Mi sembra di intravedere nella struttura a propileo, riflessa nell'acqua, un'eco del tempietto ad Esculapio che domina il laghetto di villa Borghese. L'ipotesi mi pare confermata dal punto di vista dal quale si intravede l'edificio, molto simile a quella che si potrebbe avere tra i boschetti nei pressi del lago ancor oggi
va pur detto che Luca Postiglione nacque, visse, operò e morì a Napoli, dove non mancano esempi di tempietti e strutture di ispirazione classica, senza menzionare poi la Reggia di Caserta. Chissà!

The Royal Palace of Caserta
The beginning of the construction was in 1752, ordered by Carlos III of Spain, who also was King of Naples and Sicily. The Bourbon ruler never spent much time in the palace before his abdication in 1759. His son, Ferdinando, did occasionally live in Caserta throughout his life.

The palace was built as the residence of the house Bourbon - Two Sicilies, who ruled southern Italy during the 18th and 19th centuries. The construction started in 1752 and its main architect was Luigi Vanvitelli.
