ā.Ė į”£š© ā ā CANON FACTS ABOUT PIPPIN (idk if its "canon" or "cannon" but anyway-) according to the books !!
+ reblog if you have things to add, i probably missed some infos :3
splashes water absolutely everywhere when he takes a bath + likes to sing while he does so (fotr, book 1, chap. 5)
in lothlorien, the fellowship had to cross a very complicated bridge (i don't remember what it was exactly, i think it was made of ropes or smth). he was the only one of the hobbits who managed it very well because "he was sure-footed" (fotr, book 2, chap. 6)
when he was kidnapped with Merry, the orcs whipped them to make them run + a plan was hatched to make orcs believe they had the Ring (he was imitating Gollum) + he had been wounded at his arm + when they managed to escape from them, he was the one who made decisions etc, he was the most lucid (ttt, book 1, chap. 2)
when he and Merry first arrived in Fangorn, it reminded him of a place in Tuckborough, the "Took House", where "the furniture hadn't been moved for generations" (because it was very stuffy and dark). nothing in this place mentionned "changed in a century, when the Old Took died" (ttt, book 3, chap. 3)
when they traveled with Treebeard, he tried to count Ent's steps but quickly lost track (ttt, book 3, chap. 3)
his first impression of Theoden King was that he was a "good old man, very polite" (ttt, book 3, chap. 8)
when he saw Gandalf for the first time since his "death" in Fangorn, the first thing the wizard told him was "get up, you fool of a Took ! where is Treebard, for god's sake ? i need to see him, quick !" (ttt, book 3, chap. 9)
one of the reasons he wanted to look in the Palantir was that he was frustrated that Gandalf took it from him without telling him anything, whithout any explanations or informations, even though "he was the one who picked it up." he talks abt it with Merry just before he looks into it (ttt, book 3, chap. 11)
when he looked into the Palantir and "talked" with Sauron, he felt as if he was being "pierced with knives" (ttt, book 3, chap. 11)
at Minas Tirith, he spent most of his days with Beregond (a knight of Gondor) and his son Bergil (rotk, book 1, chap. 1)
his father cultivates some lands around Whitwell, its near Tuckborough (rotk, book 1, chap. 1)
in march he said he was "almost 29", then his bday is probably in april (rotk, book 1, chap. 1)
he's smaller than a 10yo boy (Bergil is 5' and he's around 4') lol (book 1, chap. 1)
he had been smashed by a troll during the battle of the black gate. its Gimli who saved him. he recovered only one week later (which is a bit odd. wdym a troll fell on him and one week later he walks around like nothing happens) (rotk, book 5, chap. 10 + book 6, chap. 4)
just after the war, at the Cormallen fields, him and Merry were serving the kings during the feast (rotk, book 6, chap. 4)
when the hobbits came back to the Shire, Saruman had taken possession of their lands so there was a war, and it was Merry and Pippin who fought the most and lead the others (rotk, book 6, chap. 8)
he lived for some years with Merry in Crickhollow. they were very, very popular bc of their swords and height and all (i can understand, they are sexy af), some called them of "royal" (rotk, book 6, chap. 9)
<3
PS : im sorry guys, my lotr books are in french, then all the quotes i wrote are note exactly the same as the original bc i translated it !!
kiss on ur hairy feet :3

Something I found surprising when revisiting the prequel trilogy is how much the clones aren't full characters in the movies. They're props. They're devices. The films give them the same weight and attention as they give the Separatist droids, really. The only two clone troopers I can easily name off the top of my head who get "named" in any way are Oddball and Cody, who are both just barely in "Revenge of the Sith", and interchangeable in their roles with any other background clone.
It's interesting when held up against "The Clone Wars" and other extension material, which had the time and inclination to say more directly, "Hey, these are people and what's happening to them is wrong." Like, obviously what's happening in Ep2&3 is wrong, the audience can draw that conclusion on their own, growing people as cannon fodder is a clear part of the greater tragedy if you take about five seconds to think about the situation here. Even without the element of the entire war being constructed and controlled by the main villain, the clones are a tragedy.
But, oh man, the movies themselves don't really care to focus on that. It's SUCH a background element. I had a "oh, yeah, Order 66 being programmed into a control chip was a later addition to / clarification of canon" moment while watching, because as far as Ep3 actually shows us (as was the initial intention by some, I know), Cody apparently knew the entire time that he might be called to fire on Obi-Wan Kenobi and was just waiting on the call. The "homogenous evil army" trope is... very much present and even more identical than usual here.
By the films alone, you can easily assume that the clone troopers have no love for any of the Jedi (whom we're meant to believe are relatively decent people) for a variety of reasons. Their upbringing and training on Kamino was presumably cold and brutal. They're (possibly enslaved) soldiers in an even more brutal war. This army is offered no development or individuality that makes the appalling Jedi Temple massacre out of character for any of them.
But when the various Clone Wars shows first turned the clones into individual characters and even protagonists, many of whom are shown to be good people and become friendly with the Jedi through years of teamwork in life-or-death situations, Order 66 became weird. "Wait, why would the majority of clones (all the clones we see in the movies, at least) just go along with this? What went wrong here?"
I get why TCW and SW canon settled on the control chips option and I find it interesting enough. The tragedy of it all makes me want to lie facedown on the floor. Darth Sidious is really winning at sheer evilness here.
On the other hand, there are some really fun and interesting "Order 66 was taught, not programmed" AUs to revisit here. Especially when some of the other (Legends canon now) contingency orders include what to do if the Supreme Chancellor is incapacitated or declared unfit, or even getting rid of the Supreme Chancellor and assuming control by lethal force if necessary. Presumably these orders existed as a back-up in case Palpatine wasn't elected to the seat in time for the war or didn't manage to get rid of term limits and was replaced as Chancellor at any point.
That really sounds like Palpatine's evil army of ruthless Jedi-Killers (unchipped) could have easily backfired on him if they'd ever decided all of these non-clones were unfit and organized to take power for themselves. I love any scenario where Palpatine's arrogant and overly complicated plans get him in trouble. The "homogenous evil army" often gets treated as a mindless mob, but while the clones may have some degree of emotional suppression, they're clearly very capable and not unintelligent, and they're not given many (if any) reasons to be loyal to the Republic. And it is FUNNY to imagine any Dark Lord's created army deciding that he fucking sucks at war (there's obviously a leak, why the FUCK are they losing so much ground to fucking droids) and they're overthrowing him for better benefits, so that they can create and run a more efficient Evil Empire themselves.
You could make this angsty as hell or a comedy, or both. I'm imagining the clones at the eleventh hour murdering Chancellor Palpatine with such brutal efficiency that it feels like its own kind of prejudice. And he gets revealed as a Sith Lord in the process (this was taken into account as a potential problem when planning the assassination), so there's an initial moment of: "I can't believe it! He was the Sith Lord in the Senate all along! How did you know?"
Cody: "Didn't."
Obi-Wan: "...Pardon?"
Cody: "This is a coup, sir."
Like, if we're going by what's shown in the movies alone, there's a clear Emperor Cody AU to be had here. Which can be played as a temporary (years long) measure to reinstall a Republic with proper checks and balances, while a bemused Jedi Order and Senate are held hostage, or the First Galactic Empire is established as per canon just with the clones running it and reaping the benefits. I'm currently enjoying thinking about the latter scenario as a dark comedy, in which Future Emperor Cody (or the clone of your choice) has to negotiate in his spare time with the various demands of his fellow clones. (Who are, let us remember due to the horror that is the accelerated aging, a bunch of teenagers at the oldest here.)
Rex: "I want Tatooine."
Cody: "The whole planet?"
Rex: "Yeah."
Cody: "It's a shithole."
Rex: "Yeah, but it'll make Skywalker so kriffing mad, so I'm calling dibs."
Cody: "Noted."
And if you want to write shipfic, there's always the AU of various Evil Army Clones meeting their love interest and then going, "Not evil anymore! Sorry, guys." Which could be angsty or another dark-ish comedy.
Cody @ the clone commander group chat: "WE'RE NOT GIVING UP ON THE 3-YEAR IMPERIAL COUP PLAN JUST BECAUSE YOU HORNY ASSHOLES WANT TO FUCK JEDI!!! STOP TALKING ABOUT THE POWER OF LOVE!!! STOP IT!!!"

Hi I have concept questions rate the yandere Greek gods, and who is most likely out of them with sexually assault or rape reader any gender I donāt know it came in my mind after I found out that Ares has never raped a women or man in my opinion that is a really shocking thing coming from the god of war I mean when comes to gods itās a pretty good standard because I have read about so many sexual assaults in Greek mythology. for example obviously, Zeus is most likely going to force himself on reader he has done it many times and then the other one is Poseidon he did it with medusa if I remember correctly, so he is most likely to do it, and he has done it with other people and then Eros I donāt know why I just think he would do it and Apollo would do it and I actually thought Ares would would also sexually assault reader, but after finding out that he never did with anyone I donāt he would force himself on reader since he has never done it in Cannon fun fact, one of the sons of Poseidon raped his daughter and when Ares found out, he was furious and killed Poseidon son. Hades, this is another god I think he would not force himself on reader. But Iām not sure about Dionysus maybe he would and Hephaestus is another god who would force himself because he did it with Athena if I remember correctly. Aphrodite, maybe you would do it too. Hermes is another god I think he would do it too. What do you think can you Frank them from? Who is most likely to do it to who is least likely to do it and never do it at all.
tw: talk about rape/sexual harassment.
I would say the same ones you mentioned above.
Zeus and this one doesn't even need explanations. Poseidon, depending on the version, is said to have raped Medusa, but this is the Roman version and not the Greek, so it depends on which myth you prefer, but I think he would be able to force himself on the Reader.
Apollo would do it if he was rejected by his beloved, and he wouldn't even think he was doing anything wrong. Eros would also force himself on his darling if he was rejected in a very cruel way, then he would force them to be his.
Although there are no records of Ares forcing himself on anyone, as we are doing a headcanon and I don't work with canon but with the voices in my head, I would say that he could force himself on the Reader. And he wouldn't even need much for that, it can easily be motivated by jealousy, pure lust or just because he wants to mark the Reader as his.
Hephaestus... It's complicated, the reason he tried to abuse Athena is because of Poseidon, in a way. Poseidon became jealous of the closeness of Athena and Hephaestus and incited the god of forging to make unwanted advances on the goddess of wisdom, thinking that she liked him. He never actually raped her, it was more like harassment, but he came on her thighs and a child was born from that. Bizarre? Yes. Would he abuse his S/O? Look, it depends. I think that if Hephaestus was really consumed by obsession, by jealousy, he could force himself on his darling.
Hades would never force himself sexually on his darling. He can kidnap them (and he will), he can lock them up but he will never do anything against their will, sexually speaking. He doesn't want to be like his brothers and loathes it, so he would never touch the Reader without their consent.
Dionysus would do it too. He is delusional enough and the reason he would abuse his darling could be motivated by how delusional he is. The god would be so delusional that he wouldn't even realize that the Reader doesn't want to sleep with them.
Hermes would only do so if he wanted to dismantle power over his S/O. Like, he did that to them because he can, because they are his and that means he can take them wherever he wants and whenever he wants. A form of control and psychological torture, in a way.
I think Aphrodite would be the only one of the goddesses to abuse her darling, but for her, she would not be committing abuse but rather showing how much she loves them. And for her, the goddess of love, also the patron saint of prostitutes, what better way than to have sex with her darling? Even if it's not consensual.

Every few months a new Harry Potter ship enters my radar and having been in this fandom for almost 8 years (damn I feel old) thatās insane.
Itās not just a new combination of characters that already have ships either. No, itās the most obscure characters that u have to be DEEP in the fandom to get.
I just now learned about Percy x Oliver and how would I explain to a casual fan that I ship the quidditch captain and Ronās brother??
At least those are established characters. How am i to say my 3rd favorite Harry Potter ship is Rosekiller when no one who just read the books would have any idea who Evan Rosier is. And i mean Marlene, Mary, Dorris? No way anyone would know what iām saying.
Dean x Seamus is a little obscure and background, but at least those characters interact in the canon. Hell, they exist in the canon. Yeah, iām looking at u Mattheo Riddle.
This fandom has gotten to the point where reading the 7 books, screenplay, watching the 8 movies, and 3 prequels, isnāt near enough to even get a fraction of this fandom.
I love it, but god im glad iāve been here since i was 10 bc otherwise i would be completely clueless, and i still have to look up things just to check bc cannon and fannon are somehow so different yet so intertwined that itās complicated.
Half this fandoms lore is from fanfics, fan films, and tumblr posts, which is crazy bc thereās plenty more lore in canon and pottermore

Hello! I love your meta posts and I have a question about your opinion on some fandom stuff involving Dick Grayson! We all know that recent stuff with Tom Taylor and in fanon have popularized the kinda-annoying imo āEternally Happyā Dick characterization the past couple of years. However, Iāve noticed lately that the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction and I see a lot of people characterize Dick as this edgy, super-depressed, loose canon that is always miserable and I find that characterization equally annoying. Stuff like āDick doesnāt trust peopleā, āDick has really bad anger issuesā, āDick is incredibly manipulativeā, āDick is a lonerā, etc. while it is true that Dick DOES has moments of being manipulative, angry, and untrusting, those moments arenāt his baseline and arenāt as common as some people like to believe imo. There are usually a lot of extenuating circumstances surrounding those moments, such as Donnaās death, Timās perceived death, and other high-stress, high-emotion factors. Iād love to hear your thoughts as someone who enjoys his character!
Generally speaking, my thoughts are that Dick is an incredibly multifaceted and complicated character with a lot of trauma whose behavior is regularly impacted by that trauma. That reality, and what various writers choose to emphasize, is going to significantly impact how any given reader views his character.
Dick genuinely is a great brother, mentor, and team leader with a lot of friends and people who genuinely love him, trust him, and look up to him. He's a consummate performer who is kind and quippy and will nearly always lend a helping hand even when he doesn't want to. He's steady, incredibly devoted, extremely ethical, and has a strength of will and determination that "cannot be broken."
He also genuinely has insane trust issues, a tendency to self-isolate (and lash out when people don't let him do that), is extremely and routinely manipulative, and has a habit of helping others to avoid dealing with his own issues. He's a hypercompetent and intensely private control freak who takes his job as a superhero extremely seriously and doesn't appreciate when others don't.
The man contains multitudes.
Dick was raised in a circus, went through a horrific trauma, and then was raised by Batman. He regularly gets compared to Bruce by his friends and even by his enemies, and those similarities regularly impact Dick's life and relationships. He just has much better mental and emotional tools to effectively deal with issues when they come up than Bruce does. Which sometimes he succeeds at and sometimes he fails at, depending on what it is and what else is going on in his life. He is generally well-adjusted when you compare him to most of the Batfam; he is not at all so when you compare him to any superhero with even a moderately "normal" upbringing or most people in general.
But when a character hits the towers of fanon, they will inevitably get flattened from their complex, nuanced canon depiction into a one or two-note character, especially if a writer chooses to emphasize one side over the other in a popular run. Hence the discussions of "Dick the eternally emotionally mature, welcoming, happy, and awesome brother" vs. the "Dick the angry and miserable loose cannon who yells at everyone who tries to help him" pushback. He's both of those things. He's neither of those things. Both depictions are technically right while also being wrong, which is why it's such a hard discussion to maneuver.

Nuzi, Envy, and Vizzy. The big three of MD ships.
A big post about comparing these great ships and the reasons why people love them.
Reason #1: colors
N and Uzi are on nigh polar opposite ends of the color wheel, very obviously fitting their nigh polar opposite personalities.
V and Lizzy, while still very different from each other, arenāt quite as opposite as N and Uzi. Their colors more⦠accentuate each other rather than fully contrast. Again, very fitting.
N x V is very different from the prior two. Their colors donāt show how different they are but instead how similar they are⦠at least at first. At first it showed that they were cut from the same cloth, it felt like they were meant to be together. Now, in yellow, it feels like a reminder of how far theyāve grown apart.
Reason #2: dynamics
This one is probably a lot less complicated to explain.
Nuzi is two very common but very loved tropes combined: The āTwo loveable dumbasses get up to shenanigansā trope and the all too familiar āopposites attractā trope. Somehow resulting in the queerest straight couple known to man, and we love it.
The Vizzy Dynamic is both really hard and really easy to explain because it has multiple different parts and interpretations and is not cannon (yet). The interpretation that most people in the Vizzy Nation have is Lizzy simply not fearing V and V being very confused but not necessarily disliking it. Also, two ātsundereā -type characters put together really canāt go wrong.
Envy, oh Envy. Iām so sorry, Envy and Envy enjoyers, but I honestly much prefer it in the past tense than the present tense. The ādynamicā of Envy to me is that it was so simple and so perfect, but it was just never meant to be. It is a very tragic and realistic story. I like Envy, not as a ship per se, but as a story.
I was wrong.
Reason #3: IDK bonus canonicity/legacy round
This is almost like a bonus reason because any sane shipper (oxymoron) doesnāt really care if their ship is canon, but it is a nice cherry on top!
Envy is, in a way, the ship of the past. Not in any negative way but rather a sort off⦠nostalgic way. A nice thing to look back on. Envy was canon, and itās a good thing that it was.
Nuzi is the ship of ānowā, as in episodes 2-8. The age where glitch is consistently supporting the show and the fandom is always awaiting the next episode. Nuzi is canon and always will be.
Vizzy, I predict, will be the ship of the future. When the only thing supporting the fandom is a bit of merch every once in a while, a few glitch inn shorts, and the fandom itself. Vizzy could be canon and nobody would complain but it will be more popular in the future.
Itās 1:30 as Iām writing this and oh god I need to go to bed.
(Feel free to add whatever you want to this!)

Back on my Batfam Bullshit :)
So Tim canonically has the most bat shit (ha) plans in the history of ever that somehow work just so well when they are actually followed. Heās sixteen steps ahead at all times. There are slide shows he has prepared.
But my head cannon is that, as Tim gets more tired and more done with a case, a person, or just life in general, the MORE complicated it keeps getting. A simple drug bust somehow evolves into a mania of traps that would make Rube Goldberg wet their pants.
But then. Suddenly. Timās plans lose all sense of flaunt and fashion and mystery. No, it all cuts back to the bare bones. No gsmes, only win.
The problem? This is also when Tim is most dangerous, because he WILL say ājust shooting the guy would make all my current problems disappear.ā
So everyone is tag teaming to either keep Tim away from the target while the others solve the case. There is no question of if Tim will find the target but when.

I remembered your idea about Grimmjow mentoring Izuku and I have world building/background.
Grimm got to the bnha universe because some idiots were trying to summon a demon to kill some heroes and since there aren't any in universe the magic spell outsourced. The idiots did not survive their stupidity. Grimm is really annoying because he's pretty sure it's going to take at least a year to get home.
Finding and starting to teach Izuku delayed his plans, but not by too much. Grim figures he'll just wait for the kid to die and bring Izuku's soul back with him. Classic Arrancar adoption tactics.
Inko is a little uncomfortable with a demon adopting her son with a plan of making him another demon, but honestly Izuku's just so happy these days that she's cool with it. She does the paperwork to make Grim a distant relative.
People in the bnha universe don't really have reiatsu but they still have souls. Grim just has to teach izuku to reform his soul so it's bleach style instead. He's pretty sure that any of the many mad scientists he knows would tell him it's impossible, but izuka did it anyways so there.
For paperwork they claim that it's a family inherited work that is super finicky and requires a lot of control and often doesn't activate without life or death danger or knowing how to activate it beforehand. Which it is true, using reiatsu for stuff more complicated than "be stronger and hardier," let alone kidou, takes decades of learning. Even if hollow style kidou is easier to learn, it's not by that much. Grim mostly focuses Izuku on learning the basics of combat and maybe sonido.
Izuku ends up good at kicking people in the face like canon, but he also has throwing knives and a tanto to complete the danger gremlin evolution.
He kicks Bakugou in the face and breaks his nose. Their relationship isn't great but it's not as awful as in cannon.
Grimmjow is setting up connections with the villain community one day when he hears about some mysterious, powerful fucker called All For One. He hasn't eaten in a while, and that seems like someone no one will miss so he eats out for the day. The villain underground immediately falls into chaos but that isn't his problem.
Coincidentally, Inko's deadbeat husband finally stopped sending money. (Whether he's AfO or just some asshole who died in the chaos is up to you.) She shrugs and moves on. She saved and invested most money he gave them anyways.
Grim ends up running a dojo. First he just needs space to teach Izuku but I firmly believe that despite his general misanthropic tendencies he actually likes kids, so the whole thing balloons pretty fast. He ends up with this weird teenager who calls himself Dabi as an assistant, since the kid already knew how to fight pretty well.
With an actual support system Dabi ends up significantly less burned and significantly more sane. He works as a vigilante, killing marital and child abusers. He's really uncertain about what to do about Endeavor, because he wants to kill him but the man also scares the shit out of him, and he doesn't want to free his siblings just to put them in the spotlight. Grimmjow is less than zero help, but Inko gives him a big hug and helps him start to set up a legal case if that's what he decides to do. He's like Izuku's weird, obnoxious older cousin.
Speaking of the lov, Kurogiri got out and took Shigaraki with him when AfO died. They end up picking up the rest of the league overtime. All the kids try to convince Kurogiri to reach back out to his friends from when he was Oboro. They might or might not be vigilantes.
What are you talking about, this isn't a fix it fic.
The UA staff are deeply baffled when they meet Izuku's guardians: the sweetest little lady you ever did meet and what Aizawa is pretty sure is an actual, literal demon from hell. In hindsight, though, it makes sense.
Thank you for the idea! Sorry for shoving this thing in your inbox.
Never apologize because this is fantastic.

**alien stage final round spoilers**
I really enjoy looking at the feelings and relationship dynamics between characters when I see a work. I feel I got a better grasp of/understood that aspect after seeing that most recent alien stage video, so I'd enjoy talking about it. Before I begin, I respect all the canon interactions and appreciate what they give us. The major "ships" for this, I am aware of, they are all very valid and I find all of them intriguing and interesting to see!
This particular stage, I feel, shows a really good insight of how Ivan and Till's love's are conveyed in contrast to each other.
Ivan appears to be very mannerly and he's very kind towards the fans, giving a lot of fanservice, he's the "good boy" of the group (excluding Luka who's simply "made for the stage") while Till tends to be the rebel. He swears towards the aliens, tries to run away, and does the unexpected on stage, he's a loose cannon as they say, but when it comes to "love", their attitudes tend to be the complete opposite.
It appears that Ivan's feelings towards Till is very complex for it to be defined simply as "love"(although I believe it is) although he's reserved on the outside, I feel he's the one has the hardest time dealing with his own emotions, since it does exist, but even he himself can't actually make out what they are. Idk how it's been translated but I saw him defining what he had towards Till as "shallow(ģķķ)" and apologizing to him as being his victim of it, I think it's the contrary. It's way too muddled and complicated, the artbook also mentions that he'd be the only one who can know what that feeling he has towards Till is. And I'm not even sure if he himself does in a complete sense. What I can see is that he does care. However, it seems like Ivan doesn't know how to care for Till in a way that'd come across to Till in a way that he'd like. In turn, he keeps acting in a way that'd provoke him to make the guy look back at him. He ruins the flowers Till treasures that he's received from Mizi, punches him, follows him around, nudges him, and acts pretty imposing and unpredictable when it comes to Till, he does things that Till doesn't want. It's out of his interest and fondness but it just can't come across to Till as a good thing. He doesn't hate him (he's still pretty fond of Ivan when I read the artbook) but finds him annoying. The artbook defines Ivan's feeling as one-sided, and sadly, it is very much that way. Ivan is the one that looks most mature out of the 4 kids that grew up together (Sua, Mizi, Till and Ivan himself) but they phrase Ivan as someone who's grown in terms of body but has never matured from being a child (P 208, 211 in the artbook) The problem here is that he never learned how to express his feeling properly. It always... ends up in a way that hurts Till. Till fails to comprehend or make out just what's happened as he sees Ivan dead in the final moments of stage 6. While Ivan manages to achieve his desired results of having Till finally look back at him, that's also all he gets. It was predictable, though. I feel like they'd have had a much friendlier relationship if they grew up in a normal, humane environment. In the end, Ivan does realize he's being selfish. I personally believe it's both selfish and selfless, a bit similar to how Sua was towards Mizi. They do things for the other but also, they do realize it's what the other party wouldn't enjoy/fully comprehend while they do it. But they can't help it since they want the other to survive.
Till's feelings for Mizi has been always there, I kind of feel it could get overshadowed a lot from how immensely big and impactful Ivan's actions have been portrayed throughout the series, but I really appreciate how they acknowledged Till's feelings for her's also something that's very genuine and what's gave him light. I read that the idea that Till had a crush on Mizi was there from the very early stages of development from the artbook. That's a crucial part of his character. And unlike how the usual "reserved and gentle" Ivan can get pretty aggressive to get a reaction out of Till (nothing against Ivan, just analyzing) Till's love is also pretty much unrequited, but he acts very selfless and gentle towards Mizi, he never does anything that'd.. affect her in a strong sense except for trying to express his feelings through music. While Ivan pokes, punches, grabs, kisses his love to get his attention, Till tends to blush and run away. This guy is very aware of what his feelings towards Mizi is, yet I think he understood his position and how much Mizi loves Sua so he keeps at a distance. His commentary about Mizi is that he believes "she's the most beautiful being in the entire universe and he felt reborn when she smiled at him." Oh wait?? he's an INFP??? REALLY??? Looking at the artbook and..;;hshshg to imagine an INFP acting like him.. oh, he must have suffered A LOT;; I guess he was always on edge in those harsh conditions then. His feelings towards Mizi didn't really come across so much either, as it is said she thought Till was evading her, she wanted to be more friendly with him being the jolly and sweet person she is though.
The outcome for these two are very similar but different. When I watched Till's fate..(yeah, I was shocked he almost NEVER stood a chance against Luka despite how good he is too;;) I think I felt sad, but I was.. also happy for him that he realized Mizi does genuinely care for him. What Ivan got wasn't mutual, Till didn't understand.. and he was engraved, but as a source of trauma (I find this inevitable though seeing how that stage played out). Mizi smiled at Till and he was so happy to see her again he immediately lit up and tried to reach out to her while the stage was still going on, their eyes meet, the way Ivan and Till did on the previous stage, but it was welcoming and out of glee. Of course the one Mizi loves is Sua, but it was sweet to see Mizi really caring for Till as a friend. He's also what she's wanted to save, and Till was suffering after he thought Mizi was gone, but he got that sense of relief in his last moments. There was a comment I found that I found was quite insightful about this situation. He doesn't ask much in return, he always was that person that'd accept and appreciate what she gave him. Was that really enough for Till? I'm not sure but, he was still happy from everything Mizi had given him. I do see Ivan having a harder time being the same way because Till would have been so focused on Mizi to look back at him if he was as passive and accepting as Till was to her, and besides, I think the type of "love" they have may not exactly be the same although it can be categorized as "love". "Love" comes in many different forms and it grew in ways that were affected by their environment and personalities. I appreciate how that was depicted. I feel Till's love towards Mizi is just as powerful as Ivan's love towards Till was, it displays the different types of one-sided love.

I can talk about Sua and Mizi's dynamic too, with that I'd be talking about all the four major ships (I talked about Hyuna and Luka in another post earlier!) but maybe I'll do that another time.
However, I'd still like to mention what I found interesting in the artbook! They say that Sua wanted to protect Mizi's naivety and shield her from reality, because she found salvation in it. It was a place of escape for her, they say (p44) she gave Mizi hope that there would be a good ending, and that's how Mizi completely broke down the moment Sua was gone. Mizi really didn't see it coming while Sua actually did as she sang. Sua wanted to remain in that moment forever with Mizi, they say (p39) she depended on Mizi as much as Mizi did for her. The artbook gives out a really good insight in terms of about how the characters feel about things and it's very colorful and thick and great to see in general, so I recommend you to buy it if you are interested in the series. I'm not a hardcore fan of this piece (yet) but it was still worth every penny to me so, I bet it'd be a gem for those who really care for it~

WELCOME~!
Hii! Some of you may have seen me on TV from time to time⦠if so Iām flattered~ if not, then hereās my introduction!
Im Asagiri Gen, the Kingdom of Sciences very own mentalist and one of the five wise generals of the stone world! Seeing all my other dear friends making blogs made me feel a little left out, so here I am!!
Please feel free to ask any questions~ Iāll do my best to answer all! ^^
/ooc
Guys.. im actually @p1ercemyh34rt .. woah..
Im definitely gonna edit the intro and my other posts and stuff from time to time because well itās my first time making an introduction and rp blog.
Anyways I wanted to make this for funsies!! My first time doing this please donāt kill me. Also Please feel free to ask psychology related questions! Since I also really like psychology and psychopathology (which Iām personally more interested in (study of mental illness)) and find it fun to learn about ill be happy to research about it:3 though I am clearly not a profession so like.. ill try my best to be as similar to gen as possible even though he is a very complicated character..
Gen IS my hyper fixation .. those who know my main blog know this⦠so again Iāll try my bestest but donāt expect it to be on point aksjfnekjdnr
also warning for excessive use of ā~ā and kaomojis. Iām pretty sure Gen canonically uses kaomojis and he speaks in a sing songs voice + im just pretty sure he uses ~. A lot.
If you ask anything about his character theyāre mostly gonna be answered based on my head cannons for him if the question is about smth thatās not said about him
Donāt be weird or odd and we can all get along!

Any tips for writing Iroh II? I wanted to put him in a fic of mine but LoK gives us so little to work with, but Iāve seen youāve done so much with him in your works.
Any advice would be appreciated <3
Wow, I'm honored (get it?) you reached out! I love Iroh II very much - obviously - and am always excited to see him included in other fics.
The thing is, as you said, there's so little in canon that you can honestly do whatever you want. I have my own headcanons about him but they're just that, headcanons, and there's no right or wrong answer here. I've seen him written very differently by different authors and no one take is more valid than another. Go nuts.
That said, I do think there are some characteristics that can be inferred from his small on-screen presence.
He doesn't talk a lot. Compared to his total screen time he has very few lines, and all of his lines are very functional and spoken to others (as opposed to monologue). Ergo, I consider Iroh an introvert who processes a lot internally rather than someone who is chatty and gregarious.
He has short hair and is in the United Forces, not a topknot serving in the Fire Navy. He mentions his mother and grandfather but doesn't share any screen time with them. Therefore, I think Iroh has a complicated relationship with the Fire Nation and is someone comfortable with or even seeing to break with tradition.
Iroh both acts bravely and respects bravery. In nearly every scene he's in he puts himself in physical danger. He notes Bumi is "one of the bravest commanders." He also nearly dies many times over trying to save his and Bumi's troops. So, Iroh is someone who sees his and others service primarily as protection and will not hesitate to physically put himself in front of others. The Avatar RPG even says "expect to see General Iroh leading from the front." I also interpret this as him having somewhat low self-esteem, or at least a reckless disregard for his own safety.
Iroh will bend the rules but not break them and is quick to adapt. In book 1 he essentially goes rogue because there is no one to stop him, and pivots his strategy several times: on the ship when the fire cannons can't hit the planes, after Korra leaves with Mako, and again after he, Asami, and Bolin are captured. In book 2 he instantly devises a strategy of military exercises to support Korra's cause, then casts it aside as soon as Raiko orders him not to but tells Korra to go to the Fire Nation. In book 4 he mounts a defense a week early with four hours' notice, then surrenders to Kuvira when ordered but tells Korra to run for it even though the Avatar's surrender was included in the order because he knows he reports to Raiko but she doesn't. So, I conclude Iroh is very smart but also knows what he can and can't get away with, would generally prefer to do what he considers the right thing and will tell others to do what he can't when he's stopped, and will defend his actions on technicalities.
He doesn't change his clothes. In book 1 his uniform is soaking wet and shredded. Yet except for his missing sleeve, he's immaculate. Buttoned up, cravat knotted, medals attached. Could Gommu have scared up another outfit? Almost certainly. But Iroh says no. Compare this to Bumi's unbuttoned dishevelment and I think it's safe to infer that Iroh is a neat and clean individual who holds the image of his office in high regard. This is the kind of guy who folds his socks and labels his leftovers and never forgets to shave.
Dude is hot. Hottttttt. Yet there's no mention of a Mr. or Mrs. Fire Nation, and he's not exactly hitting on anyone on screen. So, Iroh is either shy or socially awkward or married to his job or finds himself in some other way unfit for companionship or - in my writing - often all four.
From the above I get an intelligent, brave, intellectually agile, determined, ambitious, orderly individual who thinks before he speaks, is somewhat alone in the world, and is ready and willing to die to protect others both because it aligns with his own values and because he sees himself as somewhat disposable. If there's an attack, he's between whatever it is and innocent people. If there's a party, he's in the back of the room wondering how soon he can leave. If there's a job to do, he's working at it until it's done to his satisfaction or he's directly ordered to stop, in which case he'll secretly tell someone else to do it instead.
Anyway, that's more or less how I wound up with my characterization of Iroh II. Happy writing! I'm excited to see what you come up with.

Hey! Hope youāre having an awesome day! I was wondering if you have cannon ages for the boys in their current series? I understand that it probably complicates things slightly but Iāve always imagined them in their late twenties/early thirties and got a little bit of a shock when my friend mentioned she always thought they were in their early twenties.
If youāve answered this already, mb!!
No canonical ages, mostly vibes and ranges.
Charlie is probably the youngest, early twenties. Auron is probably the oldest, 30-something.
Not counting Lucien, a centuries old demon, or Evalas characters. š
BitterSweet boys pretty much have to be mid twenties in the vague timeline of events. But in general, I've never been too fussed about what people think. There are plenty of aspects people have to fill in the blank for in this medium. So long as everyone recognizes the characters are all adults, I'm happy.

Sword gays showdown, round 1, bracket two
Propaganda:
For Kiku:
She is almost 10 feet/3 meters tall and is a gorgeous trans woman and samurai, who is very loyal to her allies. She gets recognized as strong by the main character multiple times and proves it by being one of the most resilient badasses in the entire series. Helps break said main character out of the enemy's prison and takes part in a rebellion against the corrupt prison staff. She stands up to a tyrant who enslaved her country, said tyrant can also turn into a giant dragon. When the highest ranked sumo in the area is abusing class privilege and harassing both the townsfolks and her, she cuts his top knot off in public, effectively ending his career. Then after cutting the sumo's not knot, she uses her great acting skills to win the crowd to her side by playing the innocent maiden and being all "oh, no, what have I done?" (She knew exactly what she did >:) After her country is free, she also gets to enjoy being girly and mellow once everyone is able to relax, and everyone respects that side of her too. All of this at just 22 years of age, what a cool lady
She's a samurai who's great with a sword and she's also trans.
She is cannonically trans and is a very cool swordswoman!
Trans samurai!! Kenshi is gender neutral, but this is a swordsWOMAN
One of the most powerful samurai in her country, also a trans icon.
Sheās canonically trans and awesome and pretty and sheās so tall! š³ļøāā§ļø
For Luo Binghe:
This boy not just studied the blade, he learned the blade FROM HIS CRUSH. And not only that but he actually has tons of symbolism around BOTH of the swords he wields over the course of the novel. His childhood sword gets broken when he's about to be thrown into his corruption arc, but the pieces are carefully preserved by his crush, and later he rebuilds the sword in question. Once he is fully freed from corrupting influence of his other sword, he uses this one again! It represents his inner goodness that gets broken, but is never really gone. The other is a cursed sword representing toxic masculinity that corrupts his mind and pushes him to harm himself and others. It gets destroyed in the end thru the power of gay love!
His sword is first broken symbolizing his trauma and loss of innocence when he is kicked into hell. Then his other sword, Xin Mo, which he finds in hell, represents toxic masculinity and he breaks it at the climax of the novel. It can also dimension travel and is evil.
Binghe has two different songs in this book and a complicated relationship with both of them. First there is Zhen Yang which breaks at a dramatic moment and is mourned over by his teacher/love interest "like a grieving widow". And then there's Xin Mo! His "golden finger". The most ridiculously overpowered sword in the world, it can even cut rifts in the fabric of the world. It also runs on sex and violence and drives him to madness which can only be cured by the aforementioned love interest sacrificing himself... or by sex!
