A:tlA artist's ask
I want to practice digital drawing. Let's make it sort of an artist's ask! You will send me an ask and I will draw the answer.
You can ask me anything like "which character would you like to have as your sibling" or "what pairing makes you think that you are completely insane and terrible but you ship it anyway". But I also prepared a few simple questions about my favorites if you prefer it that way.
You can also ask about LoK. I watched it just once a lot time ago but anyway.

Your kitty is... Harepaw!
Harepaw is a cat from a longer time ago. He was best friends with the cat who everyone knows as Cedarstar.
A small, dark brown tabby tom with bright orange eyes, large ears, and a short tail. He has a sibling named Hazelpelt, who was almost something with Cedarpelt. But that's another story.
He was a little rebel. Shadowclan's political atmosphere was TENSE. Fights with Windclan were ramping up. Cedarpaw, his brother Sandpaw, and their fathers could feel it. But the brothers tried to stay out of the way. Keep quiet, keep your heads down and be good Shadowclan cats...
Harepaw said "Lol, lmao, even.". He was loud, outspoken, and passionate. The Clans needed to be better to each other. Stop treating each other like trash. Houndstar, bless her, she could be so aggressive towards others, she was... Quite blunt. An aquired taste that the other Clans did not take to. The tension was driving harder and deeper.
Harepaw's mentor was Pearstep, the son of Houndstar, grandfather of Lizardstripe. He was a cowardly cat who let his apprentice run his mouth. Harepaw fought to be heard by all. He was getting into Clan politics at a young age, he was determined to at least have the cats of Shadowclan treat others better. Who cares what the Warrior Code says, sometimes you need to be better than the code!
He got Cedarpaw into his message of kindness, generosity... Come on, let's go hunt near that shifting Windclan border, I see a huge rabbit, let's bring it to the elders, they deserve it...
The huge rabbit would turn. It slashed Harepaw's shoulder open, and the poor young cat screamed.
Cedarpaw brought his best friend back to camp, but... It was awful. The cut was deep. Redthistle could only do so much...
The next week would be Harepaw's last. He tried to fight the infection, but herb stocks were low, and Harepaw was so small... He passed from the infection, leaving Cedarpaw devastated. Harepaw's fire had been snuffed out before it could truly burn.
He vowed to carry out Harepaw's message, to at least have Shadowclan treat other cats better. He was flawed, he didn't believe in it as hard as Harepaw had, but he would be more welcoming to outsiders, kind towards cats who called for the newly established Queen's Rights.
It pushed Cedarpelt, and subsequently his brother Sandwhisper, into politics, setting him on his path to leadership, where he would see his friend once more during his Nine Lives Ceremony. Harepaw would give Cedarstar a life for Justice and Integrity.
It's a shame Cedarstar held such a grudge against Heatherstar for killing Hazelpelt too.

Clan: WindClan

Characteristics: distrustful, very protective, hates ThunderClan
Murder Motive: to protect his daughter
Number of Victims: 2
Number of Murders: 2
Murder Method: repeatedly slashing, slicing throat
Known Victims: Beejaw, Snowsight
Victim Profile: his daughter's ThunderClan mate, his daughter
Cause of Death: cheek artery torn, killed by Snowsight
Cautionary Tale: ??
Story:
He did it for her.
She just didn't understand. He couldn't make her understand.
He had been broken by a ThunderClan cat before, a vile she-cat who told him that she loved him, who he gave his heart to, and who shattered it to pieces when he found out that it was all a lie.
He had spent moons dedicating his life to her only to find out that she was merely using him so that she can have kits with her true mate--an infertile male.
The only thing worse than her betrayal was knowing that he had kits with her. Kits that would grow up in that betrayer's Clan, kits that would be raised by another tom as well as that liar. And he couldn't do a thing about it. What could he do? Confess to a cross-Clan relationship? Would it even matter? The kits would surely stay with their mother's Clan. Wolfthrush didn't need the embarrassment anyways. He didn't need everyone to know how easily he had been played a fool.
Instead, he turned his focus on love inside the Clan. That's how he fell for Pondsilk.
He didn't love her as much as he had once loved Woodflake. Perhaps he couldn't trust her enough to. But they were mates, truer in name than he had ever been with Woodflake.
To distract himself from the family just beyond the borders--his family--he spent a lot of time with his new, better love. It wasn't long before together, they had kits. Or kit, rather--a single, beautiful daughter.
She was everything to Wolfthrush.
She was his heart, his world, his entire reason for living.
Is it without reason that he would do anything to protect her?
It was late one night when he woke to find her missing. Worried that she was hurt somewhere, he set out to find her, and saw her meeting with a ThunderClan tom at the exact same spot he used to meet Woodflake.
He was tricking her!
He was playing her for a fool!
Hadn't ThunderClan taken enough from their family?
No, he wouldn't make Snowsight go through the same pain as Wolfthrush had.
It was with far more emotion that logic that moved him. Defensiveness that made him run. Rage that made him lift his claws. Fear that made him lash out, over and over. Sorrow that made him wail as he did it.
And it was with shock that he looked to his horrified daughter.
Snowsight
Tumblr media
Aliases / Nicknames: Darling Daughter
Gender: she-cat
Sexuality: polysexual
Family: Pondsilk (mother), Wolfthrush (father), unnamed half-siblings, Sunthorn (grandfather), Airglint (great-grandmother), Dustleaf, Snowburn (great-grandaunts), Snailmask, Coneleaf (great-great-grandfathers)
Other Relations: Wolfthrush (mentor)
Clan: rogue, WindClan (formerly)
Rank: rogue (formerly warrior)
Characteristics: selective mute, distrustful, hates sleep
Murder Motive: vengeance
Number of Victims: 1
Number of Murders: 1
Murder Method: tearing artery
Known Victims: Wolfthrush
Victim Profile: her father, her mate's killer
Cause of Death: throat torn open, murdered by Wolfthrush
Cautionary Tale: ??
Story:
She ran.
How else was she meant to react?
Her father, her guide, her mentor, in some ways, her best friend had just killed the love of her life. He had tackled Beejaw to the ground before either cat could react, and lashed out over and over blindly--striking Beejaw's face, his chest, and then his throat.
His legs and muzzle were splattered with Beejaw's blood. His heavy breathing had mingled with her mate's final gasps of breaths. Then her father turned his wide, unblinking eyes on her.
Did she run because she thought that she was next?
Did she run because he had betrayed her so horribly?
Did she run because she needed to get away from that terrible sight, that terrible reality?
Perhaps all of the possibilities were right. But the thought process hadn't been consciously present when Snowsight ran. The only thing she thought of was run. Get away. Don't look back.
She couldn't get the images out of her head. She couldn't hunt without the blood sending her into a spiraling panic. She couldn't sleep without reliving the moment over and over again.
Sometimes it changed, little details altered. But the main event was always constant.
Beejaw pressed against her. He told her how much he love her, how he would leave his Clan to be with her and then they could be together whenever they wished, with no borders to stop them. He would smile at her, eyes so loving.
Then he would scream, and Wolfthrush would stand over him. And as Beejaw cried, Snowsight's father turned his gaze on her.
That was always when she woke up.
It was a long time before the shock wore off enough for anger to settle in.
How could he do it?
He hurt her so badly. He took away her love, her future. Why did he do it?
There was a time when Wolfthrush was her best friend. There was a time when she only had good memories with him, save for little squabbles that had been forgotten by the next day.
But now when she thought of her father, she could only picture the blood and slashing claws and Beejaw's screeches, and the burning in her throat as she screamed for her father to please stop.
He hurt her so badly.
He had to pay.
She travelled back to the Clan territories without a single break. Not to hunt, not to sleep. Not even to blink.
She found him a while before she even came near the Clan borders again.
Wolfthrush smiled when he saw her, and began to run toward her--
Snowsight snarled and charged.
Wolfthrush quickly whirled around.
He ran.
Snowsight ran too.
Not away this time. No, she going to make him pay.
It wasn't long before Snowsight caught him. She slashed out with her claws furiously. He had begged her to stop, said that he didn't want to hurt her. Snowsight was sure that she told him that he already had, but she was too crazed to be sure that anything besides vicious growling was making its way through her throat.
In a desperate attempt to defend himself, Wolfthrush lashed out--he should have kept his eyes open, but he couldn't bare to look as he struck his darling daughter.
Snowsight's blood spilled from her throat, drenching Wolfthrush's coat.
"Sorry," he began to gasp, when with her last bit of energy, Snowsight bit hard on his cheek, tearing an artery.
As black filled her vision and everything became fog, she wondered if the trickling she heard was from her own blood or her father's.
Additional Information:

Smoke Breathing+Forms:
Smoke Breathing is a direct split from Sun Breathing and Flame Breathing. What's left after a raging fire? Smoke and ash, and unfortunately Amari and Hayate, her teacher, know this firsthand. This style isn't particularly difficult to learn as long as you have strong enough lungs and a nimble enough body for it. Amari has the ability to breathe through the smoke that this breathing style produces for long periods of time. The technique usually means demons die of suffocation, as opposed to decapitation but she does have enough strength behind a few forms to be able to behead them as well. The smoke from this technique can vary in color based on its user and their traits. Her mentor's smoke was a vibrant green color. He was honestly very surprised to see hers be completely grey, dull, almost lifeless in color when she was able to produce the forms for the first time. However, he'd also never seen the different forms be used in such a deadly and efficient manner from himself or anyone prior (he's only the third Smoke Breathing user that he's aware of, first Pillar). There is now wisteria found in the smoke used in this technique. The wisteria found in it is simply a result of Amari ingesting wisteria on a regular basis, an idea of hers that she got from Lady Kocho. If she didn't, Smoke Breathing would still work, though it would definitely be more reliant on her ability to behead them.
Tumblr media
Smoke Breathing Forms:
First Form: Ashes in the Wind. The most direct attack which goes straight for the neck. This is usually a first attack, when there's an opening caused by another one of her attacks or a last resort that uses all stored adrenaline or all strength reserved to push for a final attack if the demon appears to be unbeatable by strategy alone.
Second Form: Smoke Left From a Burning Soul. Not used very often. A broad range attack that is kept for any types of traps they may wander into or multiple demons. She's able to spread the smoke over a larger area to start the suffocation process on any demons nearby her and her comrades. The smoke itself represents her burning home from the day she lost her siblings.
Third Form: Shadow Dancing Slash. A close attack that's reserved for lower level demons or for training when she wants to work on increasing her speed and reflexes. It's a quick combo attack that allows her to make multiple strikes starting at the enemies feet and moving towards their head.
Fourth Form: Clashing Ash and Dust. She's able to summon a haze that spreads over the area and makes it seem like there's one, then two, then multiple different clones of her. They lunge at the enemy at different moments before dissipating, disorienting them because they're not supposed to know which is the real one (though this move wouldn't necessarily work on upper moons because the clones have no smell or fighting spirit). She hides safely out of the way until she can find an opening to strike.
Fifth Form: Dancing Smoke Sweep. This is more of a defensive attack to help her get closer to the enemy. She goes for the feet and remains low to the ground as she works up speed by deflecting the enemies oncoming attacks. She moves in quickly before appearing in front of the enemy and aiming to do an almost completely vertical strike to throw them off balance or possibly even move in for decapitation.
Sixth Form: Pipe Dreams. While all different forms summon some form of smoke or disorienting type of smoky haze over the battlefield, this one is directly connected to her passionate nature. It's also directly connected to her energy levels. If she's too exhausted, she can't use it. This form is strictly a large, heavy cloud that settles over the entire area, almost giving the appearance of a forest fire/building on fire (depending on where the fight is). She hardly ever uses it because of how thick it is and so her teammates can't usually handle the intensity of it, but it's also the most efficient and handles lower level demons quickly. This is why she prefers running most missions and any patrols she may have on her own. It's just easier.
Seventh Form: Grey Blanket. Amari's invention, and basically Smoke Breathing's version of Dead Calm. The few minor differences are attacks aren't deflected, she's just able to dodge them faster than vision can follow, but they're small enough movements to make it seem like she's not moving. While the enemy may seem momentarily distracted by either her ability to dodge or the smoke that appears to exit her body, this is when she takes the opportunity to decapitate the demon. However, instead of a calm stride leading to a clean strike, this is a dramatic full circle swing, leading to the decapitated head being thrown away.

assorted oc stuff
Tumblr media Tumblr media
starting from yet another deswyn and valei stuff. i might actually add them on my website sometime this month
Tumblr media
god of creation asks destruction and time to play where's waldo. they could play a fucked up version of the game via searching for a very specific mortal among entire worlds' worth of population
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hmm. maybe im not ready to introduce these two fellas yet. let's say they got childhood acquaintances to rivals to enemies situation going on.
they do care for each other and wanted to know each other better, but their love language turns out to be the hate language for the other person soo yeah. a messy situation
they're also mentors for like a few more unintroduced characters
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok i've drawn this white (????? debatable) haired guy with the black haired little guy for a while. might as well introduce them here
ok so. for those four specific guys, they're pretty much runaways from different fucked up situations grouped together. they're now traveling together :] at one point they ended up stealing a ship slash home to travel together. so they can be considered a crew, in a way
melos (white???? haired guy)
literally created to be used as a weapon. technically born from the magic essence itself. very cracked magic potential. like this guy could easily give the other three magic energy poisoning if they aren't careful with their magic casting
managed to escape from the whole magic weapon situation with sai, and pretty much stuck around with sai bc they barely knew anything about the outside world beforehand.
kind of the eldest sibling figure to the other three??? but this guy had no concept of family or memories of having one, so they consider the other three to be more of companions. would rather see those three guys as equals to them.
mischevious little guy
sai (the shorter guy with black hair)
came from the same orphanage as roxon. after roxon left the orphanage for their revenge, they're taken away for magic experiments
managed to escape from the experiment situation with melos. they kinda see melos as the guardian figure. like melos could defend them but they knew jackshit about the outside world, so they have to help melos with that
clings the most to melos. kinda finds elesia and roxon intimidating
shy little guy
elesia (reddish-brown hair guy)
fun fact! elesia is the biological child of this fallen angel/demon from sometime ago. though said person is technically an absent parent since they got exiled and elesia is left with the other parent :(
since their parent is a former angel, they also got extra stuff with their magic! but turns out their magic is mostly considered a hazard, so most of the time they hide their magic and only uses it when they're pissed off
but here's a catch: they're easily pissed off. so yeah they do get in a lot of trouble and is scared to use their magic most of the time
met roxon while they're trying to figure out the situation behind their single parent's disappearance, and eventually ended up having to escape from their hometown w/ roxon.
ends up traveling with melos+sai bc they tried stealing their food, almost got attacked by melos, then melos offers the food + offers to accompany elesia+roxon in their journeys :)
roxon (another black haired guy)
sent to orphanage bc of their family's death, and left the orphanage for revenge. ends up running into elesia and ended up helping e/o out
born with no magic essence. can't do shit with magic. so yeah they either use weapons or throw hands instead, or they offer to be the brains/strategist of the team instead
their expressiveness is on the opposite scale from elesia aka. the type to not express much emotions.
despite coming from the same orphanage as sai, they didn't talk much to them. they just remembered seeing e/o living together with them

do you have any ships youre more inclined to?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ I will admit that I do have some favorites for certain muses, that doesn't mean I subscribe any less to the "shipping with chemistry" philosophy. Even if one of my mutuals is a character I really like with one of mine, I'm more inclined to sit and think on it and run a few interactions before approaching the subject- or accepting if I was approached first. ]
[ Now, with my wee disclaimer out of the way, here's my list of an answer (minus OCs because. Everyone except Jackdaw is original fiction, and even then Irene doesn't have any ships at the moment.) ]
Abe: I am very attached to both the idea of Abe Has Two Hands (for Hellboy and Liz), and B.P.R.D. Agent Found Family Siblings- but the former has been growing on me lately. I don't particularly like Abe with Kate, I see them more as explicitly close friends, but I could be persuaded otherwise.
Bro'Dee: my first big ship for him was an itty bitty rarepair with Martian Manhunter. That's still near and dear to me, but Arkillo, Hal, and Kilowog have entered my multi-shipper heart. The idea of Bro'Dee and Sinestro or Iroque/Indigo-1 has crossed my mind a few times now, but those are harder to explain, lmao. Bro'Dee's Mentor-Slash-Adopted-Dad relationships with Kyle and Razer are So Important to me, thus unsurprisingly no-gos as far as romantic ships.
Dedan: I don't really ship him with anyone. He absolutely has feelings for Queen Vader, not just protective/loyalty but romantic- however he knows better than to ever admit so allowed. He and Enoch are a big no for me, same with Japhet. Dedan and Hugo Found Family is all I really care about dhhsks-
Edwin: besides (obviously) Jon, I really like the idea of. Not necessarily a romance (not at first) but he and Eddie. I like ships with Nygma that go from "I hate you so much you're so stupid" to "okay maybe you're not THAT stupid but I STILL HATE YOU" so on and so forth. Also love the idea of Winnie and Selina being little shit kleptomaniac friends.
Harriet: hello yes I think Harrie and Steph Brown would be so good. Not for anyone else in a five mile radius, but they would be the perfect Chaos Lesbians. (There's a joke about Steph liking people with caffeine addictions to be made here.)
Harvey and Harv: Bruce Wayne or Oswald Cobblepot are who I almost always think of for romantic ships for the Dents. I think them and Selina and/or Eddie could be interesting as well. A really inexplicable pairing I like is them and Jon of all people, I have no clue why, lol. (I also think it'd be interesting to see what a Two-Face/Batman/Riddler relationship would look like òvó)
Jon: again excluding the obvious answer (Edwin), I'm not opposed to he and Riddler but it's not my favorite. I'm more partial to Batman, Catwoman, Bane, or even Two-Face or Croc as a partner(s) for Jon. Harley, Ivy, and Hatter are hard nos for different reasons (found family, usually found family's girlfiend and/or lesbian, and Very Bad History respectively.)
Linda: another I don't really ship with anyone. She's not aromantic, but. In terms of like practice, Yes She Is. Linda isn't that concerned about a partner (and refuses to tell me what her type is beyond "people I can use.")
Salaak: Guy. Or Kilowog. It's inevitable that Salaak is the "long suffering" in the "jackass and long suffering partner" dynamic, and name two bigger jackasses in the Corps (that aren't Hal or Kyle.)
Sameer: also zero ships. The only Squad member he has even close to a positive opinion of is Harley, and even then it's more "you didn't plot to kill me, leave me to die, or try and force me into shit so. You're cool I guess" than anything.
Thoth (really straddling the line between "canon" and "OC"): I've mentioned this on my sideblog for EoK but. I didn't intend to pair either god with anyone (and still don't, not in the main story at least), but Set and Thoth have become my number 1 pairing for that project (tied with a pair of goddesses that do actually get together in main story.) I also like the idea of Thoth hanging out with other wisdom gods and psychopomps, not necessarily as a romantic thing but a fun dynamic.

OK HI. Actual post about this AU!
I call it Aeolus' Apprentice AU, and the basic premise is like. Since Aeolus has quite a few parallels to younger Ody, what if she mentored him instead of Athena?
So obviously this changes some things- I'll go in chronological order to the best of my ability.
To get it out of the way, Odysseus IS still Odysseus. He's very similar to canon if not a bit more immature. So he's not really gonna be the one changing in this AU.
So how they meet is in the same span of time as Warrior of the Mind, but the challenge is different. I like to think that Aeolus sent the winions to go be mischievous and such (like when they tell his crew "its treasure!") and they go to trick Ody but he outsmarts them, prompting Aeolus to reveal herself and from there they become mentor and apprentice.
A note on their relationship, theyre MUCH less mentor & apprentice than snarky siblings most of the time? They have a more lighthearted vibe! Usually! (I'll expand more on this later.)
So ok timeskip to Open Arms as I have not read the Illiad and have no clue what goes on in it nor how Aeolus replacing Athena might impact it
Anyways while Odysseus is less hostile to the winions he is still Wary. He's a bit jumpy and he knows they can be mischievous. Afterwards, Warrior of the Mind is almost entirely cut (I can't find a way to incorporate it..) but Aeolus does pop by to be like. lol i gotta keep you on your toes. You should try some of this lotus though ahahaha slash jay
So then at the end of the Cyclops Saga we get to Remember Me and Aeolus is like. Yikes! You just doxxed yourself Ody! Thats Bad! Like. Its not Athena levels. She Doesnt Leave Yet. But it's made worse because, while its left ambiguous, Aeolus May Or May Not Know that Polyphemus is her brother.
So Keep Your Friends Close has the most changes, being split into two songs. Ocean Saga, broadly, gets the most change actually. It goes Storm -> Keep Your Friends Close (1/2) -> Luck Runs Out -> Keep Your Friends Close (2/2) -> Ruthlessness.
The first KYFC half basically becomes Aeolus giving him the wind bag, saying "You're beginning to make a fool out of yourself, but I'm giving you one more chance. If you can keep this bag closed until you make it home, i like. Wont Leave."
Then Luck Runs Out takes place during the 9 days of Staying Awake (with tweaks ofc)
And the second half is when the bag Opens and its like. A parallel to My Goodbye in some spots. Odysseus starts yelling at her and being like I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS?? And Aeolus reveals that She Cannot Associate With Him Anymore. She knew that the storm was Poseidon's, even if she doesnt tell him.
OK THATS ALL MY THOUGHTS. ITS VERY LONG SORRY. I have some ideas for Wisdom Saga (retitled Wind Saga probably) that I'll probably send out sometime BUT. For Now. Im running away
Send me asks about this if you want, it'll help get my brain gears turning
Concept art, some is inaccurate:

finished mob season 2 a week ago, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
god.
was that a ride!!! needed to freak out about it somewhere and I'm a little too lazy to actually write it down by hand so typing it is :)
finished season one around two before and then season 2 just a week before this. oh man.
wow where do I even start with this??
I guess I can start with how I actually started watching mob? Which isn't actually that difficult to explain. I've heard of the anime as far back as 2016 when season one first aired via Domics (one of his old videos) and I didn't give it much thought at the time. It didn't seem like the kind of anime that I would enjoy (mostly due to the aesthetics, the art style is relatively unconventional for an anime and the character designs weren't traditionally attractive.) I've seen other posts about mob after that, and even seen fanart of it, but like I said I just never got into it.
Once I got into grade 11 and got closer to Victoria I started seeing more mob things but I was still relatively detached from everything. Then I promised her that we would watch it together at some point (I think this was first mentioned during winter break?) But because of the thing that is ib/dp2, we couldn't do so until after may exams were over.
So!! Exams are over, and I end up watching the first 5 episodes of season 1 with Victoria and. They were really good??? Especially the teru arc (and the op is. Insane. I never skipped the op for either season once) but we had to stop at episode 5 because it was getting really late. Then I took a few days break from it and didn't get back to watching it until maybe half a week later(?). And then the Ritsu gaining powers arc happened and I was hooked (because brooding overachiever archetype and the wonderful sibling dynamics???) Seeing how much mob cared for ritsu made me feel so many things. And also made me care for mob as a protagonist that much more. And then he gets kidnapped?? And the Claw infiltration arc???? Was so intense???
And of course I have the mention Reigen's 1000% power up. The way he's just a great father figure to mob despite the fact that he's technically a shit human being for underpaying and exploiting mob for his powers is so interesting?? The way One is able to write characters that I dislike initially (teru, reigen, 7th division members) and make them likeable is actual witchcraft because the turnaround is insane. Also the way that Reigen main priority throughout the entire infiltration arc is to make sure that mob doesn't have to fight because he's just a kid, and shouldn't have to bear the responsibility of saving the world because he has powers made me so emotional. It's so rare to see a functioning adult mentor figure that actively cares for the child and takes responsibility for their well-being. When he got slashed I genuinely thought for a second that he was going to get hurt (silly me) but the way he comes back was so. Fucking badass.
I just want to give mob and all the other kids a big hug man. Watching them get beat up hurt (almost physically???) Which just speaks to the impact of the animation (which is also absolutely stellar?? It's so dynamic and creative and so impactful) I can't help but feel hurt by proxy when mob is hit by the antagonists.
So season one was already absolutely insane and amazing, but oh man I was not ready for season two. I think this is the first anime that I watched where I deliberately chose to avoid consuming media surrounding it to avoid spoilers (which worked for s1/2 but. I am weak and I have a few minor spoilers for s3 and I regret everything) but going into season 2 was an experience.
I like how the way each season is structured kind of mirrors each other as well, starting with 3 episodic episodes before moving into some shorter arcs and then into the big bad of the season. The way that the Emi episode showed mob's growth was genius and really impactful and really set the tone for the season.
So. The mogami arc. Haha. Where do you even start with that??? I took a break after episode 3 and came back a few days later and I was not ready. I was ugly crying through all of the first half of episode 5. Watching mob have to go through the abuse from mogami was so fucking painful because he didn't deserve any of it. And the way the show somehow made me laugh after crying so hard when dimple showed up and the epic fight between mob and mogami happened was. Also a first!!! So many firsts with mob man. The scene where asagiri apologizes to mob was so touching.
By the way the messages of the show are so????? Positive????????? About how regardless of any external factors and how others perceive your identity you can choose to make your own life and have autonomy over your decisions, how children shouldn't fight adult battles, how conflicts should be resolved in a pacifistic manner if possible, but sometimes force is needed, the relationship between power and responsibility, the various relationships formed between people, finding the strength to stand up for yourself, dealing with insecurity and ego, how everyone has the potential to change regardless of their past, the importance of just being a good person at the core. Just. So many good things to watch be presented.
The separation arc!!!!!!! Aka. Reigen is an ass to mob but it turns out to work in both their favours. Seeing Reigen's struggles with his insecurities and loss of identity, and subsequent rebuilding of his self and abilities when apart from mob, and seeing mob grow by acknowledging how Reigen isn't always spouting the gospel and asserting his boundaries was incredibly refreshing. I think the first half of episode 5 and Reigen's tv scenes are two that I cannot watch again (I probably will but.) They were so hard to watch. I got second hand embarrassment when watching Reigen flounder on stage. The final scene where mob tells Reigen that he's a good guy makes me cry lol.
And. The big final boss arc. Was so. ARHDJDHSHSH the stakes felt so high?? And all the fights were so well choreographed and felt so impactful (I cannot think of a different word to use). Watching mob walk off alone to fight the boss and helping serizawa was so sweet and. Once again. Watching mob get beat up hurt. I also find the way that mob is able to take on the boss on his own as opposed to reigen really interesting. Because reigen comes back for mob but isn't able to properly fight (since he isn't an esper) and mob decides to take on the responsibility.
Watching mob lose himself for a moment and start to laugh maniacally while at 100% was really scary. And when he decides to go back for suzuki when he was self-destructing made me cry lol. How he was willing to take on the energy and pain from the explosion and stay with him in his "last moments". Come on. Like. COME ONE HOWNDNDNDJD he's so kind?? And good-hearted???
Anyways mob has since altered my mf brain chemistry. I'm not ready for season 3 (madeline said it will make me cry even more lol) and I can't wait to watch it with jet and colleen.
Also!! I read through "A Breach of Trust" which is this 300k+ mob fic in an au where mob is taken away by mogami as a kid and that made me cry too lol. It was really good and I really hope it wraps up with a satisfying ending.
Tl;dr I really, really like mob psycho 100 :') it's a good show. I think the high will die down after a while but gosh. It is good. I don't think I'll ever love it as much as I love it right now (just like how I'm sad I'll never get to watch it for the first time ever, which in of itself is a first for me) but I hope I'll still be able to love it tons even in the future :')

(Virtual Sketchbook #1)
Greeting, my name is Ryan Nguyen and one of little known fact about myself is that the last time I ever travel to outside of Florida nearly 5 years ago is Los Angeles from California which lasted 2 months of fun experience during the summer trip with my family members and friends.
 Autumn Rhythm by Jackson Pollock
The work of Autumn Rhythm serves it causes to summon up a sensation of otherworldly intensity which are continuously advancing in the absence of dawn or dusk.
Jackson Pollock is best skillful for his measures of portrays and the works of Abstract Expressionist. For these projects, many have created during his stream time, Pollock splash paint onto canvas to depict the feeling in response of motion. He then encountered subjects as well as bizarre map-reading of the insentient and Jungian exemplifies.
Some techniques of Pollock which come from the uses of ladle, sticks, and cutters to make up entanglements of slash line and various colors, sculpting murky webs and grids that the covering on top of one another to put forward signs of development and room.
Pollock's works are very pursued after for their brilliance, inspiration on the Abstract Expressionist movement, and as a illustration of Americanism. Among his costly sculpted pieces, including Blue Poles, which is priced up to approximately $350 million, and sold for $200 million which make the work of its painting so precious and treasures.
Jackson Pollock's favorite hobby in ceramics was influenced along with the task of his mentor, Thomas Hart Benton, who come across competent in the course of his penniless times in New York that it was serene and undisturbed to exchange furnished ceramics for sales rather than paintings which appears to pull through twice miraculously.
At first, I thought the painting of the piece from Autumn Rhythm was all randomly messy and splattered, with lines and color swirling all over the inserted frame. But after upon further investigation, the art of its work show such sprinted visual rhythm which gives off very bodily notation of connecting the painting with the artist's recent techniques.

The work of art shows labor tasks all men, including women and children, have to go through. Some medias include pen, ink, and acrylic paints. The art serves to appraise regular people in a realistic attitude when participate in every day's works which seems burden.
I'm recently become 20 years old since last month. My gender is male. The country I was born from are Vietnam. My ethnicity is Asian. Some hobbies or types of fun I usually do during my break time is sketching or drawing unfinished digital arts on phone or iPad, planning and listing things on white board for any kind of arrangement, and watching news from twitter, Youtube, and other social networks. Currently, I'm not assigned to any particular group or organization. I'm in a process of completing the course requirements for Associate in Arts degree from online college. What makes me unique is that I'm the tallest family members than the rest of my family, including my older sibling and grandfather.
Tumblr media
This type of self-portrait I come up with depicts the kind of freedom I have looking for once I'm cleared all the remaining assignments and tasks that has still yet come before me. But no matter how much I accomplished, there's still more endless possibilities that I still has yet to overcome. The more I think about it, the more worry it grow within my mind, but it also somewhat give me courage and motivation to keep thriving to avoid failing again after countless mistakes I made in life along the way.

my brain just has to torture me for new ideas again, didn't it?? sksksk. anywho, imagining arrowverse!ray palmer as the third-wheel slash roommate to dceu!carter hall and dceu!ryan choi is making me feel things, sksksk.
in a l.o.t s3 AU, where after working in upswipez for a few weeks, ray decides to move to st. roch to live with carter instead. and ryan and carter are a thing, who have a bit of LDR going on (bc superhero duties and jobs get in teh way). and ryan and ray bond over the potential of ryan sharing the atom mantle with him. helping him build a suit and stuff. ray showing ryan the ropes and helping him gain confidence. ryan being floored by how ray believes in his potential. ray finding a sibling in ryan that he didn't have in sydney. ryan also having a sibling figure in ray, who has faith in him. (i know they have a mentor-mentee dynamic in teh comics but. . . for this AU, they're less than a decade apart.)
eventually when the team gets the waverider back, i guess ryan and ray swap in some missions. and they find a groove where they get used to the swaps, lmao.
my brain is still spinning and gosh, i'm so floored by it's sudden burst of ideas.

BIO-[TW: MENTION OF DEATH AND MURDER]
The world has always been a silent one for Io, born deaf–she quickly learned how to use her other senses to adapt to the world. That was a trait that would quickly define Io, she was a fast learner. A valued trait for one born in District 3.
With her brother at her side, there wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. They made quite the team–her brother had a knack for inventions and Io? Well, get her behind a computer screen and she could do anything. Even at a young age, the twins made quite a name for themselves in 3.
But that comfortable life was ripped away as soon as Io’s name was called for the games. To this day, Io swears the only noise she ever heard in her life was her brother yelling for someone to volunteer. But no one stepped forward. And no one certainly expected Io to win.
She didn’t make much of an impression on the other tributes–or the gamemakers. No sponsors were rushing to send her any gifts during the games. But Io was always quick to adapt. And adapt she did.
If the other tributes wanted to underestimate her, she’d turn it against them. Learning every skill possible, and learning something new in a short amount of time was child’s play to her.
In the arena, she was overlooked. After all, there were bigger threats than her lurking around the corner. She kept to herself, waiting for the right time to strike. Surviving was hard, but she paid attention to everything, every shift in the wind, every smell. She was on step ahead of everything the games threw at her. And by the time it was down to the final five, it was too late for the others to realize what a threat she was.
It was a brawl, the final five being lured together to a final fight, everyone for themselves. Io held her own, until it came down to her and a tribute from 2. Io was patient and waited until they were tired before launching into the offensive. But the other tribute lashed out with a knife–a quick slash across the throat and Io fell to the ground.
The other tribute looked to the sky, waiting for that cannon to fire–but Io was very much alive. And her opponent had dropped their defenses. They underestimated her–and it lead to Io’s victory.
The Capitol–who had barely given her a second glance–was suddenly in love with the underdog from 3. The tribute who “rose from the dead”. Who won against all odds. But Io didn’t feel much like a victor. And the sudden wave of love from the Capitol did little to wash the blood from her hands.
In her games, she had killed four other tributes. Children. With families waiting at home.
But she played the game, waved and smiled for the cameras, answered every question. But all she wanted was to go home.
Even District 3 felt different. The life of a Victor meant Io could go through the rest of her life without working, but instead, she threw herself into it. Anything to distract–looking for someway to get back to the normal life she had before. She confided in her brother, the one person who didn’t look at her differently.
But every year she had to play the game again, thrust back into the spotlight as she returned to the Capitol as a mentor. Every year the nightmare of the Games was thrown in her face. And she had to smile through it.
Without her brother there, she found it hard to get through things. She became withdrawn, scared to reach out to anyone. Until he came into her life. Something about him made her feel a little less lost, and while they both challenged each other, barbed teases keeping them on their toes, he was someone who understood and listened. It didn’t take long before a playful rivalry blossomed into something more and the lingering glances between the two gave away how much they cared for each other. When Io found herself pregnant, it was a surprise, something she hadn’t planned for. But her daughter, Solara, was a welcome addition to her life. [WC]
After her time as a mentor, her programming skills soon caught the eye of the Capitol, who “offered” her employment–but one didn’t really turn down a request from President Snow.
From training simulations in the Tribute Center to the software used by the Gamemakers, it seemed that the Capitol used this job to ensure that the Games would always be a part of Io’s life.
She had heard rumors of a resistance, but they were just that. The Capitol fought hard to keep such mutterings quiet. But Io knew how to get access to information. And she used this skill to help the resistance. She hated the Games, and she’d use every skill at her disposal to stop them.
Io works with the uprising by using her programming skills to encode messages to fellow rebels or work within the Capitol’s own system to cover up the rebel’s tracks–gathering evidence of corruption, focusing the Capitol’s attention elsewhere or even removing evidence of the rebels entirely.
She’s currently working on a backdoor in the Capitol’s security protocols so the rebels have an easy in to the Capitol database–should they ever need it.

Hello I really adore your Combiner’s favorite person piece from way back when (i look at it often and go 🥲) it’s so PRECIOUS
I’d love to hear your thoughts on how you chose bots / what you based some of the choices on / share your headcanons for the combiner and bot pairings? No worries if you don’t wanna im just very interested lol 👀
this fanart, right?
Tumblr media
(◠︿◠) aww. thanks for the compliment, Anon! that’s very sweet of you and actually, this is honestly one of the car robots fanarts i’ve drawn that i think the most fondly of. combiners and their favorite people… i’m happy other fans liked it too. and i don’t mind sharing some of my reasoning for who i chose to match w/ who.
i picked combiners that got some fleshing out in continuities i had personally read or watched. this is the reason i didn’t include like, IDW1 Sky Reign, who appeared but didn’t have a lasting team or much of a personality.
and i went for characters who were shown to have befriended or made some form of a positive connection to a combiner team member while not starting out as one of their teammates. that’s why i didn’t include IDW1 Bludgeon and Monstructor, because sure, Monstructor usually showed up under Bludgeon’s command and followed orders but the pair didn’t have what i would call ‘bonding’ moments. originally i had planned to be more of a completionist and include extra characters, like Rook, Blackjack, Powerglide, and Alpha Bravo, etc. but there was only so much canvas space to work w/. i decided to cut it down and not put them in.
Menasor
Knock Out being included due to his relationship to Breakdown in TFP and IDW1 (and now IDW2, though that hadn’t happened yet at the time i drew this fanart!) seems… self-explanatory to me. Perceptor had a brief but fun rapport w/ Dead End in Cyberverse’s third season so i put him in as a nod to that.
Ruination
in RID01 Scourge/Black Convoy was a Decepticon that the Commandos (the series’ recolored expies for the Combaticons) followed. he and Dolrailer/Mega-Octane (the Onslaught recolor) seemed to get along well and Ruination did save Scourge’s rear a few times. and Scourge didn’t brainwash them or mistreat them, unlike certain other leaders. good for him! good for him.
Devastator
Prowl got picked because of the Prowlastator thing in IDW1. Termagax was the Constructicons’ mentor slash patron in IDW2, making her kinda their and Devastator’s mom. i felt she deserved a shout-out. Hoist and Grapple had an episode in G1 where they fraternized w/ the Constructicons and tried to build things together even if it didn’t pan out well. Omega Supreme’s inclusion also came from G1, since in one of the Constructicons’ multiple backstories he was friends w/ them back on Cybertron before they turned into Decepticons and he swore revenge on them… that’s why he’s one of the characters in the drawing who looks angry.
since he’s the first combiner in the franchise and the one who usually debuted first in past series, Devastator is the combiner who’s collected the most canon relationships w/ others in various continuities. i like to pretend this is just because Devastator is secretly a bit prone to developing attachments to people his components like despite being a huge neon green murder machine.
Victorion
Slide and Pyra Magna bonded over mutually not trusting or liking Optimus Prime in IDW1, and Pyra Magna sympathized w/ Slide’s pain over her sibling’s death. Slide would eventually pull her head out of her rear end long enough to join the Torchbearers and become a replacement leg for Victorion, helping to save the day. i really wanted to add one of the few female combiners in.
Bruticus
in IDW1 Blurr befriended Swindle after they mutually saved each others’ lives during a battle following the end of the war and hung out together afterwards. Cosmos had a Valentine Issue spotlight w/ Blast Off and he’s Blast Off’s current love interest in IDW2, making Cosmos the second member of the exclusive club of “Autobots who successfully became pals w/ a Combaticon in canon.”
the other Combaticons know about Swindle’s thing w/ Blurr. they find the fact that Swindle didn’t use and then discard Blurr baffling, considering Swindle’s standard track record of scamming people.
Defensor
Ambulon was good friends w/ First Aid in IDW1 and they hung out together and when he was killed by Pharma, First Aid took his death pretty hard… (T_T) it was sad that Ambulon never got properly to meet First Aid’s combiner team after he acquired one.
i think the rest of the Protectobots would accept and like Ambulon and so would Defensor. they’re good people like that.
Abominus
Sixshot being there is due to his edgelord Spotlight in IDW1 showing the Terrorcons as being his devoted fanclub who think he’s super cool and want to be his friends. that was amusing. one of the handful of neat ideas from Phase 1. i’m aware the Terrorcons weren’t a combiner team in that timeline. i chose to ignore that. this is because the idea of Abominus trying to pick up Sixshot and cuddle him was hilarious to me.
i can keep going but i just realized this post is getting a little long. sorry! i'll stop.

003 | Give me a character
I can probably guess most of what you'll say buuuuuut~
Hakuyuu
(Yes Yuu)
Yuu, huh? 😎
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you
How I feel about this character:
I try not to mix things with my HCs here since Hakuyuu didn't have much of a screen/manga panel time ( read almost zero ), but it's hard. I view Hakuyuu as a noble but shrewd man. Not noble in a kouen way ( I am sure he had a lot of influence on kouen though) . He doesn't manipulate like Sinbad to get his way. He is subtle in politics. No manipulation but no backing down either. Also I view him as a very strong fighter ( as proved in what happened in the fire he was killed along with Hakuren ) and a very caring protective brother to his siblings and a precious mentor and somehow - guide - in Kou brothers lives ( mostly in Kouen's) . He is almost as charming as Sinbad and the fact that Judar was attracted to his rukh proves the point that he saw yuu as one of the first people ( along with Hakuren ) in the Kou empire worthy of the title of the king. Let's not forget that Judar was a child at that time and even though Gyokuen had him in her clutches, he still had some of his child-like innocence. So, I trust his judgement as a magi in his childhood more, because it was not so dark and full of depravity. Well, at least not that much, considering the whole mess he caused in Sindria.
Back to the topic. I believe if he sat on the throne, Kou would have flourished much nicer, even nicer than Kouen's time. I am fond of Kouen and Mei both, but I believe they lack when it comes to ruling. Kouen in politics ( not that he doesn't know how to handle it, he just hates dancing around the topic which is necessary in politics ) like he did in the summit and went straight and
Tumblr media
With Mei, he lacks the warrior inside although he is a brilliant strategist.
BUT
Hakuyuu has both. An emperor with both qualities on the throne, having the loyalty of his siblings and cousins? A wise emperor, subtle but cunning?
Such pity that Kou never had him.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Feel free to stone me , but I ship him with Sinbad ( despite the fact the had never met ) let's pretend they had and are lovers indulging each other in political games.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
YuuEn . I really like his relationship with Kouen and how deep their bond was to the point that En received his sword after his death.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
I don't think he had ask ryuu to get revenge, I think he had told him to beware if their mother or something.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
More bonding with En in magi , meeting Sinbad in SnB and obtaining a djinn
my het ship: -
my fem/slash ship: Hakuyuu/Sinbad
my OTP: look above 👀
my OT3: -
my cross over ship: -
my kink:
I have not thought about it tbh. But now that I am thinking, he is very hot in imperial ( emperor outfit not prince) , so I am imagining him in it being all loose after a night party with a lover ( read Sinbad ) in his chambers. He is not a kinky character to me to be honest but he is definitely a switch.
a head cannon fact:
He is mischievous when he wants to be and also an avid reader. Kouen's library used to belong to him.
my gender bend:
he doesn't seem like Hakuei to me at all though ei's features are soft like him. Not gyokuen either. I image him something between gyokuen and arba. Hot but vengeful in his ( her ) female form .

Final Fantasy II: Memory of Heroes novel differences
I’ve done I and III (though the latter may need a touch-up later). Might as well do II as well.
Compared to the other two adaptations, II sticks more closely to the actual plot. There’s still some differences, though.
- The adaptation starts with Firion being resurrected, although he has a flashback to what happened: The party flees, Leon realizes that fleeing is hopeless and turns to fight, Firion joins him while Guy protects Maria. Firion falls just as Guy has his back slashed open and the last thing he hears is Leon giving a war cry, with the implication that Maria was attacked.
- We’re given a smidge of background on the orphans in this version: Rather than in Fynn proper, their hometown is a village on the border of it, they’re explicitly mentioned to have lost their parents in a fire, their father tells Firion to take care of his siblings, and the four apparently imagined themselves as rebels, which they reflected on with shame after they were forced out of their home.
- Firion is furious and wants revenge when he asks to join the rebels.
- The task of infiltrating Fynn is recognized by Firion as a test of their self-control. Maria almost tries asking a couple in a house about the man taken to the tavern, but Firion and Guy hold her back.
- While accompanying Firion’s party, Minwu mentors them in a number of ways. When Firion brings up Gordon, Minwu states that he needs the strength to stand on his own and that Firion’s party is more likely to help with that.
- Cid is a lot more jovial and less gruff here.
- Josef is far ruder in his initial interaction with the party. He doesn’t even tell them what’s wrong directly: He covertly shoves a map of the Mythril Mines at the party before forcing them out the door. It’s only after they go there that they start figuring out what’s happening.
- Also, Minwu believes Josef strong enough to have handled the imperial forces himself (of course, then they learn Nelly was kidnapped).
- The commander is far less impressive here: The text notes that the cavern is decorated in a ‘desperate’ attempt at making the cavern luxurious and Minwu makes a plan that catches the imperials completely off-guard.
- For the plan to destroy the Dreadnaught, Minwu gives Firion the leadership role.
- Upon learning that Borghen is overseeing development of the Dreadnaught, Firion considers straight up ending him right then and there, before deciding that, with how work on the Dreadnaught’s going, he’s harmless. Then they find the Dreadnaught done ahead of schedule and Firion curses that they should’ve done it.
- Firion actually fights the Dark Knight (who roasts him for his poor on-the-fly plan) where the first clue of his true identity pops up: The Dark Knight is described as having a unique, self-taught style (which he uses to disarm Firion quickly) and that it’s one Firion recognizes Leon.
- The Sunflame quest is totally different:
-- Gordon joins the party as they leave Fynn
-- The Sunflame takes the Goddess Bell’s place at the bottom of the Snow Cavern. Gordon already has Egil’s Torch
--  Gordon is captured by Borghen towards the end of the cavern. Borghen himself makes no mention of being executed by the Empror for failing, instead focusing on his glory and legacy as well as reclaiming his status as a general.
-- On a related note: the game is a bit ambiguous regarding Borghen’s feelings towards Leon the Dark Knight. Here, he’s explicitly dismissive of him.
-- Gordon ends up throwing the torch, causing Borghen to hesitate long enough for Maria and Josef to take him out (Firion catches the torch).
-- Borghen’s trap isn’t just a boulder, but to cause the cavern to collapse. Josef holds up the roof long enough for the others to escape, but ends up crushed afterwards. Gordon naturally feels guilty, but Firion does too for not killing Borghen back in Bafsk.
-- Nelly is portrayed as mature for her age, which shows in the scene where she tells the heroes to keep fighting, hiding her sorrow until her last line of asking them to do it for Josef.
-- Also, the woman outside of Josef’s house doesn’t exist in this version of the story.
- The scene where the party rides chocobos to chase after the Dreadnaught is the only time Guy’s affinity with animals comes up, I believe. The novel also states that Chocobos have a strong homing instinct, explaining why they flee as soon as the riders get off.
- While the game glosses over the realization for simple foreshadowing, here the party actually realizes that Leon is the Dark Knight when he confronts them in the engine room. As a result, the party considers whether or not Leon is brainwashed and Firion wonders if he’ll be able to fight him.
- The Lamia sequence is heavily toned down 0/10 worst adaptation ever: Hilda’s eccentric behavior is replaced with her acting shell-shocked and the seduction sequence doesn’t happen. Instead, when Firion tries to ask her to lead again, she dismisses his concerns as trivial before telling him to come closer.
- Firion actually does almost get killed by the Lamia before Maria and Guy barge in and the former shoots it, giving Firion a chance to finish it off. Maria then chastises Firion for being so careless.
- The party fights the Behemoth, Maria using magic while Firion and Guy use physical strength. When Guy gets knocked aside, Gordon takes the opportunity to stab it in the threat, with Firion adding his own sword to the forehead.
- The Emperor has a jester in this adaptation and he’s present for the arena sequence. When the Emperor turns out to be an illusion, it’s due to the Jester’s influence. On that note, the Dark Knight is absent in this sequence; the party falls for a trap door.
- The recapture of Fynn happens offscreen. We do get Hilda give a speech to the worried populace, though.
- I neglected to mention this earlier, as you may have noticed, but Leila has the dubious honor of being the only guest party member to not appear in this adaptation 0/10 worst adaptation ever. She’s replaced in the Mysidian Tower trip by a generic male captain and she’s not present for the earlier shenanigans like the Lamia. This has the added effect of making Gordon the only guest (not counting the replacement captain whose fate after Ricard leaves is ambiguous) to survive to the end of the story.
- Ricard’s a bit more playful here, at least until he learns that the Dragoons were wiped out by the Empire from the captain. The revelation that they were all poisoned, and he was stuck in Leviathan, causing him to lose it and become desperate to escape. In the end, the group use gunpowder to cause Leviathan to spit them back out.
- The four crystals in Ultima’s chamber in the Mysidian Tower are woven into the plot: Namely, they’re II’s equivalent of the elemental crystals (which the game itself hints at) much like I and III. While they aren’t explicitly called such, the crystals stressing that darkness is spreading over the world, that the world cannot exist without Light and telling the Warriors to “bring Light to all” along with blessing them with their powers and the four feeling Light within them..., the four are made Warriors of Light in all but name.
- Deist happens off-screen. Ricard leaves the group after the Crystals’ blessing to see Deist for himself and returns with the Wyvern. He mentions Elina and Kain as he explains what he found at Deist.
- The Emperor initially uses another illusion on the throne in the Cyclone, but this time Maria grows wise and snipes the jester making the illusions. The Emperor himself then appears behind the party.
- The Emperor uses explosive and, interestingly, light magic. Firion is forced to shield Maria to give her a chance to cast Ultima, giving Ricard a chance to leap at the Emperor. Emperor parries the leap, but his scepter gets destroyed, which lets Firion and Guy end the battle.
- Also a neat little detail: The Emperor is shocked to see one of the Dragoons alive.
- Unlike the game, Firion and co. don’t forget about the Dark Knight and even note his odd absence. Then the news comes...
- Cid is never explicitly said to die, although with the shape he’s in, it’s probably pretty obvious.
- I made a post about Leon’s speech earlier. The general gist is that the speech is expanded, with Leon feeling that the only way to get out of the cycle of oppression is to stand at the apex of power. Firion notes that Leon used to believe that power should be to protect the weak and Leon claims to have discovered the limits of that approach.
- The Emperor emerges from Leon’s shadow (It’s symbolic). The novel also gives something of an explanation for Leon losing his helmet: The Emperor shatters it when he whacks him on the head. Interestingly, while the “there’s only room for one Emperor” line is there, the part about wanting to destroy everything isn’t.
- Ricard implores Leon to reconsider his path and transfers his Light over to him. The Light ends up being a factor in Leon turning face.
- The Jade Passage and most of Pandemonium is skipped: Leon aims the airship down what may as well be the passage and guns the engine. He winds up crashing the airship into Pandemonium’s top floor, with it stopping in the throne room.
- While I haven’t mentioned it until now, Hell in this adaptation is consistently referred to as “The Underworld”. Not sure why, as the characters say stuff like “Damn” elsewhere.
- The Emperor actually calls out Leon for siding with the heroes after just recently trying to kill them. Leon shoots back that he’ll do anything to protect the world from the Emperor.
- As the Emperor is on the verge of losing, he has a breakdown only to save face when he notices the Warriors’ light. The party reaffirms that they’re not just doing it because it’s their job to stop the darkness, but that they’re doing it for all those who have died and for those who are left to have a better future, etc.
- While Maria tries to stop Leon from leaving, Firion has the feeling that they’ll see him again someday. Leon himself feels a similar way, but blames it on the light Ricard passed on to him before leaving on his own adventure.
- BONUS: The ending of the FFI adaptation implies that the Warriors of Light reincarnate across all three stories. This would generally mean
Firion = Setro (is the leader, although with growing pains and self-doubt, and is very hot-blooded here. Also uses himself as a human shield at one point like Setro and Luneth)
Maria = Flora (Maria does get tutored by Minwu, which is a factor in her wielding Ultima, a spell classified as White Magic in FFII)
Guy = Teol (Arguably the weakest connection of the four; Guy uses his physical strength leaving Maria as the sole magic user, and him being good with animals is only mentioned briefly. Him being quiet and dependable is probably the only consistency between the two)
Ricard/Leon = Zauver (A bit hard to spot given that both only appear towards the end of the story, but Ricard is portrayed in a more playful nature and, like Minwu and Gordon, they both act as the number 2 to Firion. Leon also acts a bit more rational than Firion towards the end of the story (though that’s partially because he actually knows where Pandemonium is rather than being fooled by the projection) and he pilots the airship to the underworld. That said, the mention of Ricard’s Light influencing Leon makes it very obvious as well).
