This show gave us so many reasons to love it! I still am shocked at how well the pulled off the storyline and the ending was perfection. I am really looking forward to a rewatch someday.

Ep: 11 of k drama 'Lovely Runner' , father of the year. He is willing to take the fall in order to protect his sons image.

I was going to skip this show if it wasn't for 'Running Man' show when they had the guest 'Byeon Woo-seok' appear recently. The actor is such a likeable character in the variety show, and they promoted it well too. So because of that, watched it up until this episode of 11.

I highly recommend it, it's got great fun chemistry with all actors and actresses, loads of laugh out loud moments.

I've seen comments saying this type of k show formula is done to death, I disagree.. I love these types of show. Don't get me wrong I do occasionally enjoy the mature serious tone of shows/ themes. But you can not go wrong with this. Most of us work day jobs or night jobs, so when you get home you just want to watch a fun entertaining show. I think thats why I've been enjoying a lot of k dramas and movies, even kpop music all these years. Just pure entertainment.

I'm writing this at 12:27 AM of May 15, 2023.

Set in the scenic island of Jeju, Soulmate follows the friendship of two girls who grew up together. Ko Ha-eun lived a very mundane life before Ahn Mi-so came into the picture. Heavily burdened by her family situation, Mi-so never stayed in one place long enough, but when she met Ha-eun, she decided to live in Jeju and be with her best friend. For years, they fostered a bond unlike any other, causing trouble together, escaping trouble together, making memories together.

Until they entered the stage of self-discovery. Mi-so first. Misunderstandings formed and chaos ensued. A wedge was driven into the once-close friendship.

Both girls fumbled and stumbled as they try to salvage their lives and their friendship. In the end, tables turned and lives were switched.

I was moved multiple times during the movie. Its realistic portrayal of friendship, self-discovery, and love was the most notable feature.

The story itself was well-crafted; dialogue was spot-on and the plot was seamless as it switched back and forth from the past to the present.

My emotions piled up during the movie and it toppled over at the ending. God, I bawled my eyes out.

The movie touched something broken in me. The little me who only had friends in passing. The grade school me who was highly introverted. The high school me who was a friend of convenience.

Seeing the bond between Ha-eun and Mi-so made me realize yet again how I lacked to fill in the spot of a best friend in my heart. The best friend who I could say and do anything with. The best friend who would stick with me through the highs and lows. The best friend who I would always come back to at the end of each tiring day.

I have long since accepted that I was never going to be that friend and I was never going to have that friend, but it hurt nonetheless.

Because deep inside, I knew I wanted all of that. It's just devastating that I couldn't have it.

Okay I just want to let all my thoughts out cause they killing me inside.

Here’s what I think will happen to our villain in these two last episodes. One my delulu mind thinks he did not kill hwa ja which makes me think he might have an opportunity for redemption and repent and and get the therapy he needs and Nam soon will have some empathy towards him. Orrr if he did kill her then his only chance at redemption is by dying in nam soon arms saving her from Pavel, because we do know they are coming and he just told them she is his person. Oh I also think binbin is that guy that’s helping nam soon mom with info. Forgot the organization name.

This is a cute romance with some fun comedy and a lot of drama. Im Sol is 34 when her Idol suddenly dies. She finds out she lived near him as a 19 year old and ends up traveling back in time into her younger self to try to prevent his death.

We loved this show. It was very fun and cute with a creative storyline that was done VERY well. Almost a love triangle > but not quite. And just a taste of a bromance.

Ending: 😍 HAPPY! Very good ending with lots of extra fluff.

Tears: 😭 LOTS! This series has lots of sadness, but also lots of cute scenes sprinkled in to heal the wounds... before making new ones.
