Heading north to Michigan and spotted this guy at a traffic light. Good way to kick off the journey. It’s our third getaway to Michigan since last May, exploring new areas each time. Kalamazoo this time, by way of Battle Creek so we will be seeing all new territory. Looking for bluer pastures but holding out some hope for Indiana. We did it for Obama in 2008, we will do it again! 💙

I’m a little over 8000 words into Chapter 154 of “Madferit: The Novel” (aka Addie’s Story) with the goal of having it written and posted by Christmas of 2023…but my thoughts have been interrupted by “In The Heart Of The Sea”. I just got the book from my local library the other day and just finished reading the first chapter. This of course after I’ve been scouring the Wikipedia pages and other websites related to it.

I blame The Great White Whale, Cillian Murphy’s shaggy hair and earring, and Paul Anderson with a man bun playing someone other than a thuggish criminal for once. What can I say? As much as I adore the Peaky Blinders look, this has been a lovely change of scenery. 😏

Will it inspire some sort of fanfiction? Maybe. Maybe not. It would be nice to see some sort of crossover though. Or maybe something completely on its own.

Also, if you have any fanfiction story recommendations for this fandom, please share! It seems pretty small from what I’ve seen but I haven’t looked that hard. I also haven’t given the Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, etc. fandoms much of a chance either so I’d love some recommendations for them too! Something beyond Peaky Blinders would be wonderful which is hard to find for Paul. Thanks in advance!

Here's an excerpt from it. Hey, remember how I wrote the last excerpt I shared? Now let's change a few words and the context (names have been changed to character 1 and 2 to avoid spoilers):

Suspicion briefly flashed in her head, but <character 1> began circling <character 2>, and the latter did the same. Rain pounded both their heads, lightning struck all around them, and thunder crashed in their ears, both eyes forming a drawbridge as If a curse was cast between them. And there they circled, espying nought but the other, seeking any weakness they could exploit.

The duel is quite... hmm. Brutal. I'm glad this fic is already rated M with the tags in place.

Now I'm in the middle of writing the next section. With things being calmer and after an action-packed scene, now is the time for both the aftermath, showing world-building, and connecting to the next chapter.

HAPPY HUMP DAY, LIKERS!!!! We are at the #Halfway point of the week. How is it treating you? Good I hope. I had an accidental nap earlier, but I had thankfully course corrected. And with that done, things should be back to #motoring. Speaking of motoring...how are things looking? Let's find out. AKA EDITING, TYPING, and WRITING!!!! EDITING. Still looking for something that ain't there. Move along. ;) TYPING. It's been on my projects. Not so much on typing my writing projects. ;) BUT I need to get back into that as well. WRITING. This week saw me aim for a #changeofscenery. And I took my writing outside. In this case, I went to the beach. Ocean Beach to be specific. What I was not expecting yesterday #However was the ambush. MY CHARACTERS SET ME UP!!! :D :D :D I had gotten into the thick of it between Shaun and Trey at Eugene's fundraiser event. I was super excited to get into it,too. What was to be a moment of triumph yesterday turned into surprise when in the middle of the #argument between Shaun and Trey, some choice words came from Trey's lips. And those words sounded reeeeally familiar. Then it hit me. It was something from my REAL life. It was popping up into my writing. Grrrr. Hate that. It usually meant I had some unresolved issues going on. And it was nothing that I could or even wanted to deal with. Or it was something I thought I dealt with. And it kept going on. All day. Le sigh. So I was at the beach. And I journaled instead. Now today? Was I ready? We were about to find out...

If Mario or Luigi lost their sibling, I can easily see them moving into a bedroom in Peach's castle and living there permanently.

There is no way either one of them would do well in an empty house when they've had each other their entire lives, and there is absolutely no chance they are going to be able to navigate a home where everything is color coded to emphasize the empty spaces where their sibling used to be without it tearing them apart.

I’m able to watch Our Zoo through my mom’s Hoopla account! And of course, one episode in and I’m already hooked! Chester Zoo is one of the greatest zoos on the planet and I’m so blessed to have visited it. The show is so wholesome. Much like All Creatures Great And Small which is what I need. Perhaps I’ve discovered a new fandom…or something to crossover into one of my already established fanfiction worlds.

As for writing, I managed to get a few more paragraphs done for Chapter 154 of Addie’s story yesterday. I thought about posting what I have for a content preview (thanks to a recent post on here shared by @elise-51-blog) but decided not to. I hadn’t touched her latest chapter since August so it felt good to finally get back into her saga even if it is still a mess. My current ideas for Jules’ saga are a mess too. Hence why I need a potential escape into the founding of Chester Zoo and Lee Ingleby.
