Logos leaned back in his seat, resting his head against his fist as he stared at a screen displaying Pathos, currently being buried beneath a mass of different ghostly animals. "That there is."

Distain crossed Damian's face. "Who in their right mind would ever clone the likes of you, brother?" He waved a hand at the screen, a small flash of envy that crossed his heart over seeing the clone buried beneath a mass of fluff, before blinking, and jerking his head and Daniel's direction. "Full offense."

"None taken." Logos's voice was cold and emotionless, containing a more mechanical edge due to the voice changer installed in his gas mask. "Pathos is not my clone, he is half of me." Logos raised his other hand before Damian could speak. "We were torn apart, in case you were wondering."

Damian hummed, moving his eyes away from the screen and around the lab. Giving a begrudging nod at the extreme cleanliness, and eyeing a few of the tech left around, before turning back to his twin with a raised eyebrow. "I can't imagine the reason you called me here was for a mere chat."

Logos nodded. "Pathos wishes to become a hero, yet I have a different goal." Logos stood up from his chair, walking over to Danny until he was relatively close and held out a hand. "Such that I am unable to watch over him at every turn, so, dear brother. Will you look over him in my stead?"

Damian stared at the outstretched hand, before back at Daniel's gas mask covered face. His face was calm as he stared back at his twin, before clicking his tongue. "Tt. As pathetic as always. Such incompetence that you need others to clean up whatever mess your other half will surely bring." Damian crossed his arms, glaring at his twin.

"I will not be that person, Daniel."

Logos hummed. "The probability of you saying no was quite high, so I am not surprised." He walked past Damian, beckoning his twin with a hand to follow as he stopped at a nearby table, quickly gathering a few items he sought after. "These are the objects that will 'sweeten the deal' as some would say."

Said objects looked to be a few buttons, a ball, a laser pointer, and an arm bracer.

"And you expect me to accept to watch over your other half, for mere trinkets?" Damian wrinkled his nose, as he stared at Daniel as if he were an idiot, which he very surely believes he is. "I expected you to be smarter than that, but I am not surprised by your usual incompetence."

Logos shook his head. "These are not mere trinkets, brother, and I know you recognize that as well. These," Danny picked up the few small buttons, tossing them at Damian, who easily caught them. "Will are capable of expanding into ectoplasmic nets, that will also deliver a shock to those who try to get out of them, nothing lethal, so worry not about your father having an issue with them."

Damian hummed, holding one of the buttons up to his eye. Logos waved to a nearby target that he set up for this exact circumstance. "Go ahead, try it."

Damian glanced at his twin, before throwing the button at the target. It expanded into a large net that shouldn't have been able to be held in such a small object, wrapping around the target.

"Unfortunately, you will be unable to test the shock function at this moment, so you will have to test it later on a live subject."

"Tt."

Logos tilted his head. "You seem displeased."

"That you are capable? Yes. I am."

Logos hummed, before taking up the ball. "That is a mechanical eye, you be able to see through it, which would certainly make it easier for you who stalks the night, yes?" Damian clicked his tongue, and Logos took that as enough to continue. "You will be able to look through it with these," He picked up the arm bracer in his other hand and handed both items to Damian. "The bracer connects to the eye, which will show you a live recording of what is happening on the other side." Logos turned to pick up the laser pointer, before blinking. "Ah, just will it to move, and it will. So long as you have the bracer on."

Damian stared at the bracer for a moment, before swiftly putting it on, and the mechanical eye sprang to life as soon as he finished. A screen appeared over his arm, giving him a direct look through the eye's position. He tested the movement and found it true.

"Being torn apart may have been the best thing that has happened to you, brother."

"Perhaps." Logos threw the laser pointer at Damian, which he caught. "That is a small, portable laser, while also acting as a regular laser pointer. Just twist the knob at the bottom and you'll be able to adjust it." Logos' eyes narrowed. "Do not test it in here, or anywhere near here, for that matter."

Damian pocketed it silently, before recrossing his arms. He grunted.

"Pathos will be happy to receive your cooperation, though he is quite emotional, I expect you to work around that." Logos held out a hand, and Damian stared at it for a good few moments, before begrudgingly putting his hand in his twin's for a handshake.

Damian had a foreboding feeling that he would regret ever accepting this deal, and not even a minute after meeting him he already did.

while on the topic of iron posting. a very small very insignificant thing that i really enjoy is that nobody really harasses it for not speaking. and like. we don't know precisely why it doesn't speak. it could be because it's mute, it could be due to an unseen injury, it could just be a selective choice, it could be that it never bothered to learn human language to begin with, etc etc. but there's never been a scene (at least as far as i can recall) where mr iron is specifically called out or pressured or anything of the sort. not even by its own haters 4 haters coworkers. and yeah this is realistically probably because its an ESPECIALLY deadly space bat that could kill you six ways from sunday if you pissed it off, but also, y'know, sometimes it's really nice just having a mute character that's treated Normally for once

After a brief slumber in the neutrocasket, our brand-new android is pumped full of neutroamine and ready to join our colony at last!!

He will henceforth be called Alistair, which means "defender of mankind". Alistair is programmed with a level 12 melee ability, which is a skill we're actually lacking a lot in our colony. Hopefully, he will be a very good defender of our two mechanitors and Ivy—if they ever allow him anywhere near combat. They'll probably be quite precious with him for a long time yet.

The Jones boys were quick to make some fresh clothes for Alistair, and even gave him a hat because I was so caught up in the excitement of making things for a cool new colonist that I forgot I'd have to draw it.

you know what I've always wondered? if being a hero is genetic, and heroes have extra strength and vitality and shit, what in the world could have happened to sparrow and roses parents? do you have any fun theories?

So I've always been in the camp of something similar to what we see at the end of the perfect world quest. Like i know its a test, but it seems to be digging into Sparrow's subconscious. With how they and Rose are having their perfect day, but the parents aren't there to me has always indicated that either the memories of their parents so blurry they can't visualize them like they can rose, or they're supressed for some reason.

Then when they leave, like their parents did that morning before they woke up, and are greeted with corpses. The wiki says thats meant to represent the death Sparrows journey has brought into the world, but I think it could very well be attributed to how the parents died.

Likely caught unaware while leaving to go and make money to keep their children fed and cared for-maybe not necessarily as farmers, they could have lived in Bowerstone and just had regular jobs- and killed, could have been bandits, could have been nicky the nick names crew. But if they weren't ready, or were unarmed, they could have been overwhelmed, especially if we go with the idea that the Hero of Southcliff is their father, because their story takes place 50ish years before 2, so they'd be aging and no longer in their prime.

I've also always liked the idea that sparrow may have actually seen the deaths, or at least the immediate aftermath, leading to them suppressing a lot of their childhood,- and that also being why during the begining and in her diary rose doesn't mention them at all-but while on the precipice of death themselves these memories get brought back up, just like how when you leave the scream Rose lets out is the same as when Lucien shot her.

Look, i'm saying this without anyone in mind.

But i've realized that when people make redesigns without the condescending attitude of "I'm FIXING this and doing everyone a favor" and yes in the spirit of "I'm doing it to cater to my own tastes" or "I'm doing it for design study/practice" i can simply enjoy them 10x better than someone claiming they "fixed" something that in my opinion does not need to be fixed.

I like to redesign stuff, really. But i'm not doing it for self-absorbed attitude of "fixing" something for the others -- I'm doing it to cater to my own tastes and to practice. And people who are more likely to be doing it for themselves and for style studies makes me feel way more comfortable around them than someone dunking on an official design and for some reason making their version something that makes me enjoy more the official one, or someone's own take of the same thing done with no bad faith in mind.

What do i mean by that? I think we all should give attention to the people who are doing it with no intent of "fixing" something in order to do the others a "favor" -- trust me, there's people who really like the original/official design, and look, even the official media has different versions of a certain design (like, in Digimon and Pokemon, for example?) so it's OKAY to make your own take, just don't be pretentious and mean, please.

Tho, the only fixes i have to agree are the ones just correcting very sexualized designs imo, because i'm sick of the sexualized stuff on minors and women. What i mean with "unnecessary fixing" is things like "fixing a design that's not sexualized or bad, and then claiming that you made it better and that the fanbase should thank you".

And if anyone ends up clipping any of this, something I do want to say is I implore people to view everything with a lot of enthusiasm. No stress, no anxiety, just a lot of enthusiasm. Because, again, this is going to allow for a lot of cool things in the server. Not just now, but in the future, too.

Kill their father. Though it wasn't just for me.

We were young, fresh adults I suppose. Their mother had died to a mega mute, so it was time for their father to step down as Alpha of their pack and for one of them to step up. Only one of them. The other would have to leave and live as a lone wolf until he could make his own pack, as was tradition for siblings of age.

At the time I was their little secret, and had been for about 8 years, living in secret in the woods around the observatory. They'd worked hard to hide my scent and keep their pack, their alpha, from discovering me.

Our plan was to run away and make our own pack. Billions and Billions, who didn't yet have those names, those are alpha names, couldn't be without one another, and they'd both grown very fond of the human with all the human knowledge they'd kept hidden in their backyard. So they'd pack up everything important to them, and we'd run away in the daytime before their trial to choose the Alpha.

But their father found us, found me, and decided this was a perfect opportunity. A human is a rare, challenging hunt, especially a smart one that could hide his scent and avoid detection for 8 years in a Wolf's backyard. Whichever brother could take me down first would become the next Alpha, and the other would leave the pack a disgrace.

I was given a 5 minute head start

I used that time to find somewhere to cover my ears to muffle out the alpha's screaming.

Billions and Billions don't have much to feel jealous of. Not eachother, as they are two sides of the same coin, perfect halves of a whole. Not the rest of the pack, as they stand above them, Alphas with unquestioned authority. Not other Mutes, as Newton Wolves as the smartest and strongest of mutes, the other's have nothing to offer.

The only time they'd feel threatened is if another, smarter human appeared. They could offer me something the twin alphas could never achieve even with all their brilliance. It would be a risk they couldn't take.

But as their father had said long ago

A human is a rare, challenging hunt. Especially a smart one.

Very funny worldbuilding headcanon that Sornieth is large and has other continents with other dragons and beastclans and the like. Feels weird to liken it to FFXIV's Aldenard in comparison to the whole setting's world scope in Dawntrail but something like that where all we see is only a small part of the larger world.

but the Deities are just invested in this one land continent specifically. Pillar chunks are a major reason but perhaps not the only one.

Like things are hunky-dory in the godless lands and are actually thriving very well (the shade is only attracted to the powerful / primal elemental magics that happen due to Deity habitation, and as a result are shockingly rare in the godless lands compared to our sornieth continent we play in).

but the dragons over there say "as tempting as sudden magic powers are don't go to the Godlands, the gods got wild beef over there it's all fighting all the time".

Yes this mildly conflicts with the implicit lore of Deities needing to presently imbue the lands so that dragons can nest have hatchlings / reproduce but I like to think that there's other ways to make eggs w/o magic needed.
