Been thinking about Sonic and Tails and how after a few years the two of them finally feel comfortable enough to start treating each other in that mean way that only siblings can be.

He’d never joke if it was something serious- but whenever Tails gets a wound like a scratch or a bruise Sonic will give it a long, hard look while clicking his tongue and say, “I’m sorry bud, but we’re gonna have to amputate :(“ and Tails will magically pull out a hacksaw saying ‘bet’ and Sonic has to wrestle it away from him.

It’s hot outside and Sonic is too lazy to get his own drink so he stands there begging Tails to let him have a quick sip of his:

Sonic: pls just one sip and I’ll give it back

Tails: …5 seconds and that’s it

So Tails gives him the drink and Sonic is being dramatic like “thank you so much bro this means a lot to me”. And Tails stands there watching as Sonic slurps down the rest of his drink until theres nothing left and his brother hands him the empty cup back like “that hit the spot thanks dude :)”. Tails looks down at the empty cup in his hand then back at Sonic and he just full force smashes the cup to the side of his head, water and ice just splashing everywhere.

Tails is working in his lab and every time Sonic goes to visit him and catch up he will always ALWAYS leave the door open when he leaves. Tails will yell at him to leave it closed and Sonic never listens, he’ll just stand there in the door and go 🤷‍♂️ until Tails chases him around the house. Sometimes Tails will legitimately just lock the door and Sonic will scratch outside like a dog kicked out of its home.

Tails is throwing a tantrum and just being particularly snarky and Sonic will always say stupid stuff like:

Sonic: “I literally gave birth to you???”

Tails: “Mf no you did not ☠️”

They make a bet about who can embarrass the other the most in front of strangers. They’re out getting ice cream or something and Sonic is letting Tails choose a flavor at the front, and the worker is talking to them like “how nice that your brother is taking you out for ice cream”. Tails look up at her with a big smile and says, “It sure is. It’s the first time this month since he’s let me out of the house. I’ll have to enjoy this while I can!! 🥹”. The lady looks horrified and Sonic grabs Tails by the scruff of his neck and tries to de-escalate the situation.

Sonic: ahahaaa wowie!!! Kids sure do say the funniest things am I right?? 😁

They’re out shopping and it’s kinda busy and so Tails slips away while his brother is preoccupied and leaves to go do his own thing. An hour passes by and Sonic has already left when Tails sends him a message saying “You forgot me in the store :(“ Sonic goes through the 100 stages of grief before sprinting back and freaking out thinking he’s the worst brother ever and Tails has already been at home waiting for him to get back just to laugh in his face.

Sonic is hyping up Tails to their fans and he playfully ruffles his head and goes, “Yep! He just learned how to tie his own shoes, I’m hoping that he’ll learn his alphabets soon enough. ☺️” and Tails dies on the inside bc now all these people think he’s a second grader.

i have a character who’s a 4th degree burn survivor (modern fantasy setting, she survived thanks to a mix of healing magic and modern medicine). she’s left handed, and the left side of her body is the side that got burned. she still uses it afterwards, even though her doctors told her not to. she’s a swordswoman and is a very reckless fighter, and fights so hard sometimes that parts of her scars tear and bleed. i was wondering if i should remove or change this? i initially added it to show her self destructive tendencies and how little she cares about herself compared to how much she cares about her friends and family

Hey,

first thing I will address is one of the main characteristics of fourth degree burns is that they lead to the loss of the burnt part because of how deep they go (possibly to bone). If amputation doesn't happen, there's still severely damaged muscles and literally burnt off nerves.

What I'm getting at is that if she has the hand still, there's a high chance it's not functional enough to do that, depending on how much of the arm was damaged. If it's just the hand, then maybe she could wear orthotics or a hand stabilizer to keep her hand on the sword. But if her nerves don't work from the shoulder down, I just don't see how it would work exactly. Now to the actual question.

The thing with the "disabled but Pushes Through!!" concept that happens a lot to the "cool" disabled characters is that it really isn't quite as simple as just Pushing Through. Can you ignore some ankle pain to get to work on time? Sure, probably. Can you hold something in an arm with fried nerves? Good luck*.

*- If your arm has ever completely fallen asleep, imagine trying to hold a heavy object and swing it around. It's not a question of Pushing Through, it's borderline impossible because the only thing your hand is willing to do is tingle. And that's a... very light version of what nerve damage like that actually is.

If her arm was severely burned, she either got plastic surgery and then underwent rigorous physical and occupational therapy, or she has contractions in every joint that has scars on it. You can't just ignore the fact that your muscles are too tight to expand. They won't suddenly work if you just get angry at them enough, otherwise a lot of people with cerebral palsy wouldn't need surgeries for their joints and muscles being overly tight.

The thing is, "not caring about oneself but caring a lot about their loved ones" is an incredibly common profile for people with acquired disabilities and, at least from the ones that I know, none have managed to just ignore their disability because of it. So what could you show for it to make more sense;

She lies about feeling better than she actually is to not worry her friends and family.

She doesn't want to talk about the subject and how serious it is to not feel infantilized or "useless" to her loved ones.

She does actually try to push through her pain, and just fucking can't. Maybe grits her teeth to try and manages to get the sword off the ground with her burnt hand but drops it before it can make contact with the training dummy. Maybe she'd be doing this alone so that her friends don't see her like this.

She wants to do everything by herself, without her family's help. And she kinda does, but it takes forever - dressing up, doing her hair, everything drags. Putting a shirt suddenly takes half an hour to get on because any unnecessary skin contact hurts like hell and she has to take a break every time it happens.

Her family and friends use the fact that she cares more about them than herself and actually help her with her recovery. If she's self-destructive, then physical therapy meant to help herself is probably not at the top of her mind, but maybe someone that she cares about a lot could talk her into it.

The Pushing Through backfires (as it really often does!!!!!!) and she has more physical problems rather than getting to ignore them. She heals slowly, keeps getting infections, repetitive strain injuries from trying to do the same thing over and over with severely damaged muscles, everything is sore all the time. Maybe she ends up at a point where she needs others' help with daily functioning, feels bad about it (also happens a lot), and tries to actually recover to be independent with her family and friends' help.

Her friends try to make her feel better about her no longer being as independent and get her some assistive devices to help her with it. Some don't work, some are a bit niche, one or two are complete game-changers. Maybe she doesn't initially want them but gets hit with the "well, I want you to have it" and grudgingly accepts because she cares about her friend too much to make them upset.

Hope these suggestions make sense for the character and help with writing her somewhat.

The general point is that it would be more productive to show her dealing with her injury as a well, acquired disability, rather than just a feature to show the character's personality through.

Disability is disabling, and it's really hard to actually do the "Doing X Despite The Disability" when you aren't able to do it. Some disabled people eventually manage to get there, or get close, but it takes a ton of time and effort rather than just ignoring their disability's existence. Can an abled person pole vault 6 meters? Some could if they invest a ton of time and effort, but it's not going to magically happen if they were to just decide to ignore gravity. It just doesn't work this way.

Proship basically means "ship and let ship" because fiction is not reality, so it stands for anti-harassment of artists/writers/shippers of whatever ship. That includes the most problematic, dumpsterfire, nuclear waste ship you can think of, but is not limited to that.

Also, a common misconception is that "proship" means that you yourself like problematic ships, but that doesn't have to be the case. You can ALSO not be into/dislike problematic ships. You just count as proship when you don't police the ships of others, mind your own business and don't stand for harassment over fiction, not when you ship problematic stuff yourself. You can be into the most toxic, abusive problematic ship you can think of and still somehow be an anti when it comes to ships you don't like (sorry billford and soushin brethren shippers but a lot of y'all are catching some strays from me).

So when people say "proship DNI" or something along those lines, what they're actually saying is "please block me if you don't stand for that harassment and mistreatment of people I consider bad actors and accuse them of being bad people irl for their problematic fictional ships" but what they THINK they're saying is "please block me if you ship (or endorse cuz antis typically can't differentiate reality and fiction) problematic ships". That mistake annoys me to no ends, but with how common that misinfo is in fandoms, I don't fully blame people for think they're the same. Kinda. More on that never.

warnings :: reader gets injured, kinda short… but that’s it

carl grimes x reader

you and carl often went over the walls. be it for some time with just the two of you, no worries about being interrupted by his dad or michonne or judith. the only worry being the walker’s roaming the woods, but the two of you would rather take your chances there.

he leans his bag of, most likely expired, candy to you. his eyes don’t leave his comic and his head is on your shoulder, just enjoying being near you. ironically enough it feels calm, normal, despite the looming threat of the walking dead lingering. you take some and toss them into your mouth, letting your hand go up to take his hat off and place it on your head.

he hums when your fingers comb through his hair, head tilting up to look at you. he lets out an endeared laugh at the sight of you wearing his hat, “i wish i had a camera with me.” you tilt your head at him and giggle,

“why?” his hand comes up to your face, thumb rubbing your cheek soothingly.

“i don’t get to capture moments like these often,” he mumbles lowly, looking at your lips before giving them a small peck. you go to protest, to make him give you a proper one when a growl from behind you interrupts.

your heads turn at the noise, a small herd of maybe six walkers headed your way. you look at carl to see him shoveling your things back into the chest he had. “think we can take ‘em?”

carl stands up with a small laugh, taking his hat back. “oh yeah.” he slides his knife from his belt, charging at one and shoving the knife through it’s skull. you cringe at the gurgling noise it makes before thudding to the ground, you’ll never get used to the noises, the smells.

you run to help him, taking down one with ease. it was barely hanging on, it’s stomach was ripped apart, everything falling out that made you want to gag. a second one tries to creep behind you but fails, receiving a blade to the eye. but that’s when things get tricky.

you hear carl grunt behind you, whipping around to see him on the ground topped by a, bigger than usual, walker. you yank it off of him, falling to the ground under it’s weight. you hear a nasty crunch and don’t have time to dwell on the pain in your left arm, plunging your knife into the back of it’s head.

you use your right arm to haul the thing off of you, breathing heavily on the ground as he takes the last two easier. he rushes to your side, frantically checking you for injuries. he lifts your left arm a little too fast, eliciting a whined from you.

“shit, it hurts? were you bit? we need to amputate it,” carl breaths heavily as his words fall from his lips with panic. he starts ripping fabric from his shirt when your hand comes up to stop him.

“slow your roll, cowboy. i’m not bit, i think i broke my arm pretty bad though.” carl sighs and let’s his hands fall, giving you a short, humorless laugh.

“you better not be,” he huffs, lifting you up bridal style. “i’ll do everything in my power to keep you safe. i’d risk it all for you.”

“how romantic,” you laugh and wrap your right arm around his back, “and i broke my arm, not my legs!”

carl shushes you, “let me be a good boyfriend, hm?”

Just Some Guy

Humans have a bizarre take on what is truly specular human behavior, and what is just a human having fun.

.  .  .

If you ask a human, any human, about the incredible physical feats achieved by this race you will notice a common trend. They will respond with stories about trained professionals. Such as the doctor who removed his own internal organ.

Or a group of the first space explorers whose ship had basically shut down but still made it back to earth.

Or the crafty officer who brought down one of the most violent and corrupt criminals.

Or the countless soldiers who jump on explosives to save their comrades and don’t die.

They will nod solemnly and talk about these trained professional’s bravery, and how this is what the race aspires to be. Smart, caring, brave, and unflinching in the face of extreme, or even deadly, odds.

But if dig a little deeper you’ll find other fascinating stories, such as mothers and fathers who risk their lives, or even die, for their children.

“Those are their kids? What are they supposed to do, let them get hurt or killed? All decent people will help protect a kid, and that’s just quantified when its your kid.”

Or older siblings who save the lives of their younger siblings:

“Hey, being the eldest is serious business! Of course you gotta protect the younger ones!”

Seemingly frail elder humans who won’t let themselves to be a victim.

“Ya know, its not that common, but its also not that unheard of. Made respect to them. Makes you wonder what they did when they were younger.”

Or strangers who will defend others.

“Well, those punks were being a bully. Of course she’s going to do something. She looked hella cool doing it too.” There are stories of humans fighting animals to saved beloved pets or people.

“You don’t mess with a man’s dog. And again, its kinda biologically ingrained in us to help kids.”

Aside from bravery, there are tales of humans surviving incredible misfortunes- getting struck by lighting or falling from great heights, to having to amputate parts of their own limbs to being nearly cut in half to having their head impaled.

“Okay, those are all very extreme examples, and things like this don’t happen often.”

Then there are the humans who seem to not be human at all. They perform all sorts of physically demanding, very carefully practiced, and very impractical stunts.

“Oh, yeah,” humans will say. “That’s just their special interest. They’ve practiced for hours to do that. Super cool. But its just some guy living his best life.”

Humans will not understand, no matter how you present it, how utterly unlike any other species they are.  A human doing an unusual feat is ‘just some guy’ and not a human that has honed a very specific skill.

Humans are very odd. Do not underestimate them.

Hello all! Its been a hot minute, but I’m back. Hope you enjoy this slightly different style of writing!

Quite often I think about how the crew would have realistically looked after 5 months of being stranded. How each character would have altered their uniform for comfort or practicality, outgrown and uncombed hair, beards and stubble, Daisuke’s roots growing out, everyone looking overall sickly, things like that. You put a lot of thought into how you design the characters, so I was curious about what you thought

hmmmm thats fun! here are some notes i think id make on the crew and their deterioration. whether or not they are realistic...well i havent done any research, this is all vibes based.

curly: well hes been degloved so thats one thing to note. ive been tossing and turning what exactly happened to curly. ive been just kinda going along with the consensus of hes badly burnt and just being vague. but i wonder if the foam also came into play, especially with his amputations and such. its strong enough to seal off the vacuum of space so? i do think he has Some skin left on the left side of his torso from his coveralls, but still not in good shape. other notes i could make would be i do think his other eye has been removed due to damage/infection by anya. and i like to note that his more severe wounds are on his right side. i think curly bit his tongue off or partially off during the crash. hes also opioid dependent and when he gets shifted to the back up meds his body suffers seriously due to withdrawal and pain from existing and he can hardly keep food down, losing even more weight.

anya: i think anya has hair on the finer side, so itd be stringy as hell when greasy. i dont think shed keep up the charade of keeping up appearances at all after the crash, shes incredibly busy and stressed, her hair is unstyled, but hand combed to avoid tangles. however she already has dark eyes and dark circles so not much changes there for me, altho shes stopped wearing any makeup due to no access to her things. i think sometimes she takes her coverall top off to be in her sweater, and sometimes in the lounge, removes her sandals to be just in her socks. at night shes always fully clothed no matter how sweaty she gets. i think anyas appetite is all sorts of fucked, and shes prone to getting morning sickness, so i think shes had the most amount of weight loss (excluding curly). she just looks hollow and tired. i think her fingernails are Gone. chewed to the bed. and it stresses her out she doing something unsanitary but pica be pica-ing. she also chews and swallows the ends of her hair. no one comments on this development.

swansea: swanseas the only guy you can actually See get worse for wear after months and its always harrowing seeing his ruddy face and stained shirt. you can see how far off the deep end hes jumped. swansea strikes me as the guy who cant grow solid facial hair so any hairs on his face are gray/light and patchy. he always looks damp, hes sweating a lot, and later on hes covered in his own sweat, vomit, and mouthwash. i think daisuke tries to corral him and get his shirt clean when it gets bad, but its a toss up if hes in an agreeable enough mood to allow daisuke to help him, in which case hes chilling shirtless until daisuke comes running back with his now slightly clean, but wet shirt. i think hes the only person whos gained weight during the crash, altho that is in no way a good thing and is more of a tell tale sign hes killing himself from the mouthwash. i think he has sleep apnea and has a cpap, so without it, hes incredibly sleep deprived, but hes used to it from pony express sleep shifts.

daisuke: as hes the guy with the freshest id card photo, taken likely right before they left, you can see his roots already growing out. a lot of the blond has grown and been cut off, and a lot of whats left is faded due to time and hair washing. after the crash, he still brushes his hair with his hands and washes it the best he can with sink water occasionally, even cutting it. i think hes also got some stubble going, but shaves it when it starts bugging him with assistance from the others. but hes got a lot of energy, he spends a lot taking care of his appearance, and he looks the best out of everyone, especially at the start, and then later after sobering. i think daisuke, being in charge of the food, feels a bit of a burden for eating a lot and cuts back. he looses some weight, mostly in his muscle and some of his chubbiness, but retains a softness about him, especially with swansea telling him to properly eat his share of rations. he takes care of his clothes. if he feels sweaty, hell take his nice shirt off, and if thats too much still, hell take his pony express shirt off as well to make sure it doesnt get stinky (as fast).

jimmy: hes self centered i think hes been focusing on keeping up appearances and has managed to shave a few times. i think daisuke made a comment on how thick his beard was growing in like his id card and he stole a scalpel to spend the next chunk of time shaving (and bleeding). he has lots of gray hairs coming in lately, and hes let his hair grow out. hes went from lean to thin but looks about the same due to his already baggy clothing choices, and i think hes upset hes sweaty and stinky and that his hair is greasy and messy. his white undershirt looks like shit due to sweat and being white, so he doesnt take his coverall top off. in fact, i dont think hes ever disrobed since the crash, to keep up appearances that hes unshakable.

I’d love to interpret bkdk as romantic but I will be honest, it is difficult to do when a het ship is being hinted at more explicitly. I’m still glad Horikoshi did not include a full-on confession though. We can do what we want in fics without having to rework canon.

I know this ask was originally meant for someone else, and you’re absolutely right that bakuhatsufallinlove does fantastic meta. You’re very wise to see how great of a job they do and it’s kind of you to say so. It’s also very kind of you to read my posts.

I’m about to not be quite so kind.

I hate Izuocha. And I’m annoyed by the insinuation that Ochako breaking down in tears over Himiko to Izuku - her big moment of bearing her emotions out in the open to him - is seen as an endgame romance, especially since the only other detail we have to go off of is Ochako smiling at Izuku in their hero suits when Todoroki is kinda doing the same thing, AND when I should DAMN WELL hope Ochako and Izuku are still friends and looking out for each other, especially since they bonded over the traumatic deaths of those they failed to save.

I’m insulted that Ochako’s confessions to Himiko are disregarded like that, or the tumultuous chaos she grapples with in her heart is brushed aside. I’m insulted by the insinuation that Ochako’s known love of seeing happy, smiling people is not acknowledged and instead her expressing joy over seeing that on Izuku’s face is painted over as being implied, for-sure romantic endgame. Maybe it is, sure. Anything is possible. I’m sure Himiko wants the best for Ochako and for her to be happy, and would probably think it was romantic that her feelings also reached Izuku by way of Ochako as being someone they mutually loved.

But Himiko is dead and it ripped Ochako apart, and her reaction to that is the last in-depth look we get at her feelings. Izuku recognizing that Ochako is a hero in her own right (not a heroine, aka a damsel for the hero to save and then end up with romantically per Japanese storytelling roles, not just “a female hero” like we think of it in English) is gratifying and wonderful. And I’m insulted by the insinuation that just because Izuku acknowledges that Ochako is and has been his hero and always saved him that this must mean that they are implied to be the romantic endgame. God forbid they mutually admire each other and respect each other and the story just ends there, and god forbid Izuku calling her his hero sends a totally different message.

Now, as for Katsuki. You cannot tell me that he doesn’t have some kind of deep feelings for Izuku. @bakuhatsufallinlove has posted extensively about unspoken feelings with a likewise unspoken understanding are common for Japanese romances, but I’ll admit I’m not here to talk about that.

Do you really want to tell me that Horikoshi-sensei allowing Katsuki and Izuku to keep their arms and have an implied handhold at the end doesn’t mean as much as whatever the fuck Ochako is doing in the final panel?

In Naruto, which BNHA takes many cues from, Sasuke and Naruto had their arms ripped off because the editor didn’t approve of the two of them holding hands in panel. Apparently, that’s too romantic and inappropriate for the male leads of a shonen. Given that, how interesting that the doctor recommended that Katsuki’s hand-holding arm be amputated. How interesting that Katsuki refuses. How interesting that Katsuki refuses while thinking not just of All Might, probably not really of All Might, but Izuku. How interesting that Izuku also keeps both arms, and we as readers are very certain they held hands even if it is not shown.

How interesting that Katsuki is not just the heart of Izuku’s mech suit project (and, in some respects, of the class,) but of Izuku’s image of victory, Izuku’s “Pro Hero with a quirk” origin, the heart of what he believes a real hero is like, and the literal actual heart of what he wanted to defend from ShigAFO multiple times over. How interesting that Katsuki’s story is in part him learning how to not be a burden to Izuku or used against him like, say, a heroine-damsel-in-distress might be used, AND it is also in part him learning to come to terms with his feelings for Izuku. In fact, we spend basically the whole manga dwelling on this with him. It’s that important that he reconciled Izuku with his heart and desires.

Izuku, who is so tearfully happy that Katsuki wants to be with him for the rest of their lives in whatever form that takes, even when they weren’t sure he was going to have a quirk and be able to be Katsuki’s superhero rival. Izuku, who is so happy to be with Kacchan and the class as a hero again, in part BECAUSE it is with Kacchan………….and everyone else on the next page.

Nothing is for sure. Nobody kissed or got married or whatever, sure. But you really want to tell me Izuocha is more heavily implied based on the ending?

Post totk Lu Wild concept where he comes back to the group six years later with one less arm, a magic rock, and even more patches added to his champions tunic. Also I wanted to add concepts for what the light bow and arrow would look like when made with parts from the light dragon, since light arrows are infinite and appear in the bow when it’s being drawn, so that would make it easier for a single armed Wild to still participate in archery, he just has to use his teeth to draw it back.

Someone had to inherit Mineru’s secret stone, and we all know how I’m a fan of giving it to Link. Also I hate the way the batteries are clumped together in the game so I changed it. The flames are based on poes and the other beaded waist part is made of dragon parts, they have a minor healing effect.

The bottom of Wilds tunic embroidery is based on the astral observatory and the master sword room in the master sword trials, where all around the room there are landmarks from Hyrule pointing where they are on the map. So I wanted to have the post totk floating Hyrule castle as the main thing, mostly because it looks cool and bc I wanted Wilds perspective to be from the great plateau kinda. Anyway I worked hard to make it recognizable lmao.

One more thing I want to bring up is the new golden sleeve(s), the one(s) that Ganondorf burned off, replaced by fabric made of the light dragons hair. I just thought it would be neat and I feel like she would shed after not having her hair brushed in thousands of years. It glows in the dark and helps with the pain management in his amputated arm.

Edit: I forgot to mention but the placement of the secret stone is also something I thought about. I realized that since the other members of the triforce had their secret stones aligned with the center of their body (forehead, chest) I figured that it would make sense for Link to have his following the same rule. So I decided on his belt. Otherwise, it would've been lower on his chest, maybe where the triforce would be on his master sword embroidery but I didn't want to crowd the space too much and I really wanted to doodle that part to my heart's content lmao. The belt just seemed a little bare so it made sense to me lol.

You had gotten injured on a mission and had a pretty nasty, deep cut on your thigh.

Not to worry, Donnie’s first-aid in on the way. So there you were in his lab as Donnie observed the cut through his goggles.

“Yeah, that’s gonna need stitches…”

Your stomach dropped, your horror evident as you squeezed your boyfriends hand. “Stitches?…with, like, a needle? No way!”

Leo

“What? Are you scared?~” Leo teased (fucking idiot), laughing a little bit.

“No! I am-” Your stomach flipped and your breathing hitched as Donnie pulled out a special needle and thread from his kit, images of it piercing your skin filled your mind. “Oh god…I can’t do it.”

“Relax! You’re in good hands!“ You looked up at Leo horrified at his words, before both turning to look at Donnie. “Hey! I’ll have you know-“

“Shhhhh! Y/N, really, you’ll be fiiine just calm down bro!” Leo patted your back. Obviously, this was not helpful. First of all, being told to calm down NEVER soothes anybody, and second he called you ‘bro.’

“Mm-mm. No! No way! Look, it’s-“ you hissed in pain as you gripped your leg to cover your wound, “…fine.”

“Not really, Y/N…” Donnie sighed, threading the needle.

“Yeah! What if it gets infected and we have to like, amputate your leg?” You knew Leo was trying to help, but he really wasn’t. Why the hell would he say that anyway? (fucking idiot)

“No, please! I can’t!” You squirmed trying to get up, desperate.

Leo lightly grabbed your shoulders, trying to gently lay you down on the table, “Relaaaax. I know you’re scared, but I’ll be right here the whole time, I swear. Besides, I’m sure Donnie is gonna numb it or whatever, right?”

Your breathing was extremely uneasy tears spilling from your eyes. “No! Stop.”

Leo grabbed your hand again, squeezing it. “Come on, Donnie, isn’t there anything else you can do?”

Donatello sighed, rubbing his temple. “ I suppose…we could try to just patch it up with some gauze, but I’m not sure it-“

“Great! Then bust out that gauze.” Leo rubbed the back of your hand with his thumb.

He didn’t really show it, but he was extremely worried and did feel a little guilty for not taking you seriously at first. He hated seeing you so distressed because he didn’t really know what to do.

Raph

“Why not?” Raph looked at Donnie and then down at you, he didn’t really understand.

“I just can’t, Raph, please.” You squeezed his hand tightly, your chest was tight and your face went pale at even the thought of having a needle in your arm.

“He has to Y/N, you’re hurt. Tell em’, Donnie.” Raph nudged Donnie and he sighed, a little frustrated.

“Well, Y/N…it could get seriously infected if you

don’t-“ Donnie began to thread the needle.

You began to squirm, trying to get up but Raph gently squeezed your shoulder with his free hand to keep you down, his face wrinkling in concern. “No! I-…I can’t! Stop, please!”

“It’s ok, Y/N. Raph’s right here, no one’s gonna make you.” Raph couldn’t stand to see you so afraid. “Donnie, can’t you just like, put a band-aid on it?”

To which his younger brother raised an eyebrow, a little annoyed, “No, Raphael, I can’t just ‘slap a band-aid on it.’ …but I suppose I could patch it up with some gauze and medical tape.”

“Awesome! See, Y/N, you have nothing to be afraid of.” Raph smiled down at you, trying to be reassuring. He didn’t completely understand, but he did know he wasn’t going to just let you be distraught if there was another solution.

Mikey

“Don’t worry, Donnie’ll take care of you. He’s the best in the business, baby!” Mikey beamed, not realizing what you meant. Donnie smirked at his brothers compliment, nodding a small ‘mhm.’

“No! Really, it’s ok! It’ll, ah! Heal just fine..” You looked down at your leg, the stinging, throbbing pain still surging through it.

“Nuh uh! Come on, Y/N. You’ll be fine!” Michael rubbed your back as Donnie dug through the first-aid kit and pulling out, in your opinion, an un-fairly sized needle and some thread.

You felt undeniably terrified in that moment at the image of being stitched up and having a needle pulled through your skin over and over. The color left your face, your adrenaline rushing. “No! I said no! Mikey, please!”

Mikey frowned, feeling your terror with you. “Uh, Dee…maybe you should just patch them up with some bandage.”

Donnie looked between both of you, before shaking his head, “Alright.”

“Good! No needles. You’re ok, Y/N. I’m right beside you.” Mikey smiled in his usual optimistic way and he put his arm completely around you, but was definitely still saddened. He’d never seen you so frightened before, even when you were attacked to be put in this situation in the first place. He made a mental note of this event for future reference.

Donnie

“Why not?” Donnie furrowed his brows, pushing up his goggles with his free hand, squeezing your hand back in his other one.

“Please. There has to be something else you can do.” You looked at him pleadingly, and he narrowed his eyes, thinking for a second.

“…I don’t know, Y/N. It would be a lot safer to just do stitches. For example, it could get infected, or scar, or-“ He began to thread the needle, tying the end.

“No! Donnie, don’t!” You thrashed around, trying to hastily get up, the pain in your leg worsening at the pressure.

“Y/N, hold still!” Donatello grabbed your arm gently to hold you from standing up. He didn’t comprehend how deep your fear was. “I know it’s scary, just hold on-“

“No! Stop! Get it away from me, I can’t!” You struggled, kicking your feet and tightly gripping his arm. Tears formed in your eyes, your breathing quickening.

Donnie pulled back, dropping the needle back into the kit. He wasn’t expecting that reaction, his eyes softening into concern as he finally realized your genuine terror.

He sighed, a little frustrated but trying to be understanding, “Ok. Alright, how about just some bandage and gauze? Is that ok?”

You nodded, still a little anxious as your hands shook slightly. “Sorry, Donnie…”

“Don’t apologize.” He gently and carefully wrapped the bandage around your leg. He definitely didn’t show it properly, but he did feel bad. He didn’t mean to scare you and if he had known, he wouldn’t have even suggested it. It bothered him to hear how genuinely afraid you were. He would just have to remember for next time, but hopefully there wouldn’t be a next time.
