Justin Horowitz at MMFA:
Viral TikTok videos are falsely linking birth control to infertility and describing the medication as “absolutely poison,” while others make generalizations about side effects and suggest the pill tricks women’s brains into making them less attracted to “masculinity." A recent report from The Washington Post examined how online birth control misinformation, combined with a lack of transparency about rare side effects from contraception, is causing women to believe misconceptions about the medication. The article says the trend is driven by an “underlying conservative push” by right-wing influencers. [...]
Misinformation about birth control is going viral on TikTok
On TikTok, figures spreading misinformation are leveraging cherry-picked data and anecdotes about negative side effects of the pill to make blanket generalizations about its effects and scare women into believing that birth control — which is safe and effective — is dangerous. In a May 2023 TikTok video with 144,000 views, for example, former Daily Wire host Candace Owens falsely insinuated that birth control causes infertility problems. (Owens has gone on to repeatedly attack birth control and suggest on social media that it is dangerous.)
[...] Making blanket statements about how birth control affects women is misleading — experts say that while there may be an “association” between hormones and some elements of physical attraction, “suggesting that birth control can alter mate preference,” it is difficult to be certain there is a “cause and effect” relationship. Additionally, as The Washington Post noted, many of the studies that influencers point to “have small sample sizes or are otherwise flawed … which can show correlation but not necessarily causation." No medication is perfect, and doctors need to be clear about potential side effects with their patients — the lived experiences of people on birth control are valid, and side effects from these medications vary from person to person. However, influencers on TikTok are leveraging cherry-picked data points and anecdotes about negative side effects from birth control to make blanket generalizations about its effects that are misleading and potentially dangerous. [...]
The Post’s reporting spurred TikTok to delete videos “linking birth control to mental health issues,” among other misleading claims. A TikTok spokesperson confirmed to the Post that some videos the outlet identified violated TikTok’s company policies against “inaccurate, misleading or false content that may cause significant harm to individuals or society." By design, TikTok’s “For You Page” algorithm feeds content to users based on “interests” or “connections” that can make it easier to be pulled into a world of radical content, even if they are not seeking it out. This could lead TikTok users — many of them children — to view and possibly believe medical misinformation from influencers that right-wing figures are exploiting to vilify and fearmonger about birth control.
Birth control misinformation and conspiracy theories are gaining lots of views on TikTok to push right-wing narratives to gin up anti-birth control sentiments.

A Russian-aligned propaganda network notorious for creating deepfake whistleblower videos appears to be behind a coordinated effort to promote wild and baseless claims that Minnesota governor and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz sexually assaulted one of his former students, according to several specialists tracking the disinformation campaign.
Experts believe that the campaign is tied to a network called Storm-1516, which has been linked to, among other things, a previous effort that falsely claimed vice president Kamala Harris perpetrated a hit-and-run in San Francisco in 2011. Storm-1516 has a long history of posting fake whistleblower videos, and often deepfake videos, to push Kremlin talking points to the West.
The propaganda unit’s work has successfully reached the highest levels of the Republican party, with vice presidential candidate JD Vance repeating at least one of their narratives. NBC reported this week that the group has pushed at least 50 false narratives in this manner since last fall, which comes amid a broader Russian government effort to disrupt next month’s election with the aim of helping former president Donald Trump return to the White House.
Numerous figures in MAGA world boosted the Tim Walz assault claims, including Jack Posobiec, the Pizzagate promoter who is now a member of Trump’s campaign team, and Candace Owens, the popular right-wing podcaster. The claims went viral on X last week, when an anonymous account called Black Insurrectionist posted screenshots of emails from a purported victim. Other X users quickly debunked the claims, citing formatting errors in the images that suggested the emails were fake, but days later another conspiracist posted a video on X claiming he had spoken to one of Walz's supposed victims on the phone—without providing any proof. The video racked up millions of hits.
Then, on Wednesday, a video claiming to show a former student of Walz describing abuse by the former football coach spread widely on X. According to a WIRED analysis using several deepfake detector tools, the video was created using AI. The video, shared by a prominent anonymous QAnon-promoting account, garnered over 4.3 million views before it was deleted.
The campaign to attack Walz predates the video; it traces back to John Dougan, a former Florida cop who now lives in Moscow and runs a network of pro-Kremlin websites. Dougan appeared on Zak Paine’s QAnon show RedPill78 on October 5 with an anonymous man named “Rick,” who said he was a foreign exchange student at Mankato West High School in 2004 when Walz was a teacher there. “Rick” then claimed Walz assaulted him. Dougan did not respond to a request for comment.
The claims, however, didn’t go viral until last week and the release of the deepfake video.
Darren Linvill, codirector at Clemson University’s Media Forensics Hub, tells WIRED that he immediately recognized this tactic as part of Russia’s well-established disinformation playbook.
“There is little doubt this is Storm-1516,” says Linvill, whose team uncovered the network last fall.
Linvill says the account that first shared the AI-altered video bears all the hallmarks of previous Storm-1516 campaigns. “It is standard for them to create an X or YouTube account for initial placement of stories,” says Linvill.
The campaign orchestrated by Storm-1516 often begins with the posting of a fake story and video from a whistleblower or citizen journalist, the US mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe outlined in July. Disinformation is “amplified by other seemingly unaffiliated online networks,” the US mission stated. The claims then take on a life of their own, shared and reposted by unwitting social media users who likely have no idea of where the videos originated.
The fake stories can also be picked up by other media outlets that cover viral social media stories. In the case of the Walz claims, they ended up on MSN, a news aggregation site owned by Microsoft.
In the past, Storm-1516 has relied on a network of fake news websites run by Dougan to push its narratives. On Saturday, a story that referenced the RedPill78 interview, the Black Insurrectionist posts, and the deepfake video was published on over 100 of Dougan’s websites simultaneously.
This was first discovered by Alex Liberty, a researcher who tracks the activity of Russia’s propaganda networks and who agrees with Linvill’s assertion that the deepfake video bears all the hallmarks of a Storm-1516 campaign.
“We believe that it might be a coordinated campaign in [an] attempt to bring numerous false accusations of the same nature against Tim Walz through different channels and in different formats in order to bring an image of legitimacy to the narrative,” Liberty tells WIRED.
McKenzie Sadeghi, the AI and foreign influence editor at NewsGuard, agrees.
“The false narrative appears to be part of a wider campaign pushed by pro-Kremlin media and QAnon influencers ahead of the November 5, 2024, US elections aimed at portraying Walz, whose political appeal is as an everyman schoolteacher and coach, as a pedophile who had inappropriate relationships with minors,” Sadeghi wrote in an analysis of the deepfake video.
From the very beginning, the allegations against Walz were easily debunked. In his interview on the RedPill78 QAnon show, Dougan’s source claimed he was in the US thanks to the State Department–funded Future Leaders Exchange program, which allows students from countries formerly under the control of the Soviet Union the chance to study in the US for a year.
However, a spokesperson for the US State Department, told NewsGuard that it has no record of any Future Leaders Exchange student from Kazakhstan in Mankato area schools from 2000 through 2020. Mankato Area Public Schools communications director Mel Helling told NewsGuard the allegations were “outlandish.”
The baseless claims were shared by some far-right accounts in the days after the episode was published, but they didn’t really take hold until a week later, when the X account known as Black Insurrectionist posted a clip from Dougan’s RedPill78 episode. The clip was viewed over 800,000 times.
Google search trends data shows a huge spike in people searching for “Tim Walz pedophile” and “Tim Walz abuse” on October 13, the day the Black Insurrectionist account began posting their claims.
The Black Insurrectionist account is anonymous and launched a year ago; its followers include Donald Trump Jr. and former Trump adviser Roger Stone. The account’s bio reads: “I am MAGA.” It rose to prominence weeks before the Walz post, when it claimed to have been in contact with a whistleblower at ABC who said Harris had been provided with the questions ahead of her September debate with former president Donald Trump. Those claims were widely debunked by multiple major fact-checking and media organizations.
Last week, the Black Insurrectionist account shared screenshots of email correspondence the account had with an alleged victim on X. Almost immediately, the evidence was questioned when X users spotted a text cursor in one of the screenshots, suggesting that Black Insurrectionist was editing the document. Others pointed out that the date and time format shown in some of the screenshots was inconsistent with how they are displayed on real emails.
Black Insurrectionist initially defended itself before going silent. The account was deleted on Thursday.
The two dozen posts from Black Insurrectionist laying out their alleged evidence have been viewed over 33 million times, according to X’s own metrics, and have been shared on numerous other platforms, including Truth Social, Instagram, Telegram, and TikTok.
Among those sharing Black Insurrectiont’s claims was Paine, who hosted Dougan on his QAnon show. “I have no reason to doubt the veracity of this story,” Paine wrote on X.
The posts have also caught the attention of the wider MAGA universe in a way that Dougan’s initial claims didn’t. Prominent right-wing figures like Owens and Posobiec both flagged the “allegations” as something worth looking into.
Owens discussed the conspiracy on her top-rated podcast, with the episode racking up over 630,000 views on YouTube since it was posted on Wednesday.
Posobiec wrote on X that there were “lots of allegations going around regarding Tim Walz sexually abusing young student(s).” While he added that he didn’t “know about any of the recent allegations being made,” he did share a link to Dougan’s claims from earlier in the month.
When Harris replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee for president in July, Russian-aligned propaganda networks struggled to mount effective disinformation campaigns targeting the vice president and her team.
But as Microsoft reported in the summer, those campaigns have started to find their footing. "The shift to focusing on the Harris-Walz campaign reflects a strategic move by Russian actors aimed at exploiting any perceived vulnerabilities in the new candidates," Clint Watts, head of Microsoft’s Threat Analysis Center, wrote in August.

Quarant'anni anni fa l'opinione pubblica era formata esclusivamente dai Media ufficiali.
Quindi scriviamo, leggiamo e discutiamo, senza paura❗

Hello. I read a post you wrote about Joss. And I am genuinely asking because I am curious, if you don’t understand why Joss followed those people years ago, then why are you so quick to judge him ? Is it because you know precisely one thing about him? I get that you don’t like those people because of their actions, politics points, hate speech, and all the things you claim, etc. ..Did Joss say something thing ? Maybe I’m just not seeing what you are ? And again, I’m just curious and mean no offense
Okay so I JUST checked his instagram because I wanted to check something and he’s no longer following Pearl or Candace Owens (he was when I made my post about him this morning) so clearly someone at GMMTV has been like DUDE WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING FOLLOWING A HOLOCAUST DENIER
But to answer your question (and I don’t take any offense it’s all good I’m happy to chat about it)
I’ve seen a number of people question why some are “quick to judge” him based on the fact that he’s following some American right wing people.
So first off I just want to look at “following someone” and why “just following someone” is still a pretty good indication of someone’s character. When you follow someone online, that is a sign that you like them. That you support them. That you want to see more of their content (unless you’re one of those people that hate follow). So when I see a man is following a series of people that are all known to be hateful, misogynistic, sexist, homophobic, transphobic and bigoted, it gives me pause, because that follow button signals that in some way, you endorse that person.
Yes, he hasn’t “said” anything (that I know of). But the act of following these people says a lot. And also, I feel like the term “following them years ago” is used to try and distance Joss away from the harmfulness of some of these people (not saying you specifically did that, however it is what some people have done).
“What if he followed them years ago before they went down the alt right pipeline and he just hasn’t unfollowed them because he hasn’t realised?” That doesn’t exactly hold up considering he follows (as of this morning) Pearl’s extreme conservative podcast that has never had some kind of “unproblematic” time period, it’s always been That Bad. It’s always been a podcast run by a woman that says women are whores and shouldn’t vote and men should be allowed to cheat on their wives and trans people are scary. Yeah, he’s never said any of that. But considering he follows some that says that? Maybe he’s not the worst person in the entire world and I’m not gonna send the dude death threats or anything, but it has made me go, “okay… I don’t think I’m interested in following this guy’s career anymore”.
This isn’t like when you find out a celebrity you love follows a musician you don’t like and it’s like, “damn, this guy I love has shitty music taste 😭😭”. It’s like, “damn, this guy I love follows a woman who had her visa to Australia and New Zealand denied because of hateful shit she said about muslims and the holocaust!!”
But yeah, clearly GMMTV is in damage control mode because Joss isn’t following those people anymore. Except he’s still following Joe Rogan lol.

Vaxx passports failed because infection and transmission were not prevented by C19 injections - despite regulators knowledge that they were never intended to.
Peter Halligan Nov 25, 2024
From this 51-minute podcast here (h/t Nebraska Proud)
Electronic Disease Surveillance ~ CDC Shield data
Well worth a listen.
Here’s what Brave has on CDC's COVID Shield Project that was on the CDC website for three years until 2023.
“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed a document in 2020, titled “Interim Operational Considerations for Implementing the Shielding Approach to Prevent COVID-19 Infections in Humanitarian Settings.” This document discusses a strategy to protect high-risk individuals in humanitarian settings, such as refugee camps, displaced populations, and low-resource settings, from COVID-19.”
1.1 “Key Points:
Shielding approach: The strategy involves separating high-risk individuals (e.g., those with underlying medical conditions) from the general population to limit their exposure to the virus.
Green zones: Temporary “green zones” would be established for vulnerable individuals to minimize contact with others, reducing the risk of transmission.
Challenges and risks: The CDC document highlights potential implementation challenges and risks associated with the shielding approach, including:
o Separation of families and potential mental health impacts.
o Difficulty in maintaining infection control and hygiene in crowded settings.
o Limited access to healthcare and medical services.
Not a camp-based isolation: The shielding approach does not involve isolating high-risk individuals in camps or facilities, but rather creating temporary separation within existing humanitarian settings.
** Lukewarm endorsement**: The CDC document does not endorse the shielding approach but rather presents its potential benefits and challenges, emphasizing the need for careful planning, additional resources, and strict adherence to protocols.
Misinformation and Fact-Checking:
Conservative commentator Candace Owens falsely claimed that the CDC proposed putting high-risk Americans into camps, likening it to 1930s Germany. Fact-checking organizations, including FactCheck.org and CNN, have debunked this claim, stating that the document only applies to humanitarian settings and does not endorse camp-based isolation.”
Someone in the CDC drew up these plans to remove the elderly and the infirm (so called “useless eaters”) into “green zones” where no contact was allowed outside camps.
There is o evidence that this approach has ever worked at any time and place in the past.

Reed McMaster at MMFA:
Podcaster Patrick Bet-David provides a platform for far-right figures to promote conspiracy theories and bigotry, potentially to millions of people. Bet-David’s PBD Podcast has allowed guests to promote the white nationalist “great replacement” theory, claim that homosexuality is being pushed on children, and push conspiracy theories about mail-in ballot harvesting.
Who is Patrick Bet-David?
Bet-David is the founder of the insurance company PHP Agency and digital media outlet Valuetainment. The Daily Beast described PHP Agency as “a multilevel marketing company” that “makes money when people recruit lower-ranking members, who then funnel their sales commissions upwards.” Bet-David has interviewed major figures such as former President George W. Bush and professional basketball player Kobe Bryant at PHP Agency conferences, eventually posting some of these interviews to Valuetainment’s YouTube channel. [Daily Beast, 5/31/19; PR Newswire, 7/20/22; YouTube, 8/23/19; Valuetainment, accessed on 5/6/24]
Valuetainment hosts multiple interview-focused podcasts, including Bet-David’s own PBD Podcast. Bet-David has interviewed a variety of right-wing guests on his podcast, including Fox host Jesse Watters, alleged human trafficker Andrew Tate, and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, as well as celebrities not involved in politics. [Huffpost, 4/15/24; Valuetainment, PBD Podcast, 6/12/23; Forbes, 10/16/23]
Patrick Bet-David's PBD Podcast hosted by Valuetainment has featured numerous right-wing guests and bigoted commentary.

Yes! I wish more people brought this up! modern day conservative influencers aren’t talented musicians and artists and they are envious of those who are. They have talent agents and all that! Every single one started out normal.
They wanted to be special with mediocre skills but can’t make it. I can understand because my skills aren’t the best but I just keep practicing. They COULD have gone the indie route too, post their music online and keep working at it but I think they are obsessed with money and influence. That’s why grifting for conservatives online is easy cheap money.
....and that's also why there's a significant (Hollywood) celebrity who fell from grace → rightoid grifter pipeline. Have you seen Zachari Levi (Shazam actor) and Amber Rose latest stunt? Funny how conservatives didn't cockblocked them arguing that celebrity support was some silly tactic they left to Democrats. They welcomed them in their podcasts, rally, etc.
I always said conservatives were envious of the chokehold liberals had on the entertainment industry. But the thing is, you can't pretend defending traditional values/conservatism while aiming for a upheaval of the entertainment world. They are called LIBERAL arts for a reason. Conservatism is turned toward the past & self preservation, while arts are about exploring and disturbing the status quo. There will never be a relevant conservative influencial culture. That's why conservatives ALWAYS have to resort to rehash liberal slogan or viral moments.
You are absolutely right about them being too addicted to fame & attention to bow down gracefully and retire from an industry that did them "wrong". For Zachari Levi it's obvious like the nose on the face he's MAD AS HELL that Shazam 2 flopped and thought he was gonna be the next Chris Evans lol so he turned towards the rightoid grift bc after DC fans cancelled him for being an 'anti vaxxer' he knew his 15 minutes were ending and fully leaned towards the rightoid grift to grasp the last straw of relevancy he had. Rightoid are not really demanding: as long as you shit on the government they will hail you as sooo disruptive and non pc 🤩 Amber Rose? Well, it eventually dawned on her that she wasn't Black and she got shunned by the communitah after she assaulted that Black women on some trashy TV shows. She also felt the tide turning and that being a 'slut' wasn't as lucrative as 10 years ago so she's now rebuking her past and endorsing conservative. I wouldn't be surprised she becomes a full on tradwife in the next few years.
Both of them are perfect nutshell of celebrities clinging to the last shred of relevancy left wherever it is bc they felt betrayed by liberals/progressives.
I also think Candace Owens is secretly jealous of female influencer because that's what she wanted to be back when she was an anti racist activist. Same for Brett Cooper. I once sleuthed on their respective pages and analysed their thumbnail/video title, and to the surprise of nobody, most of the time, they were clowning women, and when they featured men, they either were 'neutral' or not as hard as for women (or were LGBT men = easier target)...they definitely know their audience.
Btw I'm genuinely curious about Celestial prophecy of Candace Owens being trans(?)/not what she appears to be LOL that shit would be hilarious. I remember her catfight debate with Blaire White. Those lolcow fighting was hilarious kek

She is likely very confused as to why things aren’t working out. She’s famous and the podcast and documentary were top ranked and then the book was a bestseller. Why aren’t the offers rolling in?
I listened to Candace Owens (I know) and she said that the coronation and how Kate carried herself is aspirational. She then said Harry's life is a cautionary of how to chose the right partner.
She isn't getting the big offers she believes she deserves because
1. She's not aspirational
2. These brands carry out their market survey and they have discovered that she doesn't sell.
3. She's boring
4. She's polarising
Aspirational is key. I was shocked when I saw the documentary because everything looked so tacky and cheap. And their life seemed to be just lawsuits and crying and checking social media.

Thoughts on Candace owens becoming catholic?
To be frank, I don't feel like it's my business. I think I've only ever heard snippets of her podcast, but I don't listen to her/follow her (or any political commentator for that matter). I'm a conservative, but being a conservative by no means makes someone a right-on Christian for sure. Most make idolatry and religiosity out of politics these days. If she is a Catholic that shows a lack of theological discernment on her end, but I don't know her, so what can I say?
Just stick to the Bible. When one does this, I think the fallacies and holes of Catholic dogma become apparent.

by Karen Lehrman Bloch
You talk a lot about “emotional manipulation” — indoctrination, brainwashing. We couldn’t agree with you more: The Democratic Party, which is no longer liberal, have become experts at it.
But so have you. Because I don’t think you’re lacking in facts as much as you pretend to be. On the subject of Israel, you seem to want to believe leftist/Marxist lies.
But your followers are not, um, smart enough to see through your emotional manipulation. And they don’t want to. Most are ultra-nationalist white Christians who don’t like blacks or Jews. They’re willing to overlook your skin color because you incessantly attack blacks and Jews. What do you think they would do if you stopped?
For instance, what if you started to focus on the hundreds of thousands of black slaves across North Africa and the Middle East — owned by Arabs, the very same Arabs you are now aligned with? This has been going on since the Arabs invaded Africa in the seventh century. Do you think that maybe you’ve been emotionally manipulated by the very same people who call all blacks abidin, meaning “slaves”?
As you repeatedly say, all your life Jews have been very good to you — both as friends and employers. But you’ve now attached yourself to the ultra-nationalist/neo-isolationist wing of the GOP, and they, like their parents and grandparents, don’t like Jews. Instead of trying to reconcile this, as an honest person would, you’ve taken the antisemitic way out: blaming Jews for antisemitism.
