I find it so fucking cool that Sun-Spider went from being someone's spidersona that was submitted in a marvel contest to getting a speaking role in a multi million dollar film in only 3 years.

I think she’s super cool. Her design is so well made and I think she might also be on Miles side since she wasn’t mean to him when they met, even saying she was a huge fan of him.

Also she’s someone’s oc. And now she got her own comic and was in a big movie (with voice lines!). It just shows that all your ocs can in fact be canon in the spiderverse

Sun spider appreciation!!

I was so happy when I found out she had EDS. It made me feel less alone (especially considering that I got diagnosed the same summer the movie came out). I like that she's not a "tragic" depiction of EDS which is refreshing because the conversations surrounding EDS and living with EDS can sometimes feel hopeless. Hopefully we get to see more of her in the future.

Also having EDS is so strange like my skin is stretchy (cool party trick!), I'm hyperflexible and I dislocate. If there is a disability that is cool for a superhero I think this one is a solid choice 😎.

Best weekend, I got photos with my friend D’Manda, I met the most incredible Storm, this Rogue and I were geeking over each others cosplays, I got pics of a Sun-Spider and a Web-Slinger!! I just feel super good right now…

I have a theory regarding Spidersonas. Specifically after someone said that the desire of a spidersona is to replace Peter Parker, I found myself disagreeing with them, but wondering why. So I came up with a new theory. I believe that Spidersonas come not from the desire to replace, but rather the desire to help and to be a part of a community. We all see the tragedy that binds together the lives of Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and all of the others, and it strikes a chord. We say to ourselves “if I was there, this wouldn’t have happened. If only I was a spider-hero too, I would’ve helped them. I could’ve stopped this tragedy.” And then beyond that we find others who share the same desire, and a community is born. And so we dream and desire, not desiring to be the only Spider-Man, but to fight in a community alongside him. We dream of an army of spiders. A collective of wall crawlers so great that none of us will ever have to suffer tragedy ever again. Because the others will be there to lend a hand.
