The issues I have with Castiel are the reasons other people love him. He's too poor meow meow all the time and it pisses me off. His simpy swag is too much for me

Confession Time!
A lot of people say they wouldn't have a problem with destiel if it wasn’t for how terribly the hellers (not the regular, unproblematic Destiel shippers) behave. I agree on the fact that the death-threat hurling, actor harassing, fandom toxifying, gaslighting asses make me actively hate the ship, too. But, even if all of its shippers were calm and lovely, I would STILL hate the idea of destiel. This is going to about the ship itself and why I don’t like it, not about criticizing the people who ship it (reasonably).
If anyone stumbles across this and wants to claim it’s because I’m homophoic or some dumb shit, feel free to show yourself out. And grow up. If you agree or are just curious as to why, feel free to read on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first reason I can’t get on board with destiel is Castiel himself:
I hate the ship because, if you look at it as Castiel having feeling for Dean from early on, he comes off as a creep. First, how many times has he invaded Dean's personal space or stared at him while he slept, even though Dean has repeatedly told him not to and indicated it made him uncomfortable? I can think of at least 4 off the top of my head, but I’m sure there are more. These moment are written as jokes, and to show Cas is a derpy weirdo, but if you want to read them as a biproduct of Castiel having feeling for Dean, it makes him a stalker.
Second, Castiel only caring about other people, including Sam and Jack, because of Dean makes him a s selfish and kind of shitty character to me. I like the idea of Castiel being a defective amgel, coming off the assembly line with a "crack in his chassy," meaning he was always inclined to question things too much, maybe have an natural affinity for humans, to rebel. The idea that our show's version of Sam, Dean and even Castiel were special because they always defied the story that was written for them is the ultimate demonstration of free will winning out, and it speaks to the uniqueness of "our versions" of their characters. But, when it’s framed as Castiel only rebelling because he has a boner for Dean (like the "confession" scene seems to retroactively suggest), only ever questioned anything because he had a boner for Dean, only went against his fellow angels because he was hot for Dean and not becuae Dean inspired him to do the right thing, and only cared about people he says he loves and calls family because of Dean … that makes Dean special, not Castiel. In fact, it makes Castiel a simp who can’t think for himself, and is anything but genuine in his claim of caring about anyone but Dean. It makes him bereft of his own agency.
Finally, I hate the idea of Dean and Castiel ever being in a romantic relationship because of Castiel's shitty behavior. Castiel essentially forced Jimmy Novak to become his vessel again by possessing his daughter and basically holding her ransom until he consented, and he still thinks he did the right thing into late seasons. Even when he finds Claire to sort of, kind of try make up for taking her dad away, he makes a feeble effort at best, and then basically just wonders off and forgets about her again after his momentary attack of conscious. For Dean, a character who fights to have free will, to shack-up with someone who took over a man's body and when he died (because Castiel took his boy into battle), he just sort of took over the body for himself and called it his, like a crab finding a new shell … is a would make Dean a bit gross, too. Hello, even depressed and desperate Sam wouldn’t bang Ruby until she found a braindead vessel, whose soul had likely departed already (and he’s the monster fucker). Castiel also broke Sam's hell wall leading to him going insane and nearly dying of insomnia, and he did it purposely just to hurt and worry Dean, distracting him from his plan to play god. This is inexcusable, and that fact that Dean even stays his friend feels like a betrayal to Sam, as well as out of character frankly, never mind going on to have a relationship with him. Finally, Castiel has threatened and beaten Dean when he doesn’t do what he wants more than once, when he is much more powerful than Dean (so it’s not even a fair fight) and despite what hellers seem to think, I don’t find abuse sexy.
The next reason I can’t get onboard with Destiel is Dean:
Dean laterallyliterally implies, out right says, and demonstrates multiple times throughout the show that he is straight. Thus, with the version of Castiel that Dean knows being in a male vessel, Dean just isn’t going to be interested in him that way. I’ve seen shippers argue that people sometimes fall in love with someone of the same sex despite identifying as straight, but come on, that is going to be a relatively small percentage of of people. But more than that, Dean isn’t a real person; he’s a character. If the writers were going to make his character have a change of sexuality, or make an exception for Castiel, they would have had to explicitly show it on screen, through words and actions, and not just drop "subtext hints" that never go anywhere, and are largely stupid or hinged on stereotypes. They never did, so Dean remained heterosexual to the end.
Even if his sexuality were not a barrier, Dean does not knowingly peruse monsters. Castiel despite how depowered and essentially useless he becomes over time, is not a human. Angels are essentially just another flavor of monster on Supernatural, thus Dean is not be interested in dating Castiel even if he were in a female vessel, despite what some shippers like to claim. The only times Dean has knowingly hooked up with a monster was with Anna, and that was before she got her grace back and was a true angel again. The other monster he slept with was the Amazon, or whatever she was, before she had a kid with him without his consent, and Dean didn’t know that she was a monster. He frequently criticized Sam for having been with monsters, and that criticism makes it pretty clear that he wouldn’t want to be with any himself. Finally, this is a bit of a side note, any many may not agree with me, but I don't think Dean sees any supernatural creatures as quite equal to humans, and that includes Castiel, Jack and Benny. If it weren’t enough that Dean isn’t into males, the fact that he also isn’t into monsters, pretty much makes the destiel ship dead in the water for me.
Finally, the way Dean treats Castiel is not conducive to friendship at times, never mind romance. Dean pretty frequently belittles Castiel, calling him essentially uselesess when he doesn’t have powers (baby in a trench coat), and he makes fun of Castiel working at the Gas 'n Sip to try sustain himself, after Dean kicked him out of the bunker powerless and penniless. If Dean loves Castiel, mocking him for working whatever job he can after he turned him away, is an interesting way to show it. He also lashes out at Castiel pretty harshly (I though often deservedly). He tells Castiel that "nobody cares that he’s broken," and he says "everything that goes wrong" seems to be because of Castiel, and he told him that if anything happened to his mother after Castiel failed to warn them about Jack' behavior, Castiel would be "dead" to him. Even when the show reminds us of Castiel's existence when he’s not in an episode by having Dean claim he’s worried about him, or having Sam reassure him they’ll find/help Castiel, when Castiel actually is back, Dean essentially goes back to ignoreimg him. Dean only seems to care about Castiel when he’s missing or when he can help them fight something. In down time, he’s usually pretty happy just to chill with Sam.
Finally, I can’t ship destiel because of Sam, or more specially, Sam & Dean:
Sam and Dean have such a twisted-up, enmeshed, and all-consuming relationship with each other, that shipping either of them with characters outside of their relationship just isn’t interesting to me. I personally don’t ship them together, either. What they have goes beyind relationship categorization (brothers, friends, adversaries, parent/child, life partners, etc.), and I honesty think if the show had defied network parameters and actually had them hook up sexually, the relationship would have lost something. Sam and Dean are so unique and compelling in that their big love is a sibling and not a romantic parnptner, or even a parent/child relationship, that even as a fan of a good romantic pairing normally, I love that them exactly as they are. And their relationship is more meaningful to me than almost any other fictional one I’ve encountered. So frankly, shipping either with anyone long-term (I wouldn’t have hated seeing both of them have one more short romantic relationship in there somewhere) just feels pointless to me, and would just pale in comparison to what Sam and Dean are with to each other.

"m/sha carried spn on his back" where. literally where. he's a slight helping character in s4-5, a villain adjacent in s6 to the point dean wanted to kill him, he's gone a majority of s7, s8 he's literally a depressed mess and when does do something he ends up STARTING the conflict of s9. his character is regressing through the 11 seasons he's in.

In Defence of Sam Winchester
(Or alternately titled)
Two Times Sam Actually Made Pretty Big Mistakes and Several Times When He Did Not (But was Blamed Anyway)
I have two sort of random thoughts on this scene, followed by a long-ass rant about Sam’s Alleged Screw-ups under the cut. This is me, so of course it got long.
1. “Sam, I want Gadreal to pay as much as you do, but nothing is worth losing you.”
Truth. Here we have one of the few times I can unreservedly agree with Castiel.
2. “Being human didn’t just change my view of food, it changed my view of you.”
I don’t ship on this show, both brothers are implied to be straight, and I don’t want to see either of them in a long term relationships while the other is around because it would just suck to be Sam or Dean’s significant other, as you’d always be a distant second to their brother.
But … if Castiel had to fall for one of the brothers (we are not discussing whatever that was in Despair), it should have been Sam. First, Sam treated him with a ton more courtesy, respect and forgiveness than Dean (and more than he ever deserved), and the arc could have been really compelling. Seeing an angel going from seeing Sam as an abomination, to protecting him for Dean’s sake, to protecting him for his Sam’s own sake, to learning to empathize and relate to Sam after being human himself, to loving him for overcoming his own flaws and guilt could have been pretty epic. Again, I’m fine with it not actually happening because Supernatural is not about romance for me, but they could have done something similar and made Sam and Cas' friendship more rich if they’d given them more screen time. There are moments where Sam and Cas are quite sweet with each other, just fond; meanwhile, Dean is cursing Cas out every other episode, and Cas is backstabbing Dean (and Sam) while they call each other friend. And Jared and Misha have good chemistry, so if Cas had to stick around longer than his character warranted, they should have had the characters who can relate to each other actually have opportunities to, well, relate more. And I don’t buy that line that Jared and Misha couldn’t get through a scene together because the gags and bloopers have to be exaggerated or no one could have gotten through scenes on set, and none of them would have gotten jobs after the show ended.
Anyway, on to what truly sparked this post..
3. “The only person who has screwed things up more consistently than you, is me.”
So, this is the part of the scene where my Sam and Cas interaction fondness evaporates. The basic statement is correct, Castiel has in fact “screwed things up” more than Sam, but the implication is that Sam is this constant screw-up, and with this I take issue. Much issue.
This scene is located in Season 9, a season where Sam has in fact not screwed up, but has rather been screwed over. Dean has screwed up here, you know, the other Winchester brother who makes mistakes but doesn’t get the “consistent” blame for it that Sam does by the show (or characters. Or many fans). This is not in anyway anti Dean, but both brothers screw up a lot and the Sam scapegoating is out of control.
On that note, when has Sam consistently screwed up (in a big way, not smaller things), with him solely responsible for doing the “screwing,” and when is it a result of actions outside of his control?
Season 1: Sam going to college was treated like he committed murder, when it was actually normal and justifiable thing to do, so I’m not counting that. Next, Sam discovered he’s been fed demon blood as a baby, so he’s monster adjacent. This is not something he did wrong, but was done to him. He also failed to kill Azazrl, but he did so because he couldn’t kill his own dad who was possessed at the time (especially with Dean begging him not to). No major failures or screw-ups here.
Season 2: Sam is possessed by a demon, who kills and attacks people while wearing his body. Sam didn’t chose this, but it is another thing that was done to him. Later, be gets killed (if you can call that screwing something up) because he showed compassion to another “Soecisl Child.” His reward for his goodness was being stabbed in the back. He didn’t screw anything up on a grad scale this season, but was too good.
Season 3: Sam fails to save Dean from his Demon Deal. Again, Sam didn’t make this deal, so Dean dying was his own fault (as sad and awful as it is). Sam could have saved Dean (we know this from Season. 4’s arc), but Dean would not let him work with Ruby to do so. Again, Dean died because of Dean, not Sam. Though, I will never forgive the show for not letting Sam save him here, it still isn’t a Sam scew-up.
Season 4: Ah, here is the major time that Sam did in fact screw up. Drinking the demon blood and trusting Ruby were no bueno (though she did do the work to make herself look trustworthy and Sam was mad with grief, he still fuckrd up). Then, his “greatest” mistake: he killed Lilith, freeing Lucifer from the cage and starting the apocalypse. This was a major screw up too, but he also didn’t know what was going to happen, and if he didn’t do it, Dean was planning to do the same, so I don’t think he deserved actual blame for killing a demon (without knowing the consequences), when everyone from angels to demons was suggesting she needed to die. My tally: 1.5 Sam screw-ups.
Season 5: All Sam does this whole Season is be honest, atone, redeem himself, and Save the world (with Dean’s help). Sam is perfect in Season 5. Fight me.
Season 6: Sam does a lot of bad shit: kills a lot of people, tries to dad-icide Bobby, brings the Campbells on screen by hunting with them (snd they suck), and hurts Dean pretty repeatedly. Except Sam, the real Sam, didn’t do any of these things by choice. “He lost his soul” which Dean even blmaes him for in Season 8, but that’s giving Sam too much agency in this problem. He didn’t “lose” his soul like he “lost his shoe.” No. His soul was left behind, deliberately or not, by Castiel (lead screw-up himself) to be tortured by Lucifer in the cage. Sam’s actions in Season 6 were not “just another Sam screw-up” because he didn’t actually do anything wrong because the Real Sam wasn’t even steering the ship. So, smy Soulless Sam mistakes in Season 6 are Castiel’s Fault.
Season 7: Sam goes insane. Even though some of the characters seems to blame Sam for this (or at least resent him for it), as though MHI are something for which we should blame the affected person, Sam is not to blame here. Having a bout of insanity after being tortured in hell for 150+ years is not a screw-up. It’s not an oopsie. It’s both reasonable and not Sam’s fault. It is in fact Castiel’s fault (again) for breaking Sam’ hell wall. So, much like last season, in Season 7, Sam even more so did nothing wrong. I really will fight you on that one.
Season 8: And here’s the crux of what Castiel was probably actually more directly referring to. Sam didn’t save Dean from Purgatory. He committed the cardinal sin of codependent brother husbands (I don’t ship, but I do call them this to amuse myself). He didn’t save Dean from Purgatory: he didn’t sell his soul; lose himself in grief, pursuit of revenge, or self-destruction (like in Mysety Spot or Season 4); or try to kill himself to make a deal to get this brother back. What a monster! Never mind that he didn’t know that Dean was in Purgatory at all, or that he thought he was doing what Dean would have wanted in case of his death, and try to live (like he told Dean to do when he sacrifices himself in Sean Sing).
If we need to count this as one of Sam’s big screw-ups (as opposed to weak and/or out of character writing), we are now at two major mistakes (or 2.5). Sam had “consistently” actively screwed things up on a large-Castiel-like scale twice in 9 seasons. The other screw-ups were because he was too good of a person or because someone else has done something to him that has lead to terrible consequences.
Actually, I guess we have to count Sam not closing the gates of hell, as if that would have worked out in our favour on this never ending tragedy of a show even if he’d done it. Still, I guess he didn’t “succeed” in dying on an errand thst probably would have backfired on the world anyway. But, in this case he actually would have succeeded (and did in the first 3 trials) if Dean hadn’t stopped him. Dean begged him not to complete the last trial so he wouldn't kill himsrlf, so if this is one of Sam’s screw-ups, it’s Dean’s too. And I’m not even inclined to count it as one because, as I said, it probably wouldn’t have had the resulted in anything good if the gates were closed. But, if I must add it, Sam’s tally is 3.5 large mistakes in 9 + years.
Castiel, you’re kind of an asshole.
(Before anyone comes at me, if you bother to read this far, I know Sam (and Dean, and everyone) makes lots of smaller mistakes, but for the purposes of my rebuttal to Castiel’s point, I’m only focused on big world-ending, or in other ways personally devastating, mistakes.)

While my brainrot is on the topic of Cas crit:
His WILLFUL IGNORANCE during his "Heaven Trials" with Metatron. Sam is over there being purged from the inside out, Dean is fucking praying for him to survive, and Castiel what? Doesn't stop to think how weird it is the Heaven Trials don't do the same to him? Why? Because Sam deserves it? Because Castiel needs to stain his Grace with horrible acts? As if Castiel hasnt already committed sins to stain his Grace? As if Castiel shouldn't logically suffer the same way as Sam for committing these Trials?

Also on this track, now i'm thinking about how castiel LET himself be possessed by lucifer, BRINGING LUCIFER INTO THE WORLD, after Sam sacrificed himseld and was tortured for hundreds(?) of years in the cage. Not to mention the r*pe jokes that lucifer/hallucifer kept making at sam, it's horrible that castiel let him into the world and I think that dean and sam should NOT have forgiven him for it.

New Anti-Hunter SPN Discord Server!
•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•
Are you someone who likes SPN but hates Hunters/the concept of Hunting?
Do you think that their mass-murdering of Monsters is wrong? Do you hate how the show and the fandom always push them as "good/heroic"? Do you think that Jacob Pond should have been allowed to get revenge on Dean for killing his mother? Do you want to do an SPN rp where the Hunters aren't glorified for once?
If your answer to any of these is "yes", then you've come to the right place! SPN: The Real Monsters (18+) is, to my knowledge, the only Anti-Hunter SPN rp server on Discord!
We offer the ability to rp SPN without dealing with Hunters/Hunting being glorified, and without Supernaturals/Monsters being demonized and treated like shit! We also offer OOC channels to talk with like-minded people about SPN and other topics, share pictures and memes, and more!
If all of this sounds good to you, then come join us now, and fight back against the Hunters today!

No but, for real. Castiel was a bit of a dick, but he was still better in the earlier seasons. He also learns to care about Sam for himself: “nothing is worth losing you.” The way they come full circle to caring about each other is honestly a better story to me than alies who keep betraying each other and calling each other best friends while also showing nearly constant distrust or frustration with each other (Dean and Castiel).
Castiel “You didn’t” rant below.
One thing here I will never get over is when Castiel says, “You didn’t." He is so so sanctimonious here and he literally wrong. No one ever “laid it all out” for Sam. They didn’t tell him what drinking demon blood or killing Lilith would lead to; the angels only told him “don’t” and “you’re an abomination” Why would he be inclined to listen to them when they shit on him constantly. Also, the angels, including Castiel himself, knew what they were doing when they pit the brothers against each other, and set one up as the saviour and the other up as the abomination. So, Castiel is both wrong and hypocritical in what he’s saying here. He is part of why Sam didn’t know the full picture and part of why he was able to let the devil out.
But, I guess it’s okay because he’s going to go on to cause serious problems for the rest of the series (including letting the devil out of the cage on purpose). 🙄 And he won’t always take full responsibility for his mistakes either.
what is his problem 😭

Watching a reactor on YouTube who just got to Season 4: Lazarus Rising, and I’m so annoyed by the amount of comments with people saying things like, "this is when the series REALLY starts" and "Seasons 1-3 were the prologue, now The Story begins" and "I’ve been waiting for you to meet my favorite character!"
Tumblr media
First, I will never be able to understand Castiel being someone's legitimate favorite character. I just don’t get it. He starts off as a massive dick, becomes an ally, uses and betrays both brothers a number of times, rarely takes full responsibility for his actions, and ends up as a totally different and neutered version of himself. But this guy is your favorite!? The only reason I think a large number of fans who love him do is because he comes in the gate treating Sam like crap and he becomes a simp for Dean (or they are shippers). Also, if someone is a more casual fan, I can see enjoying Cass because he’s quirky and he mostly stands up for the Winchesters, but if someone is a big fan of the brothers, Cass makes their lives harder a lot of the time. Also, I’m coming to really hate the fact that the dude is always in a trench coat. How am I supposed to take a character seriously who is essentially like an unchanging cartoon character come to life? Anyway, despite how it might sound from my ranting, I actually do think people are allowed to love whatever character they want, but it just doesn’t compute for me personally that it’s Cass as he is on screen (not in someone’s head).
Tumblr media
Next, the idea of people calling the first three seasons "The Prologue" to supernatural is offensive to me personally (well, not offensive but it’s dumb as hell). A prologue is used to give some important background that should be known for you to better understand the main story, but it happened before, or doesn’t quite fit into, the main narrative. I’m sorry, but the first three seasons of Supernatural are the foundation that everything builds off of, and maybe I’m splitting hairs here, but it’s not just the set up to the Real Story. The Real Story of Supernatural has always been and will always be "the epic love story of Sam and Dean," not the angel crap. Calling the basis of the whole show the prologue has an implied message that it’s not as important as, or connected to the rest of the story. Again, people are allowed to have their own opinions about what they enjoy in media, but this idea that what came before Season 4 wasn’t as important as the rest of the show is actually bad media literacy, especially when you consider how much retconning and inconsistency later seasons have (*cough* John Winchester, for exapmle). The early seasons are Supernatural at its most pure, and if you don’t like or care about Sam and Dean's story, what are you doing here?
Tumblr media
I was going to go on by listing all of the important things that we learn about Sam and Dean's characters and relationship in the first three seasons, but honesty, I’m tired. If you’re reading my post, I’m sure you already know. True fans of the show, even if seasons 1 to 3 aren’t their favorite, know how important these seasons are. Frankly, if someone claims that they don’t matter as much as the later season, then I’m going to assume that they are probably a heller (and I’m probably right), thus their opinions on the show don’t matter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of Hellers, they are the Jehovah’s Witnesses of fandom. They descend on your doorstep (YouTube video, blog post, etc), uninvited and unwelcome, to make you uncomfortable by forcing their literature (head-canons and subtext) on you in a vain attempt to make you convert to their twisted version of a cult religion (Destiel). Some get indoctrinated into their cult, others consider them a joke, and yet others are driven to madness by the constant hounding of the hellers. I wish they would just stay in their lane and let people come to their own conclusions about the show and the characters, but they try to gatekeep the fandom experience by jumping on anyone new and telling them how they are the "most popular ship" and that supernatural queerbaits, but Dean and Cass are still totes husbands, and there is some other guy there, too but Sam is just some jerk who isn’t as important as Wuwu Dean and their Little Meow Meow Cass. If somone actually sees and enjoys Destiel on their own, great, good for them; they’ll find the blogs and groups who love it too. Hellers don’t need to try actively recruiting people. It’s all just a numbers gone to them. We have the most fanfic (um, yes, because the show doesn’t deliver what you want), we are the most popular ship (sure, because the other main ship is brothers which squicks some people out, and because you crucify anyone who admits to being a Wincest shipper), and they tell the stupidest lies (the show shifts away from being about the brothers, and focusses more on Dean and Cass' "relationship," and Sam isn’t as important to the story later). I wish they would just stay in their own sandbox and not come pee in everyone else's. Cult like behavior in action.
Tumblr media
Okay, deep breaths. I’m grad I got that one off of my chest, but my blog is getting very ranty. I’m going to try make sure my next post is a positive one.
Happy weekend everyone!

"Sacrificed everything" -- do they mean when he was a fucking idiot and got tricked into casting all of his angelic brethren from heaven because he was feeling pathetic? When his grace was stolen for the end of some fakeass trials that he didn't even stop to think, "hmm.. the trials Sam is doing have significance and are KILLING HIM so it's weird that I'm just hunky dory and that i had to kill people that don't make sense for the supposed task" -- THAT "sacrifice"? Can they be fucking for real.

I’ll preface this by saying people can certainly enjoy whatever moments they want on a show. But, that being said …
The moments hellers cheer/brag about getting on SPN, claiming they are “romantic” or “subtext” mostly happen in bad seasons, are rip-offs of something that already happened between Sam and Dean, or are lame and/or out of character.
Just from the samples I’ve seen floating around on here today:
Dean keeping Cas’ trench coat and apparently transferring it between cars - First, I liked this type of gesture better when it was Sam wearing the Samulet until Dean was brought back from hell in Season 4. Second, the trench coat makes Cas feel like a cartoon character so I can’t take it seriously. Third, Jensen and Misha themselves have literally laughed about this moment, and Jensen tried to talk Singer out of including it, because it’s OOC and lame. (Also, Season 7).
The mixed tape - I’ve already written a whole post about this. It’s not inherently romantic, and there is no way Dean made it fresh for Cas. It was obviously an old tape he’d made for himself and gave to his friend; a nice gesture but nothing romantic. (Season 12.)
Dean giving Castiel a “Cowboy Outfit” - Again, I liked it better when Sam and Dean did it first. Also, the clothes Dean gave Sam actually looked good on him. He gave Cas a lame straw hat that looks deeply stupid with a trench coat. Again, Castiel is like a cartoon character (or the jester), not to be taken seriously. (Season 13, the AU nightmare, Colonsl Sanders season.)
The Dean Cave having two chairs - The chairs (and open beers) were obviously intended for Dean and Sam NOT Dean and Cass. Why the hell would Dean run and get Sam to show him the room he set up for himself and Cass? Even when Dean talks about relaxing and taking “we time,” it’s not with Cas. (Season 13, though I like the Dean Cave, it’s just not about Cas).
Again, like what you like, but these “wins” are lame at best.

I actually like s13 Castiel.
UNTIL:
Tumblr media
It was the worst possible violation.
Oh was it? Was it really, Cas? Was it a VIOLATION?? When you told Lucifer yes despite Sam saying no, and then every time Dean and Sam gave you an opportunity to kick Lucifer out you said, 'Nah, I'm'a keep him, thanks'???? Did WE really let Lucifer out? Or did YOU? 🤬

it frustrates me especially because the issue of consent never comes up re: Jimmy's corpse. Like, my read of canon is that Jimmy has been in heaven since Lucifer blew him up in Swan Song. So then did Chuck "gift" Jimmy's vessel to Castiel forevermore when he's resurrected? Are we to read Jimmy's sacrifice of his vessel for the sake of Claire...as an eternal consent?
it ever hit you out of nowhere that castiel is living in a dead guy's body and the show just does not care. it does not care. jimmy novak might as well not exist the moment he or claire is out of sight. cas stole a guy's body and his face and his life, and we can't ever talk about it or discuss it in detail because of how fucking horrifying it is that sam and dean's best friend just walks around in a dead guy suit. there's not even a human soul in there anymore. it's just a corpse. stone-cold body snatcher indeed.

Dean and Cas should have gotten to poke fun at Sam’s career choice more often. When Cas is annoyed, his response is always ‘ok law boy’ with an eye roll. Anytime Sam utters ‘so get this’, Dean and Cas rush to be the first to object. Dean threatens to sue Sam anytime he interrupts his alone time with Cas. The party city wig was actually one of those white British judge wigs.
