ZHONG CHENLE AS YOUR BOYFRIEND ! !
zhong chenle is the type of boyfriend that can be evil but also adorable. he is the type to tease you and when you ignore him he will become clingy to win back your favor. he is the type of take your hand firmly whenever he wants to take you somewhere, he is the type to say "cute" whenever you do anything (literally anything), play video games and demand rematches until he wins, have stupid debates with you about stupid topics, go on weekly boba runs with you, play games like pubg with you (and you guys treat it like you are profession e-sport gamers, you get really heated). he is the type to pet your hair whenever he can, be the big spoon (but secretly loves being the little spoon), plop his head into your lap when he's tired and fall asleep to you playing with his hair. he is the type to buy you random gifts (because it reminded him of you), take you on surprise dates and rarely (almost never) cancels on you. but he is also the type to make you ask for it, lean back mid kiss and smirk down at you, and hold you delicately but kiss you feverishly. he is the type to smoothly remove his jacket and shoes while keeping contact with your lips as you move closer to the couch. but mostly, he is the type to make sure you know how much he loves you.

seventeen on your periods <3
a/n: these scenarios might or might not be inspired from my irl experiences lmfao, hope you like it as much as i liked writing it <3
svt x f!reader // headcanons // fluff // m.list words: 1.3k warnings: slight cursing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
choi seungcheol
did someone say that his baby was hurting???? fully prepared with blankets, hot packs and soup to help your cramps; talked you out from your unhealthy cravings (coffee and dairy presumably worsen your cramps); used to be a bit clueless in the starting but did his research so that he could help you out <3 tries to spend his days with you and regularly texts you to see if you need anything. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR UTERUS IS COMING OFF?" calls 911.
yoon jeonghan
can see him teasing you for your foul mood and asking, are you on your period? on the days when you're just plainly... angry. he's eerily correct though (you usually get your periods in around 2-3 days after he quotes that hateful sentence), but is a sweet pie when you actually get them; he would take care of you, indulge in your cravings and cuddle you when you watch a series whether it be gore or the most slow burn shit you have ever seen <33
hong jisoo
he's so patient oh my god, the best one to have around to help your mood swings! he would patiently listen to your rant about how you tore the wrapper in a different way than you wanted to and then he would cheer you up??? like, oh god, marry me. he won't be clueless. at all. you're surprised that he knows so much about periods. "what do you mean coffee worsens cramps???" "yes baby, now put it down alright? I got dark chocolate for you." "you're the best<3"
wen junhui
boy makes you laugh so hard that you actually forget that you're on a period for a while lol. would cook and clean for you and gently kiss your forehead when you thank him for cooking so delicious meals; I can clearly see him calling you during shoots to ask if you need anything or if you're doing alright if he can't stay beside you (considering he travels a lot btw korea and china), would calm down your anger issues and it would almost seem like you both switched personalities. won't joke around too much because he doesn't wanna accidentally upset you, but he always and I mean always, does something so stupid that you end up cackling afterall.
kwon soonyoung
was clueless during the start despite having a sister; worked his way through research and observing you. you won't let him cook for you lmao, if you don't wanna cook you're ordering take out, but he's not cooking until he literally begs you to. but would gladly help you with other works, bringing groceries? buying sanitary pads and painkillers? stroke and play with your hair while you both cuddle together? all done. he doesn't do much but his presence calms you down, a lot. like really a lot. just him being near you is ibuprofen enough. "you sure you don't want me to do anything else?" "no... can you just hold me please?" "i will hold you for eternity <3"
jeon wonwoo
definitely tracks your periods, let's all your pre menstrual tantrums slide, will make you tea to calm down and educate you about periods, "apparently an average female spends nearly 10 years on her periods." feeds you food which helps relieve your period cramps. does every household chores if you're unable to do so, kisses your forehead amidst his work <3 oh also, would introduce you to cod/pubg where you can let go of your pent up anger (: "I WILL KILL YOU!" "you're doing great sweetheart."
lee jihoon
he's clueless, even more than hoshi. but he's smart so he caught up with it quite earlier than hoshi and you just didn't realise that he had zero and i mean ZERO idea about periods. like yeah he read about it in 8th grade but that's it, but would definitely be very attentive towards you and would spoil you with affection if that's what you desire. you just need to tell him what to do and he will do whatever you want. secretly buys your favorite food because your reactions are ten times more dramatic than normal and loves seeing you giggling because he did something nice. would get sad when you're not feeling your best though; can i do something to help uplift her mood? :(((
xu minghao
makes you green tea and asks you to meditate to calm your mood swings lmao. can see him trying his best to soothe you down by rubbing your back and playing with your hairs, gentle kisses on your cheeks as he urges you get up and take a hot shower and not act lazy. he's so prepared its almost scary than endearing. would also call you like three to five times while he's away... he would still not hesitate to calm down your delusions and force you back into reality from your sappy imagination. "i miss you :(" "i'm laying down right next to you." "i meant it figuratively!" "i miss my smart y/n too" "hey!!!!"
kim mingyu
be honest, you thought he was clueless right? he's not. not at all. he gets you hot towels to lightly soak your belly, gives you belly rubs, makes you soup, plays with your hair and massage your lower back to help your pain. you thought he was sweet? he's sweeter now! bam, you can't be mad at him anymore ahahahahaha. holds you close to him and runs his hand on your body; "I feel like shit gyu" "you're a pretty cute shit then"
lee seokmin
poor baby is clueless lmfao, you have to help him navigate through even basic stuff, definitely called you to ask your coochie's size because pads were available in different sizes. cooks you very delicious meals and fulfills all your cravings. your bad mood is not so bad anymore because he gave you his most radiant smile. his presence can heal you easily. "thought you felt sick?" "not now when you're here <3"
boo seungkwan
was sassing you out and then you started crying and then you revealed that you were on your periods and it all clicked. doesn't sass you, gossips! and gossips so much that you don't care about your cramps anymore! would sass other people to make you happy. takes care of you and regularly get you head pads for your aches, foot massages to make you happy <33 would definitely get sad when he sees you in pain tho :((
chwe hansol
man's chill as f and doesn't treat you any differently, while other members do tend to get a little cautious (more when you're bawling your eyes out after seeing a cat video), he won't treat you any different. he just kind of... adapts? you feel like shit? he does subtle things to make you feel good. you're emotional? hes there to be emotional WITH you. you want him to take care of you? no problem. he's there. always.
lee chan
please you can't not tell me that he was absolutely fucking clueless at first, was honestly scared when you lashed out on him for not picking up after himself and thought that you are always equally angry during your periods (who isn't lmao) he soon realised that you just have needs during that time and hormonal fluctuations just make you a little scary. would follow you like a puppy tho :( and carry out every single task obediently; would definitely wish to take away your pain. hes so sweet omg (would also ask your coochie's size)

I’ve seen many people reblog a post which contains tweets that, in my eyes, amount to a single complaint that is only half true (but that I agree with for the most part). But anyway, here’s a longpost:
Tumblr media
(tweet in question)
I think it’s mostly wrong to say FPS multiplayer “peaked” ("was most fun for the playerbase"?) with Source games in the way presented. Believe it or not, you can still join a server with 30 people playing on a user map with fucked up assets everywhere, and some of the 30 people playing will be 14-year-olds with bad mics getting mad at being spawn killed by someone with 20,000 hours in the game. In fact, there are servers like this in most Source games, including Garry’s Mod, TF2, and CSS and CSGO (but honestly I think TF2 is most representative of the above scenario). I just launched Valve’s community server browser and have found an unending list of silly-sounding servers for TF2: Minecraft trade, Murder at the Mannor, Zombie Escape, Medieval Mode, all full or near-full. I checked Garry’s Mod: SCP-RP, Zombie Survival, Clone Wars Roleplay, “Swamp Cinema”, 1980’s Mafia Roleplay, DarkRP (x20), again, all well-populated. Admittedly CS2 was mostly deathmatch servers (due to it being Source 2 and not Source and so missing a lot of plugins that would allow for “fun” servers), but CSS still had surf, bhop, minigames, and jailbreak servers still going and full. My server browser won’t show CSGO for whatever reason, but up until CS2 released I know for a fact that these silly ass servers still exist there too. The implication that these servers and their conditions are gone is wrong. You don’t want a server with the exact same conditions though, I think you want to relive the specific memories you’re having and feel happiness again. But maybe I’m going too far there.
How about this. I’ll give it to you, Dusk developer, that for you FPS multiplayer peaked with insane TF2 trade servers, but you also make boomer shooters for a living, so I think you’re biased towards enjoying an older generation of games anyway. Modern FPS games are fantastic and in their own ways contain a lot of fun. Modern games in general fill the spaces that, for you, TF2 servers filled. Have you seen Roblox minigames and Minecraft server plugins? They’re actually crazy and decently well made. I’m excited that kids have grown up in such a good environment for games. They have tons of options that we didn’t have back then. It’s awesome! Like, don’t let your nostalgia blind you to the fact that kids are having just as much fun as you now. TF2 and Garry’s Mod are not the be-all, end-all of FPS multiplayer fun. That sentiment I completely disagree with and think people should get over.
But like, how the hell does competitive gaming play into this? I truly don’t buy the wording of “Esports and competitive ranking ruined multiplayer”. It’s just not true. Not only are the servers you’re mourning still exist, they’re still well-populated and their “golden age” coincided with some of the greatest heights in competitive FPS gaming. You know what’s funny? When CSGO released in 2012, TF2 saw a drop of almost 10,000 average players. It recovered basically the next year. Besides a small dip in 2018, TF2 had held around 50,000 average players since its release, until 2019 where its average player-count has risen to about 80,000 players. Garry’s Mod wouldn’t peak in total concurrent players until 2015 and has had a dedicated core of players averaging around 25,000 since like 2013. Seriously, these are incredibly consistent player-counts throughout the release of Overwatch, PUBG, Fortnite, Apex, and Valorant. In fact, contrary to the tweeter's implicit assumptions, it seems like nothing much has changed, and that competitive gaming did not, at all, ruin or depopulate these “fun” spaces.
So, again, how does competitive gaming and esports play into this? Only thing I think is valid is the fact that a few popular modern FPSes don’t do the whole “community-hosted server” thing: Apex, Fortnite, PUBG, Valorant, and Overwatch all do not have native community-hosted server support. Which, to be frank, is bad for their competitive gaming scene too! Esports has ALWAYS used self-hosted servers for practicing to get better. I don’t know the argument for not having these sorts of things, maybe not developing the toolkit for these things is easier than developing them. IDK. But I agree that it is bad that many popular games don’t support this sort of thing. The “self-hosted netizen” is a category of person that’s been declining for a long time regardless of the effect of competitive first-person shooter games on the casual first-person shooter games self-hosted server market. But again, for the topic of the post, I think this is a completely nonsensical implication. As far as I can tell ALL Valve-made Source engine games have active and popular community servers still, and the popular games ALL have very populated servers with “fun” gamemodes and atmospheres. Competitive has grown very popular, yes. It's true. It's fun to compete, everyone knows it. But esports has taken very little if anything away from the casual playerbase of Source games.
(Also, for the record, during the actual multiplayer FPS golden age of the time, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 shooters, there were no self-hosted servers for us, and it was still the most fun anyone ever had playing casually on console. It was the age of trickshotting and montages, man! For the intent of this post that exact restriction counts as “keeping players from interacting with one another” yet these games, especially COD, were, uh… infamously social. Not to mention these games had competitive scenes alongside the casual scene perfectly fine.)
I think, really, ignoring the actual content of the tweet, these tweets are just about nostalgia for your childhood. Which is fine! You can miss things you used to do for fun and no longer do. Probably every human that’s ever existed has gone through this. I mean, again, it is kind of popular in current culture to be nostalgic. The 90s aesthetic, early 2000s media, retro games, super hero movies, cartoons being consumed by adults to a greater degree than ever, et cetera. I think to some extent the complaint itself isn’t like, a completely unclouded judgement of the Decline of The Beauty of Multiplayer Gaming throughout the years. The concrete complaints in those tweets seem both a little rose-tinted and unnecessarily doomerpilled to me. But like, regardless, it’s kind of your fault for not returning to these things, man. Go join one of those servers if you’re not busy being an adult with a job and friends and other obligations that may keep you from doing things that you’re not used to and have fun like you did in childhood. Or is that what's actually the problem…? I don’t know. A suggestion. I just think in the end the complaint isn't valid.
This post is long and I had a LOT of thoughts that I may have missed or chopped off at the incorrect time. I think the picture I'm trying to build has probably been communicated, though? Maybe I’m not considering something, maybe I overinterpreted implications, maybe the fact that the playerbase of TF2 and Garry's Mod being highly consistent for ten years or whatever is not indicative of anything I've said, but I hope regardless you understand that like, at least part of this tweet is weird to say in the ways I've attempted to untease. People young and old are still having crazy times in video games and esports has done, as far as I can tell, absolutely nothing to change at, ever.
Turning off reblogs because I have a feeling anyone who doesn't follow me might become annoying about this

seventeen as types of gamer boyfriends
wonwoo: perfect synergy, ideal partner, the two of you log on from your own individual setups and are instantly in the drift. unless, of course, you're not as good as him. then you're on your own. "sorry," he says apologetically, "i'm, uh, busy." you know he's lying because you see him online when he said he'd be working out with seungcheol
jeonghan: antagonizes you the whole time, acts offended when you refuse to game with him a second time
joshua: "what's a scope?""what key do i press to run again?""i think i found a gun!""oh no, did i shoot you? can you team kill i this game?""hey, what does this timer mean?""sorry babe, i promise i'll do better next time :(" there is no next time, you buy hm animal crossing instead but he stops playing before he even unlocks terraforming.
scoups: way too competitive, once accidentally yelled at you so hard you almost started crying and as soon as he realized, he felt so bad he spent the entire rest of the month groveling. he's afraid he'll inadvertently hurt your feelings again, so the next week, he's back to his regularly scheduled yelling-at-mingyu sessions.
woozi: a little short tempered, but is a good sport and has the skills to win. the two of you dominate pubg duos
minghao: "no"
hoshi: can't figure out the controls so you end up playing two games at once-- your own, and his via frantic yelling and play by play instructions.

New Life
chapter 5:
| Masterlist | previous | Next |
---------------------------------------
" SM Entertainment… " (Y/N) stared at the wrinkled card name in his hand while standing in front of the JYP building.
You see, the board members offered him a contract IF he showed them what he got to make them believe that (Y/N) is as talented as what Stray Kids said along with their managers.
So, he did. He showed some of the original demos he did before giving them to the 3Rachas for ideas. They were delighted hearing the demos and the beats and decided to give (Y/N) the contract of 1 year to him.
And that's what made him become doubtful with the offer. 1 hecking year? How much songs he could produce? Are they trying to squeeze his mental state? Make him overwork? Trying to produce and write lyrics all the time? The new album took like 3-5 months to prepare but that was after the lyrics and demos produced. But what about when it was from the raw start?
(Y/N) shook his head and was about to call the number on the business card but Chan came running to him, wearing a cap and a mask to avoid the attention of people walking around.
"Hey, how was the meeting? " Chan looked at his cousin with this hopeful eyes that he would work with them but it became sadness once he saw how the young lad in front of him has this doubtful kinda face. He knew he did not like what JYP offered him.
" 1 year contract. sighs i might be going to see if SM could offer me a better contract " (Y/N) looked at him and he nodded understanding. Chan looked down and saw the card in his hand.
(Y/N) raised the card and looked at Chan, waving it a little. " Who knows if they also interested in recruiting me to become their trainee huh? " Chan giggles and pushed his shoulder a little as (Y/N) started to chuckles too. " Having a cousin who is an idol also not that bad huh? Maybe all of us could hear you sing but this time with lots of audiences. "
" Nahh i'm not that good with lots of attention on me. Who knows if i do something embarassing without me knowing? "
" Speaking of that.. Stray Kids has been called Straight Kids on news… " Chan mumbled while having his eyes staring at the road.
" what. "
" A-anyways! Call that number and go to their building! "
. . . . . . . . . . . .
a few sounds of hard breathing could be heard through out the practice room as four girls could be seen in the center of the room panting after the Illusion dance practice.
"could use some cold juice right now.." Giselle spoke up as she stood up wiping her forehead with fresh towel, looking at the rest of the girls.
" I was about to ask for Mr.Lee for some juices but it seems like he got an important call earlier and dashed out of the room! " NingNing said, and leaning her body onto the nearby wall.
" Me and Winter could buy us some juices or mineral water tho. " Karina pulled out her mask and cap from her bag as Winter followed her actions and get ready to go out.
" Okie "
. . . . . . .
" after that, i have not managed to get more win-" Winter tried to tell Karina a story of her trying to solo push in PUBG but Karina pulled her arm as her eyes fixed onto two familiar males at the cafe inside SM.
"What?" Winter frowned and followed Karina's pointed finger towards a direction.
Two men that they saw was their manager and…
" Isn't it the guy who we saw at the yogurt stall?" Winter whispered as she linked her arm with Karina's, both eyes still staring at the both talking males at the cafe. Karina nodded and looked at Winter.
" We did not look that sweaty right? I still smell good right? You smelled good tho" Winter hold onto Karina's shoulders and nodded repeatedly, fixing Karina's long hair and put it rest on her shoulders.
" We're okay. " Both of them nodded to each other and proceeded to walk towards the cafe acting as if the two guys were not there. They casually walked to the counter and looked at the menu while taking a glance at them. They could not handle it but eavesdrop what they were conversing.
" That would be great- " Mr.Lee's eyes went from (Y/N) to the two obvious girls near the counter.
" Oh you two. What are you two ordering? " (Y/N) turned his head to the two girls and swear to god he felt familiar seeing them. But where..?
Seeing that Karina and Winter having their eyes on the new acquaintance, Mr. Lee coughed and started to introduce them three. "Girls, this is (Y/N). (Y/N) these are Karina and Winter. " The girls gave him a small wave as a small smile appeared on their faces.
" Aren't you the one that was from the yogurt stall back in LA? " Winter asked as she put out her hand to shake with (Y/N)'s. "P-pardon..? " Before they could shake hands, Karina's faster than Winter so shake hands with (Y/N) first before Winter could.
"H-hi I'm Ka-karina.. " Winter looked at her and smacked her shoulder, "unnie!"
"ow! What? "
while the two girls are silently bickering with each other,(Y/N) haven't touch a girl's hands before, and now holding.. i mean shaking hands with Karina, he does not want to let it go. It feels like Karina's hand is a missing piece of puzzle that he wanted to keep for as long as he wants to but it cut short when Winter pulled Karina's hand away from (Y/N)'s hold. Karina frowns as she immediately missed the warmth of the latter's hand.
" Anyways guys.. (Y/N) here has a business to do so, he gotta go " Mr.Lee patted (Y/N)'s shoulders and showed him the way to the office he was heading to at the first place after meeting with Mr.Lee. The young lad nodded and bowed to them before taking his leave to the office
" You know him? " Karina started the conversation as they started their way back to the practice room. Giselle and NingNing might have waited for so long for their juices to come
Mr.Lee explained to the two of them about (Y/N) and how he offered him for a job at SM. He felt like he wanted to tease them a little bit about what he just seen earlier at the cafe so he mentioned that (Y/N) wanted to write songs for aespa. Both of them just 'ooh-ed' at the new information and secretly likes it.
" Yah! Where have you guys been?! "
" WHERE'S OUR DRINK"
" Oh shoot we forgot.."

what are your thoughts on whether the Camp or Workbench technology canonically works like the game functions? throughout most of fallout 4 I assumed it was like, the build menu is a UI and lore-wise it just represents the act of constructing a settlement more than being the actual function. but then the DLC with the vault came along and kind of implied it functions in universe the same way it does in game, and the camps from 76 also seem to function the same. but if it does, it seems weird that the largest human settlements like Diamond City aren't based around workbenches. I can't figure out whether that was intentional or just typical Bethesda not really caring if something counts as lore or not
yeah... yeeeaahhhhhhh, there are holotapes where people try to talk about CAMPs organically, and it's all just... Special Hist Tree shit
yknow like if you were reading up on the Hist from TES lore, you get an overview of this tree's hivemind, as laid out in the primordial worldbuilding, and it's disrupted by a paragraph like
There Was Four Special Hist Trees In Cyrodiil In 162514 That Did Not Was Hive Mind, But Make You Frenzy For Three Turns When Consume Of Sap. Then A Mysteryman DESTROYEd Special Hist Tree goodbye forever
nobody had anything to say. nobody meant anything, nobody had an idea, or a fantasy, or a whimsy or muse or impassioned supposition whatsoever. what they had was gameplay design goals and a fan wiki teeming with deep lore buzzwords just begging to be superficially deployed as justification for whatever quest they were more or less already going to do.
likewise, to be blunt, when FO writers start inventing prewar consumer goods or black ops that only function to excuse some highly abstract function of Bethesdagame 3, i aggressively tune it out. it's not hard to spot. much of 4/76 is sticky with excuse residue.
for instance Dodge's voice clips in Daily Ops are technically fallout lore, but by the time people start making assertions about bethesda's alleged implicit military lore based on voiced radiant quests, im alrdy a calder-shaped dust cloud
like. dodge is one man alone in one room who calls himself the brotherhood of steel, unrelated to the atlas brotherhood. Cool. i defy you to find one scrap of this man's context or dialogue interesting. the ratio of words to ideas in 4-76 is dark
fallout 76 begged me to validate CAMP Modules as lore ten different times and every time i was like 76 youre embarrassing me. yes we know about the tackle box that makes you build a castle. yes you told me it was manufactured by Future-Tec. no i dont want to buy a Future-Tec themed santa hat. dear you're making a scene. i am not doing this right now.
i do think pubg vault was the height of this recklessness and they've been moving in a more sincere direction post-wastelanders

Lvl 1: Rating PUBG's Gender Representation
Ready, Player?
PUBG: Battlegrounds, the extremely popular first-person shooter, has an interesting character creation mechanic compared to its competitors--Fornite, Call of Duty, Apex Legends, etc. So does it's character creation adhere to gender stereotypes and reinforce the gender binary? Let's find out.
Tumblr media
Ratings will go from a scale from 1 to 10. 1 being the worst---having little to no customization and strictly adhering to gender stereotypes in their character design. 10 being the best---plenty of ways to customize your character and allows for 'boundary-less' character design. For example, do masculine frame characters only sport buzzed cuts and muted colors? And, do feminine frame characters only sport long high ponytails with bows and bright saturated colors?
PUBG BATTLE GROUNDS: 5.8 out of 10
Given the game mechanics and the ultimate purpose of the game, I wasn't surprised how much PUBG lacked diverse character creation. The game is designed to be a PVP, battle royale, first-person shooter game---so I didn't really have high hopes for it.
Binary Bounded: 6 out of 10
4 out of the 9 hairstyles are shared with the two player frames---which was somewhat unexpected. These 4 hairstyles consist of a low mini ponytail, a short buzz cut, an afro, and a half shaved bob (Tales of Lumin - Character Creation & More!).
Given its micro-transaction model for wardrobe customization, there are a multitude of different ways to mix and match what your character is wearing from a full lobster costume to practically a bra and mini skirt. Players can wear all of the purchased content regardless of feminine or masculine frame and pick certain assets of the outfit to purchase rather than buying the whole set--which is actually pretty cool (Tales of Lumin - Character Creation & More!).
This allows for players to customize their character without being bounded to any existing binaries. So, they could ultimately create any type of visuals they want that are not bound by what frame they use.
Resisting Stereotypes: 5 out of 10
However, there are various things that I found problematic with the purchasable options. Although it is not relevant to my topic, it is worth noting that lot of the 'faces' that are purchasable depict (mostly) BIPOC features, rather than them just being free alongside the two faces that have white/eurocentric features. Further, most items that are clearly geared toward the feminine framed characters are hyper-sexualized. Nonetheless, I see didn't any purchasable armor for both frames either... So PUBG isn't really rooted in any realistic wardrobe expectations.
Additionally, there is no bodily customization with the two existing feminine and masculine frames. Therefore, there is only one body type represented within the respected frames that the player must use.
Overall Customization: 6.5 out of 10
TOTALS: 17.5 out of 30 = 5.8 out of 10

What game did you play on pc and your phone?
I used to play a lot of games before but I guess I kinda grew bored.
I played League of Legends, PUBG, Valorant, Minecraft for PC. I'm more of a Free to Play guy since I don't really like spending that much money on games like buying skins or anything and that did translate to mobile games as well.
For mobile games, I'm more into open-world rpg since I suck at aiming with my phone, discovered that while trying PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile never played them again ever since. Well lets see, Chimeraland was fun, Yeager: Hunter Legend is also up there with it. I also did have a MOBA phase of sorts, I tried playing Wildrift but got bored since it's just league in phone, but the MOBA that I enjoyed the most will be Extraordinary Ones if it weren't for the stupid queueing system and goofy server I probably would've enjoy it till now.
I think that's all.

How Malaysians coped under the pandemic- and public health 😷
Tumblr media
P/S : I'm typing this out from my point of view as I experienced the pandemic as an 18 year old who just graduated from high school so basically I was not studying that time, and would play PUBG with friends I barely talk to now until 3a.m. Hopefully I'll still be as insightful.
When Covid-19 hit drastically in Malaysia in 2020, the whole nation went under lockdown which meant people couldn't physically interact with other people who didn't live under the same roof. From here, you can clearly tell how social media fits in this week's post. Call me an optimist but I'm glad to have gone through such a time with social media existing, in the 2nd decade of the 21st Century. I clearly remember a week turning into 3 weeks, to a month, to just 3 whole months of lockdown with no simple way out.
Over the past 2 years, social media has helped a lot in spreading information about the virus which clearly effected the public health. Alongside that, the pandemic effected other concerns too which included people losing their jobs, economic crisis, people's mental health and also the lack of food for households. With social media, it felt as if we weren't totally alone, although most days felt really draining and undetermined.
Tumblr media
Alas in good light, those with access to social media were entertained by applications such as Tiktok, which blew up a lot during the pandemic because of its constant mindless scrolls of videos. I mean, it's not like we could do anything else anyway. There was the Dalgona Coffee trend, a lot of Megan Thee Stallion dances made and the 'I'm bored in the house yeah I'm in the house bored', if you know, you know, I guess!
Okay, I'm steering away a bit, back to public health!
I always say social media is helpful and I see the positive side of it mainly because my insights were all these infographics regarding Covid-19. Day after day they were go viral and with the ever ending use of Instagram, Whatsapp, Twitter and Facebook, people were easily aware about these important details.
Tumblr media
For example, this infographic above guides individuals on how to use a face mask, because I do recall some people that weren't sure which type to buy, how to wear it and even shared their face masks with people. That was honestly so dangerous so I'm glad they came up these things to spread awareness.
Tumblr media
I hope many Malaysians (who see this, lol) remember this image above! Because every single day family group chats would be updated with this on the Covid-19 cases and also all over other social media applications. It was so scary when the numbers kept increasing for positive cases, but we were always hopeful for more recoveries in the days coming.
Tumblr media
There was also this application made for only Malaysians called MySejahtera which was quite successful in my opinion. Before this app was created, individuals who went out had to write down their names, phone number and their body temperature before entering a shopping mall, store, restaurant, or anywhere enclosed to be precise. Unfortunately, there was a plothole to this method as people could get away with writing down and also lie about their credentials. This is where the app comes in.
By August of 2021, most people had already gotten their 2 doses of vaccines. With that, all enclosed areas would restrict those with only 2 full doses to enter. A friend of mine who was interning in Kuala Lumpur that time couldn't even enter Pavillion mall because she had only 1 dose. This was all automatically uploaded and kept in each Malaysian citizen's MySejahtera. In order to enter, all you needed to do was scan the QR Code provided.
Tumblr media
Social Media also enabled for this infographic above to be shared around many Malaysians before getting their vaccine. Even though there wasn't much choice since Malaysia had only fully provided Pfizer for the elderly, AZ and Sinovac for the rest, it was still good to be notified about the other vaccines existing.
Tumblr media
I always love a clean, simple yet informed infographic and the image above did just that. It kept to its main point and conducted it well for people to read and dissect the message. That is, the message above is to spread awareness on places that one may highly likely get the virus.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) Malaysia created several infographics and guides for those who seek help during hard times like the pandemic. I'm not going to go in detail but if you check out their site https://www.who.int/malaysia/emergencies/covid-19-in-malaysia/information/mental-health, you can see that WHO provided for those who have lost their loved once, for the frontliners and even those who were struggling with their mental health.
I wasn't enrolled in Swinburne that time but they had also done a Swinburne's Mental Health awareness week, which is good as a university in Sarawak to promote such importance to students. Checklists and Bingos were a way to engage with a lot of people online so it was quite popular at that time. Here, I scrolled all the way down to @/swinburnesarwak's 2020 posts to find this.
Tumblr media
All and all, it's good to know how Malaysians all over used social media to their fullest in maintaining a safe environment for most during the pandemic. Sharing these correct infographics, articles regarding the virus may seem small but here's the beauty of social media : nothing is ever as small when it's already out there.
