The first Godfather movie is on Y*utube for free now! I rewatched it and it was just as great as I remember, so on to Part 2. But then I went on redd*t to check out some Godfather threads, and was disappointed to see so much discourse on who was hotter, Apollonia or Kay. And why there is so much hate against Kay, mainly because she is “too feminist” and “educated”, doesn’t “obey or support” Michael, and that she’s not as beautiful as Apollonia. All in all a disappointing experience. I didn’t see any male characters reduced to how handsome they were or were not : /
Let me help you there, then, Nonnie - of course Michael was destined to become the new Don - he is far prettier than Fredo, Sonny or Connie. And Vito was prettier than Don Fanucci all along! 😎
All this "Kay isn't good enough for Michael" discourse - he pursued her. Both in film 1 and 3. And the only time I felt Kay was weak, was when she said yes when he returned. Imagine, here is your war hero boyfriend who says he wants a clean American life... and then he shoots two people, leaves the country, ghosts you for a year, tells you he has become a career criminal and then proposes marriage. She should have said no, she really isn't open to this, but is this man, who she knows has people killed with no repercussions, a man she can refuse? As little as Vitelli could really refuse Michael's request to court Apollonia. The first thing Michael says to him is: "If you don't do what I want, I will kill you, and what I want is meet your daughter."
But alright maybe love isn't rational. Maybe they loved each other still. Kay really wasn't suited to mob life and that is on Michael. He knew who she was and it didn't matter, he wanted her. He had barely a clue who Apollonia was, her with no English and he with broken Italian. It didn't matter, he wanted her. Kay would have been perfect for Michael Corleone, aspiring senator, which is what he was when they met. But he didn't care Kay was not suited for who he was now. Why didn't he grieve Apollonia and find another mob wife? Why didn't he remarry after their divorce? Even when he proposes Kay is already reluctant and Michael pushes and pushes and pushes. She must represent something he actually does want, still.
But it's always the woman's fault when relationships don't work out, isn't it? No Kay wasn't a good mob wife. She didn't want to be one. She got out with her children - that is something Michael never managed. And Apollonia is something many men imagine they want, but when they have it, they get bored. I am not saying Apollonia wasn't intelligent, but if you get told to completely erase yourself into motherhood, which means you can't offer more than comfort and sex - that's not enough for a lot of people. And it's not like these women wouldn't have had more to offer but everytime they try they get shut down. And what you get then is Carmella, which may have suited Vito - that man who craved domesticity above all else - but even Sonny and Michael needed more input from her than she could give. So Michael fell for the total opposite. And maybe Apollonia was a fierce presence who might have become to Michael what Connie became, but we can't know. We don't know what she and Michael talked about. We know she was very beautiful and made Michael laugh, and she may or may not have had a slight independent streak. That's it.
I feel that they might have worked because they clicked emotionally and Apollonia knew the life. But Michael didn't look for someone like her again. He looked for Kay, again and again and again.
If she doesn't suit him - and no, she doesn't suit a Don - Michael should try to figure out what itch he was trying to scratch with her. Oh, and that obedience shit - in my experience, boys who go on about that are deeply insecure about something. They couldn't get a well trained dog to obey them, let alone a person!
All these men who think they're owed power while being unwilling to do what they'd have to to obtain it, always want women to fawn. Men who have what it takes to gain power, should they aspire to, usually spend time honing a skill. They rarely throw their weight around putting others down. No matter where they start, the bottom or the top - they put the work in. Michael did, Sonny did, and Fredo mostly complained. As much as we see anyway. If Fredo had done a good job with what he was given, or would have found himself an opportunity, he would have won Michael's respect. Not position, but respect, like Tom. Instead Fredo demanded respect for his position as an older brother.
That's the type of man who whines about having women obey him.

Hello! I sent the request to "The Godfather". It's okay if you take your time 💕 Important detail: I don't have much idea of the film's timeline, sorry.
I would like to ask Vito Corleone for something (I don't know if you do it for him). Where Carmella dies and Vito becomes a widower having to take care of four children. Vito marries again years later (Connie was about 4 years old), and he marries for love, with a woman younger than him (like, he was like 34 when he got married again and she was like 23). She took care of the children as if they were her own, just as she took care of Tom too. Furthermore, Vito and she had their own children together. Can you do something for this? About what her relationship would be like with Vito's children? What would her relationship with Tom be like? They would have a lot of respect for her and take her opinion seriously, okay?
If you don't feel good about it, that's okay! Let me know. Kisses
Of course!! I genuinely love Vito, I'd absolutely like making something with him. Will make it into a longer oneshot I think, I'll probably get it done and post it next week!!
Sending much love <3

Apollonia’s best friends are Sandra Corleone and Theresa Hagen. Being married to the mob can forge some very unique bonds. Apollonia loves Sandra’s provocative sense of humor and Theresa’s intelligence. Together, her two sister in-laws help Apollonia come out of her shell, and have more fun in life. When they’re out on the town, Michael secretly sends Al Neri and some other men to chaperone them and to only make their presence known if necessary.
Carmella sometimes takes on the role as the ‘mom friend’ of the group when she’s still alive.
Connie is also part of the group, but drifts apart from them in the years after Carlo’s death. It isn’t until Carmella’s death that Connie rejoins the group.
In later years, when the four women sit at a table together, they leave a fifth seat empty for Connie’s mother.
The only female of the family Apollonia doesn’t like is Deanna Dunn, an opinion shared by the rest of the Corleone Family.

Celebrating Your College Graduation with My Favorite Mobsters...
A/N: In honor of my college graduation here are some headcanons about how I think my favorite mobsters would react! :)
Sam Rothstein:
Tumblr media
Sam would be just so beyond proud of you! He couldn’t stop talking about what a big accomplishment this was and how proud of you he was.
He would be bragging to everybody about how smart his girl is and how she did it all on her own.
You would come walking into the casino to visit Sam one day and would have so many people stopping you to tell you congratulations on graduating because Sam made sure everyone knew.
When your ceremony rolled around Sam would be sitting front row and center with your family watching you walk across the stage and get your diploma, a proud grin on his face as he watched you.
As soon as it’s over and you find him and your family he’d wrap you up in a big hug and squeeze you tight, kissing you sweetly and telling you how proud he was of you.
Of course, being Sam, he’d also present you with a big bouquet of pink roses and a card full of cash.
He’d insist on throwing a big party to celebrate too with all your friends and family at the casino!
He’d be right there by your side all night, flirting with you and whispering in your ear that he was so glad not to have to share you with your assignments anymore.
He’d even take some time off from work to spend a few days with you after your graduation for uninterrupted one on one time.
He’d be so proud of you and so excited to celebrate you and your big accomplishment.
Michael Corleone:
Tumblr media
Michael is not a man of many words but he would have the proudest grin when you graduated college.
He’d wrap his arms around you and kiss you sweetly, stroking your cheek and telling you how incredibly proud he was of his smart girl.
He takes you over to the Corleone family house for a big dinner with his parents and siblings to celebrate.
As soon as you arrive Sonny sweeps you up in a hug so big your eyes almost pop out until Michael has to tell him not to break you.
Fredo and Connie give you softer, warm hugs after that and Vito kisses you on the cheek in congratulations.
Carmella makes your favorite meal for dinner and if you drink wine then they’d have your favorite wine as well.
And if you tried to say they didn’t have to go through the trouble Carmella would give you a scolding look and remind you that you’re family and they all want to celebrate your accomplishment.
And of course after dinner there’s cake and you’re presented with several graduation cards before Michael takes you back home to have you all to himself.
He says he can’t wait to have your complete, undivided attention without your studying and assignments pulling you away.
You jokingly tell him “That goes both ways, Mr. Corleone”
When you get home you and Michael spend the rest of the night together, cozy at home and he can’t stop reminding you how proud he is of you and how much he loves you.
Jimmy Conway:
Tumblr media
The second you announce you graduated Jimmy sweeps you up in his arms and spins you around.
He’s so excited and proud of you, he almost acts more excited than you that you’ve graduated.
He’s there front row and center at your graduation ceremony, cheering at the top of his lungs when your name gets called.
After the ceremony he finds you in the crowd of people and squeezes you tight, kissing you a little too hard for a public place but everyone is too busy with their own families to pay you two much attention.
He brings you flowers and slips a diamond bracelet on your wrist telling you how proud he is of his smart girl and how much he loves you.
You’d probably end up having a little party with Henry, Karen, Tommy, Paulie, and the rest of the usual crowd at Paulie’s.
Henry and Tommy both give you a kiss on the cheek and everyone gives you big hugs, telling you congratulations.
Jimmy spends the entire night by your side with his arm wrapped around your shoulders, grinning happily and bragging about you and how smart he thinks you are.
Vito Corleone:
Tumblr media
Vito would smile at you warmly and tell you that he knew you could do it.
Vito is by no means nonchalant about the whole thing but he does make sure you know he never doubted you for a second.
The two of you would celebrate with a very cozy and intimate dinner for two at home.
He’d make you a delicious dinner and the two of you would talk about your plans now that you were done with school.
Even if those plans were simply to get some extra sleep and to spend more time together that wasn’t interrupted by a need to study.
Vito would tell everyone he could about you graduating and how smart you are to have finished school.
Not in a bragging way of course but he still couldn’t keep the small, proud grin off his face when he spoke about it, squeezing your hand tightly.
Bonus!Max Cady:
Tumblr media
My, my, oh my Max would be so proud of his baby girl.
He wouldn’t miss your graduation for the world. He’d be right there, cheering louder than anyone else in the crowd when your name was called trying to make you blush.
Having been illiterate for most of his life, Max highly values education and thinks it’s amazing that you got your degree.
Anything you want to do to celebrate he would gladly do to make you happy and help you mark the occasion.
But of course after the ceremony was over he’d take you to the favorite ice cream shop for both of you, just the two of you.
And afterwards when he gets you home he’d show you EXACTLY how proud he is of you and how much he loves you.
He couldn’t wait to have you all to himself after you were done with school.

pls part 3 of Victoria finding about Apollonia's baby. Carmella putting her son on his place and his thoughts upon hearing their conversation. maybe you could include a little emotional Michael talking about his time in Sicily and opening up to Victoria abt how it affected him and that he wanted to bury it. that's why he kept it from her but he when he first met he it didn't matter no more cause now it was gonna be only hers and their future kids and some heartwarming bonding with Victoria seeing this side of her husband for the first time
I definitely think a part 3 of all of this is needed too!! 🥺💔 One of Victoria’s love languages is definitely reassurance amidst affection and many other things. Not to mention, Michael’s past aside, she deserves his honesty and his apology for all of this. 😭💔
‘I love Michael, and that’s why it hurts. That’s the only reason why this hurts; because I care, because I’d never lie or hold back anything from him. Do I not deserve closure…?’
Carmela’s always looked to mend the heart when it comes to emotional pain, especially between two lovers and family.
Instead of coaxing you to go talk to Michael right away or head to the family estate for dinner, Carmela stayed right by your side and listened to you pour out your heart to her about everything until you physically couldn’t cry anymore.
What she sees in you is her daughter-in-law, her youngest son’s wife, a new, loving mother, and a hopeless romantic whose very much in love with her husband.
To Mama Corleone, Connie, Sandra, and the others if they knew—you have all the right in the world to cry and express your anger.
After all, you’ve been lied to again, you’ve been put in a spot where you’ve become embarrassed to have your other family members know things about your husband that’s been withheld from you, and Michael has yet to approach you for closure.
Still, you’re not one to expect or want a pity party from anyone. Mama Corleone’s warm and sympathy feels loving and caring—one you appreciate and always will, but the last thing you want is Connie, Sandra and the others bursting in here to ‘cheer you up’ or ask what happened.
You’d rather cry in peace, be alone with your thoughts for a while, relax, and think it all through first.
Since the nature of what happened is so personal, private and between Michael and you, there’s nothing inside you that makes you want to confide this to someone else other than Mama Corleone.
Carmela had Esther bring up a tray of dinner for you into the nursery. She didn’t make you get up and go anywhere you didn’t want to go and she didn’t stop you from crying either.
Instead, she stayed by your side until you were finished with  your dinner and dried off your tears, just wishing to spend some time with your babies and get your mind off of things.
Esther began to make conversation with you about the twins which happily distracted you enough, and that was when Carmela made an excuse to go back to the family estate and see to her duties when in reality she was going straight to have a much needed word with Michael.
What you didn’t know was that Esther told Carmela that Michael was in the private study in the family estate and that she was going to see him first thing.
When Carmela entered the family estate, it was more than obvious to her based on the direction that the scent of Michael’s cologne was leading to told her that her son was in the private study even if neither her or Esther knew where Michael was.
Carmela stood by the doorway to the grand study, smoothening out her dress as she noticed Michael sitting by the fireplace, flipping through two books while holding a newly lit cigarette between his fingers.
Whether Michael was avoiding approaching you so soon after the argument or distracting himself as well to ignore the situation was beyond the care of Carmela; her intentions in talking to Michael now were different.
Michael noticed his mother standing by the doorway without even raising his eyes off of his books.
Carmela neither remained expectant or frustrated, but rather she walked inside as if she had business in the study as well, so Michael paid his mother no mind, keeping busy until she took a seat in the armchair next to his.
“Ma.” Michael murmured back in acknowledgement, now raising his eyes up from the last sentence he was on but not entirely expecting the grievously disappointed look in Carmela’s eyes.
“I was going to suggest you return back to your estate to console your wife whose been crying to me for the past hour and a half, but I think damage control is out of your grasp for today.” Was the first thing Carmela told her son the moment they made eye contact with one another.
Michael stared at his mother, unmoved by her words but he didn’t interrupt when she continued to speak.
“Michael,” Carmela clasped her hands together on her lap. “Your wife and your children are the only people on this earth who truly deserve your honesty. You can exclude the rest of us out of it, but there’s no excuse or reason for you to lie to Victoria. She’s barely been your wife for a year and yet she’s crying in the nursery, skipped two meals, puffy eyed and her face bright red from crying. What’s your justification for leaving her like that?”
“I didn’t ‘leave’ Victoria like that, Ma.” Michael answered sternly, slowly beginning to close the book on his lap. “I saw her, I was up there before you were. She was sleeping in the nursery, yes, but I didn’t leave her like that.”
“Did you apologize to her?” Carmela ignores Michael’s statement, raising her brows. “Did you console her? Embrace her? Calm her down? Did you notice she hadn’t eaten a thing all day—”
“Ma.” Michael cuts in, his tone of voice sharpening. “What did you want me to do, shake her awake? You don’t know my wife as well as you think you do, when Victoria gets—”
“I don’t want to hear it, Michael.” Carmela shakes her head, “and yes. I. Do. I’m a woman too, I know exactly how she feels and I knew before she even told me. I’m disappointed in you, Michael. ‘When Victoria gets like that’, you put her in the same position more than once? That is not what a good husband would do.”
“It was never my intention, nor will it ever be to hurt Victoria.” Michael reaffirmed. “I would never do so, not on purpose. She insisted to know upon this—something I don’t want to share or go into—”
“But something you told everyone else except your wife.” Carmela isn’t the least bit amused by her son’s antics. “If it was truly something you wished to forget and never speak of, none of us would have known. Perhaps not even me or your father. When you do things in secret, Michael, such as marry in Sicily without informing your family, then return a widower and tell some, but not all, it’s perfectly normal for those people you haven’t told—in this case, Victoria—to start asking questions about why you’re lying to her.”
“I’m not lying to her. I never have.” Michael knit his brows, lying again. “I simply didn’t want to tell her—”
“Don’t lie to me, please.” Carmela sighed. “I’m not clueless, Michael. I know everything. She confided in me the first time this situation came up and now again too. You lied to her, especially this time around. Victoria isn’t upset with you that you married Apollonia, and she isn’t upset with you that you got her pregnant either. Victoria understands more than anyone back then you were a different person, you were in hiding and couldn’t come back home to us. Victoria can’t blame you, judge you, or become jealous when she wasn’t in your life back then. You know this. You know this, yet you still lie to her—you hold things back from her. I did not raise you or any of your brothers to be like this. What’s your excuse?”
Michael paused for a moment, taking in the weight of his mother’s words. “It was not important to me. It still isn’t. Like you said, it’s in my past and that hasn’t changed. I don’t want to revisit it because it’s useless, it serves me no purpose.”
“And if Victoria repeated these very words to you upon confronting her about a previous marriage and unborn child she had years ago, would you let it go? Would you not ask questions?” Carmela crossed her arms.
“No.” Michael answered truthfully.
“The answer is right in front of you.” Carmela shook her head. “I’m very disappointed in you, Michael. You let this spiral out of control. Your own wife just wanted you to open up to her. She wanted to get to know you better. You claim you know Victoria better than me, which is not an entire lie, but you don’t know this? Is there something you need to get off your chest about what happened in Sicily? Because you avoid any and every conversation about it like it’s a curse.”
“If it was more than what I said, I would have already mentioned it.” Michael frowned. “This may be hard for any of you to believe, but I don’t care about Sicily or what happened there. I haven’t for a long time. The last thing I wanted was to tell my new wife about my previous marriage, does that seem right to you?”
“But that’s not what she asked, is it?” Carmela asked. “She didn’t ask you about your life with Apollonia or the details of your marriage. She wanted to know what happened. Victoria knows the events that took place there changed you, Michael. Victoria’s not married to the same man Apollonia was married to.”
Carmela began to rise from her seat. “Victoria deserves better than this, Michael. Don’t push away your wife, the mother of your children. Don’t let petty lies build up and drive a rift between the two of you, because let me tell you something.” She looked down at her son, scolding Michael. “You need to deserve a woman like Victoria. She’s not clay that can be molded around in your hands, Michael. I see the two of you are a match made in heaven considering everything you have in common, the love I see you two give each other, but instead she’s crying her eyes out upstairs because her husband lied to her, ignored her, and didn’t apologize to her. If I hear something like this again, this time your father can speak to you and teach you what it’s like to be a loving, honest father because this kind of behaviour is unacceptable and I refuse to see my daughter-in-law cry.”
Without another word, Carmela turned on her heel and began to exit the study. Right before she stepped out of the doorway, she said, “I’m having her come down here to talk to you,” then walked off.
Michael took a deep breath and rubbed his temples gingerly out of stress. He stared down at the books in his lap and could no longer remember why he took them out in the first place—preoccupied with the thought of you.
‘She’s right.’ Michael’s never been one to ignore or push aside his mother’s words. Everything Carmela said to him was true.
Michael would have to work on opening up, being more transparent and honest with you.
He’s a married man now with two small babies, he can’t continue on in his marriage the way he maintained a casual, sexual relationship with Kay when he returned from Sicily and Michael can’t let the events that hardened his heart break you and him apart either.
Michael was entirely to blame and even his mother pointed it out to him.
Only a few minutes passed until Michael raised his head up again to see you shyly standing by the doorway; your face barely illuminated by the dim lighting in the study.
“Victoria,” Michael murmured, trying to get a good look at you half shrouded in the darkness.
Michael set aside his books and extended his hand to you as you slowly approached him.
Michael patiently waited until you stood face to face with him and placed your hand in his, feeling your heart swell as Michael gently squeezed your hand and coaxed you to sit with him in his arms.
You sniffled quietly, having not said a word the entire time as Michael pulled you up on his lap.
Michael wasn’t expecting you to say anything; your silence was comforting to him enough now that you were actually there to see him.
Michael brushed a curtain of your hair behind your ear and pressed tiny, loving kisses over your forehead.
You closed your eyes and reveled in the affection from Michael you’d been yearning for the past two hours, breathing softly as your husband rubbed his hands up and down your arms to console you.
Michael’s warm lips kissed over your skin, his hands stroked through your hair and he held you tightly and lovingly in his arms; a few minutes passed with quiet affection like this.
“I’m sorry.” Michael finally spoke out to you—a genuine apology rarely made on his behalf to anyone, but he knew he would even before Carmela came to talk to him. “I’m sorry about all of this baby, and before. I’m sorry.”
You peeked up at Michael shyly, giving a nod, but noticed a frown had grown on his lips.
“Don’t forgive me so soon, darling.” Michael shook his head and spoke in an ushered, soft tone. “Let me prove it to you, let me tell you everything first, and then you can decide for yourself. You deserve this…” Michael laced a hand with you before kissing over your knuckles.
“Okay,” you breathed out quietly—marking the first time you spoke back to Michael.
“Victoria, there isn’t a thing I wouldn’t do in this world if somebody hurt you or made you cry, so it kills me to see I’ve upset you like this myself. I’m not going to rely on apologies to fix this, so I’m going to tell you everything from start to finish—things I haven’t even told my mother or father because you’re the only one who deserves to know, and I want to open up to you the way you do to me.”
You felt your heart beginning to race in your chest as you nodded, curled up against Michael’s chest and listening to his heartbeat as he began to explain to you.
“I fled to Sicily in 1946.” Michael began. “I know your family heard the news back then—the truth of why I left. I was twenty-six at the time. My father had hired two bodyguards to protect me in Sicily until it was time for me to return back to New York, and from the lack of communication and confidence my father had back then, the so-called date of my return seemed non-existent. My bodyguards were two men named Fabrizio and Calo—not much older than me, mobster wannabees who roamed the Sicilian countryside armed.”
“You were friends with them?” You asked, quietly.
“No, never.” Michael shook his head. “I didn’t care to be because in truth, I didn’t trust them. I could only trust them in the sense they knew I was the ‘son of a bigshot’, a Don. But everything else about me? I kept it from them on purpose. I spent the next four months with them, exploring Sicily, meeting locals, trying to make a life for myself there. During that fourth month…” Michael began to grow uncomfortable as he approached the topic of Apollonia. “I met Apollonia.”
“Did they introduce you to her?”
“No.” Michael answered you. “It was completely random, by chance. We had been walking around the outskirts of Corleone, by a fruit orchard. We saw a group of women there when we stopped to take a water break, and there she was in front of me. She was the closest to me in terms of physical distance, and we made eye contact with each other.”
You bit down on the corner of your lip, unable to help yourself from growing jealous at the mention of that.
“Calo and Fabrizio had their own lewd comments they made about the women there, not just her, but they noticed me staring. To be fair, Apollonia had noticed me looking at her first. I learned beforehand that in Corleone, everyone knew everyone, so I wasn’t surprised to see her look at me in confusion. I was a new face in the countryside.” Michael omits being teased about being hit by a ‘thunderbolt’, knowing it adds nothing useful to the story.
“I found her very attractive. I had been alone in Corleone for four months, left without properly saying goodbye to Kay but rumors were going around in New York that I was a murderer and I knew Kay wouldn’t want anything to do with me after that. My intentions weren’t to let go of Kay or ‘move on’, per say, but those four months made me. I didn’t know who this Apollonia girl was and didn’t learn her name until many days later, but she was the only woman I saw in Sicily that close, who looked back at me.”
Michael continues. “I was very attracted to her, especially considering the circumstances. In all honesty, Victoria,” Michael runs his hands through your hair softly, “it was pure, sexual lust. Even four months later, the traditionalism and the custom of romance and sex made no sense to me. All sense of pre-marital attraction was taboo—forbidden. I was beginning to grow bored. If that wasn’t an obstacle, per say, to someone like me who never grew up with those ideals or even saw them here, I would have approached her myself. Just for sex.”
Michael makes eye contact with you. “Because that’s what I wanted. I want her, I wanted to have sex with her, and marriage was not on my mind. I would have kept a sexual relationship with her until I left or otherwise, but I couldn’t even talk to this girl without the concept of marriage brought up to her father first, so I did.”
“I see.”
“I accidentally met her father at the café he ran. When Fabrizio and Calo began to describe to him how beautiful his daughter was in a less appropriate fashion, he grew very upset with us. I told him who I was, why I was there, and what I wanted. I threatened him by saying his daughter would lose a father, or she would gain a husband.”
“But then…” You gaze up at Michael, “he would have given you his daughter’s hand in marriage out of fear of his life and because of your reputation and money?”
“There’s no other reasoning.” Michael nods at you. “It was that simple, he happily gave in. He told me his daughter’s name and then I waited a week to see her after church on Sunday. I went everywhere and did anything they asked me to just to get close to her. She never spoke a word to me. She was very shy, nodding, staring, giggling quietly. Very, very shy. I already knew this ‘marriage’ would be very different from say…ours, or if I had married Kay, for example. But I had begun to realize I grew very serious about her in the meanwhile and with her parents and brothers getting to know me day by day as the wedding was planned, I began to accept that I would soon have the duties of a husband to this woman, and it could not start and end at sex. We married three weeks later. I was responsible for her but she didn’t break out of that shyness even married and intimate with me. I didn’t have a problem with that. At the time I wasn’t thinking of children either. Actually, I grew impatient because I had expected my father to reach out to me again. I would have brought her to the United States…” Michael pursed his lips and ran his fingers over your knuckles gently.
“During the second month of our marriage with no word from father and to no surprise from both of us, Apollonia told me she was pregnant. She was barely a month pregnant when we had to pack and leave Corleone for our safety since Barzini and Tattaglia’s spies had discovered our location after our public wedding. Calo packed our things and Fabrizio told Apollonia to get ready.” Michael’s eyes harden.
“I had been teaching her how to drive for the past few weeks, and she was picking up on a little bit of English. She began to open up then, more excited, giddy, wanting to drive around and learn more from me, so she was already in the front seat before I was. I came down, saw Calo put our bags in the trunk, but then I made eye contact with Fabrizio who was fleeing for some reason from the villa and it hit me then that something was about to happen. It was too late. I called out for Apollonia not to step on the gas or do anything in the car as Calo also began to run for his life away from the vehicle, but she did, and she triggered the bomb inside. I witnessed the explosion happen right in front of me.”
Michael sighs deeply. “I saw chunks of Apollonia’s body flying with shrapnel out of the car. I smelt burnt flesh and rubber. The impact hit me just seconds after before I could realize what happened, and I was out for two weeks in a catatonic state. That was it. She was accidentally killed when the car bomb was  meant for me.”
“And…” You pouted at Michael, “what about Fabrizio and Calo?”
“Calo died in the explosion.” Michael told you. “And of course, Fabrizio got away… He was sponsored by the Barzini family to move to New York around the same time you and I made the move here to Nevada. Neri killed him the same way he tried to kill me—a car bomb. It took a week for his remains to be scrapped off of the asphalt. That was that.”
“Michael…” You held his hand up to your chest so he can feel your heartbeat, yet again feeling your eyes prickle with tears. “I’m so sorry you had to go through any of this, baby, but… But why didn’t you t-tell me before? Why did it come to this?”
“Because I don’t care anymore, Victoria.” Michael held both of your hands tightly. “I didn’t care after I returned to the United States and I don’t care now. It was over, nothing could change what happened and I left my old life behind. It changed me forever and I had no choice but to accept it. What I didn’t want to do was linger over everything for the rest of my life, so I pushed it aside. It’s not relevant to me anymore. I’m not the same man I was back then, that’s why I didn’t tell you. I didn’t want you mixed up in my past when you’re my future. It didn’t and doesn’t matter, Victoria.”
Michael looked you in the eye, confessing. “My future is with you and our children and nothing will change that or take it away from me now. There isn’t a piece of me left back there that you don’t have. I love you. I love you so much, I only love you and I should not have kept this from you or lied to you—fought with you about it twice, let alone once. You can forgive me, but I’m not going to forgive myself for making you cry like this.”
“Stop,” you whimpered and let go of Michael’s hands, wrapping them around his shoulder. “D-don’t say things like that, Michael. It wasn’t your intention—”
“I know it wasn’t.” Michael leaned down and rested his forehead against yours. “But how could you have known? I hate talking about my past because people assume I’m still there—that I care, when the only thing I care about is you,” he caressed your face with the back of his hand, “and our babies. I want to talk about you, and our future together. I want to talk about our growing family, the things we’ll do with one another and what we’ll experience. There is no ‘other woman’, Victoria, there’s only you.”
You couldn’t help but smile shyly at that, looking into your husband’s eyes with hope and warmth—completely reassured. “Are you going to tell me those things without kissing me?”
“I’d never forget.” You could have sworn to yourself you saw a ghost of a smile over Michael’s lips just before he pressed his over yours, sealing a deep and loving kiss.
“You know I love you,” Michael spoke after breaking the kiss only to give you another one. “And I have no issue proving it to you again and again. Please tell me if there’s anything else you want to know.”
“No, baby. No.” You shook your head, cupping Michael’s face in your hands. “I know how hard it is for you to open up, especially about your past now. Really, I didn’t know how difficult it was for you, baby. I wouldn’t have been so pushy—“
“Don’t be ridiculous.” Michael murmured over your lips. “I’m at fault here, not you.”
“Still,” you whined quietly. “It doesn’t change my perspective on you at all. I’m still and always will be utterly in love with you and you alone, Michael Corleone. And that piece of your past you chose to share with me stays between us. I just want to understand you, darling.”
“You understand and know me better than anyone else.” Michael plants a kiss over your forehead. “Because you’re all I know and all I want to know.”

I like to think the Corleone Mall has a colony of cats. We know they had the gray cat but they also had a cat named Dolce. We figure out that fact in The Family Corleone Novel by Edward Falco. When they went to go look at the Mall as it was being built Carmella snuck Dolce into a picnic basket and brought her with them.
That is the cutest thing ever! I will admit I'm a poser and haven't read The Family Corleone yet but this is the mental image your ask put in my head. Hot wife gibson girl (four lovely children not pictured)

Okay this might not be a comfortable subject matter for you to write and if so that's okay<3 I just like the way you write between the Corleone siblings and was wondering if you could do a story where Connie realizes that Michael had an eating disorder and she tells him that she cares about him and will be there for him and that she wants to see him healthy?
Thank you so much for the compliment! This turned out longer than I thought it would be, and I based it off of my own experiences with having an ED. It's a subject that I'm comfortable writing about, and honestly this is such a sweet prompt. There's actually so much more that I wanted to add, but I lacked the time and means. If you need to talk about anything or you're struggling, then I'm always here to talk, if you're not comfortable here then you can always DM me.
Connie sat beside Michael at dinner, watching him from the corner of her eye. It was the fourth day in a row she had noticed, and there was still something… off. But she suspected it had been going on for much longer than four days. He would take a very small serving at the beginning of the meal, mostly salad, and barely eat any of it. He just seemed to move the food around his plate. And he was especially irritable when he was confronted about the subject. Connie nudged her older brother. “Is that all you're eating?”
Michael ignored her.
“Mikey!” Connie jabbed playfully, “I know you can hear me.”
Michael kept looking down, pretending not to hear Connie.
Carmella looked up. “Is everyone okay? Michael? Connie?”
Michael looked up silently, nodding quickly. Connie sighed.
“Yes, Mama.”
Connie knocked quickly on the open door of Michael’s room. Barely waiting for him to look up, she walked inside, sitting beside him on his bed. His nose was buried in a book, still pretending that he didn’t see her.
“So, continuing our conversation from earlier-”
“Leave me alone, Connie.”
“Well you’re in a bad mood.”
“So leave me alone.” Michael shot back.
Connie sighed, her face becoming serious. “I’m worried about you, Michael. I’ve been watching you these last few days, and I don’t think you’re eating enough. Are you okay?”
Michael shrugged, not looking up from his book. “I’m just not hungry…  You don't understand, okay? You can’t get me to eat if I’m not hungry. I can’t help it.”
Connie frowned, unconvinced. She knew that it was a lie- of course he was hungry. She saw the way he would eye food at the dinner table, before returning back to his own measly portion. But she knew he would deny it. “Michael, don’t fight me, I know you’re hungry. It’s not healthy to starve yourself, and you don’t deserve to put yourself through this.”
Michael’s eyes widened. Before he could say anything else, Connie took his hand in hers. “I know that it doesn’t seem like it, but if you keep doing this, Mikey… you’re going to die.”
Michael looked down at her, nodding slowly. He pressed his lips together, gulping nervously as her words settled over him.
“I want you to be healthy, Michael, I want you to be alive. And that means eating enough and taking care of yourself, even if it’s hard. Please, do it for me? And the family?”
“Okay… I don’t know if I can. But I can try. I want to try- for you.” His voice broke. Tears were beginning to brim in Michael’s eyes. He turned aside and sniffled, trying to fight the lump in his throat.
Connie wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him into a comforting hug. “I know it seems hard- but I need you to be healthy, okay? If you ever need help, you can come to me. I’ll be here for you. No matter what.”

𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: reader's gender pointing to female but no specific pronouns were used
The Corleone family is always so welcoming, specially when it come to the love interest of their children. They want to cause a good impression while getting to know you.
You were timid at the beginning, not knowing exactly what to expect since their lifestyle was very distinct from yours and you were a total stranger. Michael was reassuring when you shared those insecurities with him. You had nothing to fear since they would welcome you naturally as part of the family.
You arrived before lunch time, a table was set on their backyard so everyone could enjoy the pacific view. Michael introduced you to the family, having previously told them about your visit. However, he didn't say much about the two of you, answering any of their questions curtly, specially Sonny's. It was during your visit that the questions would pop up and you were to answer to satisfy their curiosity and ease their worries.
Don Corleone asked about your family and some of your background to know the type of person you are. Overall, he was pleased. You seemed to be a good match to his youngest son and he trusted his son's choices.
Sonny teased his brother the entire lunch, earning him some scoldings from Mama Corleone as she agreed the oldest sibling should be supportive of the youngest ones, not mocking. He mostly asked if you two met in college and about his brother's life there, apparently holding some grudge of his academic life, you noted.
Tom was polite from the beginning, not exactly welcoming you to the family since Michael and you had no plans of marrying soon, but he was cordial. He mostly observed your interactions with everyone else before leaving to attend to some matters. He got the impression that Michael only told you the necessary about his family as it wasn't the right time to approach the subject with you.
Carmella noticed your timidity and was determined to make you loosen up in your next visit. Connie, on the other hand, was more interested on talking about places she had visited and suggesting places for your next trip, be it a restaurant in the neighbourhood or a small city in Italy.
Fredo was the quiet one and usually talked about things that were familiar and kin to him, hoping you could bond over something. He was kind and gentle during the time you talked and his presence was comforting in contrast to the overwhelming and strong energy of the other siblings.
The lunch had many traditional italian dishes and you felt lucky for the opportunity to try them all. While you were eating, Michael held your hand under the table and stole glances from you with his soft gaze. You also felt lucky for having such sweet boyfriend and a cozy reception from his family.
After lunch, some siblings excused themselves to do other things. Don Corleone stayed for a bit until he had matters to take care of and assured you you could feel at home.
Michael took you for a walk around the property and you talked about the first impressions you've had of his family. You joked a little to tease him and see his smile. Happiness filled your heart and you could not feel it anywhere else but beside him.
Michael gave you a chast but sincere kiss to which you readily reciprocated. The look in his eyes told you everything you needed to know about his feelings for you if there was any doubt.
On your way back to the house, you talked dreamily of plans for the future to which Michael listened with attention. He also had many plans for you, for this relationship. You just have to stay close long enough to make it all come true!

The Godfather --Disney Theme Songs
Tumblr media
Michael Corleone: Part of Your World –Little Mermaid
Michael dreams about living life as a “normal” person…a non-gangster.  He longs to be part of the non-mafia world.
Tumblr media
Fredo Corleone: I’m Still Here –Treasure Island
He’s forgotten by his family, and just wants to be noticed.
Tumblr media
Sonny Corleone: I just Can’t Wait to Be King –Lion King
It’s a song that’s full of energy, as is Sonny, and he so badly wants to work in the Family Business, like Simba wants to be king.
Tumblr media
Tom Hagen: Best of Friends –Fox and the Hound
It’s unheard of for a non-Sicilian to become so tightly involved with the Mafia, yet Tom does, and is deeply loyal to his family, despite it being so odd. (Just like Copper and Tod –I loved them so much as a kid.)
Tumblr media
Connie Corleone: A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes –Cinderella
Connie’s a romantic and she longs for something different from her current life.
Tumblr media
Vito: We are One –Lion King II
The song is just so poetic and insightful, and I could honestly see Vito saying such things to his family.
Tumblr media
Carmella: God Help the Outcast –Hunch Back of Notre Dame
The idea came from the fact that she goes to church every morning to say Mass for her husband’s (and probably her sons’) soul.
Tumblr media
Apollonia: Something There –Beauty and the Beast
I can just imagine Michael slowly growing on Apollonia, going from strange American with disfigured face to the love of her lie, kind of like Belle and the Beast.
Tumblr media
Kay: When She Loved Me—Toy Story II
Instead of “she” change it to “he”.  Michael used to love her, and was open and honest.  Then he went to Sicily and came home a changed man. Kay is reminiscent about the past.
Tumblr media
     Sollozzo: Be Prepared –Lion King
It’s cliché, but it’s just the perfect bad guy song. 😊

Vito sat in his study window, with his cigar and his drink, until Carmella came to the door and knocked once before opening it. When she saw Vito in the window seat, she sat alongside him. She didn’t say anything. She looked at his face, and then took his hand in hers and rubbed his fingers the way he liked, kneading the joints and knuckles one by one as the last of the daylight faded...
