big wisdom
Found out about chargeback scams today.
Some guy wanted to donate $2800 to my paypal!
I was skeptical so I aimed him at my GoFundMe instead.
GoFundMe has protections to prevent people from finding any kind of personal information about you, and has protections from chargeback scammers.
Which I only found out because after he demanded I send him either a Cash App or a PayPal link instead of a gofundme, I did some googling and found out that scammers will do the following:
They set their Cash App or PayPal primary form of payment to a stolen credit card
They send you all the money on the card
They change their Cash App or PayPal primary form of payment to their bank account
They wait 1-20 days
They do a charge-back and get a refund, pulling the money out of your account without warning
This is called a Chargeback Scam.
GoFundMe prevents this by only processing chargebacks to the payment info that the donation was made with, while Cash App and PayPal don't have that protection.
If someone wants to "Bless" your Cash App or PayPal with some random amount of money: That's the amount of money on the stolen credit card's checking account that they just stole.
Obviously nobody would say "No" to a random gigantic amount of money being donated to them no strings attached, right? That's how they getcha.
Be safe out there, everyone.

SCAMMER ALERT
EDIT: she took more, 200 from me now
For every tarot reader on here or people who sell services in general. @ recoveringinternetaddict is a scammer.
She has ordered a lot of my tarot readings over the last couple of months and has been charging back everything the last few days; over 180 200 euro's so far and will most likely continue to charge back even more. This has brought me in a lot of trouble financially as one might guess.
She keeps coming with many excuses but isn't really doing anything to solve this even though she claims it 'was an accident'. Yet it isn't an accident > she even told PayPal it wasn't an accident (PayPal said so / hinted this through customer service mails). She has been doing the same with @tarotwithavi as well, who has also been charged back a significant amount of money so far. Edit: we found a 3rd person she did this too; @starryfree.
We both have been fighting these chargebacks with all the proof we have, but because she has done the chargebacks through her card holder PayPal isn't able to do anything, and that company will need to look at everything. This will take at least 180 calenderdays full of stress and uncertainty.
She is even claiming that her bank is taking more of our money because we provide proof that the chargebacks are false.
Please spread this information by liking, reblogging or commenting so the news will be spread to as many people as possible.
I know I am asking for a lot, but if you ever thought of getting a reading from me, it would be very kind to order one now so I can get out of this financial loss as quickly as possible. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated as well.

Don’t Let Chargebacks Hurt Your Business: How to Handle Them Like a Pro!
Introduction: Chargeback
A chargeback is a transaction reversal initiated by a customer's bank or credit card issuer. It allows the customer to dispute a transaction and request a refund of the funds that were previously transferred to a merchant's account. Chargebacks are typically initiated when a customer believes that they have been charged for a product or service that they did not receive or when they are not satisfied with the product or service they received. Chargebacks can also be initiated in cases of fraudulent activity or unauthorized transactions. When a chargeback occurs, the merchant may be required to provide evidence to dispute the chargeback and retain the funds. If the merchant is unable to successfully dispute the chargeback, the funds are returned to the customer, and the merchant may be subject to additional fees and penalties.
Chargebacks can be a frustrating and costly experience for businesses. Not only can they result in the loss of revenue, but they can also harm your reputation and impact your ability to process payments in the future. However, chargebacks are not always avoidable, and it's essential to know how to handle them effectively when they do occur. Here are some tips on how to handle chargebacks from customers:
Understand the Reason for the Chargeback
The first step in handling a chargeback is to understand why it happened. There are many reasons why a customer might initiate a chargeback, such as unauthorized transactions, fraudulent activities, or dissatisfaction with the product or service. It's essential to identify the root cause of the chargeback to determine the best course of action.
Gather Evidence
Once you understand the reason for the chargeback, the next step is to gather evidence to dispute it. This might include customer receipts, shipping documents, or any other relevant documentation that supports your case. It's also a good idea to review your internal records to ensure that the chargeback is valid and not the result of an administrative error.
Respond Quickly
Chargebacks are time-sensitive, and there are specific deadlines that must be met to respond to them. It's essential to respond quickly to ensure that you have a chance to dispute the chargeback effectively. Most payment processors require that you respond within a specific timeframe, usually between 10 and 30 days.
Contact the Customer
If you have identified the reason for the chargeback and have gathered evidence to dispute it, the next step is to contact the customer directly. This can be an opportunity to resolve the issue and avoid further chargebacks. Be polite and professional in your communication, and try to find a mutually beneficial solution.
Dispute the Chargeback
If you have gathered evidence and believe that the chargeback is invalid, it's essential to dispute it with your payment processor. Provide all relevant documentation and explain why you believe the chargeback is not valid. Your payment processor will review the evidence and make a decision on the chargeback.
Learn from the Experience
Handling chargebacks can be a frustrating experience, but it's also an opportunity to learn and improve your business processes. Take the time to review your procedures and identify any areas that need improvement. This might include improving customer service, enhancing fraud detection, or improving product quality.
In conclusion,
Chargebacks can be a challenging and frustrating experience for businesses, but they are not always avoidable. Understanding the reason for the chargeback, gathering evidence, responding quickly, contacting the customer, disputing the chargeback, and learning from the experience are all essential steps in handling chargebacks effectively. By following these tips, you can minimize the impact of chargebacks on your business and maintain your reputation with your customers.

SCAMMER ALERT
known victims
As most of you know by now due to a multitude of posts that have been made about this person by different readers, @ recoveringinternetaddict is a scammer that has been bringing many tarot readers in financial trouble.
As of now the known victims of this person have been @bitchy-craft (me), @tarotwithavi and @starryfree.
We all have made posts about this person, but I still find it important to make another post about it, because this person is still charging back more, and will most likely continue to do so for as long as she can. Her card issuer, who decides on who wins all the cases has been approving her as the rightful winner the whole time.
I hate asking for help, but the amount she has taken from me keeps piling up, becoming more and more to handle. If anyone had been thinking about buying a reading from me, please do it now; I could really use the help.

If anyone else has been scammed by this person, please reach out to us or make a post of your own to keep spreading awareness. I will then be able to add you to this list if you wish.

A chargeback is a provision by banks and card networks such as Visa & MasterCard to protect buyers from unauthorized or fraudulent payments.
Once the cardholder files a complaint, the bank reports the same to Razorpay and initiates an investigative procedure.

The debt is $370.33 USD.
There's $24.25 USD on hold that will be automatically added to the account on the 15th.
There's also some money in crypto but it doesn't belong to me or my friend. It just won't let us send it until the debt is relieved.
(The three pending refunds were decided in our favor and not added to the debt.)
If you help, thank you so much <3 reblogging also helps.
I'm feeling kind of desperate and mostly tired but if you want to lend me a hand or help some people in hard countries eat and do whatever else
You could totally maybe donate to my paypal
@ari387
Because I'm almost $400 in debt from just trying to help people and the debt being there makes it harder for my friend to make money because my paypal is often what we use to collect money he makes for jobs
Basically I need to get out of debt regardless, and getting out of debt would help him greatly too. If I get passed the debt from the donations, any extra will be used to help my friends.
I'm disabled and they live in country/s where things are rough so it's hard to make money
The people I love need to eat and take care of themselves and there's not much else to it
Anything helps.
I'm willing to take simplistic commissions for art or writing as long as you understand I'm not skilled and mostly make things for my own enjoyment.
Maybe I'll livestream some video games again soon but last time I tried it lagged so much that it wouldn't have been worth watching
If you have any odd jobs I can do through the internet, I'm willing

Idk if anyone’s been talking about this (I haven’t seen any posts cross my dash yet anyways) but it seems like bot accounts are leaving replies on posts from art blogs with a message like “dm me if your commissions are open!”
I wasn’t suspicious the first time, but I’ve seen it like four times now across two of my blogs this past week. One of them had answered a TON of asks from ppl who reached out with their com prices after receiving these messages, and all got the same “dm me!” response
Ik times are tough and everyone is eager to sell their coms (I def paused for a moment deciding if I should dm) but please make sure you’re checking out the blog first before you decide to reply to something like this. The four blogs that’ve messaged me were new accounts with default pfps and only a couple likes and reblogs all in the same day (probably to make them seem less suspicious). Be safe out there, y’all!
#clan meeting#psa#idk how else to tag this#not sure what the motive here is but can’t be good#perhaps chargebacks? idk#weigh in in the replies if you wanna
