I don't know you guys but to me Blitzo's expressions in these scenes don't read as ¨someone who may have a secret crush on Stolas¨ and more as ¨extremely uncomfortable around this person but still puts up with him because he needs him to be able do his job¨ kind of thing
#The first two he looks specially uncomfortable having to talk to Stolas#I was rewatching the first season for the sake of it#and i noticed how in general Blitzo doesn't seem to have any type of feelings for Stolas at all#I guess you could count the hallucination scene from episode 6?#But based on previous interactions it looks more like he feels ¨trapped¨ in that relationship#Most of the time when they are together is because of a job Blitzo is being paid for or Blitz using Stolas like in episode 7#But outside of that it looks like he would rather avoid Stolas

Hello Starry Anon ✨ here! I would like to give a huge applause to that one anon sharing a Lackahazbin au (If I am correct-) This overall inspired me to write an idea that explodes my head in 1 sec per min, but this only like my au draft idea:
Warning this is whole long paragraph-
Probably would like to see someone making an idea putting Helluva boss cast into Lackadaisy and making to cats (That has better designs than Viv) And other people writing them interesting and overall many potentials stuffs, and MORE DEPTH TO THEIR PERSONALITY than Viv's writing.
But enough talking about Viv! Cause today I am sending Octavia (And Stella) to Lackadaisy, yep! Cause she deserves better, better parents than that crappy sack pathetic excuse of an owl Stolas!
I would make Octavia a scottish fold mixed with, cause well their folded ears look similar like other owls. I also had an weird idea to make her as Wick's niece, yes she's now half siamese, Idk to me everytime I look at Wick he reminds of dad friend not really but he could be a uncle. (And he does remind me of my uncle who's really nice, well expect the geology thing.)
As her design, not sure yet. But already imaging her wearing some alt goth outfits, formal or like Lolita, cause yes like cmon sprinkle the girl some goth style Viv! Seriously.. But I still needed to follow the 1920s accurate fashion style If I ever tried to reimagined her as a cat.
Also would maybe put Stella in Lackadaisy universe, I were a writer I would maybe give her a bit of a personality rather than one off mean mom. Stella will still have anger issues, but atleast not screaming all the time, and ain't stoopid cause look how they downgraded her to a idiot >:( , maybe sassy but is a caring mother to Octavia. Lmao I can imagine Stella and Wick being sibblings (Or like half sibblings- but I am all for sibblings dynamics, and yes I like the idea of Grumpy/Sassy big Sister and Clamn little brother.).
This is kinda a excuse wanting the urge to write a fanfic Wick being a uncle to Octavia, and maybe Stella reuniting with Wick again after she divorced Stolas (Who by is sucked by the blackhole cause I said so) , like he would write some letters and sends gifts to her when his too busy. Will visit Octavia and greet her, about the gifts parts since Octavia likes Astronomy stuffs Wick could show her telescope then the two outside star gazing, they could tag Stella along too, the same Stella would bring Wick in a shopping spree with Octavia. He would comfort Octavia when she's crying, or having a bad day and will give her the space she needed. And many more more, ideas.
As much I love to ramble I am afraid I have no idea what to say. But this isn't really my first idea, the first I had was Octavia being tired of living with her stooped owl Dad and founds out a book about reincarnated to another world, so she's like "screw you Dad I am leaving" and Boom she's in Lackadaisy bit doesn't remember her current life and maybe has a better childhood (If crime in there was practically avoided.).
Overall I am happy with this idea, but you'd only have to agree with if you don't like it, it's okay. I just happened to like sharing ideas in a essay paragraph. Well sorry about that, but that's it today and I hope you have a good day/Night!
-By Starry Anon ✨
Thanks for your ideas, Starry Anon! The owl --> Scottish fold concept is my favorite, and I love what you've done with Stella.

What's your take on Stella?
Personally I find Stella to be a character that's overall very lackluster. As a saturday morning cartoon esque villian she's not over the top enough to be very entertaining when we see here. As a legitimate portrayal of an abuser in a relationship, I find it rather distasteful and sloppy as Stella is simply implied to have been born a little monster child who didn't even care about her own daughter, thats not to say you must resort to trying to make her sympathetic, however if you intend to portray a very serious issue of abuse, you should be doing your research and understand human components to what makes people abusive. Let alone the idea Stella doesnt care for Octavia reads rather hollow of a point when Stolas didnt want to have Octavia as much as he didnt have a choice.
I almost want to say Stella functioned as funny when she came off as a odd take on the nagging wife trope where she's constantly yelling and fighting with Stolas except its from an angle where theyre both in a relationship equivalent to roomates who've lived together for so long that you'd almost mistake them for a couple, except if you asked them they'd in tandem insist they cant stand each other.
A large problem is the writing not being well planned. We know initially Stella being an abuser was not the planned story because Octavia says they used to be in love and clearly has times she looks back on as when they were happy. Now I can speak as someone who's parents had quite the messy and unpleasant divorce and the problem with this is Octavia is in her teens. When you're still young, its easy to look at moments with rose tinted glasses as when your parents were happy, specifically because we grow up with them in our heads as what a happy relationship looks like, but its usually by your teens when your discovering yourself and learning more about the outside world beyond the circle of your immediate family that we learn to look back on moments of our childhood in a different light. Ill keep it from being too personal, but in my younger years while i didnt understand why my parents fought because I had memories of going to the park with them and seeming happy together, in my teens i thought more about how many times I went to bed hearing them yell and break things downstairs because while I didn't do it often, when I did stay at friends houses their parents never fought or at least nothing like mine. And because of this it reads rather inconsistent Octavia is 17 and somehow yet to have realized in retrospect this was a long ways coming, or be rather uncaring about it due to arranged marriages meaning you'd have many unhappy couples meanwhile everyone on the outside of the Goetia circle looks in with a sort of disbelief because marriage is such a expensive and important thing, some people go their whole lives never marrying their loved ones because they hope to save it that money for their children, but people like the Goetias do it all for status and money. But this is about Stella, not Octavia.
If I had a say, I'm not opposed to the idea Stella and Stolas were in an arranged marriage, I think this would be a tragic root of their problems. I imagine because the reason being that this actually is commonplace in the goetia. It's not for money, but it's been very much a practice going back generations that you marry someone of equal status and standing. It's seen as a garuntee you don't marry someone who is only interested in your money or anything else you provide and it's something planned at a young age because it's your parents job to find someone as soon as possible to avoid being out of options at 17. When Stolas and Stella met, they got along, and were childhood best friends, the problem is as they got older and the weight of marrying started becoming something they could process, they found it something they didn't want. Stella was crying in their early teens because she didn't want to end up unhappy like her parents, and Stolas was the one who reassured her they wouldn't be like that and were gonna be different. He promised no matter what happened they'd try to make it work.
And Stella did try, its just that when she caught Stolas cheating of course she felt a lot of things. Angry, lied to, betrayed. This was the guy who told her they were going to try to make it work, and now he was cheating on her. I think Stella would be compelling if she was someone who because of the timing, feels as though Stolas used her for a child and proceeded to throw her out. And so she very much insists upon and teaches Octavia to never rely on men to provide for her but instead to learn to provide for herself and be independent because to Stella, trusting Stolas is what ruined her life.
Stella is someone who due to her limited understanding of Stolas's actions and Stolas's unwillingness to communicate feels wronged by Stolas but ironically despite the twos anger towards each other (Stolas feeling like Stella is choosing not to understand his situation) they both agreed upon not setting up Octavia for an arranged marriage, they've never looked and refuse any offers. I think they would be these sort of rivals in a way that Octavia feels she's being pulled between but the resolution would be them seeing how upset Octavia is and how she feels ignored by both of her parents who spend more time fighting than with her, and its this moment both of them see their daughter upset at them fighting it's somewhat of a wake up call. They dislike eachother but despite their differences, they love her. And its this moment they both realize how they lost sight of what really mattered during all of this. Both of them got so caught up in their emotions and wanting to get back at eachother they never quite thought of how Octavia must have been feeling.
Stories wise this is when their arguments would tone down and we could shuffle in a new big bad guyTM, with Stella and Stolas's arguments now relatively tame where they have the petty argument but they always make sure Octavia isn't their to know about it and largely are focused on whats best for their daughter. I just think overall Stella would be a better character if she was more human, But right now it seems Vivs primary focus is using her to make the fact Stolas cheated on her actually justified, which unfortunately flattens and removes the nuances both should have to come off human.

"HOO HOO, you got me ... I'm terribly shy. perhaps you should help me ... loosen up a bit, hm?"
stolas teased with a coy chuckle, taking a pause to stain his beak with a measured sip of his wine, and level a rather inviting bedroom-eyed look at his feisty date, revelling in the sight he took in; he was devastatingly ravishing, as always - a fierce king among imps. there was no escaping the anticipation he felt coiling like a snake in the pit of his groin, and it left him squeezing his crossed thighs together, pushing a soft sigh out of him.
"--alas, now you know my greatest weakness. other than that, I am rather averse to garlic, though I won't suffer any ill-consequences if I do ingest it."
(it was an unspoken rule, after all, to avoid garlic on dates!)
"--now, now."
he waved his elegant hand in a dismissive gesture as he canted his head owlishly, beak pulled into a mischievous little smile, taloned foot reaching under the table, casually sliding up the side of blitzø's boot; there was no hiding his intents, though oddly enough, the conversation about their personal preferences (outside the bedroom, no less!) felt rather intimate despite the semi-public setting. for once, it didn't feel like all eyes were on them, watching and judging.
(even so, let them judge.)
"I've shared my little secret, now it's your turn. is there anything you really dislike, or can't eat, my darling?"
somehow this getting-to-know-each-other chat was starting to rouse him almost as much as blitz's notorious dirty talk; now, if he could get him to whisper his favourite foods in his ears ... the owl prince could already fantasise about feeding him straight from his talons, preferably draped luxuriously across his lap, and letting him dote on him, idly stroke his horns--
(oh, but he was getting too ahead of himself! he did wonder when it would be acceptable to drag him off to one of those lavish private booths ozzie's was infamous for.)
Those all sounded like really good options. What the hell was he gonna choose?
The imp’s brows perked up with Stolas’ next hushed comment, suppressing his natural urge to groan. This was the place to openly flirt, and be intimate. He had to remind himself of what was on the line, should he not provide the Goetia a good time in and out of the sheets.
“….Yeeah, well somethin’ tells me you’d be too shy for me to crawl under the table and rip open those fancy pants you’re wearing~”
Which, was technically something he could do. It would be far from the first time someone received an under-the-table blowie—Blitzø wouldn’t be surprised if they had lube bottles down there for convenience.
Blitz’s expression is slightly mixed, but not betraying his overall enjoyment of their banter.
His clawed fingers accept the drink eagerly, drinking it down in just a few gulps; the waitress didn’t even get a chance to walk off before the empty glass was clattering away on top of her serving tray. He calls for another one with a pleasant smirk before returning his attention to Stolas.
“So, you can’t eat cheese, huh? That’s pretty damn awful. What else can’t you eat?”
#ultio angelus#[whooops not me replying terribly late but i hope you don't mind!!]#[i am living for these two doing things backwards lmao]

Let me tell you all about Rinne Berlinetta (Vivid Strike)
Rinne Berlinetta is the adopted daughter of Dan and Lori Berlinetta, owners of the Berlinetta Enterprise, a fashion and jewelry company. Before this adoption went though Rinne was originally an orphan, and a rather shy and naive one at that. She avoided conflict, easily frightened, and her biggest worry was filling her stomach with snacks. Her life wasn’t too hard, but it was a lonely one. At least until got close to another child at the orphanage, Fuka, who protected her from bullies and gave Rinne a sturdy shoulder to cry on. Overall, Rinne’s life was peaceful.
However, one day she met an older gentleman while playing with the other orphans, Roy Berlinetta. On a whim the man decided to buy the orphans drinks, but noting Rinne, a girl that very much looked like his own daughter with her white hair and purple eyes, decided to later convinced his daughter, Rinne future foster mother, to adopt Rinne.
From that day one, Rinne went from living in a poor church orphanage to a luxurious mansion with a loving family. It seemed like a fairy tale. Being adopted by a loving and wealthy family, going to school with people that enjoyed her company, and soon learning she had a very high aptitude for sports and athletics, becoming the desired star of every sports and martial arts club in school. Her foster grandfather’s health was slowly taking a turn for the worst, but he was slowly recovering. All in all, her life was truly going well.
However... that wasn’t to be the end of Rinne’s story.
No, reality is sadly a lot crueler than that. Being the adopted daughter of a wealthy family, Rinne was almost immediately the victim of intense bullying from the Combat Club of her school. They saw her as an arrogant brat that had gotten a swelled head just for having rich parents and a strong body. And so she was targeted. Her desk scratched up, her shoes shredded and tattered, and she was even stalked and tormented in even the bathroom. Never having a moment’s peace.
But Rinne never fought back. Only when a gift from her beloved grandfather, a diamond tiepin, was threatened did she speak up and struggle. However, that reaction only made them target her further. In the end she stopped wearing it, wanting to keep the one gift of her ailing grandfather safe from harm, taking the bullying without ever speaking up about it, not wanting to burden her parents with something that felt like trivial complaining. This went one for months.
Until the bullies finally apologized and said they went too far. It seemed the months of torture without seeing Rinne fight back left them feeling guilty. They apologized, saying they regretted being jealous of Rinne’s status and going so far. And Rinne, being the kind girl she is, happily decided to let it all be water under the bridge. She even felt confident enough to wear her tiepin again soon after. And to make thing better, her grandfather said his health was getting better, soon being able to go out on walks and finally see travel the town with his beloved granddaughter. Things were looking up.
But... well...
It was a tricked. A cruel trick of faking an apology so Rinne would bring the one thing that she’d react to if taken. A low blow, but the last straw for Rinne was being held against her will, even knocked out during a critical moment for her grandfather’s health taking a turn for the worst.
She was forced to miss her Grandfather’s last moments. This left Rinne absolutely heartbroken. The day before her grandfather had said he'd be able to go out on walks in a bit, would be able to enjoy the outside air with his granddaughter just like on the day they first met. But... it wasn’t to be. Rinne was left to believe that she was the cause of her grandfather’s death, that in his last moments in this world he was desperately fighting to see her face one last time, only for Rinne to fail him, to not use the strength she had to stand up for herself and stop what hindered her.
And then, Rinne broke.
She ended the antics of her bullies the day after, being forced to transfer schools as a result of her violence. Everything was settled out of court, but the families of the bullies, the brothers specifically, weren’t please with their sisters suffering while this rich girl with seemingly supernatural strength went free.
So they could matters into their own hands. However...
Enter Jill Stola, a former MMA fighter and trainer of the Frontier Gym. She happened to see Rinne’s kidnapping and decided to save her.
Only for Rinne to save herself soon after. But after hearing Jill’s profession Rinne asks to be trained. Not for self-defense, as she had demonstrated she was physically strong enough to keep herself safe, but to never feel weak again. To never feel she’ll lose something precious to her due to hesitating. To never have people look down her ever again. To feel like she’s strong for once in her life.
Now, Jill is an interesting character herself in terms of her philosophies as a coach and her beliefs in combat sports, but for now I’ll just say Jill had an inkling of what Rinne was feeling and figured she could use Rinne’s sadness and pain. That she could mold it into something pure and bright like a diamond. So she trained Rinne. She trained Rinne until she threw up and made get up and train some more, wanting to make her into a champion. To let her feel strong by standing on top of the fighting circuit as a World Champion.
But all this did was turn Rinne’s sadness into bloodlust. She didn’t so much fight as she took her anger out on her opponents. Channeled all her hatred into her fists and looked down those who lost to her. She hated weakness, and she hated those who were weaker than her. People that didn’t have anything to lose, people that didn’t fight for anything but fun and competition. To her, they were ignorant to how cruel the world could be needed to be brought down to earth and reality. And for all her training and accolades, Rinne hated martial arts. She hated them with a fierce passion. She only felt she used them to prove she was better than those she defeated, and she was on a downward spiral as she looked down on those that lacked skill and ability as weaklings that needed to leave the sport and leave her sight.
Enter Fuka Reventon, a childhood friend of Rinne from orphanage and street fighter turned martial artist. Seeing Rinne’s descent into depression and cruelty, she had enough of Rinne’s condescending behavior. Seeing the kind and gentle Rinne turn into a violent and cruel monster for seeming no reason, and seeing her have this almost self-loathing toward weakness, she decided to join a local gym, train herself to be competitively fit for combat, and face Rinne in the ring. If Rinne wouldn’t snap out of it with words, then Fuka’s fists would have to do.
Now, to not spoil things too far, I’ll just say they both had that big fight, and both come out the better for it. Rinne finally lets go of her past, gains an appreciation for martial arts, and goes back to her coach to train with earnest ambitions to become a champion.
So... Why Talk about This?
Well, I decided to rewatch the show again. Honestly, this month’s be a bit of a downer and I needed a quick action fix to perk me up. Vivid Strike is one of my go-to anime for that sort of thing, so I watched it for what’s probably the fourth time since its airing. I... came out appreciating this series a lot more than I thought I would. I talked about it three years ago here.
In that opinion piece I said that this was a fine sports anime, but had a bad story, focusing too much on the antagonist than the protagonist. I... take that back as of now. Looking back I was harsher on this show than I should had been in general. I still stand by that this show focused more on Rinne than Fuka, but I’ll also say that’s probably the point.
This is a spin-off the Nanoha series, and while I'm not familiar with that series I’ve done a bit of research and learned that Nanoha always focuses more on their antagonist than their protagonist, as the theme of the series is that evil tends to be misunderstood and can come to the light side if an open hand is waiting to accept them. Power of Friendship and all that.
And in my older and (hopefully) wiser age of 26, I feel like I should try and update my opinions and stances on things, especially the things I love. Vivid Strike is on the list of anime I watch for my action fixes, along with Absolute Duo, Armed Girl’s Machiavellism, and History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi. But when I rewatch these series I usually find something more than just a lot of punching, like with Rinne here. I felt I should talk about it for a bit, talk about Rinne. So... here we are.
And really, just reading back on my original thoughts made me scowl a little at my past self for not grasping the main theme of this show, something I’m more acute to nowadays. I wanted to correct myself here with this little... character study of sorts. If you want to get into this series then it’s on Amazon Prime. It’s good show, and especially so if you aren’t familiar with Nanoha mythos, as Vivid Strike only has a handful of nods and references too it that you won’t need to know.
Actually, I did have a small draft of a Nanoha Vivid opinion piece in the works, so I’ll get to work on that next.
Anyway, I’ll see you folks later.

JellyBlitzo - ✏️ to catch my muse doodling
| vulnerable meme
The job of killing of the so called wrong doers of the sinners he often had to listen to did come with the benefit of getting to hear some interesting stories, grant most of it was the usual boring whine and moans of how they didn’t do anything wrong but hey sometimes what he heard was a good bit of entertainment. Stolas was clearly missing out rather watch the the drama of his soap opera. Who needed what was her name? Gabby or somethin’? No uh Gabrielle? Yes that was it. When they could get the act dirt and dish from sinners compliments. But other times? Eh it was just annoying listening to whine and such sure smirking and making it clear he didn’t care for the sob stories they were spinning was also some god fun on his end. Least it kept them coming back and well something for the imp to talk about later. But man did it wear on him to have to listen so much.
So he didn’t mind all that much getting to just sit down outside Stolas’ place, was weird not having to sneak around so much thinking about it now should he be more concerned on being so out and about like this? Wouldn’t his wife blow her tits off..was Stolas still married? What about his kid? Blitz quirked his lips a bit sitting on his side of the table. As he thought about that all was one thing when the sinner demon spun tales with similarities to this whole thing between he and Stolas. It was fun to laugh at them but put himself there and suddenly it wasn’t funny, glancing up to Stolas now they were busy. But..a lot of those thoughts faded away as he did. Eyes looking back to the table now he had starting a string of drawing on a piece of paper well Stolas was wrapping up in he garden. Mostly a variety of horses he made up on the spot along with random names to go with each one.
When he found himself sketching lines to a more familiar heart-shaped face. Shifting back and forth between his page and to Stolas themself as he was drawing out their face. Lost to nothing just the motion and focus he was trying to put into it right now, going on to draw out their eyes. He was thinking about how wide they get sometimes, how Stolas let out a soft red glow from them at times even. How soft their smile would get, not that fake one he hated the one they would force so often. The more relaxed on where the corners of his beak were curl up and if being pulled back to come across as a simple charming grin. The one that Stolas aimed at the imp-like when they laughed or called out that stupid nickname they gave him that he loved. He could see it so clearly in his mind
He wanted to see it more. It wasn't one he saw on thier face often which was kind of a shame. When Stolas did smile like that something about him just kind of changed.
The light over his paper was overcast now, Blitz lift a brow up before tipping his head back at first assuming it was clouds or something blocking out the light only to come to find Stolas. Standing from behind him trying to look at what the imp had been busy doing. Musing over the horses they were able to see from where they stood.. Blitz watching thier eyes trailing over the page as they started to learn over thier shoulder somewhat for a better look. The imp grunted a bit as feathers were up in his face now. Face turned to the side as he choked up feathers.
"For crying out loud if you wanna look just say it!" he snap as he moved out of the way a bit and grabbed the page from the table he nearly enough shoved it in against the Prince's chest. Turning to sit sidewise in his seat to avoid any more feathers getting shoved up into his face right now. Resting an elbow to the table as he kept his gaze down to the ground now, well aware they would see what he was drawing just moments before they interrupted him. "I only draw what I like" he murmured a little now letting the tip of his boot touch the ground as he kicked at it. "You know like the horses..and other things that are nice."
Hand slapping to his face, that was lame to say. "Like your face" he went on to say, it was easy when he wasn't meaning it to talk like this. or maybe it was just Stolas. "When you smile like that. It's a good one you know? when you really smile not your dumb pompous one either where you getting all hoity-toity" he waved a hand around as he spoke more making fun of the way the owl sometimes moved thier hands around like when giving speeches as he did it. "I like when you have the one you aim at me, it's different." Special. Part of why he didn't want to say anything about it, was because what if mentioning that Stolas did smile at him as they did? was something they didn't know they did themself. And now that they did...they might stop?
Peaking over his shoulder he could see the corners of thier mouth starting to move up into the soft relaxed curve he adored so much and turned back away from them. Maybe he didn't need to worry about that smile going away. Smirking a bit before hoping up to stand on the chair as he started to grab at the paper and take it back from the owl "now give that back bitch I ain't done drawing you're interrupting my artistic flow awing over it all like that."
