🌟 A Cry for Help: My Family’s Struggle to Survive in Gaza 🌟

Hello, my name is Areej Kassab. I’m a 27-year-old English teacher and writer from Gaza, and I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for support. My family and I are enduring unimaginable hardships as relentless bombings devastate our home and our dreams.

We are a family of 15—10 adults and 5 children. Every day is a battle for survival. Food is scarce, humanitarian aid is not reaching us, and my little nieces and nephews go to bed hungry. Among them is my sister, who is deaf, and another sister who has a newborn baby. They, too, are suffering in this crisis, and I’m doing everything I can to protect and provide for them.

💔 A Life in Ruins The war has robbed us of everything: safety, peace, and even the hope of a future here. My family’s needs are basic yet critical—food, clean water, diapers for the babies, gas for cooking, and other essentials to make it through each day.

With rising prices and limited access to necessities, we are struggling to provide even the most basic items. My sister’s home has been destroyed, and we are working together to ensure everyone has shelter, food, and warmth.

✨ My Plea for Your Support ✨ I’m a writer, and I’ve been documenting the harsh realities faced by my community under siege. But words can only do so much. We need action, and we need help. Your kindness can save us.

the big sum-up of 2024...2024 has been a lot! mostly good, some really bad, but otherwise im happy to make it through another year :^] past summaries and some more detailed thoughts below:

so 2024's been a really busy year for me - my first full year as a freelancer! started boothing at the behest of one of my good friends in march, and it was really fun! its been so wonderful being able to share my work with people, especially my comics. im really grateful in a way i cant encapsulate for the support ive had both online and offline for my work, and i can only hope it shows in the final products!

i don't like to get particularly personal on my socmed anymore, but ill admit the later half of the year has been hard. i wont get into it (its nothing serious!) , but im hoping ill have a lot less breakdowns next year :'^] and more importantly I WANT TO KEEP CREATING!! i have a few comic ideas im hoping to pursue this year, some fan projects and more original things!! yeah. here's to 2025 baybee

HI EVERYONE!! big announcement - i’ll be boothing at THOUGHT BUBBLE FESTIVAL 2024!! ive been super excited about this. ill be having a lot of prints, some comics, n also my godzilla stickers are making a comeback. ill be spotty for a while due to travelling but if you’re gonna be there drop a hi! you can also ask me abt reserving stock if you really want something from my wares…or ask me about my comics. because i love to talk about those guys. finally finished the 44-page pilot comic for SEAsian queer horror story!! what if 3 friends had to stick around a haunted HDB to fix it before its demolition date. and they had a freaky lil spirit to deal with too...this isn't like 'hard' canon but it's close to the tone i want fr the final. i'll be debuting physical copies (FINGERS CROSSED) next weekend during thought bubble (i'll be boothing there at DSTLRY hall, table D12b!) along w/ like other comics / zines, prints n like a few stickers n such!! digital pdfs will be up probably early - mid next year :^]
