Smart driving: Danny Adams’ Journey with Gofar’s Connected Car Solutions
The environment is been polluted by various dangerous gases and chemicals. The major contributors to pollution are industries, motor vehicles, combustion devices, and many more. Cars release pollutants like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur dioxide when the fuel is burnt. All these hazardous chemicals will affect humans causing various diseases related lungs, heart, brain, etc. The automotive industry needs to bring sustainable solutions that will reduce pollution and save the earth
Tumblr media
In this article, we discuss one such company GOFAR that motivates drivers to reduce carbon emissions and helps in safe driving through its simple hardware and software-integrated service. GOFAR was founded by Danny Adams who decided to reduce carbon emissions created by cars.
Danny Adams: Founder & CEO of Gofar
Danny Adams, since a young age, was passionate about motor vehicles and the environment, he used to drive vehicles at the age of 12. Later in his teenage, he had a special interest in rockets and was even selected for NASA Space Camp in the USA. He complete a Bachelor’s degree in the stream of Aerospace, Aeronautics, and Astronautical Engineering from UNSW.
Adams worked as a Project Engineer at MSC Software company and worked for several years as a technical service Engineer at 3M, which identifies new ideas and transforms them into ingenious products. Later he founded Founder Institue, which helps aspiring founders build their startups worldwide. In the year 2013, Adams met Ian Davidson at Sydney’s Fishburners co-working space, and together founded GOFAR which helps to track mileage easily with the software.
GOFAR  was established with Adam’s desire to reduce carbon emissions generated by cars. He wanted to develop a machine that would easily track the carbon emissions of cars and motivate drivers to reduce them. Then he developed a prototype and gained two patents from the US Patent Office. Later he raised funds for the company’s future growth and started a Kickstarter campaign in 2015, where he pre-sold $220,00 of GOFAR units. Hence with his passion and strategic planning, Adams took GOFAR towards success.
About GOFAR
GOFAR is the world’s most accurate mileage tracker for drivers established in the year 2013. The company was founded by Danny Adams and has headquarters located in Sydney, New South Wales. GOFAR makes hardware and apps that connect cars and help drivers make proper driving, maintenance, and finance decisions. The app will show the carbon emission rate and motivate drivers to reduce it along with monitoring and improving driver behavior.
The mission of GOFAR is to cut car costs for drivers and society. It also saves drivers time and money along with reducing car pollution and making safer roads. The primary focus while designing GOFAR was to fit in and match any car interior along with providing safety and feedback to drivers. The working and use of the GOFAR device is simple and easy where a driver needs to plugin GOFAR and needs to download the app. After which the device will directly collect and analyze the engine data. Regular updates are given to drivers from GOFAR through the app, and improvements to calibration and firmware on GOFAR can be updated over the air without any complexity for the user. It also provides safety to drivers with real-time feedback about road awareness.
GOFAR has sustainability initiatives and practices integrated into its core values and goals. It aims to always provide the utmost care and quality products that are temperature resistant and can be recycled in its applications for a better customer and user experience. The company partners with fuel and insurance companies, mechanics, etc to help drivers. GOFAR is helping drivers from around 53 countries and is currently active on 6 continents having teams in Australia, Poland, the USA, India, the UK, the Phillippines, and Kenya.
Award and Recognitions
In the year 2021, Danny Adams received the Road Safety Technology Award from the Australian Road Safety Federation. GOFAR was recognized for its innovation and design and was awarded with Good Design Award. Hence Danny Adams, a sustainable entrepreneur of GOFAR, has been doing great work in reducing carbon emissions from cars and helping drivers save time and money.

‘The land Down Under’ is renowned for having lovely weather, a comfortable lifestyle, and a wide variety of sports and recreational activities. But did you also know that it is the third Most Popular place in the Globe to study abroad? Or that the calibre of the research and education offered by Australian institutions is highly regarded Worldwide?
You will have the chance to explore what makes Australia one of the most alluring tourist locations on the planet all while you benefit from the distinctive educational opportunities that its Universities provide as an international Masters student.
Here are some of the most compelling reasons to consider a Masters in Australia this year:
Globally Esteemed Education
Australia’s higher education system, both undergraduate and graduate, is regarded and recognised internationally. Leading institutions of higher learning, Australian universities take great pleasure in the calibre of education they offer. Employers are very interested in hiring Australian graduates since they have access to top professors, cutting-edge facilities, and dependable support services. There are 43 different Australian universities to choose from, all of which routinely rank amongst the best universities in the world.
The following universities in Australia rank within the world’s top 100 (QS World University Rankings 2022):
The Australian National University (=27th)
The University of Melbourne (37th)
The University of Sydney (38th)
The University of New South Wales (43rd)
The University of Queensland (47th)
Monash University (58th)
The University of Western Australia (93rd)
Impactful research
Did you know that Australian graduates made the discoveries of penicillin, Wi-Fi, and the cochlear implant? This not only demonstrates that Australia is a world innovator in research and development but also more than 90% of Australian research is regarded as being of the highest calibre!
Therefore, if you are starting an educational programme in Australia, this may be especially relevant to you since you will be performing and evaluating other people’s research. Additionally, the Australian higher education system spent almost AUD 12.2 million on research programmes in 2018, which demonstrates the support the government gives to scholarly endeavours at universities (Australian Bureau of Statistics 2018).
High Quality of Life
Australia draws a lot of students because of the high standard of living it offers. Australia is ranked as the sixth-best in quality of life in the world (US News and World Report 2021). The job market, low unemployment rate, political and economic stability, safety, and the calibre of the educational system all play a role in this.
Australians are known for having a easy-going culture and enjoying a calm way of life with a respect for a balanced living. Australia is therefore not a surprise to be ranked as the 12th happiest nation in the world (Forbes 2021). You can thus live like an Australian outside of your studies by taking in the stunning environment and enjoying your free time.
Post-study work opportunities
You’ll be happy to learn that you have the option of staying in Australia to work for two to three years after receiving your master’s degree. The sort of course you take does affect on how long you can stay. As a result, graduates of research master’s programmes are qualified for a three-year post-study work visa as opposed to the two years available to those with master’s degrees (as is the case with bachelor’s degrees). You may stay in Australia and work there for four years after your degree if you choose to pursue a PhD. Along with that, you can apply for permanent residency if you want to settle in Australia. Your chances of being admitted will increase if you finish a bachelor’s degree or above. You must apply through the SkillSelect migration programme, which evaluates candidates based on their employment history, educational background, proficiency in English, and other factors.
Work While You Study
Another significant benefit of pursuing your master’s degree in Australia is the ability to work up to 20 hours per week and full-time during holidays. This can assist with paying for living expenses and acquiring work experience. With a minimum pay of approximately AUD 20.33 per hour, you should be able to meet your essential expenses such as food, entertainment, shopping, and travel (Australian Government).
Opportunity to Explore Australia
Working hard and gaining a top grade in your master’s is of course going to be the main priority while in Australia. However, you will also have breaks and time where you can explore your local areas or even venture further afield.
Australia is home to many wonders of the world including the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, the Twelve Apostles, Fraser Island, the Blue Mountains and so much more. Once you finish your studies, you may have some more free time to travel while you look for work. This means that not only are you gaining a prestigious degree, but you can also have an adventure while doing it.

Had to drive to the state border today, to renew my car’s rego with a safety check. I’ve always used E10 petrol with my car, a Mitsubishi ASX. It contains 10% ethanol. Anyway, with my car’s service last week, they suggested I switch it to 91 or 95 octane but not 98+, as it will make the engine chug! Anyway am running 91 now. I used to get 460 kms to a tank and maybe 500 to 600 on a road trip. After driving 30kms back home today from the border of New South Wales, the gauge kept calibrating how much distance I had left, this after filling up again at the border. I was shocked when it said 880, then 910 then 960. It then came to rest on 980 kms left before it started going home again. I was shocked. Who would have thought that changed petrol octane levels would effect your car’s economy so much. Am so chuffed! I was tempted to stop then and top it up for the 30k’s hoping to get it to day 1,000. That’d be awesome! https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf5zBRmLVIK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Telegraph
Kate steps up: The making of a future Queen
Revealed: The crack team building and shaping the Duchess of Cambridge's royal future
By Camilla Tominey, Associate Editor
7 February 2020 • 9:00pm
Tumblr media
It has been exactly a month since Harry and Meghan announced that they were stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family. For the past eight weeks, column inches have racked up about the ‘Megxit’ bombshell and its impact on the institution of monarchy.
Yet amid all the hysteria and hullabaloo, one of its most important members has been serenely going about the business of keeping calm and carrying on.
Until now this kind of understated behaviour may have been most closely associated with the Queen, but it is her modern day equivalent, the Duchess of Cambridge, who has been quietly putting duty first with increasing visibility.
A recent UK tour to launch her landmark survey on early childhood, combined with well-received visits to Bradford and Mumbles, may at first look like Kate making a conscious effort to fill the void left by her brother and sister in law.
Yet as has ever been the case with the middle class girl from Bucklebury who married into the Firm almost a decade ago, that would be to underestimate a woman who has never made a show of her royal role.
Motherhood to monarch
Having discreetly spent the past eight years beavering away on the causes closest to her heart, Kate has finally found her voice and is determined to use it. No longer willing to be seen but not heard, sources say she is now ready to commit the rest of her working life to raising awareness of the importance of childhood - and its impact on adult life.
Although she never took the credit for being the inspiration behind the Heads Together mental health campaign spearheaded by William and Harry - having witnessed its extraordinary impact, there is a sense that the Duchess has finally realised just how much she is capable of.
“The Duchess has worked quietly away in the background for years,” said one well-placed royal insider, “And now she knows that people want to hear from her”. No longer as fearful of public speaking, and fast carving her own path out of the shadows, Kate’s landmark online survey '5 Big Questions on the Under Fives’, will mark the start of decades more work on the subject, according to aides.
“It’s much easier to speak out when you know what you’re talking about and passionate about your subject,” added the insider. “She has become an expert in early years learning, she understands the science and is respected in the sector because she has spent the past eight years working it out. But she also wants to find answers. This is about evidence based research.” The first results of the childhood survey are due next month.
Kate’s gentle yet inquisitive manner was never more on display than when she met wheelchair-bound Harvey Bentley, 90, in Mumbles on Tuesday. The warm exchange was filmed by Mr Bentley’s son-in-law Mike Sutton-Smith
This kind of reaction is certainly welcome after arguably the most testing period for the monarchy since Diana’s death. With two of the so-called ‘Fab Four’ poised to set up their own projects in North America, the focus for the Cambridges will not only be on putting duty first but in a non-partisan, but an extremely effective way.
As one observer noted: “It is a bit of a paradox, having such a naturally introverted person in such a high-profile position. I think that’s what people find endearing about the Duchess. She’s not a showy person. It’s a deeply British trait.”
And one which she certainly shares with Her Majesty who also has a quiet confidence and sense of reserve when interacting with the public.
Of course, accession may still be decades away, but preparations for the royal couple to become the next Prince and Princess of Wales were already well underway before Harry and Meghan’s move to Canada.
Yet while efforts had previously been ploughed into elevating the status of the man who would be king - there is a new, and arguably even more compelling project now fully in progress at the palace: the advent of Queen Catherine.
So much so in fact that team of academics have been drafted in to help the mother-of-three shape her royal future, with input from the highest echelons of government and even the security services.
Likened to a modern-day version of the Way Ahead Group, set up to rebuild the monarchy in the aftermath of the Queen’s ‘annus horribilis’ of 1992, the Duchess’s steering group of experts has informed her focus on early years learning and helped her to grow in confidence in her royal role.
Working royals putting duty first
As the royal couple prepare to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary next year, 2020 is set to be momentous for the Cambridges.
Projecting themselves as a family unit - and a relatable one too - has become a priority and was behind them agreeing to the prime time Christmas TV special with national treasure Mary Berry, which saw the royal couple cooking souffles while discussing the work of their Royal Foundation, the philanthropic vehicle for all their charitable endeavours.
With talk of trips to Ireland, Chile and Columbia already in the offing, and both having recently launched major charitable initiatives - including William’s Earthshot Prize - a multimillion pound project to ‘repair the planet’, the next 12 months will see the pair try to bring what one palace insider describes as the ‘calm after the storm’.
The source added: “What you are going to see with the Cambridges is a couple carved very much out of the Queen’s mould: Duty first.”
Having had three children in swift succession and with Prince George, six and Princess Charlotte, four, now in school and Prince Louis turning two in April, Kate’s priorities have shifted.
According to one well-placed source: “Over the last 12 months they have realised the potential power of their platform. They understand that by launching these long term projects they can genuinely make a big difference. They’ve been told clearly by people the impact that they can have if they pick the right spaces - things they care passionately about.”
Just this week we have seen William discuss diversity at the Baftas and his mental health initiative Heads Up, tackling the issue through football, has been well received. As with Earthshot, described by one aide as “the biggest thing the Duke has ever undertaken”, it’s about saying ‘we can do this’, rather than ‘this is too daunting’”, said a source.
“The Royal Foundation has been going for 10 years now. What they want to do is a smaller number of things on a bigger scale. For the Duchess, the early years work is something she will lead for the rest of her life. It's easy to dismiss it as nice and cuddly, but the focus is going to shift from how much childhood issues affect adult mental health and on the social side, it's as significant as climate change.”
While both projects and their recent visits to Yorkshire and South Wales had been in the diary for months, there is no doubt the ‘Sussex situation’ has escalated matters. “A hell of a lot of responsibility rests on their shoulders and they’ve just got to get on with it,” said royal author Phil Dampier. “I think they are both resigned to spending the next 30, 40, 50 years as heavyweight royals.”
A formidable asset
Government hopes are also being pinned on William and Kate flying the flag for post-Brexit Britain. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) was “delighted” with their highly successful visit to Pakistan last year, which helped to demonstrate the Cambridges’ worth to UK Plc. There emphasis will be on ‘youthful yet dependable royalty’ - demonstrating the power of the Royal Family both home and abroad as a formidable ambassadorial asset.
This was certainly on show last month as William hosted his first major state occasion - a reception for the UK-Africa Investment Summit - on behalf of the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Standing alongside his wife, many royal watchers noted how much more publicly demonstrative William had become towards Kate. During the reception he was uncharacterstically nostalgic, saying: “The African continent holds a very special place in my heart. It is the place my father took my brother and me shortly after our mother died. And when deciding where best to propose to Catherine, I could think of no more fitting place than Kenya to get down on one knee.” When a wellwisher in Mumbles complimented William on Charlotte, he replied: "Yes, she is lovely - just like my wife."
And it is this kind of gentle encouragement and support which is intended to propel his wife to the next level - where her dependability turns into the kind of ‘soft power’ which can affect real change.
Or as one insider put it: "They are going to be doing what politicians can't do, with such a comparatively shorter shelf life. Only royals can think about this scale of change on a generational basis - and that is what the Cambridges are determined to bring about."
A crucial appointment for Kate will be her next private secretary following the departure of Catherine Quinn, the Oxford-educated right hand woman who has helped to chart the past two years. The Telegraph understands a replacement is yet to be found and the Duchess is continuing to be supported by her assistant private secretary and Simon Case, the former civil servant who has been William’s closest adviser since July 2018. Case previously worked for former Prime Ministers David Cameron and Theresa May and that they are taking their time, searching for someone of Case's calibre for Kate is certainly telling.
The couple arguably have another, equally pressing legacy project: the future survival of the monarchy. William has certainly been working in ‘lock step’ with his father and grandmother to find a solution to his brother and sister-in-law’s desire to leave the Firm.
The Telegraph can reveal that the second-in-line was also much more involved in the decision for the Duke of York to step back from public life last November than has previously been reported.
When Prince Andrew travelled to Sandringham to hold talks with Prince Philip and Charles - he also held a meeting with his nephew, believed to be at Anmer Hall, the Cambridge’s Georgian country house on the Queen’s estate in Norfolk. According to a source: “William spoke to Andrew for about an hour. They met separately. The Queen and Prince of Wales both agreed he should be fully involved in the discussions - he is very much a part of what has become a triumvirate of decision-making these days.”
No Fab Four Anymore
As Joe Little, editor-of-chief of Majesty magazine points out, there needs to be a shift in focus now that Harry and Meghan have handed in their notice. “Prince Charles had hoped to have a slimmed down monarchy with his own children and grandchildren as the major players, but he has had to revise that masterplan in light of recent events.
“The House of Windsor was riding high for such a long time with weddings, babies and jubilees, William and Kate have got to restore some of that magic.”
Agreeing that the Duchess’s role will be key to ensuring a modern-day monarchy is fit for purpose, he added: “There’s a mystique about Kate like there has always been about the Queen.”
While Harry and Meghan appear intent on politicising their future role, for William and Kate it is going to be all about the three S’s: stature, strength, and stability

THE SEA EAGLE
MAKING RUGBY LEAGUE GREAT AGAIN!!!
Tumblr media
           Simply the Best???
By this stage most of us have had the misfortune of viewing this year’s NRL season opening promo. The 2-minute (thankfully shortened for TV) expose based on the iconic 1980’s Tina Turner advert highlights 30 of the greatest NRL moments from the past 30 years. Unfortunately, unless said greatest moment features some fringe minority group of indigenous, or progressive agenda rugby league highlight it misses the final editors cut.
Tumblr media
Obviously put together by some leftie earing wearing, pony-tailed marketing tosser, who has never been to a game, the only thing missing is poor Old Izzy Folau nailed to a cross begging for penance.
Let’s face it, most rugby league fans, including the all-important angry old white men segment don’t for a second relate to or buy into this progressive gibberish and at the end of the day just want to see two teams of grown men spend 80 minutes bashing the crap out of each other without too many refereeing f#$kups. In the Sea Eagle’s opinion, a more appropriate season opening promo would have been to highlight the 30 most memorable atrocities committed by NRL players during the past 30 years. With this in mind the Director of Controversy in conjunction with marketing gurus Les Boyd Creative, has come up with this. Open the link and pump up the volume!!
Tumblr media

Off-Season Controversy
In any other off season, the following incidents would be considered yet another shameful off-season of NRL players running amok. Of course, in season 2020 and the 2019/20 off-season there wasn't even a murmur of outrage over what happened. Basically the public is immune to all of it and expects it. And yet the tale of the tape reveals this :
Nelson Asofa Solomona
With the off-season barely a few weeks old Melbourne Storm forward Nelson Asofa Solomona on Oct 19 was reportedly seen throwing punches outside the La Favela nightclub in Seminyak Bali. Witnesses allegedly say the 23-year-old New Zealand Test prop was defending a teammate after they were set upon in an unprovoked attack. No action was taken ultimately by the NRL but the Sea Eagle certainly noticed it, and can only commend it as a great opening gambit .
Sam Burgess AVO and charges Oct 19.
Although the great player has now retired, at the time he was still contemplating being involved in season 2020. Unfortunately, things got a bit out of control when he ended up being charged with an intimidation type offence involving his father in law and also had an AVO brought against him again by allegedly attending his father in law’s premises (presumably when not invited). How Mr Burgess could be charged with intimidation is anyone’s guess.
Tumblr media
This one still has to be played out in the Courts but again it was a fantastic entrée, with more and the best yet to come .
Mansa Fainu – Manly Hooker stabbing incident https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/manly-star-involved-in-church-dance-brawl-where-man-was-stabbed-20191028-p534ut.html.
This one was a Bobby dazzler . Manly had pinned all their hopes on this bloke to be there star #9 going forward. Regrettably things went incredibly haywire and allegations surfaced that he attacked someone whilst still recovering from a shoulder operation and his arm in a sling, allegedly with a knife carried in said sling. Bail was refused and as far as the Sea Eagle can ascertain, he remains incarcerated. It is pretty hard to top this in terms of an off -field atrocity but there you have it . Naturally, the NRL has deemed him unfit to play until this matter has been determined by the courts, although how he could play whilst serving time in a prison cell and recovering from a serious shoulder operation is anyone's guess.
David Fifita https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/david-fifita-bali-arrest-security-guard-assault-nrl-brisbane-broncos-star/news-story/8b06bdf6ab9609c48eb2c9e9a63d67d1
Another beauty this one, with Brisbane Broncos star forward again travelling to Bali and running amok. The allegations of course are all untested and unproven but the suggestions are that he was wildly swinging and landing punches on passers-by whilst travelling on a motorbike or perhaps walking in the street (one can't be entirely sure). Mr Fifita suggests he was set up. How hard would that be for an NRL player to achieve after a few drinks in Bali, the Sea Eagle suggests? In any event,  he found himself incarcerated in a Bali hell hole, and allegedly having to make some sort of Brown paper bag payment to the Bali authorities in order to make this one go away. The Sea Eagle of course casts no blame against Mr Fifita for this one, as it is all supposition and hype. But the usual rules apply. That is, where there is smoke, there's usually some little F&&^%cker lighting matches.
Broncos hooker James Segeyaro doping charges.
James Segeyaro has been provisionally suspended by the NRL under the league's anti-doping policy after testing positive to a banned substance. At the time of writing this one still has to play out but it is certainly the sort of stuff you expect in any NRL off season .
Tumblr media
Penrith Panthers NRL player Tyrone May Sex Tapes
Tyrone May narrowly avoided gaol and was sentenced to a three-year community corrections order over a sex tape scandal in January 2020. Tyrone May pleaded guilty to four counts of intentionally recording an intimate image without consent. The magistrate said his behaviour was "reprehensible" and "criminal". Apparently May and his teammate Nathan Cleary left the court without making any comment. May has been sidelined for nearly a year since being arrested over the videos from 2018, which were filmed without consent. One incident occurred at a Coffs Harbour motel and a second involved a woman in western Sydney three months later.
The 23-year-old pleaded guilty in November 2019 to four counts of intentionally recording an intimate image without consent.
Magistrate Robyn Denes sentenced May to 300 hours of community service, as well as psychological intervention, during his three-year community corrections order.
"This behaviour is not only morally reprehensible, it's criminal," she told Parramatta Local Court. "Ultimately, this is an offence which takes what was consensual sexual acts to another level. It does breach trust." Magistrate Denes warned May's offending placed him "on the cusp" of a custodial sentence and questioned whether he showed any remorse.
Not much more can be said about this one other than one must marvel at what would be revealed in a psychological intervention for an NRL player of this atrocity calibre. The facts speak for themselves and it is nothing less than a pure off field atrocity by an NRL player.
Josh Reynolds, AVO and domestic violence charges against ex partner https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/tigers-playmaker-reynolds-charged-with-domestic-violence-offence-20191212-p53jd5.html
This one showed that not all NRL players are guilty by association or by press release. Ultimately Mr Reynolds managed to persuade the New South Wales prosecutions to drop the charges on the basis of some ulterior or alleged ulterior motive of the complainant. Nevertheless, it is definitely controversial and pure Rugby League and worthy of a place in an off-field atrocity listing.

Eels winger Maika Sivo fronts court in traditional dress, barred from leaving Fiji over indecency charge https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/teams/eels/maika-sivo-tugged-on-female-bartenders-dress-before-fiji-pool-party-arrest/news-story/fb6dda5023f22790903b768a41c8c740
Maika Sivo was charged with indecent annoyance after allegedly touching the skirt of a waitress on Boxing Day during a trip home to Fiji.  The NRL allowed the winger to play in the Nines tournament in Perth and the stand down policy did not apply to this player. Is there anything more fundamentally Rugby League than this one?
NRL player Curtis Scott Tasered after allegedly punching officer in the face (Australia Day 2020) https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/nrl-player-curtis-scott-tasered-after-allegedly-punching-officer-in-the-face-20200127-p53v0w.html
Curtis Scott allegedly assaulted a police officer in January 2020 and faces up to five years in jail if found guilty.  Scott, who joined the Canberra Raiders in the off-season from Melbourne Storm, was arrested earlier this year after he allegedly kicked and punched a police officer in Sydney.
New South Wales Police said officers were forced to taser the 22-year-old to subdue him in the early hours of January 27, 2020 after members of the public reported a man "acting erratically" in the Moore Park sports precinct.
Scott was charged with two counts of assault, resisting police, behaving offensively in public and trespassing after being told to leave.
The NRL says he is free to play this season but warns against interpreting its decision as "a view on [his] innocence or guilt". In its statement, the NRL acknowledged Scott's charges were "extremely serious" but added "he should not be prevented from playing whilst he responds to them".
Scott's charges carry a maximum sentence of five years' imprisonment but the NRL had been considering applying its stand-down policy to him regardless.
Tumblr media
Raiders coach Ricky sticky Stuart was naturally infuriated over this one, with his high profile and high paid recruit caught up in what can only be described as at best unprofessional. Yet again the old adage applies, nothing good happens after midnight (particularly in the Moore Park precinct after Australia Day). And, certainly as the NRL knows in seasons past, when we start talking Australia Day we usually end up with at least one NRL player going above and beyond .Who can forget what happened to Mitchell Pearce and that poor dog a few years back, after his efforts on an Australia day bonding session went right off the Richter scale.
STOP PRESS
but wait there is more. And this one takes the cake.
Corey Harawira-Naera and Jayden Okunbor stood down by Bulldogs just two days before their NRL season-opener- 10 March 2020
The Bulldogs stood down Corey Harawira-Naera and Jayden Okunbor just two days before their NRL season-opener.The players were issued a show cause notice by the NRL as to why they shouldn’t face further disciplinary action for alleged breaches of the game’s code of conduct.
Tumblr media
It is still somewhat unclear as to what the players did but neither is the subject of a criminal investigation (at this stage). What "sources" close to the Sea Eagle can reveal is that it involved young high school girls (apparently over the age of consent) in a room after a trial was played at Port Macquarie.
It is understood that following a “promotional” visit to a local High School  Messrs. Harawira-Naera and Okunbor hooked up with a couple of the girls and ended up back in their rooms for a consensual encounter. How these two knuckleheads thought that this was OK is anyone’s guest suffice to say these are NRL players and should be dealt with, with the highest of caution at the best of times.
Port Macquarie is South of Coffs Harbour where a few years back all hell broke loose in similar circumstances. Again, it was the Bulldogs.
Canterbury referred the matter to the NRL Integrity Unit after receiving concerning reports of alleged misconduct by the two players.
Bulldogs CEO Andrew Hill confirmed the players were stood down “Each was issued a show cause notice by the NRL as to why they shouldn’t face further disciplinary action for alleged breaches of the game’s code of conduct,” Hill said.
If this is in fact the case Bulldogs management also have a bit to answer for in failing to issue  both Harawira-Naera and Okunbor with the simplest of instructions prior to the school visit - that being “do not f#@K any of the students”.
All the Sea Eagle can say is why do Clubs let players of limited mental ability or capacity, make decisions of any kind. Why do they play trials at seaside locations like Port Macquarie at all? The only place the Bulldogs should play a trial is in Parklea against the best local 17 inmates. There will be more to play out in this one. Rest assured. The Sea Eagle is thinking St George player Jack De Belin here.

Garage Door Installation
A Functioning garage door could be just a vital part of life. The timing of which it breaks makes it not possible to resolve the issue straight away. You may have to make unique strategies to get to where you are going and handle the problem after.
It's then that you have to contact professionals who focus on the repair and replacement of garage doors Perth. Garage doors may perhaps look as though they are simple to fix and operate, but the particular reverse could be the circumstance. They feature complex electric and hydraulic systems which can be linked in ways that just a person with deep wisdom and comprehension will be able to comprehend.
If your garage door gets malfunctioned, you need to call out a professional that may come out immediately and diagnose the issue, give you a repair estimate, and get to work straight away on solving the matter. This really is the sole means to spare you from further trouble and hassle.
You may be enticed to fix the door. This is a lousy idea. Your good intentions can lead to devastating consequences. You may make the issue worse. There is also security to think about. Garage doors are thick and strong. You do not need to place yourself in the position of getting any of your own body parts crushed or hurt. You should take precautions against this type of thing by getting in touch with those with the expertise and the equipment to carry out the repair.
The issue could be easily resolved. If that's true, then the people that you callout are likely to be in a position to conduct the repair and sort it in very little time. A substantial problem may require replacement. This really is really a much more involved job which will surely cost you more money. But it's going to go simpler if you put this at the hands of a person who knows what they're doing.
It's crucial to understand that not all garage repair companies are the exact same. They don't adhere to the exact same calibre of quality, value, service, and excellence. The organization which you use has to have a record and reputation for providing exceptional advantages and outstanding support. Cost is also important. Though spending money to receive your garage door fully functional again is just a worthy investment, so you should not need to cover excessive fees.
The company you use needs to deliver its promises. You have to work with a company that is willing to survive alone by its brand and what it states it may deliver. Obtaining your garage door functioning again should not be that tough and baffling. It is not going to be should you work with the right women and men.

What’s it really like to be an international student studying Sydney dentistry?
We know student reviews are important to help you decide if a program or university is right for you. Reviews are also a great source of info to find out what it’s really like as an international student studying in Australia.
Former OzTREKK student Yasmin has been recently featured in a University of Sydney video, where she shares her thoughts about being an international student studying the Doctor of Dental Medicine in Australia.
Tumblr media
“I chose to study at the University of Sydney because the university and its dental school are ranked among the top fifty in the world for academic excellence. I was also drawn to the calibre of research and educational opportunities, which involves placements and service in under-served communities around Australia.
“I am grateful that we have been able to apply theoretical knowledge into practice so early in the course. By our third week of classes, we had already begun practicing dentistry on plastic models in our simulation clinic. Not only have we greatly improved our manual dexterity, we have become proficient and confident as clinicians. There is a strong sense of responsibility and ownership that accompanies this level of autonomy.”
Program: Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
Location: Sydney, New South Wales
Semester intake: February each year
Duration: 4 years

Early British self-loaders
In the second half of the 19th century, firearms designs evolved at an extremely rapid pace. Muzzle-loaders were made redundant by breech-loaders, which were in turn made redundant by new bolt-action, clip-fed rifles. Some inventive engineers kept pushing the boundaries to try and make bolt-actions redundant, too. At the turn of the century, the British Army, having finally settled on the Lee-Enfield rifle, were now being presented with self-loading rifles. These new rifles, cutting-edge at the time, did away with the manual bolt system and instead employed various mechanics that would allow the rifle to chamber bullets automatically. Consequently, these rifles were contemporaneously called “automatic rifles”, although the definition of that term has changed subsequently.
The first British self-loading rifle was designed by civil engineer William Griffiths and Major Herbert Ferdinand Woodgate of the South Wales Borderers. They designed their prototype in 1892. They funded the rifle’s development through a syndicate of investors, who were all heavily banking on the project to be a success. Their judgment was perhaps blinded by the impressive mechanics of the weapon.
Within two years it was submitted to the British Army for testing. The tests were conducted in 1894. It was less accurate than the Lee-Metford and Lee-Enfield rifles and not as reliable as either. The merits of the self-loading system were considered inessential to the Army, who coveted accuracy above all else. Well-aimed volleys of bolt-action fire was integral to British rifle philosophy at the time. Thus it was that Griffiths and Woodgate’s revolutionary new rifle became a resounding failure, and the investors of the project lost a considerable amount.
Tumblr media
The Griffiths & Woodgate rifle, chambered in .303, was the first self-loader tested by the British Army. A promising weapon that perhaps came too soon.
Tumblr media
The Griffiths & Woodgate rifle, detailed in The Gun & Its Development, 1910.
The Griffiths & Woodgate rifle worked by utilizing a spring-loaded, reciprocating bolt that, when fired, would push back until it was bought to a halt by a spring collar. A handle in a cam slot would then quickly force the bolt to rotate and allow an empty casing to eject and a new bullet to chamber, after which the bolt would turn back and push the hammer down, which was held in place by a sear. Once the bolt had returned to its original position, the rifle was ready to fire again. It intentionally employed what is known as “slam-firing” to achieve fully-automatic fire.
Griffiths seems to have given up on the project after the prototype’s failure but Woodgate was still convinced it could be a success. He conceived an improved, recoil-operated version in 1895 that was capable of semi-automatic shots only, but nobody was willing to invest in the project and it sank without a trace.
In 1902, a new self-loading rifle was developed by the Rexer Machine Company. Rexer was a British firm that originally produced licensed copies of the Madsen machine gun to sell to Britain’s colonies. The Rexer rifle was first tested informally at Bisley and then Army trials were arranged at Enfield in 1904. It was tested against the French Halle rifle and was considered the better weapon of the two, but the examining officers did not realistically expect the Rexer to pass any further trials.
Tumblr media
Not much information is available on the Rexer rifle. It was based on the Madsen gun, but sources conflict over the details of its development.
Tumblr media
Cross-section of the Rexer rifle, published in the Engineering Journal in 1904.
Whether or not it was a suitable weapon for the Army was out of the question, though, because development of the weapon abruptly stopped before more trials could take place. There are conflicting reports on why this was the case; I have read two separate reports that directly contradict one another.
The first claims that Rexer was always merely a shell company established by the Madsen gun’s Danish manufacturers, the Dansk Rekylriffel Syndikat, and that the Rexer rifle was designed by DRS as a development of their earlier self-loading rifle from 1896. According to this source, DRS asked Rexer to produce the prototypes but the project fell through when Rexer tried to juggle between the manufacture of firearms and motor oil, which led to financial woes and a final declaration of bankruptcy.
The other source says that Rexer were a separate organ from DRS and that the Rexer rifle breached the patents held by DRS for their self-loading rifle. A lengthy and very costly court case ensued which ended in DRS’s favor, and resulted in Rexer being forcibly put out of business.
Tumblr media
The Madsen self-loading rifle of 1896. Allegedly the basis for the Rexer rifle.
In 1909 the British Army established the Automatic Rifles Committee specifically to investigate self-loading rifles. The Committee tested many prototypes from around the world. The mechanisms that these rifles operated on were of varying design and quality.
An early British effort submitted to the ARC came from the Royal Small Arms Factory at Enfield. They developed two gas-operated self-loading rifles in 1908, chambered in .303 calibre. Tests were conducted in 1909 for both and neither passed. They were fragile, mechanically complex and susceptible to sand and dirt.
The London Small Arms Co. developed a recoil-operated prototype in 1912. It was chambered for the .276 Enfield cartridge. It failed preliminary trials and was rejected from further testing. LSA never developed any further prototypes of this weapon.
Tumblr media
Enfield’s self-loading prototypes, developed in the late 1900s. They were built to the British Army’s specifications but proved to be of poor reliability.
Tumblr media
The gas-operated prototype from London Small Arms.
Tumblr media
A .276 prototype self-loading rifle from Vickers, tested by the ARC but rejected.
The ARC also tested the first iteration of the long-recoil Farquhar-Hill rifle in 1908, chambered in a rimless .303 cartridge developed by Webley & Scott. The Farquhar-Hill was developed by Moubray Gore Farquhar and Henry Arthur Hill, who met while working together on a bullpup carbine funded by James Baird Thorneycroft. The prototype submitted to the ARC was poorly-built and broke upon testing. A new model was submitted in 1911, which now had a high-capacity round drum magazine. The internal action was completely overhauled from a long-recoil system to gas-operation.
The progress of the trials was hindered by the outbreak of World War I. By 1917, the final revision of the Farquhar-Hill had been developed and was accepted for British service in the August of 1918. 100,000 were ordered, but the requirement for the rifles disappeared when World War I ended, and the order was cancelled in 1919 before most the rifles had been made.
Tumblr media
The third model of the Farquhar-Hill, adopted by the British Army but never issued. Some were converted into machine guns between the wars.
During World War I, there were two attempts to convert the Lee-Enfield rifle into a self-loader. The first was that of Dawson & Buckingham, which was prototyped but never put into production. The other was designed by Nigel Howell and produced by Birmingham Small Arms. It was essentially a standard SMLE Mk.III with a long gas tube running from the barrel to the bolt. Upon firing, the force of the excess gas ran through the tube and pushed the bolt back, upon which the bolt’s cycle was guided through a metal apparatus that resembled a sword guard. After the new round was chambered, the bolt would fall back into place. It was a primitive system but it worked.
The Howell was designed for military use during the war; whether it actually saw service is unlikely. The concept was forgotten about until 1940, when the Ordnance Board considered digging out Howell rifles out of storage and issuing them to the Home Guard as anti-aircraft weapons, but there is no evidence that they ever did end up being issued.
Tumblr media
The Howell automatic rifle. Simply a gas-operated SMLE rifle. Not a particularly ingenious system, but one that worked.
A last mention goes out to BSA’s “auto-rifle”, which was part of their business partnership in the mid-20s with John Thompson’s Auto Ordnance Corporation. The BSA rifle was based on a prototype that Thompson had produced a year prior, and used the “Blish lock” mechanism shared by the Thompson submachine gun. The BSA prototypes were submitted to the British Army for testing in 1927, where they were compared to the Farquhar-Hill rifle. The outcome of the tests were favorable towards the BSA rifle but no action was taken, as there was no desire from the Army to adopt such a weapon.
Tumblr media
The Thompson “Autorifle” manufactured by Birmingham Small Arms. Designed by George Norman of BSA with assistance from John T. Thompson.
It wouldn’t be until the adoption of the FN FAL as the L1A1 SLR in 1954 that the British Army would widely issue their troops with a self-loading rifle, and by that time, select-fire assault rifles were becoming standard. The L1A1 was by all accounts a good, reliable service rifle, but it was the type of weapon that the Army could’ve done with 15 years prior.

Tumblr media
MIAT Mongolian Airlines is to implement Sabre’s Market Intelligence Global Demand Data solution as the airline embarks on ambitious expansion plans. According to the Mongolian Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the country is aiming to attract one million foreign tourists and earn one billion US dollars from tourism this year. The long-term agreement with Sabre will ensure that MIAT is well-positioned to play a crucial role in this tourism drive and follows the launch of MIAT flights in 2019 linking Mongolia to the key Chinese markets of Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Tumblr media
The airline also has plans for further long-haul routes, including a drive to develop flights to the USA. “We are thrilled to announce our new relationship with Sabre at such a key time for our airline. Our plans to grow our fleet and routes, our passenger numbers and our revenue are directly in line with the exponential growth that the country’s tourism industry is currently witnessing,” said Mr. Battur Davaakhuu, President & CEO, MIAT Mongolian Airlines. “To realize our exciting objectives, we must leverage the most innovative technology platforms, and that’s why we have selected Sabre Global Demand Data. The solution will ensure that we have strong data right at our fingertips, providing accurate and complete market information to make well-informed decisions.” Sabre Global Demand Data is a comprehensive and detailed database of origin and destination traffic for airline markets worldwide, encompassing GDS, government, and industry data sources - calibrated and processed on a regular basis.
