so uhm i'm in the endgame portion of DA2 and...i hate it. Half of the the companions have left me, i feel bad, fucking anders is aaaa-

i could finish it tonight but i'm literally crying because of how awful this is, so i decided to stop. I'm between like...actually finishing the game or deleting this save and starting over more carefully. The only thing that's stopping me from doing the latter is that i've already come so far but goddamn this is not how i had wished to finish this game...

sometimes it really does feel like awakening walked so inquisition could crawl

#plot-wise mostly #imagine a game designed like inquisition but it's awakening......#you have advisors and a war table would make sense and you've gotta get a bunch of recruits #but it still makes sense to be doing the bulk of the work yourself because you're the commander (and arl) and you're rebuilding the ranks #i wish you could mod inquisition as well as you can mod origins because i would absolutely commit myself to remaking awakening in dai #da #dao #dai #personal #i occasionally see people talking about how cool an origins remake would be and if they included awakening in that it'd be SO cool #and amgarrak would also make sense as part of awakening as like. a similar kinda thing to the descent #witch hunt not so much because you can leave at the end. i guess it'd be better postgame like trespasser #ive thought about what i could do with origins as a dai mod because you've already got redcliffe #but modding dai is so hard beyond superficial dialogue or texture changes #they dont have a broodmother model tho. and i dont think they have anything even remotely similar #nor desire demons. cowards #anyway im not saying all this because it's something im planning. it's absolutely not. im not getting into dai modding it sucks #but back to the actual post.#like it would MAKE SENSE that you're collecting requisitions and that you dont have a team doing all the exploring for you #you still find quarries and logging stands because you basically do that for wade anyway #the blackmarsh and wending wood could be really cool as larger and more involved areas (as long as they actually had stuff to do)#so would kal'hirol. i just mean in terms of open outdoor environments #vigil's keep could have more than one room lmao #they could have done that in the original too but also.. it was an expansion not a full game. im more thinking about its potential #how would you go about expanding the plot to make a full game then?#i guess each of the three major quests would have to have more going on and also have more side quests in each area #(as long as they're actually interesting and not just miscellaneous collection quests)#they could add romances but then....what do you do with anders? they couldnt really make him romancable for both hawke and the warden-cmd #if you increased the size of awakening you'd probably add more companions i guess? the main games all have ~9

I honestly truly wish that I could enjoy inquisition as much as other people did, because every time i see a post about people praising inquisition all I can think is how much i hate that game.

#the centrism #the mechanics #hawke suddenly being anti blood magic when they could have been a blood mage #the hatred towards anders for no reason #the final fight is boring and does not feel nearly as epic as the ones in dao and da2 #i feel so numb during most of the game #the only moment i even came close to feeling something was in the stroud/hawke choice and then when i discovered that wouldn't be adressed #in the near future i no longer gave a shit #wicked hearts and wicked eyes S U C K S #before the dawn is such a goddamn drag #here lies the abyss is fun tho i'll give them that but how the game treats the wardens pisses me off #the fact that the mage and templar war gets swept aside for corypheus who sucks as a villain #i like the companions but idk i'm not as invested in them as i am in the ones from the other games #even the romance but i think its bc i already had spoilers for the romance when i played so i didn't care for it that much #i don't like the inquisitor as a character bc they're basically a chosen one which is not a trope i like and theyre so stale it hurts #idk what the hell happened but the voice direction for the inquisitor is SO. bland.#no shame to the actors more on the direction they were given #and tresspasser. trespasser pisses me off.#poor teagen is the only reasonable person there #trespasser is too fucking long for no reason #by the time i get to the solas part #which is the best part #i am so TIRED #that i barely feel anything i'm just like thank god its over #also #it felt like a damn slap in the face #when my qunari inquisitor had to ask LELIANA OF ALL PEOPLE #to read something in qunlat #like the problem i have with inquisition is that 1) i hate the politcis of it and the lack of choice you have to go against it #and 2) i barely feel anything

For reasons I just categorised all of Rob Liefeld’s DC work, and it generally falls into 3ish categories:

1. Hawk & Dove (1988 mini, 2011 run, TT v3 27-28)

2. I think Rob was contracted for a year of work but we cancelled H&D, give him Deathstroke for 5 issues (2012)

3. Spot work on mass art situations in the late 80s (Secret Origins, Who’s Who)

3 ish. Rob seems to be a friend of Jeph Loeb and gets asked by Loeb to help out on occasion (back up story of Orion 8, multi artist issue in Superman 165 for Christmas 2000, and Superman/Batman 26, aka the Sam Loeb memorial issue where everyone in existence close to the family got given a couple of pages)

I think whoever offered Rob Liefeld a year of comics work with n52 has rocks in their head, but this was in no way the worst decision anyone made during n52.
