Max’s Personality in Double Exposure

Unpopular opinion (I think): I actually really enjoyed how DeckNine wrote Max’s character/personality in Double Exposure. She’s still our awkward little nerd just grown up and more confident. One of the main complaints I’ve been seeing is that Max acts like a h*rny teenager because of how she interacts with Vinh and Amanda, which I can kinda see where they’re coming from, but I feel like they’re not looking at the bigger picture. Max was very introverted as a teenager. We know for a fact she had a hard time socializing and making friends during her time at Blackwell. It’s referenced multiple times in LIS 1. While her peers were most likely out partying, drinking, hook!ng up with people, doing dr*gs, etc. Max was holed up in her dorm or taking photos.

Flash forward a decade, Max is older, she spent most of her young adult years traveling the country. She’s had a lot of experience with life and people at this point. She’s coming out of her shell. In Double Exposure we see her actually hanging out with friends, going out for drinks at the bar, and even flirting with people. Normal stuff people in their 20s do. If the woman wants to make some dirty jokes, let her! She didn’t get the chance to do it in her teen years. Sometimes people compensate for experiences they didn’t get when they were young later on in life, especially if they used to be introverted, and that’s okay.

Also Max was cussing in every other sentence in LIS 1 and no one had an issue with it.

TL:DR: Max isn’t an 18 year old kid anymore, let the woman live her life and have fun.
