Rege Jean Page: he's born in 1988 but I had to include him as he deserved the same roles and opportunities as his co worker Jonathan Bailey. He still deserves a career outside of bridgerton

Caleb McLaughlin: It's very telling how he's not in a lot of other projects (major blockbusters) out of the rest of the young and mostly white cast in stranger things

Ncuti Gatwa (he deserves the same appreciation and opportunities David Tennant and Matt Smith got post Doctor Who)

I can already say without a shadow of a doubt that "First Note Of Love" will end up being one of my favourite BL's of the year.

This is an absolute gem of a series, wonderfully cast and sensitively dealing with the themes of grief, loss and the redemptive power of love and music.

I'm really going to miss sharing my Mondays with Neil, Sea, Reese and Orca 💕

Finally caught up on First note of love (Ep 1-7) and here are some of my thoughts -

The casting and costuming is so on point, except for Neil's wig - hope they burnt that aberration!! I know that it was supposed to indicate that the man was in a bad place, but still, they could've done better.😂

Initially, I was sceptical about Neil and Sea romantically, but I really like the way they are handling it. Neil's 'kiddo' and Sea calling Neil a 'has-been' - perfection.

I love how Orca was introduced and Reese's reaction upon seeing him was everything. I love nothing more than seeing a usually composed man flustered 😂. Reese is such a liar. Sir, why haven't you changed your code if you don't want Orca crashing at your place? Have I mentioned that he is learning Thai for no apparent reason???!!❤️

Inject this into my veins!!

Ofcourse, I'm interested in the romantic relationships, but the one that has me intrigued the most is the Neil-Orca dynamic. Neil was the one who introduced Orca to Matt and Reese, so we can assume that they were friends before. However, look where they are now and how they feel about each other.

Orca was spitting nothing but facts here. Could he have been a bit nicer about it? Sure, but his intentions were in the right place.

One can say that Neil is reacting like this because he is protective of Sea, but me thinks that there is something more going on here.

And we know that Orca feels jealous that Neil recieves Reese's attention, albiet platonic. Orca is a global superstar and Neil has a panic attack at the thought of performing on stage. So much to explore...

The conversation between Reese and Neil where Neil tells Reese that he's the only brother he has left, really destroyed me😭😭. Such an honest look at how they are still grieving Matt.

Neil has no chill, my man confessed his feelings to the person he likes and then told the office gossipmonger about it the next day. Doesn't have a subtle bone in his body. Definitely need more of Neil and Mei together, they have good chemistry.

I haven't even touched upon the parents in the series. There is more to learn about them, but from what I know till now, they need to repent for their parenting choices.

Lastly, all the songs are such absolute bangers. 'My heart's on fire' is stuck in my head.

Bonus - I felt bad for Reese, but this was hilarious 😂

hey bestie. i was wondering if you knew how court records were made. bc i know today we have shorthand keyboards for that purpose, so i figured they had to have some form of writing down what was said in court fast enough to get everything written down accurately. i was specifically thinking of the Lee trial, if that helps. thanks a bunch ily /p 🫶🫶

Pretty similarly to what we have today, although it was moreso usually three clerks who wrote everything down. In average colonial life, County Clerk's were established to assist in the operation of the county court. The clerk kept track of cases heard by the court, issued writs and warrants, and recorded documents that were required by law to be filed with the county court. County clerks were appointed by the governor for indefinite terms during the colonial period. And they were appointed by the county justices under the 1776 Constitution, after 1790, they were appointed by the county court judges for a term of good behavior.

But in the military - where there wasn't a professional court setting in place - proceedings were written by those who were assigned to. More about court martials here. Records like original proceedings can often be found in orderly books or journals. [x] Although oftentimes records could be copied and altered with bias, like the Varick transcription. Copied by Richard Varick, they were copies of papers created during the American Revolution in Washington's hold. And he could sometimes dramatize things. Especially surrounding Lee's court martial and conduct on the battlefield with several contrasting descriptions. As Lender and Stone write;

The transcript of the court-martial of Major General Charles Lee is the best single source of information on the Battle of Monmouth. Used carefully and coor-dinated with other contemporary sources, the court-martial record has allowed us to present a coherent account of the fi ghting on the morning of 28 June 1778. There are several versions of the transcript, however, each with some minor differences. We have used a pri-vately printed version—Proceedings of a Court-Martial . . . for the Trial of Major-General Lee—from 1864, a reprint of the original that appears complete in all respects and is readily available to scholars.

LU GUANG ON GROUND IS HE GONNA HIT ROCK BOTTOM?? (More than he has??) Also him reaching for Cheng Xiaoshi like he's trying to take him away, likely from whatever kills him.

Liu Xiao on top like the main villain he is, Vein in the center but under him (is he central to the plot despite being Liu Xiao's subordinate?) And Xia Fei on the side, under them both, minding his own business... HE'S JUST A LIL GUY😭😭
