오랜만에 소나기 내리는 걸 봤다. 동네 분식점에 들어가 김밥을 시켜 먹는데 갑자기 천둥 번개가 치더니 하늘에서 폭포처럼 물이 쏟아져내렸다. 금방 끝날 비가 아니어서 아예 튀김을 좀 더 시켜 앉아 소나기를 구경하기로 했다.

초등학교 1학년 쯤이었던 것 같다. 그날 나는 할아버지의 복덕방 사무실 문을 열고 바닥에 쪼그려 앉아 갑자기 내리기 시작한 소나기를 구경했다. 아스팔트로 포장된 땅을 부술 듯이 쏟아져내리는 강력한 빗줄기에 압도되었고, 곧 비가 그치자 언제 그랬냐는 듯 표정을 바꾼 하늘이 재미있었다.

나이를 먹을수록 재미있는 게 줄어드는 건 슬프지만 어쩔 수 없는 일이다. 소나기도 언제부터인가 그저 성가시게 발을 묶어두는 귀찮은 무언가가 되었다. 하지만 오늘은 어쩐지 소나기가 재미있게 느껴진다. 오랜만에 바쁘지 않고 여유있는 날이어서 그런 걸까?

비가 멎었다. 식재료를 좀 사서 집으로 돌아가야겠다.

so as i've mentioned earlier, i just finished watching the 14th episode of lovely runner.

and as a completely sane* person, this grandpa who was singing remember me from coco made me think of sol and sunjae.

HEAR ME OUT BECAUSE I'M GETTING SAD JUST BY IMAGINING IT.

imagine this song playing as sunjae's dying while sol is helplessly watching. once sunjae is sure that sol is safe, he'll completely succumb to his fate and he'll flash one last smile at sol.

It's so good! I was hoping to hear "LIAR LIAR" and/or "KNOCK KNOCK," but I love that "Start Up" (my favorite b-side from the comeback) made the cut!

I'm glad I didn't know this was coming until the day of. If my brain had recognized Blonde Yubin in the teaser thumbnail as an OH MY GIRL member, I would have clicked on it sooner and the anticipation would've killed me.

LOVELY RUNNER THOUGHTS

— I'm caught up to ep 10, so this contains spoilers but also don't spoil the rest of the drama if you're gonna comment!

omg I love this drama so much😭😭 I started watching it for Hyeyoon and omg I love the cast of this drama.

can you imagine secretly crushing on your neighbour and then one day, all of a sudden, while you are practicing for the Olympics, your crush runs up to you and hugs you while screaming "I love you" ?? Sunjae's shocked expression isn't because a stranger hugged him but because his crush (who he thought didnt know him) hugged him😭😭

I'm so glad the ceo of changing fates (hyeyoon) got paired with the ceo of dying (wooseok). it's a good pairing if you think about it.

I love Im Sol as a character a lot and I think it's partly because Sol is very similar to Eun Dan Oh (Extraordinary You) in her battle with her 2 selves. with Dan Oh, it's her stage & shadow self. with Sol, it's her past & future self. past Sol's love for Taesung reminds me a lot of stage Dan Oh's love for Baek Kyung. (I should also mention that Extraordinary You is one of my all time fave dramas.)

yk what else I realised. the mum knew Sunjae was their neighbor. and not only did she know that Sunjae saved Sol after the accident, she knew he saved Sol again with the phone call. the mum watched Sol fangirl over the person that saved her life twice. in the scene where Sol asks her mum who saved her, it seemed like she knew but didn't want to tell Sol and that made so much sense when I got to the part where it's revealed Sunjae saves Sol.

I also really love the Im Geum x Hyunju side plot.

in terms of OST, I love them all too! especially 소나기 (Sudden Showers?) & Star. Wooseok sounds so good 🥹 like I've had 소나기 on repeat these past few days. N.Flying's Star is also so so so good.

anyways, I'm gonna finish watching the drama after my submissions/exam season. I'm really excited to be done with my work so I can binge Lovely Runner.
