Marcus Joseph 1945-2016

He took photos of the Queer Liberation movement in SF and continued to document queer life as he got older from Polk street to Folsom. He fell in love with Callum the moment he saw the younger man. He nearly wins International Mr Leather in 1986 where he met Jack. He and Callum's home is a queer hotspot, and Marcus finds himself with a reputation of taking in strays becuase of it
Callum "Cal" Nelson 1955-2016
Callum moves to the united states from England to pursue a graduate degree in English. He eventually teaches poetry at Berkley, a stance advocate for Student's right to free speech. When his mother dies he is ready to move back to England to keep his brother from having to live with their father. Instead David comes to San Francisco. Callum wins International Mr. Leather in 1990, the same year Mikey wins International Mr. Bootblack. Despite being HIV+ Callum lives until 2016. Friends say he died of a broken heart dying just months after Marcus
Javier "Javi" Morales 1957-1981

Javi grew up a Marxist, hearing about the Cuban revolution. When he moves to San Francisco on his own he hears about a gay man running for city supervisor. Though Harvey Milk is no socialist its a cause Javi can throw himself behind. By Harvey's second campaign he finds himself canvassing with two older men Marcus and Callum, finds himself eating dinner with them, talking politics, and in bed with them doing very little talking at all. He lives to see Harvey elected, and falls away from Marcus and Callum into the political underground. Meeting them for the last time at the vigil for Harvey Milk.
Daniel "Danny" Nelson 1961-1991
Daniel moves to San Francisco at the age of 16, right after his mother dies, leaving Charlie, his highschool sweetheart, behind. He plays football and baseball to have the whole American experience, constantly complaining about the lack of rugby. He eventually moves to Los Angles, to put space between him and Callum. They haven't talked about it, but Daniel doesn't like the idea of sleeping with someone his brother might have picked up before.
Oliver Finch 1963-1991
Callum's first graduate advise. Moved to SF from Los Angles Leaving his queer family behind, but sending them a cute British boy he met. When he goes back to Los Angles to visit he's glad to find that Daniel is getting along with Scout and David. He never puts together that the cute British Daniel he sometimes finds himself in bed with is the younger brother of his advisor. It is not until his funeral that Callum and Daniel find out they both new Oliver.
Charlie Winters 1963-1987
Charlie is an honorary member of the SF crew. He never moves to the states, instead dying in London after only visiting Daniel twice in San Francisco. Charlie's family does not tell Daniel of his passing. It is not until many unanswered letters and a visit back home that Daniel learns, with a door slammed in his face, what has happened to his lover.
William Riley Perry 1968-2020
William grew up hearing that he looks just like his uncle who died in Vietnam. When he mentions this in passing to a man named Jack he met at a bar he can't understand why the man all but runs. As chance happens he meets the man again, and is pulled into a cross-continental queer family. Despite never joining the leather scene Marcus and Callum take him in, take care of him. He finds love and friendship with his uncle's lover. He survived one pandemic, but is the last of the Some Kinda Love crew to die. Killed by a second pandemic.

Photo

I saw this last Sunday at Orchard Beach and had to take a picture of it becuase it truly represents some of the struggles and hope first is the Cuban flag we stand by the Cuban people asking the world to fight for them to help give them freedom , next is the Puerto Rican flag the dark blue one which represents statehood and shows that we have our own struggles being a colony of the United States then the third flag which in my eyes represents the resistance of all abuse from dictatorship and colonialism.. and what i get from this is that even though we have our own problems we as a people would still fight for others when we know something is wrong and inhumane our people have such an amazing heart that we will stand by our Cuban brothers and sisters and that makes me feel so proud of who we are. Now we need to unite to fight for our own people and end the colonialism. Tell me about Magneto🤭
MAY YOU CAN’T SEE IT BUT IM KISSING YOU SO PASSIONATELY RIGHT NOW
Ok so listeeennnn tooooo meeeee, okokokok, so a while ago I went on this James McAvoy bender--don’t ask--and I saw he was in the X-Men movies, whic hi haven’t watched since the Wolverine movies/ Last Stand when I was like, actually a baby. So anyways I flipped them on thinking “yeah what could go wrong?” except I watched them in the wrong order
Anyways here’s an essay on why neither Erik or Prof X was right and the actual answer would be to compromise and these movies how how because they’re both too stubborn and couldn’t it destroyed their friendship and fucked everything up.
Also the fact that X-Men: First Class is the best Villain origin story to ever cross the screen.
Ok so spoilers ahead for X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: First Class
Now, it should be noted that I’m no an X-Men expert I just love these two movies.
So for some context: First Class and Days of Future Past are both kind of prequels, except DoFP is a prequel-sequel?? becuase of time travel?? I’ll explain don’t worry. The point is, they take place in the past where all the characters are younger. James McAvoy plays Professor X (who I’ll just be calling X for this whole thing), Michael Fassbender plays Magneto (aka Erik), oh and Jennifer Lawrence plays Mystic--who will be appearing in this essay XDD.
Alright so first of all have a plot summary: DoFP is about Wolverine getting sent back in time so he can convince a younger Prof X to stop Raven (aka Mystic) from getting caught by this guy Trask who then uses her DNA to create super weapons that irradiate all mutants. The current future Wolverine is in, he, prof X, Magneto, and a few other mutants are trying their best to survive but it’s a losing battle and their only hope is to literally change the past.
This one takes place after the events of First Class, which I will now explain.
So in First Class a younger Prof X and Magneto team up to find and recruit bb mutants to X’s school because the government wants to use Mutants to help fight the Russians (oh head this takes placee in the 1960′s right before the Cuban Missile Crisis). This is essentially a Magneto origin story and also--in my opinion--the best villain origin story to ever cross the screen.
OK so now some details on our main characters:
Magneto/ Erik Lehnsherr: a literal holocaust survivor who’s only goal in the begining of the story is hunting/ killing nazi’s, specifically one nazi who tortured him specifically and I will get into him later don’t worry.
Professor X: super smart rich white boy with a heart of gold but also enough naivete to make a lamb look like a Stephen King character.
Already you can see very stark differences between the two of them. Erik is set up as being a staunch pessimist while X is a vivid optimist, and that makes sense. X’s grown up sheltered and never wanting for anythign while Erik suffered a trainwreck of the greatest traumas in human existence hitting him over and over and over again from like age fucking 9.
Ok also tehre’s J-Law’s character Raven, who is a mutant that can change her skin to look like anythign she wants it to but her actual form is blue/ scaly/ “not pretty” (bullshit but ok). She met X when she broke into his house one night to steal some food and then they became friends, their relationship will become important later but for now that’s all u need to know.
ok so anyways, in the begining of First Class Erik is hunting + killing Nazi’s, specifically looking for this one called Schmidt because when Erik was little he and his family were carted away to a concentration camp where Schmidt witness Erik use his metal bending powers and decided to “train” him. aka physically/ mentally abuse him for years. The whole thing starts with Schmidt trying to get Erik to lift a metal coin with his mind, when he can’t (because he’s a child who didn’t even know he had his powers until literally hours ago) Schmidt puts his mother’s life on the line and when he still can’t Schmidt kills her. This sends Erik it’s a rage and he crushes some nazi heads but then Schmidt is still standing and mentions how “oh gotcha, so it’s rage and pain that’s the key to your powers huh?” anyways this tidbit and the coin will become important later trust me--
Meanwhile Prof X is graduating from Oxford/ generally being an idiot pretty boy. He’s a telepath who knows about his powers and has used them from an early age. He also wrote some big paper on mutants, which gets the attention of an FBI agent who witnesses the villains being mutants and wants his advice
However, the villains just so happen to be Schmidt, who’s going by “Shaw” now, so when X and the agents catch up to him Erik is already there and on a mission to murder his ass. Some bs happens, Erik tries to pull a submarine out of the water but can’t (T-T this will be important) and X jumps into the water to stop him because the mental stress is literally killing him.
That’s how they meet.
It’s important to note: up until this point, Erik didn’t know there were other mutants, so meeting X, who’s friends with Raven, is kind of a big deal for him. He and X become very fast friends and also have a very homoerotic montage where they become dads for a bunch of mutant teenagers, because they realize they can use X to track all these baby mutants, collect them, and train them so they don’t grow up fearing their powers.
youtube
Anyways, the other thing about this is that now that Erik has this newfound group of people that are just like him, he’s opening up, and X is helping him realize he’s actually so much more powerful when he taps into happy memories rather than fueling himself on pain and rage. This scene always makes me sob oh my god--
youtube
Also, fellas--is it gay to “access the brightest cortex” of your homies memories and remind him that hate and pain are not good motivators before reminding him that he has good memories he can draw on and showing him that his life has not been entirely painful?
YEs, the answer is yes are u shitting me??
ok so anyways--something to note about this is that X and Erik are both very protective of all their new kids, but Erik is especially so. I’m going to be getting into this more but just tab thsi thought for later :)
Now, the plot’s kicking up a bit, because it’s at this point that Erik and X capture one of Shaw’s (aka the nazi’s) main lackies and they question her until she gives them the info that Shaw’s planning on using the Cuban Missile Crisis tensions to start a nuclear war to wipe out all humans so that only mutants survive in the new world.
Obviously they want to stop him, but also, you can kind of tell that Erik is not totally against this plan, which only gets to be more later but that’s for later.
Right now I wanna take a quick break to talk about Raven--aka Mystic, aka J-Law. She and X were childhood friends and she kind of clung to him because she doesn’t have family/ anyone she can really be herself around besides him.
X insistently says throughout the movie he sees her as a sister, but it’s kinda obvious she’d be down to fuck. She has this big plotline where she keeps trying to get X to understand why it’s so frustrating for her to have to be using energy to look “human.” Because her natural form is the one with the blue skin. X doesn’t understand this because his power is easy to hide, it’s simple for him to just fake-human and have no one be any wiser, Raven, however, doesn’t have that luxury and when she tries to explain this to X it just flies over his head, insisting she hide her natural self to better fit in if that’s what she really wants.
Queue Erik, who comes in as a king of self love. He’s pretty blunt about it, but his point is basically “you’re wasting energy by constantly pretending you’re something you’re not--stop” and she responds essentially with “yeah but then no one will like me” to which he responds “then make them.”
Raven’s relationship with both the boys is used through both First Class and DoFP to really highlight their faults. X believes humans and mutants can coexist but he thinks we go about doign that by completely ignoring the pages of history of abuse mutants have suffered--and it’s mostly because he hasn’t experienced it.
Erik on the other hand will do everything and anything he possibly can to protect his new family/ people, and in his head that means exterminating any and all threats. By the end of the movie--humans become one of those threats.
The point of this whole ramble is that: they both represent utter opposites, BUT, X’s blind optimism and Erik’s blind pessimism are equally bad.
Ok so back to plot for a second to prove this.
Shaw is revealed to be a mutant himself and he also has a helmet that can block telepathy. (yes it’s the magneto helmetjasjd;fkjaskl;dfjasldkj jsut wait).
His plan’s complicated but basically: he’s going to poke America and Russia until they pop and incite a nuclear war. And it works. The whole pre-climax of the film sees X, Erik, Raven, and the other mutants all working double time to stop Shaw’s plan (AND IT INVOLVES ERIK SUCCESSFULLY PULING A SUBMARINE OUT OF THE WATER!!! BECAUSE NOW HE’S USING HAPPINESS INSTEAD OF ANGER/ PAIN!!!).
Anywho, they’re doing all this, but then some bullshit happens, the plane they’re on crashes oh and -- yeah there’s this part where Erik uses himself as a seatbelt for X it’s fantastic but anyways--
This is finally the climax of the film.
Also possibly the greatest scene in film history in my humble opinion.
Because listen--in order to stop Shaw they need the helmet off of him so that X can telepathically freeze his ass and they can arrest him or whatever. So they split up--Erik rushes into the wreckage to find Shaw and X stays behind ready to freeze the guy as soon as the helmet comes off but--
Well, vengence is just too tempting.
So when Erik gets Shaws helmet off, X freezes the guy, and he’s ecstatic, at least until he realizes Erik plans on killing Shaw.
He’s pleading with Erik because this is vengence and he can’t chose that but Erik just puts on the helmet and--taunts Shaw, pulling out the coin Shaw taunted him with all those years ago and in a mimickry of the game Shaw forced him to play as a child and killed his mother over--he slowly floats the coin at Shaws head, telling him “I’m going to count to ten, and all you have to do is move.”
But he can’t--because X is holding him--and that’s the point, Erik wants him as helpless as he was, and X can’t let his hold on Shaw go because that would mean putting Erik in danger but he’s also in Shaws head so he feels the coin go through his head as though Erik was doing it to him and the fucking cinematography in this scene is so fuaksdjf;laksjd;fjasd;lkfjadsl;asdjf;ljL:DKJFL:SDKJFL:D KFUCKKKKK
youtube
This scene is cinematic perfection don’t fucking lOOK at me unless you agree.
T-T and then, it only gets worse, because now Erik’s finally finished his original purpose--killing the man who killed his mother and ruined his life--and now he’s got a new one, aka protecting his new family aka the mutants.
AND HE’S ONLY PROVEN RIGHT THAT HUMANS ARE A THREAT BECAUSE THEY TURN AND TRY TO KILL ALL THE MUTANTS IN THE PLANE CRASH AND JSUT--
And so he stops all the missiles flying their way, and turns them around on the humans and X has to stop him but he’s not listening and the rawest fucking line in the whole movie comes when X says
“There’s hundreds of men on those ships--innocent men. They’re just following orders!”
And Erik simply replies, “I’ve been at the mercy of men ‘just following orders’--never again.”
And then he goes to blow up the shipsthen one of the other characters goes to shoot Erik and he deflects the bullet wtihout thinking right. into. X’s. back.
Paralysing him.
And just akjd;fjasdflkjasd;lfkj this scene speaks for itself
youtube
Listen just--akjdsf;ljasdlk jguys this movie has no right being this good.
And then the movie closes off with X and Erik literally begging one another to just see it their way--because they both want so badly to be on the same side but they’re too stubborn and they refuse to see compromise and just ajkdf;lja;sdkfja;sdljkfsadlkf
Ok I realize now that I barely talked about DoFP but this is already so long. The major things I was going to bring up was teh absolutely fantastic bitter exes energy that McAvoy and Fassbender bring to that movie it’s excellent but also the fact that X is literally the only person Erik goes out of his way not to kill despite standing directly in the way of Erik’s goal.
Like, you remember my whole deal with Raven??? yeah that’s x10 in DoFP (which takes place quickly after this movie) yeah so her and Erik are close, and shown to be close, but the second he thinks she endangers his fam he literally 180′s so quick and tries to straight up murder her.
BUT HE FUCKING BENDS THE BULLET AROUND X’s HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! X!!!!!!!!!! WHO’S LITERALLY 100% AGAINST HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST
Ok, that’s all. By the way I don’t want to like, up your expecations too much because I actually kind of hate X-Men: First Class almost as much as I love it?? it’s very..... of it’s era, and cheesy, and dumb--but fucking magneto you guys holy SHIT

Remember this from two years ago? Welp...
here’s an upgrade
Headcanons (gonna had some more later bc i’m lazy):
Spitfire:
She’s half british and half japanese
She’s a very proud and traditional Japanese girl and she still keep all her traditons
She’s the youngest in the Wonderbolts (mid 20s born in December)
Bi Bi Bi
She’s autistic
She has PTSD (daddy issues)
She’s extremely close to her mom and sister (Blaze), but she does prefer Blaze
Even thought she’s mentally ill she’s very independent
She share 3 brain cells with Soarin and he has it 95.5% of the time
She and Soarin are extremely close, they’ve known each other since childhood and are basically each other side cick
They met in kindergarten, they were both living in Japan and after they moved to the US they still keep talking in japanese as their “code language”
She’s also very close with Fleetfoot (she view her as a big sister) but it doesn’t seem like that becuase they’re probably at each other thorats 99.9% of the time
She’s dating Thunderlane (7 years)
has two mods only: “no talk me angy >:(” and “depresso espresso”
Soarin
He's Indonesian, Korean (mom side) Argentinian, Cuban (dad side)
Trans demisexual panromantic man (masculine preference)
Has ADHD
He’s surprisingly more close to his hispanic side than his asian side
Mostly becuase he’s very close to his biologiacal mom (a.k.a. Winter Skies a.k.a. bu (indonesian for ‘mom’)) so it smeeed obvious tha he would love to learn about his bu side

This is my recipe for a savory dish combining a little bit of Mexican influences and Cuban influences.
It’s Sofrito Goya Pork, best served over a nice fresh bed of rice. You can easily substitute cauliflower rice as well.
I’d love any feedback

Freaking Voltron
You know what makes me the maddest when it comes to the finale of Voltron?(yes it has to do with ships, fuck off) It’s that the writers and the storymakers set up the perfect opportunity to make both gay and straight ship happen. (Yes I’m talking about Allurance and Klance, screw you)
Imma be honest. As a Klance Stan, I was a little disappointed in Allurance being canon, but hey, who didn’t see it coming, one, and two, it was admittedly adorable. (Even though it popped out of no where faster than my will to live drops as I enter my English class (Like seriously, they have six seasons of nada then out of the blue Lance admits that he “loves” Allura when we have seen more evidence in seasons 2-6 of Plance being canon (don’t attack me)))
Anyway, rants aside, Allurance was the canon ship and really no one could do anything about it-
SO EXPLAIN TO ME, WHY THE FUCK 2 WEEKS AFTER LANCE AND ALLURA HAVE THEIR FIRST KISS, FUCKING ALLURA, THE LIGHT OF MY LIFE, MY FREAKING MAYBE IM GAY STARTER PACK 1, 2, AND 3, DIES BECUASE SHE “HAS TO SAVE THE UNIVERSE” HONEY THE ONLY THING SHE HAS TO SAVE IS ME FROM JUMPING OUT OF THE WINDOW THAT WAS BESIDE MY BED WHEN I WATCHED SEASON EIGHT ALL IN A DAY.
So here I am sobbing my eyes out, fine maybe she says goodbye. Everybody will obviously be torn up about it. Then, after some sort of miracle and a little Jesus, Hallejuah glowing in a dimension that is brighter than my future, then she’s back.
“PSYCHE YOU THOUGHT,” the writers said, “THIS IS THE SEASON FINALE BITCH, YOU THOUGHT SHE WAS SAFE!? WELL SO DID ADAM AND WE ALL KNOW HOW WELL THAT TURNED OUT!”
so here I am, finishing the season, when it pops into my head, “Holy shit, they can make the two most popular ships canon. There’s still hope for Klance.”
Somebody tell me why, why do they have the nerve to pull a YOU-THOUGHT, on us twelve times this season. Including the Adam-comes-back, the Lance-is-bi, The Everyone-is-Safe-and-Happy, and the everyone-ends-up-with-a-fullfilling-future. Like, WHAT!?!
First of all, the season ends with Allura dying ( we all know my anger on that), then **breathes in calmly** you’re telling me, that Lance,
“Spends
The
Rest
Of
His
Life
Mourning
The
Death
Of
Allura,”
Wait there’s more, **clears throat**
“On
A
Farm”
YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT LANCE, MY BUDDY BOY, MY ADVENTUROUS FUCKING GRYFFINDOR, SETTLES DOWN ON A FARM, SINGLE.
Next thing you know he’ll snap and half the universe’s population will go Peter Parker on us.
So first of all he pulled a Thanos, but what makes it worse is that
1. None of his other friends do it (settle down I mean. Yea, nah, his friends are actually repairing the universe. Okay take a few years off if you need but then, sweetly, bless your heart, get your fucking life together)
2. He spends it alone, (maybe with a couple family members and the other paladins occasionally popping by but how often would that happen either ehm you know, getting the universe back in order)
3. He’s Cuban and that probably the worst stereotype the writers could include in the show
4. (👈 got me riled the most) after him being single and ready to mingle, and two bonding moments in one season, Klance doesn’t become canon. (Yea, I know, shitty thing to be ruled up about but seriously if you want to satisfy your audience the most, a wonderful opportunity opened up for the writers to choose both the most wanted ships in the fandom, besides sheith maybe)
Yeah I know, it’s a freakin stretch but still. Allurance literally went on less. The writers have the audacity to include subplot at all, especially when they know the toxicity of the fandom and how they’ll react **cough, cough** to this situation, include all or have none if you want your audience to react the best way. It not only took away from the main plot, but in a sense downgraded Allura to just a love interest.
Yes, I’m aware she is so much more than that, but time after time, again and again, strong females like Allura end up falling in love with a person and that’s all they ever talk about. Allura is amazing and funny and above all heroic, but when her goodbye scene ends up with her spending ten seconds with the other characters and then loving all over Lance and then giving him Alteans markings for absolutely no reason, like, whatT!?!
I know, I know he loves her so he should get a little more attention, but it’s frustrating when a big heroic scene comes up and the hero ends up snogging the love interest.
Anyway, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

the seven husbands of evelyn hugo → taylor jenkins reid
i just want to preface this review with the fact that this book made me feel things that no other book ever has. i don't think i've ever had as immediate a reaction as i did to reading this book. i feel like my updates have made my distaste for this book pretty evident, but in case it wasn't i'm going to walk through all the things i hated about this book one final time before i try and put as much space between me and this work of fiction as humanly possible.
i knew going into the book that evelyn hugo was a latinx character, it wasn't until i started reading though that i discovered our other narrator, monique, was also a woman of color. [ don't call her black though, she's biracial. ] and almost immediately i was uncomfortable with this ide. that said i carried on thinking that i was probably just stretching, reaching for things that weren't there. that said i think that the narrative utterly fails at the nuance necessary to tell the story of a cuban-american finding success in the 50s. utterly fails to depict the nuance in the way that someone like evelyn would have to navigate the world, or how her racial identity would have had an impact on most of the things she experienced in life. it's really only brought up at the beginning when she's initially denied roles and evelyn immediately pivots into this racially ambiguous/spicy white category that she's happy with becuase it ensures her success. that doesn't stop her from later bing mad that her maid doesn't know she's cuban even though she's actively tried to supress that side of her for literally decades. i won't even get into how the narrative makes evelyn retiring to spain to make tortillas her reconnecting with her cuban roots or how monique actively distances heself from blackness while never questioning the impact that being raised by a single white mother following the death of her black father might have any role in that. you really mean to tell me that she has memories of her father but not his family? that the first black person she met was a girl in elementary school? okay. sidenote evelyn just randomly dropping that she supported civil rights and mlk jr towards the end of the book felt totally out of place and while not a big deal that part of the book felt very disconnected from what else was going on.
I didn't feel attached to any of the characters really, let alone any of the seven husbands. i have ones i thought were more interesting, but that's only because so did tjr and they were the ones given more time on the page. none of the characters that appear in the novel though are nearly as developed as evelyn hugo, something that i think makes it easier for a reader to be drawn to. there is literally no one else. no one is given the time or energy, even the major players in her life. i didn't think that the love story between evelyn and the person that would be the lover her life was all that compelling if anything i thought that that person was actually lowkey terrible and the romance they shared was almost certainly nothing to write home about.
there are a number of deaths in this book, and again, didn't care about any of them.
at the end of the day though i did enjoy the voice of evelyn hugo, the character to be clear. though the most revolutionary thing about her is being a bisexual character in their 70s, there's just something about characters like evelyn that i will always support and that's no different here. again though it helps that evelyn is easily the only character crafted with any kind of depth.
i can't in good faith recommend that anyone read this book. i got very little enjoyment, but also there is nothing to gain? i realize and appreciate that my thoughts are in the minority here and i in no way feel like my opinion will ever be the one most agree with. if you do decide to pick this up i hope that you are able to enjoy it in ways i couldn't.
also just a warning but this book details incestuous thoughts of child sexual assault, actual child sexual assault/pedophilia, and abuse in general [ definitely physical, emotional up for discussion i'd say ] so just know that if you want to pick this up.

Jackson Alvarez

Running | Transistor Radio | Dream Within a Dream
Full Name: Jackson Christopher Alvarez | Race/Ethnicity: Mixed Cuban Irish | Age: 28, 36, 38 | Birthday: April 16th | Height: 5′8″ | Weight: 160lbs | Sexual Orientation: polyamorous pansexual | Gender: cismale | Profession: substitute teacher | Mental Health: depression, PTSD, insomnia
Jackson was born in Silver City, New Mexico to Carlos Alvarez and Katherine O’Dwyer. His father was an immigrant from Cuba when he was a child and worked as a college professor while his mother was a writer, in love with ghost stories, and Jackson was named after a ghost town that was somewhat nearby. He grew up with a love for reading due to his mother and, while he wanted to teach, he knew that he didn’t want to follow in his father’s footsteps. He enjoyed school a lot and he knew that he wanted to teach a younger group.
He started to date at sixteen and he felt that there was something wrong with him becuase he always found that he was attracted to more than one person. This, on top of the fact that he felt an attraction towards a lot of people, regardless of what they identified as, made him feel like he was some sort of deviant. He knew about transgender issues since his father had a few students who were trans and decided to educate his family about it to keep them from making mistakes when meeting other trans individuals, but Jackson kept quiet about his own queerness, especially sine he didn’t know what it was. He only learned about pansexuality when he was in college, and polyamory a few years after he graduated.
He went to Touro University in Nevada to study teaching with a minor in english, unsure if he wanted to go into teaching middle or high school. Here he met his first serious girlfriend, Angelique Matthews, who was also studying teaching. They had a lot of classes together and, once they’d graduated, they both started to look for schools close to one another. She had settled into high school and he into middle school.
When Angelique got accepted at Gabrielno High School, Jackson moved to California with her. It took him a little bit longer to find a job but he did find a job at Rancho Learning Center. He did alright with the kids and loved the job, even though it was a lot more stressful than Angelique’s work. They both flourished together and they were doing alright until Jackson got the call that his father had been in a car accident. He had to take a leave of absence to go home and see him, but he wasn’t doing well. The doctors and the Alvarez’s did what they could but Carlos ended up dying due to a complication with surgery. Jackson stayed there, to help his mother, for about a month before returning home.
When he got home there was still stress. He went back to work but he hadn’t given himself time to grieve. He’d been too busy with helping everyone else that he hadn’t bothered to take care of himself. Angelique wasn’t very understanding of this but she gave him his space, thinking that was what he needed. He ended up finding what he needed in Shaun Everett, a parent of one of his students, who was taking classes himself in how to be a counselor. Their relationship was strictly platonic, even though Jackson was terribly in love with him. It was Shaun who explained what polyamory was to Jackson, but when he explained it to Angelique, hoping to get her interested in inviting Shaun into their relationship, she wouldn’t understand. He had all intents to marry her but the concept that he was interested in a man was too much for her. They physically stayed together until the lease to their apartment was up but she wouldn’t listen to him about how he felt about her.
Once they separated Jackson started to struggle financially. He took on a second job, working at a grocer overnights, and graded papers when he could. It took a terrible toll on his teaching. In what little time he had he started to see Shaun romantically but there was little he could do with his schedule, stress, and deepening mental health problems. Shaun was also going through a custody battle with his ex-wife and lost. She wasn’t a great mother but she had a better job and better lawyers. They realized that they were both too stressed and having too terrible of a time to be together so they broken up on good terms, hoping to get back together when things were more stable.
Then there were the budget cuts at the school. Since Jackson’s performance had steadily declined since his father’s death, he was let go from his job. He took on grocery work as much as he could but they would only give him part time work. He tried to be a substitute teacher when he could and got a fair number of jobs, but it was still hard. Studies were the next big thing, pharmacudical ones primarily, and one was paying a great deal more than the others. His sleep schedule was a wreck from insomnia and work so a sleep study seemed to be a good choice.
It, definitively, was not.

@pietromaximoffsbitch *sighs* ok here we go
first of all..... idk how old you are and honestly i dont care to look but i remember i was 13-about to turn 14 when all the shit against trump was coming out and thats when i got politically active.... the biggest reason being.... you know.... thats the age where i started to understand the world around me and all of the politics involved and yes, my parents were involving me in the haha organge man baby hahha (becuase i was becoming politically aware)
the only politics i DID know from obama during his run was these things :1 he was the first black president 2 michelle gave us healthier school lunches which actually turned out back firing and 3 he was involved with common core or some shit like that.... whats your reasoning?
ok onto the actual issue
ok time for a 4th grade civics lesson: the president is also known as the commander in chief WHICH MEANS he is the head of all branches of the military so all important decisions go through him. ill give you the most famous example of it. during the cuban missile crisis, all of JFK military advisors/generals were telling him to launch the nukes. he was the only one in the entire US government to have the authority to launch them. the reason why the world wasnt destroyed in a fucking nuclear holocaust is because JFK chose not to press that button as in: he was the only one in charge of the nukes in the cold war (besides the soviets obviously)
so TLDR: the president is the head of all the military branches and whatever decisions he makes is what happens. you can disagree with me on if that should be abkle to happen, but thats the way the government runs
i hate trump as much as the next guy, but just put opinions on the side for nthese types of things

#bitches be like: brain rot#jesus fucking christ at least do a little research#ahhhhhh#free speech is a blessing and a curse

Module 6: Latinx Identity, Language, and Music
In this chapter it talked a lot about digital media, digital technology, and the rising of the internet. I think what really caught my attention was when it was talking about how Perez Hilton and Dulce Candy both show their Latina/o identities to be able to promote pictures of themselves like being family oriented. Something else I thought was interesting was how Hilton drew criticism to herself for seeming to belittle other celebrities of color. Hilton has also been critcized for some comments that hint that Homophobia is a lot worse than racism. He thinks that his gay identity is a lot more important than his Cuban American identity. Something else that I noticed was that Hilton said a slur to will.i.am because Hilton felt attacked by will.i.am's associate. Hilton thought that saying a homophobic slur was worse and more damaging than saying a racial slur. I just think that that now becuase of the things that HIlton has done people see him as “whitewashed.” He is just not with his Cuban American identity. As for Candy’s Youtube videos she moved away from a Mexican American style dress and speech. She has had people comment on her videos about how she is speaking less and less spanish. Some people even commented that she forgot how to speak her native language. I just think that you can not judge or say something about someone that you dont even know if it's true. Just because she doesn't speak Spanish a lot does not mean she forgot how to speak it.

Orbital Ring train cockpit design with reference/inspiration images. The first is a Cuban crocodile, the second, a Mil Mi 24, third, an Sd.Kfz. 251 and lastly, the DDG 1000 Zumwalt. I chose this images as reference because they all look pretty cool, they all ave a common theme of a sloped front, the DDGs Deck-house inspires the weird but oddly cool looking communications component above the cockpit (the strange tower thing) The Cuban crocodile for the cockpit window and heat shield design, the Mil Mi 24 because its one of the most unique looking aircraft with its double domed cockpit, inspires the concept of having small viewing domes for curious passengers to peer out of, the Sd.Kfz becuase eh... i just like half tracks.
I do intend on expanding these ideas, i actually do have another sheet, its just missing.

The Oscars were Politicized
It saddens me to see how the Oscars were strung by Political Correctness. Instead of giving the prize to movies that truly deserved it (like Kubo) the prizes were given based on ideology (like Zootopia) or for the skin color (Moonlight). Yes this were movies deserving of the prize, but its no coincidence that last year a group of black actors were “protesting” for not getting nominated (even though they never did a movie deserving an award said year) and this year there were so many black getting nominated and winning the prices.
The Politicization didn’t stopped there, all the people going into the award couldn’t stop for a single moment to criticize President Trump in some way (not to talk about the movies, like it used to be, but to talk about Trump) becuase nobody wants to be Kanye West.
This problem isn’t just there, sadly, because we can also see this on any type of entertainment media going around recently.
Mature Romance, with The Legend of Aang starting it, was taken and reduced to only make shipping contest and distract people while the real story was going on.
Relationships were forced to become lesbianised or to be created (even if it didn’t made any sense) just to impulse an idea of “progress” and win over a group of people that won’t defend the series once it gets old (SU gets saved for its story).
They have taken the stories we loved as a child (PPG) and took away what we loved the most about it, leaving a carcass that nobody will ever like (except to show how NOT to make a reboot).
The only reason why videogames haven’t been as affected is only because if a AAA developer tries to do it, the game fails, and indies don’t have that much strength (or be like Undertale, taken away and be destroyed by its conflictive fanbase).
They have taken their own history and twist it to better adjust to their own taste (The Cold War) and criticize anyone who dares to go against them.
They reward you with a price because you live on a foreign country and not because the quality of your movie.
They claim they care for human rights but say nothing about what happens in Iran, China, Russia, Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, Turkey, Vietnam, etc.
They claim to care for women’s rights but defend groups that rape woman as if were a game.
The Oscars were the melting pot of all this people who, instead of going for quality, preferred to appease people for an idea that shouldn’t be the focused of the ceremony and instead preferred to attack a President who haven’t even reached his 100 days of presidency.
When ideology is more important than quality, what you get to see is the decadence of an age that will be looked as a shameful era in history.
P.S.: México =/= Latin America. If you’re going to talk about “helping Latinos”, please talk more than just mexicans. The USA has Venezuelans, Ecuadorians, Panamanians, Cubans, Peruvians, Argentinians and much more latinos than just México and it would be nice if you also took a look to them.
