listen like when you drink someone under the table they are also drinking. so when he shit talked her under the table she is both saying that she was being love bombed / told lies while also acknowledging the bullshit that she was spouting ("he's the one i want" / "i can fix him" / "i've seen this episode and still loved the show" / "it was legendary" / "you're the love of my life"). and that just sucks like it sucks so hard
#like obviously the parallels are intense between what she was experiencing w joe and what she was experiencing w matty but#its also true that she made a connection and lied to herself that the love she had with matty was the same/comparable to joe#and like. thats just hollow when she gets to loml. its just not true anymore (in the text of the album i dont know her personally pls)#(this is obviously metanalysis of the text not her life tho that does intertwine obv)#i just think its so interesting how she like. gets to this part of the album and acknowledges the bullshit!#its present in part 2 of the album too. like the way that she acknowledges that 'something counterfeits dead' and then#on chloe et al clearly feels like ghosts are all around her and like#the prophecy acknowledges that shes confirmation bias-ing these relationships#and idk the albatross feels like its about joe's relationship to her fame. theres just so much that#feels so clearly about the ltr that CAUSED this but that matty just capitalised on#anyway im done talking#aya talks#ttpd#ttpd10

oh oh oh okay. there's so many i want to talk about
okay. first off, i want to talk about rolling. lucas has always been such an interesting character to me in bare. like. 'hey, i got the goods. i don't wanna take care of you all night so we're going to go over drug safety 101 again, okay?', claims he's not going to babysit his friends but goes to take care of ivy, he's the school drug dealer but the sin he confesses to is extra nyquil.
he goes up to jason, holding the very thing jason will use to overdose. he says 'you know we're still cool, right?'. he's not sure the best way to say it but he tries to tell his best/close friend that it's okay, you've still got me
how do you think he felt to find out he supplied jason with the thing he used to kill himself. and it's not like jason didn't know how much would be lethal.
anyway, i think about lucas a lot
i decided michael would be the better person to take that sort of role in the bapo au. it makes sense, honestly. but it just makes the story a little more tragic.
michael is gay, jenna is the only one who knows. michael is probably just as terrified as rich and jake are about coming out in the environment they have spent most of their life in.
unsure whether saint cecelia's was supposed to be just a high school or not. my catholic school went from year 7 - 13. which is probably middle school to high school. there's another school in my town that is year 1 - 13 (so i guess elementary to high school). either way it's highly likely that they went to a catholic primary school. a catholic education system is all they're familiar with
ample time for them to have it drilled into them gay = bad.
if michael just paid a little bit more attention to jake and rich, maybe he would have noticed they were a lot closer than just best bros. maybe he would have noticed that when jake and rich had their falling out, rich was a lot more upset for it being a best friend fight. if michael paid a little more attention, maybe he would have noticed. if michael paid a little more attention, he could have told them that they weren't the only ones.
the 'you know we're still cool, right?' is a lot more loaded when it comes from michael knowing that his close friend is just like him. and michael knows what it's like to feel so alone with such a heavy secret. there were so many things that michael to say to offer some sort of support, he could have told them. but 'you know we're still cool, right?' was the best he could come up with. and that wasn't enough.
anyway. onto the fic itself. the bapo fic doesnt really focus on anyone else during the rave. makes sense since it is mostly focused on rich and jake. but i wanted to explore a little more on michael and his relationship with his faith and his sexuality, which is something he struggles with. his parents didn't take it well, he cannot tell his friends, jenna is the only one who knows, and sneaking out of the school grounds is the only time he can shed that persona of who he has to be to make it through school.
he's another opposite to jake in that sense. because even though they're far away from the prying eyes of their classmates and teachers, and many of their friends are too high to even pay any attention, Jake still takes Rich outside to kiss him. Whereas Michael finds a guy to spend the night with until he notices brooke's panic when chloe suddenly isn't doing too well.
this is a statement that goes for the bare characters too, but all of them are under so much pressure to live up to the expectations set for them by the catholic church. even when they think they've got an escape away from the church figures always watching them, they're not alone. which is something michael thinks about
he's struggling a lot with the relationship of his faith and sexuality, which i imagine would lead to some doubts in his faith at some point.
it's complicated
(and i get it)
(also i need to note that the choice of 'sebastian' being michael's confirmation name was in reference to st sebastian being referred to as the patron saint of the gays putting it simply. and that is definitely why michael chose sebastian. i have no reasoning for jenna choosing veronica. veronica was the first saint i thought of)
just for fun i want to talk about im so obsessed with your ex. the entire concept came to me because every time i listen to that song, i can't help but read it a little bit sapphic. anyway, a lot of olivia rodrigo songs give off chloe vibes. and i had the concept of it working with madeline as well while i was walking to work. made a post, someone agreed to it, couldn't stop thinking about it, decided to write it. (and somehow the song made it to the top of my on repeat playlist on spotify)
i love writing sapphics and confusing feelings of attraction with feelings of jealousy. it works so well for madeline, chloe, and brooke. but this fic is solely from madeline's pov. and i haven't really written for madeline before, if ever.
it was a mixture of the idea that everything madeline does is for the bit and pissing chloe off, and madeline misplacing her feelings of jealousy because she's totally jealous that chloe gets to date jake, when really chloe is the one she wants. and chloe is the one she thinks about the entire time she's with jake. jake's just a trophy, or a stepping stone to what she really wants. because yeah, jake is fine. he's decent. madeline's not sure she gets the hype but whatever
madeline is one of the only people who can say they have dated or at least hooked up with the king and queen of the school
#lohst.txt#ask tag#theabyssgazesalsointoyou#i read a book about mystics saints and sages and saw st artemis#basically being an unofficial saint and essentially the goddess herself#and then told my friend i wish i could change my confirmation name#i can think of many saints i would rather have picked#oh well#madeline 🤝 christine. being shipped with both jake and chloe /j#i was gonna talk about one of my poems from the lavender menace doc. but this is about fanfics

Okay, there are many insane Pricefield things to address here! And a point about Max!
A: Chloe is so not subtle in her attraction to Max. She brings such a “Let’s play truth or dare! Truth: Are you single?” vibe to so many of her interactions with Max, and it’s so very funny considering Chloe has had more romance experience than the much more subtle Max.
B: We know that Max uses photography as a way to avoid interacting with the world. And as we learn from this conversation, she uses it as an excuse to avoid dating as well. Of course, romance isn’t for everyone, but we do know that Max is open to dating considering her relationship with Chloe. So is an interesting note for Max’s character that she uses photography as a shield for every aspect of her life that could be anxiety inducing.
C: Just...Chloe saying “Boys, girls, whatever.” Once again she’s not subtle in her attraction to Max, nor the fact that she would love to get confirmation on Max’s sexuality. She practically throws a rainbow colored lure out there for Max to bite....and Max is so oblivious that she doesn’t take the bait.
D: Chloe is VERY fast to tell Max to move on from Warren. There’s no “Well. Maybe he’ll come back to you eventually,” from her. She’s very clear that she thinks Max needs to move on and see the plenty of other fish in the bay....like herself.
I love this interaction. And I love that even in an alternative universe Chloe can’t hide her crush on her best friend.

Hiii! Can you please do an angst with a happy ending for Alessia Russo x reader? Like r doesn't think something is big of a deal but for Alessia it is and they argue and r is in the doghouse but can you please make it a happy ending?
spin the bottle | alessia russo x reader
based after the england vs scotland game for the olympics qualifiers, let’s imagine leah wasn’t still injured 🤗
—
You didn’t win. Despite the six goals your team scored. Your hopes of heading to the olympics and playing for your country was out the window.
In light of this event, you and the squad decided to deal with the loss in what felt like the most appropriate way; get ‘pissed out your head’ drunk. Deciding to head back to Beth’s who had the biggest place.
You and Alessia made it back to your own place first of course, deciding to change out of the outfit you was wearing that screamed ‘homeless’. “Hurry up, we’re going to be late man.” shouting down the hallway as you waited for your girlfriend to finish up doing god knows what - the perks of dating a femme!
“I’m coming, i’m coming.” She turned the corner, raking a comb through her blonde locks. “Without me? you wound me Russo.” Taking notice of your crude comment, she slapped your arm while you just stayed smirking.
“What time do you call this?” Stanway was the one to answer the door when you arrived at Beth and Viv’s, you wondered how those two were coping with one of them qualifying and one just missing out.
“Blame miss ‘my hair doesn’t look right’ over here.” Nudging Alessia’s side as you remember how you watched her curse herself in the mirror for her hair not ‘staying in the right place’ a good twenty minutes before.
With being the last ones to arrive, and the get together in full swing, everyone was already in conversation with one another. Alessia offered to get you a drink which you took up as you threw yourself onto the sofa where your fellow man united teammates ella and millie sat. “Jesus christ y/n, watch the glass.” tooney shouted as you nearly spilled her vodka all over her outfit.
“My bad. What are we talking about over here anyways?” Millie proceeded to sift through her camera roll before passing you her phone, showing a picture of a hotel somewhere abroad. “Was just telling tooney here where i’m going over winter break, nice isn’t it?” Zooming in on the picture you nodded and passed the phone back. “Where is it you’re going?” Alessia having come back and handing you a beer which you take a swig of. “Croatia.”
“right whoever wants to play beer pong come on up!” Stanway was now stood on a barstool, projecting her voice through the open-plan space. How she hadn’t fallen off it you didn’t know, considering it was wobbling like mad and the brunette wasn’t completely sober at this point.
“Fancy a game?” Turning your attention to the blonde sat in your lap and watched as she nodded. you was split into two teams of four. One team consisted of you, lucy, chloe and niamh while the other was alessia, leah, lotte and beth. “oh my god, of course the arsenal clan makes up a group.” You scoffed as you saw the group line up behind one another. “Afraid you’ll lose y/n?” the england captain smirked while you dismissed her.
Leah went first, bouncing the ping-pong ball on the table for it to land in the middle cup. “Lucky shot Williamson.” You said as you pick up the drink, it was some sort of brown colour which you only assume had been a result of multiple liquids mixed together. Knocking it back down your throat your suspicions were confirmed as the taste practically made you gip.
Taking your turn, you threw the ball and watched it bounce into the far left cup. “Get in!” High-fiving Lucy making your way to the back of the line as the skipper drank the cup’s contents.
After multiple turns, your team now had one cup to take down while the other team had three. Niamh was the lucky lady who got to throw the ball, taking on none other than your girlfriend. She landed it directly in the plastic cup, your team now celebrating the win.
As the night continued so did the alcohol consumption. You could confidently say everyone in the house was at least a little tipsy. It was fun seeing everyone’s drunken personality come out. You had Lucy, Lauren j, Georgia and Rachel claiming the ‘irresponsible drunks’ title. Leah, Alessia, and Chloe the affectionate drunks. Beth, Kiera and Alex fulfilling the ‘wistful’ drunk stage, being reminiscent on their memories. You found yourself in the ‘happy drunk’ category along with the rest of the gang.
“Shit.” You say as you stumble, causing a half full beer bottle to topple over, spilling onto the wooden floor. As you looked for something to clean it with, rachel took notice and smirked. “you know what this calls for? SPIN THE BOTTLE!” With everyone in their buzzed state they didn’t oppose when daly started manoeuvring them into the lounge urging them to take a seat on the ground.
“Is this normal spin the bottle or PG version?” Keira asked which again lead to another wicked smirk form on daly’s lips. “How about every three goes there has to be a kiss.” There didn’t seem to be that much disagreement on the idea and so went ahead with it.
Daly went first off course, suspiciously landing on her bff Millie in which she dared her to down six shots of tequila one after the other. Somehow the girl managed it and props to her because you could hardly muster a single tequila shot.
The game was getting more intriguing with each turn. James took control of Charles’ instagram - posting something embarrassing onto her story, Zelem gave a quick peck to Kiera which got some wolf-whistles, Chloe had to draw something explicit onto Alex’s forehead and so on.
It was Leah’s turn next and she also so happened to the third person, meaning whoever the bottle stopped on was the lucky lady. Watching as she spun it harshly and did multiple rotations around the room, you noticed the bottle starting to slow down as it made its way to your side of the room.
“Well aren’t you the lucky one y/l/n.” The blonde said as she crawled over to you. “Bold statement Williamson, I think you’ll find it’s the other way around.” She rolled her eyes playfully before placing her hand on your neck, raking you in closer. Soft lips met your own in what was a tender kiss. The centre-back didn’t stop there though; she proceeded by tugging on your bottom lip and swiping her tongue across it. You parted your mouth which allowed the blonde to take advantage by snaking her tongue inside. You didn’t know if it was your drunken state, or the simple fact that the blonde locks in front of your face was reminding you of a certain someone, but you’d be lying if you said you wasn’t getting at least the tiniest bit turned on.
Pulling away, Leah moved back to her original spot. A shocked silence fell over the group which you thought was strange. Well, you did at first - until you saw your girlfriend get up and walk out the room with no warning.
You took your queue to follow her and called out after her. She had gone and grabbed her coat and walked out the door, shutting it in your face.
“Less? Where are you going?” You scurried to catch up with her while at the same time hopping trying to put your trainers back on your feet. “I’m going home y/n, i’ll order an uber just please leave me alone.”
“You’re seriously not mad about the kiss are you?”
Alessia let out an exasperated sigh. “You tell me y/n, maybe i’ll go and make out with one of our teammates and see how it makes you feel.” She wasn’t even looking at you while saying all this, instead typing something out on her phone.
“Oh come on, we wasn’t making out. You’re being ridiculous.” Alessia wasn’t the only one annoyed now. You was simply playing the game and just so happened to be the person the bottle stopped on, you didn’t get what the big deal was.
“Y/n you had your tongues down each other’s throats, it was more than ‘just a peck’. Last time I checked Leah isn’t your girlfriend - I am.” It was clear the forward was getting emotional with the tiny but noticeable cracks in her voice.
“Yeah exactly; i’m your girlfriend, so I don’t see what the big fuss is about. I’m not about to run off into the sunset with Williamson.” Speaking of the devil, Leah and Keira come outside and walked towards you. “Everything okay out here?”
“Just dandy! Leah can you please tell Alessia over here that our kiss didn’t mean anything.” As if realisation just sunk in Leah raised her eyebrows, “Shit sorry Less, I didn’t even think about you and y/n - but I can promise the kiss was only in fun.”
Alessia gave a halfhearted smile. “It’s okay Lee, i’m not mad at you. You are single after all.” Now turning back and glaring at you. “So you’re mad at me and not Leah? fucking hell Less I don’t know what you want from me.” Holding your hands up in the air incredulously. Kiera nudged your side clearly wanting this ordeal to be over with “Just apologise to her y/n.”
“Apologise for what?! playing the game? following the rules? She’s acting like i’ve committed a crime for pete’s sake!”
“You’re insufferable sometimes y/n, you really are. Don’t bother coming home tonight.” As if on cue, a white toyota prius came rolling up outside the house, the blonde getting into the back seat. Watching as it made a u-turn and drive off, you felt a hand on your shoulder. “Come on y/n, you can crash at mine for the night and find a way to get back into her good books.” the barcelona player offered.
You nodded and re-entered the house just to gather your belongings and say bye to everyone. It’s safe to say you found it hard to fall asleep without the warm presence next to you that you’ve become accustomed to over the last year. The alcohol effects had started to wear off and you replayed the events from earlier in your head.
Looking back you could see how you may of overreacted and got defensive a little too quick. ‘Why am I such a dickhead’ You grabbed your phone and debated texting the hurt girl but chickened out, figuring you’re the last person she wants to hear from at this very moment.
You figured the best plan of action was to wake up early and talk to Alessia and hope it will resolve the issue, shutting your eyes trying to fall into a slumber.
Making your way out the apartment at around 9am after saying thanks to Kiera you headed to the local corner shop deciding to buy your girlfriend’s favourite chocolate and get her a bouquet of flowers. While you knew gifts shouldn’t exactly be used as a way to excuse your behaviour, you gathered it couldn’t make things any worse than what they were.
Lucky for you, Kiera’s apartment wasn’t far from yours, only a twenty minute walk or so which you was grateful for because winter mornings in england weren’t exactly the warmest. Knocking on the door you wait for it to be opened. The younger girl answered and looked you up and down before reluctantly moving to the side so you could slide in.
“Hey.” You’re the first one to speak as Alessia heads into the lounge. She was wearing her favourite pair of grey sweatpants and a navy blue crew neck t-shirt, not to mention her blue slippers that had smiley faces embroidered onto them. Damn did she look good you thought but best not to say out loud given your current circumstances.
“So I had a think over how I reacted last night and I can see how I was in the wrong and just wanted to apologise.” You pulled out the chocolate and flowers that was hiding behind your back “-And I know it’s no consolation but I got you these.” Alessia took them from you and placed them down on the coffee table.
“It’s okay y/n, I had a think last night too and guess I overreacted to the whole kiss situation.” Scooting closer to her, you take her hands. “No Less; your feelings were totally valid and I completely ignored them. You’re right, I’m your partner - I shouldn’t be kissing other people, even if it is just for a game.”
The blonde sighed, “I guess I just felt a little threatened by Leah after seeing you two kiss.” You was now confused. “Threatened?”
“Oh come on y/n, youse two are always bantering and playfully flirting, not to mention in training the both of you are always laughing together about something. I even thought you were dating when I first met you both.” The mention of this made you feel bad, never did you intend to make Alessia feel like this. While you and Leah may be overly close, you’d never date one another.
“Babe, if there’s any woman out there for me; it’s you. Clearly i’ve not been a very good girlfriend if i’ve made you feel insecure in our relationship, i’m sorry.”
You offered your arms out and waited for Alessia to give into the hug. She slid under your arm and rested her head on your chest. “Are we okay?” You asked now stroking your hand through her golden locks. “We’re okay.” She confirmed.
Breathing a sigh of relief you leant down and kissed her head. “Good. Being in Alessia Russo’s doghouse was not fun.”
It’s not everyday someone like you ends up with a girl like Alessia and clearly you took it for granted. As you sat there in contentment, you vowed to yourself to never let something stupid get in the way of your relationship again.

That’s Not You
Bridget x Reader x Daughter!Red
Based off of @agggtmggbbagad ‘s request.
Synopsis: Bridget looks through the looking glass and sees how awful she could become. She confronts Red back in the present. A lot of doubt comes up and you both want Red to know just how much you both love her.
Warning: angst again 😭. Fluff tho! Lots of feels. Not proofread.
2.2k words
Bridget stood there in shock with the looking glass in her hand. She had typically been so sure of herself. Something about how earnest Red had been for her to open the mirror put her off. She had rationalized that it was a quick peak and that even though she loved surprises, she needed to look. She opened it to see a terrified Red sentence what looked to be Ella as an older woman to treason, and her own face staring back maliciously. She slammed it shut. She thought Red looked like they could be related. And when Chloe called Ella mom, she did find it weird.
Red was her daughter it seems the duel red hair all but confirmed it. She would have to confront Red about it… Except she couldn’t. She didn’t get to Red before she left for her own time. The day haunted her for a long time and she didn’t tell anyone, not even you.
The introduction ceremony was beautiful. She had worn her favorite pink and red gown and everything was going alright. Other than Red disappearing right before the speech started. She worried Red would miss it.
You caught the look in her eyes and rest a hand on her thigh. You were worried for Red too. Bridget took out her deck of cards and nervously starting shuffling.
“Do you mind?” Principal Uma asked and Bridget blushed and stood up. She knew doing a card trick for all these people was silly but she knows it’s a fantastic one.
“Mom no, stop!” She here’s Red yell. She tenses and turns around but continues.
“I’m just playing my favorite game; hearts!” The cards burst into lovely pink hearts. She saw a tear leave Reds eyes but something was a little off about her. She decided to apologize and rap up with an extremely quick speech about her not-so- little Red. Everyone burst into dance and congratulations for the new year.
Something was off about Red the entire celebration. She looked shocked to see you there, her own mother and was quieter than normal. She was usually giggling with Chloe but Reds girlfriend was clinging to her mother.
You also picked up on this and took Bridget to the side.
“Um, Bridgy, can I have a quick word with you?” You ask, guiding her to the corner of the room. You asked Red to go get some punch.
“Yes, of course” Bridget nodded.
“Um, have you noticed anything off with Red? She seems a little madder than usual but not in the normal mad way. I just, I know we have to let our little girl go out by herself but… is there a chance she might be taking this transition just as difficult as we are?” You finished, a worried frown etched on your brow. Bridget thought for a second be for it hit her. That was the same outfit Red wore when she saw her all those years ago. You saw Red but sometimes had the memory of a pickle so it just seemed like a funny coincidence to you. More bizarre things have happened in wonderland.
“Oh no.” Bridget muttered and you grasped her hands in yours.
“What, what is it?” You question.
“I- I don’t know how to say this without sounding completely crazy. Um, so did you ever remember when we were just a little older than she is now, we met those transfers that left so quickly? You were sick that week but you saw them briefly the day Uliana got flamingoed. Well, they were Red and Chloe.” She says and you froze.
“I- what- I, that’s impossible” you pale.
“Nothing is, and I know for a fact it’s Red because- well I looked in the looking glass.” She admitted.
“But you love-“
“Surprises. I know, but I’m glad I did. I think the Bridget Red remembers somehow became completely evil. I don’t know how. But it was true,” Bridget explains. You start shaking a little.
“So I- I’ve met Red before, before she was Red?!” You gasp when you hear Red sigh. She comes over and puts the punch on the table next to Bridget and you.
“So, you do remember,” she whispers.
“Uh-“ you say panicked. You didn’t, and now you do. You need to sit down you’re so confused. You can’t, so you lean against the table.
“Yes my sweets,” Bridget lovingly answers. “I know that you aren’t the same Red from before. I know that I’m not the same as your mother from before.” Bridget smiles sadly.
“That’s for sure,” Red scoffs sadly, “but since you know now. Why is Y/n here?” She asks and it’s like a cosmic joke just punchlines through your heart.
“What?” You say, eyes widening.
“Who was she to you originally?” Bridget asks, now worried about another thing too.
“She was the head maid,” Red cautiously continues, “who is she now?”
You choke back your shock, “I am your mother, adoptive but- were we close? Please tell me we’re close.” Red turns sheepish.
“You were nice to me” is all Red says. She feels bad. As awful as Bridget feels for you, she needs to get to the bottom of the original problem.
“Red, after you left I did take a look at the looking glass and I know I was… rotten. Did- was that why you went back in time? Why?” As soon as Bridget says it Reds eyes grow, ever so slightly, harder.
“Yes, you staged a coup today and killed Queen Ella. On the original castlecoming day, Uliana turned to into a monster. No one helped you and it made you twisted, vengeful, and cruel in every way imaginable. Chloe and I stopped Uliana before you got pranked and we came back. Though, we still don’t seem to know anything from this new timeline.” Red admits and Bridget is brought to tears.
“Oh my, I was awful wasnt I? I remember you talking about your mother- me. I am so sorry, I don’t know what could have happened to make me do those things to anyone but especially you. You are my most precious one. I love you for infinity. I realize you will have a very difficult time believing this but truly I love you so much and- and mother and I will try to prove it every day forward” Bridget finishes with tears streaming down her face, “I know you aren’t a hugger, but could I at least hold your hands for now. I love you so much!”
Red nods, still not used to that. It was one thing when young Bridget was being so nice but this now that she actually was her mom it felt even more insane and dreamlike. She wanted to have this so bad. Red gives her hands to Bridget and smiles softly.
“I’m glad your you again.” She says.
***
Since it’s the weekend Red is supposed to be visiting her mother… well mothers. She is still getting used to the whole going from no good moms to two good moms thing. The messages she got daily as well as the magic mail sent cookies were fantastic and love filled. But this would be this first actual ‘family bonding’.
Bridget and you were a bit of a reck. You were trying to make this visit as welcoming as possible. The two of you stayed up the night prior having an entire stress bake-athon. Bridget got Red a couple of gifts and you made her a fun little photo book and journal of her life to help her catch up on things. It was bittersweet seeing all the photos.
In a sense you both lost the Red you knew. She was withdrawn now and sheltered. She still made an effort to get to know you two and would reply with honest answers. She even opened up about how she liked Chloe and how it was shocking to find out they had been dating for months.
You all tried very very hard. Maybe too hard. You were panicky tidying up the main lounge room, while Bridget made sure Reds Room was perfect. It shouldn’t have been taking her this long. You went to go find her when you heard soft crying from Reds room.
You knock and enter, “Honey, are you alright?”
She looks up at you through bleary eyes. “No.” She whimpers. You immediately go and embrace her.
“It’s gonna be okay. Talk to me.” You urge. She exhaled shakily and it takes everything in you not to start crying with her.
“How could I treat her that way? I just, if I am truly capable of hurting her that badly on purpose what kind of mother am I. I’m an awful person,” she sobs into your hair and you caress hers.
“Shh shh, no of course not. You aren’t her and you never will be. Red said so herself that something awful happened to you. It must’ve altered your brain because you would never do those things willingly no matter how beaten or bruised you are. That’s not you. You’re the Bridget that would read stories to her every day and made sure to go to all of her dance classes. You’re the one who had movie nights with her and happily watched the same movie over and over because it was her favorite. You are the same woman that proposed with a cheesy card trick while dancing to music. I love you and I’m sure Red loves you still and will grow to love you more and more as she sees how kind you really are!” You finish with exhale, now you’ve started crying too. She just holds onto you tighter.
She whispers a soft, “thank you,” before the comforting moment is interrupted by Maddox who has a soft smile.
“Your majesties, Princess Red has arrived.” You both break the embrace. You straighten your top.
“Thank you, Maddox.” You turn to Bridget, “Now come on, we have a daughter to love.”
When Bridget sees her daughter come in she grabs the cookies on the table and immediately offers Red one.
“Chipper chuckle chocolate chip!” She says excitedly. You all grab one and take a bite. The three of you moan in contention at the sweet flavor.
“Red, sweetie, do sit down!” Bridget says and sits next to her but at a respectable distance. She sets the platter down on the table.
“So, first of all. We got a little insight from your messages on how school is going but, please do tell us anything about it. What’s your favorite subject so far?” Bridget continues.
Red hums, “well I’m always one for a good art class. The teacher is pretty nice and we will get to work with our favorite medias for the most part this year!” She starts off, surprising herself with how excited she is to talk about herself for once with her mom.
“Spray paint still?” You ask, leaning against Bridget’s side of the sofa.
“Yes… did I also…”
She starts but you cut her off, “Spray paint funny mustaches on our family portraits around the kingdom? Don’t worry, it was pretty funny actually and the whole town got a good laugh. They were so bushy,” you giggle. The fact that the two of you aren’t mad at her for that speaks volumes to Red already. She smiles.
“Good, but I’m now going beyond just a ‘stache and have moved on to pretty symbols and portraits themselves.” Red says somewhat proudly. Bridget coos.
“I’m glad you’re developing such a wonderful skill! Do you have any photos of your works?” Bridget asks. Red nods and pulls out her phone. She scrolls past a selfie of her with Chloe that she blushes for and shows her painting of a gorgeous white rose dripping into red and a very detailed portrait of the family friend, the White Rabbit.
“Ooh!” You say, “such beautiful shading!”
“Oh this is absolutely stunning work Red,” Bridget adds.
Red grins and puts the phone down. “Thank you Y/n, thank you Mom.” She says in a little awe.
“This does remind me though. Y/n and I have some gifts for you! One second” Bridget stands and grabs two decorated boxes from behind the couch and hands it to Red.
Red rips the first box open with haste, immediately pulling out a couple of new high-end spray paints. “This is totally awesome thank you!” She holds them closer for a second and rips open the second package to reveal a massive book with a picture of little her on the cover and a title reading, ‘Red’s story’. She starts to tear up a little and flips through the first pages.
“We wanted to make it easier for you to keep up with everything that may be different in your own life. This is a picture book that outlines every major and or sweet moment of your life,” you say, dropping your head a little. She stands up and immediately hugs the two of you.
“Thank you moms, this is everything I ever wanted.” She cries softly. You internally squeal that she called you Mom again and Bridget internally squeals because she felt comfortable enough to hug her again. The hug was short but it was a major step, one to be remembered. Maddox certainly thought that way as he took a photo of you three. It was definitely going into the book. After all, it had so many blank pages to fill

Anyone finding the daughter from 'the new norm' to be a closeted queer? Hear me out - From a closeted queer
As you can see here, the 'daughter' is excited that she meets a non binary person. Now, as a closeted queer, one of the biggest desires in these trying times is to meet other people like us, suggesting that chloe (the character's name) is non binary. This is contributed further with the clouds of pink and blue as well as the rainbow in the background, obviously symbolizing queerness and even the trans flag. The trans flag is crucial cuz it aligns with non binary, a lot of non binary people also call themselves trans.
This is amplified through the B plot of the episode where Chole wanting to impress Chaz, indicating that she wants to bond with other queer/non binary people like her.
The most damning thing though, is her bracelet.
This is a pride bracelet which is uniquely a closeted queer experience where you wanna be open about your queerness without actually being open about it, using more subtle symbols such as this. I can confirm as an closeted queer who uses my aro bracelet that my friend made me as a way to express myself and my identity.
I've seen people who think chole is one of the performative allies or at least the allies that do more harm than good (infantilising/fetishising queer people) which I can understand. Hell I thought Karponzi from mr birchum was more of a performative ally than what they were trying to actually satirize. But what makes chole different from karponzi is that from these key details, her allyship stems more from solidarity for queer people rather than performativity or fetishization. Thus, her being excited about Chaz being non binary may stem from her BEING non binary herself and given her 'anti woke' household, obviously cannot be open about it. Therefore, Chole is a closeted queer and I'm gonna steal her as my oc thank you very much.
#the new norm#the new norm chole#her and regina (not regg-ina) are gonna be my stolen ocs now#*evil queer laughing

Out of curiosity, do you think Lila is a compulsive liar? It's something I've never really been able to decide on myself as someone who used to genuinely be a compulsive liar due to trauma/anxiety, and your one of the few writers I know in the fandom that shine a spotlight on lila in your story
The funny thing is, there's actually a huge debate in the psychological community as to whether or not compulsive and pathological lying should be put in the rulebooks as a condition, since its something that can't be diagnosed. The real debate here should be the "WHY" of the lie.
For many people who are defined as "compulsive" liars, whether self diagnosed or by peers, those compulsions some from a desperate, anxious motivation. They want relief from something, and want to escape a situation or a conversation, they're avoiding SOME SORT of confrontation by lying.
Under this definition, Marinette could be defined as a compulsive liar. She lies to hide her identity as Ladybug, and would lie in different, nonsensical ways about her crush on Adrien (to Adrien.) These lies aren't created with the person lying in mind to be elevated to a higher social standing, but to relieve that pressure - with a lie, Ladybug's identity is secured, and its a way to cope with her reality.
(This is doubly confirmed as a case of "coping" and not of self-importance in how guilty Marinette feels about her lies, and how she hates liars - it's a form of self-hatred as well, but that's another conversation.)
In Lila's case, all her lies don't come from a place of coping, but a place of narcissism. Now, her writing has been contradictory here and there, but the safe things to state as fact are that: She has to be in the spotlight, she has to be liked by the people around her and admired, and if those aspects are confronted, she lashes out or doubles down on the lie. This isn't an issue of delusion, either, where someone is so far gone from reality that they believe everything they're saying with an absolute truth. In her case, she KNOWS what she's saying is a lie, and is pretending to believe otherwise. I'll put it like this, Lila doesn't have a condition or underlying issue that makes it so she HAS to lie, she uses it for her own benefit, throwing the argument out the window. The why of the lie is that she's a little shit, and is super manipulative. Lying is just the way it presents. She could have the exact same personality and attitude, and use other tactics to manipulate others with the same result - but because she's a child, the easiest way to do so is by lying. In short, I think she lies compulsive-ly to garner attention, but isn't herself a compulsive liar. Its a tool of manipulation. If Lila was half as rich as Chloe, I'll bet she wouldn't lie. She would have other tactics to use via the power she would hold. It's just a tool, and its the only one she knows how to use.

romance is not dead (if you keep it just yours)
also on ao3
a/n:
for @mcrololo and @shikariix <33 did i listen to paris by taylor swift and enchanted on repeat the entire time while writing this?? maybe... also thanks for the idea/encouragement to write this based on this tumblr post @pyresrpgear!! hope you like this as well :))
People often forget that you can find romance in the most mundane of things, that love exists in the most simplest of gestures.
Chloe was getting some water at the fountain in the common area of Beca’s music label when one of these moments happened.
“Shoot your shot!”
Chloe turns at the sound of the man’s voice behind her. It belonged to one of Beca’s coworkers and she can just make out him slipping behind the wall of the opening to the common area with a subtle wink before her attention lands on Beca, her wife, walking towards her, her own water bottle in tow.
Chloe grins, as she always does when in the same vicinity as the love of her life. “Fancy meeting you here!”
Beca chuckles, nervously, and lifts a hand to rub it at the nape of her neck as if working up the courage to pop the following question:
“You’re really cute. Wanna go out with me?”
Her dark blue eyes are downcast, just like that time eight years ago when they were both in their twenties in university, high on the serotonin and adrenaline of yet another win with their Bellas, after a group hug, when Beca had also asked her out with the same expression, her bottom lip snagged between her teeth and a hopeful lift to her eyebrows.
Chloe’s heart leaps in her chest in the exact same way back then, too, now, like she had been waiting forever for that feeling, that confirmation, that Beca liked her back in that all consuming, I-might-be-sick overwhelming way that Chloe had felt towards her best friend ever since she’d joined their silly little acapella group.
(Even though Chloe considers herself a romantic– she had been reading romance novels ever since middle school, after all– she feels like Beca might just secretly be a bigger one.)
She sets aside her water cup, reaches forward and repeats the gesture with Beca’s, in favor of taking both of Beca’s hands in hers. Beca’s fingers were cold, so she threads them together and squeezes to breathe some warmth into them.
“Yes. Of course I would love to go out with you.”
Beca’s face lit up, like a dang near Christmas tree, and her lips quirk into a huge relieved smile just like they did when Chloe had first said yes all those years ago as well. (Pft, as if Chloe could say no.) She returns Chloe’s squeeze.
“Cool beans.”
And it may be cheesy, and corny, and just a tad bit dumb especially since both of their matching wedding rings are digging into their skins, but it still made Chloe’s day. She already knew that nothing would wipe that dopey grin off her face for the next twenty four hours, and she’s completely satisfied with that fact.
When they got home later that day, after dinner and they’re cuddling on the couch with the heater on and a movie playing in the background, Chloe talks about it, mentioning the shoot your shot comment.
“Was he new or something? What was that about?”
Beca snorts, burying her face into the crook of Chloe’s neck where her breath ghosts over Chloe’s collarbones, “Nah. I told him that I was about to ask out the hottie at the fountain and he’s simply encouraging me. He knows that we’re married, Chlo. Just cheering me on like the dork that he is.”
“Like the dork that you are, you mean,” Chloe corrects, pressing a soft kiss to the center of Beca’s forehead. She finds the whole thing incredibly cute, even though it was small and mundane.
Who says romance is dead just because you’re married? It survives even past death, unlike those classic vows for marriage.

Glassheart lore
Is Red going to roll up her sleeves and holler wildly into Uliana's gang something along the lines of,
"Yo, numbnuts! You mess with Miss Wonderland over there and you mess with me. Count your mofo days, my guy cause in the words of Uma herself 'It's going fucking down!' That's right, Bitch! Your face. My fist. It's a date and it aint consensual-"
as Chloe regretfully mourns the death of the sacred timeline (but also secretely is like 👀🫦😚)?
Can neither confirm nor deny.

How would you rewrite Chloe’s arc in Season 2?
So, personally, I would've just gone ahead and redeemed her. There are various reasons to do so.
She's strongly color coded for Bee, suggesting she would get it. It would be weird if she didn't (shame they didn't do the same to Nino, especially learning that Peafowl wasn't even lost originally, it was added to Volpina last minute).
There were promos and building up confirming she was going to be a hero, and implications that she was going to be part of a team and working with the heroes.
And with the introduction of Lila, and the implication that she was going to be a new antagonist, you didn't need two mean girls to be against Marinette. Much less sorta 3 with Kagami who dabbles in the mean girl trope. Only exception is to have multiple mean girls is to have them face off against other characters than just Marinette, but they're set on that so there should be some sort of change.
Chloe getting a redemption and being a hero is a natural go to.
So Chloe's redemption, I believe, should start off with a loss of power. Something that will humble her for she cannot continue as she is.
And as I've talked about using Lila to push the agenda of Chloe's redemption before, let's talk about another option: using Audrey herself.
Audrey easily could've been another means of pushing the Chloe redemption agenda. She could've been a solid foil to Chloe, by being mean and ruthless, but she's actually hard working, dedicated, and lives with integrity for her career. Things Chloe is not.
And excited to have her mom here, as this is love not freely given, making Chloe want it, it's dashed when Audrey is unimpressed and unhappy with Chloe and how she is.
For not only does Chloe not do her own work and lives live in leisure laziness, living off her parents hard earned money (at least in Audrey's case), but having the audacity to steal another inspiring designer's design and hire an designer to copy it at a competition that Gabriel Agreste hosted (Audrey's never been so embarrassed), Audrey is here to give her entitled daughter a reality check.
She cuts Chloe off on all of her enjoyments.
Sabrina is banned from the hotel. The butler is expected to go over Chloe's work to make sure it is hers and not Sabrina's.
Chloe is expected to get a part time job. She wants to spend money, she needs to spend her own. She'll get the rest of her saved funds at 18.
And, Chloe is to get involved in the fashion industry. If she's going to tarnish it with her laziness and arrogance, she's going to work to make up for it. Specifically, she is going to approach the girl she stole from and make up for her actions.
And at first, it's all terrible for Chloe.
Homework is hard. It's bad enough that Chloe has to stay after school to get a mentorship by the teachers (as no student wants to mentor her, except for Sabrina, who isn't allowed near her, and Adrien but he's busy). At first, Chloe did discover that she could trick Bustier into doing her own homework for her, but Audrey caught on quick and mean Mendeleiev took over.
The part time job was impossible. Chloe kept getting fired. But it wasn't her fault!
Most customers were beneath her service!
They couldn't expect her to touch out of season clothes!
She had to leave work early because she got dirt under her nails. A clear emergency.
There was no way she was going to wear a hairnet, that was going to ruin her hair.
Chloe was just starting to think her mother would let it go when Audrey put her foot down and had Chloe work for her own company, and Chloe was not allowed to quit or be fired, and was to do the work or else she wouldn't be allowed in her own suite. She would have to sleep on the second floor suites.
The threat was scary enough for Chloe to suck it up.
And the worse one... Chloe needed to go and make it up to Marinette. Chloe dragged her feet on this so much that Audrey dragged Chloe there, apologized to Marinette first, then pressured Chloe to apologize. She told Marinette that Chloe here was to work for her and make up for her dishonesty. When Marinette tried to back out and say it's fine, Audrey insisted.
And so Chloe become Marinette's assistant. She would model for her. She would go fetch materials Marinette needed or help carry things when Marinette went out shopping.
It was weird for both girls and neither of them liked it.
But under Audrey's critical eye, Chloe kept up with all these awful changes to her life, but at some point, there was a shift.
Chloe was able to solve a problem without Mendeleiev's guidance. She did it on her own. She... actually felt proud of that. She wondered what else she could solve without the teacher... Oh! And she'll have to show this off to Adrien and Sabrina tomorrow!
At her part time job, Chloe got her first paycheck. And that felt really good. Money she earned herself. This was hers. Not her father's. Not her mother's. This was Chloe's own money. She was so happy that she, weirdly, didn't feel like spending it. She wanted to hold onto it.
And, extra weirdly, she and Marinette are... talking. They're discussing the big name fashion designers and their thoughts on them. They share their criticisms, or the ideas of what they would like to see. Chloe is even sharing her own thoughts on what Marinette creates and Marinette listens and considers it. And Marinette has actually crafted attire and accessories with Chloe in mind, something that is just gifted away, no strings attached, given from someone that doesn't love her unconditionally like her father does. It kinda... felt like it mattered more. Daddy gifts her items so freely that many of those items she just throws away, but anything Marinette gives doesn't feel like that.
Gosh, who knew Marinette had actual tastes? And she didn't quite mind being around her.
Chloe had to wonder what was the world coming to?
Chloe though did still keep her mean streak. Anyone that irritated her or when she bored, she would pick on. Though when Marinette said soemthing, she backed off a lot more than before. She reasoned it's because technically her 2nd boss. But it did make her annoyed. And Cesaire's smug face added to it.
But one day, Lila starts to mess with Marinette and without thinking, Chloe intervened, roasting Lila while she had the chance. It ended poorly as Lila became an akuma and came after her, but Ladybug offered Chloe a lot of praise, much to her glee. And then, Ladybug presented Chloe with a little box.
A box that evidently held the Bee Miraculous.
"Honestly, you're more wasp than a bee," Ladybug said, the box still in hand.
"Excuse me!?" Chloe gasped in full offense.
Ladybug continued, "But I think you're on the way of becoming one. And maybe Pollen will help you get there."
The box was set in her hand, opening on it's own, and in a flash of light and a warming greeting from a little bee thing, dawned the day Queen Bee arose to work with the heroes, bringing her own mean sting to the team.

Okay! So D9 (partially?) confirmed that Max and Chloe broke up after Life is Strange 1 in Bae timeline and why it's a good, logical thing that needed to happen for Max.
First of all, I think it's understandable why they did make them break up. Not because D9 hates Pricefield but this is a game about Max finally facing her traumas. How would they break up? As much as Max says that she and Chloe will be together forever, we forget the aspect of both of them being very problematic. Let's start with Chloe's flaws.
Chloe is so affected by her past that whenever she tries to do something good she can't help but cause more harm, yet she does so little about it. She's so consumed by her grief that all she does is self-pity. It's always someone else's fault and never hers. She also tends to push people into situations they're not comfortable with almost making them hostages of the circumstances.
Max doesn't love herself. She doesn't feel part of the world around her. She feels like she didn't use her powers for true good and only used them for her benefit. Even a part of her doubts if Chloe truly loves her. She is so lacking in confidence, and so afraid of losing her, that all she does is write it down and talk it to herself (literally).
As much as Max and Chloe care for each other, their self-destructive behaviors don't help them much. Lack of communication, selfishness, foolishness even. It's the perfect recipe for a relationship to go catastrophically wrong. And it seems it did. And this is as Life is Strange as it can get.
Life is Strange hits as hard as it does because it feels real. When I go on how flawed Max and Chloe are, I'm not intending to diss the characters but remarking how real they are. Real people have a problematic side, even good people. And even people who love each other can ruin their relationships. Because if you don't love yourself first, loving someone else can only get you so far.
I know the relationship between Max and Chloe is important to many. But life isn't a fairy tale where saying "we'll be together forever" is all you need. Love is something you work on every day. And if you don't, expecting everything to be just fine and taking it for granted, you lose it. But not because you lose something, it means it'll be lost forever. True love prevails even when it seems it's gone. And if you work on yourself and fix what you broke in the first place, your chance to have your happily ever after will be waiting for you.
DE's arc for Max is built upon the premise of exploring her trauma after all that happened in the first game. The thing about trauma is that, no matter how much support you have, if you're not willing to open up and explore it as painful as it may be, there isn't much to be done.
Max bottles up her emotions and tends to deal with an issue until it's up her neck. If the death of Chloe's dad was enough to drive them apart, imagine what watching Chloe die over and over, getting SA'd and almost killed, and tearing reality apart, and the guilt of letting a whole town die did. It's a whole new level of personal conflict that we never saw her overcome, and based on her behavior, don't have many reasons to believe she did. But Safi's death will make her do it and finally face these traumas. And when you face your traumas, there are only two-way outs: sinking even deeper, or coming out to the top, ready to become the best version of yourself. A version capable of loving yourself as much as you love someone else.
It's either they broke up or that line was just a misderection.

Dating ‘Prince Charming’ Part 2/3
[ Lila is finally starting to learn what its really like to be Adrien Agreste's girlfriend and finding out its not everything she hoped it would be. But while the liar struggles Marinette works toward her goals and meets someone new. ]
[ Prefer AO3? Link HERE! | Part 1 HERE! | Part 3 Coming Soon | Masterlist Link HERE! ]
Chloe made her grand return 3 weeks after Lila and Adrien’s big dating announcement. The bossy blonde had been away in New York with her mother and it was only in retrospect that Marinette briefly wondered if the entire timing of her and Adriens break up and Lila and Adriens announcement had been planned. After all Chloe had not taken well to Marinette dating Adrien and the class president was positive she would not take the news that Lila had swooped in right after their big breakup any better.
As it turns out Marinette had been right at least about Chloe not taking the news well. She’d walked into class early (for her) only to be met with chaos as Chloe and Lila stood opposed and yelling filled the classroom. Despite the fact that Marinette KNEW Chloe would hate whoever dated Adrien the sight was still enough to leave her mildly stunned after all Lila and Chloe had been tag team harassing Marinette since the second she and Adrien had started dating so to see the once allies now locked in a vicious match each using their unique brand of awful against each other… Well it was something.
Luckily Marinette knew she would not have to lift a finger to fix things. Because this? This was Adrien’s problem. And Marinette had no intention of helping or playing mediator. After all Adrien had let Lila and Chloe stomp all over their relationship when they’d still been dating, heck he’d even asked Marinette to simply deal with it so now he could deal with it and Marinette severely doubted that Lila would be even half as accepting or accommodating as she had been.
So while the two wannabe queens duked it out Lila with fake tears and Chloe with vicious mockery Marinette simply glided past the drama and up to her seat where she pulled out her sketchbook and started adding the finishing touches to a sketch of a brand new rock and roll suit for Uncle Jagged. Now that she wasn’t chasing after Adrien 24/7 and making him gifts and worrying about him or Lila or Chloe not to mention trying to keep up with her school work and grades all while also being Ladybug well Marinette had time on her hands and she’d been using it to study, track down Hawkmoth with Alya’s help, spend time with friends but most of all she’d been using that time on her career.
As she wrote in what materials she would need to get a certain sheen effect on the outfit, Marinette noticed the green eyes looking up at her desperately from the front of the class. Marinette glanced up noting how Adrien seemed to be trying to plead with her to help as he tried to reign in his dramatic new girlfriend and attack dog childhood friend; she only cocked her head to the side, smiled and offered him a little wave before continuing with her work. Yeah no way was she willingly throwing herself into THAT.
Sure enough before class could start Adrien managed to drag Lila out of the room and into the hallway no doubt to give her the same speech he had given Marinette when THEY were dating Lila bursting back into the classroom a few minutes later looking like she’d just swallowed a whole lemon only confirmed Marinette’s suspicions.
What Marinette had not expected was Lila openly complaining about ADRIEN at lunch, hours after the incidents of that morning. Marinette ate her steamed bun as she watched with mild surprise as the Italian wailed and threw a veritable tantrum as she told the girls all about how Adrien had put Chloe first and had asked Lila to simply deal with it. It was so painfully ironic that Marinette struggled not to roll her eyes. Honestly after the breakup Marinette had for a brief time contemplated revenge because truthfully. She was hurt and mad but Tikki had talked her out of it claiming that karma would have its way Marinette hadn’t believed the little god at the time too lost in her grief and her ice cream but now? Well now Marinette was starting to understand what Tikki meant. Because Lila wanted to be Adrien Agreste’s girlfriend no matter what it took, and she was only now starting to see what that really meant.
Sure enough in the weeks that followed Lila and Chloe kept each other busy allowing Marinette to for the first time in years relax at school. Of course Lila tried to redirect Chloe’s hatred back at Marinette by telling the blonde about how it had been Marinette who initiated the break up. But Marinette had easily overcome Chloe’s rage with honesty after all she had only broken up with Adrien because she knew they were incompatible and that Adrien would be happier with someone else, something Chloe agreed with though the way in which the blonde agreed made Marinette’s eye twitch just a little.
And then of course there was Adrien who was still trying to get Marinette to step in and help him handle his childhood friend and girlfriend but Marinette had been able to dodge him for weeks until they were having a class meetup at the park. Chloe was not attending due to wanting to avoid the ‘peasants’ as she so called them and Lila claimed she would be late due to an important meeting with some famous person. Honestly Marinette had not even bothered to pay attention. Adrien had noted the lack of ‘problem people’ and had decided to make a bold move calling Marinette out as they all hung out together to ‘talk to her in private’ yeah like THAT was going to happen.
Marinette knew Adrien’s modus operandi very well. He’d call you out, ask to talk to you privately and then lay on the guilt trip. No way was she doing that anymore she’d endured enough of them while they were dating to last a lifetime.
“Actually I would prefer not to talk to you alone, Adrien. You're publicly dating someone and we never know when your fans or the paparazzi might be around. Besides anything you can say to me in private you can say in front of OUR friends.”
Adrien looked like a kicked puppy at her words. But as their classmates quickly took her side and insisted he tell Marinette whatever he needed with them around the blonde was backed into a corner.
“Well the thing is… I was wondering if you could help? With the whole Lila, Chloe situation?”
Marinette wasn’t even given a chance to respond. The second the words left Adrien’s mouth the entire class bristled, many giving Adrien looks of confusion and shock as if he’d just spoken pure nonsense and honestly in a way he had. Nathaniel however was the one who said it best.
“Wait I’m sorry are you seriously asking Marinette to mediate between her long time bully and the girl you started dating not even an hour after your break up with her? Are you serious?!”
“W-Well I just thought-”
“Thought what Agreste? That Marinette should put herself in the worlds worst situation completely ignoring her own feelings just to make your life easier?”
Oof Kim going straight for the throat.
“B-But shes the class president!”
“So?! That doesn’t make her a genie! She can't just clap her hands and fix everything nor should she have to!”
Marinette had never heard Rose sound so upset in her life, which is when the young fashion designer knew it was her turn to say her piece and get things back under control.
“Adrien.” She ignored the hopeful look he shot her. “Not only do I not want to get involved but I don’t think it would help. Chloe doesn’t like me and Lila’s ‘disease’-” she said the word with barely concealed sarcasm “acts up when I’m around. So I’m sorry but no I will not help you with this.”
“But I’m sure if you just-”
The look the class shot him was enough to end the conversation and Marinette let out a relieved sigh as her heart filled with warmth she really loved her friends.
A month after the conversation in the park Lila Rossi got her second harsh wake up call to the ‘true joys’ of being Adrien Agreste’s girlfriend and it was a two for one deal.
Lila had seemingly been under the assumption that once she was dating Adrien her own popularity would rise to meet his but she was starting to learn that wasn’t the case. Adrien still got plenty more photo-shoots then she did and most were still solo and since they were fast approaching the spring fashion season Adrien was plenty busy with more and more shoots while Lila was left waiting for her turn in the spotlight.
Perhaps it was the frustration at not immediately sky rocketing her way up in fame or maybe it was the snide comments from Adrien Fangirls talking about the lack of couples shoots but Lila seemingly came up with the brilliant plan to force the spotlight onto herself by demanding, manipulating and forcing Adrien to take her on big flashy fancy dates where the paparazzi always conveniently found them Marinette had no doubt Lila was the one tipping them off but she kept her mouth shut. It wasn’t her problem.
However while Lila was enjoying her tabloid paparazzi fueled fame the class and more surprisingly Gabriel Agreste himself were beginning to notice the way it was wearing Adrien down. Between his photo-shoots and busy schedule all of Adrien’s precious free time was being filled up by Lila and her many needy antics and it was starting to show in the way Adrien carried himself and how exhausted he seemed.
Nino was the one who led the charge just as he had when Lila manipulated the class into thinking her ‘clingy’ but where Marinette had gotten some hurtful but well meaning lectures about her Adrien obsession which in retrospect DID help her realize her love was unhealthy. Lila was not given such a kind well meaning speech instead Nino got mad, something he rarely let himself become.
As it turns out Lila had worn Adrien down to the point where the blonde was too exhausted to function and he’d nearly passed out while standing and talking to Nino and that mixed with the fact that it had previously been Lila who painted the faux picture of Marinette as the clingy evil girlfriend isolating the boy from his friends was enough for Nino to harshly call her out. The liar did do her best to wriggle out of the situation trying to claim she only wanted ‘some’ private time with her oh so busy boyfriend but Nino was not having it and the class was too happy to back him up.
The more Lila tried to defend and excuse her actions the angrier Nino got and much to the liars annoyance the young musician had proof and plenty of it. Between his text correspondence with Adrien that revealed the model was constantly being forced to cancel relaxing friend days to take Lila out on flashy dates that always ended with paparazzi and fans swarming the location and forcing Adrien into high stress situations, and an extremely detailed schedule planner that Nino had made to keep track of his best buds work life balance (potential evidence to blackmail Gabriel Agreste if he ever threatened to pull Adrien out of school again apparently). The facts didn’t lie and they were showing that Lila was the real ‘clingy’ girlfriend.
Things eventually got so heated between Nino and Lila arguing that an akuma appeared to try and take advantage of the situation. Luckily for everyone Ladybug had been patrolling and stopped the naughty little butterfly from making things worse. In the end Lila was forced to grit her teeth and apologize to her darling boyfriend. Though perhaps what upset her more was the way the class proceeded to apologize to Marinette after the fact for ever accusing her of being clingy and taking up too much of Adrien’s free time.
However Lila still thought she had one last ace up her sleeve, and so after the class luncheon ended the liar proceeded to contact Gabriel hoping to get her new boyfriends dad to reign him in and do her bidding. Unluckily for Lila however Gabriel had been paying attention to the situation and that fact that it had ALMOST led to an akuma made him look even closer into things.
And he was not happy with what he found. The paparazzi pictures and articles that resulted from Lila and Adrien’s flashy dates had started positively enough with headlines and puff pieces about how cute the couple looked together, how it was nice to see the young Agreste in more casual settings with his girlfriend. But as the dates became more and more frequent and Lila’s constant demands and needs grew the articles slowly began to change soon they were discussing the concerning amount of money Adrien must be spending on his girlfriend, how exhausted and stressed the young Agreste heir looked under his strained smiles and was he eating and sleeping enough?
The akuma he’d sent had only further confirmed Gabriel’s negative feelings toward Lila though it did make him re-evaluate the young Lahiffe boy. Gabriel had originally thought the wannabe musician might just be interested in Adrien for money but seeing the lengths he went to defend his friend had the designer impressed and even a little grateful. So when Lila phoned to try and throw the boy under the bus and get Gabriel to side with her, well she had another thing coming.
Marinette heard later from Alya and the rest of the girls that Lila was ‘devastated’ how she’d wailed sobbed and thrown the tantrum of the century as she ranted and raved about Gabriel putting a 1 date a month maximum limit on Adrien and Lila. The two lovebirds could still hang out of course but it would be in the company of the rest of the class or other friends, or if they really wanted some privacy it would be strictly at the Agreste mansion for studying. Lila had told the girls that it was unfair and unjust that Gabriel was trying to get in the way of their love! Alya had relayed to Marinette that while the girls agreed that 1 date a month was a bit rough they all thought Lila’s tantrum was a bit childish especially when they all remembered how Marinette had rarely if ever got to enjoy 1 private date a month with Adrien and never in public.
Of course just because Lila had been told ‘no’ didn’t mean the liar was going to listen. And so she began trying to find ways to manipulate Adrien into ‘accidental’ dates, bugging the blonde to take her out instead of settling for lunch at school or trying to conveniently separate the two of them from the rest of the group during weekend and after school hang outs. But each time Lila tried Nino thwarted her eventually the Italian had gotten so angry at his meddling that she phoned Gabriel again this time to try and get the musician removed or banned or ANYTHING so that he’d back off, so when she instead learned that Nino had been asked by Gabriel to keep an eye out on for his son and that Adrien knew about it well the liar was furious.
Marinette learned later this time from Rose and Juleka that the Italian had tried to go on another tantrum tirade only to be stopped by Alya who would not tolerate anyone badmouthing her lovely boyfriend. Needless to say, Marinette was quick to notice the following Monday how Lila pouted and avoided the Ladyblogger like the plague. Luckily Marinette made sure Alya didn’t dwell on it too much by inviting the girl over to help her brainstorm some new ideas.
Because while Lila was focusing on leeching the fame and fortune off her boyfriend and being met with endless failures and a very hostile guard dog called Chloe. Marinette had been THRIVING. The suit she’d designed for Jagged had gone viral online and soon Jagged was passing on her contact information to a small selection of celebrities Marinette felt comfortable designing for. The fact that her identity was a secret and she had a very exclusive client list had only caused MDC to soar even higher in popularity with the public making it clear that they too wanted access to MDC fashion. And so Marinette had done her research and with the help of Uncle Jagged and Aunt Penny she’d set up an online store where she would sell ready made clothes.
Of course just because Marinette was seeing success didn’t mean she had forgotten about her friends. In fact the entire class minus Lila, Adrien and Chloe knew very well the true identity of the elusive MDC and that was because while Marinette was taking big steps toward her dreams she was helping her friends do just the same.
After all it didn’t take long for the internet to learn that the mysterious MDC designed Kitty Sections outfits causing the band to have a surge of free publicity that led to many people discovering their music and falling in love with the band.
Then there was Nathanial, Marc and Alya who Marinette or should she say MDC collaborated with while designing her ‘hero hoodie’ fashion collection all of them saw a boost in views with Marc and Nathanial’s comic picking up new readers though it was there brand new all original idea that had really flown off the shelves earning them an online cult following. Alya meanwhile got her blog spotted by Lois Lane herself who was impressed with the young future journalist and contacted Alya for a summer internship the scream Alya had made almost gave Marinette a heart attack.
And it didn’t end there. When Nino made a short film with Mylene and Kim of all people as his lead actors and uploaded it for free to YouTube MDC who was well known for supporting smaller creatives and signal boosting them on her social media was more than happy to make a tweet linking to the short film. Nino’s short film had been impactful and powerful despite being a comedy satire on Hawkmoth and it had quickly blown up earning Nino a summer internship at a film studio and Mylene and Kim several job offers. Kim had never been particularly interested in acting but after seeing the outpouring of love and support not to mention with the encouragement he got from his lovely girlfriend Ondine he decided to accept a few offers surprising everyone as he developed a new passion that he and Mylene bonded over.
Max, and Alix were also boosted in a similar way to Nino, Kim and Mylene when MDC retweeted some of their creative endeavors. Alix a video where she had used spray paint to recreate a few classical paintings though that had only acted as a signal boost that allowed the skater to be noticed for her real passion Extreme Sports! When a very exclusive extreme sports training summer camp contacted Alix about her attending she’d squealed almost as loud as Alya had. Max meanwhile had his demo for his work in progress video games retweeted by MDC and saw a huge surge in interest and a few interested investors and publishers even arrived with offers, though before he could agree to anything his popularity ballooned even further when a video of him showing off Markov surfaced. He had later joked to Marinette that while he appreciated the support he wasn’t sure how he felt about suddenly gaining a ‘nerd cult’ as Kim called it.
Of course all of Marinette’s friends knew she was largely responsible for their sudden surge of fame and good fortune and many of them tried to dismiss their own talents and give all the credit to Marinette. But the young designer simply threw it back at them. Yes she had signal boosted them and given them a helping hand but at the end of the day the only reason they had gotten so popular and stayed so popular after the brief burst from her influence passed and the internet moved on to the next big thing was because they were talented and amazing without Marinette.
The only problem with the classes' new found fame. Was that sooner or later Lila was bound to take notice. And take notice she did when Mylene appeared as an extra in one of Lila’s favorite daytime soaps. The liar had been so focused on Adrien and trying to leech her fame off him while beating Chloe back with a stick that she had somehow missed all the major developments. And she was livid.
She was supposed to be the most popular girl in school! She was meant to be the star, the one people admired and aspired to be like! The one they envied but loved too much to truly hate! And when she’d finally gotten Marinette and Adrien to break up she thought for sure that all her dreams would come true. But somehow while she’d been busy trying to reign in the pesky little blonde her classmates had all gone and gotten famous without her. Most of them wouldn’t even BE in Paris in the fast approaching summer since many of them either had internships, specialized camps, acting gigs, or in Kitty Sections case a whole music tour with Jagged Stone that for some reason Marinette was also a part of?!?
None of it made any sense and when Lila had gone looking for how exactly everything had happened she kept finding herself looking at MDC’s social media. The elusive and private designer was apparently a super sucker or something as every week they would highlight some small time random creator. Honestly it disgusted Lila who just handed out fame like that? Fame and popularity was meant to be exclusive! Earned! Something for only the most beautiful and talented of society. Not for chubby little idiots like Mylene or nerdy freaks like Max.
Of course Lila was nothing if not an opportunist. Sure in her opinion none of her talentless, average, classmates actually deserved their new found fame and popularity but the good thing was they were also a bunch of gullible idiots. And if she played her cards right they would surely carry her to the top. She already had the perfect lie, she would simply claim to be best friends with MDC and tell the class that she had been the one to recommend that the designer boost her classmates.
It was perfect. Genius really.
So then why did it fail immediately?
Lila stood in front of the class, her face frozen in shock as she was stared down by 10 pairs of angry glares. She had expected overwhelming thank you’s and the class bowing at her feet but the second the lie slipped out of her mouth the class instead turned on the liar like a close knit pack of wolves smelling a sheep. Honestly Lila could not understand where she’d gone wrong, and even if she had said something that was an obvious lie wouldn’t the class just normally brush it off as her disease? So why is it that they were acting this way?
It was Alya who broke the silence first.
“You want to run that by us again? Lila.”
The Italian girl swallowed the lump in her throat and ignored the obvious warning sign that was Alya’s sharp tone. Forcing a charming smile Lila brought out her sweetest voice determined that she could salvage whatever THIS was.
“I was just saying that I’m so happy for all of you! I didn’t want to say anything at the time BUT me and MDC are such good friends! So when he-”
“He?” Alix snorted and rolled her eyes. “Yeah that about confirms it.”
The entire class seemed to agree with Alix as they all shook their heads and shot Lila disappointed and annoyed looks before returning to their own conversations and or hobbies freezing her out. Ignoring her.
Oh that? That pissed Lila off like nothing else. Her cheeks grew hot as she stomped her foot angrily, regaining their attention.
“You guys think I’m telling lies again! You all promised that you wouldn’t judge me for my disease but you are!” For added effect she started to sniffle and sob expecting the class to do what they always did and feel guilty about their treatment of her and rush to comfort her.
Instead she was met with even harsher glares.
“Uhh yeah no duh we think you're lying because you ARE. We” Alix gestured to the people currently in class. “Have all met MDC and SHE not ‘he’ is a wonderful person who helped boost our careers because she thinks we're all super cool and talented not because you asked her too.”
Lila felt her face screw up like she’d just sucked a lemon but she quickly worked it to her advantage as she began to loudly sob.
“T-That’s not fair! You know I can't help my disease!”
“Uhh yeah no. I’m stopping you there.” Alya stood up looking down from her perch at Lila with her hands on her hips commanding the room, Lois had been training her well. “We can accept that MAYBE your lying disease makes you claim things when your nervous or scared like how you always accuse Marinette of stuff, and we can MAYBE believe that your disease makes you mix up names and words so you end up giving the wrong information out about charities and celebrities and yes MAYBE we can believe that you sometimes make false claims about yourself when your stressed out like that time with Clara Nightingale stealing your dance moves. Whatever! But Lila that right there? You were not having an ‘oops I lied’ moment you were actively trying to deceive us to make the false claim that YOU are the reason MDC noticed us when we know the truth. And when I gave you a chance to correct yourself you tried to double down. That was intentional. That was malicious.”
Lila felt her mouth fall open, her eyes blinking in shock. Too late she tried to recover. Tried to explain away the situation and make herself out to be innocent. But the class was done with her and they made it clear in how they iced her out. Eventually she had no choice but to suck it up and sit down at her seat. Not long later Marinette rushed into class followed by Chloe who was latched onto Adrien with Sabrina in tow.
Soon enough the school year came to an end and Lila watched bitterly through the all seeing eyes of the internet as her classmates left for their internships, job opportunities, highly specialized summer camps, and more. Meanwhile she was stuck at home. Oh sure she got to go on a few out of country photo-shoots with Adrien but her fame was still nothing compared to her boyfriends, and it was quickly becoming less than nothing as her classmates rose in influence and popularity. Come the new school year Lila would need to find some way to force the class back under her heel.
Marinette was having the best summer of her life! Jagged had taken Kitty Section on tour with him and insisted on Marinette coming with them as their designer. Marinette hadn’t been sure at first worried about the Hawkmoth situation and her own career. But in the end Tikki and her parents had convinced her. Her parents loved the idea of Marinette leaving Paris and going to see the world with her friends for a bit, and Tikki had reminded Marinette that she had the Horse Miraculous and could come home anytime, besides Hawkmoth had been getting lazier and lazier with both his akumas and the amount of them. So in the end Marinette agreed and it had been the BEST decision of her life.
They visited England before eventually traveling overseas to America. The sights and sounds and new foods were filling Marinette with inspiration and she’d never been so busy sketching. Then of course there was the great company. Uncle Jagged and Aunt Penny were wonderful and quickly ‘adopted’ all of Kitty Section + Marinette. They'd act like doting parents one second and then the next they’d be ordering way too much pizza for the teens to share.
Of course everyone missed their friends and family but video call existed and it was only for the summer anyway. Ivan was the one who was probably the worst off pouting over his beloved Mylene but the group was able to cheer him up encouraging him to write a song for his girlfriend, the piece he wrote became a new hit single the second they performed it on stage and Mylene had loved it.
The group stopped by Florida first where Jagged took them all to Disney World and then Universal Park, pictures of the rocker wearing mickey mouse ears and a hufflepuff scarf of all things while being followed by a gaggle of teenagers had soon gone viral, after that it was off to New York, and then Metropolis where they spent a bit of time so Alya could see them and hang out. Her internship with Lois Lane was going well but she’d still been relieved to see her friends and get some down time to just chill. After that they went to Gotham, which was Jagged’s home town. Now most parents might veto a place as dangerous as Gotham but seeing as how Paris was under siege by an emotional butterfly themed terrorist and they were from a class particularly used to dealing with deadly akumas on a regular basis well they were able to convince their parents to let it happen. And to Marinette’s surprise Gotham turned out to be her favorite place of the whole trip.
Sure the city was gloomy but the gothic architecture somehow inspired Marinette, and while the people were not outwardly all smiles and sunshine they were kind in their own way. But the thing Marinette ended up loving most about Gotham was its beautiful parks and famous greenhouses. Thanks to the influence of Poison Ivy and Bruce Wayne the city of Gotham had become the greenest city in all of America and it was a never ending source of inspiration for the young designer. Not to mention it was thanks to all the inspiring greenery that Marinette had met HIM.
She’d been walking through one of Gotham’s older parks admiring the beautiful blooming wisterias that had been shaped into a long hallway arch when she got bowled over by a massive terrifying but very friendly dog. Marinette had been terrified at first until she noticed the fast wagging tail and happy smile on the dog's face. Tikki had warned her that one side effect of holding the Ladybug miraculous would be extra friendly animals a rather ‘tame’ side effect compared to the super strength, increased speed, and occasional urge to hibernate when cold but still the designer had never expected to be attacked with friendly happy dog kisses, not like THIS anyway. As she squirmed and laughed she tried to gently push the dog off. That was when the dogs owner had come to her rescue. Yanking his dog off of her while admonishing it Marinette was finally able to sit up and begin wiping the dog drool off her cheek with a laugh.
“Don’t scold the cutie too much I’m okay I swear he didn’t hurt me.”
“Even if he didn’t hurt you he’s been trained better than that. I’m very sorry, please allow me to help you.”
The boy’s voice was cool, firmly polite and matter of fact leaving no room for argument. To an untrained ear he might even sound annoyed or angry but Marinette could tell that wasn’t the case. As Marinette accepted the hand the boy offered and let herself be pulled up she suddenly came face to face with the most beautiful pair of green eyes she’d ever seen.
Where Adrien’s eyes were bright like a blinding peridot green, these eyes were soft and warm like the green of a pine tree and Marinette could feel herself melt into them. It didn’t help that the rest of the boy's face was also incredibly handsome. The designer quickly shook herself out of her thoughts and glanced away not wanting to stare. Instead she directed her attention to her assailant, the dog was sitting now staring up at her with its tail still wagging wildly. Marinette smiled and reached her hand down letting the dog sniff her before she gave him some soft pets.
“Such a softy for a big guy. What's his name?”
“Titus. And I apologize again. He really is trained better than that. I don’t know what came over him.”
Marinette felt a little bad but she couldn’t exactly say that she was the chosen champion of a god and a side effect of that was very friendly animals so instead she shot the boy a smile.
“Don’t worry I just seem to have that effect on animals. Back home the pigeons and crows have started fighting for dominance of my roof and balcony because they both want my attention.”
The boy gave her a stunned look before he made a sound that Marinette believed might be a covered up laugh. She smiled even brighter and offered the boy her hand to shake.
“By the way my name is Marinette. And it's a pleasure to meet you.”
The boy looked at her hand for a moment before he eventually grabbed it and shook it awkwardly.
“Damian… It's nice to meet you too. Though I can tell by that introduction that you're not from here.”
Marinette snorted at that.
“Really the introduction was what gave it away but not my accent?”
The boy seemed to blush a little at that before he coughed awkwardly. Marinette took pity on him and giggled.
“You are correct in your deduction mr.detective. I’m visiting from Paris, France with some friends and my uncle.”
If Marinette hadn’t been too embarrassed to look him in the eyes she may have noticed the spark of curiosity when she mentioned Paris. And had she known who Damian truly was at the time she would have known that his curiosity came from the fact that Batman and the other supers had recently learned about the situation in Paris thanks to Lois Lane taking on a new intern who ran the Ladyblog. Mayor Bourgeois had been doing a good job hiding the situation but he’d overlooked the civilian journalist.
“Hm. We don’t get many tourists. What brought you all the way out here. If I may ask.”
Naturally without much thought the pair began to walk through the park together as their conversation flowed. Marinette avoided using Jagged's name not wanting her new very handsome friend to take an interest in her solely for her connections. Instead she told him that Gotham was her uncles hometown and that this was the last stop on what had already been a pretty busy summer vacation. That turned into her telling him a bit about her family in general which got him talking about his family, he complained about his adopted siblings of which there seemed to be many but Marinette could tell he loved them.
Talking about family made him admit he’d come to the park to get away from them for a little while which got Marinette talking about the park and all the beautiful nature in Gotham which got the two of them talking about the best parks in Gotham and then Marinette brought up her sketches and suddenly they were talking about art and other hobbies. Before they had even realized it they were sitting at a bench together hidden away in the trees and wisterias chatting away. Marinette didn’t know why but something about Damian made her feel comfortable. Maybe it was the way he gave her his full undivided attention, maybe it was the way he made sure not to invade her space without consent or how he didn’t interrupt her when she spoke. Either way she felt safe, felt warm, almost like she was home. And judging by the way he seemed to relax the longer they spoke, his stiff body unwinding and his gaze softening, she thought maybe he felt just as comfortable with her as she was with him.
Honestly Marinette could have sat there chatting with Damian all day in fact it had already been several hours when the pair were finally interrupted. Both of their phones began to ring, Marinette’s with the tell-tale alarm of an akuma attack in Paris and Damian’s with an emergency as the Riddler had broken out of Arkham. The teenagers regretfully had to go both citing emergencies before they departed. It wasn’t until later that they realized they had forgotten to exchange phone numbers.
The akuma back in Paris had turned out to be Lila Rossi, it seems that Adrien’s fangirls had never truly warmed up to the liar and they had been trying to dig up dirt on the girl for months before finally finding there evidence. Alya may have privated the videos of Lila’s lies after finding out about the ‘lying disease’ but apparently someone had copied and saved them beforehand. And those videos had finally made their way out into the public. Luckily no one criticized Alya seeing as how she’d already had the common sense to remove the videos from her blog it helped that Alya also made a post explaining the situation in more detail which led to the general public agreeing that it had not been Alya’s fault when she had a teacher and a principle telling her to believe in a fake ‘lying disease’ clearly it was the adults at fault here not the young girl who had believed in them.
Needless to say the public ripped Lila to shreds for being a serial liar with more of her lies coming to light each day now that she had been exposed. And obviously the Italian had not taken it well and gotten akumatized.
Marinette knew that she should be happy that Lila had been exposed. Her classmates certainly were, but instead Marinette could not help but mope. Damian had been SO kind she really had wanted to get to know him better. The fact she’d completely missed out on getting his number gnawed at her. Little did she know that Damian was across the city thinking the same thing as he sat on a Gargoyle statue.
But fate likes to play funny games. A few days later Jagged got a call from Bruce Wayne, a few of his sons namely Tim, Jason and Dick had heard about Jagged being in town and tjat the rocker had brought MDC the famous designer with him. Apparently they were huge fans and had bugged, pleaded, whined, and eventually threatened a hunger strike until Bruce would ask Jagged to pretty please introduce them. So Jagged got the go ahead from Marinette and the gaggle of teenagers plus Jagged and Penny piled into a big van and drove over to the Wayne mansion.
Seeing it from the outside, Marinette felt only intimidation and dread. It was so huge and they were so rich. What if they were unimpressed when they found out MDC was just some teenage girl? Letting Jagged guide her and her friends push her forward Marinette nervously knocked on the door and let herself be led inside by the kind old man who introduced himself as Alfred.
Walking through the halls in wonder Marinette slowly felt her fingers twitch with the urge to design. But she suppressed it and focused not wanting to be rude. As the group turned a corner into a large sitting room Marinette’s blue eyes somehow found a pair of familiar green. She gasped, he blinked wide eyed.
“Marinette?” - “Damian?”
They blinked again, shocked. Marinette eventually snorted and laughed. Damian found himself smiling as he approached the small girl. And everyone else? Well they were just confused. Except for Damian’s family they were confused and freaked out.
“Is the demon spawn, smiling Dicky bird? Or am I hallucinating?”
“No I see it too Jason. He looks genuinely happy.”
“So it's official.” Tim added “we're all hallucinating.”
After some introductions and explanations things settled down with Marinette happy to take the Wayne’s on as clients. And the Wayne’s in turn being suitably impressed and amazed by the young girls accomplishments though the part they found most amazing was how she interacted with not only them but Damian. She was genuine and kind, no fake smiles or hidden double meanings, nor did she let their money and fame impress or blind her in any way. Jason soon declared her a little sister and Jagged preened and puffed as he gloated about not only Marinette but Kitty Section as well.
The rest of the summer spent in Gotham was tons of fun with Jason teaching Juleka and Marinette how to shoot guns and ride motorcycles, Rose and Marinette learning some of Dick’s gymnastics moves, Ivan meanwhile got along well with the quiet Cass and level headed Duke. Eventually Stephanie and Bab’s returned home as well and they also took to the french teens with ease they organized girl nights where they taught the girls how to break and enter something Marinette had a natural affinity for go figure. The most surprising development however was Luka. The slightly older boy had seemingly set his sights on the awkward coffee addicted Tim and had spent the remainder of the summer wooing him.
But while Luka was wooing Tim there was one other couple slowly forming. Everyone had seen the spark between Damian and Marinette and soon enough everyone was shipping it. The pair were often ‘conveniently’ left alone or were sent on errands that somehow conveniently became accidental dates. Marinette had been guarding her heart after Adrien had shattered it but Damian made her want to take the risk and fall in love. He was charming, polite, kind, sarcastic, and as she’d learned after telling him about the entire Paris situation akuma’s and all he was protective but without going so far as to undermine Marinette’s strength. He trusted her to be fast and smart and strong enough to defend herself (especially after they did a bit of fight training for fun and she laid him flat on the ground) but he did worry and care about her.
But still there was something holding back both teens. Something that shattered near the end of the vacation. Marinette had been caught by a villain. Poison Ivy to be exact. The plant villainess had taken note of the new frequent visitor to her greenhouse but what had really gotten her attention was how the plant life reacted to her. And furthermore how the plant life SPOKE about her. Ivy’s curiosity eventually grew too large and so she snatched up the young designer and brought her home. Luckily Marinette wasn’t particularly scared of Ivy or Harley, sure she didn’t like being knocked out but she felt no real fear, in the end Ivy, Harley and Marinette ended up having an unprompted girls day complete with junk food, ranting, bad American tv and more. Ivy eventually figured that Marinette was some kind of Meta one who had a strong influence over plant and animal life and that was enough for her to adopt the small half Asian girl and inject her with her special blend the same one she’d given to Harley to keep her safe in a town full of crazies.
But while Marinette was perfectly fine hanging out with 2 of the 3 sirens Damian had not taken it so well. He had scoured the city trying to find the sirens newest abode all while he gnawed his lip until it bled. Maybe it was the stress that made him slip up or maybe it was just Marinette being too smart for her own good. But when the young Robin came bursting in through a window yelling Marinette’s name something had immediately clicked and she knew who he was. After she’d calmed the situation down and made sure no one fought anyone else, Marinette thanked Ivy and Harley for the nice day and let Robin carry her away. After talking with Tikki and deciding to be reckless and selfish for once in her life Marinette confronted Damian the next day, revealing her own identity in the process. There was some freaking out and a LOT of talking with Tikki and the rest of the bat clan but in the end it seemed to work out for the best. Ladybug was certainly happy to accept the help anyway even if Chat Noir wasn’t going to be.
A week later Damian finally asked Marinette out. Two days after that they shared their first kiss on the ferris wheel. And come the end of summer Marinette, Kitty Section and surprise guests Damian and Tim Wayne were all boarding a flight back to Paris.

𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 ? - Yeah/Nope
𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧'𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙚 - so sorry this took me months!!! so glad you requested ily so you much!!!
The evening was calm besides the light pitter patter of rain on Chloe's bedroom window. The house was quiet, no one else home besides the people in the room, David and Joyce having left for the week.
The sun was setting below the houses, peaking through the torn American flag and dancing along the closet that you were turned away from. The window above the desk being the only thing confirming to you that it was still daytime as you laid sideways on the mattress.
You were snug under your blankets, staring at the laptop in front of you that replayed the same movie that you'd watched earlier. Rachel laying right behind you with a hand on your bare waist.
She took full advantage of the fact that your shirt had ridden up on your hips, her touch slowly luring you to sleep.
Her painted nails trailed up and down your lower belly, face in the crook of your neck as her stare stayed focused on the screen.
Chloe sat not far on the bed, eyes closed but her body sitting up and a headphone in one ear and the other dangling allowing you to hear the muffled song she was listening to.
Rachel didn't seem to care though, just as you didn't. Instead she had different things in mind and it sure wasn't the movie.
She sat up slightly, taking her head away from your neck and peering down at your half lidded eyes. Reflecting the characters in your irises and lazily blinking every few seconds while your breathing stayed slow and steady.
Quietly, she laid her head back down, fingers slowly slipping down to your waistband. Beginning to mess with the strings of your shorts, she snuggled back into your warmth but never stopped.
After a moment of stillness from Rachel again you felt her hand slip underneath the fabric and right onto the hem of your underwear. Quitting her movements and waiting for your reaction which was only a slight twitch at first.
Just her hand resting there provoked you though, the image of her going further slipping into your mind like a bad thought. You bit the inside of your lip at the fantasy.
Moving your legs, you spread them apart just slightly making her smile against your skin. But it didn't stay long and Rachel let the grin slip away, sitting up again to watch your face while moving her fingers underneath your panties, but again she stopped.
Hovering.
Rachel looked over her shoulder at Chloe, quietly giggling to herself, a smirk appearing on her lips before she turned back to you.
"How long until she notices?" Rachel whispered right beside your ear as her finger ran along your wet slit, a tiny gasp heard between the talking of the characters on screen.
"I-" You shut your mouth when that same finger brushed over your clit causing you to spread your legs farther apart. Hoping silently for more. "I dunno- shouldn't we- oh-"
This made your girlfriend laugh, looking back at the other again.
"Guess we'll find out, huh?" You nodded, your eyes now on her instead of the laptop, noticing a familiar, blown out, hungry look in her eyes.
"She's a bit on the oblivious side, though." Rachel moved to kiss you, tasting her cherry Chapstick almost immediatley. Her one finger gathering your wetness while circling your bundle of nerves, the rest of her pulling away from your mouth only to return in less than a second.
"Rach.." "Shhh, I wanna see if she notices. Y'know how she gets.." You did in fact know, you knew all too well. Chloe's possessive want to make you feel good was a blessing and a curse, wanting so bad to be her best for you.
"I–" "Quiet babe.." Rachel lightly kissed your cheek, moving her finger down to your hole light circling it while watching your silent reactions. Choking back your noises to please her.
"Want it?" You expressly nodded, bring your hand up to hold onto her arm. "Mhm." "Good girl.." She teased, giving you a teasing smile while slipping two of her digits deep inside your warm cunt. Feeling your walls envelop her like your entire body needed her fingers.
You whimpered, hiding your face in the mattress as she began moving in and out at an agonizingly slow pace. Rachel's mouth against the flesh of your jaw, sucking and leaving marks up and down your skin for you to have to cover if you wanted to be seen in public.
"Another." A broken whisper left your lips only for her to hear, your girlfriend silently complying and entering another finger into your cunt.
At this your mouth dropped wide, shaky breaths being the only give away of what was happening just inches away from the other now fully awake girl in the room.
Her music was paused but neither you or Rachel noticed that she was listening to your little cries instead.
Chloe watched the blanket move, arm thrown over your waist and in-between your thighs the Chloe could just barely make out the shape of under the fabric.
"Rach..." She heard you whisper, just barely audible and almost unheard by her. "There you go pretty baby, that feel good?" Rachel moved faster, biting the sweet spot on your neck.
Chloe could tell just by how you shifted your body and stretched your other hand up to grab the sheets that Rachel had done something to add to it.
But your mind was so clouded you didn't realize the blue haired girl was watching, three fingers fucking into your warm hole again and again and it began to create a muffled, obnoxious wet sound that made you feel warm in the face.
The build up inside was going to break you though, unaware how much longer you could be quiet for her. Fingertips rubbing along your favorite spots that drove you crazy, again and again.
"You gonna make her come already Rach? Or..."
"Fuck off Chloe." Rachel looked back at her without missing a beat.
"If you wanted to join, could've just asked." She added, smirking at Chloe who sarcastically laughed, crawling towards you while setting her on the blanket, slowly pulling it away from your body.
"I-" Throughout the interaction though, her hand had only sped up with her lips meeting yours again.
In the haze of sitting right on the edge of pleasure you could feel Chloe taking away your pants and underwear letting your legs fall open farther finally tipping you over the edge.
Rachel reached impossible deep inside you as you came, groans and girly whines ripping out of your throat. Legs shaking as you clenched around her fingers, her other hand drawing circles on your clit.
"Good girl, look at her Chlo, isn't she adorable?" Chloe was sat in-between your thighs, holding your calves while watching your pouty eyes turn to look at her.
"When's she not?" Chloe knelt over your body, arm beside your head while she kissed you, her taste a lot different then Rachels. Cigarettes on her tongue and the faint taste of crappy beer lingering.
"Fuck, you havin' fun hot stuff?"
"Mhm.. please more.." Chloe kissed down the part of your neck Rachel didn't, sitting up again to position herself between your legs.
"Rach."
"I got her, come here pretty baby."
Rachel sat behind you, gathering you up into her arms and letting your entire body lay against hers. Your eyes watching her hands flip up your shirt while Chloe watched with a clenched jaw at the sight of your tits.
"Look how pretty you are." She muttered against your ear, lips brushing your skin. "Isn't she pretty, Chlo?" "Fuck yeah."
Her painted finger tips ran over your nipples, a small gasp heard in the room as she did so.
But immediatley it turned into more as you felt Chloe's lips wrap around your lip, warm tongue beginning it's assault on the sensitive bundle of nerves.
"Oh! Oh - oh fuck Chloe!" You tried moving your hands to her hair only for Rachel to grab them holding her own over them before beginning to play with your boobs once more.
"Let her focus babe.." "But-" "No.. you wanna feel good?"
Slowly, she watched you nod your head.
"Look at her baby.. look at Chloe eating your pretty pussy."
You hesitated bashfully, finding Chloe's lustful gaze as she sucked hard on your clit, fingers creeping up to your aching hole.
"Isn't she doing a good job? Making you feel good?"
Chloe fed into Rachel's praise like it was the last thing she'd hear, beginning to fuck you with her two fingers before you got a chance to respond with any sort of coherent words.
You gripped at anything that you could reach, bucking your hips up into Chloe's face again and again in order to grind yourself against her tongue.
"Pl-plea-" Rachel just stared at you, love swirling around in her pupils while you tried your best to come on Chloe's tongue and fingers and almost screaming when a third was pushed in deep.
Her hand moved quickly but her tongue was slow and sensual, teasing you but bringing you oh so close to your release.
"I- can I? Please, please, please, please-"
"You heard her, Chloe."
Playfully glaring at her girlfriend, Chloe seemed to be motivated by this, free hand roughly grabbing the fat of your thigh as she fucked into you at an ungodly pace making a loud, wet squelching sound reach your ears.
You were embarrassed by your own noises but could nothing but let yourself be fingered by her. Hand knuckle deep and running along every spot that made your legs shake and push towards her.
"Come baby, come on Chloe's face."
And you did, feeling throughout every inch of while you trembled in Rachel's arms, grabbing the fabric of her shirt as your jaw went slack and your noises seemed to be the only thing that you could hear in the house.
Chloe's fingers beginning to slow while her mouth soon left your cunt, glistening with your own wetness when she did.
"You did so good baby." Rachel cooed, hand running along your forehead and over your hair, the girl giving you a comforting kiss right above your eyebrow.
"Didn't she Chlo?" "Always, right pretty baby?"
Chloe kissed you much softer this time and no longer did the alcohol or cigarettes linger, instead was the taste of yourself.
"Tha-thank you-" You spoke more to the both then to just one of them, both of them smiling warmly at your fucked out form.
"Don't worry, we're not done yet."
"Two for two?"
"I dunno Chlo, she's been listening so well, maybe a little more."
You looked between them both with nervous excitement, noticing their silent glance at one another before looking back at you.
"Sounds good to me."

Chloe Price is a lesbian
Every now and then I see people headcanon Chloe as Bi or pan. While that isn't bad, I just have to strongly disagree and I would just ignore people's opinions I disagree with. Then I see some disgusting people shipping Chloe with David, Nathan, Frank and Damon and....I just have to make this post.
Chloe Price is a lesbian. There is no evidence of her being interested in men. People can experiment and then realize they are gay and only interested in one specific gender. Just like Willow Rosenberg is a lesbian.
“But Joyce said Chloe had a boytoy phase and had condoms” Joyce is an idiot. Also, that really confirms that it was nothing ever really serious for Chloe. most lesbians dated/kissed/fucked guys before realizing they had no REAL attraction to guys or accepting that. Compulsory heterosexuality guys. If she really feels attraction to guys than yes she is bi but there is a possibility she was with guys because she didn’t realized she had no attraction to them or didn’t accept that.
As for condoms. Condoms aren’t used just on guy’s dicks, they can be used on sex toys to have safe sex with cis girls too (btw yes you can get stds by sharing sex toys in sex without using condoms or sharing the same condom while doing it). and also consider this: trans girls
Before you say Chloe said Jeffershit is “hot for a teacher” gay people can say someone of the opposite sex is attractive, that doesn’t make them Bi or straight. They can see beauty but know they aren’t really attracted, also she was just fucking with Max. You do realize Chloe was fucking with Max, right?
In the scene “boys are so gross”, calls her boy toy phase hella stupid and when max mentions that she couldn’t see Chloe with any of the boys there she says “that’s because you have a good eye” and that she was glad that Rachel had rescued her which to me sounds like a “I thought a had thing for boys and had boy toy phase (as she calls it) but then Rachel made me realize I actually like girls only”
There is literally enough evidence in BTS and LIS to deduce that Chloe Price is interested in girls only.
in 2015 Ashly Burch said “I think Chloe is sexually fluid. I don’t think she really likes to label herself in any particular way” buuuuuuut
in 2018 in the farewell stream:
“When they read over their predictions Ashly said (in reference to the thing about them each being on their 2nd boyfriend) ‘clearly Chloe hadn’t realized some stuff yet’ lol” (as in she didn’t realized yet that she didn’t like boys and liked girls aka lesbian)
Then in LIS:TC Wavelengths. Chloe says this in Steph's flashback
"Check out all these booths pretending they give a shit about us for one month out of the year."
Vocal confirmation about Chloe's sexuality.
Also Chloe's concept art, you literally couldn't get a more queer answer if Ann Bony rose from the grave and slapped you with a pride flag
I blame DONTNOD/Deck 9 and Square Enix for not allowing Chloe to be more overtly forward with her queerness. To me, Chloe is a butch lesbian and Zak Garriss can go to hell with his "probably gay" bullshit.
Say it with me kids. Chloe Price is a lesbian.

The Music of his Soul
A soulmate au written for @ladrienjune!
Ever since she was born, Marinette could hear piano music in her head.
It wasn’t any song that was playing in the world immediately around her; instead, what she heard were the songs that her soulmate was listening to. They came to her as her soulmate heard them, at seemingly random times from early morning to late afternoon, when the golden rays of sunset began to stream throughout Paris.
Marinette enjoyed hearing the piano; it was proof that her other half was out there, alive and waiting to meet her.
Everyone with a soulmate, no matter what kind of bond they shared, received this gift when they were born. Each soulmate could hear the music the other one listened to, as they listened to it. The music couldn’t be just something stuck in their soulmate’s head; it had to be a song they were actually listening to. This made it easier for everyone to find their soulmate, though it didn’t make it a guarantee. Some people never met their soulmate, often because they lived so far away that meeting was impossible.
That had seemed like the situation Marinette’s mother and father were in. The music they heard from each other came at odd hours, and the kinds of songs they heard were often quite different from the ones they heard in their own country. They’d thought they would never get the chance to meet each other, until Sabine took a risk and flew to France. While there, she noticed the music her soulmate listened to coming from a small bakery in Paris, walked in, introduced herself to Tom, confirmed their bond, and the rest was history.
Marinette wanted to be as lucky as her parents had been. She knew her soulmate was in the same time zone as she was, at least, so the odds that she’d meet them were good, relatively speaking. Maybe they even lived in the same city as they did! Maybe they’d passed her on the sidewalk, hidden in plain sight. No matter how long it took, Marinette knew that someday, she’d find them.
Ever since she was young, she dreamed of meeting her soulmate, who would surely be a kind person who’d encourage her, see her for who she truly was, and love her despite any flaws. Her daydreams helped her to overcome Chloe’s bullying, on days when she believed Chloe’s cruel claims that Marinette was too ugly and stupid to ever be loved.
On those days, Marinette would close her eyes and listen to the piano music her soulmate was hearing, knowing that somewhere, someone existed who’d love and understand her. Sometimes she’d go out searching for them, in playgrounds when she was younger, and then in concert halls. She’d told her parents that she mostly heard piano music, and they suggested that perhaps, her soulmate’s parents were musicians. From then on, Marinette attended every concert she could, in hopes that she’d hear the same songs her soulmate was listening to.
But despite all the concerts she’d attended, Marinette hadn’t found her soulmate yet. As she grew older, she’d sometimes go outside and listen to music on her balcony, hoping that her soulmate might hear it, pass by her home, and recognize it. So far, unfortunately, that plan hadn’t worked, either.
When Marinette reached her final year in lycée, she hoped she’d finally met her soulmate. She didn’t have any proof, but she thought it could be Adrien, because she loved him, but also because he played piano, which was something her soulmate seemed to do, now. They’d practice the same song for hours until each flaw in their execution of it was erased. It had annoyed Marinette until she found out about Adrien’s hobby, but she’d never been with him while he listened to or played music yet, so she still had no proof to back her theory.
If one of them put on headphones and listened to something while the other person guessed which song it was, finding out the truth couldn’t be that hard! It was how Alya and Nino had realized their bond. But Marinette was too timid to ask Adrien outright whether he’d be willing to test her theory with him, and she didn’t see any other way to get proof. For now, she was stuck in a strange limbo, both hoping that Adrien was her soulmate and unable to fully believe in her dream while it was only a wishful notion.
Chat Noir had suggested that they were soulmates, after Clara Nightingale was akumatized. But all of Paris had heard that forced duet they’d performed, thanks to the fight being broadcast live. That they both heard it twice over in their heads meant nothing, she’d told him, feeling half bad as his kitty ears drooped.
It hadn’t stopped him from flirting with her, of course. But piano music, especially difficult pieces practiced with such patience as her soulmate had, did not seem to fit her kitty. No, Marinette was certain that someone else was her soulmate.
She found herself thinking about it as she patrolled one evening, swinging through Paris by herself. Chat Noir had left her a message that he couldn’t make it, thanks to a last-minute responsibility popping up, so she was left with her thoughts to fill the silence usually occupied by her partner’s jokes.
As she patrolled the arrondissements, Ladybug visited a few parks, stopping to cheer civilians up and playing with the children to cheer herself up. After so many years with either piano music, her father’s singing, or her partner’s excited chatter filling her days, Ladybug found that she no longer liked silence, so she filled it as often as she could. It felt wrong to be left alone with her thoughts.
Someday, she hoped, she wouldn’t have to be alone at all. Once she met her soulmate, they could keep her company with their laughter and voice, not just their music, as precious a gift as that was.
As if summoned by her thoughts, Ladybug heard the soft sounds of piano fill her mind. She instantly relaxed as she listened to it, though for now, her soulmate was only warming up. Simple chords and exercises, music in their own right, danced through Ladybug’s head as she waved goodbye to the children she’d played with and took off to Paris’ roofs.
From up high, the city’s bustling noise vanished, and it was easier to listen to whatever song her soulmate would be playing this time. Recently, they’d started practicing a new song, playing it over and over. They’d nearly mastered it, though last time, they’d messed up a chord and abruptly stopped practice.
That had been yesterday, and Marinette hadn’t heard anything from her soulmate since then. She was glad to hear from them again now; she’d listened to her favorite collection of feel-good songs that morning, hoping to cheer her soulmate up with the cheerful lyrics. Maybe her attempt to help them had worked!
As Ladybug listened, content to hear her soulmate warm up with a shorter song and then begin looping the slow, melancholic yet beautiful song they were learning, she kept moving through Paris. She was on patrol, after all, and so she continued checking on the civilians she passed, albeit from above, unlike before.
Since the sun was beginning to set and her time to patrol was coming to an end, Ladybug decided to head to her arrondissement, taking her time, appreciating how well the song her soulmate played fit the atmosphere of a lazy Paris in the evening. Golden light reflected in the clouds and the windows of each building she passed, complementing the quiet beauty of the song.
As she listened to the song, Ladybug thought she heard a crescendo, which was odd. Her soulmate hadn’t added one to the song before; it was a calm, soothing piece, by Liszt, if she wasn’t mistaken, and it wasn’t suited for a dramatic performance.
And yet, the song grew louder still, almost as if it was being twice over in her mind.
Ladybug stopped on the next rooftop, frozen as she considered what that could mean. Was she that close to her soulmate? Could she be hearing the song played, not just through the soul bond, but in real life, as well?
Could she be that lucky?
Ladybug quickly turned around, noting exactly which part of the neighborhood she was in, and gasped. She was right beside the Agreste mansion! The music— it couldn’t be coming from Adrien’s window, could it?
Her heart rate quickened as she closed her eyes and listened to the strains of music, unable to completely verify that the song was indeed coming from Adrien’s window. She wanted it to be, of course; she would love to finally have proof that her crush was also her soulmate! And what better match was there for her than Adrien? But she couldn’t jump to conclusions, either! Adrien was hardly the only boy in this part of the arrondissement who played piano.
Hoping for proof, unable to stop herself, Ladybug took a deep breath and swung over to the ledge by Adrien’s window, hiding herself at its far edge while dangling from the roof for extra support. Sure enough, the music grew even louder, and yet, there was no disconnect between the song in her head and the one coming from Adrien’s room.
Heart racing, she peered through the window, catching a glimpse of Adrien himself at the piano. Yes! It really was him!! Ladybug held in a squeal and wiggled excitedly, biting her lip as she smiled. Wait until she saw Adrien tomorrow at school! She’d bring her favorite pair of headphones, show up early, and listen to her favorite songs as she waited for Adrien to arrive. When he saw her, he’d ask to hear what she was listening to, and she’d blush and show him, and he’d realize that his soulmate was her, and they’d hold hands, maybe even kiss, and—
All of a sudden, the music stopped.
Ladybug froze, choking on a gasp as she cowered, crouching below Adrien’s window. Instead of a song, this time she heard footsteps approaching, growing louder and louder until finally, they stopped.
“Hmm,” Adrien’s voice came, travelling down to Ladybug from his window. She shivered. “There’s a yo-yo string in front of my window. How odd.”
Panicking, Ladybug looked up, and met Adrien’s curious gaze.
They stared at each other for a moment. Ladybug’s cheeks warmed as she realized that she’d been caught, and a smile spread over Adrien’s face.
“I knew it,” he breathed. “I could hear the song twice as loud as usual, like it was in my head from the bond and coming from the piano as I played. I thought I was crazy, but it’s you!”
A startled meep tore from Ladybug’s mouth, and she stood up to cover her embarrassment, stepping onto the open window frame. Adrien held his hand out to her, and as she cautiously took it, he pulled her into his room.
“You’re my soulmate,” he said in an awed tone. “Ladybug is my soulmate!”
Ladybug’s flush deepened. “Yes, but don’t go telling the whole neighborhood!” she pleaded.
Adrien slapped his face. “Right, of course, sorry. I just wasn’t expecting this to happen, tonight especially!”
Ladybug raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean, tonight especially? I know what you mean about not expecting this, but— is tonight special somehow?”
Adrien’s eyes widened. “Oh! Not really, I guess, it’s just been a long day, and I thought, you know, if anything else was going to happen, it would be my father telling me I still need to practice more, not my soulmate dropping in and that you’d be her, I mean, how lucky can I get?”
Unable to prevent a smile from crawling onto her face at how excited Adrien seemed that she, of all people, was his soulmate, Ladybug bashfully raised a hand to half-cover her expression.
“I’m glad you think you’re lucky to have me as your soulmate. I’m lucky to have you! I— I mean, it sounds like your day wasn’t all that good, but I’m glad I can help it end on a happier note,” she offered timidly. “I’m glad to find out you’re my soulmate, too.”
Adrien shivered as a smile replaced the concerned look on his face. “W-well, then, would you like to stay for a while? We should probably get to know each other better, now that we know we’re soulmates. I mean! We’ve met a few times before, but I don’t know much about you other than that you’re Paris’ savior. But I want to learn more, if you’ll let me?”
“I’d like that,” Ladybug said, her heart swelling. Finally, she could spend some time alone with the boy she loved!
But Adrien didn’t know that part. He never seemed to realize how much his ‘good friend’ Marinette cared for him, and if he didn’t know that Ladybug, his soulmate, was Marinette, then he had to reason to assume she knew him, at all! She’d have to get to know him all over again, this time as Ladybug.
Maybe she wasn’t quite as lucky as she’d thought. But then again, there was no reason to assume this would go poorly! One more secret was nothing to her when she’d been hiding so many, even if this one was so close to her heart.
“So, what made you choose the songs you’ve been playing?” she asked, noticing that Adrien had taken a seat on his couch. He motioned for her to join him, and so she sat down, close but not too close, less than half a meter away. “The one you’re working on is by Liszt, right? I’ve been trying to place it; it’s part of Liebestraum, though I don’t recognize the exact section it’s in.”
Adrien nodded. “You’re not far off! It’s his Consolation number 6, but there are some similarities to Liebstraum in it. My father wanted me to learn a new piece, and I always liked Liszt, so I chose something of his that was at my skill level. Unfortunately, I keep getting distracted while I practice, and I wasn’t up to Father’s standards when I played the piece for him yesterday. That’s why I practiced it so much today.”
“Ah, that makes sense. I noticed you playing some parts of the song over and over until you got the notes right, but I think you’re perfect! Er, the song, your playing of it, that is!” Ladybug nervously fiddled with the end of her left pigtail.
Adrien watched with pursed lips. “That must be very annoying for you. Every time I mess up and need to start over, I worry that my practice must be driving you insane! I wish I could get each song right the first time I play it.”
“Oh, I don’t mind!” Ladybug jumped to say. “I mean, of course it gets annoying sometimes, but I understood that you were practicing piano, and mistakes are part of practice! I even tried piano myself, that one year. But you’re much better at it than me,” she laughed, and Adrien joined in with a quiet chuckle. “Really, the times when you just keep practicing the same parts, over and over and over… it feels more like you’re punishing yourself than me.”
Ladybug fell quiet, realizing that since Adrien really was her soulmate, those long, painful hours of practice were more likely because of Gabriel’s demands than Adrien’s desire to keep playing piano for so long. Glancing at Adrien, she noticed he looked slightly uncomfortable, shifting slightly and fidgeting with his fingers.
“I always like when you break up the practices with something fun,” she said, quickly trying to change the subject to something a little more fun. “Like, after a mistake, when you play the quick da-da-da-da-da thing, or some other song you know. Or even just smash the keyboard and take your revenge on it,” she said with a laugh.
Those times would sometimes startle her, but she liked the flash of personality they carried. Besides, with how talented her soulmate’s playing usually was, a sudden jangling of keys was out of place enough to be funny and make her laugh.
Adrien’s ears reddened, and he looked horrified. “You could hear those awful key smashes? I’m so sorry! I thought the soul bond would recognize that they weren’t music and not share them! Otherwise, I wouldn’t have done that. Ugh, I’m so sorry,” he repeated, leaning back and covering his face with his hands as his blush spread.
Ladybug giggled. “It’s okay, they felt cathartic! Besides, to me, every sound you make is music,” she admitted without thinking.
Adrien inhaled sharply and dropped his hands away from his face to stare at her. “Really? But you, you can’t mean that! I’ve messed up so many times; you should be sick of hearing me practice by now!”
Ladybug shrugged. “Like I said, it gets repetitive sometimes, and yeah, that can be annoying, but I’m always glad to hear your music. It’s even more special knowing you’re the one creating it! Plus, it’s a reminder that you’re alive, and you’re safe. I was worried when you stopped playing so abruptly last night, then didn’t hear anything else from you. When I heard you playing while I was out on patrol, I was so relieved! And I think the song you’re working on is just beautiful,” she added shyly.
“O-oh, really?” Adrien asked as his eyes timidly met hers. “I’m glad you liked it! It’s not the most exciting, I know, but I think it’s a sweet, gentle piece.”
“It is,” Ladybug agreed. “And you bring out the emotion in it very well. I know your father wants it to be perfect, but I think it sounds good even with a few mistakes. It’s not as if you’re a professional musician,” she mused, looking Adrien up and down.
“Thank you, mi– Ladybug. That means a lot to me, that you think I play it well. Although— you did think I was a professional musician once, didn’t you? Or that my mother was. I remember you went to a lot of piano concerts, before— well, before I started practicing on my own.”
Ladybug flinched, realizing why that must have happened. “Ever since I was very little, I heard piano music through our bond. My parents suggested that maybe one of your parents was a piano player,” she said with a shrug.
Adrien hummed and looked out over the city. “They weren’t entirely wrong. My mother was classically trained, and she was very good at piano. I used to beg her to let me sit on her lap and pretend to play along with her. That’s how I got started on playing piano, myself.”
Ladybug was quiet for a moment. “I’m sorry she isn’t here with you now. I think she’d be proud to know how well you’re doing,” she whispered.
“Thank you,” Adrien murmured. “I hope she would be proud of me, too. And I think she’d be happy to know I finally found you,” he said, turning to meet Ladybug’s gaze. Slowly, he reached out to take her hand, raising it to his lips, and pressed a gentle kiss to her knuckles. “I always wanted to meet my soulmate. You seemed so happy, when you were singing along with your father or listening to rock music. The music I heard from you was always so lively, and I appreciated that you tried listening to piano music on your own, too. Our tastes aren’t that different.”
Ladybug smiled. “No, I suppose they aren’t. You’re a fan of Jagged Stone, like I am!” She smiled, remembering the time Adrien had asked her to autograph the cover she’d designed for Jagged.
Adrien’s smile widened. “Yep! Anyone who doesn’t like him just has bad taste. All my friends like Jagged’s stuff.”
“Then you must have good taste in friends,” Ladybug joked.
Adrien beamed. “I really do! Did you know that my friend Marinette designed cover art and Jagged’s favorite pair of sunglasses for him? She’s so talented and creative! You two need to meet; I’m sure you’d get along well.”
Ladybug barely resisted the urge to squeal excitedly. Adrien thought she was talented! He was bragging about her to his soulmate (who was also Marinette, but he didn’t know that)!
“I’m sure we will,” she said dazedly. “I’d love to meet all your friends! But, Adrien, as happy as I am to find out that you’re my soulmate… it does lead to a problem, you know?”
“What do you mean?” Adrien asked, tilting his head in confusion. Between him and Ladybug, their hands still rested, intertwined.
Ladybug’s heart melted into a warm puddle at how cute he looked. “W-well, you know, I’m Ladybug,” she pointed out.
“Yes,” Adrien agreed, clearly still confused.
“And you’re a civilian,” she continued, waiting for him to understand.
Adrien’s brows wrinkled, but then he seemed to get it. His eyes widened, and he sat up straighter, letting go of Ladybug’s hand. She mourned the lack of contact for a moment before speaking.
“I can’t let Hawk Moth know you’re my soulmate. It’s bad enough that he and half of Paris seem to think Chat Noir and I are linked; can you imagine how terrified I would be if he started attacking you on purpose? Targeting my soulmate to wear me down is exactly the kind of thing he’d do. And I don’t think my heart could take it,” she said earnestly, moving closer to Adrien to take his hand in hers again.
“We can’t let anyone know we’ve found our soulmate yet,” Adrien whispered, eyes shimmering and full of realization. “But that’s not fair! To me or you. I wish I could shout it from the rooftops, that I have the best soulmate in all Paris,” he said sadly.
Ladybug rubbed circles on the back of his hand with her thumb, and he sighed as he looked down at their joined hands.
“I understand why we can’t tell anyone, Ladybug. I won’t even tell Nino, I swear! I just wish that fate was kinder to us.” His mournful eyes met hers, tugging on her heartstrings.
Throwing her hesitance to the side, Ladybug pulled Adrien into a hug, running her fingers through his hair the way she did for Chat Noir sometimes. He melted into it, moving so he was halfway in her lap and throwing his arms around her in turn.
“I wish this had happened differently, so that we could tell everyone we liked,” she whispered to him. “I’m really happy it’s you, you know? I— I’d hoped it would be,” she admitted, hoping he’d understand and not reject her for being just a weird fan.
But he didn’t.
“I did, too. I think about you more often than is probably healthy for my grades,” he giggled. “Sometimes, it distracts me while I’m practicing, if a song reminds me of you. You’ve been the cause of a few of my mistakes.”
Ladybug laughed along with him, pulling back from the hug to look him in the eyes.
“Just because we can’t tell anyone doesn’t mean we can’t see each other, Adrien. Your room might not be the ideal place for a date; I’m sure you dreamed of more exciting scenes for it, but if you want to…”
Her voice trailed off shyly as she realized that maybe Adrien didn’t want to try dating her. What if all he wanted was a platonic soulmate and she’d overstepped her bounds?
Adrien’s eyes shone brightly as he grabbed both her hands and leaned forward as he looked at her. “Really? You mean you’d be willing to date me? Me, when I’m just Adrien?”
“What do you mean, just?” Ladybug scoffed. “Just Adrien Agreste, one of the nicest, prettiest boys in the world! Who wouldn’t want to date you, given the chance? But if you don’t want to date me, I understand,” she said, looking down.
Adrien pulled her into another hug. “Are you kidding me? It would be the best day of my life if you said yes to a date with me.”
Ladybug’s mouth fell open for a moment, and a blush spread over her face like wildfire. Shocked but filled with so much happiness she could burst, she smiled and relaxed into the hug, nuzzling her head against Adrien, where it fit into the crook of his neck.
“I thought I was the one asking,” she murmured, delirious with hope and joy.
Adrien giggled. “Oh, of course. Far be it from me to take a lady’s words from her.”
“I know of a better way you could go about doing it,” Ladybug muttered without thinking. Then she stiffened and fell back onto the sofa, letting out an alarmed squeak. “Sorry! That forward so wug, gah,” she moaned. She peered up at Adrien to see how bad the damage was.
Adrien was blushing, but he looked more happy than anything else.
“Maybe after you finish asking me,” he suggested, and Ladybug’s cheeks burned.
“Will you go on a date with me,” she said as quickly as possible, not sure if the words made sense or if they’d blended together into an incomprehensible soup again.
“Yes!” Adrien crowed, diving forward to claim her lips in an exuberant kiss. Their teeth clacked together at first, but they adjusted their positions and tried again, melting into each other’s arms as they enjoyed a few moments of bliss. This time, Ladybug tugged Adrien’s lower lip between hers, noting with pleasure the low sound he made in response. His arms tightened around her, erasing the distance between them, and their eyes closed as if in rapture.
After what felt like both forever and not long enough, the kiss ended, and they both sat back, gasping for air.
“So, when should the date be?” Adrien asked once he’d caught his breath. “I guess it’s late now, but I could set something up tomorrow evening, if you’re free?”
Ladybug, flushed pink from the kiss, blushed deeper at his words. She giggled, helplessly delighted by the way the day had turned out. She’d found out Adrien was her soulmate, and they’d even kissed!
“I’d love you— to! I’d love to,” she corrected, still so overcome by the kiss that she didn’t feel the usual rush of embarrassment from mixing up her words in front of Adrien. “Any specific time? Oh, and I can bring pastries,” she offered quickly. “Chouquettes, or whatever you’d like.”
Adrien smiled, a crooked, imperfect expression that would never make it into the magazines. It found its place in Ladybug’s heart, instead.
“Any kind of pastry would be amazing,” he gushed. “I feel like I can never get enough, especially when it’s from the Dupain-Cheng bakery! As for the time, around dusk is usually when my duties end. But if I can finish early, I could send you a signal? If you have a favorite song, I could play that when I’m ready for you.”
Ladybug smiled broadly. “Absolutely, that works! Uh, I don’t know the title, but I always liked the song you tend to play last after practice? You hum along sometimes and I think it’s adorable,” she said, watching a light blush return to Adrien’s cheeks.
“Oh, that one! My maman and I made it up,” he explained. “We call it the golden song, because we invented it in the evening, and there was sunlight streaming through the room from the window. Like it was when your visit began.”
Ladybug’s stomach twisted nervously. “Oh, sorry! I didn’t realize it was so personal for you.”
Adrien smiled gently. “It is, and it isn’t. Half the reason we made it up was to send a nice song to my soulmate. I used to want to write a million songs for you, but I’m not very good at it, so Maman wound up writing most of the song. I know it by muscle memory, now.”
“Oh,” Ladybug gasped. A warm feeling spread through her chest at the thought of little Adrien writing a song for her with his mother. “Well, it’s beautiful!”
“I’m glad you think so,” Adrien responded. “We can think of it as her gift to us. I think it’s the perfect song to use as our signal.”
Ladybug nodded, smiling back at Adrien. “So, I’ll see you tomorrow, then?”
His smile broadened. “See you tomorrow… soulmate.”
Ladybug stood up to leave, and Adrien followed her to the window.
“Before you go, Ladybug, I was wondering. Would you give me another kiss, for a goodbye?”
Ladybug smirked. “A bit clingy, I see. But I don’t mind,” she said, stepping closer to him.
Before she could lose her nerve, she leaned up to give him a kiss, aiming for the corner of his mouth. He turned his head to catch it full on his lips and smiled, almost dopily, as she pulled away.
“Goodbye, Ladybug. Thank you for dropping by,” he said with a twinkle in his eye. “I’ll miss you while you’re gone.”
“Then I’ll make sure not to be late tomorrow,” she said, offering Adrien a smile as she turned back to the window. “I’ll miss you, too, Adrien. But as long as we’re connected, just play me a song and I’ll know you’re thinking of me. And I’ll think of you, too.”
With a last fond look and a nod, she flung out her yo-yo, swinging away from Adrien’s window into the darkening city. But even though she was left alone in the silence, her heart was warm and full of song.
Adrien Agreste was her soulmate. And he’d agreed to date her! They already had a special song, and to make things even better, she’d get to see him again the next day. How could things get any better?
Ladybug landed on her balcony and detransformed, smiling as she got ready for bed. And when a piano song filled her ears as she settled in bed, she smiled and hummed along to her soulmate’s music, dreaming of a thousand tomorrows.

what's the most unhinged thing each venus member did in public during their idol schedule (like concert, variety show, interview, ect)???
VENUS has had a lot, and I mean A LOT, of public unhinged moments. That's what makes them so lovable! Here are some unhinged moments from the girls!
"Can I sleep with you?" During the reality show "House of Angels: Angelico's Family Reunion." Yoonah would shock viewers by going into Finn's room and asking if she could sleep with him, cameras rolling without a damn. Listen, this show had a lot of moments like this. It was even dubbed as "Kpop's Jersey Shore." with fans still asking for a season two nearly three years after the first season's premiere.
From the point of view of a fly on the wall, the camera overseeing the living room, Yoonah sits by herself on the large beige leather couch, pouting with a dazed look in her eyes. She's had one too many bottles of peach soju, and it's clear when she stands up that she sways as if she's on a ship. This makes her cover her mouth as she giggles, rushing down the hallway where the bedrooms are.
"I have so many options," Yoonah whispers to the camera, now clearly that of a camera crew. She taps her nail against a closed door, narrowing her eyes. "This is Aiden's room...I'm not his type," Yoonah tells the camera with a snort before scurrying like a mouse in the night to the next door. She does a dramatic hand movement in front of the nameplate that reads "ELLIOT!!" clearly written by Elliot himself by how scribbly the handwriting is.
"Now, Elliot is nice—Does this sound like ASMR?" Yoonah asks, starting in a whisper then speaking in full volume with a small chuckle as she looks off camera at the crew behind the camera with an adorable raise of her brows, making an excited sound when the mic operator confirms she does sound like she's running an ASMR channel.
"Elliot is nice, but," Yoonah begins explaining in a whisper again, leaning herself against the door. I have been told he kicks a lot, and why would I want that when I'm sleeping? Ladies, never settle for a man who kicks you in your sleep. Kick him back." Yoonah looks very seriously at the camera when she says this, her hands forming fists as she does so, even playfully punching at the camera before motioning it to follow her through the hallway.
When she finds Finn's room, she barges in quietly but walks into the room like it's hers. When she steps into Finn's room, the camera changes to a night vision camera in the ceiling corner, like a fly on the wall. Finn groggily pushes himself up when the door opens, Yoonah's small stature being a shadow due to the hallway light behind her. Finn rubs his eyes with a soft grunt.
"Can I sleep with you?" Yoonah asks in a whisper. Finn rubs his eyes again, taking a deep breath through his nose.
"We're on camera," Finn reminds her, his voice still waking up and sounding deep and groggy. Yoonah shrugs, walking towards his bed anyway, sitting on the edge of his bed.
"Who cares?" Yoonah muses. She and Finn stare at each other for a minute, both of them blinking at one another for the entire staredown before Finn finally shrugs. He reaches over, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her down to the bed. Yoonah giggled as he did so, wrapping her arms around his head to hold him against her chest.
"Oh my god, who fucking cares? Like, seriously. No one." Chloe often isn't allowed to have solo lives for a reason. This is one of the reasons. After the notorious music show win against their senior group, Priority, Chloe would make her feelings on the matter known.
Chloe takes a bite of her salad, watching the chat with a disinterested look before looking back at her salad, stabbing the kale dramatically. She's in her studio, surrounded by pink fur walls and a comfortable pink desk chair, spinning side to side nonchalantly.
"All the comments are talking about Priority," Chloe deadpans, shaking her head slowly with a grunt. "It's just like...Who cares, you know? It's a music show." Chloe wants to drop the topic, it's clear by how uninterested her tone is. Still, the comments keep going, making her sigh loudly, brows raised in annoyance.
Chloe doesn't check the comments for a minute, only silently eating her salad and staring in the camera before finally glancing at the comments again. The second her eyes catch the word "Priority" she groans dramatically, slapping her hand down on the table, making the camera shake.
"Oh my god, who fucking cares? Like, seriously. No one fucking cares," Chloe tells the camera in English, her New York accent shining through because of her annoyance. "It's not even your trophy to win, like, maybe if they had a good song, they would've won but-" She shrugs aggressively before taking another bite of her salad, chewing harshly.
Chloe waves her hand in front of the camera, grabbing the phone, chuckling as she chews. "How do I block words? Constellations, help," Chloe laughs, only the top of her head and eyes visible as she tries not to laugh anymore but fails. She giggles, leaving her lips as the phone shakes.
"Enough of this. I can't do this anymore. Hold on." Her giggles are abruptly cut off by a dimmed screen reading: The Live Has Ended.
She didn't really say anything but more so wore something. In 2021, Sena would be spotted walking side by side with Son Jinhwa, wearing a "I HATE MY BOSS" T-shirt with a big smile on her face as she greeted the cameras, smiling and waving while Jinhwa held her coffee.
Shot from a shaky iPhone, Sena rushes over to the small crowd of people outside of the Angelico building, greeting them with an excited smile on her face as the group of people tell Sena how grateful they are to see her.
"It's always great to see you guys," Sena coos, smiling at her fans as she instantly begins signing autographs and taking photos.
"Unnie! I love your shirt!" One fan tells her, causing Sena's face to light up, lifting her head with a beaming smile and putting her hand over her heart.
"Do you really? I made it myself!" Sena gushes, stepping back to do a small twirl before holding out the fabric so they can see the shirt better. The camera catches Jinhwa watching Sena with an amused smile before he looks away.
"Were you raised in a barn?!"
Jiah, clearly jet-lagged, is wearing sunglasses and a casual pair of sweatpants as their bodyguard tries to get the crowd to dispurse to no avail. The youngest sighs, running a hand through her black hair in annoyance. The other girls look annoyed too but are too tired to say anything, just standing in the crowd with their arms crossed and heads down.
A fansite trying to get a better shot of Chloe, knocks her camera into Jiah's head accidentally but Jiah doesn't care if it's an accident. Jiah swings her purse at the fansite, causing the big camera to slam into the fansite's face before clattering to the ground.
"Were you raised in a barn?!" Jiah shouts as she's pulled back abruptly by the bodyguard, who is separating her from the fansite. Chloe covers her mouth in shock but is clearly laughing while Sena and Yoonah watch in jaw-dropped shock as the crowd erupts in shouts and loud chatter.
The girls are quickly ushered out of the airport. After that, Jiah is lifted up by the bodyguard and carried out, resulting in one of many viral videos from that day.
