Really been vibing their latest releases to for this week’s Australian artist I’ve gone back to Client Liaison’s debut album Diplomatic Immunity, and god DAMN does it still slap. If you’ve been following this account for a while you’d know I mostly lean away from electronic/dance genres, but happily making an exception here because the energy doesn’t stop bouncing at any point, and the use of the electronic soundscape is creative without being self indulgent or showy. Apparently there is a new album in the pipeline, so I’m keen to see what comes next. Highlight tracks include A Foreign Affair (ft Tina Arena), Off White Limousine, Home, and Electric Eyes. Available on iTunes and Spotify. Headliner für das Oben Festival!

Turbostaat sind entspannter als ihre Punkmusik vermuten lässt. Copright Andreas Hornoff Indie, Pop, Elektronik, Hip Hop, Rock und Techno. Das Oben Festival möchte für alle etwas bieten. Und der Erfolg gibt dem Konzept recht – das Tages-Festival findet dieses Jahr schon das dritte Mal statt. Nun sind die Headliner für das Oben Festival bekannt. Insgesamt wird es drei Bühnen geben: Die große Zeltbühne für die Hauptacts, ein Zirkuszelt für Djs und Live-Acts und eine kleine Bühne für lokale Künstler, die das Festival fördern möchte. Dazu wird es ein vielfältiges Rahmenprogramm mit Artisten, handgemachter Deko und einem Saunawagen geben. Verschiedene Essständen werden regionale und internationale Gerichte anbieten. Das Oben-Festival soll somit nicht nur eine Musikveranstaltung sein, sondern ein Rundumerlebnis für jedermann. Hier einige der Highlights des Oben-Festivals.

Wer kommt?

Blond Eigentlich ein Farbton, aber auch eine Band. Die beiden Blondinen Nina und Lotta Kummer haben mit ihrem blinden Kindergartenfreund Johann Bonitz eine Band gegründet. Moment mal, Kummer – klingelts? Genau, die Sängerinnen sind die Schwestern von Felix und Till Brummer, die bei Kraftklub spielen. Mit denen waren sind sie gerade erfolgreich auf Tour. Im Sommer wollen sie als Blond mit ihrem Indie-Rock, den sie selbst als „Las Vegas Glamour“ beschreiben, die Festivalbühnen der Nation erobern. Ahzumjot Die Musik von Ahzumjot ist vor allem eines: einzigartig. Der 27 Jahre junge Rapper pfeifft auf Gernreklischees und hat sich seinen eigenen Rapstil entwickelt, mit dem er immer bekannter wird. Dabei hilft ihm auch seine Bühnenerfahrung: Ahzumjot war schon auf Tour mit Cro, Rockstah und Casper. Auf dem neuen Album des Letzteren ist er auch mit einem Feature vertreten. Bei der Auswahl seiner Themen will Ahzumjot sich nicht beschränken lassen: er macht einfach, worauf er Lust hat. Co-Headliner Turbostaat Mit Turbostaat holt das Oben Festival waschechten norddeutschen Punk nach Kassel. Ihr letztes Album „Abalonia“ wurde von Kritkern und Fans gefeiert. Vor allem für ihre raue Art, Geschichten in ihren Liedern zu erzählen und gleichzeitig zu Kritik anzubringen, wurde die Band gelobt. Die Flensburger Musiker werden dieses jedoch Jahr nur wenige Konzerte spielen, um in Ruhe an ihrem Album arbeiten zu können. Das Oben Festival bietet also dieses Jahr eine der wenigen Chancen, die fest in der Punk-Szene verwurzelten Rocker live zu erleben. Headliner Fünf Sterne Deluxe Die vierköpfige Hip-Hop Gruppe um Das Bo und Tobi Tobsen ist zurück! Seit 1997 schon rappen sich die beiden durch die Deutschland. Unterstützt werden sie von Dj Coolman und marcnesium, der für die Effekte verantwortlich ist. Bekannt sind Fünf Sterne Deluxe vor allem für ihr 1998 erschienenes Album „Sillium“ mit dem Song „Dein Herz schlägt schneller“. 2000 folgte das Album „Neo.Now“, danach eine längere Pause. Eine Pause von 17 Jahren genauer gesagt, denn erst 2017 veröffentlichten sie ihr nächstes Album „Flash“, das er direkt auf Platz 11 in den Charts geschafft hat. Damit kommen sie zum Oben Festival erstmals nach Baunatal.   Wer kommt noch? Nothing better than spending the night under the roof of @thetivolibrisbane with a room full of strangers and @clientliaison belting out a truly #classic / #memorable setlist.
