Bombing suspect is Cesar Sayoc Jr, a 56-year-old Florida man. 

- He’s a registered Republican. 

- He’s a Trump supporter and has attended his rallies. - He was convicted 8 times in the past for larceny, grand theft, battery, drug possession, and threats.

And has made many threats on Twitter against those who oppose and criticize Trump.

When Trump routinely calls the media and prominent Democrats ‘enemies of the people,’ and embraces lots of conspiratorial thinking engages in falsehoods and lies just like allot of Republicans/Conservatives and Alt-Right individuals including Fox News hosts like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingrahm, Jeanine Pirro and many others it should not surprise anyone that one of his supporters took him seriously and turned violent words into violent actions.

In remarks delivered at the White House on Monday, Trump explicitly denounced white supremacy, just as he eventually did after first praising the “very fine people” at the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, two years ago this weekend. (He reverted to form a few months later by referring to Haiti and African countries as “shitholes.”) Just as he criticized people who chanted, about Ilhan Omar, “Send her back!,” at a rally three weeks ago. (He followed that by reversing that criticism and launching more racist tweets a week later.) Trump’s mindless belligerence, his perilous and ignorant world view, and, particularly, his use of inflammatory racist rhetoric are rightly seen as alarming. The Presidency is the most esteemed and powerful platform in the country, and it is reasonable to see a relationship between the President’s imprimatur and the ballistic bedlam that regularly erupts and targets people and groups for whom he has expressed contempt. Cesar Sayoc, who on Monday was sentenced to twenty years in prison for sending sixteen homemade pipe bombs to people whom he deemed enemies of the President, argued that his perspective was skewed by mental illness—and also by his obsessive admiration of Trump. This, for the record, is why people in public life are supposed to be mindful of their rhetoric. Their words reach a wide swath of the public, which has varying abilities to interpret their meaning and their nuance, or to parse what is said in earnest from what is meant facetiously. (Trump is particularly troublesome in this regard, as his most incendiary words are frequently explained away as humor lost on his uptight critics.)

WHO’S YOUR DADDY?

Late last month, the lawyer for the family of Cesar Sayoc – aka the Florida Stripper Bomber – told CNN’s Anderson Cooper, “This was someone lost, he was looking for anything, and he found a father in Trump.” This echoed what Kanye West said the week before:

“I didn’t have a lot of male energy in my home… I love Hillary and I love everyone. The campaign ‘I’m With Her’ just didn’t make me feel – as a guy that didn’t get to see my dad all the time – like a guy that can play catch with his son. It was something about when I put this [MAGA] hat on, it made me feel like Superman.”

Interviews with Trump supporters show many other examples of people saying he’s “the father figure I always wanted” and the kind of “strict dad” America needs. This is cult-like. Every cult has a daddy. Or the misogyny of it. (The Florida Stripper Bomber also reportedly hates his mother and if, like Kanye, you blame a woman president for not playing catch with your son, you probably blame women for everything.)

What’s really interesting is how, for years, Republicans have pointed to the breakdown of families in “inner cities” as the root of all evil, and now they’re the ones looking for a father. And when Donald Trump becomes that father figure in your community, your community is broken.

Everything you’d want in a good father – someone who’s honest, secure in himself, disciplined, moral, ethical, patient, loyal, takes responsibility for his mistakes, spends quality time with his children, leads by example – Trump is the exact opposite.

At the end of a lot of debates, moderators ask that stupid question, “Say something nice about your opponent,” and everybody says, “He’s a good father.” Democrats can’t even say that about Trump. He ogles one daughter and ignores the other. He’s a model for fatherhood like Casey Anthony is a model for motherhood.

Something that I'm genuinely confused about. August talk of false Flags in conspiracies, but the thing is the people in power right now are Republicans.
