Pearl calling herself a pathetic wet cat when she got fifth is so crazy. I don’t think she gives herself enough credit for what has actually resulted in her successes in the series. Her biggest strength in the life series has always been surviving, not killing, except for the very very end of Double Life and the murder camel rampage in SL. She has the highest average placement because she’s good at staying alive! She doesn’t do social game, she doesn’t do rampages, and she doesn’t need to do those to live. In a death game, because surviving is always the goal. Outlasting your opponents is just as valid a strat as anything else. Yes I know we all joked about how she was dying the most from the first couple wild cards, but when it gets down to it, she made her final couple lives count.

actually one of my favorite tropes gotta be when luffy is doing something certifiably off the walls insane & dangerous (but for a good reason) and the rest of the crew is looking on in shock/horror/concern and zoro is smiling
