MLB Rewrite: Origins prt. 1 &2
Note- I'm using (POV) to mention who the 'camera' is following for the most part. Also I skim over things that happen nearly the same as in cannon.
Hawkmoth Re-design
Origins Part 1
(Hawkmoths POV)
Starts the same with Nooroo explaining the miraculous and Hawkmoth’s first transformation, though we wouldn’t see him outside of his hands. As the butterflies crowd him to transform a scream of pain rings from his throat.
(Fu’s POV)
Like before, Wayzz fills Master Fu in on the butterfly being active. But I’m gonna pull from the movie's idea of letting Tikki and Plagg choose their own wielders. Fu does bring them to the school though with the intent of choosing a young initiate.
(Marinette’s POV)
Marinette is 16 years old, this is her Junior year.
Marinette meanwhile has had a day of it. Working herself up over everything she might need for her first day and nearly being late after reorganizing her bag for the 4th time that morning. Finally, Sabine dragged her downstairs and Tom gave her the macarons.
(Adrien’s POV)
Adrien is also 16 at the moment.
Boy is forever trying to get educated but gets caught by Nathalie.
(Fu’s POV)
Master Fu briefly loses Plagg before seeing a black cat sitting on the back of Adrien’s car as it drives away. Since he saw Adiren get in, and the boy’s face is all over Paris, he knows who his Cat is.
Marinette still saves Fu’s life as he had run into traffic looking for Plagg and paused in the middle of the road after seeing him. Tikki jumps into Marinette’s bag while she’s picking up the macarons.
Content Fu heads home.
(Marinette's POV)
Chloe basically just says “Switch.” And Marinette decides it honestly is not worth the hustle and does. Alya introduces herself and berates Chloe’s actions to which Marinette shrugs and says, “I don’t really care, she probably has a reason.”
“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good people to do nothing.”
“A nice rule, but remember you can’t judge someone evil based on their first impression. You never know what they could be going through.”
(Adrein’s POV)
It fades to Adrien being told his father is busy and can’t scold him right now. Once Adrien goes back to his room he finds a cat sitting on his table, confused he tries to approach it but the animal just bounds away. But on the table still, is a ring box.
(Ivan’s POV)
Que Kim and Ivan’s argument. A black butterfly lands on the crumpled up paper. All that we see or hear is the mask appearing on Ivan’s face and Hawkmoth's voice. “Stoneheart, I am Hawkmoth. You feel unsupported, and unseen. Allow me to harden your heart and take that pain away.”
(Adrein’s POV)
Adrien is observing the ring when a quiet meow is heard behind him. The cat is balanced in the back of his couch and looks between the ring and Adrien.
“You want me to put it on?” He asks and gets a purr in return. He does and there is a flash of light.
(Marinette’s POV)
Worrying herself to death over Alya chasing the monster, but too scared to follow her. Marinette finds a box that had fallen out of her bag. A ladybug lands on the box.
“Bug Mouse!” And the cup things.
As Tikki explains, Marinette is working herself into a fit. She’s terrified, but Tikki assures her that very little harm can come to her in the suit. That she’ll have a partner to help her, and that it will give her a chance to protect Alya. Unwilling to not even try when an innocent person is being puppeteered by an evil asshole she agrees.
Ladybug Re-design
Chat Noir Re-design
Key Power differences:
Ladybug:
Lucky Charm is specifically stated to give you a solution, not just an object. The object is only to point you in the right direction.
Purification allows her to cleanse the akuma.
Miracle Cure allows the world to heal from and injuries caused by a miraculous (Only Physical Damage) "Miraculous *Insert Name*"
Cat:
Cataclysm can either turn an object to dust or cause it to stop functioning.
Purgation destroys the dark energy in an akuma
Miracle Purge allows the world to burn out any effects a miraculous had on a person (Only works on Non Physical Effects) "Miraculous *insert Name*"
(Marientte’s POV)
They meet about the same way as cannon. The fight up to a point is pretty similar, except Marinette is very thinly veiling her utter panic with humor. Chat picks up on this and starts cracking jokes to help put her at ease.
After breaking the akumatized object they part ways, but the butterfly goes “Oops, bye bitch.”
Tikki’s like- “So you got the akuma right? Right?”
“I can’t do this Tikki, I couldn’t even listen long enough to know what my one job was. There are two many bad things that could happen, and all I can think about is how I can continue to mess things up in the future. Paris doesn't need a Ladybug who can’t trust herself. You deserve better.”
She removes the earrings and puts them back in the box.
Marinette goes to sleep with plans to give up the miraculous to Alya in the morning.
The akuma is targeting people who had been rejected or feel unseen, turning them to stone more medusa style statues than Stoneheart’s golem influences.
Marinette wakes up late that night to the miraculous in its box buzzing, asking to be let out.
She goes to beg Tikki to please choose someone else. Except when she picks up the box the earrings shoot from the box. It leads her down and out of the house. To a stone woman frozen in misery.
Marinette can’t stand to see someone suffering like this and tells herself she’ll do what she can to help until either Stoneheart is defeated or she can hand the miraculous off to Alya.
Origins Part 2.
In the morning, Marinette finally returns home to get ready for school. She was up all night finding every akuma still loose and catching it. She tells her parents she just went for an early morning run (technically true) and is okay, she is late for school though.
On TV she see’s Ivan has once again been re-akumatized, after trying to read Mylene his poem when they both got to school. Knowing Alya will be chasing the akuma Marinette chugs some coffee and chases him too.
When Alya gets trapped Chat Noir is captured, same as cannon, she decides to be Ladybug just a little longer.
(Though she finds a hiding place first, gosh cannon Alya was like 20 feet away)
As Ladybug chases down Stoneheart she catches Chloe after she is thrown from the Eiffel tower.
Hawkmoth does not do the floating head thing. Instead Stoneheart mentions that the butterfly that made him strong wants the miraculous.
Officer Raimcomprix tells Chat Noir that they’ve already failed one.
Chat Noir scoffs. “No shit. We’re two teenagers in spandex. Of course we're gonna make mistakes. But you don’t really have a choice but to trust us. Because you can’t beat this thing, and we can.”
He turns to face Stoneheart.
“I know you can hear me, you’ll be looking through his eyes right? Well listen up little Papillion. I don’t know what you want, what drove you to this. But I'll give you a bit of a friendly tip, you messed up. Because you chose to prey on an innocent teenager, tried to force him to nearly kill Chloe Bourgeois, and attacked the girl he loves. You’ve definitely made a mistake, bigger than either of ours. Because you honestly thought that we would roll over and let you get away with it.”
Ladybug, in awe of her partner's confidence even in the face of failure, starts planning how to take out Stoneheart.
They do the kiss thing and both teens are rescued safely. Ladybug catches the akuma and uses the Miracle Cure to fix the damage and bring the stone people back to themselves.
Chat asks to meet with Ladybug to talk about their new jobs later that night.
When Marinette arrives back at school she meets Adrien. Because Nathalie is awesome.
+x+
“So youre the rival Chloe’s told me so much about?”
Marinette floundered a little at the son of her favorite fashion designer, and a supermodel in his own right, stuck his hand out. “A- Adrien. You’re Adrien Agreste.”
He winced a little. “Yeah that’s me.”
Somehow the girl managed to snap herself out of the stupor enough to shake the boy's hand.
“Adrikins,” Chloe called. “Come on, I need to show you around before class starts.”
Marinette was in a daze all the way back to Mme. Bustiers class. She just met Adrien Agreste, the Adrien Agreste. And she was a total spaz about it.
She sat down in her seat and placed her head on the desk.
She didn’t remember the seat change until Chloe reemerged with her friends in tow.
“Move.” She told Marinette.
Marinette really didn’t want to do that. She didn’t want to be next to Adrien where she could potentially embarrass herself more. If he told his father about the mess of a girl in his class her dreams would be crushed before they even got off the ground.
(It is of course bold of Mari to assume Adrien’s father speaks to his son.)
Maybe- maybe if she was going to stand up for herself as Ladybug, at least until she found a better candidate, then starting as Marinette would help.
“No.” She said plainly. “It’s my seat, and I don’t really want to.”
She clenched her hands into her jeans as Chloe raised an eyebrow.
“Whatever. This isn’t worth my time.” Chloe sighed like she had just wasted precious hours on that interaction.
Marinette let out a breath she hadn’t known she was holding.
Alya slid into the seat next to her and grinned triumphantly. “Nice job girl.”
Marinette smiled back, but it was shaky. She hadn’t slept last night and was really starting to feel it.
“So girl, check this out.” Alya held up her phone.
On it was a blog template with red and black spots covering it.
“The Ladyblog?” Marinette read the title at the top.
Alya practically squealed in excitement. “Isn’t it cool? Since your’s truly got the best footage on the attack I thought I’d start my own blog. The one stop spot for everything Ladybug.”
“What about Chat Noir?” Marinette mused. “He’s super cool, Ladybug just kinda fumbles around after him.”
“Don’t be like that.” Alya pushed the girl’s shoulder. “Ladybug was the one to come up with the plan to save the day both times. And she saved me today.”
Marinette wished she could point out that Chat Noir had saved Alya twice, but that would reveal that she was there.
“But you are right, I need to think up something good for Chat Noir.” Alya leaned back.
+x+
(Adrien POV)
Vibing, waiting for the car. Marinette comes outside and waits too.
Adrien’s like, “Hey.”
And Marinette apologizes for being a spaz. Explaining that she was just caught off guard and that she didn’t mean to make him uncomfortable.
Adrien explains that he’s pretty used to it, and laments that no matter where he goes people will always know him before ever speaking to him.
“I almost don’t even know how to act in public. I wanna make friends but- I feel like people will only ever see the boy on the posters. … Sorry, that’s kind of a lot to dump on a stranger.”
Marinette paused. “You shouldn’t have to deal with that. I can’t change the fact that people know who you are. But we are still kind strangers. So- Hi, I’m Marinette Dupain-Cheng.”
He chuckles at her outstretched hand. “Hello, I’m Adrien Agreste.” He shakes her hand and smiles.
“So, you’re new to the school? What do you think of Mme. Bustier?”
(Fu’s POV)
He watches on as Ladybug and Chat Noir meet each other for the first time, again. Making idle small talk until the same car from before arrives to take Adrien home.
Before getting in the teen hands Marinette his umbrella with a parting goodbye.
Wayzz asks if he came to check in because he questioned Tikki and Plagg’s choice.
Fu admits that he was worried, but he needn’t be. Those two will help each other, in and out of the mask. They’ll be okay.
(Ladybug’s POV)
Ladybug meets Chat at the Eiffel tower.
She tells him how much his words of confidence helped her, since she had been so upset about her failure she forgot that mistakes are not the end of everything. So long as you try and fix them.
She confides that she’s still considering giving up the Ladybug miraculous, since she’s worried her catastrophizing will cause her to be overwhelmed and fail.
“Well m’ lady. I know a thing or two about Cat-astrophizing. And if you promise not to give up just yet, then I promise to help keep you from spiraling. Deal?”
She agrees to keep trying.
END
Okay let's get into the details.
1. Hawkmoth's transformation hurts like a bitch. His head is full on splitting open to make way for the butterfly wings, that's part of his face. He's spending most of his time lying on the floor in too much pain to move until Ivan get's akumatized.
2. Marinette will have the first suit design, with the plain suit and boots. Chat Noir will also have his first design, but his is a bit more interesting than LB's since Adrien has a little more faith in himself.
3. Since I'm overhauling Chloe's personality there was no reason for the gum incident, so I just dropped it all together. There would have been 0 purpose. Instead their rough start is caused by Marinette having a fairly normal reaction to meeting a super model who is also your idol's son. She does feel bad about it later, but Adrien harbored no ill will.
4. Around here is when the crush starts developing, but it's just that. A crush, she has the vague idea that she might like Adrien, but she doesn't know him super well yet.
5. Fu, you bastard. He really does think choosing two legal children is a good idea. I'll partially blame the Order of Guardians, but he knew what he was doing. Children are more likely to believe that they are just "The Chosen Ones" and not question anything, or wonder gave them the miraculous. Tikki and Plagg actually don't like that they had to choose two teenagers, but they aren't going to take that out on the kids. Fu's probably gonna get hot sauce in his tea curtesy of Wayzz for pulling that though.

Thoughts on Miraculous Shanghai: The Legend of Lady Dragon
Warning: Spoilers! Other than that, have fun!
Also, if you want to watch the full English Dub, click here!
I love how we saw Fei's backstory as to how she became guardian of the Prodigious and how it was actually stolen because there are people who want money from her adoptive father's studio. It was also sad to see that the values her father implemented into her fade due to the circumstances they found themselves in. I speak for all of us to say that this girl needs a hug.
The intro as always is beautiful! Since it was not the first thing we saw, I was confused when looking through the episodes on YT.
I always enjoy Marinette's monologues, and this one was over how she looked forward to her holiday (it was like a vacation type thing). And how she looked forward to spend time with Adrien since his father was going to let him out. It was all perfect...
...until she went to deliver Uncle Wang's package and found out Adrien left for Shanghai at the last minute. But all is good though because she could go to Shanghai, deliver the gift personally, and see Adrien.
It hurts me to see that the writers made Marinette's purpose to go to Shanghai is to see Adrien when she can do that in Paris! It frustrates me that her character development goes back to square one, even as the protagonist of the show. People might point out this was before season 3, but I have a few points that say otherwise or that the writers are mixing things up. But first, the plot points and thoughts of everything else.
Also, I get that Marinette is 14/15/16 at the time of this episode, but how likely is it to send your child on their own halfway across the world??? On SHORT NOTICE??? I swear Sabine and Tom are too chill with this, but then again, there would be no story.
Also, I love how Ladybug and Chat Noir took the opportunity of their patrols without akumas to bond more. The Ladynoir in this episode I stan!
Gabriel you piece of trash! If you did not plan to spend time with your son, why take him to Shanghai when he was hoping to spend time with you?! And do not say "for business purposes" because even though Adrien is a face in the brand, at least don't give him false hope and that bs!
Nooro, thank you for trying to talk Gabriel out of it, but he is literally a wall (talking to Gabriel=talking to a wall)
I will say, the waiting for 15 years thing is very concerning.
Uncle Wang has been looking forward to see Marinette in person in Shanghai to learn more about her roots. He is ecstatic and its just heartwarming and heartbreaking when you think that part of Marinette's stay will be related to Adrien.
At least we see one thing that makes Marinette's stay not all about Adrien though: she is genuinely interested in her origins! Like when she asks about her family's traditional songs and about her mom, even learning her real name!
Speaking of which, Sabine's name is Xia Ping and only called herself Sabine when she started living in France. Also, I love her photo!
Bastille the bird that was around since forever is an icon!
Also, I can't believe Uncle Wang has not taken a break since Sabine moved to France, like what the hell??? Give this guy a break for goodness sake.
Thank you Gabriel for having one brain cell and allowing your son to leave the hotel! We still hate you for everything else though.
Its cool that Kwamis speak all of the languages. It is also the most logical thing because their wielder could be from anywhere. My question is are they taught the languages, does it form when a concept forms in the universe and they start existing, or like everything else is it magic?
Gorilla is iconic for two reasons: he is still a self care king, and he was willing to give Adrien some space to get action figures.
And now as I wrote that, this is where I am getting confused and start to believe this is post season 3: 1) Gorilla seems less anxious about being in a new place (unlike NY where he stayed in the hotel room the entire time), and 2) His obsession for action figures was shown in Party Crasher (season 3), which makes me wonder if the explanation is during season 3 or this episode hints at season 3. For the first point, it could be because Gabriel was not in NY to his knowledge.
Fei appears again and explains how she views the world and how she also uses that to help and take advantage of others.
She almost steals Adrien's phone and miraculous until Gorilla steps in. It hurts me because she is a good person but had to resort to stealing for a reason that we will explore soon.
Plagg, we always say your stomach causes trouble, but this time, you brought Adrien to Marinette's uncle...
...but also that ironically separated them as Marinette found them just as they climbed into the taxi.
This is also where Fei (wearing a disguise) crosses paths with Marinette and steals her purse. Then she went for the kwagatama and miraculous.
Things get worse for Fei as these boys that took a photo with Adrien earlier started chasing her. Then Marinette started going after them.
That is when she realized she was robbed and understandably, she was more horrified of losing her Miraculous.
Adrien shows up to Uncle Wang's home/restaurant. So many iconic moments happen.
1) Bastille says something about love between Marinette and Adrien. And Adrien responds with the line that makes us want to jump into the TV and talk some sense into him.
2) You say that "she's JuST a fRIenD" yet you stay over with her mom's uncle so you can surprise her lol. Adrien, you kill me and every other Adrienette fan with this contradicting statements.
Speaking of Marinette, she gets lost and has trouble communicating with others because she does not speak Chinese. And at some point says that she regrets not taking lessons?! Uh, what does this imply, that she refused lessons or that she did not have the opportunity for lessons??????? I NEED ANSWERS!
Can we say once again how talented and artistic Marinette is? Bad time? Moving on!
Uncle Wang is unaware of Marinette's tardiness, and Adrien just jokes about it. Considering that she is technically missing (reality is that she's lost), I don't think its time to joke about it.
The lady that gave Marinette some earrings that look like the Miraculous is so nice and bless her soul
The person from the pawn shop is the bad guy that we see at the very end of the NY special! And he knows about what happened to Fei's father! I am grateful that he sees no value in Marinette's stuff so he won't sell it for a lot, but I hate how he's greedy for money and was willing to exploit Fei's hunger for answers and Marinette needing her miraculous for personal gains.
Meanwhile, the boys from the photo with Adrien that chased Fei were trying to get Marinette's attention (they found her kwagatama when Fei dropped it running away and fighting them), but she thought they were gonna attack her. And then she bumps into Fei, who helps her escape.
Marinette finds comfort in Fei for being willing to "help" her (remember that she was gonna bring her to the pawn shop). She also finds Fei as a helpful, kind person who is brave: something that Fei does not see in herself, but does not have the heart to tell Marinette the truth.
Meanwhile, Chat has transformed to find Marinette and its the most endearing thing I've seen! Adrien, you blind oblivious fool! You care about her more than you think!
They arrive in the pawn shop, Tikki escaped the claw machine, and Marinette finds the earrings...for 100000 Yuan.
Fei, understanding what its like to have something entrusted to you be stolen, gets in a spat with the pawn shop owner in Chinese, accusing the owner for greed and accusing Fei for theft, while Marinette just stands her.
Also, when did Marinette become naive???????? I get that she's in another country and they are speaking in a different language that she does not understand, but based on the tone of their voices and shouting, I feel like she should have sensed something was off.
Fei swaps the earrings the lady gave Marinette and took the miraculous back. To the lady, this is why your soul is blessed. So bless your soul!!!
Apparently, Marinette realized what happened and said that Fei stole her earrings and feels bad for the man. Girl, you do not have to feel guilty for the man! He was about to destroy them before he thought about sentimental value! Also, he did not pay Fei anything for them! (Felt that this should be brought up because even though Fei was wrong in stealing her stuff, she was also robbed from potential cash and answers, therefore the man was owed nothing.)
The boys from Adrien's photo are actually vigilantes of Shanghai (and will be referred as such from now on), wanting to bring Fei to justice for stealing, which catches Marinette's attention, but not enough to ask any questions.
Also Marinette is not wanted as a criminal. She is missing as Uncle Wang called the police.
Fei still lives in the school, which has been in ruins. Despite not having much, she still offers Marinette a cup of what I believe is water (or tea?). See peoples, Fei is a good person at heart (if y'all aren't aware of it by now)
Gabriel saw and recognized Marinette. This is horrifying and if it is prior to season 3, we see why he tries so hard to target her. Or reasons why he targets her in season 4 along with everything else we know from "Truth".
Fei should have been given the chance to explain why she stole Marinette's things, but the pawn shop owner was like "you know, I might as well expose Fei myself"...
...and it really broke Marinette, who heavily trusted her. But she can't dwell on it for long...
...because AKUMA COMES FOR THE PAWN SHOP OWNER! AND HIS FAN SHOOTS KNIVES! AND HAS GREEDY MOTIVES! AND HELPED HAWKMOTH GET INTI THE CAVE WITH THE PRODIGIOUS!!!
Also, Nathalie was involved in obtaining the bracelet years ago. Again, the 15 years thing is concerning.
Marinette flees to transform, but not without telling Fei how she broke her trust and how she feels that Feinwas not genuinely helping her. It hurt me so much!
Ladybug transforms, hears Chat's voice-mail (to which she is swooned by the fact her kitty cares for her civilian self), and calls him. The best Ladynoir scene so far!
So the prodigious is like a jewel with powers, there is only one prodigious from what we see, and that one prodigious has multiple renlings that only the wielder can see. Oh, and the bracelet is like a key. Cool.
I don't like how Fei's Lady Dragon outfit looks whitewashed, but at least her hair is red instead of blonde (which still does not make this okay)
Epic Showdown between the akuma, Hawkmoth, Ladybug, and Lady Dragon. Hawkmoth corners Ladybug and Lady Dragon gets caught in some rocks.. All hope seemed lost...
...until Chat shows up and frees the akuma with the help of a basketball.
We learn something new folks: the same butterfly can create a different akuma. This is very frightening because...
The statue that determines who is worthy of the prodigious gets akumatized! The horror!
Also, if the statue says Fei cannot become the dragon because her intention to seek vengeance for her father is not noble and worthy, then what makes Hawkmoth think he will be successful in becoming the dragon??? Because it seems that his intentions are not pure or noble. Just saying.
Hawkmoth notices the akumatized statue heading to the city and all of a sudden remembers about Adrien. Confronting the statue, he gets turned into ashes(?).
CHAT, HAWKMOTH IN ASHES WOULD HAVE BEEN FOR THE BETTER IF THE STATUE DID NOT DESTROY SHANGHAI AND YOU WOULD NOT THINK AS SUCH IF YOU KNEW HE WAS YOUR FATHER! But I am not mad at you, just wanted to point out your irony.
ML WRITERS, WHY DO YOU KEEP KILLING OFF CHAT????? LADYBUG DOES NOT NEED ANY MORE TRAUMA AND THAT WAS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY!!!! I AM SCREAMING INSIDE!!!!!
Fei is understandably upset and blames herself for what happen. I want to hug her so badly.
Marinette reassures Fei and forgives her, even though Fei felt that she could not be forgiven.
The structure they were standing on collapses and it was Fei as the Dragon who saved her, not Chat. Honestly, I love how it turned out as it strengthens their friendship, but I still prefer a Marichat alternative. WHERE IS THE MARICHAT PEOPLES???
Final showdown!
Poor statue guard was upset about the damage they caused as an akuma, but Miraculous Ladybiug fixes everything.
Fei learned an important lesson: let justice take its course, not enact revenge. But it was quite funny to have the pawn shop owner be flown away to court in a literal sense.
The bracelet has a renling-like creature, who is just so adorable, especially since they missed Fei and was waiting for the day they would be reunited. Aww!
Ladynoir version of the Moon scene from NYC! Except no dancing, just them challenging each other over who will get to Paris first if they traveled in opposite directions. No one shall ever know we were in Shanghai as civilians lol (Reminds me of my best friend when eating grapes during choral rehearsals)
Marinette, Adrien, Fei, and Uncle Wang enjoying a birthday (?) dinner was wholesome.
I love how Uncle Wang calls them boyfriend and girlfriend because of how they act around each other, yet Marinette and Adrien both deny it. Bruh, these children need to open their fricking eyes! I really wanted to jump through my phone screen!
The Shanghai Vigilantes came to return Marinette's kwagatama necklace. They are so precious even though we thought they were enemies in the trailer.
Even though they were at odds at first, love how the Vigilantes blushed when Fei played the accordion and she's just like "whatever". I stan an asexual queen.
Do I even want to know what Marinette accidentally said when she mispronounced "sister" in Chinese? Based on what Fei said, probably not.
Uh...NOW I WANT TO SEE MORE OF ADRIEN TEACHING MARINETTE CHINESE! While I do take some issue of Adrien (a white French boy) teaching Marinette her culture like most of us had issue with in "Kung Food", I also want to see them interact outside of school and hopefully bond. ML writers need to keep their word otherwise Adrienette stans will riot!
Love how the final scene turned out! Its just *chef's kisses*
Also, the hell with the business trip?? It was mentioned once again IN THE ENDCARD! It might not be as interesting, but I want to think that there was more truth to it.
Also, wifi troubles kept interrupting the show at crucial moments, but okay.
Overall, I live for the Shanghai episode! The animation is just as incredible as the NY special (which I also live for) and I love how this episode has a great focus on Fei and the prodigious. I mean, before the intro, she tells her story. And she has her monologues alongside Marinette's. In many ways, it's refreshing. Also, Ladynoir and Adrienette stans will be satiated with the scenes associated with each ship. Also, I love Fei's character development! And the final scene is wholesome!
I won't lie though: there are a few issues regarding whitewashing Fei's transformation and such. It is important to see these things and as a good friend of mine always says: you can enjoy something while also being critical of it. And that is very important no matter how devotive to something you actually are.
Anyways, we are being well fed with all the Miraculous content and I will see you all very soon! Also, get some sleep peoples! I know some of you aren't sleeping!

My One And Only - Chapter 10
Previous | Next
I might post this one shot I’m writing later. I really need to work on my angst but I just can’t bring myself to write it. I just love fluffity fluff Because... it’s fluff, my heart go melt. Also we’re starting to get into the longer chapters now, yAY
"So?" Alya asked. "Can you tell me?"
Marinette nodded. "So um, his name is D-Damian"
————————————————————
Marinette excused herself to go to the bathroom while Alya said she would wait for her by the school's entrance. Marinette already told her about her encounter with Damian and her crush on him too which Alya found to be sweet. Then she noticed Nino and Adrien enter.
"Hey Adrien is it ok if I steal Nino for a few minutes?" She asked.
"Sure go ahead" Adrien answered, amused.
"Thanks" she said while grabbing Nino's arm and dragging him away. "I did it" she whispered to him.
"Did what?"
"I found out who Mari's crush is! But I ain't telling"
"Whaaaat why not?" Nino pouted teasingly.
"I'll tell you when they get together" she kissed him on the cheek "You can go back to Adrien now. See ya!" She went back to the locker room where Marinette was waiting.
"Hey do you wanna join us later?" Marinette asked. "We're just gonna go for a walk around Paris"
"If you want me to" Alya replied with a smug face. 'But I don't want to invade the bubble you two will be in'
~~~
Damian was in his hotel room using a make shift punching bag when the sky became dark. He took down his homemade punching bag and took a look outside. The sky wasn't really the clear but it wasn't that dark either. The clouds became jet-black and shot large bolts of electric lightning. Damian took a step back as he notice a figure floating in the sky, shooting lightning bolts from her parasol. He decided to go into the roof of the hotel to get a better look. He remained in the shadows while watching the girl wreaking havoc. 'Is this what Angel meant?'. He was dumbfounded by how powerful this villain was but then he remembered magic was involved, magic was always powerful. Then the villain floated towards the hotel.
"Where is Chloe Bourgeois!?" The villain shouted, mainly to herself. Then Damian noticed a glowing butterfly mask appear on the akumatized villain. "Yes, Hawkmoth?"
'Hawkmoth...' Damian spat the name in his mouth. He disliked this man, such cowardice for targeting younger ones like he did.
"Don't worry Hawkmoth, they'll be here. I'm too big of a threat to ignore" the girl praised herself and as if it were a word of command, A boy in a black cat suit appeared. 'That must be Chat Noir'
"Back again huh Ice Queen?" The cat-themed superhero teased.
"My name is not Ice Queen! It's Stormy Weather!" She shouted back.
"For an ice queen, you really need to cool down" he fired back. Then the girl used her parasol to conjure a massive gust of wind but Chat Noir dodged it. Then Damian watched as a spotted yo-yo wrapped around Chat Noir and dragged him away. Damian then could've sworn he heard the sound of a flute but he didn't think anything of it when Chat Noir returned, this time with a spotted hero and a fox themed hero. 'Ladybug and...Rena Rouge I suppose'.
Stormy Weather then took a fighting stance only to have her eyes covered with a towel by a figure behind. 'That's....Ladybug but how-' Damian inwardly sighed. 'Magic I suppose'. He watched as the fake Ladybug disappeared while the real Ladybug grabbed the girl's parasol and smash it in half, intrigued to see a purple butterfly, fly out of the umbrella. Damian watched as Ladybug had snatched the butterfly into her yo-yo and then proceeded to 'de-evilise' it, as what Marinette said. He kept observing them. He watched in awe as Ladybug took the spotted towel used the cover Stormy Weather's eyes and threw it in the sky, many magical butterflies emerging and fixing everything that was damaged. From the sky to the nearby buildings. After they defeated the villain, they fist bumped and then Chat Noir took the now normal girl back to where she came from. Then Ladybug took Rena Rouge and they travelled in the opposite direction.
Now thinking it was safe to come out, Damian approached from the dark and went back to his hotel room via stairs. As he locked the door to his hotel room he realised something he had not noticed before, they all had a different specialized weapon. "How could I not have noticed that before?" He muttered to himself. He played through his memories. 'Ladybug has a Yo-yo, The cat had a retractable staff and Rena had...a flute was it?'. He decided to write some of this down in Arabic that way no one would know what it said even if they were to find the note. He dedicated the rest of his time researching the heroes.
"Alya" Marinette whined. "It's not a date"
"Even if it wasn't, I still gotta make sure you look good" Alya styled her best friends's hair into a bun with a few strands loose on either side of her face. The outfit she chose for Marinette was an ivory turtleneck sweater dress with brown knee-high boots, all MDC originals of course. The thing is, Alya still didn't know that Marinette was MDC. She hadn't told her yet so convincing her best friend that all these clothes were 'thank you gifts' was difficult to say the least. When Marinette looked at herself in the mirror she let out a tiny audible gasp. She looked great if she said so herself. "What did I tell you? You're best friend knows what looks good on you" Alya said proudly while patting herself on the back.
"Yeah, you did great" Marinette giggled. "Now come on let's go!" She grabbed her best friend's arm and dragged her to where they agreed to meet Damian.
Alya wasn't sure what she was expecting but it definitely wasn't what she saw. In the distance she saw a tall, muscular and handsome man. She wasn't attracted to him, in fact, the neutral scowl on his face was enough to send fear up her spine. Alya wasn't sure if this man was safe to be around, or if it was even Damian for that matter but the bright sparkle in Marinette's eye when spotting him confirmed that this was indeed Damian. Alya watched astounded as the once threatening scowl on his face turned into a naturally soft smile the moment his eyes spotted her best friend. 'This guy is totally in love with Mari. And I'm here for it'
When Damian noticed Marinette with a girl, 'Césaire probably', he smiled and walked up to them. "Hello Angel, nice to see you" he said in French. He turned to the other girl "Damian , nice to meet you" he said again in French while holding his hand out for a handshake.
"Alya, Alya Césaire" Marinette's best friend said while returning the handshake.
Marinette's eyes were bright when Alya and Damian had introduced themselves "So now that we're here, what should we do?"
"Didn't you say that you needed fabric for your designs?" Alya asked.
"Yeah b-"
"In that case we should go shop for the fabric needed" Damian replied.
"That's nice of you guys but we don't have too-"
"Come one I know a few shops!" Alya grabbed Marinette's hand and dragged her to the fabric shops in the area with great reviews without allowing her to protest. Damian tagged right behind, smiling at the two best friend's interaction. Alya then took the time to whisper into her best friend's ear. "He called you Angel" she said with smirk on her face.
"I-it's just a nickname" Marinette stuttered as she felt her face become hot. Alya playfully rolled her eyes while leading the bluenette to one of the best fabric shops in Paris with Damian in tow.
In the end they bought Marinette three different rolls of fabric. Damian was the one who paid, though it took a long time arguing before Marinette finally backed down. She was the one who wanted to pay but Damian kept insisting he should pay. He had also offered to carry all the rolls of fabric, not that he needed to ask because he carried them anyway, ignoring Alya and Marinette's protests. Soon they arrived at her parents' bakery and they met a surprised Sabine Cheng and Tom Dupain, they were mostly surprised at the boy who could carry three rolls of fabric single-handedly and look as if he could carry more. They watched, amused, as their daughter and this boy argued back and forth. Marinette saying that she could carry the rolls of fabric to her room by herself and the boy saying that he could carry it by himself. The argument didn't even last a minute before they came to a conclusion; Marinette would take one of the rolls while the boy would bring the other two. When they both left to go to Marinette's room, Alya answered a question that was in both the parents' head.
"His name is Damian" Alya said. "Marinette says he's an exchange student from the US"
"The US?" Tom said confused. "I thought he could've been from Bordeaux, there wasn't a hint of an accent'
"He must have been studying French for a long time" Sabine said, quite impressed.
Alya nodded. "Marinette's known him for a while, I just met him today and he's very smart"
Then both Marinette and Damian came downstairs. "Maman, Papa I'm going with Alya to make sure she gets hom-"
"I can go by myself it's fine" Alya interrupted. 'You and Damian need some time alone!' She inwardly smirked.
"Then I'll make sure Damian goes home" Marinette said without hesitation. They both said their goodbyes and walked out, leaving Alya and Marinette's parents.
"He's good husband material" Sabine said the moment her daughter and the boy left. Both Alya and Tom chuckled while nodding. Then when Alya turned to leave, Sabine and Tom went back to decorating some cupcakes.
Adrien kept looking through all the fan-mail he got, it was a lot but he wanted to read each and every one of them so that his fans knew he cared. But there was still something at the back of his mind, something nagging him. It was about when Plagg went to talk with Tikki about what he described as 'Kwami Business'. Adrien knew it was private conversations between kwamis but he could help but be curious as when Plagg had asked for permission to go, he was much more serious than he probably has been his entire life. "Plagg"
"Yeah Adrien?" The kwami replied, biting his aged Camembert.
"The day you went to talk with Tikki, what did you have to talk about?" Adrien watched as Plagg stiffened. Surprisingly, he put his cheese aside. 'Uh oh, this must be serious'
Plagg sighed, "It about the side effects of the miraculous"
"Side effects?" Now he was getting worried.
"The side effects only a true miraculous holder could get" Plagg mumbled hesitantly.
Do you remember that after passing the guardianship, the guardian of the miraculous loses all his memories?
What would happen if Mari passed the guardianship in the maribat universe?
I want angst
Growing up, Damian al Ghul once had a sister.
A twin, with midnight hair and fierce blue eyes and a burning desire to change the world.
She’d been weak, according to League standards, because she refused to kill the baby rabbits that had been their first test.
His sister had promptly been removed from the training grounds. He never saw her again.
He didn’t expect to. The League was efficient and eliminated anything and anyone that did not serve their purpose properly. She may have been clever and resourceful, but even she could not escape the League.
But then the day came when Paris re-opened itself to the world, after its heroes had finally defeated the emotional terrorist that cause them to close themselves off in the first place.
They watched the news feeds at the Batcomputer, the large screen showing the last battle, filmed by a shaky camera.
Ladybug and Chat Noir. The two magic users who’d tirelessly defending their city for three years, refusing all outside help to preserve the safety of their people.
The moment he’d seen her, Damian had known.
“That’s my sister,” The words had spilled from his mouth, and everyone else had whirled around in shock.
“Why haven’t we heard about her until now?” Father asked, and Damian had lowered his head, partially in shame because he never even thought to search, and partially to hide the emotions flitting across his face.
“I thought she was dead,” He whispered, and they all fell quiet again after that.
They’d started watching the final battle, and Damian had promised himself he’d go to Paris immediately after the shaky news footage was over. That he’d reunite with her, apologize for never having searched for her. For never even trying to defend her, when they’d dragged her away. He’d make up for all the years he should have had with her, and she’d get to meet Father and the rest of the family, just like they’d always dreamed of when they were little, sharing those dreams with each other with hushed words meant for the other’s ears only.
But it never happened like that, because Ladybug gives Guardianship to Chat Noir near the end of the battle out of necessity, because he cannot open the Miracle Box and she is too far away, and as Chat Noir used the Dragon to finally pry the butterfly from Gabriel Agreste, his sister slumped to her knees with empty eyes devoid of any memories.
They track her down. Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Age sixteen. Adopted parents: Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng. Residence: the Tom and Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie, 12 Rue Gotlib.
Father instructs them not to interact with her. She’d lost all her memories of ever being a hero, of growing up in the League. Of him. She had a chance act being normal for once, without any of the trauma that their childhoods had brought them.
But Damian sneaks out to visit her anyway, because she was his sister, regardless of whether or not she remembered. Even if she didn’t, he could hold the memories for both of them.
The bell jingles cheerfully as he steps into the bakery, walking up to the counter where Sabine is standing.
She recognizes him instantly, and he doesn’t know if that’s a good thing.
“You’re the brother she used to speak about,” Sabine murmurs. “She’s upstairs. You can see her, but she doesn’t remember anything at all.”
“I know,” Damian says, but a small, selfish part of him still hopes that maybe, just maybe, she’d see him and she’d remember.
He goes up the stairs, every step echoing in his ears, until he reaches the trapdoor and knocks.
“Come in,” She says, and Damian’s hit with a wave of… something. It’s his sister. She sounds older, a little more world-weary, yes, but it’s still her.
He pushes open the trapdoor and makes eye contact with his sister, green meeting blue for the first time in years, and only one set of eyes lights up with recognition. It’s not hers.
But despite not remembering, she still has the blood of the World’s Greatest Detective in her. She’s still intelligent, almost too much so. She studies him for a moment, eyes tracing over his face, his body, the way he holds himself, and her mind slots together the pieces.
“You look like me,” She says carefully. “I knew you once, didn’t I? Were we siblings?”
“Twins,” Damian replies, still taking her in, unsure that this is real. That it is happening. That after so long spent thinking she was dead, she turned out to have been alive all this time. That she’d escaped, and lost her memories for the good of the world before he’d ever gotten to see her again.
“Oh,” She murmurs, eyes glancing down towards the floor. “You’re my brother. Frère. Gēgē. Frate. Ani. Fratello. Akhi.”
She looks up at him with confused, almost desperate eyes. “I know so many languages,” She says. “So many. And I don’t know how I know them. Do you know? You’re my brother, right? You’re my twin. You must know more about me than everyone else.”
The intensity of her stare has not changed over the years, and Damian finds himself wanting to flinch away, just a little. “You picked up a lot of languages when we were younger.”
“Do you know why I can’t remember?” She asks, with so much hope and trust in her eyes that Damian does not deserve, because he never bothered to search for her when he knew just how clever and resourceful she was, and now it was too late and she would never remember. He’d never get to apologize.
“I’m sorry,” He says finally instead of answering the question. “I’m so sorry, ukhti.”
Pics or It Didn’t Happen
Mild salt and slight hints of Maribat, but mostly crack.
I did get some ideas from @unmaskedagain‘s blog.
Their ml salt and/or crack fics sustain me.
~~~
Marinette learned pretty quickly that even if you had proof, not everyone will listen. It’s always better to have pictures than words, because more people will believe you that way.
It was a slow burn, but Lila Rossi had successfully turned Miss Bustier’s class against the girl. It hurt when her once friends called her jealous and a bully.
Her! Marinette!
Did they forget that she had been bullied by Chloe for years? Why would she become a bully after being bullied herself?
And jealous? Jealous of what? Marinette’s crush on Adrien had long simmered out into nothing but cinders. The boy was a spineless coward who would rather pretend everything was ok rather than stand up and face the truth.
It hurt that this had happened, but, oddly enough, Marinette got some of her greatest allies through this.
It started with Chloe.
One particularly gloomy day, Marinette saw the blonde sitting alone while eating her lunch. Sabrina had long abandoned the blonde for Lila’s fool’s gold and, not for the first time in her life, Chloe felt alone.
Now, despite their long hated history, Marinette wasn’t heartless. The Ladybug in her compelled her to sit next to the blonde and eat. Chloe stared at her, surprised, but said nothing as she continued to eat herself.
That lunch started a truce and led to a friendship.
Next was Moriah.
Moriah was an exchange student from America. Marinette was surprised the day she walked into the bakery and saw her parents talking with a shy looking brunette girl with glasses.
Her parents told her that Moriah was a transfer student from America that they would be hosting for the next few years if all went well.
Moriah was very shy around new people, so when they arrived at school the next day, she stayed close to Marinette. Lila saw this and tried to tempt her into her web of lies.
Moriah was interested in Lila’s tales, but cautious. She looked up any proof of Lila’s stories and found no evidence. She looked up Lila’s name. Nothing.
When she tried pointing this out to the class, she was shunned. Chloe and Marinette welcomed her with open arms.
After a month or so, Moriah became much more comfortable. She was witty and funny, and she had no qualms about defending her friends and she always tried to remain to the side of justice.
This was one of the reasons Marinette decided to give her a miraculous.
After a week of living together, Moriah found out Marinette was Ladybug. The girls had to share a room and Marinette came back late in the night, still dressed as Ladybug, assuming Moriah was asleep and detransformed in her room.
Moriah dropped the book she was reading and squeaked behind the Asian girl.
The next few days included Moriah beating herself up about not noticing that her roommate was a superhero.
About a month or two later, was when Marinette began debating whether or not she should give Chloe and Moriah a miraculous.
Chloe, Marinette knew she wanted to give a miraculous too. The blonde had long ago proved that she was trustworthy and ready to re-wield a miraculous, but she didn’t want to risk anyone knowing that it was Chloe like with Queen Bee.
Moriah was a different story. Marinette was scared about risking something and making a mistake like she did trusting Alya. And the risk was much higher with Moriah since the brunette girl knew Marinette was Ladybug and the Guardian.
It wasn’t until when Ondine was akumatized again that Marinette made her choice.
Lila had manipulated Kim and convinced him to dump Ondine, to which she was akumatized into Syren again.
Ladybug had to fight this one almost alone because recently, Chat Noir had been showing less and less. He blamed it on his other life, but Ladybug couldn’t help but get the feeling that it was because she kept rejecting him.
It was a long hard battle and by the time it was through, Ladybug knew she needed help. If Chat Noir was going to be a little bitch, fine. But this wasn’t going to happen again.
That day, Marinette decided to give Chloe the Fox Miraculous and Moriah the Bee Miraculous. They became the heroes; Vixen and Yellow Jacket.
(“This is why I’m a dog person.” Yellow Jacket commented, pointing at Chat Noir as he arrived late to their first fight with disdain.)
Miss Bustier’s class were both excited and confused about the new heroes. What happened to Rena Rouge?
Alya threw her phone when she saw Ladybug announce that Vixen and Yellow Jacket would be the new, permanent holders of the miraculouses.
Many mocked Chloe for being replaced, assuming that the girl would throw a tantrum, but she ignored them.
What Moriah couldn’t understand is how nobody noticed how similar Vixen and Queen Bee looked.
The next ally was Luka, who turned out to be the most helpful.
He never knew about the tall-tales that the class had been told until one day when the girls came by to his house boat and was met with a disgruntled Moriah whose hair was cut.
Moriah had pretty magenta peek-a-boo highlights that were hardly noticeable, but Lila decided to complain that Moriah’s colored hair was distracting her. Mr Damocles ordered her to get rid of the colors from her hair or she’d be expelled.
Moriah, while normally always respectful, especially to adults, looked stunned. She pointed to Alix and Juleka, yelling; “What about Alix and Juleka?! Their hair is more obvious than mine! Why shouldn’t they change their hair?”
She was not allowed back on campus until the color had been removed from her hair. Moriah was furious and called her parents, telling them what had happened, and told Tom and Sabine the same thing with Chloe and Marinette.
Both parties were furious, but there was nothing Moriah’s parents could do since they were in America and Tom and Sabine tried talking to Mr Damocles about the issue, stating that there was nothing in the school rules against dyed hair and why it shouldn’t be more important than the education, but the man refused to budge.
Eventually, after three days of failing to get Mr Damocles to see reason and missed school, Tom and Sabine emailed the school board about the issue and, with no choice until they responded, Moriah was forced to get rid of her highlights.
She flat out refused to dye her hair because to get all the highlights out, they’d have to dye her whole head, so Moriah was forced to cut her locks short to remove the color.
Needless to say, she was pissed.
As was Luka.
The boy had grown to be good friends with the girl and liked her highlights. Seeing the rockin’ pink cut out sucked. When he asked what had happened, the girls told him everything, including Lila’s tabloid tales.
Luka was quick to pull Juleka aside and open her eyes to reason. When the girl found out the truth, the first thing she did was tell Rose.
The blonde girl’s eyes were opened too, and were quick to fill with tears. Everything was a lie. How could they have been so stupid? Then they remembered that Marinette had tried to warn them and were overcome with guilt. How could they make it up to her?
Marinette, Chloe, and Moriah were watching Heathers (Moriah’s suggestion) in Marinette’s room with their kwamis when Rose and Juleka entered. (Tikki, Pollen, and Trixx hid before the girls could see them)
The movie was paused and the girls stared at each other, waiting for something to happen. There was a beat of silence before Rose burst into tears.
“Marinette, we’re so sorry! We should’ve listened to you!”
Rose and Juleka told them that Luka had opened their eyes and that they never should have believed Lila’s stories and how they had tried to prove it to Ivan and Mylene too, but they wouldn’t listen.
They ended their apology by saying; “We know we don’t deserve your forgiveness, but we are sorry and we want to make it up to you. Starting with this.”
Both girls handed Marinette two hundred dollars each. Marinette looked between the girls and the money in shock.
“It’s payment for everything you’ve done for us. Every dress, outfit, accessory, baked good, everything. We know it isn’t enough, but it’s all we can afford right now. We promise to give you more once we have it.”
There were a few minutes of silence after that. Marinette blinked at the girls before tearing up and smiling.
“No. You don’t have to give me anymore. This will do.” She reassured.
Rose and Juleka awkwardly nodded, but Marinette could tell they were somewhat relieved. There was an awkward silence before Moriah spoke up.
“I know you’re lesbians, but do you want to drool over JD with us?”
Rose and Juleka blushed, but nodded their heads happily, rushing over to join the group.
It wasn’t just the girls though. Nathaniel never believed the stories, but was scared about what would happen if he spoke up. Seeing Rose and Juleka of all people step up made him join too. Marinette also had allies in students in other classes too, like Marc, Calude, and Aurore as well as in other schools, like Kagami and Felix. For the first time in a long time, Marinette felt much better.
She should have known it wouldn’t last.
That night she and Moriah returned to their room after patrol, she should have noticed that her sketchbook wasn’t where she left it on her desk.
She should have noticed when she and Moriah got up in the morning, but they were so exhausted from the night before to think of anything more than food and getting ready.
The girls met up with Chloe at the school gates and they had just walked into the classroom when they saw Alya talking with Miss Bustier, Lila and her sheep herded on one side of the room and the rest on the other side, looking murderous. Marinette almost instantly got a gut feeling that something was wrong.
Boy was she right.
When the girls were noticed, Lila’s sheep gave them smug looks while the girl herself gave them a faux innocent look.
She did something.
Miss Bustier cleared her throat before turning to face the girls.
“Girls, because of your behavioral issues, the class decided that it would be best if you three didn’t go on the class trip.”
Oh yeah, the class trip.
During the third and final year, the seniors of the school were allowed a class trip. It was to be organized by the class, mostly the president, and the entire class had to do fundraisers to pay for it.
To be completely honest, the last thing the three girls wanted to do was go on a trip with their class. Nathaniel and Marc had gotten an internship at DC Comics (courtesy of MDC) and that was taking place exactly during the class trip and Luka and Juleka’s mom decided that they were going to sail around the world this summer and Rose got permission to tag along.
It would only be the three girls together with a class who hated them, but Marinette was the class president and had to organize it, and if she had to organize the whole thing then she was going to enjoy the fruits of her labor. And Chole and Moriah weren’t going to let her suffer alone.
The bluenette had already begun planning the trip. Places to go and fundraising to do. She even decided to go ahead and book reservations. It was unfair!
Marinette opened her mouth to argue when her eye caught something in the trash that made her heart stop.
Praying she was wrong, she slowly walked to the trash can and pulled out it’s contents.
There was her sketchbook, tattered and torn.
She couldn’t believe it. Marinette started hyperventilating, looking at the scraps of her work.
Marinette had several sketchbooks, she filled them out rather fast, but that specific sketchbook was one filled with the design ideas she had for Jagged Stone’s tour that was happening this summer.
Marinette felt the world around her spiralling. She felt dizzy. Distantly she could hear people calling her name, but couldn’t comprehend it.
She felt sick.
She was going to be sick!
That was the last thing she remembered before running home, people calling her name as she left the school.
~~~
Always make friends with people who are loyal.
A good friend will make you feel better after someone hurt you.
But a best friend will skip beside you with an old, rusty bat singing “Someone’s gonna get it~”
After Marinette ran out, Chloe, Moriah, Juleka, Rose, and Nathaniel all screamed at their classmates and teacher, telling them how incompetent they were. Moriah, too angry to remember how to speak french, called them scum sucking creeps of the earth that Satan wouldn’t even want in hell.
It probably would’ve gone farther, but the three competent classmates gave Chloe and Moriah a look and told them to go after Marinette.
The girls listened with no hesitation.
They ran all the way to the Dupan-Cheng bakery. They walked in and Tom and Sabine looked at them before glancing upstairs with sad looks. Both girls knew immediately what they meant. They went upstairs to see Marinette doing breathing exercises, trying to keep from crying or even being sad at all. Tikki was patting her wielder's leg.
Moriah instantly ran over to Marinette while Chloe was quick to close any windows, doors, and cover any cracks and creases that an akuma could get through before joining them
Fuck Hawkmoth! There was no way the girls were going to let Marinette try and keep this bottled up so that she wouldn’t get akumatized.
Chloe decided that the best thing for them to do was go to her father’s hotel and have a girls night, which is precisely what they did. What Marinette didn’t know was that there was a double meaning behind it.
The girls and their kwamis spent the night eating junk food and watching chick-flicks like Legally Blonde and Mean Girls. Rose, Juleka, and Nathaniel told the others what had happened, and Chloe and Moriah were met with numerous texts, asking if they needed to come over, but the girls reassured everyone that they had it covered.
Finally, Marinette had passed out. It was after midnight and Chloe and Moriah exchanged looks before getting to work.
Tip-toeing out of the room, closing the door behind them, Moriah unlocked Marinette’s phone and opened her contacts.
Scrolling down the list, taking note of a few names she wanted to ask the bluenette about later, she found the contact they were looking for.
Jagged Stone.
Hitting the face-time button, the girls waited for Jagged to answer. The rock star was currently in America, and should only be mid afternoon over there. Even if it wasn’t, he’d stop in the middle of a live concert if Marinette was calling him.
Sure enough, after two beeps, the screen changed to Jagged’s face.
“Marinette, love! So good to hear from you-” He stopped short when he saw the two girls, neither of which being his honorary niece.
“Moriah? Chloe? What’re you doing calling me on Marinette’s phone?”
That was all it took before the girls told him everything. Lila’s stories, all worthy of a lawsuit, what happened to Marinette’s sketchbook, they even emailed him pictures of the texts that the class had sent to Marinette, most of which encuriged the girl to comitte suicide, and a link to the LadyBlog to prove that everything was true.
About midway during their confession, Penny had appeared on the screen, reading the emails that the girls had sent her. By the time Chloe and Moriah were finished, the pair looked like they wanted to commit murder.
Jagged yelled in fury, wanted to take legal action immediately, but Moriah cut in before he could.
“I agree with you Jagged, but what Marinette needs is a break. She needs a vacation from her class and Paris in general.”
Chloe nodded in agreement.
Jagged brought a hand to his chin in thought. The girls had a point, but what to do?
~~~
It was Penny’s idea.
The first thing the girls did in the morning was burn all the plans that Marinette had made for the trip. They cancelled the reservations and when they got to school, Marinette walked up to Miss Buster’s desk and said; “I’m resigning as class president. If the class doesn’t want Chloe, Moriah, and I to join them on the class trip, then I won’t plan it.”
And that was it.
Lila had been chosen as the new class president.
To her credit, she did do a decent job. She had decent fundraising ideas, but she started late in the school year, so the class only raised enough money to go to Disneyland Paris.
Chloe snorted.
The class attended the trip in June. Their social media and camera rolls filled with pictures. Most of the captions read that they were glad to get away from the bullies at school.
It wasn’t till after the trip that they found out what happened with the girls.
It was Alix who found out first. In the class group chat, save the three ‘bullies,’ Alix texted: “OMG, look at this!”
Underneath was a picture of the three girls at the airport with Jagged Stone, Penny, and Fang. The three were posing like Charlie’s Angels, wearing huge grins, with the caption: “Touring with Jagged Stone All Summer!!”
Penny was a genius.
Lila looked at her phone in horror. This couldn’t be happening.
Oh, my dear liar, but it is!
The first stop was Gotham. Jagged was performing at a Gala hosted by Bruce Wayne, which the girls would be attending. But first, they got a tour of Wayne industries.
The first picture in Gotham was taken by Moriah at Wayne industries. She was looking at the phone camera like she was on the Office while very clearly behind her you could see Marinette talking with Damian Wayne, the youngest Wayne son, and Chloe talking with a boy named Jonathan ‘Jon’ Kent, son of famous reporters Lois Lane-Kent and Clark Kent. Alya nearly snapped her phone in half when she recognized the boy. The pairs were obviously flirting. The picture’s captain read: ”First Day in Gotham and I’m already a fifth wheel.”
The next two pictures taken were a surprise to everyone.
They were taken by Chloe in the late night streets of Gotham. The first one was a picture of Marinette sitting on the driver's seat of the batmobile looking like all her dreams had come true while Batman stood beside her, arms crossed, looking rather stern.
The second picture was Moriah holding two pistols with starry eyes with Red Hood standing beside her, explaining to her how to shoot them, with an alarmed Marinette and Nightwing running towards them in the background.
The girls did take a selfie with the entire Batfam, but they decided not to post that one.
The next few days were mainly pictures of the girls sightseeing (with the occasional sneaky picture Moriah took of her friends with Damian and Jon). However, at one point the girls were adopted (kidnapped) by Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. Chloe and Marinette both agree that the weirdest thing that happened in Gotham was Moriah bonding with a talking plant named Frank.
Eventually, it was the night of the Wayne Gala. None of the girls took pictures of the gala, but the entrance was on tv, which Miss Bustier’s class made a movie night out of.
Sure enough, walking down the red carpet were the girls. Marinette had made new outfits for all of them, just for the gala, and they were stunning.
Marinette wore a long scarlet dress. It was fashioned like a traditional chinese dress, but more Marinette-y. There were intricate designs stitched in black around the bottom of the dress with a silk sash tied around her waist. Her hair was pulled up into a bun with a fancy stain glass rose pin in it.
Chloe wore a glamorous gold mermaid dress. It shimmered with every step she took with glittering blue details on the top that matched her makeup. And if you looked down, you could see her wearing gold, literal gold, heels. Her hair was down in beach wave curls with blue strands woven into it.
Lila and Alya screamed when they saw both girls being escorted in by Damian Wayne and Jon Kent respectively.
Jagged and Penny were linked together. Penny wore a v-neck, sleeveless shimmering silver dress, also made by Marinette, while Jagged wore a dark purple suit. It looked pretty monotone for the man at first, but when lights hit the suit, you could see that there had been music notes embroidered into the suit that turned it into a rainbow of color.
Moriah’s dress came as a bit of a surprise. Marinette knew Moriah was more comfortable in pants than a dress, but she still wanted the girl to wear a dress, so they compromised. Moriah wore a dress that was also crossed with a suit. Kind of like Garnet’s wedding dress from Steven Universe.
She wore a tuxedo jacket over a white, sleeveless dress that draped down longer in the back, shorter in the front. She had a red sash wrapped around her waist and black tights with red shoes to match. Around her neck was a shirt collar and bow-tie that she wore like a choker. Her hair was half up and half down in curls. Moriah wasn’t one to wear make up, but since it was a special occasion, she wore some mascara and a little lipstick.
The biggest surprise was her escort.
Walking beside her was Fang, dressed in his own original Marinette tux that matched Jagged’s.
For the rest of the night, nobody knew what happened to the girls at the gala. It wasn't until the next morning that they found out.
Chloe and Marinette spent most of the night hanging out with Jon and Damian, but whenever they weren’t doing that, they talked with the other guests, most of whom asked for the designer of their outfits, which really boosted traffic on Marinette’s website.
Moriah hung out around the dessert table most of the night, snacking on a bit of everything, while talking with the other Wayne sons. At some point, totally unclear on the how and why, Moriah and the oldest Wayne son, Dick Grayson, got into a dance fight. The gala ended before the fight did, so they had to call a draw.
Their next destination was New York, but they made a slight detour to Metropolis per Jon and Chloe’s request. They got a VIP tour of the Daily Planet and met Jon’s parents: Lois Lane-Kent and Clark Kent.
Moriah recorded Lois tearing into the LadyBlog with a grin on her face, having no remorse in posting it online.
Alya couldn’t understand it as she watched her idol tearing into her life’s work.
Then the girls’ mentioned BugOut, the blog Aurore ran, and Lois was a lot more pleasant.
Alya threw her phone when she got a text from Nino that Marinette got Aurore an internship at the Daily Planet for winter and spring break, and possibly summer if she did well.
The next picture posted was the first one Marinette took. It was of her two friends hanging off Superman’s massive muscles as he flexed. Chloe denies ever drooling.
After that, they left for New York. Specifically, the Avengers’ Tower. It was the anniversary of when the Avengers first became a team, and Tony Stark, an old friend of Jagged’s, highered the man to play at the party.
Before then, they toured the Avengers tower. At one point, they walked in to see Captain America, Bucky Barns, and Thor working out. Shirtless. Moriah let out a quiet but passionate “Hell yes” when they saw them.
After the three men, regretfully, put on their shirts, they showed off their equipment. Chloe couldn’t help but squeal when Captain America handed her his shield. Marinette grinned as she hung off Bucky’s metal arm as he flexed it. Moriah was once again handed guns, this time by Black Widow, which were once again promptly taken from her.
After all that excitement came the big guns. Per the girls’ request, Penny recorded them trying to lift Thor’s hammer. It was all fun and games until Marinette easily picked it up. It was dead quiet before Thor’s voice thundered across the room.
“She is worthy! I must take her to Asgard with me!”
Tony took a step forward. “Thor, you can’t take a child.” He stressed.
Thor tilted his head at the millionaire like a puppy. Moriah winced, grabbing her heart. That face was too cute for a grown-ass space god.
“Then what is the spider-kid?”
Tony faceplamed. “He’s my intern and protege. I’m his mentor!”
“Then I shall be this child’s mentor!”
“No!”
“Miss Potts can be Chloe’s mentor, for they are both fit to rule!” Chloe preened at this.
“Thor, no!”
Moriah raised her hand. “Can the kick-ass, Russian spy be my mentor?”
Natasha raised an eyebrow at the girl before smirking.
“Yes! Black Widow will become Moriah’s mentor! It all works out! Now, I must take my new protege to Asgard to meet the All-Father.”
“Thor, no!”
“Don’t you take my niece!” Jagged ran into the phone’s picture, looking ready to fuck-up a god.
The video ended with Penny dropping the phone and running towards Jagged who was now riding on Thor’s back, pulling his hair.
The video went viral in an hour.
Lila’s hands trembled as she watched the video, feeling herself paleing. She had become enemies with someone who could lift Thor’s hammer.
This wasn’t posted, but shortly after Penny got Jagged off Thor, Loki appeared. He tried explaining that he felt powerful magic coming from the tower, but was cut short when Moriah tackled him to the ground in an aggressive hug.
While we’re on the subject of proteges, at some point, Peter came over. He heard that Jagged Stone was at the tower and wanted to meet him. He, Ned, and MJ were huge fans and he really needed an autograph.
Friday told him that Jagged was with the other Avengers in the training room. Promptly saying thanks to the A.I, the spider boy practically ran to the room. What he didn’t expect was to open the door to see a short, brunette girl German suplex the Winter Soldier while wearing heels. (A trick Natasha had taught her. The Black Widow took being a mentor very seriously.)
Tony turned to see who was at the door and was met with a red faced, dazed Peter Parker who was clutching the area over his heart like it was about to beat out of his chest.
“Natasha, your kid broke my minion!”
(Now Marinette and Chloe got their fill of taking sneaky pictures of Moriah and Peter.)
The girls did normal sightseeing stuff around New York. They went to a town called Riverdale and Moriah met a guy named Jughead. They bonded over having friends with love issues that attracted endless people while they just wanted to eat burgers.
At some point they were in another dangerous situation, but this time they met some guy named Deadpool who would make this One-Shot Rated-R if I actually put anything he said in it.
While in New York, they went to two Broadway Musicals. The first one was Phantom of the Opera. (Jagged didn’t really want to see this one, but he was outnumbered one to four. (Five including Fang. The crocodile had a weird love for Opera music.)) They also had a backstage pass where pictures of Marinette conversing with the person in charge of costumes, Chloe complementing the actress who played Christine, and Moriah hugging the actor who played the Phantom were taken.
After that, Jagged took them to see Hamilton. What the girls’ didn’t know, however, was that this was a special show with the original cast. Moriah screamed when she saw Lin Manuel-Miranda on the stage as Alexander Hamilton and when they went backstage, Moriah started crying when the cast greeted her.
Mylene, who admired the man herself, felt her heart break when she saw the picture of a joy-crying Moriah hugging Lin.
After that, they went to Florida for Jagged’s next concert at Universal Studios. They didn’t meet anyone famous there, but the class were still envious of the pictures.
Moriah was a huge Potter Head, so this was a dream come true. She hissed at Marinette and Chloe when they playfully mocked her Hufflepuff shirt while they sported matching Slytherin shirts.
They also went to Disney World, which was also a dream come true. The funniest thing that happened there was while Jagged and Moriah were off trying to waste hundreds of dollars on ice cream and other junk food with Penny trying to stop them, one of the park’s managers thought that Chloe and Marinette were supposed to fill-in for two of the disney princesses. Jagged, Penny, and Moriah came back to find Chloe dressed like Elsa and Marinette dressed like Mulan. Moriah laughed hysterically at the two girls until the same park manager pulled her away and she came out dressed like Belle.
Originally, Florida was supposed to be the final place, but there was a last minute change. Turns out that Jagged Stone has a sister who lives in Japan with a daughter named Kyoko Jirou.
While they were on tour, Jirou and her classmates had done a performance for their school’s festival.
Jagged, of course, was inspired and requested Penny to schedule one last performance in Japan where he’d have Jirou and her band open for him. It would be a nonprofit concert since Jagged wanted it within the next two weeks, but that didn’t bother him.
The girls had to check in with their parents, but they were allowed to go with Jagged to Japan.
Since it would take every waking moment to plan the concert and write a new song for it, Jagged had the girls join Jirou’s class for the time being despite being a little older.
The first picture taken was Moriah performing the German suplex Natasha taught her on a hot, ash-blonde guy named Katsuki Bakugou who said that the girls looked weak.
The next thing that was posted was a selfie of the three girls wearing the UA gym uniforms with the caption: “Training at the USJ.” With them in the picture were Momo and Hagakure, both of which were adorning new hero costumes.
Marinette took one look at their old costumes and went on a rampage. In the time span of two days, she managed to make both girls new suits (with the help of the support course).
Momo kept her red and white color scheme, but it became a two piece outfit that was pretty similar to a female wrestler’s costume, but with knee and elbow pads. To avoid showing too much skin, they used strands of Momos hair as a way to let her creations move past the more intimate areas of her body. Momo kept her heeled boots because if Black Widow and Wonder Woman can kick ass in heels then so could she, but Moriah gave the suggestion of being able to snap the heels off and use them like throwing darts.
Hagakure’s suit was made out of reflective lenses that could turn her completely invisible without having to be naked, but also amplify any light she admitted. She got a chest plate tank top and pants with built in kneepads. Her boots were sound absorbent for stealth and she also got a pair of rocking goggles to keep her from blinding herself.
Needless to say, both girls were satisfied with their new looks.
For the next couple of days, they took pictures of Class 1-A. Marinette was the only one who could get a picture with the Class 1-A homeroom teacher, Mr. Aizawa. Probably because she made him a new sleeping bag as an apology for their intrusion.
Funny story: When he saw Jagged Stone, he paled, before muttering “Oh dear god, there’s two of them” under his breath repeatedly. The girls didn’t understand this until they met Present Mic.
Moriah and Katsuki somewhat got along after the german suplex incident and she hung out with the Baku-Squad. Chloe took a bit of an interest in a duel-haired boy named Todoroki who hung out with a boy named Izuku Midoryia and the Deku-Squad. Izuku and Marinette got along swimmingly, just don’t look directly at them. It’s harmful to look at the sun, let alone two.
At one point, they met Endeavor. All three girls called him out and chastised him for being a horrible father and human being. Chloe took the lead on this. (Todoroki started looking at her in a new light.)
The next big news that Miss Buister’s class got wasn’t from stalking the girls’ social media. It was the Japanese news. The class couldn’t believe it when they saw that Ladybug, Vixen, and Yellow Jacket were in Japan.
Originally the girls were only planning on going shopping, but when they saw the villain attack, their hero instincts took over and they transformed and apprehended the perp. To avoid suspicion, Vixen cast an illusion to make it look like Marinette, Chloe, and Moriah were in the background in the crowd.
The girls were interviewed by the press. Well… Ladybug and Vixen conversed with the press while Yellow Jacket was giddily talking in the background with the pro hero Hawks, who the girls had aided, with a vibrant blush on her face.
Non Surprisingly, Izuku was there. Ladybug gave him the most attention out of all the interviewer's. (Block your eyes from the sunshine rays!)
The next day, things got even crazier. All three girls were kidnapped by the League of Villains. U.A, Jagged, and Penny were in a panic until Moriah posted a selfie, looking so done with the world, with a black haired, scared man with piercings beside her staring at the phone camera like he was on the Office.
\In the background, Marinette was chastising the villains about how rude it was to kidnap people while Chloe insulted their base’s decor. The caption read: “These idiots didn’t even take our phones.”
They were found two days later by a group of pro-heroes, led by current No. 1 hero, Endeavor, but when the heroes burst in, they stopped short at the sight in front of them.
The heroes found a very smug Marinette demolishing a very pissed Shigaraki at a video game while Chloe, Toga, Magne, and Twice were doing each other’s nails in the corner while gossiping. In another corner of the room, Dabi had decided to give Moriah new, vibrant blue highlights that matched his eyes.
The entire base was refurbished.
The heroes were stunned long enough for the LoV to escape.
The girls had to use the horse miraculous to return to Paris several times to deal with akumas, but it was worth it.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Jagged’s trip was soon over and the girls returned to Paris.
The moment they walked into the classroom they were met with glares ranging from weak to pure shade.
While they were on the trip, Jagged had told every important person they came across every tabloid lie Lila had spun and she was met with a tsunami of lawsuits. As was the LadyBlog. Alya’s eyes were red and puffy, but she still gave a heated glare towards Marinette.
The rest of the class wasn’t off the hook, either. With all the evidence Moriah and Chloe had shown Jagged, the entire class were sued for harassment.
After finally getting to the email Tom and Sabine sent, the school board had found out about everything. Mr Damocles and Miss Bustier had been told to hit the road, and were promptly replaced with new, competent teachers.
The girls gave a bright smile before sitting in the back of the class, high-fiving Nathaniel, Rose, and Juleka on the way.
Best. Vacation. Ever.

Kwami Exchange Students
This might be a mini-fic, I’m not sure yet, but for now just consider anything I post for this AU connected one-shots.
-------------
Marinette knew that the world was full of more odd and mysterious things than she had previously thought. She was a highschool super hero going after a butterfly themed maniac who wore a wrestler’s mask with a suit, after all. But somehow, despite the craziness she constantly experienced in her life, she still managed to get caught off guard.
Because one day, after weeks of Tikki making sad comments about wanting to experience life as a “modern human” (accompanied with longingly watching dancing videos), Marinette woke up to find Tikki missing. But more alarming than that, was that now there was a teenage girl curiously inspecting everything in her room. Thinking it may be an akuma, she looked around frantically for her tiny spotted friend in hopes of defeating it without waking her parents. She tried not to make any loud noises as she shuffled around in her bed.
It didn’t work, however, and the intruder turned to look at her with wide eyes that were somehow familiar, “Oh, Marinette! You’re awake!” The voice was even more familiar, soft and gentle while slightly squeaky.
“Wh-who are you?” Marinette tried to ask calmly, although the stutter betrayed her.
The girl gasped, her hands quickly flying to cover her mouth, “Oh gosh that’s right!! You’ve never seen me like this before.”
Marinette did a once-over of the girl. Her hair was long and bright red, with black roots. She was wearing a long white dress that looked more like a sheet and no shoes. Her eyes, somehow even wider, were bright blue, and held a wisdom that wasn’t normal for someone who looked so young. Then again, nothing was normal about this teenager who radiated energy and power even while looking like she had just been caught in the cookie jar. Wait... cookie jar?
“Tikki!?” Marinette asked, “Is that you?!”
Tikki nodded quickly, “Yes!! I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to startle you!”
“But you— You’re so small but now— huh?!” Marinette couldn’t find the words to express her confusion as to how the little creature that could fit in her purse was now the same height she was.
“Well, you see...” Tikki fidgeted with her fingers, “It’s been a while since I’ve walked among humans, and I thought it would help better understanding modern society if I could experience first hand...” She looked to the side, then her eyes widened as if coming to a conclusion and looked back at Marinette, “...that way I could help track down Hawkmoth easier. Mmhm, yep!”
Marinette didn’t bother questioning Tikki’s logic, since she had more pressing questions on her mind. “How are you able to turn human?”
“I’m a god, Marinette,” Tikki said matter-of-factly, “I existed far before ladybugs were even a concept. I can take many forms, just like the other kwamis.”
“So why stay so little?”
Tikki smiled, although it seemed sad, “Easier to help, easier to hide, and it’s an easier form to hold. Especially since our energy is so heavily changed to the miraculous stones now.”
“Oh...” Marinette whispered. “But wait how are you gonna blend in?”
“The same way you and Chat Noir have all this time,” Tikki grins, “Hiding in plain sight!”
“It’s one thing hiding you as a kwami from my parents, but I can’t hide a whole human!”
“You won’t have to, silly.” Tikki smiles, “I have it all under control. We kwami are very good at convincing others that typically abnormal things are something completely normal. It’s how so few know of our existence.”
“Okay…” Marinette said, unsure, “But it doesn’t matter how convincing you are, no one is going to think walking around in a bedsheet is normal.”
Tikki blushed, looking down at her dress, “It’s not a bedsheet, Marinette. It’s a dress. It’s just something simple so I don’t stand out.”
“You’re going to stand out if you go anywhere like that.”
“Well you’re the fashion designer,” Tikki huffs, cheek still blazing red in embarrassment, “What should I wear?”
Marinette grinned wickedly and dashed to her closet.
-------------
An hour later, Marinette stepped back to admire her work. She was very glad that she had been working on some clothing she had kept under wraps from everyone, it would be a little too suspicious if Tikki showed up in some of her very-Marinette clothing. Tikki was now fitted with a white tank-top, the words “Lucky” embroidered across it, and light-washed blue shorts. Her hair was tied up to the side and decorated with a black ribbon. Because Marinette didn’t have time to teach her how to tie shoes with fingers, she was wearing simple black flats.
“Oh, Tikki, you look so cute!” Marinette fawned as the cherry-red-head tugged at her clothes self consciously.
“I feel so… exposed,” she frowned, looking at herself in the mirror.
“Tikki,” Marinette said, deadpanned, “you don’t normally wear clothes at all.”
“You know what I mean,” Tikki huffed, “I’m less comfortable in this form… and it’s so cold.”
Marinette smiled sympathetically and went to her closet, pulling out an old generic black sweater, “Here, maybe this will help.”
Tikki slipped it on, and a smile stretched across her face, “This is perfect! Thank you so much, Marinette!”
“I’m just thankful that we’re similar sizes,” Marinette laughed, “otherwise this would have been a lot harder. Now, how are we going to explain you to my parents?”
Tikki grinned, “I’ll take care of that! Just be down in the bakery in a few minutes.” She playfully winked at Marinette before snapping, shrinking in a flash of light before revealing a little ladybug. Marinette shook her head, convinced she had seen everything at this point, and opened the window and watched as Tikki zipped out of the window.
Marinette quickly finished getting ready, grabbing her book bag before running downstairs to the bakery.
Sabine and Tom barely had time to give their daughter a warm greeting before their bakery door swung open and Tikki shyly stepped in, looking very lost.
“Good morning!” Tom greeted heartily, “What can we get for you?”
“Good morning,” Tikki responded, a kind but shy smile on her face, “I’m looking for a Mme. Sabine Cheng and M. Tom Dupain.”
“That would be us,” Sabine smiles, “What can we help you with?”
“Um, I’m the exchange student from the program through Francoise Dupont,” she says, producing a flyer Marinette had never seen before as well as some paperwork out of her back pocket.
Tom and Sabine shared a confused look before Sabine read over the paperwork and flyer.
“I’m sorry…” Sabine says, reading the paperwork to find Tikki’s name, “Mlle. Tikki, but we never signed up for a program like that.”
With acting skills Marinette had no clue Tikki possessed, tears began welling up in Tikki’s eyes, “Oh, I see… today has been quite trying,” she dabbed at her eyes lightly with her sweater sleeve, “first, my luggage went missing, and now there’s been a mixup with the paperwork. I have no idea what to do..”
Marinette stepped forward quickly, wrapping an arm around Tikki’s shoulder. “Mom, Dad, I have plenty of room upstairs. The paperwork all checks out, right? Maybe you signed up on accident or don’t remember, but we can’t turn her away.”
Marinette and Tikki both gave Sabine and Tom their best kicked puppy looks.
And that was how Tikki became a temporary member of the Dupain-Cheng household.
--------------
Convincing the school apparently wasn’t necessary, as Tikki had already handled all of that the night before without Marinette’s knowledge. A few forged emails and “Kwami magic”--as Tikki worded it--and all Tikki had to do was stop by the principal's office to get her necessary books and materials. Marinette wasn’t sure whether she was thankful or concerned that everyone was so easily influenced and convinced by Tikki, but decided not to think about it too much.
“Oh, I should mention…” Tikki said softly to Marinette as they walked to class, “I’m not the only new student.”
“What do you mean…?” Marinette had a bad feeling in her gut at the guilty expression on Tikki’s face.
“Well, I talked about my idea with Plagg,” Tikki said softly, “And he ‘didn’t want me to have all the fun’.” Tikki made air quotes, rolling her eyes.
“But Plagg needs to stay with Chat Noir,” Marinette hissed.
“That’s the thing…” Tikki said, wincing slightly as she walked into the classroom with Marinette.
Marinette wasn’t sure what she was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t seeing a guy she’d never seen before bickering silently with Adrien Agreste.
The bickering stopped when both caught sight of Marinette and Tikki.
The new guy, with wild black hair and even wilder green eyes, lit up and a catty grin spread across his face, “Sugar cube!” he said excitedly, zipping away from Adrien at inhuman speed to drape an arm around Tikki’s shoulders, “Didja miss me? It’s been far too long.”
Tikki grimaced, “It hasn’t been that long, Plagg,” she said, “We were on the plane together just this morning.” The undertone of scolding in her voice made it clear that who Marinette was seeing was, in fact, Chat Noir’s kwami.
Marinette looked back at Adrien, who was looking at her with wide eyes. Well, more specifically, he was looking at her earrings. Marinette’s eyes went to the ring he was wearing, before looking back up at him.
Oh.

If you want to use this AU you can! just credite and tag me in return please! :)
----------------------------
So, in many ML biodad AUs Marinette’s bio dad is most of the time someone like Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark, but how about:
Biodad! Jonathan Joestar AU
I mean when you think about it both Marinette and Jonathan are alike in looks and personnality!
Appearance:
-Both got blue hair
-Both got light blue eyes
Personnality:
-Both are kind souls
-Both are selfless and think about others before themself most of the time
-Both got a strong sense of justice
-Both are very smart
-Both are combative when needed
-Both don’t hesitate to put themself in danger to protect others
-Both can over-react when they’re carried away by their emotions
And just imagine the story possibilities with this AU!
“But Sayuri! Jonathan Joestar is from the Victorian aera and Marinette is born in the french modern aera how Jonathan would be Marinette’s bio dad in this AU?”
Well the same way which make Giorno, Donatello, Ungalo and Rikiel Jonathan’s kids:
Yep! In this AU Marinette is another child born from Dio’s one night stands!
Now I know that make Marinette Dio’s daughter too and I know Giorno, Donatello, Ungalo and Rikiel are mostly know as Dio’s children but to be honest I consider them more as Jonathan’s kids than as Dio’s because honnestly outside of the head the rest of the body is Jonathan’s.
How Marinette’s conception happen then? Well here’s how:
Years before Marinette’s birth, a young adult Sabine Cheng was on a trip in Egypt, she meet Dio in a bar one night, he seduced her and they got a one night stand, with Dio having the intention to suck Sabine’s blood after, but at one Dio got a brutal crisis.
Normally anyone would get afraid and run away but instead Sabine, being the kind person she was, had done all she can to calm down Dio with all the tenderness she can give. And without being aware of it this actually saved her life.
After helping Dio to calm down both fall asleep, Dio woke up later in night while Sabine was still asleep.
Remembering the warm and familiar kind feeling he experienced during his “episode”, a feeling he didn’t feel for a very long time, he decided to spare Sabine under the pretext he wasn’t in the mood to suck her blood anymore before living to go back to his mansion.
In the morning Sabine wake up only to notice Dio left and never see him again after that night, she go on with her trip and when she go back to France she found out she was pregnant.
She decided to keep the baby, times later she meet and fall in love with Tom Dupain, both end up marrying to each other and Tom adopt Marinette and became legally her father.
The Dupain-Cheng couple also decided to give her a middle name “Joanne” in memory of one of Tom’s aunts with who he was close, making her full name “Marinette Joanne Dupain-Cheng”
Does that mean Marinette in this AU had the Joestar birthmark? Yep, she does! And she also got the Joestar genes when it’s come to body shape: as a kid she look like a shrimp but when she will be older she will get rather tall and will got more muscules to her peers’s surprise.
Did she had a stand in this AU? Yes!
Her stand is called [Viva la vida], a reference to the Coldplay’s song, this stand had the power to create miracles like making plants grow, healing illness and bad injures or being a big source of luck she also had a big affinity with plants and animals. But her powers had limits for example while her miracles allow her to bring back someone to life it’s only possible if the dead person isn’t dead for a too long time and make a powerfull miracle drain Marinette energy and she end up knocked out for a time.
When Marinette is Ladybug, [Viva la vida]’s miracles powers are stronger.
[Viva la vida] isn’t a stand know for her strengh but she’s very fast which allow her to make a lot of punches and kicks at the same time.
Stand’s appearance: [Viva la vida] is an humanoid stand with beetle features, her color schemes are black white and pink, she had beetle wings, big rond blue non-reflective eyes and her head is rond with two anthenas and is a head smaller than Marinette.
But if [Viva la vida] is a cute stand when Marinette is a civil, when the young girl took her Ladybug form, her stand took a more imposing and majesting appearance, she became taller, more muscular, her eyes smaller and almond shaped, her whole body get more armors features and her colors scheme change to black and red with black dots and she emit a rather intimidating aura.
Stand’s behavior: [Viva la vida] is a very expressive stand and very sentient and is a friendly and playfull stand. She’s very curious by nature and had the habit to examin in curiosity when Marinette meet new people or stands. Her being very sentient allow her to sometimes act as a conscience to Marinette.
She also love to eat cookies baked by Marinette.
When Marinette is Ladybug, [Viva la vida] is more serious and a more combative behavior.
Stand’s cry: “Mira!” a reference to “miraculous” and to the word miracle.

Seeing their daughter’s moral so down Sabine and Tom decide to send Marinette to Gina to the USA for summer break. After making sure to had Kaalki with her to teleport back to Paris when an akuma attack, Marinette go on a trip to the USA with her grandmother.
But what should have been a normal vacation trip will take a bizarre turn when Marinette will learn about Gina’s job at the mysterious Speedwagon Foundation which will lead to a meeting with four ancients Aztec gods of fitness, getting informations about stands and her mysterious lineage and a meeting with three american unknow brothers.
(In this AU the Pillarmen aren’t dead after Battle Tendency but they’re detained by the Speedwagon Foundation)
The bizarre mass resurection mystery arc:
A lot of things happened in Marinette’s life, things she didn’t expected whatever in good or bad.
Finding out about her grandmother’s job at the Speedwagon Foundation, learning more about her stand, finding about the existence of three brothers and having said newfound brothers being adopted by her parents, her friends isolating her thank to Lila and learning she by Bustier she and Chloe were banned from the class field trip...
So she decided with to create with other classmates from the school a trip club and after some successful fundraisers the club get a trip to Italy.
And since Hawkmoth seemed to not have attacked for a time there isn’t any problems to go on that trip.
In Italy, on Giorno’s side the part 5 events happen just like in canon while on Marinette’s side she and the trip club get a good time in Italy until a particuliary violent stand user akuma attack the country. He was akumatised by Hawkmoth ‘cause Gabriel Agreste was on a business trip in Italy and thought creating a akuma in the country would attract Ladybug and Chat Noir and give him an advantage since the akuma attack in a unfamiliar place.
The fight was very hard but in the end Marinette and her allies were able to beat the akuma and with her miraculous powers combined with her stand powers she revert any damage... it’s even worked for damage/injuries/death by stands leaving Marinette knocked out for a time since she use a lot of energy while using her stand’s miracle powers.
On Giorno’s side after he beat Diavolo and became the boss it was noticed that Buccelatti, Narancia, Abbacchio, the whole La Squadra were bring back to life.
Even Doppio was back but in a boddy of his own.
Everyone thought at first this was the work of [Gold experience requiem] but it was reveiled later this was the work of another stand which will put Giorno, his gang and even Jotaro with the SWF on a big infestigation which will lead them to the stand user resposible for this mystery and unknowly to them and to Marinette to one big bizarre family reunion.
The bizarre family arc:
With everything which happened in Italy, Marinette not only had to deal with Lila, Hawkmoth, the akumas and her guardian duties but also with the discovery of an extended families and horrible and disturbing informations about “one of her bio fathers”.
And one day Lila took things too far leading Marinette to unleash all her frustration, stress and anger making her akumatised and it will be up to Giorno as a temporary Ladybug holder, her true friends and her family to saved her from herself and from Hawkmoth’s influence.
But the task will be hard with not only Marinette being akumatised but also with her stand [Viva la vida] having being unconsciously corrupted by Mayura while trying to corrupt Marinette turning her into a sentimonster.
The bizarre final showdown arc:
A alliance between Hawkmoth and a mysterious priest will lead the miraculous villain to his ultimate plan by helping the priest to resurect a powerful man, a man infamous for being a curse to the Joestar family and to the world, with the promise to achieve Heaven and to gain a power which will allow Hawkmoth to do all he want.
It will be up to Marinette, her friends, allies and her new found family to put an end to Hawkmoth once for all and to beat this priest before the worst happen with the resurection of the infamous Dio.
But bizarre chains of events will lead to another resurection, the resurection of a man very well know by the Joestar family and who’s tightly connected to Marinette, Giorno, Donatello, Ungalo and Rikiel.

Mismatch- Part 1
Bio Dad Bruce Wayne Month 2020
Just found out this is a thing! I have a couple of miraculous fics like that (all of them, not really but still!)
Next
------
“We’re late, we’re late, we’re going to be so late,” Ladybug mutteres to herself, as her earrings beep again.
“Yeah, late for our three hour wait,” Chat Noir jokes, running alongside Ladybug. “Which, by the way, is in place so no one is late,”
“Not the point! We still haven't packed!” Ladybug threw her yo-yo out.
“Oh dear if only we had a super convenient way to instantly travel between continents,” Chat Noir teases, landing next to Ladybug.
“We cannot use the horse miraculous for selfish reasons,” They could see the bakery now and sped up before they transforming back.
“Selfish?” Chat calls from behind, the window was open so they jump straight down onto Marinette's bed, “We couldn’t pack cause we spent all afternoon saving Paris, how is that selfish?”
Marinette’s transformation fall as she speeds down the stairs into their room, throwing clothes in her pink polka-dotted suitcase.
“Marion, I don’t have time to argue about this, now pack,” Marinette commands.
“Yes sir,” Marion jokingly salutes as he drops his transformation, giving Plagg cheese before he could complain.
Marinette did her best to quickly fold the clothes, which ended up in a jumbled mess regardless. Marion didn’t seem to care either way and just stuffed whatever clothes he could find into his suitcase.
“Nette, are we putting the Miracle box in a suitcase or carry on?” He asks, pausing before he packs more.
“Better do carry on, we can tell security it's a gift for Aunt Selina that we didn’t want to lose,” Marion nods and shoves an armful of clothes into the suitcase.
Marinette starts rooting around for something, Marion hands her a sketchbook filling her face with relief. The two work frantically for the next ten minutes, Marinette reading off a checklist. She double checks both their bags despite Marion's protests.
“Are you two ready to go, the taxi’s here!” Their Papa calls from downstairs, as Marion is packing his laptop into a backpack.
“Just a minute!” Marinette assures, rushing to the Miracle box to safely zip it into a secret compartment underneath her bag, covering the pocket up with her tablet, another sketchbook and water bottle.
Marion opened up his satchel for Plagg and Kaalki, double checking he had his passport, phone and wallet, Marinette doing the same. Once they were set they gave each other a nod, grabbing their bags to take downstairs.
“Do you have everything?” Their Maman asks, as they struggled to take their heavy bags downstairs.
“Everything that's important,” Marion answers cheerfully.
Sabine nodded with a smile, very used to the panicked calls telling her they forgot something at home.
“Well this isn't a tour bus so make sure you have your toothbrush,” Sabine takes the suitcase from Marion easily.
“Ah!” Marion dashes upstairs to their joint bathroom, fond but exasperate looks following him.
“Now remember to have fun,” Tom tells Marinette, “This isn’t work, make sure to spend time with your friends,”
“Well it’s a little work,” Marinette smiles, it had seemed like a waste to go to Gotham without having a concert. They plan on going to a few more cities in the states after the rest of their class goes back to Paris.
“Make time for fun anyway,” Sabine gives her daughter a hug.
“We will,” Marion runs back downstairs, quickly unzipping his suitcase. Marinette cringed at the mess of clothes all spilling out and was sure a toothbrush wasn't the only thing he forgot.
Marinette gave her Papa a goodbye hug as Sabine helps Marion close his overflowing suitcase. Marion starts to say his goodbyes as Marrinette goes downstairs to promise the taxi driver they're coming. Tom follows shortly, carrying down their suitcases.
“You stay safe ok, Gotham is dangerous,” Tom warns, as their bags are loaded into the car.
“We will, promise,” Marion assures, knowing full well there were two costumes upstairs they plan on using in Gotham, at least they are bullet proof, “Love you,”
“We love you too,” Sabine squeezes them into a tighter group hug.
“I love you too, but we’re really late,” Marinette tries to wriggle out of the hold.
“Make sure you call us,” Tom laughs, letting them go.
“We will,” They get in the taxi, rolling down the window to wave goodbye as they speed down the street.
“Well, I haven’t got any messages demanding to know where we are so that's good, right?” Marinette scrolls through her phone.
“Everything is going to be fine,” Marion rolls the window back up. “We’ve been hours late before and they waited,”
“That was because we were-” She casts a look at the driver, “That was different, I doubt they’d do it again,”
“They better, you're the only reason the class gets to go on this trip,” Marion starts rooting through his carryon, probably double checking everything.
“You helped,” Marion snorts at that.
“I proofread,”
“You gave me lots of ideas, and helped me write it, and you were the one that suggested it in the first place, and-”
“Ok, ok stop,” Marion playfully places his hand over her mouth, and they both brake down in giggles.
They arrive at the airport probably quicker than they should have and unload as fast as they can. They rush inside looking around for the class. They are gathered in a group with Miss Bustier at check in, somewhere around the midway point. The twins walk over to them, remaining on the other side of the tape, not in line.
“Oh good you're here,” Madame Bustier clasping her hands, “I’m afraid you’ll have to go to the back of the line, we can all meet up before security,”
“Looks like you got what you wanted, now we’re all going to be late,” Lila sneers from the crowd around her.
Most of the class gave them slight glares, the others avoiding them. Alya rolls her eyes at them and turns back to Lila asking another question about her newest tall tale. Marinette tries to ignore the sting and Marion rolls his eyes right back at her, Chloe was having a bad influence on him.
“We won't be late for anything,” Kagami speaks up, making her way towards them, “We have plenty of time before the flight leaves, I’ll join you two,”
The twins smile as Kagami ducks underneath the tape, pulling her comparatively smaller suitcase with her. The three walk together asking each other how packing was, Kagami cast them an unsurprised look when they told her what happened, omitting a few details.
“Can’t you use the first class line,” Marinette asks, as they reached the back of the check in queue.
“I was here before Madame Bustier, she insisted we stand together in line so the others could find us and not get confused, many joined us late,” Anyone could hear the venom in her voice at the hypocrisy.
“Don’t worry about it,” Marion tells her, “We wouldn’t have cut in anyway, it’d be rude to the people behind us,”
Marinette nods scanning the people around them.
“Adrien is over there,” Kagami tells her, Marinette blushes but looks to where she's pointing.
Adrien was talking with Nathalie, there was no luggage around them. They watch as Nathalie leave, an outsider wouldn’t be able to guess they knew each other. Adrien looks around, probably for the class, but saw Marinette waving instead and waves back.
“Hi,” He smiles a smile that could almost beat the twins pure sunshine. They do their greetings, or Kagami and Marion do, Marinette babbles nonsense.
“Did you already check in?” Marion asks.
“Yeah, but I’d rather stand in line with you,” Adrien smiles, no one but Marinette missing how he glances at her.
“So where's Gorilla?” Marion shuffles forward with the line a bit.
“MDC and MCD specifically requested that he go with them on their tour of America, so-”
“That means you're free to do whatever the check you want,” Marion finishes, giving his shoulder a light punch.
“Yeah- did you just sensor ‘heck’?” Adrien puzzles.
*gasp*”Watch your mouth Agreste,” Marion mocks, a smile giving him away. They both smile knowing full well that Gorilla wouldn't be guarding anyone until the end of the class trip, so would have lots of free time for a mini vacation.
“You’re Father is an irrational man, insisting on a bodyguard to everywhere but one of the most dangerous cities in the world,” Kagami says bluntly, Marinette cringes as Adrien's face falls.
“That's because he knows you’re going to be there, Gotham should be very afraid,” Marinette tries to cover up, making Adrien smile slightly.
“Plus a bodyguard signals someone worth something, probably better to have a Kagami,” Marion helps along. Kagami seems to find this acceptable, given that she tries to hide her blush, and drops the topic.
They continue chatting about what they were most excited for in Gotham. Marinette mentions that she was dying to see the botanical gardens, Marion could almost hear the cogs in Adrien's brain turning. A familiar voice interrupts yelling across the busy airport.
“Chloe we’re over here,” Adrien waves his arms for the blonde looking around.
She turns and waves back. Marinette is surprised to see she was carrying just one suitcase, but understands as her butler follows with several more.
“You’re going to be over the limit,” Kagami simply states as Chloe pushes her way to them, not seeing or ignoring the irritated people around.
“So what?” Chloe asks, as he suitcases are placed around her.
Kagami looks like she was about to continue, but stops as Adrien just placed a hand on her shoulder and shakes his head. She sighs and ignores Chloe's smug look, everyone knew that argument would go nowhere.
Adrien and Marion both happily greet her. Kagami and Marinette, less enthusiastic but still friendly. Chloe starts on a tangent about how she was stuck on what outfit to wear on the plane, because it had to be comfortable but also had to be fabulous enough to be her introduction to America. Marinette at least had to admit she was good at filling silence.
They make their way slowly to the front of the line. Luckily with minimal complaining from Chloe, who they distracted each time she got restless, with questions about her of course.
When they reach the front of the line Adrien stands to the side while they checked in. The only one who runs into problems was Chloe who predictably had to pay a fee for more bags, and overweight bags. Marinette fears how it will be coming back.
After they’re all checked in, they find the rest of the class waiting by the security, sitting down on the chairs around. They ignore Lila's comments about them taking too long while Madame Bustier does a headcount.
“Ok, now that everyones here I would like to remind you all that this trip is a great honour granted to us by the Wayne Foundation and I expect you all to be on your best behaviour. Now Gotham can be quite dangerous so it is important you all stay close and don’t go wandering off without telling me…” The speech goes on awhile longer before they were allowed to get in line for airport security.
“I’m telling you Chloe they will make you take it off, just do it now so you don't hold up the line,” Marinette reasons, as they shuffle forward after the rest of the class.
“Believe me once they see how fabulous I look, they won't,”
“That’s not how it works,” Marinette bites out.
“Rules were made to be broken,” Chloe dismisses, looking at her nails.
“This is airport security,” Marinette is close to tearing her hair out. Seeing this Kagami sends Chloe a death glare over Marinette's shoulder.
“Fine,” The blonde huffs out, reaching up to unclasp her necklace.
“Oh I’m just not sure,” Lila pouts much louder than needed. “The plane could make my tinnitus so much worse,”
“Excuse me Lila but didn’t you say Ladybug cured your tinnitus?” Max asks, holding his pile of technology that has to be scanned separately.
“Well I didn’t want to mention it but it came back a while ago, I guess the cure was only temporary,” Lila covers for herself.
“Oh dear,” Rose says with unfortunately genuine concern. “I wish you’d have told us we could have helped,”
Alya, Sabrina, Mylene, Kim, Juleka and Ivan all nod or voice their agreement.
“Oh you guys that's so sweet, I’m sorry I just didn’t want to bother you,” Lila says, queuing up her fake tears.
“Don’t worry about it girl, you could never bother us,” Alya assures, giving Lila a hug. Lila's victorious smirk would have been directed at Marinette if Kagami wasn't blocking her.
As they get closer to the check Marinette and Marion send their Kwamis off with their miraculous quietly. Marion pretending to put his glasses in his bag. They get through the check fine until Chloe... surprisingly doesn't set off the alarm, but that doesn't stop security from pulling her aside to check her bags after noticing some concerning items.
“Well yeah, who doesn't take hairspray on a plane?” Chloe challenges the tired looking security guard.
“This could take awhile,” Marinette whispers to the group who nod in agreement. The class had already gone ahead, Madame Bustier telling them to be at the gate at least twenty minutes before boarding.
They need to look for their Kwamis. They left Chloe to argue with the guard, telling her they would be at duty free just up ahead.
They pursue through the duty free, which teenagers doing might seem strange. They can't call out with Kagami and Adrien so close. Marion spots the candy section, tugging on Marinette's sleeve.
Marinette sighs knowing Tikki will definitely be there. The two sped off leaving Kagami and Adrien wandering behind. There was a kid there looking at the candy, but went running off when their parents called them.
“Tikki,” Marinette whispers, searching through the blocks of chocolate.
“Down here,” Plagg answers instead. The twins bend down, yelping when their heads knock together. Rubbing their heads they saw Tikki hugging a giant Toblerone block like the Kwami's life depended on it. Plagg was off to the side looking pouty, Kaalki looks indifferent. They fly over to Marion who slid his ring back and glasses back on as his Kwamis hide.
“Tikki let’s go,” Marinette whispers, Marion standing to look at the other chocolate.
“No,” Tikki said stubbornly, as Marinette puts on her earrings.
“Why can’t I find a block of camembert that big,” Marinette hears Plagg whine to Marion.
“Comeon Tikki, please,” Marinette begs, trying to tug the block away.
“Because no one but you would eat it,” Marion tells Plagg.
“I’ve never seen one this big before,” Tikki whispers with stars practically dancing in her eyes.
“Exactly it's perfect,” Plagg gushes, Marinette could feel the eye roll.
“Plleeeeeeeeaassssse?” Tikki gives Marinette the biggest baby doll eyes the small Kwami could manage, this was a losing battle.
“Every time,” Marinette sighs, picking up the large block. Tikki cheers flying into her purse.
She goes to the counter to reluctantly pay for the block. Then joins Marion where he was now standing with Kagami and Adrien.
As Marinette walks over Adrien's eyes practically light up at the sight of the giant Toblerone block. Marinette had already opened it, slipping a piece to Tiki. She sees the awe on Adrien's face.
“Um, would, would you like some?” Marinette asks, blushing at her stammering.
“Can I?” Adrien wonders, as if she is offering him some sort of treasure.
“Of course!” Marinette exclaims, breaking him off a piece immediately, smiling brightly.
Adrien starts to blush at her smile, then combusts as she hands over the piece, their fingers accidentally brushing. He fumbles trying not to drop the piece.
“Thank you so much,” Adrien smiles and Marinette might be clinically dead.
“Sorry-I mean thank you- I mean good-I,” Marinette stutters.
Both Marion and Kagami smirking. Marion notices Kagami looking a little jealousy at the block, but both are unwilling to interrupt(or save Marinette) from this little scene. So he sneaks off and buys another block, breaking off a piece and handing it to her. Kagami looks surprised, then smiles, accepting it with a thank you as they both watch the two blushing disasters. Marinette notices Marion holding another block and looks confused.
“You could have asked,” Marinette offers, holding out her block.
“But then I would be left without a weapon, engard!” Marion shouts, dropping into a not-at-all-correct fencing pose. Marinette catches on, hitting her block against his as fake swords.
The two are left pretending to be bad at swordplay, much to the amusement of the actual fencers. They ‘fight’ to a more open area away from the duty free, into a corner viewing the security check. Chloe casts them a confused look before rolling her eyes at their antics. When Marinette boinks Marion on the head he over dramatically collapses with a gasp.
“Adrien-A-Adrien are you there,” Marion reaches out blindly.
“I-I’m here,” Adrien drops down to his knees, clasping Marion's hand.
“Adrien, Adrien listen… no matter what… you must avenge me,” Marion gasps out, while Marinette is trying not to deflate into giggles.
“I-I don’t know if I can,” Adrien cries.
“You can, I know you can… I… believe…. In………. You……………. Blegh,” Marion sticks his tongue out, the universal sign of being dead.
“NooooooOOOOOooooooooOOOooooo,” Adrien yells, except not really because this is an airport and that would be rude so he whispers. At that Marinette starts crackling with laughter, no longer being able to hold it in.
“You think this is funny you-you monster,” Adrien bellows, as dramatic as possible, picking up the Toblerone. Marinette can’t answer as she just starts laughing harder.
Adrien ‘lunges’ at her, pretending to miss as Marinette tries to dodge through her laughter. The two keep ‘fighting’ every time Marinette starts to recover; she just breaks out into more giggles.
“You should probably get off the floor, it’s dirty,” Kagami tells Marion, who is still playing the part and not at all calling out ‘avenge me’ every ten seconds to make Marinette start giggling again.
“Oh shine your right,” Marion scrambles to stand up.
“Oh no a zombie,” Kagami says, montone, but Marion can tell she's trying.
“Brrrrains,” Marion groans out, making Kagami's lip twitch.
“At last!” Adrien calls out in victory, holding his ‘sword’ over Marinette who has completely cracked up and is curled over on the floor “I have defeated you,”
“Not so fast,” Kagami interjects picking up Marinette's dropped block, “I challenge you for the life of this mortal,”
“Oh great one,” Adrien calls, Marion doubts even he knows what he's talking about. “I must slay them to avenge my fallen brethren,”
“Thats me!” Marion exclaims, too happily for a guy that just died. Marinette starts laughing harder, Marion is concerned she's not breathing.
“You will have to defeat me first,” Kagami lunges at Adrien with the actual skill of an accomplished fencer.
Marion watched the two in awe as they somehow manage to make fencing with Toblerone blocks look cool. Marion walks over to Marinette, who is still laughing.
“You ok?” He asks, causing Marinette to start laughing harder. “Right got it,”
Marion sits down and rubs her back to help her calm down as she takes gasping breaths. Breathing out how her ribs hurt through the laughter. She starts to calm down into smaller giggles and sits up with Marion to watch the two fencers. They had even managed to draw the attention of some people around them, mostly the bored people waiting in line.
They both start getting more intense. Adrien lunges just a little too forcefully and the silver covered chocolate goes flying out the cardboard across the room. That is officially too much as the twins start howling with laughter. Adrien is frozen for a moment before he doubles over with laughter. Kagami even joins in, quietly chuckling. There are some people around them who are either laughing or smiling with them.
Once Adrien calms down a little he walks over to where the chocolate flew. Someone who had witnessed the 'fight' had picks up and hands it to the laughing boy as he comes over, chuckling themselves. They all gather to sit together and calm down their laughter. They try to keep quiet by each time someone starts to giggle again they all break down laughing. It takes some time but they all calm down.
“Sorry about that,” Adrien says, handing the chocolate back to Marion.
“Don’t ever apologise for something that makes us laugh that hard,” Marion smiles back, then descends into another bout of giggles,
They wait for Chloe a little longer until Kagami gets impatient. She marches over to where Chloe is still ‘talking’ with the guard. The others can’t hear what she says, but she pushes the pile of unauthorised stuff to the guard, closes Chloe's bag, and drags her away in little under thirty seconds.
“I really liked that nail polish,” Chloe pouts as they walk over to the others, who are grabbing their bags.
“Why would you bring it in carryon?” Kagami takes her bag from Marinette.
“I wanted to paint them on the plane,” Chloe looks at her nails sadly.
“Chloe you had ten vials!” Kagami accuses, as they started to walk.
“I couldn't decide which color,” Chloe pouts as they walk through duty free.
“They were the same color,”
“No they weren't! You take that back!” Chloe shouts, outraged.
“No,” Kagami states calmly, as they leave duty free.
“First of all how dare you I had canary, lemon, dandelion, honey-” Chloe starts counting out on her unpainted fingers.
“Those are all yellow,” Kagami fumes.
“They’re actually very different,” Marinette interjects, Kagami giving her a look of betrayal, but the girl is a fashion designer, what can you do?
“See? Marinette gets it, why can’t you?” Chloe asks, throwing out her hands.
“Why do I have to ‘get’ anything?”
“Because it's important to me,” Chloe sniffs, turning away.
“And why would I care?”
“Because- Oh my God look at those sunglasses!” Chloe cuts in front of Kagami to look at the pair on display in one of the airport’s shops. The group follow, still having plenty of time before they had to be at the gate.
“I like this pair,” Chloe says, looking at herself in the mirror.
“But this pair's shape suits your face shape much better,” Marinette hands Chloe another pair that she swapped over.
“Hmmmm, you’re right, what do you think Kagami,” Chloe poses for the girl.
“I don’t care either way,” Kagami answers truthfully.
“Hmph,” Chloe turns back around to admire her reflection.
“We are going to Gotham, I don’t think they get a lot of sun there,” Adrien pipes up, wearing a pair Chloe insisted he try.
“Doesn’t need to be sunny to look fabulous Adrien,” Chloe places another pair on his head.
“Is that the only word you know?” Kagami mutters.
“What was that?” Chloe asked, eyes narrowing.
“Nothing” Kagami answers shortly.
“How about we exchange some money?” Marinette suggests, cutting Chloe's comeback off.
“I don’t need to, I have a credit card,” Chloe says, flaunting her purse.
“It's always good to have some on hand,” Marinette plucks the glasses off her head and puts them back on the stand as Marion guides the protesting blonde away.
They exchange the cash, Marinette and Marion having to prevent Chloe from exchanging more than was actually necessary. They tuck it safely in their respective wallets letting their Kwamis watch over it.
They decide to get some food, Marinette and Marion immediately giving way to Adrien's excitement over eating Mcdonalds. Chloe refuses to go near the fast food place, and Kagami also refuses. So Chloe ends up dragging Kagami to look at more shops.
They take their food to an empty table. Adrien having a pile of food while the twins have a burger each and fries to fight over, not that they would have it any other way. Marinette watches completely spellbound at Adrien's simple excitement as he tried all the junk food. She vows to herself that she would take him everywhere in Gotham that sold something deep fried. Marion was slightly scared Gabriel would kill them after this trip, but it would definitely be worth it.
Marion decides to scroll through MCD’s social media before he has to turn his phone off. Marion smiles to himself at all the people in Gotham excited about his upcoming concert. He would be using the newly adapted outfits of all Gotham’s heroes that Marinette had finished weeks prior. It would be a nice surprise as everyone thought he was just going to wear the ones they already made.
“Hey Nette, do you think we can hold a meet and greet in Gotham?” He whispers so Adrien can’t hear. Although it is doubtful he would be able as he slips into a food coma, refusing to stop.
“Mmmmhmmm,” Marinette hums, as she keeps looking at Adrien with heart eyes.
Marion shrugs and sends their manager a quick email. She was a friend of Penny’s who had helped them out ever since they were small-time, despite being skilled enough to get jobs with much bigger celebrities. He gets an email back almost immediately telling him it would be hard to set up but she would try.
They spend as much time as possible away from the gate. Adrien had gotten a stomach ache and Marinette was rubbing his back as he groaned into the table. Marion offered the untouched food to surrounding people. Pointing to Adrien as he explains. Most people laughed and accept the food with thanks. Marion was glad he had a friendly disposition, he somehow doubted people would take the same food from Chloe.
Kagami and Chloe eventually come back. Kagami seemingly defeated, helping Chloe carry some bags. Marion smiles at the two but knows better than to say anything. Chloe sees Adrien's state and starts ranting, in her own caring way.
“Just the sight of that stuff is enough to make me sick, imagine what actually eating it does to you, oh, I don’t have to because you’re demonstrating that quite well,” Chloe gestures wildly.
“I think it’s more the volume that's the issue here,” Marion placates.
“Peasant food,” Chloe sneers, Marion smirks at her and they both start giggling.
“Oh that reminds me,” Chloe says, pulling out her phone still giggling. “I was filming your little scene,”
Marion shifts closer to Chloe, Kagami and Marinette watching over their shoulders. They don’t have audio but they see Marion as he dramatically falls down, causing Marinette to start giggling. They all start laughing as the chocolate goes flying out the wrapper, the angle showing just how far it went.
“Send me that,” Marion giggles, under 5 seconds later his phone beeped, “Witchcraft,” He whispers.
“You better believe it,” Chloe smirks.
“We should head to the gate,” Kagami was looking at the time on Chloe's phone screen. “Adrien can you move?”
Adrien groaned into the table, which probably meant ‘of course I’m raring to go!’.
“There's barf bags on the plane,” Marinette supplies, in what was trying to be helpfully. It likely just made Adrien die inside at the fact that Marinette had now envisioned him puking.
They manage to pry Adrien off the table. Making their way to the gate where the rest of the class was. Most of the class are sitting together, besides Max, Nathaniel and Alix who all sit alone. Well Max did have Markov.
Lila is concocting some story about the heroes from Young Justice fighting over her last time she was in America.
“Oh wow, maybe you can introduce me, I’m dying to get some interviews for my blog,” Alya babbles.
“Maybe, I’m just worried they’ll be fawning over me instead of paying attention to you,”
They walk right past the group and go towards the window. They settle down for the remaining wait looking out at the planes flying in and out. Marion and Marinette point out each time a new plane is arriving or departing. They watch with interest as smaller vehicles dart around the large plane delivering luggage and fuel. Kagami gladly listens to the twins chatter. Adrien is just glad to be looking out the window. Chloe is trying to savour her last moments with her phone.

I’m baaaack. I saw the is idea for this on Tiktok where basically Marinette saves Chat Noir she’s on top like when Chat saves Ladybug and he can’t function, so she smirks and flicks his bell. It’s a little spicier than the stuff I usually write so be warned! As always they are aged up so Marinette is 17, Adrien is 18. And much like some of my other fics, Chat can use multiple Cataclysms while Ladybug has to run off and recharge. Again, the content is kinda spicy so I’m going to say 14+ for this one. So enjoy!
———————————
You’ll never guess who was akumatized again. That’s right, Lila, why? Because she was caught lying this time.
Marinette was exhausted, being the new guardian and all. She slept through half of first period, dozed off in Ms. Mendeleev’s class twice, and nearly face-planted on the staircase outside the school. Needless to say, everyone was worried about her, especially Adrien. He felt he was partly responsible after all. His late night visits with her seemed to have taken their toll. Maybe he should stick to UMS tournaments on the weekend and Fridays.
Not everyone was worried though (somehow), one of those people being Lila. Over the years she’d become more and more set on gaining the attention of everyone in a 2 mile radius. While she usually only bragged about her “charity work”, the opportunity to slander Marinette wouldn’t go unused.
“I’m so worried about our poor Marinette.” She cooed, “Ever since she downloaded that app, oh it’s only gotten worse.” The class stared at her puzzled. In mock surprise, she covered her mouth, “Whoops! Oh I’m such a blabber mouth.” Adrien couldn’t see her lips, but he was sure they were curled into a nasty smirk. “Wait what? What app?” Alya piped up. “Oh she didn’t tell you? She’s a sugar baby. She’s been on Tinder getting money from older men. How do you think she pays for her supplies.”
He’d had enough, “Seriously Lila, if you’re going to spread rumours about people at least make sure they’re true. You don’t even hang out with Marinette, how would you know that before me or Alya?” She pulled out her best sad smile. “Oh Adrien, she confided in me because she was too scared of what you would think.” Alya cut her off, “No Adrien’s right, Marinette doesn’t like you Lila. I’m sorry but it’s true. There’s no way she’d tell you something like that.” Adrien put his hands in his pockets in triumph, but not before Lila got her phone out and held it up, showing Marinette’s supposed profile on Tinder. There was a picture of her face right on the profile. “I managed to hack into her account last night. Just look at all these creepy old men she’s matched with.” She scrolled through the list of men, most of them looked to be in their late 40s. Anger bubbled inside him.
“Seriously Lila! She’s still underage, don’t make a fake profile of her on Tinder. Now all of these old men know what she looks like. What would happen if they tracked her down. I swear to god if she’s ever hurt because right this I’ll-” He was ready to strike when a hand touched his back and a head fell against his shoulder. “What’s going on?” Marinette asked, she rubbed her eyes. “Girl let me see your phone.” Alya demanded. Marinette slumped over to her before placing her phone in the bestie’s hand. She walked behind Alya and wrapped her arms around her shoulders from behind.
Adrien, or rather, Chat Noir was no stranger to Marinette’s sleepy cuddling tendencies. He remembered many nights that involved her wrapping around him while blinking back sleep. Whether it was watching movies, playing video games, or even sketching. She somehow always found a way to cuddle up to him. Not that he was complaining, it was the best way to get her to sleep after all. She’d lean on him and he’d wrap around her, start purring, and play with her hair while she drifted off. He of course was adapted to running on less than 5 hours of sleep anyways, besides, hearing the sleepy sounds she’d make were always worth it. So seeing her cuddle up to Alya did make him a little jealous yes, was he going to say anything, probably not. He’d probably suggest a movie marathon that night to get his fair share in.
He watched while Alya scrolled though Marinette’s phone. Marinette subconsciously nuzzling into the crook of her friend’s neck. “Take a look everyone. Do you see the app for Tinder anywhere on my girl’s phone?” The class stared at it. “I don’t see it.” Rose squeaked. “Well obviously not, Marinette picks up shifts at the bakery sometimes to pay for all that stuff.” Alix shouted while walking towards them. She wasn’t there when Lila was talking about it. Adrien looked at her confused. “How did you know what she-?” She cut him off, “Nathaniel told me.” He looked at him and Nathaniel’s face turned as red as his hair. “He wanted to say something but he’s still really shy.” Alix whispered to Adrien. Adrien turned back to see his friends crowding around the bench where Lila sat, all of them were scowling at her. One by one they started voicing their disapproval. “Don’t spread rumours about our friend.” “Seriously Lila, not cool.” Lila got up from the bench and calmly walked towards the exit with her belongings in hand. It was the end of the day anyways.
He saw Marinette stumbling towards the locker room to pick up her backpack, Alya guiding her with an arm wrapped around her shoulder. “Maybe your purrincess could use a lift home.” Plagg suggested from his pocket. “Hey you’re right, maybe then Lila wouldn’t be able to start more rumours about her. Everyone would know why she’s been up late.” He considered the idea. “But what about Hawkmoth? I don’t want him to target her.” Plagg tried to fly up to his eye level but Adrien quickly slapped the kwami back into his jacket. “Ow hey what was that for?” Plagg yelled, “I’m in the middle of the school foyer, I’m already getting weird looks for slapping myself so don’t make it any worse.” That earned a little pinch from his friend “A little pay back, now if you don’t transform and pick up your sleeping beauty I’ll carry her back home myself. I don’t trust that girl to walk across the street by herself.” Adrien smiled, “Aww does the cheese monster have a soft spot for my purrincess, I thought there was only room for camembert in your heart.” Plagg rolled his eyes, “Yeah well if I can make room for you, then I can make room for pigtails. Now go and transform before you miss your chance.” He flew back into Adrien’s pocket. Touched by his kwami’s speech, Adrien walked towards the exit and sprinted around the corner. Luckily he had fencing practice today so his bodyguard wouldn’t be waiting for him.
He ducked into an alleyway and transformed after making sure he wasn’t followed, Chat Noir emerging from where Adrien was seconds ago. He ran back towards François DuPont to meet his little mouse at the front. As she emerged covering a yawn, Alya spotted him. Immediately she whipped out her phone and ran towards him, leaving Marinette behind. “Chat Noir! What are you doing here? Out for an afternoon patrol?” She held up her camera to record him. “Actually I’m here to pick up a certain little lady. I’ve been keeping her up at night and word has it she’s dead tired.” Alya blinked before turning towards her friend and looking back at him with wide eyes. He nodded and looked back up only to see Marinette trip over her feet. He rushed over and caught her around the waist in a hug before she could smash her face into the pavement. “Well hello there Mari, fancy seeing you here.” She looked up at him and smiled before stretching her arms up and wrapping them around his neck. “Hey kitty.” She murmured before resting her face on his chest. He sighed and bent down a little to sweep her up, he gently repositioned her into a hip carry with his other hand wrapping under one of her thighs. She immediately snuggled into him, her head resting on his shoulder. Alya stood there, her mouth agape. “Hey uh, would you mind grabbing her bag for me miss Ladyblogger?” He asked, nodding at it. She snapped out of it and picked it up off the steps where it had fallen. She passed it to Chat who slung it over his free shoulder and started heading towards Tom and Sabine’s bakery, with a certain fox tailing him.
The three, well the two of them walked while Marinette was peacefully carried by Chat Noir. Alya chuckled “Are you, purring?” He blushed a little before giggling back, “Yeah I am, I usually do it when she’s really tired, it puts her to sleep really quickly.” She smirked at him, “So this is a regular occurrence?” He stammered “I well uh yes for a while, not every night but umm.” He blushed and looked down at her. “If only I knew Marinette was sleeping with one of Paris’ superheroes.” She said slyly, she was definitely fit for the fox miraculous. He turned away from the journalist, he didn’t want to see him blush. His cheek bumped into Marinette’s forehead before resting against it. “It’s not in the way you’re thinking, we usually play video games or watch movies, most of the time she gets really tired and ends up falling asleep on me so I put her to bed.” He looked back at her and she was not convinced. “You mean she gets tired so you cuddle her and purr while she falls asleep then you sneak out the window.” He pouted, “You make me sound like a creepy, and it’s actually the trapdoor to the balcony, I can’t climb through the window without diving through it.” She grinned at him and he rolled his eyes. “Not much better is.. hey what’s that?” He turned to see a figure glaring at them from on top of the school, he didn’t get to look at them for very long before something fast and sharp came barreling towards them.
He didn’t even have time to grab Alya, he only had time to shove her out of the way with his foot before jumping backwards with Marinette pulled tight to him. He stumbled a little, crashing to the ground with a very much awake Marinette landing safely on top of him. She propped herself onto her hands just enough to separate her face from his. “Chat? What’s going on?” A loud cackle was heard behind them and she leapt to her feet, he followed suit and pulled Marinette behind him, making sure she was as separated from the akuma as possible. “My name is Seamstress, with my needle and thread I’ll make sure none of you can ever speak against me.” Seamstress turned to Alya, she pinched her fingers together and make a jabbing motion towards her. Alya’s mouth shut and she covered it with her hand. It looked like she was in pain, then Seamstress pulled her hand back and Alya cried out, but her scream was muffled. She pulled back her hand to reveal that her lips were sewn shut. Marinette tried to run towards her friend but Chat wrapped his arms around her before she could go anywhere. “Alya No!” She screamed, her face full of tears. “I’m really sorry Marinette.” He said before grabbing his baton and vaulting them away from the akuma and Alya.
Marinette held tight to Chat’s neck, despite the sobs that shook her violently. He needed to get her away but he wanted her to breathe. He looked behind him, Seamstress was nowhere in sight, so he jumped into an alleyway and sat down, Marinette sitting in his lap. He sat crisscross so that she could sit more comfortably, she still wasn’t breathing right.
“Marinette I need you to breathe for me ok? I know it’s going to be hard but I have to get you somewhere safe, and I can’t do that if you can’t breathe. Here.” He reached behind him and pulled one of her hands off him and placed it on his chest. “Ok can you feel me breathing?” She nodded against his shoulder. “Ok good, now try to match my breathing ok?” He felt her panting against him as she tried to fix her breathing. It took a few minutes but soon enough her sobs turned into little whimpers of sadness. “Feel better?” He asked and she nodded. She was always quiet like this when she was upset, seeing her friends hurt wouldn’t be something she got over easily. She pulled back to look at him before another tear slipped down her cheek. He quickly reached up and brushed it away, “Ok now we’ve got to-“ An explosion rang out in the street near them, he gently pushed her off of him. “Stay here ok, I’ll come and get you after.”
He ran out from the alley only to come face to face with Seamstress. “Hello kitty, where have you hidden miss goody two-shoes hmm?” She asked, she looked like she’d gone insane, her face twisted into something between and grin and fury. Her face darted from left to right, looking for his princess. Luckily, the dumpster they landed beside blocked Marinette from view. “Like hell I’d tell you.” He turned his baton and extended it towards her, putting as much distance between him and the akuma as he could. “Well if I can’t get you to talk, maybe I should just shut you up!” Her hand thrusted towards him and he saw a needle, he dodged it and her hand snapped open, a drop of blood running down her finger. So if she misses a stitch she’ll prick herself. Good to know.
He dodged needle after needle until he got distracted and stumbled. He fell to the ground and braced for the pain to come to his lips, but it never did. Instead something small crashed into him and they rolled across the road, hitting the curb. He looked up to see Marinette on her hands and knees above him. Her lips were still swollen from crying but in that moment, he couldn’t help but notice how beautiful he was. ‘Geez Adrien great timing.’ He could almost hear Plagg cackling in his head. He just stared at her, mouth agape, then she did something he would never recover from. She smirked, and oh god did he want to kiss her. “What cat got your tongue?” She said before flicking his bell. She stood and pulled him up. He quickly snapped out of it and scooped her up before dashing down the street, the akuma not far behind, he drifted around a corner and silently sprinted down an alley before extending his baton and racing across the rooftops in the opposite direction, successfully leading the akuma in the wrong direction. He brought her to the first place he could think of, the Louvre. He leapt off one of the buildings to the side, summoned a cataclysm to break a glass panel, and landed on the floor inside with Marinette clutched safely in his arms.
“Wasn’t there an easier way to get in here?” She said, a teasing tone to her voice. He wish he wanted to laugh but he didn’t. He was mad, furious even. He told her to stay hidden, out of sight. He told her to wait in the alley for him but she didn’t. “Didn’t I tell you to stay put?” He asked angrily. Hundreds of emotions swam through him, part of him wanted to lecture her for hours, part of him wanted to hug her and make sure she was ok, part of him wanted to kiss her stupid because mon dieu she was beautiful with her hair down like that. He settled for a simple “Stay here this time, I’ll come get you.” Before turning and vaulting towards the akuma.
Ladybug was a little late to the fight but they got it over with fairly quickly. He destroyed the bracelet the akuma was in and Ladybug captured it and fixed everything. “Would you mind taking her back this time? I’ve gotta run.” Ladybug asked and he nodded. Some of his anger had faded but he wasn’t exactly in a good mood right now. She waved goodbye before hurrying off. “So,” he started turning to Lila, “I hope you won’t be spreading anymore false rumours about people now, especially Marinette.” He growled a little and miss liar shrank under his gaze. She nodded before standing and walking away.
He needed to calm down, Marinette was probably scared and hurt and confused, he didn’t exactly leave her on the best note. By the time he arrived at the Louvre it was closed for cleaning. He slipped inside to grab her but noticed that she was standing by the door. “They umm, kicked me out when it closed.” She said shyly. His brows furrowed.
She looked at him confused before he opened his mouth to speak. “I told you to stay hidden and you didn’t listen. Why?” She frowned, “Don’t you mean ‘thank you Marinette’?” She folded her arms in front of her chest. “Uh no I mean why did you run out from your hiding place, I’m the superhero remember, you can’t go running into the middle of an akuma battle. You don’t have superpowers or a magic suit to protect you.” She walked up to him and pushed her finger into his chest, “You were more important when it came to defeating Seamstress, who cares if my mouth is sewn shut because yours will still work. You needed to be safe more than I did so I saved you.” He clenched his fists, “My job is to protect you“ she cut him off “No your job is to help Ladybug save the akumatized person.” He started speaking, “No, my job is to make sure no one gets hurt, I have to keep everyone safe.” She crossed her arms again, “Once Ladybug’s cure fixed everything I would have been fine.” He stood straight, “Well I wouldn’t be, I wouldn’t be able to function knowing you got hurt because I couldn’t protect you.” She grabbed his shoulders, “And how do you think I feel huh? Seeing you die over and over again! So fuck me if I wanted to save you one time! I can’t keep watching you sacrifice yourself over and over again.” Her voice broke, “And what? You think I would be able to keep fighting if I knew you weren’t safe, I don’t think I could live with myself if Anything happened to you.” He wasn’t yelling anymore but he was still angry with her. She was close to crying again she was so angry.
“For heaven sakes you stupid cat!” She blurted before grabbing his bell and pulling him down to her. He saw her eyes close before their lips met. He closed his eyes and kissed her back, it wasn’t a slow gentle kiss either, it was a desperate, passion filled kiss that made him feel like he was struck by lightning. Her hands tangled in his hair and his arms wrapped around her waist. He couldn’t tell if this was heaven or hell, he felt like he was dancing on cloud nine while her lips burned against his neck. She pulled down his bell zipper slightly and he groaned as she left marks on his collar bone. He grabbed her face and pulled her back up to him, gently biting her bottom lip when she smirked.
He heard a whistling noise somewhere behind Marinette but it barely registered and he lifted her up to get her closer to him. She pulled back and he started leaving marks on her identical to the ones she left on him. “Um Chat.” She whimpered and he wanted to hear her say his name again. “Chat.” She said a little louder, “Hey!” She squeaked and he stopped, looking up at her. Her face was bright red and her eyes were wide. “What?” He asked, lowering her to the ground. He quirked an eyebrow at her before looking above her head. It was Alya and Alix, standing there, watching him make out with their best friend. “Uh, hi.” He said awkwardly, rubbing his neck. “Well hi there.” Alix chuckled. Oh no, he was about to die right? “We’ll leave you two to your, umm, whatever that was but make sure you have her home by 9 young man, you understand me?” Geez she sounded like Mr. Dupain. “Yes ma’am.” He chuckled, wishing he could curl up into a ball and hide. The pair walked off, laughing and whispering together.
He felt something heavy crash into his chest, “Oh, mon dieu I’m a goner.” Marinette groaned. He laughed nervously before hugging her and ruffling her hair. She looked up at him, “You’re still an idiot you know.” He laughed for real this time, “And you’re still beautiful.” Her face turned pink and she put her head against his chest again. He sighed and started purring. “I’m sorry I yelled at you, I was just so worried. Like I said, I don’t think I could function if I found out something happened to you.” She wrapped her arms around him and raised herself up to rest her head in the crook of his neck. “I’m sorry too, I’ll try to stay out of trouble.” He smiled, “You’d better, or I’ll go full Weredad and lock you away.” She giggled, “I think you mean Werecat.” He joined her and they laughed together, wrapped in each other’s embrace. “So, how about a movie night tonight?” He asked. “Why don’t we just cuddle until I fall asleep, that’s basically what we do anyways.” He wagged his tail excitedly, “Do you still have the pillow fort set up from last time?” She giggled again, “Yes I do, now let’s go home kitty, it’s cold out here.” Oh right, she didn’t have a jacket on. He quickly scooped her up and they headed off.
That night he got more than his fair share of cuddles, he even stayed for a sleepover. Thank goodness it was Friday.

Integrity (Part 7)
“It’s just a one or two shot,” she said. “Nothing very long.”
She lied. She lied lied lied.
This chapter goes fast because I didn’t want to write it.

“So, how was school today?” Asked Tom. The family was gathered around the little table in the kitchen, Adrien and Marinette sitting next to each other. Sabine had made quiche, remembering that Adrien had greatly enjoyed it. So far, they were sticking to small talk, trying to avoid the inevitable reveal. It had to be natural, of course. “Mom said it was a little rough. You’re still having trouble with that Lila girl?”
“Maybe,” Marinette said as she finished her bite of quiche. “Miss Bustier had us air our grievances like adults. She said she wanted to avoid rumors and gossip, so Lila, Adrien, and I all got to state our sides of the story. And then Chloe and Nino backed us up.”
“So, did it get solved?” Asked Sabine.
“We don’t know,” Answered Adrien. “We didn’t stick around. There was a lot of shouting from the classroom, so…we’re just going to let our classmates decide for themselves.”
Tom gave both of them a surprised glance. “That’s a bold move! Are you sure?”
“You can’t force someone to believe you,” said Marinette wisely. “I know from experience.”
Sabine reached over and patted her hand. “Well, I’m proud of you. You’re learning this lesson very early in life. It does get better as you get older, but some people never outgrow petty behavior like lying. But the older you get, the more dangerous it is to lie. It has bigger consequences for those who it affects, and when you get caught.” She finished with a broad smile. “I’m glad I raised a daughter that’s above lying.”
Marinette smiled at her, before the look fell. She couldn’t have asked for a better opening, but she just wished it hadn’t made her feel so guilty. “Actually maman, papa…there’s something I need to tell you. Something we both need to tell you.”
This was it. The moment of truth. Of course, Marinette trusted her parents, and she knew they’d take it well, but she had just been hiding it for so long…
“I wanted to tell you from day one. It killed me that I couldn’t. It was for your safety, you know?”
“Honey, what are you talking about?” Sabine frowned, concern etching wrinkles around her eyes.
“Just…don’t get mad?”
Tom and Sabine shared a look. “We’ll try.”
Marinette exhaled, and reached over to take Adrien’s hand. “Together?”
“Of course.” He smiled.
“Okay…Tikki, spots on.”
“Plagg, Claws out.”
The bright flash forced Tom and Sabine to look away, and when they looked back, their daughter and her classmate were replaced with the Heroes of Paris.
Silence. It felt like minutes ticked by, as they just sat in silence. Both parents wracked their eyes over the teens, taking in every detail, making every piece fit in their minds.
Marinette held her breath, as Adrien squeezed her hand.
“All this time…? It was you…? Both of you?” Sabine looked absolutely horrified, as she remembered over and over, these two children taking fatal hits and falls, fighting on rooftops and cars, facing off with guns and swords.
Her baby, on the front lines of a magical war.
Marinette nodded, tears starting to form in her eyes.
Suddenly, Tom was laughing. Not just a chuckle. A full on, rattle the windows, fist pounding on the table, absolute uncontrollable laugh attack.
It startled everyone.
“What’s gotten into you, Tom?”
“When did you—“ more laughter. “When did you find out about each other? I have to know!”
Confused, and a little unsettled, Marinette answered, “Um…he found out yesterday, and he told me today.”
That just incited more laughter, as Tom actually fell out of his chair and landed on the floor.
“Papa…?”
“I’m—I’m sorry, cupcake!” He tried to get a hold of himself as he kept giggling. “It’s not—It’s not that funny—!”
The other three just shared nervous glances. Did their reveal drive Tom to insanity?
“Were—“ He wiped a tear from his eye. “Weredad! Breakfast!” He took a deep breath and tried to calm down. “I’m just thinking about that one time Marinette confessed to being in love with Chat Noir, and then he said he had to turn her down for Ladybug. But I knew Marinette had a crush on Adrien! And I got akumatized over that! That’s hilarious!”
Both of the heroes blushed. “Papa…” Said Ladybug.
“No, no you’re right, that was an emotional day for everyone.” He held a straight face for about three seconds before he burst into giggles again.
Although Adrien and Marinette were actually dating now, it didn’t ease the embarrassment for either of them, and they both blushed.
But his laughter did break the tension in the room, and Marinette was able to take a steady breath.
“Now Tom,” Sabine chastised. “Leave the kids alone. I’m sure they had a good reason for hiding their identities from each other.”
“We did. We had to keep each other safe. If one of us fell under control of an Akuma, Hawkmoth could use that to get our identities.”
Tom’s laughter finally subsided as he got off the floor. “I’m sorry, cupcake. I didn’t mean to embarrass you. It was just—you got yourselves in such a pickle!” He retook his seat, and put his head in his hands. “Okay, now that that’s out in the open…is there a wedding in the future?”
Sabine smacked his arm. “Tom!”
“What! You know I’m a huge romantic! And an even bigger Ladynoir fan!”
“What happened to Marichat?” Asked Marinette with a wiry smile.
“Old news. So…?”
“Well sir,” Chat began, a dusting of pink on his cheeks. “I’d like to formally ask you for permission to date your daughter—“
“Yes! Of course! Absolutely!”
“—But,” Chat interrupted right back. “There’s something else we need to tell you before you make your decision.”
“We’re listening,” said Sabine, resting a hand on her overly excited husband. “Take your time.”
“Well,” began Ladybug carefully, “we’re revealing ourselves to you now because it’s safe. You’re the first civilians to know. And you’re the first civilians to know that Hawkmoth has been defeated. Chat took his and Mayura’s Miraculous.”
Absolute joy and pride nearly burst out of both of the parents, as their smiles grew and their eyes sparkled. But before they could celebrate, Chat Noir elaborated, “It’s because of that that I’m here. My...my father is, or was, Hawkmoth. He was suspicious of me, so I had to leave.”
All that joy was snuffed out in a second, and Marinette swore she could hear her parent’s hearts breaking.
A clattering of chairs and Chat Noir was embraced with two pairs of arms.
“You’re a part of our family, Adrien,” Sabine assured. “You will always have a place here with us. It’s going to be okay.”
He didn’t cry when his father had revealed himself. He didn’t shed a single tear because of the shock. But all of the subsequent actions had built up, and now in the arms of the Dupain-Chengs, Adrien felt himself beginning to break down.
“We got you, Kitty.” Marinette promised, the flash of light signaling her transformation.
“Plagg, Claws In.”
The suit faded, and all at once, Adrien let loose his tears of frustration and betrayal. Just a few tears being squeezed out of him by Marinette’s family.
“Thank you.” He choked. “Thank you so much.”
“Of course, kiddo.” Sabine cupped his cheek. “You’re a great kid, and we owe Chat Noir a lot. We want you to be happy, and safe.”
“Marinette is extremely lucky to have you as parents.”
“Oh no,” Tom disagreed. “We’re horrendously annoying and nosy!”
“Papa...” Marinette warned.
“But cupcake! You knew when you got a boyfriend I was going to hound him relentlessly! Don’t act so surprised!”
Sabine patted her husband. “Oh leave them alone Tom. I think we’ve all had a very stressful day. Let’s cool down with a movie, hmm?”
“Actually...there’s still more.”
“More?!” Both Tom and Sabine shouted.
“It’s not as bad as the last bit,” Marinette waved her hands around. “Well...I guess that’s debatable. We need to go to Tibet.”
“Tibet?” Parroted Sabine. “Why on earth would you need to go there?”
“The Guardians of the Miraculous live there in a temple. Adrien and I...well, we learned why Gabriel did what he did.”
“My mother,” Adrien explained. “She’s still alive. She’s in a coma from using a broken Miraculous. He hoped that using our Miraculous would wake her up, but...”
“It’s really risky.” Marinette continued. “We just want to see if the guardians have a better idea.”
“I see.” Sabine breathed. “Where’s Gabriel now? Did you not call the police on him?”
“No.” Adrien shook his head. “We took his Miraculous. He’s not able to hurt anyone anymore. And if we revive Mrs. Agreste, he won’t have a reason to either.”
Tom and Sabine shared a skeptical look. “Are you sure? I know you’re Ladybug and Chat Noir, but...shouldn’t he face judgement for his crimes?”
“I’m being selfish.” Adrien said softly. “I don’t want to lose my father. If I get back my mother, maybe he’ll be back to who he used to be, and we can be a family again.”
“Oh honey,” Sabine cooed, wrapping her arms around him. “It might not happen that way.”
“I know…but it’s worth a try, right?”
Sabine wrung her hands. “But Tibet is just so far! Plane tickets would be expensive—“
“We’re not flying. The Horse Miraculous allows the user to make a portal to any location. We’ll go and be back on Sunday night.”
Sabine frowned. “It sounds like you’re telling, and not asking.”
Marinette gave an uneasy smile. “This is official superhero business. I thought it would be better if we told you?”
Sabine sighed. “Yeah, I suppose it would be. If I can’t stop you, at least I can make sure you’re safe. When do you leave?”
“First thing in the morning. Tibet is six hours ahead of us, so it wouldn’t make sense to leave tonight.”
“Alright, then make sure to pack everything you need for an overnight bag. Papa and I will make sure you have plenty of snacks to take with.”
Marinette smiled. “Thanks maman! The trip is instantaneous though, we don’t need any snacks.”
“Oh but you should offer your hosts some of our pastries! An offering of peace!”
Marinette smiled. “You’re right, of course. Thank you. Both of you. For being so cool.”
—
Later that night, Marinette was mostly asleep when Adrien’s voice pierced through the silence. “Are you still awake, My Lady?”
“Hmm-mmm.”
The floorboards groaned and then her mattress swayed as he climbed up onto her bed, leaning against the wall. “Sorry, I can’t sleep.”
She turned to face him. “I don’t blame you. Wanna talk about it?”
He laid down beside her, propping his head up on his arm. “I can’t really have my family back to normal, can I?”
“Do you want me to answer that honestly?”
“I want to be on the same page as you. You’re…you don’t have the same bias. You know what to do.”
Marinette held her breath, knowing this would be the breaking point. The same question had come back to her over and over too. So what was the right thing to do? Hurt him? Or brush off her duty as Ladybug?”
“He needs to face justice, Adrien.”
He hid his face in her shoulder and nodded. He knew what she would say. He knew what was right. He just didn’t want to believe it. It wasn’t fair.
It was fair, though. His father was a messed up, broken man who had done horrible things, no matter the reason, no matter how temporary. He had scars on his heart from that man that would take years to heal.
“I don’t want you to do that alone, but I don’t know if I can be with you when you turn him in.” He breathed, sobs just at the edge of his voice.
“Kitty, I would never expect you to turn in your own father.”
“But I want to support you. You have so much responsibility to shoulder being the guardian and—“
“Adrien,” she pushed his shoulder so he would look at her. “You single-handedly defeated Hawkmoth. Please, let me take care of the clean up.”
Hesitantly, Adrien nodded.
“But first, let's worry about your mom, okay? One step at a time.”
“Thank you, My Lady. I love you.”
“I love you too, My Prince.”
—
At the break of dawn, Marinette dawned the Horse Miraculous, and along with Chat Noir, departed to Tibet.
The temple was on top a mountain, and stepping from tepid France to frigid Tibet was a whiplash. The snow whipped around, and threatened to knock Marinette’s pastry box right out of her hands.
But they waded through the snow to reach the massive doors of the temple, and knocked.
The door slid open cautiously, a monk watching them with confusion.
“Hello,” Chat translated. “I’m Chat Noir, and this is my partner, Ladybug, or Pinto Rouge, we’re here to learn about the Miraculous.”
Pinto Rouge held up the box.
“We brought snacks!”
Still confused, the monk allowed them inside and instructed them to wait in a large lobby. The room was mostly bare, only decorated with the symbol of the Miraculous on the walls, and huge columns.
“Welcome,” another monk finally greeted. “How can we assist you?”
Both Pinto Rouge and Chat Noir bowed in greeting, offering the pastry box to the man.
“Tikki, Kalkki, divide.” Ladybug whispered, returning to her normal suit.
Chat Noir translated for her, “Pardon our intrusion. My name is Ladybug, and this is my partner, Chat Noir. I don’t actually speak Mandarin, so he’ll be translating for me.”
The monk nodded, indicating that he understood.
“We were picked to be wielders by Wang Fu, who trained me in succession to be a guardian. He was once a student here.”
The assembled guardians all reacted to the name, nodding, some chuckling.
“How is Wang Fu?” One man asked.
“They want to know about Master Fu.” Chat provided. Ladybug answered, and he translated. “He’s well. Unfortunately, he was compromised and named me as guardian, and then lost his memories. He lives with his wife in England now.”
“He must be quite old.”
“186, last I checked.”
“Well, despite not being chosen for our order by the council, you are still a guardian of the Miraculous, and you should be trained as every one is. Where do you hail from?”
“Paris, France.”
“All the way from Paris! Wang certainly fled as we asked. When can you start?”
“As much as I desire to start training as soon as possible, there is something we need help with first.”
They were beckoned into a meeting hall, and sat down among the order. Tea was served, and the pastries were divided up. Then they began the story from the beginning. How Hawkmoth appeared one day, and how they were bestowed Miraculous. How they fought together for over a year against him and Mayura. And then the day of the reveal, how Adrien had come to discover his own father was behind the whole thing, and that his mother was in a magical coma from a broken Miraculous. How that night, he stole the Miraculous and returned them to the Miracle Box.
“So you see, he doesn’t pose a threat to Paris anymore, but his wife, my mother, is still asleep. He wanted to use the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous together to wake her up.”
More nodding as their tale was considered, and then the conversed among themselves, speaking much too fast for Chat to translate completely.
“What are they saying?”
“Some of them are doubtful she can be healed, others are doubtful they can trust us.”
“Yikes.”
“Drop your transformations, as a show of good intentions.”
“They want us to de-transform, My Lady.”
“Oh, okay. No harm in that. Tikki, Spots off.”
“Plagg, Claws in.”
The Guardians seemed much more at ease after they took off the suits.
“I’m Marinette Dupain-Cheng.” She reintroduced.
“And I’m Adrien Agreste.”
“A pleasure.” The monk bowed. “Now, we have discussed what you have said. We will need to examine this woman, Emilie, and the broken Miraculous before knowing exactly what there is to do. Our last resort would be to use the Black Cat and Ladybug, but it is very risky, and works with equivalent exchange. If your father, Gabriel, really wishes to wake her up so badly, he must decide who he wants to give up in exchange. Whether it is another loved one, or himself. He will need to keep that thought in his mind.”
Adrien explained this all to Marinette, who frowned. “Would you be able to handle that? If he decided to take her place?”
Adrien was quiet for a moment, and then admitted, “I’d have to think about it…”
“You’ve both come so far, why don’t you stay the night? We can get in a little training tomorrow before you leave. Then you can return with Emilie when you can.”
“Thank you, Master. We’d love to stay.”
—
Sunday night came quickly with all the training that had taken place. Marinette was thankful she had brought a notebook, since the monks had taught her how to read the coded Grimoire. Adrien had, of course, been there to translate all of it, so he was also being trained as a guardian.
But now it was time to return to Paris, and time to confront Gabriel Agreste.
It could go either way. He could be responsive to help, or he could fight the whole time. It was absolutely unpredictable.
Chat Noir and Ladybug arrived at the mansion at sunset, waiting outside the gate, gathering courage.
“You still with me, kitty?”
“I feel like I’m going to puke.”
“I don’t doubt that. Do you want to come back later?”
He shook his head. “No, the longer we wait, the worse it’s going to be for me. I just…”
“You don’t need to explain yourself to me.” She offered him a smile. “You remember a few days ago? When I had my melt down?”
“Sure.”
“It was this feeling of hopelessness, of everything being completely out of control and the whole world resting on my shoulders. But you gave me control back. You gave me peace of mind. Now I’m here to do everything I can for you. You and me against the world, and you and me against your father.”
He clenched and unclenched his fists a few times before hugging her. Just soaking in her warmth for a while and letting her strength flow into him.
He could do this.
He had to do this.
“Let’s go.”
She rang the doorbell.
The camera came out, spotted them, and the gate opened without a word.
“Out of the frying pan, and into the fire.” Chat muttered to himself.
“He doesn’t have a Miraculous, we’re stronger than him.” She reminded him gently.
He scoffed. “I’m not afraid of him hurting me physically.” The rest went unsaid.
Gabriel opened the door as they approached, then beckoned them inside. He was quiet, reserved, and looked tired. He had bags under his eyes, unkempt hair, and a shadow of a beard on his face.
“Ladybug, Chat Noir, please come in.”
“Your secretary have the day off?” Ladybug asked conversationally.
“Nathalie and the rest of my house staff will be taking an...extended vacation.”
Chat tried to not let his disappointment show, but he had assumed Gabriel would fire anyone he was suspicious of. He just didn’t think that included Nathalie.
“To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Ladybug smiled as pleasantly as she could, like she was talking to any other civilian. “We’re here to help.”
“Ah, with what, exactly?”
“Please show us your wife, Monsieur Agreste.”
Gabriel’s almost pleasant attitude evaporated into something akin to anger. “He told you then? My son ran his mouth?” He sneered.
“Something like that.”
“You have Nooroo now?”
“And Dusuu too, yes.”
“So what now? Have you come to gloat? To beat me up anyways? I’ve already lost everything, what more could you take from me?”
“We’re not here to take anything,” Chat said. “We want to give back.”
“We might have a way to save your wife.”
The tightness Gabriel held began to subside. His fists unclenched, his brow smoothed, and the deep set frown relaxed into open mouthed awe. “You...want to help me save her?”
“Purely for selfish reasons on my end,” Ladybug explained. “If your reason for hurting others is removed, you’re not a threat anymore, right?”
He inhaled, his breath shuddering as he did so. “I never wanted to hurt anyone. This went on for so long, and I kept telling myself that I would quit, that it wasn’t worth it...then I would see an opportunity, and get so close again. I was obsessed, Ladybug. Can’t you see?”
“The powers of the Miraculous can be addicting. Knowing that you were so close to being with your wife again...I don’t blame you.”
Then Gabriel did something they were not expecting.
He started to cry.
“I don’t deserve this. I don’t deserve your help.”
“You don’t.” Chat confirmed. “But your wife and son do.”
“My son hates me. He’ll never speak to me again. And I can’t blame him for it. And my wife...once she knows what I did...this wasn’t worth it. I ruined everything.”
“Mr. Agreste,” Ladybug spoke calmly, as he started to spiral out of control. “Let me see your wife.”
Gabriel collected himself and turned from them, heading to the office.
Ladybug and Chat Noir shared a look. Villain or not, Gabriel Agreste was not well, and he severely needed help. Maybe not even help they could give him.
They followed him into his office, and up to the painting Chat had seen the other night. He typed in the code, and then they were descending in an elevator into a huge cavern.
At the end of a bridge, there was a garden, filled with flowers and swathes of butterflies.
In the middle of it all, was a glass coffin.
It might have been beautiful if it wasn’t so horrid.
Ladybug reached out to take Chat’s hand, holding it in comfort as they walked down the bridge.
“She was using the Peacock Miraculous,” Gabriel explained. “It’s broken. It hurt her, made her sick. By time we figured out what was wrong, it was too late. She had...she had fallen asleep.”
Chat wanted to yell at him to shut up. He had heard the whole pitiful story before, but he just found himself as silent in shock as the first time.
“I have the grimoire too. There was a page on combining the Ladybug and Black Cat miraculous to create an amazing power, capable of granting any wish. Nooroo confirmed that it worked.”
“We talked to the guardians about it. Yes, it would work, but not without equivalent exchange. To wake up your wife, someone else would have to take her place, perhaps you, perhaps your son. There’s no way of knowing.”
“I could have—“ his words got caught in his throat as he fell to sit on the grass. “I could have killed Adrien. I was so concerned with bringing her back, I didn’t even think…” He pulled on his tie, ripping it away from his neck. “What have I done? What have I done?”
“Will you let us take her to Tibet? To see the Guardians?”
“My poor Adrien…I could have lost him. What did I do? I tore apart his room! I hit him! I’d never—“ He moaned as he rocked back and forth.
Ladybug looked at Chat. “Do you want to tell him?” She asked so softly.
“Tell me what?” Asked Gabriel, looking up desperately. “What else is there? What do I have to do? Is Adrien safe? Did you talk to him? Will you talk to him?”
Chat took a calming breath, trying not to lose it at the sight of his insane father. Then he spoke, “Plagg, Claws in.”
Gabriel looked away at the green flash, and when he turned, his tears started again in earnest.
“I lied to you, Father.” Adrien began, before he lost courage. “I’m the one that betrayed you. I had my kwami take your miraculous while you slept. I do want to save mom, but I had a feeling combining the Miraculous wasn’t going to work. So I went to Ladybug. She’s smart and she always has an answer. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, you just…you scared me. You’re still scaring me. I trust that you only had good things in mind but…you’ve changed. You need help, father.”
Gabriel clamored to his feet, finding shaky steps towards his son.
Ladybug stood at the ready, in case he became violent.
Gabriel collapsed on Adrien, hugging him and crying and begging for forgiveness over and over. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry…”
It wasn’t what he had in mind, but he’d take any affection he could get from the man. He hugged him back.
“We’re going to find a way to save her. You don’t have to do this alone anymore.”
“It’s all my fault. I ruin everything…I’ve hurt you so badly.” He pulled away from the hug to hold his face, squishing his cheeks slightly. “I’m so proud of you…”
Pride. Adrien never thought he’d be worthy of his father’s pride. All his life, he had done everything right, and only now, after he had betrayed him and gone behind his back, at the reveal of fighting against him after all this time. Now he’s proud.
It was kind of a kick in the pants.
“Father…”
“You knew when to ask for help, when I didn’t. You knew I couldn’t handle this. You did the right thing…I told you before, that you were a good kid, and you’ll be a great man. I mean it. Adrien…”
And then Adrien understood what was happening. It wasn’t immediately apparent, but with his father’s face so close, he finally figured it out.
“You’re drunk.”
Gabriel started to sob again, grabbing hold of Adrien’s shirt and sliding to his knees. “I didn’t know what to do. I thought I had to say goodbye. I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“Are you really? Or are you just drunk?”
“Don’t leave me Adrien...please, son. I love you.”
Adrien grabbed his hands and pulled, trying to wretch him free from where he was clamped. “Why did it take alcohol to get you to say it?”
“Because I’m awful...I’m worthless, I ruin everything I touch. Everything I did was a waste! I couldn’t save her! Hundreds and thousands and millions of people were hurt because of me! How can I live with that?”
“Adrien,” Ladybug began. “I think we should continue this conversation when he’s sober.”
“No!” Gabriel protested. “Take her! Take her to Tibet and save her! Give Adrien back his mother! Please I beg you!”
“Then what will happen to you?” Adrien asked, looking down on the blubbering mess that was once his indomitable father.
“I’m going to turn myself in. I’ll live with guilt the rest of my life, but let me have some relief! Let me face judgement.” He collapsed onto his hands and knees, bowing at the feet of his son. “Let me earn your trust. Let me earn your forgiveness. Please.”
They spent a long time in silence, Adrien coming to terms with what had to happen.
“My lady,” he finally said. “The Horse Miraculous?”
She handed over the glasses.
“Plagg, Claws out.” In a flash, Chat Noir stood there, and stepped away from Gabriel over to the glass coffin. “Plagg, Kalikki, unify.” Dawning both Miraculous, Belle Noir easily opened the coffin.
“Be careful with her! Please, I beg you Adrien! She’s done nothing wrong.”
“I will be careful,” he spoke calmly, as he reached his arms behind her shoulders and knees.
“Ladybug. Please escort my father to the police. I’ll take care of my mother.”
“Of course, Chat.”
“I’ll find you when I’m ready.”
“Stay safe.”
He only offered a nod of agreement, before summoning his voyage and disappearing into nothing.

MLBDC AU! (Ladybug, Minuit, Monarch, Bumblebee, Viperion and Ryuko)
This is an AU I came up with about a week ago. Requests for anything that happens in this HC are welcome! Feel free to use this AU but please remember to tag me and give credit to me! Thanks and please enjoy this lil thing that I’ve imagined :P
---
- Marinette and Adrien become Ladybug and Chat Noir like how the original is.
- However, about six months after Lila drama starts, Ladybug is tired of Chat’s excessive flirting and his inability to take no for an answer. After he lashed out with his temper on her a couple times, she deems him unfit to be the black cat.
- She talks to Master Fu about it and he agrees, but suggests that she recruit a small band of heroes to help out.
- At the same time, in school, Chloe and Mari have become allies. Sabrina has abandoned Chloe in favor of Lila’s lies, and she’s now a snobbish girl who hangs onto Lila’s every word.
- Mari and Chloe form a little resistance squad.
- Marc, who was like Mari, left school because Lila targeted him a lot. Nathaniel becomes very lonely because of this.
- Mari and Chloe then pull Nath into their little squad.
- Mari and Nath bond over art stuff. Chloe is a little hesitant towards Nath at first, but when she hears him sass Lila’s clothing choices under his breath, she laughs.
- One akuma attack, Chat refuses to help and even puts her in danger. She gets angry, dragging him off into a corner as they hide from an akuma. She takes away his ring, and realizes he’s Adrien- And feels disgusted.
- She then goes to recruit Luka as Viperion.
- After they finish off the akuma, Viperion confesses that he knows who she is, and he promises to keep it a secret. LB is touched by this and their friendship grows stronger. Eventually she lets him keep his miraculous permanently.
- Mari drags Chloe and Nath to meet Luka. On their way, Mari brings Kagami along too.
- Kagami has seen how passive Adrien is and starts to dislike him.
- During another akuma attack, Luka is outstation, so LB brings in Chloe, who changes her name to Bumblebee instead of Queen Bee because Chloe feels like she’s changed and become a better person, and uses a new name to signify her change.
- After he gets back, Luka suggests that they form a permanent miraculous team. Mari considers it and later brings in Kagami as Ryuko as well.
- Kagami and Chloe still don’t know Mari’s alter identity.
- In an akuma attack, Ladybug gets hurt and Chloe and Kagami see who she actually is when she force-detransforms.
- They bring her to Luka’s boat, and Nath, who was there, happens to know first aid so he patches her up.
- So now the entire group knows. Luka-Viperion, Chloe-Bumblebee, Kagami-Ryuko, and Nath is the group’s medic.
- Ladybug still has the black cat miraculous. Plagg is having fun with Tikki, but he’s still lonely and needs a holder.
- Marinette, in the end, decides to let Plagg go and find his holder on his own, making him promise to be responsible about it.
---
- Dami goes to Paris because Bruce said “Damian you need to stop being so stiff about life and get a life”
- Dami’s around seventeen at that time
- Paris was Dick’s idea, because “Damian get a love life before you die alone” “Fuck you grayson” and “City of love it is”
- When Damian arrives in Paris’s airport, his presence is felt by Plagg.
- Plagg follows him discreetly.
- When Damian sees a rapist try to kidnap a girl, he punches said rapist in the face and helps the girl up, and then proceeds to drag the man to the nearest police station with a chaotic smile. In that moment Plagg knows he’s found his holder.
- Damian refuses at first.
- “But you’re really a black-”
- “no.”
- Eventually he has to agree because Plagg has glued the ring to his finger and now he’s the holder of the black cat miraculous. Great.
- He’s still reluctant, but when there’s an akuma that night, he transforms for the first time.
- To say the least, LB, V (Viperion), BBB (Bumblebee) and RK (Ryuko) are more than surprised to see him, but when he has LB’s back, and practically saves her from the akuma, none of the rest complained because the Mari-Protection-Squad just gained a new member.
- He introduces himself as Minuit and bows politely to all the heroes.
- LB returns to her balcony after the akuma, and she’s just watching the stars when Minuit drops by because boy she’s pretty.
- Minuit was going to just watch her at first because he felt a sort of weird presence radiating off her (Her creation miraculous), and he just felt attracted to her naturally (Being yin and yang).
- But Mari senses him, of course. There’s a sudden increase in chaos around the air.
- They make small talk and when Mari smiles at him, Damian is practically smitten.
(Time Skip~ Until Hawky is defeated and Nathaniel is given the butterfly miraculous) {note: In the time skip, Damian attends school with everyone else, but he doesn’t get to know Mari and the rest yet. He just occasionally meets Kagami during fencing practices)
- By that time, Master Fu has died and Mari’s parents are getting older. Since they were getting older, Sabine remembered some places she wanted to go to before she got too old to travel, so Tom decides to take her on a six month trip, knowing that Mari can handle herself just fine.
- Master Fu died so Mari becomes the new Miraculous Guardian. She turns a back room of the bakery into the Miraculous room, which is heavily guarded.
- However, she quickly realizes that she can’t run the bakery on her own, so the gang comes over to help, of course. It’s a hilarious experience.
- Chloe has zero idea about how to bake, Luka is... A little confused, Kagami wants to get everything perfect, and Nathaniel is a natural with decorations. So, the five teens rotate with taking care of the bakery. Since Hawkmoth is defeated, the only villain left is actually White Peacock- Who is actually... Idk, Adrien? So they fight his sentimonsters.
- Mari and Nath create the superhero team cookies, which actually becomes really popular. Nath nearly cries when a kid comes running in for Monarch cookies. The kids normally want either the LB ones or the V ones, or the BBB or RK, or Minuit’s. It’s the first time someone wants a Monarch one and he breaks down into tears in the middle of the bakery.
- One night, when Mari is busy baking tomorrow’s goods, Minuit drops by her balcony, and when he can’t find her, he breaks into her house. (Way to go, Damian)
- (So Damian has been in Paris for approximately 3/4 of a year and in the duration Jon has joined him, and he’s made friends with a senior named Felix Culpa and his very pipey girlfriend Bridgette.)
- He finally finds her in the bakery and he scares her, so she hits him in the face with a rolling pin.
- It hurts, of course, and Mari can’t stop apologizing, but then Minuit decides that he wants to learn baking, too.
- And so he does.
- Cue fluffy scene where Mari teaches Minuit how to bake cookies, and he just stops functioning when Mari hands him a Minuit cookie because it’s just too perfect and he can’t eat it.
---
Should I do a part two? Also you can request me to do any fluffs/AUs/HCs in the above AU. Any ideas for what to name it? Message me if any errors spotted, I was too lazy to proof read...

The Agreste Letters, Ch. 14
The Agreste Letters Archive
*
"I, uh." Chat swallowed, sucking in his lips with wide eyes. "Wow."
Ladybug giggled. "Yeah," she said, her fingers going slack around his bell. "I—wow."
"You, uh," Chat said, glancing down at her lips, his face reddening. "Youtastelikepassionfruit."
Ladybug froze, trying not to swallow her tongue. "It was... for you?" she squeaked.
"For me?" he squeaked back, his eyes widening against the steadily pinking skin of his face.
It was at that moment that Rena Rouge began screaming.
Ladybug and Chat Noir flinched as the sound shocked them back out of each other's eyes and into the alleyway next to the bakery. Oh right, Ladybug thought. Audience.
Carapace threw his hands over his ears, stumbling into the brick wall. "Babe!" he shrieked. "The hell!"
Rena spun on her toes, her hair and fox ears bouncing, leaped onto her boyfriend, and began violently shaking him. "IT'S HAPPENING!" she screamed, bouncing on the tips of her paws. "LADYBUG AND CHAT NOIR ARE KISSING AND LADYBUG IS MY BEST FRIEND AND BABE IT'S HAPPENING!"
Ladybug felt leather slide against spandex as her partner dropped into a protective animalistic crouch. Pressing down on his cat ears. "Too loud!" he hissed. "Sensitive!"
Oh, right. Enhanced hearing.
Ladybug turned to Rena and cleared her throat. "Rena!" she said.
Rena's head snapped around towards her, her face still alight with manic energy.
Ladybug pointed at the ground. "Sit!"
Immediately, Rena released Carapace's shoulders and dropped onto crossed legs like an excited puppy—then her face clouded with confusion as she looked around at the cobbled ground. "What—why did I just...?"
Ladybug offered a hand to her partner, who gratefully pulled his hands from his ears. "Foxes are canines," she said. She pulled Chat up towards her. "You okay?" she said.
He nodded. "We should check on your mom," he said, nodding toward the bakery side door.
Ladybug's heart squeezed as her head came crashing back down, remembering how her mother's back had twisted all the way around. The sickening crunch of Mayura's foot on bone.
Behind her, she hurt Rena stumble to her feet. "Don’t you dare try it, Cara!" the fox shrieked. "Mom's a Carribean Chef! She taught me to make turtle soup!”
Ladybug had known Nino all her life. Even though he was behind her, she could practically see Carapace's mischievous grin immediately morph into a pout as his mouth snapped closed.
Ladybug swallowed, rolled her eyes. "Yeah," she said. "Let's—head in. Everyone else seems fine."
"I am not fine!" Rena yelled.
"Sit!" Carapace said, a smirk in his voice.
The sound of leather striking cobblestone. "Dammit!"
Ladybug pushed past Chat, reached for the bakery door with shaking hands. She knew that, with the Cure, her mother was fine... but she couldn't shake the image of her mother, twisted at the waist, her spine all the way around.
She twisted the handle and stepped inside. "H-hello?" she called. "Ma—" She caught herself mid-word. "—dame Cheng?"
Chat's claw slipped into her hand, squeezing, reminding. I'm here. You're okay. Everything's all right.
Ladybug's heartbeat calmed at his touch. No matter what happened, Chat would be there for her. The two of them against the world.
"Ladybug?" her mother's voice said.
Ladybug's heart leaped at the sound, and before she knew it, she was dashing the last few steps into the bakery, vaulting over the newly-restored bakery counter.
Her parents were standing in the middle of the shop floor, her father bent over, carefully supporting his wife with his massive hands. Sabine smiled. "You made it!" she said. She took a single, gingerly step, reaching out a hand. (Her husband immediately rushed his hands to catch her, and was immediately locked in place by a death glare from his tiny wife.)
Ladybug barely suppressed a sob as her shoulders went slack. That's my Maman, all right. She stepped forward, but then halted—barely remembered not to fall into her mother's arms.
Tom's eyes were only on his wife, but Sabine—Sabine's eyes widened at Ladybug's hesitance. "Oh no," she breathed. "Is—is my daughter all right? I heard... screaming."
Oh. Her mother—she thought Ladybug's hesitance was because something had happened to Marinette. Ladybug opened her mouth, ready to reassure her, before suddenly realizing: she had no response prepared. Her eyes flicked to Chat.
His slitted greens met hers, and immediately, he was all smiles, his body language shifting into "relaxed" in a way that she should've known could only come from someone used to a camera. "She's fine," he said, his voice calm, steady, reassuring. "I took her upstairs." He nodded back, toward the stairwell she'd just left. "She needed some rest."
Tom's eyes narrowed. "And... the screaming?"
Chat smile went crooked, mischievous. "Rena Rouge saw a chicken," he said.
There was a moment where Ladybug's brain tried to catch up with Chat's mouth. By then it was too late to save her dignity—she was already sputtering. She slapped her hand over her mouth, trying to hold in her laugh as she collapsed against her partner.
Her parents turned to each other, suspicious and confused, but then Chat's ring began to beep.
Ladybug bit down on the insides of her lips, trying to hold in her smile. "New power still has the timer?"
He glanced down at his ring, then at her. "Looks like," he said.
Ladybug unslung her yo-yo from her waist. "Madame Cheng, Monsieur Dupain," she said, nodding to both of them. "We should go."
They were barely out the door before Chat was ushering her upwards, looking toward the roof, her balcony. "Go, go," he whispered.
Ladybug pitched her yo-yo over the chimneys and was gone.
Marinette barely slipped back into bed before her parents came charging up through the trapdoor into her room. The wooden flap burst open, Sabine bursting through in a blur of white silk as she dashed across the carpet and straight up the ladder, launching herself onto her daughter.
"Maman! I'm fine!" Marinette protested, attempting to squirm out of her mother's tight hug.
"You fought—" Sabine said, peppering her daughter's face with kisses between words, "—five Miraculous—wielders at once." She squished her daughter's cheeks between her palms. "Your father and I were so worried about you!"
Of course, Marinette had only fought one, and the other four had been either her or her backup, but she wasn't going to say that anytime soon.
The bed squeaked as Tom climbed up the ladder onto it. "It's true," he said, scooping both his giggling wife and his squealing, embarrassed daughter up in his massive arms. He pressed a kiss into Marinette's forehead, then another. "When the news reached us that you'd broken into that boy's mansion, your mother marched out of her with the peel in her hand, ready to fight Hawkmoth all on her own."
Marinette turned to her mother, incredulously. "Maman?"
Sabine chuckled, stroking her daughter's hair. "If Ladybug hadn't shown up, I was going to drag you home myself."
Marinette
"I got Akumatized twice today," she said. "I'm feeling really tired, can I...?"
"Of course, pumpkin," her father said, tilting her head up and pressing his lips to her forehead. "Come get us if you need anything."
"Of course, Papa," she murmured.
"Good night, sweetie," he said. "Love you."
"We love you very much," Sabine added, kissing her forehead. "And we're very proud of you."
Her parents left her room carefully, slowly, glancing back at her every few feet as if to check to make sure she hadn't evaporated. She smiled at them, reassuring them as best she could.
The trapdoor closed, and she looked up at the skylight. "Come on in, guys."
The glass creaked, and a shadow slipped in topped in blond, gently padding onto her bed like his namesake. "H-hey, Princess," he said, his voice breaking.
Marinette blinked. "Are you..." She reached forward, taking his cheeks in her hands. "Kitty, are you okay?"
Orange and green followed him down, and then there were four on the bed. "Dude," Carapace said. "I've never seen you cry before."
"Yeah you have," Chat murmured, pressing his face into Marinette's shoulder.
Rena met Marinette's eyes. "He wasn't doing great when your mom said she was gonna fight Hawkmoth," she said. "But when they said they were proud of you..."
"Oh," Marinette said, turning to her partner, rubbing her hand through his hair. "Oh, Chaton."
Green sparks flew as his transformation released, leather turning to soft cotton as he collapsed further into her chest, sobbing.
"Adrien?" Marinette said.
Adrien met her eyes with his own, wet and heavy. "I... I called her..." He breathed in, his lip trembling, and she could see the devastation in his eyes, worse even than when he'd showed her the letter from his father. "I called her Mom."

She’s Shady and Sketchy...(2)
I’m back. I really want to thank everyone for the feedback I received for part 1 of SSaS. The amount of notes I got was phenomenal, I almost couldn't believe it. Really, thank you everyone.
Now, about part 2 - the typos during the group chat portion are as intended, because it’s not a group chat if no one’s screwing up what they're saying. I know they're supposed to speak French so, the formatting of their words are different, but I'm referencing the use of English in - you all get the point, right? Je ne parle pas français; I’ve only finished the elementary course. I tried to make it look authentic, but we’ll see. Also, a shout-out to @writingishfanonsideblog for pointing out the pun (you have no idea how long I was waiting for someone to see that).
PART 2:...when she goes on and raves
In a room above the Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie
Marinette is severely stressed. At the moment, she is reminding herself that she needs a break from everything – being Ladybug and the new Guardian, keeping up with her commissions, helping out at the bakery, being the class representative, etc. Clearly, it was somewhat working as Adrien could see from his position. He watches the girl lying down on his lap as he treads his fingers through her soft, dark hair. Her eyes are closed in content (kind of), the lines on her forehead slowly melting away. He smiles lopsidedly as he notices her cute nose crinkle and wiggle every few seconds, her lips in a pout as her mind continues to spew thoughts and ideas inside her mind. He reaches out a finger to boop her nose and says, “Hey, I can hear you thinking. You’re supposed to relax.”
Marinette opens her eyes, her brows even more furrowed. “And I told you that I can’t help it.” She tries to swat his hand that hovers over her face. Adrien laughs as he avoids her hand, returning to combing through her hair. She closes her eyes again and tries to go back to her halfway-decent relaxed state that Adrien so often made fun of her for. Oh, did she mention they’ve gotten closer?
To her amazement, Adrien had finally understood the extent of what Lila was doing. It was quite awkward at first, what with how Marinette was struggling to keep her composure in front of the same person she had fallen in love with beyond his looks. Adrien, on the other hand, was starting to realize that Marinette is someone so precious to him that he would do anything to help her, even if it meant he had to grow a backbone or two. It was working, thankfully, and had not backlashed on him. He had started to be less lenient with Lila’s inappropriate approach and invasion of his personal space, to which he made sure to mention to his father. For once, he felt that he was his father’s son because the day after his confession, he had found himself free of Lila’s grasp (literally and metaphorically). She was still modeling for the brand, though (to the disappointment of him and the many staff who found her performance lacking).
That did not mean the same for Marinette, though. He may have finally stood up to Lila, but Marinette was taking the brunt of her anger. Just recently, his friend told him how Lila was being more aggressive in her approaches, to the point where most of the class were starting to treat Marinette at arm’s length. They could clearly see that the class was taking sides, and it wasn’t theirs. Alya and Nino had been at the forefront of convincing him to talk sense into Marinette and giving Lila a chance. For some reason, they forgot how uncomfortable and mortified he felt whenever the latter came close to him without his permission. They weren’t that close, let alone friends. They were working the same job, at most. Physical contact was definitely not acceptable when he says so.
THE GOOD KIDS (11)
It’syagirlALYA: Hey, Lila. good to hear you’re doing fine, girl!
DeLila: I just don’t want to worry everyone.
It’syagirlALYA: It’s okay, don’t worry about it.
rose-pink: that’s right, Lila!
DeLila: anyway, about what I said…
I just really think that marinette needs to be…
Controlled.
jabberwocky: controlled? She’s not an animal.
sea-monkey: yeah, it kinda sounds…
haarhs
hars
harsh
DeLila: Oh, I didn’t mean it like that. Im just saying she needs to be stopped.
She needs to know what it feels like to be bullied.
brainf.Art: Hey, I think destroying her sketchbook is too much. I wouldn’t do the
same if another person, especially an artist, was being mean to me.
Jules: Nath’s right. If Marinette’s gone that bad, we shouldn’t stoop so low.
rose-pink: We’d be the bullies!
jabberwocky: besides, she already knows what it feels like to be bullied.
Remember chloé?
DeLila: Oh, Im not saying we bully her. Just, I dunno, give her a warning?
It’syagirlALYA: How bout this, lila: we try to keep you 2 apart as much as
possible.
DeLila: But…what if it doesn’t work? Or I just approach her again to really try be
friends with her?
It’syagirlALYA: Look, girl – we’ve known Mari for a long time. Well, more so the
others, but yo get the point.
kneeknow: what Alya means is that you let us handle it for oyu.
sunflower: that way, no one fights anyone.
DeLila: Oh, that’s a nice idea.
sun: Yeah, it is.
DeLila: Anyway, I was wondering if one of you could help me with our math
homework? I was just os distracted thinking about the charity Ive been
doing with Prince Ali on Tuesday that I wanst able to concentrate.
Maximus: I believe I can be of assistance.
DeLila: Thanks, Max! do you think you could send me a copy? It’s just, my mom
wants me to attend some very important meetings so, I won’t really have
much time.
Maximus: Oh. I suppose so, yes.
DeLila: Great!
It’syagirlALYA: Maybe you should take a break now.
sea-monkey: Sleeep.
Jules: Rest.
DeLila: Um, why?
Am I bothering all of you now?
rose-pink: No!
sunflower: it’s just, you said your head was hurting a while ago and we don’t
want to make it come back
rose-pink: or wrse!
worse.
sun: yeah
DeLila: Oh! Right.
I’ll see everyone tomorrow, then?
It’syagirlALYA: Sure.
kneeknow: Yeah.
DeLila: Bye, everyone!
jabberwocky: Yup, bye.
sea-monkey: See ya.
brainf.Art: bey.
bye.
sunflower: bye!
sun: bye.
Jules: yeah, bye.
rose-pink: bye-bye!
Maximus: Good-bye.
HOLD THE EFF UP (10)
It’syagirlALYA: I just had a realization.
Lila kept claiming she’s Ladybug’s bff, but that kinda sounds iffy
kneeknow: what makes you sya that, Als?
It’syagirlALYA: I never relly got a chance to ask LB herself but…
why would someone like lila deliberately tell me, the
LABYBLOGGER
That she’s Paris’s superheroine’s bff, knowing that Hawkmoth
could easily use her against LB?!
jabberwocky: holy sh*t, youre right!
sea-monkey: I may not be the smartest, but even I know that’s dumb.
rose-pink: which means Lila is inn danger!
Maximus: as seen during Animan hunting you down.
Sea-monkey: MAX!
It wasn’t my best moment, okay?
sunflower: and her family!
Jules: she’s not in danger…
brainf.Art: Juleka!
Jules: let me finish: she’s not in danger, she put herself in danger.
sun: does that mean lila’s not really friends with ladybug?
It’syagirlALYA: guess I’ll have to hunt down LB if we want to find out ourselves.
brainf.Art: what if ladybug deflecting about it is just a tactic to protect her?
Jules: I’ll do you one better: why didn’t lila know better than telling other people
something tha could be passed on to HM
No offence, Alya.
It’syagirlALYA: none taken.
kneeknow: Juleka’s right. It’s one thing when LB pretends she doesn’t know
someone for safety reasons. It’s another when you don’t know who
could possibly be listening or watching the interview and they plan
to do with it.
sun: wasn’t there something on the news about someone claiming to be Chat’s
girlfriend who ended up being kidnapped by an akuma as bait?
sea-monkey: ooh! I remememember that!
Maximus: She was heavily reprimanded by Ladybug and Chat Noir, not to
mention her parents for endangering herself.
jabberwocky: hey Alya, weren’t there somepoeple who tried to call her out on
the interview?
It’syagirlALYA: who? The girl ivan was talking about?
jabberwocky: No.
I mean Lila.
Maximus: Alix is correct. I seem to recall about 27% of your comment section
filled with doubts and proclamations of disbelief.
It’syagirlALYA: I think this calls for another meeting. But this time, for different
reasons.
Come tomorrow morning, 10 people in class had a wary look in their eyes. Lila had yet to arrive, but asides from them, Chloé and Sabrina were already seated and talking about whatever it was that had them busy yesterday. Along the front rows, Marinette is seen to be chatting excitedly with Adrien. Now that they think about it, they hadn’t realized when exactly those two got comfortable and closer together (particularly Marinette). After all, it wasn’t much of a secret except for Adrien that the girl had a huge crush on the model. Alya and Nino, mostly, were very confused on how they missed the development on the interaction between their best friends. But before any of them could comment on the newly discovered development, the real person who had been running on their minds had finally arrived.
“Hi, everyone! It’s so good to see you all this wonderful morning.” They never really thought much about it, but Lila always did have this overly sweet tone. It was different compared to Rose’s own way of talking. “I’m glad to announce that nothing too bad came off from my head injury, but I want to also let you know that I got…”
Huh. Not that they didn’t care about the well-being of others, but Lila always did have a way of putting a lot of attention on her. But really, for how long and how much she’d told them, it was too hard to ignore that she always did talk about herself.
“…I could also introduce you guys to…”
Introductions. Hm… well, that was one word they were well acquainted with. There wasn’t one a time they hadn’t heard Lila mention someone new and promise introducing them. it wasn’t that they were using her for her ‘connections,’ but she could at least try to avoid making promises she would suddenly forget about.
Their eyes narrow down on her, following her every move while she is none the wiser of the sudden change of how they see her. Things hadn’t been easy after the short meeting among those in attendance. Doubt had been planted among their minds and initially, none of them knew whether to weed it out or to water it with curiosity. Lila, thinking she has their trust still, goes on and raves of the many things she’s supposedly done.
Lila approaches the one person she knows is her greatest ‘fan,’ Alya, and proceeds to shower her with the many tales she had spun that involved name droppings and not-so-subtle self-praise. She goes on, thinking that all is well, but the others are actually more inclined to observe the same person they once believed at the drop of her hat. They are listening to her words carefully, only this time with more awareness.

My One And Only - Chapter 13
Previous | Next | Master List
So this chapter is probably as long as the first, maybe just a word or two longer idk idk. This story here has nearly caught up where I am right now so the updates will be less frequen, I’m also starting school again so yeah. The one-shot that I’m writing is nearly at 10k words and it’s not even that good-
"God, you really are an Angel". The blush on her face was very noticeable. She smiled at him before using her yo-yo to bring her to the akumatized victim. He watched as her silhouette jumped from rooftop to rooftop. Once she was out of sight, Damian looked back at the sunset. He chuckled to himself. "I guess when you bumped into me the other day, you gave me some of your Lady Luck".
———————————————————
"Wait wait wait, take two steps back." Chloe put both her hands up in confusion. "So you went to Andre's and what were the flavors that she got?"
"She got dark honey, lime and rose" Kagami answered.
"But he never explained the meaning behind them, which he always does" Alya added. Alya, Chloe and Kagami were in the blonde's room talking about the ice cream 'date' they went on with Marinette the other day.
"That reminds me, Alya?" Kagami asked. "Do you still think the ice cream represents Chat Noir?"
Chloe just blinked in surprise. "No, I met the guy recently" Alya replied. "He's perfect for her. Actually I should text him to see how Mari's doing" Alya took her phone out as Kagami nodded slowly. Chloe still looked like she was trying to wrap her head around the whole situation.
"So Mare-Bare has a crush on this 'foreign exchange student' and Alya met him the other day?" Kagami nodded, slightly amused at the blonde's confusion. "Do you think he likes her back?" Her question was both directed at Kagami and Alya who was still on her phone.
"Yeah I'm sure he does- wait he sent something" Alya let out a squeal of fangirlism as Chloe and Kagami went over to see what Alya was gushing over. Once the two girls came over, The reporter showed them a photo that got sent to her. It was Marinette, sound asleep on what Kagami and Chloe thought was the boy's chest. She was smiling and looked at peace.
"They look adorable~" Chloe cooed, having the same bright smile as Alya.
"He better not hurt Mari-hime" Kagami muttered, a soft smile appearing on her face as she looked at the photo.
~~~
"Pound it!"
Ladybug and Chat Noir managed to defeat the villain, it was Sandboy again. He was at a sleepover and some of his friends told a scary story, and the rest was common knowledge. Ladybug was about to yo-yo out of there but Chat Noir stopped her before she could do so.
"Ladybug, wait"
'This can't be good, he barely ever sounds this serious' She wrapped the yo-yo back around her waist before answer. "Kitty, is something wrong?"
"Well-" he was cut-off by the sound of his miraculous beeping.
"We can talk about this next time, ok?". After he hesitantly nodded, Ladybug got her yo-yo. "Bug out!"
She landed in an alley near Le Grand Paris and de-transformed. Marinette then took the opportunity to process what happened. 'Lila said something bad, I got upset, I went to Damian's, He took me on a walk, We kissed, He asked me to be his girlfriend, I showed him I was Ladybug, I-' her train of thoughts stoppped. "Oh my god, I told him I was Ladybug" she breathed. Her kwami then flew in front of her face. "OhmygodohmygodiamsososososorryTikkiididn'tmean-"
"It's perfectly fine Marinette!" The bluenette was was cut off by Tikki's giggling. "There's something about that lover of yours, I can't quite place it but I know we can trust him"
Marinette blushed at Tikki's words but nodded. "Y-yeah, thanks Tikki".
The bluenette soon reached the hotel door that was all too familiar to her now, her face reddened slightly at the thought. She still let herself in though, making sure to lock the door behind her. When she had closed the door, she noticed her demon reading on the sofa, he put his book down as he noticed Marinette walk in. She walked over and stood behind the sofa, looking down on Damian as because she was standing, she was taller. He looked up and smirked at her.
"You know," her boyfriend began. "I had high suspicions of you being Ladybug, though, I couldn't be certain."
"How come your suspicions were so high?" Marinette asked, still smiling.
"Well when you're a vigilante yourself, I suppose it can be easier to pin point others' secret identities"
She smiled while rolling her eyes and kissed his forehead. She seemed tired and Damian made a mental note to tell her again later when she was more energized. Marinette then went to sit in the sofa and snuggle into Damian's muscular chest.
"Don't you have questions?" She murmured, she was too comfortable to move her head up.
"I do but they can wait" Damian stroked his fingers through his angel's hair. 'My Angel...' "You're tired"
"I'm not-" her yawn contradicted the words that were about to leave her lips and she grumbled in annoyance while Damian chuckled. "If I do sleep wake me up before 9, Maman and Papa are going to the airport and I want to say goodbye"
Damian remembered that Marinette's parents would be going to Marseille for around a week, they were going to open up a second location there as they had become well known in that part of the country. "Alright" he softly answered, he assumed that Marinette had fallen asleep already and his assumption was correct when he felt her slow and steady breathing. At that moment he got a message on his phone, a message from Alya. She was asking about Marinette's current predicament and Damian sent a picture of Marinette sleeping soundly, a smile on her face. He wasn't purposely trying to stay out of the frame but he wasn't in it either way.
Me: She's doing much better than earlier today, it would be best if Marinette would be the one to address what was wrong
Césaire: Oh ok, I'm glad she's feeling better
Césaire: u 2 look adorable af tho
If he blushed at that comment, no one would know. Damian put his phone down to look at his sleeping Angel. He smiled to himself and picked the bluenette up bridal style. He brought her to his bed and tucked her in to let her sleep, not before planting a kiss on her forehead, though. Damian focused his vision on the digital clock on the nightstand. '7:47 I'll let Marinette sleep until 9' His thoughts were interrupted by a small, squeaky voice.
"Damian"
His head quickly turned in the direction of the voice. 'I swear I didn't hear anyone else enter-' Damian had to blink twice. In front of him was a small, red, bug-like creature. 'What the fu-'
"Damian my name is Tikki, I am Marinette's kwami" she held her tiny arm out and Damian hastily lifted on of his finger's for the kwami to shake, he didn't know what else to do if he was being honest. "I understand that you have questions so you may ask some now, though, I understand if there are some you would like to ask her personally"
He nodded. "What....what is a kwami?" He asked hesitantly, not wanting to offend the kwami and still trying to get a hold of this new information.
"A kwami is, I guess, a miniature god that lives inside of a miraculous. The kwami is what gives the user's miraculous their powers as well as their hero costume. A miraculous is a piece of jewelry that grants the user powers. Marinette's miraculous is the Miraculous of the Laadybug, the earrings. They give her the power of Creation and Good luck" Damian nodded slowly, now back sitting on the couch. "Marinette in trusted you with her secret identity, I sense that I can trust you as well but I want to you to promise to keep her identity a secret, unless she says otherwise"
"Don't worry I will, I of all people should know the importance of keeping a secret identity a secret"
"You're a superhero?" Tikki questioned, not hearing what Damian told Marinette earlier
"Vigilante" he corrected.
"I guess that's why you have a trusting aura" Tikki pondered. "Thank you Damian, for making Marinette so happy"
"Anything to make her smile"
~~~
"Habibti, it's time to wake up" Damian gently shook Marinette's shoulder.
".......nnwhy" Marinette buried her face further into the pillow.
"You said you wanted to see your parents go to the airport, correct?"
"Oh right!" She jumped out of bed, any signs of tiredness was now gone. Damian chuckled slightly and moved towards her, he brought the ribbon he had taken earlier and put her hair back up in a ponytail. "Thanks!" She exclaimed after looking in the mirror. "I know I said I would explain everything but can I do that after we say goodbye to my parents?"
"Of course Angel"
She smiled brightly and the two walked out of the hotel to her parents' bakery, their arms linked together. As they arrived, they noticed two figures with bags and a taxi with it's boot open.
"Maman, Papa we came to say goodbye" Marinette walked over to her parents with Damian by her side, tilting her head slightly in confusion as they both smiled smugly at the couple.
"You came earlier than we thought you would Marinette and hello again...Damian is it?" Marinette's mother asked.
"Yes it is, it's a pleasure to meet you Mr Dupain, Mrs Cheng"
"No need for formalities son, Tom and Sabine" Tom said, giving Damian a bone-crushing hug.
"Papa!"
"Tom, dear, we don't want to suffocate the poor boy"
"Oh right!" Tom then put Damian down. "Is it safe to say that I assume you are Marinette's boyfriend?" The man asked, looking very joyfully at the blushing couple.
"Y-yeah" Damian murmured while Marinette nodded and both parents shot them big smiles.
"We were debating when that was going to happen" Sabine admitted with a shrug.
"Maman!"
"Oh would you look at the time, we better get going" Sabine smiled smugly, ignoring her daughter's protest. Both her and Tom engulfed Marinette in a hug and beckoned Damian to join in.
"Bye Maman, Bye Papa!"
"Goodbye Sabine, Goodbye Tom"
The couple watched the taxi leave for the airport, they stood in comfortable silence.
"So should I explain everything now? I can sleep over at your place if you want all the details" Marinette asked, blushing slightly at what she just said.
Damian realised that she was referring to sleeping over in his hotel room, honestly, he didn't mind. "If you want to"
"Great! Wait here I'll get my things"
~~~
"...and you're Multimouse too?" Damian continued after Marinette nodded. "Wow, that is...a considerable amount of information. And you called Tikki a 'bug-mouse'?" He chuckled amused at the flushed face his girlfriend now had.
"It was one time! The first time I saw her! Do you think I would have acted any differently?" She pouted and Damian took the opportunity to kiss her. He then got up to look at the time, smirking as he noticed the flushed bluenette in his peripheral vision. "Also, how did you work out that I was Ladybug?"
"For starters, I researched her- well, you and I couldn't help but notice how similar you two were, in build and personality. From there I just connected the dots"
"Huh, usually there's magic that prevents others from noticing things like that but it didn't work on you for some odd reason. That's- wait" she paused and blinked and then looked straight in Damian's eyes. Before he could voice out his confusion, she spoke again. "Did- did you just...make a pun?"
His forest green eyes widened "...no"
She laughed for a good while, especially when seeing the look on Damian's face. After she composed herself, she changed the subject. "Now it's your turn to explain, Shaytan"
"Hm alright, are you familiar with the vigilantes in Gotham?" He asked.
"The Bat-family? Are you one of Batman's comrades?" Marinette looked up at her boyfriend, wide-eyed with fascination like a child's. Damian couldn't help but melt at her expression.
"Yes and yes, my vigilante persona is known as-" he was about to tell her that he was Robin before she cut him off.
"Wait can I take a guess" Damian gestured her to do so. "Hmmmm considering your age, my options are narrowed down to one of the Batboys. Looking at your build I'd say that you are..Robin!" She said his name with great certainty.
He clapped while smiling. "You are correct, yet again"
"I'm surprised though, you don't seem like the type to be a traffic light" she teased.
"Tt, stop rubbing more salt in the wound" he groaned.
Marinette giggled. "So your brothers are the other Robins and your father is Batman, I presume?" Damian nodded. "Wow...who knew that two heroes from different places would fall in love?"
"I suppose I did" He looked at the clock again, it was 11:58. "It's getting late"
Marinette followed his vision to the clock. "Huh, I didn't even realise that the time flew by so quickly" she then got up to rearrange some of the pillows on the couch.
"What are you doing?" He asked, confused.
The bluenette looked at him, also confused. "I'm sleeping on the couch, right?"
"You can sleep on the bed, you are the guest after all. I can sleep on the couch"
"No, couldn't possibly! It's your room!"
The bickering went back and forth between the two while Tikki watched in amusement. 'If Plagg were here, he'd only add more fuel to the fire'. Most could argue that the relationship between the couple was moving too quickly but Tikki knew otherwise. The magic of the miraculous was at work. Only the true holders of the Ladybug miraculous and the miraculous of the Black Cat would be affected. That isn't always the case though, they would only be attracted to one another if the feelings they had were romantic and mutual. To most, it would appear that they were moving too quickly. But for the kwami, it was just a sign that the two true holders were found, and they were found together. 'I do have to tell Plagg, though'. Then the small kwami got an idea. "Why don't you both just sleep on the bed?"
The two then turned to Tikki, both faces were red but Marinette's shone through the most. The small kwami merely had an innocent smile on her face.
"...I-I guess that's manageable" Damian murmured.
"O-ok" Marinette mumbled, clearly too flushed for her own good.
~~~
"Alright Mari-bear, spill the beans"
Marinette had breakfast at Damian's before going home to change, she had to meet Jagged and Penny again to record and to discuss the name of the song because, for whatever reason, they hadn't done that yet. After, she promised that she would hang out with Alya, Chloe and Kagami in the blonde's room but she didn't expect to be interrogated. She briefly sugar-coated what Lie-la did and said, luckily her friends took the hint that she didn't want to talk about it. She also gained a new nickname, or a variant of one. Marinette noticed how Chloe interchangeably used 'Mare-Bare' and 'Mari-Bear' but they were more or less the same thing.
"Wha-" They all gave made a knowing face, the 'you know what I mean' face. She let out a defeated sigh. "S-so um...yesterday he asked me to be his girlfriend". The bluenette prepared herself for whatever was going to happen next, what followed was an ungodly amount of fangirl squeals. Even Kagami seemed to let one out.
"You said yes, right?" Kagami asked with a joyful tone. Marinette nodded. "So what's his full name?"
Marinette took a deep breath. "Queenie, do you keep track of who is staying in the hotel?"
"I guess" The blonde replied, glancing at her nails. "Why'd you ask?"
"Well, he's staying in room 301"
"Hm...that's one of the expensive rooms so that means-" Chloe let out a gasp of realisation. "No fucking way! How-" she then bursted out laughing, Marinette giggled as well.
"You lost me" Kagami looked between the two while Alya just shrugged her shoulders.
"Mari, Damian Wayne is your boyfriend? How you managed to thaw the Ice prince of Gotham's heart I will never know, only you Dupain-Cheng" Chloe, now recovering from laughing, was now looking at Marinette with admiration and interest.
"Wait, THE Damian Wayne?!" Alya gaped at Marinette.
"Y-yeah" The bluenette stammered and tried to hide her blush with her hands
"What's he like?"
"Is he as cold as they all say?"
"Does he treat you right?"
Marinette was bombarded with many questions regarding Damian. She struggled to keep up with each and every one of them. 'Is this what it feels like to be inundated by paparazzi?' She thought teasingly.
~~~
It was around noon. A spotted heroine jumped from roof top to roof top. She had just finished her patrol and was headed towards the Eiffel Tower, Chat Noir wanted to talk to her about something. He seemed serious too. Ladybug was slightly concerned for her friend, seeing Chat Noir act serious was a very rare sight. She voiced her concerns to Damian before she went out on patrol.
"You said he values your friendship, correct? In that case he probably wants to shelter you from whatever information he stumbled upon"
Marinette jokingly scoffed. "I'm not a damsel in need of protection thank you very much"
Damian smiled and hugged Marinette from behind while resting his chin on her head. "I know Angel, I know. That won't stop me from protecting you though"
Ladybug used her yo-yo as a grappling hook and landed gracefully on the top floor of the Eiffel Tower. Not surprisingly, Chat Noir was already there, waiting for her.
"Kitty?" The spotted heroine asked after a short moment of silence. "Is everything okay?"
The cat-themed hero sat on the floor, Ladybug sat in front of him and after a big breath, he spoke. "Ladybug, I- I don't think I'm the true holder of the Black Cat miraculous"
Ladynoir July Day 11 - Comfort
@ladynoirjuly2020
read on ao3!
Ladybug could tell what face he would be wearing by the shape of his shoulders against the orange of the sky. She tried to land behind him as softly as possible, but his ears were already turned towards her even though they’d pushed themselves low against his hair.
“Hey, kitty,” she spoke softly, watching him stand up from where he was crouched at the edge of the roof. It was a beautiful view, but she doubted that he’d been thinking about anything else but //that.
Chat turned to face her, and she saw that her guess was right. His eyebrows were pressed down into hard lines, his lips were in a straight but deep frown, and he looked like he’d been crying. It felt like pieces of her heart were being ripped from her chest every time she saw him that way, but she knew that if he could feel any other emotion, he would.
The day they’d found out Hawkmoth’s identity was undoubtedly the worst day of Adrien’s life, and what made it worse was that they didn’t know how to stop him yet. They needed a plan, and a plan that would work needed time and focus.
But Marinette knew that planning wasn’t what Adrien needed at the moment. He needed time, but he also needed a friend.
Ladybug walked towards her partner, hugging him gently and not being surprised when he didn’t hug her back. She wished more than anything that she could take even a fraction of his hurt from him, but since she couldn’t, she chose to be there for him.
She’d invited him out that night to make sure that he was doing alright and because she knew that he was almost never at his house at night. She hoped to take his mind off everything even if it was only for a mere moment.
“Any trouble today?” she asked as she pulled away, seeing that his dull eyes were boring into her.
“No,” he almost whispered, his lips barely moving. She gave him a small smile, pressing a hand to his cheek tentatively.
“Thank you for coming,” she spoke, taking her hand away. Sometimes he hated being touched by anyone, but other times all he wanted was to be held. She could tell that in that moment it was the former, and she didn’t want to push his boundaries.
“Is there anything you wanna do?” she asked, stepping away and giving him his space. He looked up at her and furrowed his brow more, signalling that her question wasn’t a very thought one.
“Sorry, uh,” she said, glancing away to think. She’d been so worried about him that she’d forgotten to plan something.
“You choose, please,” he spoke quietly, and she eyed him, glad that she was able to hear his voice. He didn’t say too much anymore, but when he did, it was music to her ears even if it was angry, bitter words that came out.
“Okay,” she smiled, pursing her lips as she ran through a list of things that they could do. She thought of a joke about robbing a bank, but she knew it wouldn’t have any affect on him.
“Have you eaten today?” she wondered, seeing the shift in his eyes as he looked away and knowing that he hadn’t.
“Can we get something to eat?” she asked, tilting her head a little and giving him a sweet smile so as to try and reduce the chances of him refusing. He gave her a weak shrug, and she nodded, readying her yo-yo. Luckily, they weren’t too far from the bakery.
Before she moved to jump, she glanced back at him.
“Are you okay to follow?” She’d noticed him getting skinnier than he already was, and she didn’t want him to hurt himself. He let out an exasperated sigh, his eyes narrowing.
“You don’t have to baby me Marinette,” he said hoarsely. She blinked at him, knowing better than to be offended or put off. She wouldn’t have half the amount of emotional control as him if she were in his situation.
It surprised her when he sighed again, dropping his head a little.
“Sorry,” he breathed out, and she smiled, shaking her head when he lifted his eyes back to her.
“No worries, chaton,” she replied, moving for him to follow. She heard him trail behind her as she made her way to the bakery, seeing that it was nearly closing time. The sun had already set, the streetlamps flickering on as she dropped towards the ground.
Landing just in front of the door, she pulled it open and smiled to herself when Chat followed her in without hesitation. She remembered him telling her that he always felt at home there, and she hoped that he would feel that again.
“Ladybug?” Sabine asked in disbelief, holding her heart. Marinette smiled behind her mask, seeing her dad walk up to the register and place a hand on his wife’s shoulder.
“Hello,” Ladybug smiled, giving them a polite wave. “Sorry to come in just before closing time.” Sabine waved her off as Tom wiped his hands on his apron, beginning to walk towards Chat with a cookie in his hand.
“How are you doing, son?” he asked, clapping a hand on Chat’s shoulder and shaking him a little. His eyes went wide, but Ladybug tried not to watch him too closely.
“Fine, s-sir,” he answered, sounding a little more normal as her dad offered him the cookie and explained how it was fresh out of the oven. She smiled, walking over to Sabine.
“Can I get a few more of those cookies, some passionfruit macarons, and some chocolate croissants?” she asked, seeing Sabine flash a smile before slipping a plastic glove onto her hand.
“Sure, sweetheart,” she said warmly, and Ladybug giggled quietly to herself, loving to see her mom act so sweet.
As she waited for her pastries, she glanced back at her dad and Chat, seeing that Tom was handing her partner a small brown bag with the bakery’s logo on it. He said something under his breath to Chat, and she watched him glance at her briefly and then back at her dad. It was almost a shock to see a blush rise into his cheeks. She hadn’t seen that sight in what felt like years.
But when she watched his lips curl up into a small smile, she thought that maybe she was the smartest person in the world for thinking to bring Chat there. She felt her heart racing and wondered if there was anything she loved more than seeing him smile.
Sabine got her attention again, refusing to let her pay and sending her back over to Chat. Following closely behind, her mother leaned over and patted Chat’s cheek.
“Stop by anytime, honey. We’re always baking something, and we’re always happy to share,” she told him, and Ladybug watched some of the despair leave his eyes.
“Thank you,” he replied before the two of them left the bakery. Waving back to her parents, they jumped up onto the nearest roof with their treats, and Ladybug recognized it as the spot where Chat Noir had set up the candlelit dinner for her. Looking at her partner, she could tell that he knew the spot as well, but he didn’t meet her eyes.
“Thanks for coming in with me,” she said to break the silence, sitting herself down next to where he stood and watching him lower himself into the spot next to her. She busied herself with taking a chocolate chip cookie from her bag, moving to take a bite of it when she realized that Chat was holding the bag he’d been given towards her.
“What’s this?” she asked, taking it from him and looking up for an explanation. He watched her for a moment and then looked away, a familiar but rare glow appearing in his eyes.
“Mr. Dupain said that, uh,” he started, pausing to clear his throat and try again. “He said that you order one of those every time you stop by and that if I gave it to you, you’d fall in love with me,” he told her. She took a second to breathe in the color of his voice. She hadn’t heard him say that much in weeks, and to hear such sweet words with such a warm tone was almost enough to bring her to tears.
All she could do was laugh a little, opening the bag and seeing a single strawberry danish waiting for her. It was her second favorite pastry from her parent’s bakery, but she never ordered her true favorite for secret identity’s sake.
“Thank you,” she breathed out happily, looking up to another gift as he smiled down at her.
“Maybe it’s a good thing that he doesn’t know I already love you,” she chuckled, taking the treat out of the bag carefully. “Because these are really good.” She watched another blush move onto his cheeks, and she couldn’t help the smile that had been glued to hers.
“You know that, right?” she asked after she watched him look away from her. Their eyes met once more, and he looked slightly confused. “That I love you,” she clarified, tilting her head. He blinked at her quietly, taking in a deep breath before nodding and letting another smile shine through.
“I love you too,” he replied gently, making her heart throb against her ribs. She basked in his smile for as long as she could before looking away and breaking the danish in half. She offered it to him, and he took it, biting into it immediately.
They ate in comfortable silence, and when everything had been eaten, she realized that she probably could have gotten him some healthier food. She stared up at the moon and made a note in her head to take him some soup in the morning, but her thoughts were interrupted.
“Thank you,” he spoke unexpectedly, drawing her eyes to him. He was already looking at her, and she smiled. “For making me feel better.” She smiled more, nodding.
“That’s what I’m here for,” she told him, leaning close to him and pressing a gentle kiss to his cheek. She hoped that she hadn’t made him uncomfortable, but when he pulled away, she saw him smiling again and thought that maybe she really was extra lucky.
“Yeah,” he sighed, his smile coloring his voice in a bright tone. “And it works every time.” Her heart jumped at that, and she couldn’t help but let out a relieved laugh.
Everything would be okay.
