We are so much more than our feelings and emotions. Anything that has the ability to fluctuate, to change, to come and then go - is not you. It’s just something that is moving through.

This is true whether it’s the feelings that we want to feel, and also the ones that we don’t.

The more that we can connect to the stillness and silence that rests within, the more we realize that in our true essence, we are the calm inside the storm. We are not the storm. The storm is not us.

Taking a long, slow, deep breath in every time we feel ourselves getting caught up in the storm is the first step to having peace in the midst of chaos, stillness inside the storm.

Allow your breath to be your anchor - to the present moment, and also to that space inside you that is always undisturbed, no matter what comes or goes. From there you are able to witness the storm instead of getting caught up in it.
