Makes me wonder if the map design is that engaging and good and fun why we haven't gotten any nightime fog maps in recent games. Defending Thracia's map design is as bad as defending Echoes SoV's ones. Don't take me wrong, I like hard maps (such as Fates' stairs in CQ) but one thing is hard and the other is spending an entire day geting ganged by enemies bc "haha all black map lol funneh".

I like FE5, but it's certainly not because of the gameplay. Most of its vaunted challenge is really just the game being unfair like you say, and capturing enemies isn't interesting enough to make up for that. Fog of war, even in its less brutal iterations later on in the series, has never been a fun mechanic because it's just giving the AI an advantage over the player. It's telling that Three Houses restricted it almost entirely to a handful of annoying paralogues.

What constitutes fun FE gameplay is fairly subjective and is going to vary from person to person, but there's no getting around that every game in the series has its fair share of campy moments which are often some of their most memorable elements. It's just that some games - like Awakening and now Engage - are much more upfront about that being a major source of their appeal.

Transcript: I don't like the fact that Afterdeath ended up determining how the fandom potrays Reaper Sans. People tend to only give Reaper attention when it's Sanscest related, and water his character down to "horny flirty guy who constantly pushes boundries". Reaper—or, really, Reapertale in general, has so much more to offer! The comic and characters are very well done, and the AU is such an interesting concept. I never see characters other than Sans get attention from the AU, though. Plus, not to mention, Soriel is canon in Reapertale. If the fandom is gonna have it's way and focus soley on shipping Reaper, why was this wonderful (and canon) dynamic shoved into the shadows? It's even a dynamic the fandom usually loves—enemies to lovers, opposites attract!

Don't get me wrong, Afterdeath can be cute. But at this point, I don't think I can say I enjoy the ship, because of how it completely destroyed both Reaper and Geno's characters. Plus, lots of Afterdeath shippers tend to act pretentious, acting as if Afterdeath is canon. Especially im the earlier years of the fandom; if you shipped Reaper with anyone but Geno, you'd get bashed for it.

Reapertale as an AU deserves more attention and recognition, including characters besides just Sans! This also ties into how the fandom's favoritism issue with OG Sans, but that's a discussion for another day.

Shen Jiu is a Lan and Qing Jing Peak becomes another Cloud Recesses with lesser rules (4000+ rules that doesn't repeat is just absurd and constricting) and lesser strict punishments. He could either be from XiChen, WangJi, or SiZhui's generation. I'd prefer if he was in SiZhui's generation since Lan Zhan is a much nicer teacher than Lan QiRen. Shen Jiu transfers to Qing Jing Peak as a visiting Disciple to study and gain his Mastery in the 4 scholarly arts. He meets everyone else and gains simps.

Only finding joy in the rare contact with some long time friends that he would go visit, of course it was allowed by the sects heads. LQG got in trouble for trying to tattle on a approved outing of SJs. YQ is bitter that the pretty disciple doesn’t coddle or cling to him like the rest. He liked that attention others give. Hidden behind his calm and collected smile was a growing jealousy every time SJ brushed off his friendly advances to go study.

Flug/Black Hat/Demencia from Villanous are also a good toxic obsession polycule and Dem is actually a stalker so here's at least one that fits the bill

I wrote a fic on this but Viktor Humphries has a complete simulation of Bea's land in Slime Rancher and I just think that's some stalker shit right there and should be addressed.

General Opinion

I think I've done a great job of showing my whole ass when it comes to this trope. My favorite version of it is Nasty Freak and Too Tired to Deal With This Shit. I think it's hysterical, and problematic shipping is at least 80% comedy factor for me. It can be fucked but it also has to be funny.

I do really love Obsesser/Obsession, I love to write for it in soft ways for X Readers, because I love Obsession as the extreme of love in general. I have a lot of trouble with genuine Stalking tho, I guess I just want them to be together so stalking feel unnecessary?? I dunno.
