one fact about operation mincemeat that i am absolutely heartbroken they left out of the musical is the fact that charles cholmondeley wore bill's uniform for 3 months to wear it out. i'm really just picturing charlie walking onto stage in the uniform, all the characters immediately treating him like a new, really cool character before he speaks and characters and audience alike realise 'oh. that's just charlie. fine'.

#it's funnier in my head #but i think it'd be silly #it would make all the costume changes more difficult sure but what's an easy costume change in the face of 3 seconds of comedy #another real life fact that i wish they'd put in the musical #is that willie watkins was apparently at bill's autopsy #would love to see anything with that #again wouldn't work as well with the costumes #(the autopsy scene's costume are some of my favourite- love me some pastel signature colours #but god i want to see the battle between #sweaty englishman vs cocky american vs confused spanish #operation mincemeat #operation mincemeat musical #charlie #charles cholmondeley
