That was it. The darkling took a shaky breath before everything was released. The trauma. The wounds. The nightmares. All of it rushed out of him in the form of tears. A choked sob before he curled up against the other. Sobs and whimpers and his body shaking from the force of it.

His pain could finally be released without punishment.

"S-Shadow....In a way..."

Celios looked back at the darkling, eyes holding nothing but patience. "...You can say anything you-."

"Shadow is my older brother!" he wailed, burying his face.

Celios felt the words die in his throat. His.....soul copy. Was this young one's older brother? He couldn't...imagine.

Or perhaps he could. Heephis.

"I know he had to......but." a whimper from Eclipse before he sobbed harder.

Celios swallowed the lump in his throat. He couldn't look either of them in the eyes right now.

".........I am so sorry, Eclipse."

The darkling was hurting. Hurting too much physically. But mentally. He was content. His teacher had him. He was safe.

He was safe with his papa.

It was strange. Eclipse never saw anyone as a father. In fact. A part of him out right refused to have a father in his life. Purely because the actual fathers he DID have. Deeply hurt him in some way.

Doom was all the types of wounds you would think. All the things you'd imagine. Eclipse still had the vivid memories of him shouting and hurting him.

Death. Black Death. Granted, he never laid a hand on Eclipse. He honestly let him do his own thing. And he did tend to the boy's wounds after Doom had finished punishing him.

But sometimes silence hurts more than the fist. And Death was silent. Throughout all of it. Never defending Eclipse. Never pushing Doom away from him when blow after blow was delivered onto him.

Just silence. Eyes either on the ground or staring ahead. It wasn't too bad when Death became the new main leader. When Shadow defeated Doom but.

He still remembers.

And it is why he neve accepted anyone as a father to him. Until Zielo. Because Zielo didn't look upon him with pity. There were no "Aww you poor thing."

There was understanding. And patience. He knew Zielo was...harsh. Cold. Abrasive.

But he was patient and kind with the darkling. First time he made a mistake, he was scared Zielo would be angry.

But the dark god simply cleaned up the mess. And told him to try again and be patient.

It was just so strange for anyone who was an outsider to witness.

But it meant everything to Eclipse.

He had done as instructed and curled up in his father's arms. He didn't know where they were going. But he didn't care. He would be safe anyway.

He jostled awake after a bit. An adorable yawn coming from him as he rubbed his eyes. Looking around. Flowers were all over the ground and there were in some grove.

"....Teacher? Where are we???"

It was so pretty. And then he looked up, sensing someone. He squinted for a moment, because this person had their backs to them. And then his eyes widened.

"Oh!! It's you!!! The Shadow with the lilac eyes!!" He said, cheerfully despite not feeling well.

Celios perked up and turned around. Confusion in his eyes that turned to shock as he took in his visitors.

Eclipse was happy to see him. Unaware of who this was. It didn't matter. This being had tried to protect him too.

"Teacher! That man right there." He points to Celios. "He found me before Uno attacked me. Told me to stay put and keep low until he or you came. I didn't know why he did that at the time but..."

The darkling's voice soon got quiet and gentle. Kind eyes staring at the other god.

"...You were trying to help me. You wanted to protect me too..."

Celios had been watching his brother before looking at Eclipse. A small nod. "Yes, child. I did."

One more quick thought about TMOM:

All this time, I've been trying to figure out who Zielo's apprentice was before the fall. Chaos was Heephis' apprentice. Sol was Celios' apprentice. So who was Zielo's?

I was making all sorts of crazy theories about how it was Jules and he was secretly a Demi God. (I was trying to come up with a reason he was able to use Sonic's god powers because I didn't believe Bernie's explanation.)

And then today, I realized. Oh. It was probably whoever Perfect Chaos was before she got turned into a Bloodthroat. Or Mogul. But I think it was Bloodthroat Perfect Chaos because that is so ironic it hurts.
