hc that during the Minyard Josten rivalry, Andrew called Neil a "speedy fucking asshole" during a post game interview

During games, the opposite team's fans would chant "Asshole, asshole, speedy fucking asshole" everytime Neil had the ball to throw him off his game.

By the end of the season, Neil gave an interview saying "Oh, I thought they were cheering for me. Was I supposed to be offended? Do better."

And thats how Neil's fans adopted the chant and now they sing it every game he plays. Losing only for the classic, "run fast, faster, even fuckin' faster Josten is out, he's goin' to get ya"

So. Ive been kind of turning this au around in my head like a rotisserie chicken bc i obviously want to keep as many details as possible consistent with canon, but also that is kind of impossible given the massive leaps in technology between mouthwashing’s distant future and. Well. 1917. So what happens is that i figure their platoon is being court-martial’d for something (maybe cowardice/refusal to follow orders? For getting stuck up in the mountain bunker?) and Jimmy suggests blowing up the bunker theyre in so that they would have solid evidence that it wasnt their fault. Curly, still reeling, agrees, not thinking it would go anywhere, but Jimmy nabs the explosives from swansea and goes through with it anyways.

Jimmy, in this au, was aware that Anya is trans before they were even stationed together, and becomes aware that Curly may be an invert (which, historically, means that he is not only queer, but adopts the ‘woman’s role’. This phenomena of inverts being treated more harshly than their more ‘manly’ counterparts is supported by history! Fun fact) while on the Ypres frontline. He is resentful towards Curly because how can a supposed invert, someone whom he has been taught is less than half of the man Jimmy himself is, be such a well-loved leader and well-rounded man? Why is Jimmy so drawn to him? Why does he still respect and even love this ‘man’? What does that say about his own masculinity?

The cognitive dissonance is too much for his weak, spiteful, hateful little pea brain and he feels like he is losing what little control he had over his own masculinity and understanding of the social world to begin with. This leads him to assault anya and, added with the stress of a court-martial, blow the bunker up.

I figure they give Curly what little chloroform they have in the medical kit to keep him asleep until they run out/it starts making him too sick and are forced to start giving him soothing syrup and gin in large doses. Anya and Curly had something of a mutual understanding/budding friendship before the incident, both having had a sense about the other, which makes Curly’s subsequent inaction suck all the more. He understands Anya better than anyone else there, so why didnt he do anything? Anya doesn’t understand, and she never gets to ask. She still takes extreme care in tending his wounds though, and will often go to his bedside and tell him stories/play cards with him (and by that i mean play cards by herself and narrate her strat)

I also figure the whole thing happens over a matter of days as opposed to months because. You know. 1917. But anyways. If anyone wants to talk about this w me/add on to it, any musings are more than welcome!! I love queer and ww1 history :) see tags for more tidbits❤️

So, it looks like someone beat me to getting all the songs remade in Heaven Studio XP, but I still think it's cool to see someone else's take on it~ (The thumbnail art goes so hard~)

And with Heaven Studio sniped off the web, and thus probably putting a halt on updates for the foreseeable future, I probably won't be finishing my mixes anytime soon since they depended on games that weren't implemented yet.

So, if I ever want to finish my own project, I'm probably gonna have to suck it up and swap out more of the games.

*sigh* Vs. 1010 just isn't gonna be the same without Freeze Frame...

sorry, but I love the "set entirely within Lumiose city" announcement. That only increased the hype for me. I love a good, fleshed-out city to wander in. But mostly, to me, that indicates a change in the usual formula, which is really intriguing. Yeah, there's the question of where we'll get wild pokemon - which then raises the question of whether that even will be the same old mechanic we're used to. Or will something else be going on this game? Without a region to fill, how in-depth in the city can they get and what will we be doing?

Everytime I go back to M26 scenes I feel like I find something new to eat.

Conan thought ai chan was suffering from decompression sickness and rushed to give her CPR. But if you think about it, CPR doesn't really help decompression sickness. Simply breathing into someone only gets air into their system. It doesn't help get rid of the nitrogen bubbles inside the person.

So why was Conan's first reaction was to perform CPR?

Because he might be desperate. He doesn't know if he can get help immediately; he only just resurfaced and broke the huge wave, I bet he doesn't even have his phone on his person and would it work after a dive in the ocean? Does he know where he is exactly? On which part of the Pacific bouy? He can't count on his surroundings well, and he has no diving tools on himself. Also a personal guess but he probably can't just do nothing by ai chan's side either, her unresponsiveness is going to drive him insane. So the only thing he can do at that moment, because it's also on his mind perhaps (I mean it only just happened a few moments ago too) is to give CPR.

Now for someone as rational as Conan, the sweet point isn't whether their lips touched or not, it's the fact that Conan didn't even stop to check ai chan's symptoms. He didn't check her breathing, her pulse, anything, he just immediately grabbed her head and moved in to perform CPR. You can see at this point how he really can't let anything bad happen, much less lose her (cue the edogawa rampo [江户川乱步] scene where he stumbles on the way around the hotel corridor right after ai chan's kidnapping, how he yelled at Sato and gripped his knees with shaky hands, etc)

They're so real and for what.

can we take a moment to talk about how fucking incredible it is that jojo has now won sands of time four times in a row? in the past people have won sot 3 consecutive times, but jojo managing to do it 4 times, including 3 events in a row, in an era where mcc is extremely competitive and sands of time is one of the most vod reviewed games, is honestly pretty nuts. jojo's ability to work with her teammates, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and make sure they're all on the same page going into the event (and especially this game) is just so great because she genuinely cares about bringing out the best in her teammates and it's why her teams continue to do so well in sot. not to mention she herself is just an incredibly thorough runner - it's due to her fully exploring the red path and finding the green key that green30 was able to become the first team to successfully collect all 4 vaults. her playstyle is always calm, collected and cooperative, never frenetic and risky, which helps her teammates have a great experience in sot too (michael literally said this is the best sands of time he's ever played). her team collecting all 4 vaults on her 4th sot win in a row - like that's just insane to me and if that doesn't make her the best sot player, i don't know what else she can do
