best friends - Jungkook, Jimin, Hoseok, Namjoon, and Seokjin. The passion there would be the different passions you see within all of them. Jungkook’s passion for boxing. Jimin’s passion for baking. Hoseok’s passion for dance. Namjoon’s passion for social justice. Seokjin’s passion for acting. Together, the five of them were the most passionate people that you know. They were chasing their dreams, and it helped you feel like you could absolutely complete the assignment.
Yoongi was a different story. He seemed panicked from the moment the professor said that it was figure drawings. You could see him wracking his brain for something that could represent passion to him. You wanted to grab his hand and comfort him, tell him it would be okay.
You and Minju chatted excitedly after that class about the ideas that you had. Yoongi lagged behind, dragging his feet slightly. At the lunch table in the dining hall, Yoongi seemed distracted, poking his food and barely eating.
“Yoongi, what’s your deal, man?” Minju asks, a small smirk on her face.
“I’m not sure,” he says in a faint voice.
Minju turns to you and shrugs. You keep working on your bowl of cereal. You know it’s not the most nutritious meal, but hey, you’re in university. This is the time to eat cereal for every meal. You aren’t sure what you could even do for Yoongi, and you’re pretty sure the project is getting to him. He was fine before class started.
“Hey, Yoon, is it the project getting to you?”
“I just don’t know what to do,” he grumbles.
“Well, that’s okay, Yoongi. You have some time,” Minju pipes.
You stuff another bite of cereal into your mouth, looking between the two of them. You aren’t sure what you could even encourage him to do because you know him, but you don’t really know his passions beyond painting and music.
“Maybe you could draw something that has to do with painting?” you ask between bites.
“I just don’t know,” he says and turns his eyes back down to the plate in front of him.
The three of you sit in awkward silence eating your food. You are unsure how to comfort your friend, but you don’t want to push him any further. When lunches ends, you all go to your classes, saying brief awkward goodbyes.
*******
You hardly see Yoongi except for in class over the course of the next two weeks. He’s a little distant and stoic in class, so you just focus your attention on drawing your final project. You love the way that the shadows you create on the paper show the love and beauty within your friends. They aren’t perfect drawings, but you see each of your friends in each of the drawings.
For your artist statement, you decide to describe the technique and medium normally but write the statement about them into poems.
Seokjin. Charcoal on paper. The faces you wear Hide the pain within you You put on each of your masks Dazzling the crowd Your eyes sparkle They tell the story Of your life And the thousand others You play
Namjoon. Graphite on paper. Someone said You couldn’t do it When in reality You were doing it all along You hold up the world Against the light To see it for what it is Examining it like a researcher Like a warrior You won’t stop
Hoseok. White charcoal on black paper. Your movements Fluid Like water Dancing Lapping at the shore
Your passion Love Like the moon Pulling Pushing the passion from within you
Jimin. Graphite on paper. Like the cinnamon roll. You are warm and sweet. Filled with love and spiciness. Without the tang of the cinnamon, The sugar would be too sweet. Without the sugar, The cinnamon would bite too hard. You, like the cinnamon roll, Are a comfort A joy A love To be savored.
Jungkook. Charcoal on canvas. The sweetest and softest. The kindest and brightest. The golden boy. The strongest and the fiercest. The boldest and the truest. My golden maknae.
You looked at your drawings and the pages, the short poems. You feel a pride inside that swells in your chest as you breathe deeply, looking down at it. The way that you feel like the aura of each of your friends radiates from the pages. Even from the black and white, you can feel Hoseok’s orange, Seokjin’s pink, Jungkook’s red, Jimin’s purple, and Namjoon’s blue. The warmth of them jumps off the page.
You wonder to yourself how Yoongi is doing. You send him a text, and he doesn’t respond. You assume he’s working hard on all of his classes because it’s the end of the semester. Personally, you’ve put together a portfolio of 200 poems and completed a photo folio. You were burned out, and you felt like the drawings took the most time for you. You can imagine that with painting and drawing, Yoongi is swamped.
You see him on the day that you’re supposed to have a gallery walk for all of the classes final projects. He isn’t in the room at first when everyone starts setting up, their pieces and their statements displayed together. He jogs into the room a little late with papers stuffed under his arm, pressed against his side.
He lays out his drawings hastily and flops down a paper in front of them in the last open spot. He doesn’t greet you and Minju, but you figure he’s just stressed. The class begins, and you make your way around the room. You read each artist’s statement carefully, feeling self-conscious about yours when you read the explanations that your peers wrote. Much more in-depth about the topics and the subjects. You worry about your grade.
You make your way to Minju’s, and you smile at the drawings of cameras and photographers. Minju is so committed, so passionate about photography. You can feel her smile in each of the drawings. They’re not perfect, but they are pretty good. Minju was the most talented of the three of you. The smile creeps across your face again as you read the words detailing her love for photography, the way a camera feels in her hand, the joy she feels when the developer starts to reveal the image.
When the timer goes off, you continue to move. There are a few more that you read before you arrive at Yoongi’s. You stare at the pages, your eyes darting around the page at each of the features. Your breath catches in your throat, and your stomach does a flip. There’s no way.
On the pages before you, you see the curve of your own nose and cheeks. The way your hair rests against your collarbone. The glitter in your eye. You can’t mistake the face and body that you see in the mirror every single day.
You snatch the artist’s statement off the desk and pull it close to your face. Your eyes scan the words as tears start to well your eyes.
Passion. To me passion is the way that you can watch any B movie and find the good in it. Passion is how you write poem after poem, searching for the precise word. Passion is the way that you want to capture every beautiful moment on film. Passion is your smile as you read a text from your mother. Passion is the way that you bite your fingernails when you’re thinking hard. Passion is the way that your pen moves on the paper as your forehead crinkles. Passion is the way you make me feel. Passion is you. Graphite on paper.
You can’t stop the tears that fill your eyes, and your heart is pounding in your chest. You turn and scan the room. You can’t see Yoongi through the sea of bodies across the room. The feeling overwhelms you, so you decide to take a moment in the hallway. No one will notice you're gone.
Once in the hall, you take a deep breath. You hear a shuffling down the hallway from you. You snap your head toward the sound, and there stands a cat-like man in a black sweatshirt and a gray beanie. He’s looking at you with a sadness in his eyes, and the tears start to fall from your eyes.
“Why are you crying?” Yoongi asks, walking toward you.
You shake your head unable to form the words.
“Did you see it?” he asks, timidly. “Oh my god, you hate it!”
He turns his face away from you, but he doesn’t walk away. He brings his thumb up and wipes a tear away from your cheek. You sniffle and wipe the tears from the other side. Your eyes finally meet his.
“No, I didn’t hate it, Yoongi. So far from that.”
A light spreads to his eyes and across his face. “Really?”
“Yoongi, those things that you wrote. Did you mean that?”
With a smile on his lips, he gently grabs your chin and says, “I meant every single word of it. Over the last few months, things have seemed...lighter. Brighter. You’ve done that in my life. My paintings are more bright, with warmer colors. Hell, I’ve been whistling. You make everything seem okay. Honestly, yn, you make me so happy, it’s stupid.
“Yoongi, I feel the same way. You should read the sappy poems that I’ve been writing. You have changed me for the better. I look forward to talking to you every day. I light up if your name shows up on my phone.”
You mean to say more, but at that moment, Yoongi tilts your chin toward him and presses his lips against yours. His mouth is soft and pillowy; the sweet minty flavor in his mouth draws you in further. You kiss him more deeply and wrap your arms around his neck. When the two of you separate, you smile at him. You can’t help but be reminded of Cho Chang in Harry Potter. You kiss the boy that you like so much while there are tears on your face.
The classroom door clicks, and you hear a familiar voice from the room.
“Oh god. It’s about time you too,” Minju calls toward you. She giggles then you hear the door click shut.
“As much as I love this moment, we should probably get back inside and get back to class,” you whisper against Yoongi’s lips.
“I don’t want toooooooo,” he whines and kisses you again.
You pull away from him and lace your fingers through his. You pull the reluctant man toward the classroom. He whines and moans the whole time, but eventually, he gives in and enters the classroom with him.
After the class period is over, you and Yoongi walk down the hall with Minju, you two holding hands. You kiss him on the cheek, and Minju murmurs, “gross.”
“I don’t even care what grade I get,” Yoongi says. “I got the best possible thing from that class.”
He looks at you and both you and Minju, and the two of you groan at the cheesy comment.
“What? I mean the ability to draw better,” he laughs. “Oh!? Did you think I meant you? Look, you’re great, but I mean...I’m an amazing drawer now.”

The warm sunlight woke you up as it was hitting your eye and immediately afterwards the smell of coffee hit your nose, making you sit up in your bed.
You yawned and stretched a bit before getting up and going into the bathroom to get ready for the day.
Usually it would be a normal day of work for you and your roommate Sugawara, but you were lucky to be able to take the day off today.
You felt yourself getting giddy as you thought about the events of today. Finally you´d see your old high school friends again! It´s been way too long and you couldn´t wait to meet them in person after all these years. You made sure to stay in contact but still, talking on the telephone wasn´t the same as meeting in person.
Sure, you former third years met up as often as you could, occasionally some of the others would join but it was simply impossible for your schedules to work out for all of you. And the reason for your meeting was something you were beyond excited for: it was the game between the Adlers and the Black Jackals, teams consisting of some of your old acquaintances as well.
“I can´t believe Shoyo is back!” you went downstairs in your pajamas to greet Sugawara who was just reading the newspaper.
“Yeah me too. And that he made it into the team after the years he was gone… I can´t wait to see him” he smiled at you and handed you some breakfast.
You thanked him and joined him, immediately starting to eat. This whole day felt so sentimental, it was weird not to stand on the sidelines anymore, it felt so wrong not to calm Hinata, Yachi and Yamaguchi down before the match. You missed being a part of this, but more than anything you were so proud of Hinata to make his debut in such a renowned team.
When he told you that he met Oikawa in Argentina you were quite surprised, he really did come around, yet something about this whole match didn´t sit right with you.
It was unfamiliar, even uncomfortable to see Kageyama in the opposing team. They once were the duo that always thought of something new and crazy, always up for the unexpected, and now they were rivals.
Bokuto had promised you that his new setter Atsumu was just as good, but you had to see that for yourself.
“I´m so excited to see Daichi and Asahi as well, it´s been too long. I´m so glad we´re able to watch this game with our friends” you exclaimed, making Suga laugh slightly.
“I´m just glad we worked so well and got done grading so quick, imagine having to work today” he sighed. You worked at the same school as teachers while Asahi was studying abroad and Daichi became a police officer.
It truly was amazing what had happened ever since you graduated.
College was absolute chaos, Suga and you were roommates ever since you could remember, but managing the work for the classes, the essays, the practical semester, the jobs to pay the rent… it was stressful.
Somehow being out of college and finally teaching was way more relaxing than college itself.
And now you would see Hinata and Kageyama going up against each other, it was terribly exciting, yet you didn´t want any of them to lose. It was like you raised them after all.
Well, you were just a mere manager then, but still, you got quite attached to those two and were pretty sad when you graduated with the others.
“Don´t ruin the mood, Suga!” you whined and he apologetically raised his hands in the air.
You really didn´t want to imagine the mountain of paper work that usually waited for you in the office.
“We should probably get going to get good seats” you reminisced and Suga nodded.
You went back up to your room and went to your drawer, planning to just pull out whatever and throw it on as you usually did.
But something made you stop. This oh so familiar fabric, the scent was long gone and yet you swore you could still smell him on it.
Without thinking about it, you put on the hoodie that Kuroo once had given to you when you were still together.
The thought of him made you smile, yet it left a bittersweet sting in your heart. You really thought you were meant to be, your relationship endured all of high school and even the first year of college, but that was it. With him being in Tokyo and you in Miyagi, the distance was just too much. And with all the exams and studying you couldn´t even talk that much.
It made you really sad, that was already in the past but you still weren´t over him quite yet. It made you feel pathetic.
But was it really so wrong to want something that you didn´t even fight for? Neither of you did, you just accepted the fact that the distance was too great, which was stupid. You thought too much about it, about him. You only knew what he was doing through Hinata who got the information from Kenma.
Did you even have the right to be in his life anymore? If he wanted you to be, he´d reach out.
But maybe he thought the same, yet you didn´t want to text him, fearing to annoy him in some way.
Wearing his hoodie felt as if he was here with you, you swore you could still smell him on the fabric, but that was hardly possible. Maybe you just liked to imagine that. As you liked to imagine his hands around your waist, his head nuzzled in your neck as he told you how unfair it was that his hoodie looked so much better on you.
With one last sad smile you joined Suga in the car to drive to the stadium.
You were lucky since you left your home early and got a nice parking lot that was near the stadium.
You basically ran all the way to the entrance to see the others, Suga following close behind.
Neither him or you could contain your smile as you saw Asahi and Daichi waving over at you, once you finally made your way through to them, you initiated a big group hug.
This.
You missed this, this feeling, their laughter echoed in your heart, almost bringing tears to your eyes, never did you want to think about losing touch or losing them, it would be too devastating.
As you walked in, you first bought some onigiri from Osamu and caught up with each other.
“Isn´t that Kuroo´s sweater?” Daichi pointed out once you all sat down, you luckily managed to get good seats.
The question made your heart sting, you had no right to wear it, yet you did, chasing after something long gone.
“Yeah, it is… it´s weird isn´t it?” you softly said with a sad expression on your face.
“I don´t think it is, you broke up and still loved each other. I think it´s more hurtful to break up with someone when you´re both still in love. If it would´ve been a bad break up you´d be over it by now. But you still love him, so naturally it hurts more. Besides, he never came to get it back, so there´s really nothing wrong in wearing it” Daichi explained, making that fuzzy void in your heart appear again.
“Don´t you think it´s pathetic that I still love him?” you whispered again, a frown appearing on your face.
“No, it isn´t. Besides, I bet he still loves you too. Trust me, the decision wasn´t easy for him either” Suga added, but before anyone else could say anything to that, the players walked onto the court and a big grin formed on your face as you saw them.
It was weird, you cheered for both teams and very loudly at that, but you missed this.
You missed the adrenaline, the absolute awe of seeing Bokuto´s service ace, seeing Hinata fit in so well, seeing the odd quirks each player had, how far they´ve all come.
It made you sentimental, thinking back on the time you had your first training camp. The same feeling of nervousness and the unexpected was what you felt right now.
That´s also when you met Kuroo first.
He was such a dork back then and the whole process of asking you out was awkward, but the memory brought a big smile to your face and your heart clenched.
You remembered him texting you about his day and when you finally could meet, you´d lay in his bed and listen to songs that reminded him of you.
In the first year of college, you explored the cheapest shops you could find in each other´s city, he got you a cute key chain that broke ten minutes afterwards.
And when you went out to eat in that ramen shop in the back alley that looked really sketchy only to rush through the rain after.
And then it was over just like that.
Because no matter how hard you tried, it wasn´t enough.
You didn´t even realize you were crying until Suga pointed it out when the game was over.
“I´m fine...” you sniffed: “Just thinking about him. Again...” you groaned and wiped your tears away in frustration.
“I should be over it, shouldn´t I?” you whispered.
The teams were already off the court, showering and getting dressed for the interviews.
You excused yourself to go to the restroom, you couldn´t be this glum today when you were with all your friends, it wasn´t fair.
The chattering of the crowd around you was blocked out by you, it was mere white noise, you kept your eyes fixed on the ground as you made your way through the masses, until…
“(Y/N)? Is that you?” you stopped in your tracks, you must´ve heard wrong, but when you turned around to face the owner of the voice, it really was Kuroo.
It was like fate was making a sick joke about you.
You pondered whether you should face the situation like an adult or just make a run for it, the more seconds you stared at him in shock, the latter sounded greater than anything else.
He hadn´t changed at all, well, other than the suit he was wearing. It was something you never thought you´d see him in, something so official and important looking, you always thought he´d look out of place in it, but seeing him like this now made butterflies erupt all over again.
“Tetsu...” you whispered, as if to make sure it was real, as if to make sure it wasn´t just a stupid daydream of yours.
He fought his way through the masses to get to you and for some reason you let him.
Maybe you were like a deer in the headlights, frozen in fear, or maybe you were just curious where this would go.
“Hey, it´s been a while… I didn´t think I´d see you here today” he said, awkwardly scratching his head.
He cursed himself internally for calling out to you, this was a stupid idea. What was he thinking? That you´d jump in joy to see him? That you´d run to him and throw your arms around him like nothing ever happened? Yeah, bullshit.
None of that would happen, you didn´t miss him. He fucked up and regretted it more than anything else, and now he had the audacity to actually approach you again? Great job, Kuroo…
“Well, me neither…” you said at the lack of better words.
You just wanted your heart to stop pounding so much, you cursed your feelings.
“You look great” he said, voice cracking a bit, he was trying his hardest to keep his cool, not to break down crying in front of you. He saw your puffy eyes and it broke your heart, it broke his heart how wrecked you were when you broke up, how utterly defeated you agreed with him that this was for the best.
“Thanks…. You too. I never thought I´d see you in a suit” you commented, trying your best to sound neutral but you couldn´t hide the way your voice shook.
He nodded, letting out a short shaking laugh and explained his career path to you, you just nodded along, smiling in pain and congratulating him.
At least he chose something that made him happy in the end…
“I can´t believe my hoodie still looks better on you… didn´t think you´d keep it after everything” he said quietly.
He looked into the distance, not having the guts to look you in the eyes, but it was the same for you. Yours were still glued on the floor.
“I don´t know why I did” you admitted and somehow his heart clenched at that.
“I´m sorry. I know it´s way too late for that, but if I had my priorities straight back then, if I had fought more for us, maybe we could´ve been together still” he blurted out without thinking, all of his regret was apparent in his voice and it took you aback.
“Fuck. I´m sorry, that was stupid… I don´t wanna put any pressure on you, it wasn´t your fault, I just… I really miss you. But it´s not my place to say anymore, I´m sorry” he did it again, screwing things over and making them worse than they were.
Kuroo was about to leave to interview Hinata when you stopped him.
“I miss you too… it wasn´t just your fault, Tetsu… I shouldn´t have let you go just like that” you announced, admitting that it didn´t sit right with you how you just broke up without a real reason for it.
He gave you a warm smile.
“Do you think we could try again? And this time do it right?” he chuckled, to which you nodded heavily, smiling right back at him.
You just couldn´t let go of each other, you didn´t want this warm feeling to ever disappear.
“I´d love that. We should get coffee sometime when you´re free.” you suggested and quickly exchanged numbers before he had to excuse himself to get to the interview.
Kuroo apologized for being late to Hinata and you went back to your friends with a smile you couldn´t shake.
