Maquiagens seguras para a pele atópica

O cuidado com a pele atópica, sensível e alérgica também passa pelas maquiagens. São poucas as opções 100% seguras disponíveis no mercado. Muitos produtos contam com perfume na composição, vários outros com filtros solares químicos, ainda outros com óleos e/ou ingredientes que desencadeiam a dermatite.

Depois de muitas pesquisas, encontrei produtos que não causam qualquer reação indesejada, além de serem excelentes como maquiagem - ótima textura, ótima cobertura, ótima fixação.

Irei listá-los abaixo!

Base em pó

A base em pó Mineral do Boticário é perfeita para a pele atópica e sensível. Tem quem pense que se trata de somente de um pó facial. Mas é uma base mesmo, com uma fórmula 100% segura, excelente cobertura e proteção solar mineral (FPS 25) com Dióxido de Titânio. (Em posts anteriores mencionei que a proteção solar mineral é feita com Dióxido de Titânio e Óxido de Zinco. Mas, existe um bom motivo para o Óxido de Zinco não estar presente aqui: ele é altamente nocivo para os pulmões caso seja aspirado pelo nariz. Por isso, você nunca irá encontrá-lo em produtos que tenham a apresentação em pó solto, mas somente em versões em pó compacto ou cremosas/líquidas, onde não se corre o risco de tê-lo suspenso no ar!)

A versão antiga dessa base vinha com um aplicador embutido, mas a embalagem acaba de ganhar um visual mais moderno e o pincel deixou de acompanhar o produto. Ainda assim, sugiro que a aplicação seja feita com um pincel kabuki, como o da foto: com as cerdas retas e firmes :)

Costumo primeiro depositar o pó no rosto, com pinceladas em diferentes áreas - bochechas, queixo, testa - e, depois, espalhá-lo com movimentos circulares. A pele fica uma porcelana, acredito que você também irá adorar!

Ao final, ainda borrifo água mineral Evian por todo o rosto para selar a aplicação e deixar a make com uma aparência mais natural.

Uma dica para que a base fique com uma aparência bonita e uniforme: antes de aplicá-la, hidrate bem a sua pele com seu cosmético favorito, pois, como trata-se de um pó solto, pode acabar ressaltando áreas ressecadas do rosto.

Ao hidratar a pele, você deve aguardar que o creme/sérum seja completamente absorvido antes de iniciar a aplicação da base, pois, caso ainda esteja úmida, é possível que o pó se acumule nessas regiões, não trazendo um bom resultado.

Base líquida

Antes de mais nada, gostaria de dizer que gosto muito dos produtos da MAC. Não só porque eles são maravilhosos (haha) mas porque nenhum dos produtos da marca contém perfume. Então, já de início, a pesquisa torna-se mais fácil.

Estas bases líquidas da foto contam com fórmulas 100% seguras para a pele atópica e sensível. E, como tenho alergia a protetores solares químicos, aviso que nenhuma delas conta com FPS! Confira informações e a composição de cada uma delas:

1) Base Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof - MAC

É resistente à água, tem longa duração, contém ativos hidratantes (conta com Vitamina E e Ácido Hialurônico!) e é livre de óleos.

2) Base Infallible Pro-Matte - L'Óréal*

É igualmente de longa duração, tem a textura leve e excelente cobertura. O efeito é semi-mate, ou seja, pele sem brilho mas com aspecto natural!

3) Base Stay Matte Oil-Free - Clinique

Essa base é bastante interessante porque conta com um ativo antioleosidade natural e muito mais suave do que ácido salícílico: o extrato da casca do salgueiro branco (Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract). Além disso, conta com extrato de Aloe Vera, Vitamina E e Ácido Hialurônico, oferecendo um verdadeiro tratamento de pele na própria maquiagem.

Corretivo

2 corretivos da Tracta com fórmulas seguras e que gosto muito para camuflar manchinhas no rosto: a versão Stick e a versão líquida Matte.

Seguem as composições:

1) Corretivo Stick - Tracta

Confesso que nenhum dos dois é excelente para olheiras: o stick não tem uma cobertura muito eficiente enquanto o líquido deixa a região ressecada, ressaltando demais as linhas das áreas dos olhos. Em uma pesquisa por outros produtos, encontrei estes, da Smashbox - Studio Skin Flawless - e da Dior - Skin Correct -, com fórmulas 100% seguras. Ambos podem ser encontrados na Sephora. Mas, como nunca os experimentei, não vou fazer exatamente uma indicação!

Pó Compacto

Enquanto o pó Ultra Matte (Soul), da Eudora, tem uma cobertura suave e aveludada, o Blot Powder, da MAC, tem a função exclusiva de finalizar a maquiagem e remover o excesso de brilho, não tendo uma cobertura aparente.

Blush

O blush foi o produto mais fácil de encontrar. Porque antes de saber que ele tem a fórmula 100% segura, eu já o usava e gostava muito. É o blush compacto da MAC. Minha cor favorita é esta da foto, Format, que além de blush também funciona como bronzer.

Iluminador

Para iluminar o rosto, igualmente sugiro um blush da MAC, mas com outra textura (já que o Format tem efeito mate!). Esse da foto, Sunbasque, é conhecido como um dos preferidos da Gisele Bündchen :) Tem um efeito de pele saudável, dourada pelo sol.

Sombra

A escolha da sombra, assim como de todos os produtos para a área dos olhos, é muito importante. Isso porque é muito fácil ocorrer irritações nessa região da pele, que é tão delicada.

Por muitos anos, não conseguia identificar o que me causava inchaços repentinos nas pálpebras. Depois que fiz testes de alergia, deixei de usar produtos que contém perfume. Percebi que, com essa mudança, nunca mais tive o problema. O inchaço na região dos olhos pode nos deixar, inclusive, com uma aparência cansada e envelhecida. E, seguramente, não é isso que buscamos ao fazer uma make, seja para o dia-a-dia, seja para a noite :)

E, por querer evitar perfumes, aqui sugiro novamente um produto da MAC. A princípio, essa paleta tem o valor elevado. Agora, em 2021, está custando R$ 169. Mas, se considerarmos que estamos comprando 9 sombras de altíssima qualidade - e que o valor de cada uma delas sai por menos de R$ 20, aposto que você, assim como eu, não vai querer escolher outra opção. Além do mais, posso assegurar: dura por anos e vai valer cada centavo :)

Essa da foto é a minha combinação de cores favorita, o nome da paleta é Semi Sweet Times Nine. Todas com efeito mate. Ótimas para o dia e para a noite :)

Delineador

Durante anos, meu olho lacrimejava muito. Até que descobri que isso só ocorria porque eu usava algumas opções de lápis e delineador que eram bastante irritantes para a minha pele. Bastou que eu acertasse na escolha dos produtos para que esse problema desaparecesse de vez. E para que as minhas maquiagens tivessem uma fixação muito melhor :)

Seguem os produtos que mais gosto para delinear os olhos:

1) Revlon ColorStay Black - Lápis Retrátil

Tem uma excelente fixação e ótima pigmentação. Às vezes utilizo como lápis, às vezes como delineador. E, quando uso delineador "de verdade", seja líquido ou gel, passo esse lápis antes para um efeito bem uniforme!

O Skincarisma acusa a Cera de Candelila como desencadeador do fungo Malassezia, responsável pelo surgimento de irritações de dermatite atópica. De qualquer forma, como uso o produto apenas em uma região muito pequena do rosto - e depois de anos usando nunca tive qualquer problema - então para mim está tudo ok! (Não usaria um produto contendo esta cera, por exemplo, em todo o rosto ou em um hidratante corporal!)

2) Delineador Líquido Tracta Super Black

Durante um bom tempo tinha desistido de delineadores líquidos por diversos motivos: alguns não eram muito pretos, a versão em caneta acabava secando a ponta, eram difíceis de aplicar. Há poucos meses encontrei essa opção da Tracta e amei. Tem uma pigmentação maravilhosa, um pincel super fininho, é muito fácil de aplicar e dura o dia todo! Super recomendo :)

Nesta fórmula, o Skincarisma acusa 2 ingredientes que podem desencadear a dermatite. Mas, como citei anteriormente, uso em uma região pequena do rosto, além de, com o uso, não ter notado nenhum tipo de irritação ou alergia.

3) Delineador em gel Fluidline Pro Longwear, MAC

Para usar esse produto, você irá precisar de um pincel chanfrado (com corte na diagonal) bem fininho e com as cerdas bem firmes! Depois de pegar um pouco de prática, aposto que você, assim como eu, vai adorá-lo. Tem uma pigmentação excelente (já usei o preto e o marrom escuro), duração super prolongada e um efeito mais suave na make do que o delineador líquido. Muito bom para o dia-a-dia!

Máscara de cílios

A escolha da máscara de cílios é mais baseada em comprar & testar, pois é muito raro que alguma desencadeie qualquer tipo de irritação. Sendo assim, já utilizei várias, não tendo uma especificamente favorita para indicar :)

De qualquer forma, caso seus olhos comecem a apresentar coceira, ardência ou qualquer tipo de irritação após o uso de algum produto, sugiro que suspenda o uso!

Batom

Para a minha surpresa, depois de muitos testes percebi que o batom é uma exceção muito positiva na escolha dos meus cosméticos, sendo infinitamente mais fácil de encontrar opções: noto que mesmo que tenha óleos, cera, até mesmo FPS (desde que não seja, claro, um protetor labial, com uma concentração enorme de protetor solar químico), consigo usá-los sem qualquer problema.

A única regra para o batom é que ele não contenha perfume. O perfume é realmente nocivo para mim em cosméticos, podendo causar, às vezes, até irritação na garganta e/ou rinite alérgica (além do mais, quem precisa de perfume no batom?)

Sendo assim, acho desnecessário postar sugestões, já que são inúmeras as possibilidades! :)

Para pesquisar outros produtos de maquiagem, sugiro que use o site Skincarisma: a aba "Cosmetic Analyzer" analisa qualquer fórmula, desde que tenha os ingredientes listados com nomes científicos e estejam separados por vírgulas.

Muitas vezes os sites de lojas - e até mesmo os sites de marcas no Brasil - não fornecem a lista de ingredientes dos produtos. Caso você queira pesquisar produtos de marcas internacionais, sugiro que procure a composição de cada um no site do país original da marca :)

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush is So So Good. Here’s Why You Need It.

I’ve been meaning to write this post for some time as I actually grabbed the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush quite a while back and… Spoiler alert: they’re some of my very favourite blushes, ever.

I’ve heard from so many people that blush is not an essential part of their makeup routine. I couldn’t be more opposite. Blush is a totally essential part of my makeup routine – especially if I am wearing foundation.

I personally find that when I am wearing a foundation that blush is 100% needed to bring my skin back to life, and to make my face look less “flat” toned – you know what I mean?

Water Colour Blush Shades:

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Flush:

Flush is a beautiful deep matte pink shade. It’s noted online as being best suited for medium to dark skin tones, but I actually think it’s very wearable on fair skin tones, too.

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Passion:

This blush is described online as a subtle coral shade with silver highlights that best suits medium skin tones. I actually don’t completely agree with this colour summary.

I would say it’s quite a bright coral, and I honestly haven’t noted a strong silver highlight to it. This blush is quite glowy, and it definitely has a sheen to it, but I haven’t really thought of it as silver-toned at all.

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Glow:

This shade was actually curated by Katie from Beauty and the Boutique and Daniel Sandler. It’s a mixture of a blush and bronzer tone to give a really beautiful bronzy flush to your cheeks.

It has a really beautiful golden sheen to it that really makes your skin look so beautifully glowy.

Why Do I LOVE The Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush So Much?

I have quite dry-prone skin and because of that, I tend to gravitate towards cream or liquid products. Cream and liquid formula products are typically more moisturizing and forgiving to dry skin, and so typically, I find they work best for my skin type.

However, there have been plenty of occasions where I’ve gone too far with cream products and my skin looks oily/greasy. Sometimes all those cream products layered onto one another (think foundation, concealer, then bronzer and blush) just look a little too slick and heavy.

The Daniel Sandler Liquid Blushes are a liquid, but because they are so thin in texture, they do not add any creamy texture to the skin. They are extremely lightweight and really look just like your skin when you apply them. They work great just on your natural skin as well as over foundation.

This formula is unlike any blush formula I’ve ever tried and I absolutely love it.

How to Apply the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush?

The Watercolour Blush does separate after use, so you’re going to want to shake it up well before using it.

Next, you’ll want to squeeze a drop or two out either onto the back of your hand or onto your fingertips. Then apply it to your cheeks and blend out using your fingertips.

If you don’t want to use your hands to blend the blush out, then first apply the blush to your cheeks and blend it with a brush.

I do not recommend you apply this product to a brush or sponge to apply it. They will just absorb the blush.

Applied Over Foundation Vs. Bare Skin

This blush can be worn over foundation or just on bare skin. On top of foundation, I’ve found that the blush will apply more pigmented.

As on bare skin, it will blend out more and just appear as a very natural and subtle flush.

Are they available in Canada?

Kind of.

The lipstick comes in slightly heavy magnetic packaging.

The lipstick contains 3.2 grams (0.11 oz) and has a mix of a vanilla/mango flavor/scent.

The lipstick spreads out smoothly and has a very vibrant color payoff.

The lipstick is very moisturizing and is more vibrant if you don't over-moisturize your lips. It can look more like a tinted balm if layered over a lot of lip balm.

Recommended use is to moisturize lips as preferred, use a lip liner as well if preferred and apply the lipstick starting at the center of the upper lip and move outward toward one corner and go from there. After using, this lipstick is gorgeous in my opinion, the application process is easy and smooth and it's very nice for people who like more moisturizing formulas or people who need more moisture in their lip products. There is a fragrance/scent/flavor that is pretty subtle and not unpleasant. It's very unique compared to a lot of lipsticks that have a more vanilla scent to them. The color is very vibrant and if you dry your lips well before applying the color, it's brighter, if you use a lot of lip balm it really makes the color lighter. The color lasts a pretty long time and even leaves a bit of a stain as it wears down. I think this color is very flattering for many skin tones and it's not super dramatic if you're not into strongly pigmented lip color. On top of that, the packaging is really nice and heavy, it doesn't feel cheap and it's magnetized which is a nice touch. I'd recommend this to anyone, especially people who like more moisturizing lipsticks as well to people who prefer rosy colors.

What I like: this lipstick is very moisturizing and has a beautiful payoff. The pigment is very even and it's as elegant as it claims. There is a very light, unique mango and vanilla scent and has nice quality packaging with a magnetic cap. The lipstick also wears off nicely and leaves a nice stain. The ingredients are nourishing and ideal for lip health. What I don't like: nothing really, it is a little hard to find to purchase but otherwise a great product.

Let’s take a closer look at the most classic tsum tsum lipsmackers out - Micky and Minnie

Looks: They are both super adorable, just like all the other tsum tsums, I will admit I kinda find it weird that they don’t have mouths, but still totally cute.

Scent: Micky is marshmallow pop scented [which I take to mean marshmallow lollipop], I’ll admit you can get a little bit of marshmallow scent off him, overall he smells really sweet - like the scent of marshmallow on top of something, which makes sense if it’s a lollipop made to mimic a marshmallow smell/taste [DON’T EAT THIS]. And I can’t tell if the plastic around the lip balm is affecting the scent or if it’s just a little weird because of the smell it’s going for or what.

Minnie is strawberry lollipop, which would make sense as a matching scent theme of lollipops for the little couple. It’s a perfect rendition of delicious fake strawberry smell that comes with every strawberry hard candy ever.So they did a bang up job there, the smell is exactly what it said it would be. I love it, but then again I love strawberries, so I’m biased.

Color: Because Micky was marshmallows I kind of expected it to be more white than the eggshell it actually is.

I actually expected Minnie to be a much brighter, more vibrant red, like you’d see on lollipops so I was a little surprised by the soft color. Then I thought, well they’re mixing these colors into what is probably a sort of white-ish [probably eggshell color] beeswax, which dilutes the color and then we get this. So logically it makes sense that it’s a softer red.

Application: So far both are really easy to apply, all of them are easy to apply when they’re brand new. I haven’t gotten one down to the nub to see if it becomes more difficult later on.

There is an occasional need to put more on if you’ve gone several hours or have had some food and stuff.

I don’t suffer any irritation from the product, still you should always read the ingredients before buying something.

How to Use

Apply directly to lips. For subtle definition outline lips first, then fill in with natural-looking colour. Never needs sharpening: simply swivel up to reveal more lip colour balm.

My Thoughts:

I’ve had great results with various products from Clinique, so when I saw this product on sale, I knew it would be worth it. Occasionally, I will browse, out of boredom, on Sephora just to see what products go on sale, and every now and then, get suckered into buying a product because of FOMO. Marketing tactics make us anxious to get a product out of fear that it’ll never be available again, so we need to get it now. Well, that tactic worked with this product, but I didn’t end up feeling cheated or manipulated like some products leave me.

I’m not sure why Clinique wanted to partner with Crayola, maybe it was just to sell the nostalgia, but the product is the same as their regular colors, just with Crayola trademarked color names. What does that mean for me and everyone else that caught this on sale? Score. That means I got a high-quality product that I know is going to work well for me, without having to pay even half of the price of the traditional colors in their line, all because of some words on the label. What I think that they’re marketing team didn’t take into consideration was that consumers would love the nostalgia behind this, but most grown adults don’t want to look like they’re using over-sized crayons on their face, especially when in public or in a situation that requires formality and high professionalism.

Here comes the double-edged sword: I agree and disagree with those negative reviews online. While I do respect someone wanting to look their best, especially in a situation where they’re wanting to be taken as a serious, business professional, that shouldn’t mean you deprive yourself of something you know will bring you joy, from the nostalgia and from the quality of product behind the packaging. A simple fix to that complaint would be to have a designated lip product that makes you feel empowered and confident for those impactful moments, and use this when you’re at home or just enjoying a casual day. Personally, I almost never use this alone, I like to use this as a preparatory step in my makeup routine to keep my lips moisturized while I do my makeup and I can achieve an easy lip application at the end. One of the things I’ve respected most and love about Clinique is they prioritize skincare, and makeup comes in second, so I feel confident that regardless how this product ends up looking, that my skin is in good hands. Even if I wanted to return this product because the pigment wasn’t as strong as I wanted it to be, I wouldn’t have to worry about having a breakout or other skin reaction because of their track record and integrity to uphold skincare before anything else.

Performance/Wear: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5

This is a winner, all-around, for me. There isn’t a single issue I have with this product. The application is easy and quick, and there’s no drag that causes tugging of the skin. This is one of their more-pigmented colors, but it is still flattering for many looks and all complexions. I get the immediate gratification from the mango and shea butter benefits as the first application intensely moisturizes my lips, and I can feel the light weight of the conditioning layer on top of my lips, assuring continuous moisture during its wear. Another benefit of this being a tinted balm is you get the best of color added to your lips, without the worries of some lipstick or lipgloss formulas, like bleeding or staining. Yes, the product does transfer, but it is slight and subtle, so worrying about gross smears around your lips from eating or drinking are not a concern here. Since it does transfer, you would have to carry it with you to reapply throughout the day, but that’s a worthy trade-off, in my opinion, for moisturized, healthy lips, that those mattifying formulas don’t always guarantee.

Some of the colors can double as blushes, bronzers, eyeshadows, or luminizers, depending on your skin tone, just keep in mind that the tint is still going to be light, regardless how you apply it in your makeup look. Another great benefit of this lip balm is that there isn’t a scent, which makes it safe for people who have headaches or migraines that are easily-triggered by certain scents.

Price: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5

Since I got in on sale, I’m already doing a happy dance for how great of a deal this was, but even at its retail price, it’s a good deal. My usual lip balm favorite has been from Fresh, but this offers some fair comparison, without the lemonade scent and subtle taste that the Fresh lip balms have in them. Since the formula is thick and rich with moisturizing benefits, a little goes a long way with each application, further extending the value of this product.

Packaging: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5

I have to give credit where credit is due and it was due yesterday, for this product. I LOVE that they use a twist-up (swivel-up, as described on their site.) tube for their packaging, instead of wood packaging that requires sharpening. With this packaging, consumers get to maximize their use of this product, without having to throw away half of their product on shavings. My only other request would’ve been if they use some kind of divot, that would lock or “click” the lid into place, assuring that it stays closed while not in use. It’s quite frustrating to open up my bag and find that my lid wiggled off and has been smearing all over the other items in my bag, which wastes product and can possibly ruin other items in my bag. I’m not saying that to imply that this product might have dangerous ingredients in it, so, I’ll use an example. For instance, most purses or bags are manufactured with a combination of materials and textures, like cloth and faux-leather. Trying to remove a waxy lip balm with a tint in it is no easy feat, even for a dry cleaner, especially if you have a bust schedule and can’t drop everything to get said bag to a dry cleaner the moment the product comes into contact. What usually happens is it isn’t noticed until after it’s already had time to set into the fibers, possibly creating a stain that won’t ever come out. So, just be cautious if you want to keep this in a bag that has a lot of sentimental value and requires more maintenance and care.

Despite the lid, the rest of the packaging is quite durable. A quick fix I’ve used is simply using a strip of tape to keep the lid on the tube. I know that seems tacky, but it works so I’m able to carry this product with me and reapply throughout the day and not get it all over the inside of my bag. Inside my bag, this gets rubbed against by various items like my keys, crystals, cards, coins, etc. Despite all those things causing friction against the label, the lettering and detail remains intact every time. Now, I know that won’t be the case forever, but I’m impressed how well it’s held up against some of those abrasive items.
