GRAYSTRIPE TIME! YES! I LOVE THE GUY!

Honestly one thing about TPB cast of apprentices that always sticks out to me is how they conform under the code. Dustpelt and Sandstorm are the conventional warriors while Fireheart, Graystripe and Ravenpaw are not. Ravenpaw has to flee the clans but even when it's safe to return he finds peace outside of the system.

But back to Graystripe specifically, his relationship with his two litters are wasted by the Erin's and in the case of his second it feels like they completely forgot being a father was important to him in the first arc? Like in the first arc it's implied fathers aren't involved with plenty of queens simply not stating a mate. Crookedstar and Graystripe are made out to be exceptions to the rule. Going with his kids to Riverclan is not even considered an option as its so unheard of. Then he starts a new family within the clan that he can be openly loving with and just... isn't? TPB Graystripe would NEVER.

There was so much potential. With Blossomfall specifically I wish she would keep her insecurity with both parents. What if SHE thought that Graystripe greived Feathertail more than he cared for her alive and in the same clan? That her and her siblings were second fiddle to his first litter?

TPB Graystripe's fatherhood was actually very present and special! It really is a shame that they shove him into the background of his second litter's personal struggles

And I really, really think it's because the Erins are both incapable of 'killing their darlings', AND will usually reach for a mother to be the problem in a relationship.

Rainflower, Lizardstripe, Millie, Cinders, Nightcloud, Sparkpelt*... even Palebird and Daisy get more scrutiny than their husbands, with Tallstar vowing to get revenge for his dad and feeling pushed aside by his mother getting a new mate, and Daisy having to feel guilty that SHE didn't make an effort to let Smoky feel like a dad.

*= ive written at length about how I like Sparkpelt's actions in ASC, but that doesn't mean she isn't part of a problematic trend, like Bristlefrost's death in TBC

When dads have problems in WC, they're generally framed as being more reasonable or sympathetic, like they were too permissive, or being undermined by their mate, or just... aren't blamed for being utterly absent.

So if Graystripe's kittens are having emotional problems? They just can't have Graystripe present because then, well, he might be somewhat responsible! So they just barely mention him, using Millie as the basis for Blossomfall's problems.

It reminds me so, so much of PO3 and how the minute Squirrelflight's Secret was out, Brambleclaw basically disowns his children, and that just never gets reckoned with. Because the narrative decides that he's right to be hurt, it decides that he's also totally right to treat every single person in his life the way that he does.

And it sucks! It sucks because there's SO MUCH you could do with this stuff! Graystripe having problems with his second litter because of his unresolved trauma surrounding Silverstream is INTERESTING. I WANT to see what he's thinking and feeling. I WANT to see him have issues with his kids, be conflicted between standing up for them or alienating Millie.

It's such a waste.

The Path to Hell is paved with good intentions

I think what is interesting is the drive that is the Autobots and Decpeticons. Mostly the cause of the Decpeticons and Megatron himself.

Alot of the time we see Megatron to be a crazy, battle hungry, warlord whos hel bent of causing destruction, conquering all in his path and who cares only about his goal to rule.

Over the years we have seen many version of Megatron. From silly goofy villain who's somtiems could acutally be a threat like in g1, to pash, cold, cunning like TFA, to being a crazy war lord who is incredibly cruel in TFP.

But these versions are mostly a Megatron who came from fighting, or had no good intentions to begin with besides being selfish or power hungry.

Then you have TFE and IDW/IDW2 (and possibly tf one). A different apprich to a character. Some may say its to make someone who has done cruel things as more sympathetic. But I think adds depth and personality.

Giving more than a crazy leader with silly goons, to a person who genuinely thought at the beginning, "I want things to change, for the better ,because it is broken"

Much howOptimus, the humble data clerk (hate he is a cop in idw tbh) and the hard working miner. Your everyday ppl, going through diffenrt struggles and honestly. I think woukd be fair to say that Orion wouldn't know the struggles of lower level bots that don't even have proper names..

Like D-16. The mech whis become Megatron.

Both Optimus and Megatron i think wnates to see a change , but how they both went about it i what added the conflict.

These two are basically your average everyday people. Megatron was an average everyday person. He wasn't born into the pits, net a warrior. A worker.

I think with alot of cartoon "villains" to we get older and started to see from a adult perspective. "Oh wait they are making sense." And how MESSED up the situation even was to drive these characters to this point.

Its no longer good vs evil, it is two ideals fighting aginst each other. What was once a fight for what these two sides believes in, turned into warfare and blood shed. To the mentality of Megatron being

"I can't trust anyone to right thing, besides me. I am the only one who can fix this, I can lead us."

You know what I could also see Optimus having the SAME mentality when comes to fighting megatron and restoring Cybertron. They are very much two sides of the same coin. I think that's what adds to the conflict between them. Optimus could be one bad day away from becoming Megatron onnthe sense of wanting to control the situation despite what costs just to not se Megatron when.

And you know he HAS done this. Yeeting the allspark for one to not let Megatron have ir but at the cost of Cybteron and its occupance. It was a loose loose situation regardless.

When it comes to alt-modist mentality, this high class vs low class, and the corruption of Cybertron. It is no wonder why so many people believes in the Decpeticon causes.

The reason why I clung so hard to Transformers Earthspark Megatron is because this was a break out from his character. To later learn it definitely took inspo from IDW who explored this character further sealed my admiration for him.

No one in the tf universe is less or more guilty. Both sides have done HORRIBLE things. Experimentation, brutality, killing innocence and their own soldiers just to get the won up. The autobots are not without their own blood shed. Only SOME of the autobots have a bit more regard for life and the planet they sit on. It doenst mean all of them do, and it doenst mean people within the groups around Optimus like it. But because they are painted as good guys we exapect them to.

Its when Decpeticons seem to take an interest in life do I find it way more compelling because it is out of their characteristics. They are the "bad guys"

They are still PEOPLE. With interests and hobbies, internal conflicts and hesitations.

To see a Megatron not only fight aginst his own army , but take a human, a HUMAN as a friend that he TRUSTS?! That he gave up his Cybertronian already mode UP FOR?! Thats a bug FUCKING deal.

Just the contrast to TFW Megs to say TFP. Tfp depsite it beingbbetter for camouflage NEVER changes his alt mode. He is never willing to acutally change, he is so deeply rooted in what he is, who he is. What he is doing. That he is unwilling to change to the surroundings. No the surrounding will change BECAUSE of him.

While TFE realized a change was needed to fix things, to work together, to show I AM CHANGING, I WANT TO DO THE RIGHT THING.

This is not a Slander Optimus rant or a WOW Megatron is such a great guy essay.

WHAT IS THE FIGHT SCENE CONVEYING? (an incomplete list)

Episode 2 - Straw Hats vs. Buggy: Again, we are getting themes of teamwork - they all have to pitch in together to take care of Buggy. However, this also shows us that Luffy is clever in his own way - he strategizes really well on the fly. Even while actively getting his ass kicked, he's able to observe his opponent and figure out how to bring him down. It also shows a bit more of the "captain" coming out - they still don't want to think of themselves as "his crew," but Zoro and Nami follow his lead in battle without hesitation.

(Luffy's ability to win over disparate people's respect and affection is especially poignant when contrasted with Buggy, who has had to force people, with threats of violence, to pretend to like him.)

Episode 3 - Kuro vs. Merry: This is not really a fight, per se, since Merry can't fight back, but it establishes 1) How ruthless Kuro is and 2) How fucking fast he is. Now we know what we're dealing with and can start getting worried (so when they pull out the Slasher flick vibes next episode, we're Right There with Nami and Kaya, feeling that fear).

It's also doing something else that I didn't pick up on my first time through, because it's specifically doing it for people who know the manga/anime. I came into this mostly canon-blind for the original One Piece - I knew broad strokes of some of the arcs and I was familiar with the premise, but that's all. In the time since I watched it, though, I've gotten into the manga a bit, so I picked up on this when I went back to watch the scene again for this post.

It's establishing for fans who know the original that they don't know what's going to happen. That characters they thought were safe might not be safe. That Merry can die - and so, by extension, can others. Now these people, too, will be scared - not just here, but in other fights, too. If they'll kill off Merry, who else might not be safe? Kaya? Zeff? Nojiko? All kinds of lovable supporting characters whose survival is now not guaranteed. It means that all the work they put into making things exciting and suspenseful isn't going to waste, because now even people who know how the manga goes are subject to the same uncertainty as the rest of us.

Episode 4 - Zoro vs. Black Cat Pirates: Okay, this one is mostly for Spectacle, but it also gives a lovely bit of character work since this is the first time we're seeing Zoro fight since getting his Backstory Flashback earlier in the episode. We know what the third sword means to him now. We get it when Sham takes it from him, what that means and why he prioritizes getting it back.

Episode 4 - Luffy vs. Kuro: We got a bit of this also with Buggy, but it's an important theme, so they spend a lot of time on it - how confident Luffy is in who he is and what he wants, and how stubbornly he trusts in his friends. Many, many baddies are going to try and do this, to attack his self-esteem or tell him to Be Less Like Himself, and none of them are going to succeed, ever, because Luffy knows exactly who he is.

Episode 5 - Sanji vs. Those Two Guys: Look, here's the thing. There are two things Sanji is good at and those are 1) cooking and 2) kicking people in the face. So that's what his first two scenes gotta show him doing! It's less than 3 minutes, his introduction, and they hit their marks perfectly. Point one, amazing cooking, point two, cussing at Zeff, point three, kicking shitheads in the face. It's such a neat little package. Beautifully done. This is how you introduce a major character in the back half of an eight-episode season - you need to show us who he is, what he wants, and why we should care immediately. And they do! By the end of Sanji's introduction scene I was sold on him as a character.

I think I'll need to do another post for the rest, but the one last thing I want to point out is that, like my earlier post, this post is also analyzing five separate fights. And it takes us into episode 5. I just want to point that out again because it is remarkable to me that they managed to fit 5 combat scenes into one episode for the premiere. They had so much they had to do in that one episode and the fact that they pulled it off impresses me so much I'm still boggling at it, something like 8 months later.

✧ ˚ 　· 　　 . there's just something about you that billy hargrove is drawn to and after fighting it for weeks, everything comes to a head when billy hargrove realizes he can't fight it anymore.. pt 1 of 3✧ ˚ 　· 　　 .

Billy Hargrove is a master at blending in. Seeming normal. But the second that he hit Hawkins High, you sensed something darker.. More akin to an animal than a human. As a result, you went above and beyond to avoid him - even when all your friends collectively lost their minds over him.

As a result, Billy Hargrove seemed to sense something in you that made him seek you out, no matter the length you went to. 

The scary part is that the guy is a constant in your brain. You can sense when he’s around. Lingering. Watching you with ocean blue bedroom eyes. Like a predator stalking his prey minutes before the kill. 

It’s a day like any other, the only out of the ordinary thing being that it’s the day of a full moon night. Nobody seems to notice or care, but to Billy, the timing means everything. It has him on edge from the time he wakes up in the morning, each step closer to being trapped with you inside Hawkins High all damn day when he knows what's coming, it's got him moodier than normal. - This happens when the bond is challenged. - the thought comes but Billy turns up the radio in his car to ignore it on purpose. The less he thinks about you. The less he thinks about the things he'd like to do to you, the better off he'll be. He just has to ride this out, that's all.

As the blue Camaro pulls to a stop in front of Hawkins Middle School, Billy shatters the silence between himself and his younger stepsister, Max.

❝ Stay the fuck away from the arcade tonight. Come straight home. I mean it, shitbird, I..❞ he’s tense. The hand that isn’t holding his cigarette is white-knuckle gripping the wheel. Max starts off angry, but then she stops to think.. Billy’s wolf side has been more.. Enhanced.. Since the move to Hawkins earlier this month. He’s quicker to anger, he’s meaner than usual. He’s almost went full wolf at least three times, one of them being during a very public -and very major, sporting event.

Max stares at him for a second. ❝ Not that I care or anything, but..❞ Max asks, pausing for a second as she rubs the bridge of her nose and stares out the window before turning to look at him again. ❝ What are you nearly killing yourself to try and avoid lately?❞

Billy’s laughter at the question is dry. He thumps the half-smoked cigarette out the window, no regard to being on school property. And after staring out the windshield in the direction of Hawkins High, he speaks again.

It’s quieter. More reminiscent of the boy he used to be, sweet and sensitive, before Neil beat it all out of him. ❝ I found her, Max..❞

At first, Max is confused. But then she remembers a conversation between a slightly younger Billy and a drunker than usual Neil. Neil was telling Billy that at a certain age, the wolf side will fight it’s way out. And it will fixate on the nearest female similar to him who happens to catch it’s attention. The way Neil explained it, this was to be ignored because it would only ruin Billy’s life like it had ruined his. They called it mating season.

But Max has never agreed with anything Neil’s ever said, so when she heard Neil filling Billy’s head with garbage about the whole thing, she instantly wrote it off. Now, she’s older. Old enough to understand that the weight of this bond could be powerful. All-consuming and conquering. And maybe fighting it so hard was only going to drive Billy speeding straight down the same path as his father.

When Max’s smaller hand settles on his forearm and she sighs, Billy flinches. Baby blue eyes fix intently on his stepsister’s hand and where it rests. ❝ And you’re fighting it.. Right?❞ Max asks, curious.

Billy’s jaw flutters. He doesn’t nod, he doesn’t do or say anything else for a few seconds, but when a shaking hand reaches for the half-crushed pack of cigarettes sitting on the dashboard of the car, Max grabs his hand and shakes her head. ❝ Haven’t you figured out by now that Neil is a bad person? And the wolf side, that’s not the reason why? It just makes him more dangerous, Billy.. But you.. You don't have to end up like him.❞

❝ Save it, Max.❞ Billy snaps. ❝ He’s right. It’s only gonna destroy me because she’ll leave too. Just like…❞ his voice fades but his mind conjures up the two most important female figures entirely too easy. Too realistic. There’s his mother, behind him. In the past. And he’s watching her drive away without bothering to look back. Then there’s you, in front of him.. The girl who can’t get away from him fast enough whenever your paths cross. The girl he seeks out. Desperately.

Even Tommy Hagan tells him it’s pathetic the way he keeps popping up around you.

But if I hadn’t last weekend, he thinks to himself, hand clenching around the steering wheel even tighter, that motherfucker would have happily taken her to his backseat. 

Max clears her throat. ❝ Is it that girl who practically ran from you at Big Buy two nights ago? Is she your.. You know..❞

Billy nods solemnly. Then he rubs a hand over his face. ❝ Just stay th’ fuck away from the arcade tonight, shitbird. I can’t pick you up and Neil will kill us both if you’re walking home in the dark.❞

❝ What does any of this have to do with you finding her, hm?❞

❝ Because!❞ he shouts, a hand slamming against the dash in anger. He swears under his breath and for just a little bit, like he always does whenever he scares her, he feels like a monster.

Like the worst guy in the world.

❝ She’s going t’ see some stupid fucking movie with her friends tonight, alright? That’s too close to the arcade and I…❞ he punches the dash again because even as he sits in his idling car in front of Hawkins Middle, he’s pulled to you. He knows you’re over at the high school somewhere and it’s taking everything he possesses not to rush off, straight to you.

Max is waiting. But then something else hits her. Something she’d previously given up on.

Somewhere, buried deep down inside the asshole she calls a stepbrother, there might just be a shred of good. A spark of hope.. And now that he’s found you, he’s trying so hard to fight it because he knows that if you reject him too, he’s as good as fucked. And he’s only got Neil as an example of any kind of ‘bond’. 

Neil was so mean and violent that he ran Billy’s mother off. Neil is the one who destroyed the bond, not Billy’s mother. 

Right now, Max thinks, Billy’s trying to protect himself.. And her.. Because he knows that the full moon will make him more powerful. So he’s trying to avoid her.. So he can’t hurt her. Or be hurt by her. 

❝ Okay, alright.. I’ll just grab my Michael Myers mask and go trick or treating instead or something. Maybe I can find those kids and scare the shit out of them. Fair enough?❞ she asks.

Billy gives a solemn nod. As he drives away, Max watches the car.

Meanwhile, at Hawkins High, you’re in the girls bathroom with your best friends, trying to put the finishing touches on your makeup. As you slick on candy apple colored lipstick, Fiona is talking nonstop about something that you’re not even paying much attention to.

❝ Oh come on!❞ Fiona throws up her hands in exasperation when you shake your head after she’s badgered you for the sixth time this week to show up to Tina’s Halloween bash. It’s kind of a big deal for anyone outside the inner circle to be invited, much less anybody in the junior class who also happens to be outside the small and tight-knit inner circle.

❝ Fiona, stop.. I’m not going. It’s not happening.❞

❝ Okay, well.. When we miss the implosion of Hawkins High’s answer to Princess Diana and Prince Charles, I don’t wanna hear you bitching.❞

You roll your eyes. Pop a big bubble with your favorite strawberry flavored gum and mimic her. ❝ They invited us as a joke, Fi.. I dunno why the fuck you can’t see that.❞ you remark. As Dolores pushes open the door to the bathroom, you catch a fleeting glimpse of Billy Hargrove as he lingers out in the hallway. Leaned against the vacant locker right next to yours.

You roll your eyes again, turn your attention to Dolores. ❝ Gimme.❞ and when Dolores gives you a sheepish look, you tug at your teased hair. Dolores apologizes and then explains that her mother caught her trying to buy you the carton of cigarettes the night before and she took them away.

And apparently, she’s also taken away the vodka Dolores had stashed for the movie matinee at the Hawk tonight, too.

❝ I thought your mom was the cool one, D.❞ you’re pouting a little and Dolores sighs, rubbing her forehead. ❝ She was until she started screwing that guy she met at work.. Now she’s trying to make us look like the fucking Cleavers.. She even cooked last night, girl..❞

You nearly choke on your chewing gum.

Fiona clears her throat. ❝ Tell her we need this party experience, D. C’mon, please?❞

Dolores laughs and shakes her head. ❝ Oh absolutely not. Do you really think I’m eager to see what cruel prank they’ll have in store if we’re dumb enough t’ show our faces? We’re underclassmen and we’re not in with their crowd.❞

Fiona huffs at both of you, annoyed. ❝ Screw the both of you. I’m fuckin goin.❞

You and Dolores share a look and shrug. You’re staring at the closed bathroom door intently and Dolores speaks up, smirking at you. ❝ Hot date waiting, girl?❞

You flip her off. The urge to run out of the bathroom and the feeling that the walls are closing in all of a sudden is overwhelming. You can feel your throat getting tighter. You can feel yourself tense up. 

You can feel him watching you out in the hall.. Through a closed bathroom door.

And there’s something inside you that longs to rush out the door and straight up to him.

Instead, you choose the lesser of two evils and you gather your books, sling your backpack over your shoulders and shove right between Carol Perkins and Tina as they’re walking in. You rush down the hall and straight outside, around the building to the area where the smokers all hang out.

You’re just about to bum a cigarette off of Catherine Cortlandt, a girl in your Science class when you feel a tap to your shoulder.

You whirl around and find yourself body to body with Billy Hargrove and you nearly choke on your chewing gum. You stare up at him for a second or two. He takes hold of your hand and places his pack of Reds in your hand, closing your hands around the pack and his hand around yours.

And there’s something different in his eyes today.. Wilder and yet somehow, calm. Animal and yet somehow, tame.

He’s not just looking at you like you’re his prey right now, either. 

You step just a little closer. And after a few seconds of heavy mental debate, rather than turning and bolting immediately, you speak up softly. ❝ I, uh.. How’d you know I wanted a cigarette?❞

He chuckles. Shrugs instead of answering. He snatches his hands away from your hands and the second his grip is gone, you frown a little.

Which is a surprise for you because typically, given that you always feel like prey around him, it’s not as if you’re going out of your way to touch -or be touched by him.  You take a cigarette from the pack and he takes it back. Just the little bit of contact has you pouting just a little.

Your brows knit together. This is confusing for you.

Good luck avoiding her, dumb fuck. - the thought is so clear that you’re looking at him, your head tilted just a little. He shuffles his feet against the gravel. You study him intently. He feels sadder today. There’s just this air of doom lingering.

You step closer.

Billy tenses slightly. Your hand raises, settling against a fresh bruise on his jaw. You purse your lips and sigh quietly. ❝ I wish you’d stop fighting everybody with a goddamn pulse.❞ you mutter after a second or two. You don’t say anything about what you think you’ve heard him say out loud, mostly because you’re hoping he’ll clarify.

Before either of you can say -or do, anything else, the bell to begin school for the day rings.

You’re rushing away before he can say another word. But he’s left there in his own confusion, because like with you, he could’ve sworn he heard you say something out loud.

He confuses me and he scares me. But I can’t stop thinking about him. I can’t stop wanting him. He’s dangerous but I feel like I’m completely safe with him. 

By the time he strolls into homeroom a good five minutes late, you’re already seated in your seat across the classroom, doodling on a sheet of notebook paper like always. You barely pay attention to anything the teacher says.

It’s science, it might as well be written in a dead language to you.

You’re only half listening when the teacher tells you that you’ll be paired to work with a partner for this unit because there’s a special project to do at the end. As the teacher calls off names for each group, you’re doodling on your homework -an essay on Fahrenheit 451, you’re trying to figure out why Billy Hargrove suddenly wants to avoid you when he’s spent nearly a whole month popping up constantly.

And you’re trying to figure out why the hell this bothers you so much and why it feels like you need to do something. You’re almost desperate to keep him from avoiding you.

Like he’s a part of you.

❝ Ms. __ and Mr. Hargrove, you two will be working together.❞ the teacher’s words cut through his intense daze and baby blue eyes settle on you to find you staring at him already for once.

His heart flutters. His stomach twists in knots. He knows that today is the worst day you could’ve chosen to suddenly seem to be aware of the way he likes to linger close. The way he’s always quick to intervene when it comes to you.

Billy’s not making any move to come to you, so you gather your books and you make your way over to him. And as soon as you’re sitting beside him, the jittery feeling you’ve had since you woke up this morning starts to subside. Just like it did when we were together in the smokers pit outside. - the thought comes and you’re mulling it over.

❝ If this involves any cuttin' or anything, doll.. I've got it.❞

After he says it, he doesn't say anything else. You can feel the tension in him, he's sitting beside you practically folded into himself.

Something is wrong with him. - the thought comes and with it, the compulsion you can't seem to fight today, the urge to get closer. To be the calm for him if you can. This leads to you, leaning in just a little closer and the second you do that, Billy’s breath hangs in his throat and he freezes, swallowing down both a lump in his throat and the prickling sensation of sharp fangs beneath his gums. What you're doing is dangerous but one quick read of your current emotional state, - something he likes to think he's gotten pretty good at and he hates that he has., - that tells him that somehow, you’re totally unaware of what you’re doing and you only want to comfort him.

❝ Sorry, I just...❞ you trail off, muttering under your breath about how weird today has been. Billy rubs the bridge of his nose and sits there, staring at you while you fill out the pre-lab assessment that the teacher just handed out. He spots the mistake in the sloppily drawn Punnett Square before you do and he reaches over, carefully sliding the pencil out of your hand. You pause to look over at him, a brow raised and between the sweet scent you’re putting off and the way you're just barely leaned against his muscular body, he gets overwhelmed.

❝ You, uh.. You’re doin' it all wrong.❞ he mutters, irritated at himself because he's the new King here. Kings don't stumble over their words. Kings do what they want, they take what they want and nothing ever, under any circumstance, scares them.

And yet, he thinks, here you are, terrified of her. Of the connection. 

When you hear him speak again, you sit there, a brow raised. Because you know he hasn't said a word this time and yet, you're hearing him, that same smooth and easy voice. 

This whole damn day is weird. - the thought comes and it's so loud, so persistent that Billy puts down the pencil to look over at you for a second or two. Just as he's about to get back to fixing the numerous mistakes you made, you look up. Right at him, your finger caught in one of your curls. When you bite your lip and blink, he shifts in his seat and fights off a growl.

You're wearing a different perfume today. He's starting to think he likes it better than the usual cotton candy-esque stuff you usually prefer.. - because when it mixes with her natural smell, she smells just like strawberry pound cake. Like the ones my mom baked me before she cut out. - the thought has him strained against faded denim painfully and Billy gives an abrupt cough as he shifts around in his seat yet again.

Irene said he's a jerk. Why can't I stop thinking about him..why do I dream about him nonstop? I know he's dangerous, why do I feel pulled to him?

When he hears this, he's even harder. He coughs abruptly again and it startles you because you jump a little, glancing over at him just as he's finished the first page of exercises.

I feel like I'm on fucking fire. Why is it so hot? - this thought has him pausing. Glancing over at you again just in time to see you fan yourself with the composition book you always carry.

She doesn't know what's happening. That might be dangerous, especially now that I know of at least two other Alphas here. - the thought comes just as he feels you lean into him even more. The scent of you is so amplified that he feels like he's going to lose his goddamn mind, go feral right here in front of the entire homeroom Science class.

❝ I'm so boreddd.❞ you mumble as you breathe in the scent of cologne and cigarette, something underneath it all that you can't put a finger on but you know it's Billy, you always catch a whiff of it when he's near. It's different today..Stronger. More appealing, if that's at all possible. You hate admitting it to yourself but you've been painfully aware of him since he hit Hawkins High at the beginning of the month.

❝ Your cologne..❞ you speak up, that dreamy little hushed voice of yours putting him in a daze for just a few seconds. Then he chuckles. Licks his lips as he locks eyes with you for as long as he dares. ❝ Yeah? What about my cologne, darling?❞

❝ It smells delicious.❞ the second you blurt it out you want to die on the spot.

Could I be a bigger airhead right now? Really? And why am I  flirting and all snuggled up on him anyway, huh? - the ringing of the bell has you springing away. Before he can even process you've gone, you're out in the hallway.

An unmated - and totally clueless, Omega loose in a high school with at least three Alphas. Also unmated, at least for the most part.

He swears under his breath and grabs his notebooks, rushing out just in time to catch the first of the two other unmated Alphas, Jason, a younger little shit that's way too full of himself, as Jason corners you up.

You're still puzzling out the events of the day so far when you feel a tap to your left shoulder. You whirl around quick. But it's too quick and it puts you body to body with Jason, some little prick the grade below. Another one of the popular boys that feels 'off' to you and you avoid at all costs. As he stands there in all his fake-ass Ken doll glory, you raise a brow.

Yep. The elevator definitely stops way before the top floor with that one. I think I'd better go.. - this one is accompanied by the follow up thought, of all the days he could pick to stop lurking, it's seriously today?

This thought reaches Billy’s awareness and he makes himself stand firm. Watching the situation like a hawk, because he might be trying to keep what he knows is happening from happening but the fact remains.. the wolf inside him still views you very much it's property. 

A few deep breaths down. Jason is still chatting you up and you're either too polite or too oblivious to pick up on the very obvious territorial cues he's throwing your way. The bell is about to ring and frankly, you've had more than enough from Jason by this point so you side step him.

Here's the thing..when you do this, Jason doesn't care for it. So he steps into your way all over again and he's taller. Stockier. 

You gulp.

Billy growls to himself. ❝ Here we fuckin go.❞ he grumbles as he shoves his way through a throng of students and stops behind you, clearing his throat.

That calm thousand yard stare in his eyes as he laughs at the younger Alphas audacity. Who the fuck does this kid think he is? Can't he pick up on the fact she's mine, mated or not? And I don't like sharing anything.. - the thought comes, it's enough to make him clench his jaw and the calm stare intensifies as he boldly holds Jason's challenging gaze and smirks even more.

❝ There you are, doll. Turn my back ten seconds and assholes are all over you, huh?❞ he’s really pressing himself into you and as he does, he whispers quiet against the shell of your ear, ❝ For your own good, play along..❞

Jason looks from you to Billy, his gaze lingering on you just a little too long for Billy’s liking. Billy steps up into your backside even more and as you feel how hard he is through his jeans, you can feel your knees buckle just the slightest. Just enough. And your thighs clench so damn tight to stop the flood between your thighs.

Oh Jesus. It feels like it’s huge, guess that answers the question why a good half of the girls in town went totally stupid when he moved here… Including me, sadly. - the thought bombards him as you’re having it, distracting to a point where there’s at least a second or two in which he just glares hatefully at Jason instead of saying something. Or doing something.

Jason’s a special kind of stupid, Billy already knows this, the guy came knocking a while back under the guise of ‘talking’ to his younger stepsister. So when the fact that Billy’s practically wearing you like an article of clothing due to how close you’re standing doesn’t seem to have any bearings or stop him from stepping up into you from the front, effectively placing you the filling in a teenage werewolf sandwich, Billy’s done playing vague little games.

He brushes some hair away from your neck and noses against your soft skin, giving Jason another bold smirk the whole time. You’re trying to play along and act as if this is totally the norm for you, but deep down, every part of you wants to whine out.. Because Billy Hargrove’s rough lips shouldn’t feel so good against your neck. You should be running right now, not standing there helpless. Normally, you would've already shut Jason Carver's bullshit down and shoved past him.

Billy feels you melt into him. He also feels every ounce of the confusion you’re feeling at the moment. Because he’s been fighting the pull to you almost a month at this point -and losing badly. He knows it’s a bad idea to crave the connection. He knows it’s an even worse idea to be this close to you on a full moon day/night.

I shouldn’t have fuckin come today. Shoulda stayed home. It’s dangerous for her to be so close. It’s dangerous for me too but that’s something I’ll get into later.

The stand-off between the two boys seems to come to an end, with the shocking twist that Jason looks at you and apologizes for the misunderstanding. Your brow raises. He wasn’t really doing anything but being a little weird. Like usual.

Once Jason is gone, you whirl around to thank Billy for showing up when he did but to your surprise, he’s already walking away. He’s doing it so fast it’s almost as if you repel him. The complete opposite of the way he normally tends to be with you, always lingering. Watching. Managing to pop up just when your mind wanders and thoughts of him seem to fill it.

You stare after him and sigh, ultimately shaking your head. Blowing out a ragged breath as your hand tangles in a mess of thick and teased hair.

❝ That entire thing wasn’t weird, not even a little..❞ you mumble to yourself as you shake your head.

You don’t see Billy for the rest of the day. Which is unusual, considering he’s always lurking somewhere close. By the time the day ends, all you want to do is get home and get ready for your movie matinee at the Hawk with your friends.

Maybe a little harmless trick-or-treating with your baby brother and younger sister first. You’ve put the whole bizarre day out of your head.. Or you’ve tried to.

My diagnosis is that he needs a raise. I know it's his first day on the job blah blah blah, he needs a raise. He just inherited a mess! Give him sth nice!

Seems like a decent guy, bit strict but he's charming in the way a rock is charming I guess. As a protagonist you can sense potential here, dude is interesting, intelligent and a theatre kid, given by how he narrates. Grumpy academic men are always cool.

As a first episode it is flawless, it sets the vibe, the tone, presents you the main character and it leaves you longing for more. Which it's fine because, you know, there are 200 episodes.

"I have a lot of respect for Ichiro, both as a person and an emcee. Despite being the youngest out of TDD, he was, without a doubt, the leader of the quartet. In our free time, he and I often liked to sit back and discuss the concept of 'music', and where we both thought that it was heading towards. His opinions were very thought-provoking, which is why I enjoyed talking with him. I always gained more knowledge each time I walked away from him."

"I haven't heard much from him nowadays. If he isn't looking after his hometown of Ikebukuro, he's taking care of his younger siblings. All by himself, I might add. He's truly a man worthy of respect."

Samatoki Aohitsugi

"Samatoki was definitely the group's most hard-hitting rapper. Though I didn't care much for his arrogant attitude and short disposition, you had to give the guy credit when it came to rapping. His lyrics and lines, I felt, always had a lot of pent-up anger beneath it, at least near the end of TDD's reign. However, that's one of the reasons I respected his rhyme flow. He said what he meant, and meant what he said. And damn anyone who had a problem with it."

He was definitely the most carefree member of the group. In fact, I often wondered if he ever took anything at all seriously. Despite that, he was an efficient rapper. When Jakurai informed me that Ramuda was the one who taught him to rap, I was surprised. But like I said before, you can't judge a book by its cover."

"Aside from our usual talks, I didn't have much interaction with Ramuda. He was an easygoing person, but... I don't know, it's just... something about him always made me think that he was... hiding something. "Jakurai was the oldest of TDD, and sort of the 'father' of the group, if that makes sense. Basically, while he wasn't the 'leader', per se, he was the one the others looked to for advice. I don't know if it was because of his appearance and age, or just the way that he carried himself. Even I had to admit that, despite only being a year older than me, even I was in marvel of some of the things that came out of this man's mouth. It's like whenever he spoke, you just had to stop and listen. I suppose that's why his lyrics are so hard to understand at times. Basically, they're not meant to be taken in in one setting; rather, you have to meditate on them. That's just my interpretation, anyway."

"Besides that, I hear that he is doing work in Shinjuku as a physician. I was shocked when I saw that he and his team, Matenro, won the first D.R.B. I was, and still am, truly happy for him."

Sasara Nurude

"You know, people have always told me I have a dry sense of humor. Everyone else could be laughing at something funny, while I'm just sitting or standing there wondering what exactly is so humorous. My son is a big fan of him, but the only thing of note this guy has is his rapping skills, which I've heard during his time with Samatoki when the two of them formed the rap duo, Mad Comic Dialogue. "I don't know much about Kuko, other than the fact that he and Ichiro were, at one point, part of a rap duo called the Naughty Busters. The one and only spider-woman

Ok let's start this from the beginning. And I mean the very beginning.

My name is Noa O'Hara. I know what you're thinking. He wasn't the Miguel you're thinking of. My universe is number 2023. Pretty different from his isn't it.

For the past year I have been the one and only spider woman. At least in my universe. I was bitten by a radioactive spider that gave me freaky powers and now I'm here. I think you know the rest.

I made a suit. Got a job. It's at a Cafe not the stereotypical photographer at the fault bugle. My dad got a raise at his job at the NYPD precinct. Everything was going great! Until the one time it didn't.

My tío Gabriel died in a confrontation against some guy trying to start a shootout at a mall. He, the good samaritan, tried to help and consequently got hurt. Seriously hurt. I tried to get him to help but he died right in my arms.

Something I learned very quickly is you can't save everyone when you play superhero. There is always gonna be someone you didn't see, didn't catch, didn't block. It's a curse that I have learned to live with. The guilt weighs heavy.

Worst thing is my dad holds me responsible…kind of. He saw the security footage of me trying to save my tío, but the anger phase of his grieving process still haunts me sometimes. I wonder, if tio hadn't died, would I have the confidence to tell papà? Maybe I would, but I can't concentrate on the what ifs.

My window barely makes a creek as I sneak my way in. The red light from my alarm clock illuminates the room just enough for me to not trip and fall on my ass. I quickly change out of my suit and into my pyjamas. It's a hassle with how tight the material is but I can manage.

My feet pad silently across the cold tile as I make my way to the kitchen. The door to dad's room is closed, so I don't have to worry about walking him. He's a deep sleeper most days anyways.

I'm halfway done serving myself a bowl of coco puffs when the light turns on and I cringe. The excess light hurts my eyes as I spin in a circle to find the culprit. Papà.

"A little late for a snack don't you think?" He Gruffs, his voice still hoarse from sleep. I sigh at the prospect of being caught, but then again I should have thought higher of the soon to be captain of the police force.

"Perdoname papà, I didn't mean to wake you" I apologize. I dont worry about the fact that I am awake or getting something to eat since he does this himself a lot too. My back turns to him as I continue doing what I started in the dark.

I hear him let out a sigh before the sound of his footsteps approaching fills the room. He leans against the counter beside me silently for a second.

"You wanna talk about it?" He asks casually. It's a good attempt to make me open up. It would work on anyone else. But I'm not just anybody, at least not anymore.

"About what papà?" I shoot back without a glance. He can read me like an open book and if our eyes meet I'm done for. He knows this. I know this. Anyone that knows us knows this.

"Why you're up late?"

"Couldn't sleep"

"Anything bothering you?"

"Not at the moment no"

"Preciosa"

My movements halt with a clang of my spoon. He knows something has been up even before tio Gabriel's accident, he just can't tell what. Never before have we been this distante and it's killing the both of us really.

"Nothing's really wrong Papà. I'm just having a hard time sleeping that's all"

A hand squeezes my shoulder lightly and I turn my head to face him. He has that comforting look in his eyes, that soft smile he always gives me, and in general he just radiates comfort to me. It allows my walls to crack only slightly and I find myself hugging him not two seconds later.

"Sabes que me puedes decir lo que sea verdad?" He confirms, to which I nod my head.

"Ya se Papà. Y te lo voy a decir algún día, pero ahorita … no se como". The words escape no louder than a whisper, but he hears it all the same. I can tell by the way his arms tighten around me, but I don't very much care.

However somewhere in a universe far far away, a man watches through a screen. A frown deep set in his brow as the screen displays the scene. His red eyes ignorant to his own variant, and trained instead on the girl much like the one he lost all those years ago. He knows it's not her, but he can't help but imagine for a little longer.

"You haven't been out all morning since you checked this universe" a woman by the name of Lyla remarks, "your alright there boss?

A sigh escapes his lips before an automatic "I'm fine" tumbles out. The panel shuts off on command as he turns toward the hologram. "This kid completed a cannon event last year. Just making sure she's still on schedule for the next one" he excuses. His hand rubs over his face.

"When is her next one?" The woman asks hesitantly. It's the one thing she doesn't like about the job, having to hear about these kids loosing so much so quickly and so young.

"In about another year maybe, other minor ones might jump in first"

Miguel 2099 turns away from the displays entirely. With a tell tail thwip, he swings off the platform and down to the main floor. His head riddled with thoughts.

No, he schools himself, he won't allow himself to get attached. He has already lost his daughter twice does he really want to go for a third? No way. He won't let it happen.

And yet when he returns to his station later that night, an empanada less hungry now, he can't stop himself. He searches for the universe he discovered earlier and just watches. He can't stop himself from watching.

i've done everything i can do up to recruiting davrin.... so I'm not that far into the game, I think, and I have no idea, I might be wrong about all this, and it's just weird writing but things are feeling off guys :(

Did Varric survive the opening sequence?

chat.... I don't think so :( I really thought he did but I started growing more and more suspicious with each cutscene and I think it's time to prepare myself :(

Maybe this is preferable to him surviving and then being corrupted by the same lyrium idol that corrupted his brother but yeah, I don't think varric is really there because:

NO ONE TALKS TO HIM, no one visits him, no one talks ABOUT him in any way that would suggest he's recovering in the infirmary

NO ONE LOOKS AT HIM during cut scenes, or talks to him, or acknowledges his existence in any way :( Rook is the only one who talks to him/visits him/addresses him/looks towards him when varric talks :(

both harding and neve have talked about varric in a strange way. not confirming he's dead but in a sort of wistful way you might use when talking about someone who died and you're just at the edge of being able to think about them the way you remember them rather than as a corpse

neither bellara nor lucanis have spoken to varric AT ALL as far as I know, nor have they mentioned him??? wouldn't that be the first thing you do once you've been recruited?

the "power transition" was really weird to me because at first it did feel like they were just putting varric on bed rest so they could make me the main character. and I wondered why not harding? why not at least include her in that conversation.... unless of course it's all not real and varric was dead to begin with

that one line harding says at some point that goes sth like "if only I could have saved...." AND SHE STOPS TALKING! GIRL WHO! WHO!

solas seems very convinced he killed varric :( and then gives his typical cryptic non-answer when rook suggests he might not be dead :/

i really hope i'm wrong but honestly, i'm convinced now he's dead and no one but rook can see or hear him :( maybe he's a fade ghost, maybe he's a hallucination because we got our brains turned into scrambled eggs, maybe he's an echo? bound to bianca? maybe he died but left a piece of himself inside rook when we were knocked out and thrown into the fade?

or maybe..... it's not even varric :(

varric guiding us through the story bit by bit really fooled me :( how could he be dead when he's telling the story :( but one thing I noticed very early on is how different his tone is from how he told the story in da2? again this might just be a writing choice but it's strange how he almost sounds gleefully foreboding at the end of each sequence :/

He has not told us anything we don't already know..... his dialogue is full of varric-like quips but whenever he talks properly he's like "remember how I told you...remember when you did this.... remember when we did that"

he never once mentions bianca's status! he never once looks at her even though she is broken right beside him. he never once made an attempt to fix her BUT I did get one quip from him that went sth like "can't wait to get out there, bianca is getting impatient"....SIR SHE IS BROKEN WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ARE YOU JUST REPEATING COMMON VARRIC PHRASES WITHOUT CONTEXT?????

man I'm reaching but when solas and varric struggle there's a chime sound? as if the dagger went through the veil? and then there's like a fade tendril attached to the tip as solas pulls back???

and then there's all the fade light coming from the wound with the dagger still in it as if the fade itself was now inside his chest. when neve draggs him away later you can still see the green shimmer around his neck

varric looks very dead in the first scene in the lighthouse ... in fact he looks a lot like justice did .... but that could just be an artistic choice????.... his looks do improve after all.....dunno but it struck me as so familiar when I first saw it

and then when harding comes in and starts explaining where we are he gives you this look??? which is just a weird look? he looks like he's worried she might say too much right??? doesn't he???? that's not varric is it????

and lastly: WOULD VARRIC LET A BANDAGE STOP HIM FROM SHOWING OFF HIS CHEST HAIR! NO! :'(

so.... what if... we're being manipulated? something latched on? or maybe it's the dagger itself? we've been told over and over again in the last games that lyrium might be alive... maybe it was stuck in varric's chest long enough to learn about him and now we're the one carrying it around.... i dunno, seems strange because we already have two (three) antagonists but... i can't shake the feeling this is not varric :(

told you i was posting this au soon. this is the note titled "main headcanons" basically what I changed about the story. my oc is yurei, she, katsuki, and izuku are triplets and mama inko adopted Shiggy, and well just read it. also here's one of the many drawings I did for this au from left to right is Katsuki, Yurei, and Izuku

Midoriya Yurei

• Also born "Quirkless"

• Drowned while on vacation

• Quirk activated, resurrecting her

• Quirk - Ghost - she can float, go through walls, affect electronics and temperature, basically generic haunting stuff

• Do Not Erase Her Quirk She Will Die

• She can no longer be killed any other way, she'll just pop back up immediately, slightly beat up and very annoyed. She doesn't even get knocked out (but if its a great force she'll be knocked over because there are still a couple laws of physics she obeys), she just keeps going with a quickly healing wound like a very intelligent zombie. She uses this to save people, pushing them out of the way and taking the shot herself knowing she'll bounce back. The healing time varies between a couple seconds up to 15 minutes depending on the damage, as her body has to heal the "fatal" wound

• She also has really fast heal times, and rarely scars (because it's not actually healing, per se, it's more of a reset or regeneration)

• Loves plants, but her Quirk drains/wilts them, so she decorates with those aesthetic vine things

• She is an absolute cryptid. She goes to get a midnight snack, and the way her eyes glow and her poor posture makes Toshinori swear the next morning that he saw mothman or something

• Scary smart but only has one (1) braincell

• Her name means "ghost" horikoshi would be so proud 🥲

• Makes constant death jokes. Sometimes izuku joins in. Katsuki joins in a lot, and sometimes even starts it. Yurei and Tenko can bounce death jokes back and forth for HOURS

• Scared of large bodies of water, even swimming pools. Because feeling water fill your lungs and stop your heart at the ripe old age of twelve causes ✨️trauma✨️

• She has a tumblr. Her url is "schrodingers_hoarding_problem" (fun inside joke, the whole dead-and-alive thing), and she's unknowingly mutuals with Denki (Denki surprisingly puts two and two together and figures out who she is, sparking an amazing friendship)

• Yurei loves sitting on the roof, just. Chilling. On the roof.

• She semi-possesses Denki during his tests and helps him out. It takes a couple weeks before her brothers realise that the "soft, gentle voice in [denki's] head that's smarter than [him] and helps with [his] schoolwork" is actually their ghost sister trying to help

• She is very rarely in class, but she finishes her projects and gets good grades so her teachers chalk it up to "you can't contain a ghost" and "is she actually a student or is she just haunting the school?"

• Seriously touch starved. She would curl up with a statue if left alone too long, and heaven help you if you leave without giving her a hug.

• The triplets all have separation anxiety with each other, but Yurei has it with everyone she cares about. The thought that the last time she saw her loved ones was the LAST time she would see them is constantly in the back of her mind. Which is reasonable, seeing as she has died like three times already so knows lethal situations are much more common than most people are comfortable thinking about

• To be fair, Toga only tried to stab Yurei once, when they first met (she may not be a villain anymore but she still sometimes feels ✨️stabby✨️). And Yurei was intangible, so not even a scratch. Since then, they've been cutesy and dating like any other lesbian couple. Yurei even gifted Toga a hello kitty knife, because "it's cute and dangerous, just like you."

Midoriya Katsuki -

• Katsuki in this au is almost ooc-nice. Soft boi hours, but still a little chaotic and aggressive. Snarky little brat who is kind when he needs to be. He's a lot less of a bully - being especially better towards Izuku - with his aggression mostly protective as he was the only triplet with a Quirk (that is, until yurei fricking died when she was 12 and got her quirk, and then izuku inherited ofa at 15).

• Is fully capable of going feral, and not only to protect but also when he feels like people are "letting him win", which drives him up the wall (see the sports festival incident)

• He also never made fun of his siblings being Quirkless, and his only "problem" with it was "well, crap, they can't defend themselves, so I gotta beat up all these OTHER kids"

• Katsuki is the third (technically first because hes the oldest) triplet and is now Midoriya Katsuki because I don't like his mom. So that probably contributed to his attitude adjustment, being taken care of by Mama Inko instead of Bakugou Mitsuki

• Also deaf!bakugou au because I love the idea of his Quirk making him go deaf and the idea of the triplets just using sign language and annoying/confusing everyone else. Plus the idea of him just. Turning off his hearing aides when people annoy him. *chef's kiss* perfection

• Also Katsuki has freckles because I can't change his eye or hair colour and I need SOMETHING to tie him to the other two

• Like canon, he loves cooking and is great at it. He's Gordon Ramsey in every way - goes feral when people are incompetent and in his way, but genuinely kind and nurturing when they actually want to help and learn. He has in fact called someone an Idiot Sandwich, and that someone may or may not have been Izuku.

• Only cuddly on his terms. Hug him when he doesn't want to be hugged, and God help you because no one else will

• Probably had a version of his mom's Quirk originally, but his dad forgot to turn off his Quirk stealing bs while holding Baby Izuku, said he'd "fix that later", and never did. That's why Izuku was Quirkless

• Secretly a cuddlebug. Cuddles with his siblings, his mom, his friends... Todoroki.

• Not as much of an All Might fanboy as canon. It would be like your mom marrying Boulevard cucumberpatch and your room is wallpapered with Sherlock posters.

• Need more Izuku headcanons, but I didn't change much about him that didn't involve the other two. I made up Yurei, and changed Katsuki almost completely, but Izuku? Perfectly fine the way he is

All Three

• Katsuki is the oldest by 10 minutes between him and Yurei, so hes 25 minutes older than izuku; Yurei is the middle, because she just gives me middle child energy for some reason; Izuku is the youngest by 15 minutes between him and Yurei, because he's baby.

• Katsuki "how did I go from being the only sibling with a Quirk to being the sibling with the least op Quirk?"

Yurei "I died lol."

Izuku "Dad stole mine and Toshinori gave me his, so..."

• They are musically talented. All three can sing. Yurei can play the piano/keyboard, but she recently discovered arcade buttons and prefers those. She likes editing on the computer, and has a YouTube channel for her music. Katsuki can play the drums (canon), because its the only instrument he can reliably hear (headcanon). Izuku feels like an acoustic guitar guy to me, or maybe ukulele.

• All three kids have AFO saved as "rat b*****d" in their phones. Izuku has All Might as "Toshinori" (because he's boring like that lol), Yurei has him as "DadMight", and Katsuki has him as "Mother F***er" (listen - I don't cuss, but my characters sure do. Also All Might approved of all contact names, so...)

• All three triplets are avid gamers

• Katsuki and Izuku sing "Hey There Delilah" when Yurei is having a "poltergeist episode" because they found out the soft cadence calms her down almost instantaneously

• Yurei is in the support course, Izuku and Katsuki in 1A (Yurei's all "I'd rather build stuff than fight bad guys. Besides, they couldn't handle all three Midoriyas in one class!" but shes secretly upset that theyre separated)

• Another favourite joke is walking around screaming "WHAT DOING?!" at the top of their lungs at each other like those parrot videos. Usually when one of them is playing/texting on their phone or looking for something

• They each have a kitten from the same litter. Yurei has a little white kitten named Phantom, Izuku has a little yellow kitten named Small Might, and Katsuki has a little orange and black kitten named Lord Explosion Murder (gotta keep it canon lol)

• Yurei and Izuku call Katsuki's cat "Lem". They refuse to call the cute little kitten Lord Explosion Murder

• They helped each other train their Quirks. Izuku and Yurei helped Katsuki understand and aim his explosions. The boys helped Yurei feel safe to float, disappear, and phase through stuff; and help her calm down during what they call poltergeist episodes. Yurei and Katsuki helped Izuku learn his "microwave dial" tricks. Each of their Quirks are stronger than in canon because they didn't have to go through the discovery phase alone.

• They have severe separation anxiety, barely tolerating being in different classes. When they get into the dorms, almost every night Izu and Yurei sneak into Katsuki's dorm and they cuddle pile because it's too much to handle being apart all day AND all night.

Nicknaming

• Izuku uses proper names and honorifics until he's comfortable, and then out come the pet names. Always cute and endearing, from shortened version of their name to something that reminds him of them. The more he loves the person, the more pet names they get.

• Uraraka is "Chako", and a couple others

• Todoroki has so many, Izuku rarely calls him the same name twice. "Sho", "Todo", "Roki", "candy cane", "todoroni", "sweetheart", "my love", the list goes on and on and on and on-

• One time, when he was really tired, Iida told him something and he responded "Ok dad" and has yet to live it down.

• There's a running joke in the family that Izuku can't pronounce "Katsuki". He can, and does when he's mad. Katsuki knows to run when he hears "Midoriya Katsuki."

• Katsuki still does the nicknaming, but more playful instead of mean-spirited.

• Still calls Todo "IcyHot" and Denki "Pikachu", and his friends are "[his] idiots"

• Doesn't call Denki "dunce face", nor Kiri "sh***y hair".

• He called Kirishima "Kiri" until they officially asked each other out, and then it was "Ei".

• Once, while running on little sleep, he messed up and called him "Kirisunshine". • Like when Izu called Iida "dad", Kat has yet to live that one down. Kiri didn't either, because he dissolved into a blushy mess.

• Yurei compounds normal words with people's names depending on the situation or topic of conversation; she's very inconsistent with her nicknaming.

• She only uses "real names" with people she views in authority or people she's uncomfortable with (as someone with social anxiety, there are those certain people you stay rigidly formal with because they make you anxious or uncomfortable or you just plain can't get a read on them)

• The most consistent nickname in her rolodex is calling Katsuki "Kit Kat", which she has basically since they could talk

• She has called Todoroki "TodoRoni", "ConspiraRoki", "TraumaRoki", and a bunch of others.

• Himiko calls Yurei "Boo", and Yurei calls Himiko "Sky Puppy" (because vampire equals bats, and bats are cute little sky puppies)

• Izuku still calls Katsuki "kacchan", and Yurei calls him kit kat. Haven't decided yet if Katsuki still calls izuku "deku" because, like, that's such a Sibling thing to do. But also it's a bit meaner than I want him to be. Maybe just like "brat child" or something. Yurei calls izuku "broccoli" and he retaliates by calling her "cauliflower".

Parents

• Dad For One au/StepDad Might au (because I'm evil and love the idea of "lol even mom left you for all might")

• All Might takes the Midoriya name, because "they didn't marry into [his] family, [he] married into theirs", so he's Midoriya Toshinori

• We stan a chubby Mama Inko in this house

• Somehow, Toshinori has his "skeleton form" without the injury because that fight didn't happen in this au. Because I like the skeleton form, its non-threatening and he needs an inconspicuous form for being out and about with the Midoriyas.

• AFO is a sucky dad, and the triplets hate him with the same passion that Shoto hates Endeavor, BUT the lov is still a found family and they have game nights and everyone (except Enji) knows that Dabi is Touya

• Adopted!Shiggy and Good!LOV au. The lov is actually more of a home for runaways, taking in all those "villains" but rehabilitating them and giving them the family they needed. Instead of "League Of Villains", the acronym stands for "League Of Vagabonds". Some even go on to be heroes, but most are "normal citizens" and work in grocery stores and cafés and stuff.

• Touya is still dabi and still runs away from Endeavor, but his siblings know where he is. Toga obviously finds them and starts dating Yurei (prob in the support course with her gf). Shiggy stays with Mama Inko and the triplets in the divorce, and goes to UA (probably either already graduated or a third year, I don't know his age). Oboro is just healed and NOT turned into Kurogiri (even though I love Mamagiri, he and erasermic could prob do without the trauma). Oboro would probably be a fun uncle to Aizawa's and Mic's kids, because yes erasermic officially adopted shinsou and eri as well as like 5 cats.

I am back with some Transformers headcanons✨

So basically I was thinking what some of our favorite robots would do if they fell for a human (autobots edition!).

Optimus Prime:

This is totally illogical, right? (well hello there Mr. Spock 🖖🏻) Optimus can't really understand how this would have happened. A transformer having romantic feelings for a human? He just can't deal with it. He knows that his fellow autobots will disagree with this. He is sooo wrong. Of course Rachet knew from the first moment, he is out beloved smartass after all, isn't he? So what is he supposed to do with that? Confess? No, it will make him look silly. Should he keep inside? That's not happening either, it's killing him.

After a long time he decides it's time to express how he feels. Did he manage to be as calm and relaxed as he is during missions? Of course not! He just doesn't know to say it. You know that's something's wrong, guys shall be guys. He finally makes it and pours out all of his feelings about you. SHOCK! I mean, the leader of the autobots just confessed he has feelings for you. That doesn't happen every day.

Optimus is really worried that something bad might happen to you. What if Megatron and his minions try to get you? What if they hurt you or even worse? He can't let that happen but he can't carry you with him everywhere. So he calls you whenever he has the chance and of course he is the one that gives you rides. Takes you to your destination because he wants to know you're safe.

Bumblebee:

In DENIAL. Although he is excited that he actually likes someone, he is afraid of the same time because that someone is human. What if you don't feel the same? What if you hurt him or stop hanging out with him? He is super confused and doesn't really know what to do. He tries to ask Optimus for advice but he knows he is strict and will forbid it

He just can't keep it for himself, you need to know how he feels. So he let's you know with a song! The sweetest and most romantic way to confess to someone. At first you are confused but then it hits you. Your favorite little bee just said he's in love with you. Are you surprised? Not that much, you could see the signs: always driving you whenever you wanted, picking sweet and a bit melancholic songs and honking at you whenever you've been talking with someone else for too long.

Bumblebee isn't that worried, mostly because he somehow manages to be with you all the time. He knows that if you need him, he will be there for you and protect you. Loves to carry you on his arms or shoulders. Also he really likes it when you hug him, he feels the most special bee in the world.

Rachet:

No, no, nope! These things can't be happening now, can they? He just can't understand how he could have developed romantic feelings for a human. This isn't like him at all. Optimus should not know, not because he wouldn't agree but because he would find it strange.

As the stubborn little guy he is, he tries to keep it inside. Bad idea, believe me. He just can't focus, you are always on his mind. The way you talk and look at him, your laugh and all the little things you do. Is he going insane? Yeah, probably. So after a while he realises he can't do otherwise and tries to confess. How is he supposed to say it without sounding weird? No idea. You have been hanging out with him for a while now so you know that something's odd. He finally blurts is out. Surprised? A LOT. You would have never imagined that he would like you in this way.

Worried? Not really his thing. Protective? Oh yes. Rachet needs to know you are alright. He calls you from time to time to check on you. You definitely find that adorable. Whenever he's explaining something to the others, you really like listening to him. He feels really embarrassed about it. He isn't used carrying humans but he likes to carry you from time to time.

Ironhide:

Tough guy, badass but a total wimp when it comes to these things. Caring for a human more than he should? Dear Lord, please send him back to Cybertron. If Bumblebee was in denial, this guy is the definition of it. He is aware that Rachet probably knows and glares at him when he's dropping hints. There's no way he's telling you, you should never know. On the other hand if he doesn't, Bumblebee or Rachet is going to let you know.

How do you express your feelings to a human? It is even normal? Ironhide rarely expresses how he feels so you have no idea what's going on. Stuttering, a lot of it. He is trying his best guys, don't be hard on him. Are you shocked? Ah, yes! How could you not?

He isn't the type of person to carry you around and having fun. He almost never calls you to let know if you're alright. On the other side, he gives you rides to make sure everything's alright. He lets you pick what you want to listen to and never complains about it. He doesn't mind waiting for you while you're at your work or school/college but gets a bit impatient when you talk with someone for too long.

Just this panel alone is able to confirm everything that I wanted from this manga.

Eren's condition has always been what I suspected.

Ever since he sided with his brother Zeke, who manipulated Marley in attacking Eldia to retrieve the founder and other titans. Something THEY DIDN'T WANT TO DO, because they were being pressured by many other countries and were not as powerful as before due to their lack of powerful weapons like the ones in the Middle Eastern Alliance which were able to PIERCE through the fucking Armored Titan.

THIS resulted in the fucking festival and we know what happened then. Dozens of people died including children continuing the cycle of hate that has been started for god knows how long. And Eren WILLINGLY took a part in it because he wanted his actions to be a little easier while he was going to genocide the whole fucking world.

INCLUDING his own island because let's be honest when Eren is done with the Rumbling, destroying every ecosystems. EVERYTHING that keeps a planet alive, his little island won't live for long.

"The ground... It's crying." CHAPTER 131 said by one of the goddamn kids he fucking killed.

Marley is now sure, let's fucking kill all Eldians.

He did his attack on Liberio, he betrayed everyone. Crushing Hange's every possibilities of finding a peaceful way of settling things down after having been hidden MANY useful informations by Eren, Zeke and his group but also the Azumabitos.

Sparking a civil war inside Eldia, leading to an Eldian supremacist group cause let's be honest when Floch killed that Marleyan and than gave his little first king Fritz speech, it was like seeing Hitler all over again and the Klux Klux Klan.

I MEAN... FLOCH OF ALL PEOPLE! A guy who has PTSD after seing dozens of his comrades died, their faces exploded by fucking thrown rocks. He bastardized Erwin's ideologies and no matter how good willing he was, he was just a dead man walking acting like a fool.

He also betrays his own party now, the Jeagerist by allowing the very people they tried to stop the power to stop him. By activating the Rumbling, he also caused the death of Eldians inside the walls as we've been shown with Hitch.

AND THE WORST... destroy every connection he has with his friends. Hurting them, putting them in danger by the very group he created and the Titans.

Oh but that's not all...

He uses the titan the same way Marley did it, with oppression and violence. He is not stopping the cycle of hate, he is continuing it. And it will have repercussions inside the very group of people he tried to defend.

People killed each other inside the walls and they will kill each other without it. Mikasa as shown us that when her parents got murdered and she almost became a slave.

And he killed Hange with these same titans. I don't care if they sacrificed themself. He didn't live up to what he preached. They died and Hange was someone close to him and was concerned with his well being. Maybe it was too late but they also had many other priorities as Hange was commander. They also fell into depression because of their position. One of his mentors and friends, one who tried to talk with him while he was in that cell planning to destroy the world...

It put him in a state of depression and dread through 5 FUCKING YEARS. On top of that, he is able to see the future and what he saw will happen and has happened hence his reaction to Sasha's death.

A fucking mental breakdown.

It's impossible to stop what is going to happen, because what is going to happen, needs to happen.

But as we know Sasha is in the afterlife with Erwin, Hange and the others. And we have been confirmed that this is the afterlife. So we have time-travelling, afterlife, 13 years curse, people who can turn into titans, parallel dimensions and Eren who can see through birds.

But the fandom said, no, the prospect of him being manipulated by the Attack Titan is impossible even after knowing it has special abilities.

I MEAN...

Umm... This has happened before. And I saw no one complain.

I mean when is the last time we saw Eren.

He was sleeping inside his titan in 131. Having a dream about seeing his "sight" of freedom as a kid. And also potentially watching things with birds.

It's just weird. If he was fully in control, the characters wouldn't have questionned it and none of this weird shit would be happening.

He clearly doesn't have a free will.

This requires too much energy and Eren is a normal Eldian, not one of Royal Blood. Being both in Paths, watching this " sight ", communicating, watching with birds, moving his titan which is enormous and the thousands of colossal titans is clearly hard and too dangerous for only one person to do.

Would Vader's death make a big difference in the grand scheme of the Empire? Sure, he's powerful but most of the Jedi hunting is dealt by the Inquisitors. Palps seems to be looking for an excuse to trade in for a newer model. Yes, he rules the Inquisitors by fear but I'd argue his temper/emotions are too big a liability to the point Palps threatens/cuts off his power/influence. Leia even comments on Tarkin holding Vaders' leash. A more clear headed Sith could do more damage.

Honestly, this is an excellent question and one I've personally mulled over time and again.

I mean, what exactly was Anakin's role in the Empire? Enforcer, ghost story, Jedi hunter...

The thing is, I guess you could argue that Anakin's most influential act was his massacre at the Jedi Temple. After that point, the Empire was more or less a juggernaut (and let's be honest, the political chess game had been in a suspended checkmate long before Order 66 reared its ugly head) until it ended up eating itself, Ourborous-style and fell to the Rebellion.

So what exactly was the advantage to Palpatine keeping Anakin on a leash all those years?

Anakin gets to hunt Jedi and put down any hints of Jedi sympathizers/rebellion with an iron fist. Useful to put the fear of...well, whoever, into the local populace and ensure the Jedi can't rise again.

But as you rightly state, the Inquisitors fill much the same role, albeit without the urban legend, the specter of "Vader" haunting any malcontent's doorstep. And yes, a more clear-headed Sith probably could figure out a way to, if not take out Sheev, at least form a splinter group and be a massive pain in the ass.

And when you go at it from this direction, it actually makes Palpatine's manipulations of Anakin even more creepy and flat-out evil. I mean, Palpatine is a guy who just craves power for power's sake. (It's like if Mitch McConnell actually had any kind of Force abilities). You have to wonder if he just...enjoys keeping Anakin around on a leash, subservient, the supposed "Chosen One" (although I doubt Palpy really gives the prophecy all that much credit) at his beck-and-call. And yeah, he'd turn on Anakin for less than a cracker, which is exactly what happens in RotJ once Luke comes around.

It's...really kind of gross when you think of it that way.

But getting back to the original impetus for this ask (I'm assuming). What would Obi-wan killing Anakin have accomplished? Well, aside from putting Anakin out of his misery, which at this point, considering just how twisted the Anakin-Palpatine relationship is, would be kinder than leaving Anakin to eventually get his shit together in the Hail Mary-est of all Hail Mary passes by the end of the OT...

Anyway, aside from that. Vader's death would be a morale blow to the Empire, at least until Palpatine could conjure up another Big Bad(tm) to play boogeyman. And if nothing else, Anakin was good at wanton destruction. Would his death have saved more lives or would the Empire just kind of carpet-bombed their way through civilians? Not really sure how to answer that.

It's tempting to say that Obi-wan sees the long view during his second duel with Anakin, that he knows it's futile to kill Anakin because one thousand evils would just replace him (maybe he even fears he would be one of them, if he gave in to the idea of killing Anakin). But considering he asserts that, "One of us will die today," I don't think that's exactly where his head was at. Not on Mustafar, and certainly not the second time around during the Kenobi show.

And so while Obi-wan's inability to kill Anakin is not the sole reason the Empire rose (not by any means. Even if Anakin had never turned, it's likely some form of the Empire would have risen considering all the politics and how the war was manipulated), I don't think Vader being dead would have been a bad thing, per se, as he was insanely powerful and killed a lot of beings during his time as a Sith.

(Which kind of leads me down another rabbit hole of thinking if Luke had failed and turned, then what? Would the Empire have survived? The fight outside Death Star II was politics and it was the Rebellion that truly won the day. The fight inside Death Star II was for souls. The Empire may have been toast anyway, no matter what went down in that throne room).

All this is to say, anon, that it's a fascinating question and one that I don't have a clear answer to. I still contend that Obi-wan not killing Anakin was crueler than letting him live (whether you look at that from a wider political level or just Anakin's quality of life), but Obi-wan would never do it. And never did it, choosing to die by Anakin's hand before raising his own against him. Like I said, fascinating stuff.

I've been rewatching ATLA several times lately and this time I especially ended up wondering a lot about Iroh and Ozai's past and characters in general. I just can't help but think it weird that Ozai is the ultimate trashbag of a humanbeing while Iroh ended up preaching harmony and peace. It just doesn't make any sense. These guys are brothers. They were brought up by the same parents, in the same fascist imperialistic nation, they were taught the same values growing up. You're trying to tell me the difference is that Iroh was destined to be the person he eventually came to be, but Ozai was just born evil? No, I don't think so.

I have two hot takes that I'm gonna elaborate:

1. Iroh had a guidance Ozai lacked

2. Ozai was the less favored son

(Disclaimer: I haven't read the comics yet so I don't know how deep they've already gone into this subject at some point. I'm trying to interpret and analyze the stuff that I got from the animated series only. If anything I say contradicts what has already been confirmed in the comics, feel free to correct me.)

Hear me out. Iroh wasn't born a saint. Everyone is aware of this, especially Iroh himself. He laid siege to Ba Sing Se for 2 years, costing the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom thousands of lives. Everyone knew that if the Fire Nation took over the capital, it meant almost ultimate victory for the Fire Nation. He even went as far as making a offhand sadistic jokes about burning the city to the ground in that letter to Zuko and Azula.

Iroh acknowledges it himself; He was a different man.

So what changed?

Yes, his son died. It broke and shattered him from the inside, making him drop all efforts to continue fighting in the war. To continue what had been his lifelong ambition, what he believed to be his destiny. He had a literal vision about taking over Ba Sing Se when he was a child, and that had been what he'd been pursuing ever since. But the death of his son managed to crumble all of that into nothingness. How is that possible?

Don't get me wrong. I think it's completely valid. I just don't understand how Lu Ten and Iroh could've had such a loving and caring relationship in the first place, when that's clearly something unusual among the royal family. Ozai burned and banished Zuko without a second thought, not to mention all the other shit he did to him growing up. Ozai didn't give two shits about Azula either, he only ever intended to use her as his weapon. Doesn't seem too surprising, if you ask me. Azulon didn't hesitate to demand that Ozai kill his own son if he wanted the throne. That's the man that raised Ozai, so it's just logical that Ozai learned that behavior and those values from his own father.

Even 9 year old Azula thinks it laughable that Iroh would fall apart at the death of his son. She is a child and this is how she thinks. The reason Zuko doesn't think like this is because he's had the guidance of his mother, unlike Azula. This is the kind of mentality these kids grow up with. They grew up with war and so did Iroh and Ozai.

So why was Iroh's relationship with Lu Ten so different? Where did Iroh experience the kind of compassion and love he passed on to his own son, that Ozai definitely didn't? People act on how they've come to learn, so where did Iroh learn to care about his son to a point that it made him give up on his lifelong ambition?

Let's review a very crucial information we have on Iroh and Ozai as siblings: They have a huge age gap.

Frankly, I'm guessing about 10-20 years. Looks more like 20 to me, but that could also be Iroh's greater amount of endured pain and war making him look older than he actually is. But no one can deny that an age gap is definitely there. Which can also indicate they had different upbringings, despite having grown up in the same family as brothers.

What does this mean? Well, that's just me theorizing now, but I can definitely imagine that Iroh had someone, a family member maybe, there for him who wasn't around or didn't care to be when Ozai grew up. There must've been someone there who gave Iroh emotional security and guidance throughout his upbringing. Who? That's up to imagination. A friend of the family? A friendly uncle? His own mother ((or father))? (The last two things worked out for Zuko in the end, didn't they?) Otherwise I can't really explain myself why Iroh had enough values to love the way he loved Lu Ten, while Ozai clearly didn't give two fucks about his children at any point in his life.

Iroh was the firstborn son, the one who had a vision very early in his life that his destiny was to take over Ba Sing Se. Probably the one who got to have a family member care about him enough to show him how to love.

(I like to point this out a lot because I find it very interesting, and very significant. Please A:TLA give us more info on Iroh's past!!)

Which brings me to my second take: Ozai was the less favored son.

Iroh was clearly a son to be proud of. He was a master firebender, the "Dragon of the West", if you will. He apparently had a vision as a boy that he'd conquer the most "impenetrable city" in the world. He probably lived up to his parent's expectations for his whole life, especially having no sibling to be compared to for a significant part of his life. He broke through the outter wall of Ba Sing Se during his siege. Yada yada yada, you get my point. He's the best son they could've wished for.

And Ozai? As far as I know, he barely even has any military achievements. Taking over Ba Sing Se was Azula's doing. While Iroh laid siege to the capital, he was at home chilling in the palace. He's the younger brother to an established hero and was never meant to be firelord. Now, I haven't read the comics for more info on Ozai's biography, but this man barely had a chance to live up to his parent's standards with Iroh as an older brother. If my theory is correct, Ozai also didn't have any person to provide him emotional guidance throughout his life. (*cough* like Azula)

The logical outcome is: infinite jealousy.

And when Ozai suggests to Azulon that he revoke Iroh's birthright to become firelord, this is Azulon's answer:

Azulon doesn't even hesitate to call Ozai out on his bullshit. He doesn't hesitate to take offense at the suggestion of betraying Iroh, and he even seems to care about Iroh's suffering. Not to mention that Azulon is overall annoyed with Ozai's request for an audience and sends the rest of Ozai's family away as soon as he can, to get whatever it is Ozai wants over with.

I could also mention the fact that Ozai tried to impress Azulon with his daughter's skills (Azula, even named after him) and the overall strained relationship these two seem to exhibit. It's obviously very different from Azulon's relationship with Iroh, if the way he talks about said man is anything to show for.

What if Azulon treated Ozai the same way Ozai treated Zuko? (Probably without the physical abuse, but you get my point.) What if this is where Ozai learned to treat a "useless" kid like shit, maybe also in a way to cope with how he was treated himself?

Getting deeper into the fact that Ozai is rather a loser compared to Iroh, without any big military achievements and without value for anything beyond that, this also explains a lot about Ozai's constant need to establish his dominance.

First; Becoming Firelord through radical manners (you know, killing his own son or killing his own father)

Second; Publicly burning and banishing his own son whom he considers a weakling, who dared to speak up in his war room. Doing this to have everyone know that he doesn't associate himself with weakness and that he will not ever tolerate any form of disrespect.

Third; The whole Phoenix King act. No one can tell me this isn't a madman's doing. This is literally to show off that he is the most powerful person in the world.

Ozai is so obsessed with proving himself and his superiority to everyone, including himself and probably Iroh too. This makes most sense if we consider that he probably lived in his brother's shadow for his whole life, ignored by probably every guiding figure he's ever had in his life, maybe even considered a laughingstock by his own father.

Perhaps this is also the reason Ozai didn't have any problem with Iroh accompanying Zuko in banishment. His brother, the hero in whose shadow he grew up, and his son, the failure he'd wanted out of the way for a long time already. It would erase Iroh's image that made him superior to him, once and for all. For himself and the world. I believe that branding him a traitor was the biggest satisfaction Ozai had ever experienced in his life.

I absolutely despise Ozai with every fibre of my heart, but it amazes me how ATLA continues to leave so much room for interpretation and explanation for a character as despicable as him. Writing this, even had me feel sympathy for him at some point. Feel free to disagree with me or add anything, I'm eager to hear everyone's thoughts about Ozai and Iroh's backstories because I'm geniuinely very curious.

Aerith in light of healthcare provider

So, I've wanted to write an analysis about Aerith in light of her medical viewpoint for quite a long time but only recently got the chance to complete it. It is well known in the game that Aerith is the healer of the story. She possesses a great MP with a limit break to heal and buff people which greatly affects your gameplay. Of course, you can equip others with Healing and Prayer materias to render them useful for healing as well. But story-wise, no one can take away Aerith's status as the healer. We know in canon that Aerith provided herbs to the Sector 5 slums doctor to create medicine. And if you finished the Corneo Stash side quest in Chapter 14, you can return to the church and see a couple of elderly sitting on the pew praying. And when you come closer to them you'll hear them talking about how they didn't see Aerith around and they're sure she's alright and probably be around healing people. You know, since the Sector 7 plate just fell. (Even though Aerith is not alright actually coz she was kidnapped by Shinra by this time) Point is, we are fed by the NPCs on how much Aerith had helped around as a healer. She had been doing this for years.

While being in denial about who she actually is, being a healer had always been implanted in her. She is used to it. When you're used to being a healer, there's a certain level when you have a different reaction compared to others. The way you think is different. Apart from that, she's also a Cetra. And we knew for a fact Cetra had a certain affinity towards souls who are returning to the Planet. Meaning, as much as she is used to healing others, she's also used to sensing death.

My whole point is that being a Cardiac Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist as I am, I can totally relate my position with Aerith, as we both have constantly helped people and encounter death on daily basis. While I'm pretty confident that the majority of these might be coincidences (because I'm pretty sure there are no doctors in the SE team), I thought the coincidences are pretty cool to ponder upon and I'm amazed at how the subtle differences between Aerith's reaction to events from other characters.

I'm gonna ignore the meta part of Aerith, mainly because I'm not discussing how much Aerith knew, and if there was anything in jeopardy of what she knew whatsoever. So we're gonna focus on the fact that she is used to healing and feeling people's death. People who are used to death on daily basis had a certain unique view on life and death. And that affects how we act upon facing them too. While this is evident throughout Remake, I'm gonna focus on the plate drop event to be more concise. I will also use Tifa as a comparison to make it easier to see the difference between the reaction of the two. Let’s start!

1) Aerith is quick in emergency situations.

When you are used to people dying, you developed a certain immunity and you are able to have a sound mind and composure at the sudden change of event. As healthcare providers, we face stable situations turning into critical real fast. And we have a switch in our minds that turns us from standby mode to rescue mode. This is exactly what happened to Aerith when Don Corneo revealed Shinra's plan to blow up Sector 7's support pillar. Tifa is part of Sector 7. It is her home. Which is why her reaction showed how she was super devastated, she slowly stood up and muttered "They wouldn't..." because she couldn't believe it. Aerith? She had that switch in her mind, and she immediately turned and say "Come on, guys! We gotta go!". She switched into that critical mode in a second. It helps that she's also not personally connected to Sector 7, and thus her judgment was not as impaired. Of course, they both switched into the critical mode in the sewer, but it was at the moment of revelation that made it different. Just like how healthcare providers switched at the moment of revelation that their patients are at the brink of death—you immediately jumped into rescue mode.

2) She plans for the worst.

Remember after they defeated Abzu and Tifa started to question Corneo's information? She didn't want to believe it, because it didn't make sense to destroy your years of efforts building the plate just to get back to a small group like AVALANCHE. Think about the money they put in to build it, they're gonna have to put them all again. In fact, along their way out of the sewer, Tifa voiced out multiple times how this had been bothering her. But I'm intrigued with Aerith's reply "If he's telling the truth, then we should go. And if it turns out he was lying, then so what?". This here is exactly what doctors do. We plan and prepare for the worst. And if the worst didn't happen, then so what? If you ever had life-saving surgery, your doctors would tell you "You need this surgery coz you might die. But if you do the surgery, there's a high chance you'll survive, but there's a small chance you'll die too". And we prepare for that small chance that our patients die. No, we don't let our preparations lacking because we hope they'll survive. We prepare for the worst outcome possible and get all the equipment ready in case they'll die. If they didn't, then so what? It doesn't mean our preparations were futile efforts. It only means we were prepared. And that line of Aerith seriously hits home to me.

3) She hopes for the best.

Before they crossed the water sewer, Tifa once again voiced out how she couldn't stop thinking about what Corneo said, and she was still hoping that he was lying. And then Aerith said, "The future isn't set in stone". (Again, I'm gonna ignore the meta part of Aerith) And then she proceeded to set up that small date with Tifa. Believe it or not, this is actually what we do during bad calls. We'd talk about what we would do after all this ends; we'd go out dining, or playing games/darts, or go drinking, or whatever it is that makes us happy. Just to keep our minds calm and to allow us to hope for the future, even if it's just a few hours away. It gives us hope and courage to go on. We plan for the worst, but we hope for the best. The more critical the situation is, the more you need to be level-headed. And needless to say, after this point onwards, Tifa is much more calmed down from her struggle to keep herself focus.

4) She follows orders.

This might sound weird to some, but the ability to cast away your worry and focus on what you can do, instead of what you should do, is important in emergency situations. You need to know what you don't know. You don't get in the way of your comrades. If you're not good at intubating, you don't insist to intubate in emergency situations just because you wanna help. Seriously, you'll just make things worse. When Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith were attacked before climbing up and out of the sewer, Cloud asked both Tifa and Aerith to keep going. Aerith immediately answers "Okay" and left—without a single but. This is significant because it shows that Aerith knew she'd be better off leaving. She doesn't need to offer help, coz her help was not needed. This is not the place where she could help. The ability to recognize this is very important for healthcare professionals. Tifa was a bit more reluctant to leave, but that's probably because she is a martial artist in-game. Also, the fact that Aerith could still joke "We're not delicious" is just so real lol! Yup, we joke sometimes when we're facing deaths—doesn't mean we lose focus in saving the dying person in front of us, don't worry. And then it happens again when they reached Sector 7 when Cloud asked them to stay with Wedge as he goes up, Aerith immediately answered "sure"—because she can "patch" Wedge up, it's where her abilities lie. This is even more accentuated when an injured Wedge argued that he can still fight when he clearly can't—making this point even more obvious. Aerith is someone with a healthcare mind, Wedge was not.

5) She supports her comrades emotionally even when she’s worried too.

When they reached the surface, they spotted a Shinra helicopter. Cloud assured them they're only on patrol. Aerith turned to Tifa and said, "Don't worry, we'll make it in time". This moment is also very iconic to me. As I mentioned, I'm an anaesthesiologist. We are the support doctors to surgeons and physicians. Those moments when we're operating on AAA surgeries and the patient is losing liters of blood and literally dying, we're pumping bloods in with our hands and get those Level 1 machines operating, and the surgeons would be panicking because it keeps bleeding? Yep, I did say it before. "We'll make it. Just concentrate on the surgery and don't worry about the bleeding", even though I'm sweating and dying here trying to keep the patient alive. But I pretended to be calm in front of my team and cheered them on. Because the whole team needs to keep calm. If one of the team loses hope, then bid your chance farewell. As an anaesthesiologist, we're almost like the anchor in the room. People look at us to know if everything's alright. I need to tell them it's alright, so they need not worry. Aerith knew Tifa is worried. And she tried to keep Tifa calm with reassurance. Even if she probably freaked out herself.

6) She doesn’t discriminate.

After they defeated the ghost at the haunted maintenance facility, Cloud tried to kill it, and Aerith didn't let him. When Cloud said that thing was dangerous, Aerith said she knows and added "but even so..." she didn't feel right about killing it. (Let's ignore the fact that the Ghoul was a lonely creature for now) It then goes to drop the train wreck which almost killed them had it not been for Cloud. Now this would have been avoided had Aerith let Cloud killed it—maybe. But here's the thing. When you're hyper-aware that people are dying left and right, you value life more. No one deserves to die, even the worst criminal in the world. You're a law-abiding citizen? You're a criminal? It doesn't make a difference to us. I know this is something super hard to comprehend. But technically only when the law subjects the criminal to the death sentence that a person should be left to die. I've been a doctor for eleven years, I was a prison doctor for two. I had the first-hand experience of dealing with criminals. It's not my job to determine whether they deserve to die or not. It's not my call whether they will turn a new leaf had they lived. I know this is something others find difficult to relate to and agree with—happens to my non-medical family and friends. The verdict to us is simple. It's a life. It's worth saving. Period. (Technically the ghosts are dead though but my point still stands)

7) She tries to her best abilities and lets go of what is out of her control.

Tifa's emotions are tampered with again when they confirmed Shinra was going to drop the plate when they overheard the Turks conversation. Her voice shook, we can literally hear it. Aerith's response was "all we can do now is keep moving". And she's right. When they reached Sector 7 and the Whispers were preventing them, she said "we have to get past whatever it takes". And later on, Tifa left to help Cloud and Barret, and Aerith agreed to get to Seventh Heaven to ensure Marlene's safety. Wedge had a short mental breakdown when he realized he was no good to anyone up or down the crime scene. And Aerith told him "We can still save a lot of lives", "That's no excuse to give up", "I need to know I did everything I could". Her encouragement helped Wedge save more people. Some argued, did she not care about the lives that already died? Now here's my point; no, we don't. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but really. What can we do for people who are already dead? Nothing. What can we do for people who are still alive? Everything. And this is the core of being a healthcare provider—we prioritize. Yes, we're also humans. We can get emotional when our own friends and relatives die. (Aerith might not be as calm had it happened at Sector 5) But when we put the healthcare provider cap on, we mean business. That is why when disasters happened, and we triage people with a black tag? That's when we know we couldn't do anything for them. We don't mourn at the black tags. We move on to the other tags instead. So that we know we already did everything in our power to help. And yes, it doesn't matter even if we lost more lives than we saved. It's worth it, even if we only saved one person out of thousands of deaths. Just like how Aerith saved Betty in Sector 7. That one life is worth it.

SMT IV, SMT II, and Disco Elysium

Alright! This one will take a while, but I have many opinions for each of these. I hope nobody minds me doing repeats of certain characters though. My feelings on Daleth are vast abd complex:

SMT IV:

My Dearest Blorbo: Issachar. He toes the line between Blorbo and Glup, but I think his prominence in the prologue of IV secures him a spot as my favorite character from the game. I would kill to get a short prologue type deal where you get to play as him when he's training with Flynn or cavorting with demons.

My Most Gentlest Scrunkly: Has to be Alice. She was with me the entire rest of the gane from when I had her in IV and I wish her all the best. She doesn't have Scrunkly energy of her own, per se, but she is my Scrunkly as per the criteria of the ask.

Scrimblo Bimblo: Probably Issachar again. He doesn't get nearly as much spotlight as I, personally, feel he deserves.

The Glup Shitto I have chosen: Commander Hope. Like I said with Issachar, this can really be interchanged between the two. However, what makes Hope more obscure than Issachar is that you never get a boss fight against him, and thus never get to see his samurai skills in action... Unless you buy the DLC for Apocalypse where they make him green.

The Poorest of Little Meow Meows: How many times can I put Navarre here without it becoming annoying? I love him, he's like another of my meow meows but even more pathetic and unlikeable, I love him. I actually like him even more alive than as a ghost, so yay for base game Navarre! Earning the award for most useless holy knight.

Horse Plinko: Also Navarre.

Eeby Deeby: Abbot Hugo, absolutely, for sure.

SMT II:

Blorbo: Daleth, from my shows. I wish I could play as him.

Scrunkly: Beth. She's the most Scrunkly character in the game, I'm pretty sure. She's just shaped that way.

Scimblo Bimblo: Maybe Madame would fit here? If she's too popular, then I'll throw Daleth out here again.

Glup Shitto: I don't think I have a Glup Shitto for SMT II... Maybe Anoon. I love her, even if she has questionable taste in men. Yes I love Daleth too, but this isn't about me in this one case.

Poor Little Meow Meow: ... Daleth again? I'm sorry everything on this list has been Daleth or Daleth related so far, but I just fucking love that green bastard.

Horse Plinko: Still Daleth. My feelings on this idiot bastard are plentiful.

Blorbo: This is the toughest question on the list so far. It's either Harry or Kim, but can I rightfully put one above the other? Kim gets it, but only because Harry is just so pathetic that I can't help but think of him as poor, and little, and perhaps a meow meow.
