I went to the Columbus Zoo!

This sweet Eastern Diamondback was snuggling with two Canebrake rattlers. Allegedly there was an Eastern black ratsnake in there somewhere, too, but it was sleeping elsewhere in the enclosure.

My Unpopular Opinion on zoo reptile husbandry: Just because it's in an accredited zoo doesn't necessarily mean it's the most up-to-date or accurate husbandry. Personally it gives me the ick to see at least four snakes of three different species co-habbed in a single enclosure that has a smaller ground footprint than a recommended minimum-sized enclosure for one single snake... But admittedly I'm not a zookeeper so I assume they know something I do not.

i feel like a lot of the conversation around mcr and the fan reception during the comeback was like, you should be GRATEFUL that mcr is even back! to ask for anything more even a CRUMB is TOO MUCH and you are UNGRATEFUL HORRIBLE FANS. $500 for nosebleeds please. and everyone was like okay❤️i’m keeping my head down shutting the fuck up enjoying that they’re back❤️. but obviously fans have so much questions-most of which are unanswered btw- and the fact that it’s been 5 years since their comeback show, 2 years since the tour, and there’s still no answers and more questions than not… the radio silence except for the vinyl re-issues… dare i say that mcr have taken their fans for granted and are completely egotistical and ungrateful to the people that continue to line their pockets and fund their side projects lol
