Can we just take a second to talk about how much Tim cared about Jay. Like even if Tim was a bit rude at times, he really did show that he genuinely cared about Jay. Way more than Jay ever showed that he cared about him.

For example when Tim falls down and the operator shows up. Jay tries to pull Tim away but then just runs away when he can’t. Sorta leaving Tim behind here. compared to Tim in entry #72, when the operator showed up Tim stood by Jays side. He literally stood up to this horrid entity that had been tormenting him and Jay, instead of just turning around and ditching Jay like he could have. He decided to stand by his side no matter what happened. He had no real clue what he could have been sacrificing in this moment. He didn’t know if he would die or not, he hadn’t done this before. He was risking it all to save Jay. I think that’s just one of the various examples that shows that Tim truly just cares about Jay.

Pill sharing 💊

we find out that Tim is helping Jay out after their interaction with the Operator. Tim literally helps Jay into the house at the beginning of the entry. In this entry we learn that Tim has been sharing his medication with Jay. Which he has a limited supply of and he mentions not knowing when he would be able to get a refill, nor know if he really does have any more back out of his house. So Tim is giving Jay his precious medication that he really needs to be able to hold onto his sanity. But instead of being more concerned for himself, he decides to give Jay his medication to ensure that Jay is safe. I think this just once more really shows that Tim cares for Jay, and will put himself at risk for him.

He finds it really warming and loving to spend time with those important to him, he thinks it’s kind of a point of life. To be surrounded with people you love and find comfort in.

Both = Both of the previous ones mentioned. So, quality time and words of affirmation. He doesn’t need a lot to feel loved and would prefer it if he would have a life partner that’s the same. However! He would still really enjoy doing one of a kind things with his loved one such as going to unique places or doing cliche things just because he wants to be able to tell that he did have the experience of doing this special unique thing with the person he loves. Not in a bragging way but perhaps he looks at it as a small privilege in life and it’s his way of showing gratitude.

Jungwon

Giving = Words of affirmation! Though he does enjoy deep conversations he prefers to take words of affirmations a bit lightly, so he might flirt a lot with the people he loves. (Even if it’s a platonic friendship) To him it’s his way of letting the person know he is comfortable with them, plus he finds it fun. Although he does find joy in comforting his loved ones when they feel down, he might just be awkward at it due to being an action person rather than a words person.

Receiving = Physical touch! He really loves being clingy to people who he knows are comfortable with it, because in his eyes it’s nothing bad at all. He loves to initiate physical touch for sure, but he has a slight preference for his loved one starting it due to it making him feel loved, wanted or needed. Especially if it’s caressing one anothers hand, cuddling or something of the sort.

Both = Quality time! He pretty much is really greatful to be able to spend time around the people he loves and finds comfort and warmth in being with them. Though he doesn’t need to do crazy or exaggerated things to enjoy it at all. To him cuddling and snacking while talking about random things is just enough, he is down to almost anything really.

Giving = Physical touch! He likes to be close to the people he loves, let that be both emotionally or physically. To him it’s natural so he doesn’t do it with any second thoughts. He does it naturally, not being shy or ashamed if anyone sees. In fact if anyone were to find him being affectionate with a loved one odd or anything of the sort he will definitely look at the person as weird and close minded.

Receiving = Quality time! He personally loves to do unusual or just really random things with the person he loves. He doesn’t mind taking the lead either, he loves to make sure that the people around him are not bored. Though he knows when to step back and hear out the other person, so he just really wants both of them to have fun rather than only him. He could also potentially get really excited during quality time.

Both = Physical touch and quality time! Niki probably doesn’t have a third love language, unless you count teasing as one. He seems to find a lot of joy in just experiencing life with his loved ones wether that’s outside or at home, just like Jungwon he is more of an action kinds of person rather than only all talk. This could be something that’s really important to him.

you work through another boring shift at a jewellery store. then, a handsome man walks in, looking for help.

note this is something that randomly came to me and i couldn't let go of it, so here i am on tumblr writing about it... any feedback and interaction is appreciated! 🫶

“yunjin! could you please help this lovely lady with measuring her ring size?” you called over to your coworker, as you flashed the woman a smile and rushed off to attend to a pair of new customers waiting for assistance, welcoming them with a “how can i help you?”. yunjin quickly scurried past you, swerving to avoid bumping into you.

you worked at the jewellery store pandora, and, like it always was on any saturday, you guys were packed. so much so that you barely had time (or room) to stand still and breathe for a moment. unfortunately, you and your friend yunjin were left alone to take care of all the customers, which meant that you wouldn’t be getting rest anytime soon.

after a few hours near lunchtime, the numbers dwindled down, and you and your friend slouched over the counter, closing your eyes and enjoying the peace. 

“this is probably the busiest we’ve ever been…” yunjin said, her tone exhausted. “i know right… i don’t think i’ve ever seen this many couples at once,” you replied, adding a “wish it was me…” underneath your breath. yunjin looked at you with a half-smile and patted your shoulder in a way of comforting you.

suddenly, you heard footsteps. you and yunjin scrambled to stand up and look presentable for the new customer, with yunjin suppressing a groan of annoyance. you took her by the shoulders and sat her down on a stool, saying “it’s okay, you rest; i’ll take care of this one.” ignoring her protests, you walked over to see your new customer. “hello, welcome to pandora! may i help…”

your words caught in your throat as the man looked up at you. he was probably the most handsome person you’d seen in… well, basically your entire life. he was dressed in a navy blue polo and beige dress pants, a charming smile and the most attractive jawline you’ve ever seen. 

you didn’t even realise you were staring until you heard yunjin cough loudly from the back of the store. you flinched, startled, and turning to look back at her, you knew she could tell what was going on in your head. “this is your chance!” she mouthed to you, giving you a thumbs up. 

you turned back to the man, wanting nothing more than to know his name, and possibly every other detail about him. “sorry about that… are you looking for anything in particular?” you asked, scratching your neck awkwardly.

he laughed a little at your frazzled state, and said “don’t worry about it. i’m looking for a ring that i can gift my mother for her birthday. could you help me? i want to make this perfect for her.” he said with a smile.

you felt butterflies explode in your stomach. his voice sent shocks through you like electricity, and the fact he came to get something for his mother? “oh, he’s so sweet” was the only thing racing through your mind.

you flew into action. “of course i can! do you know her ring size? does she prefer gold or silver? oh and, what about gemstones? we have plenty of options here…” 

after thirty minutes of looking and trying to find the perfect ring, he finally found it. you clapped happily as he made his decision, complimenting the ring and assuring him his mother would love it. while you packed the box, the man looked at you and said, “thank you so much…” his tone indicated he wanted to know your name. you answered “y/n,” with a giddy feeling. he nodded, “beautiful... y/n, you worked really hard to help me…i appreciate it. i’m jay, by the way."

you offered him a genuine smile and replied quickly, “of course, jay! i really hope your mom likes the ring… i would love to know what she thinks of it,” you finished, stumbling over your words and looking away.

jay picked up on your tone, and grinned while saying, “oh really? how about i give you my number then, and i’ll let you know what she says?”

you almost yelled out loud. “oh, yes, of course! i’d like that a lot!” you managed to choke out, with yunjin practically squealing in the corner.

you watched jay type your name into a new contact with a small heart next to it and you swore you were about to faint on the spot. 

you handed him his package, and thanked him while he told you he looked forward to seeing you again soon. the moment he stepped out of the store, you ran toward yunjin and she hugged you, screaming about what she had just witnessed.

you both jumped up and down like little kids, all your fatigue from before erased. “i told you this would happen! urgh, you should’ve seen the stupid lovesick look on your face… and the way he was flirting with you?! insane, i tell you…” yunjin talked animatedly, waving her hands around to get her point across while you stood there with a wide smile on your face.

later on that day, when you were finally home from your shift and comfortable in bed, your phone lit up.

unconsciously, you began kicking your feet as you rushed to tell yunjin about the new development in your love life, your happiness evident by the way you were practically beaming.

jason and roy have a longstanding guys being dudes thing where they text each other pics of their gnarly bruises and not too serious wounds so that the other can be like “woah, i can see the tread pattern of the boot just from the bruise!” because these things are cool and gross in the way that dudes find irresistible and here is a guy who will valorize it without all the you should have been better undertone or smothering worry and it escalates until one day when jay gets a fingernail ripped off and his first thought after all the danger and blood is ha! this beats roy’s thing from last week and like they are somewhat aware that its kinda abnormal but their text convos are a safe space free from shame or judgement so its all good until someone gets a glimpse of pure gore followed by a winky face emoji when jason goes to open his phone

Just gonna casually bring this around to something more dickjayroy, because of course I would. All the above, but:

Dick and Roy running a mission together and, while successful, isn't without casualty. It's nothing they won't survive, but they're a little fucked up. Dick more so, but he's a scrapper. He'll survive the wait for first aid while Roy takes some sick and sleazy mirror pics for his boy Jaybird. It's all good.

Dick might be a little concussed and bleeding on Roy's couch, but Roy can't not share the road burn that stretches up his arm and shoulder.

Roy hearing Dick call for him from down the hall. Just a thoughtful check-in of, 'You okay?' Like Dick in his current state of wooziness and pain has the wherewithal to come help Roy if needed. The thought is sweet.

The fact that Dick would find the resolve to help Roy even as Dick is s t r u g g l i n g is mildly horrifying though, so.

Some cute banter as Roy sends his message off, calling out to Dick that he's good but also for validation that Roy looked cool while he was skidding across asphalt earlier. He was, right?

Pffft, Dick trying to be playful/teasing when he agrees, but he's so fucked up that it comes out sounding more genuine than anything and Roy is ;U; as he settles in to take care of his friend. Helping Dick out of the top of his costume only to pause because - wow.

Just Dick lacking all self-awareness. He's hurt. He's tired. He's got someone he trusts looking after him, so. Dick just slouches on the couch, head tipped over the back of it. Boneless. Dazed. Chest and abs a beautiful sight - all toned muscles heaving with shallow breaths, and like. Dick being hot is nothing Roy blinks an eye at, nah. It's the ugly, weeping wound in his side that does. Blood stained and irritated and already showing signs of bruising crawling up his ribs.

Of course the camera comes out. Of course Roy sneaks off a picture to Jason (it only shows Dick's wounded torso, even if Dick's scowl is handsome and deserves to be seen by more people than Roy lol).

Anyway, Dick joking about if Roy got his good side. To which Roy snickers because Dick is all good sides; but yeah, for sure.

Then Roy proceeds to actually tend to Dick's injury. Cleaning, stitching, distracting. Dick being a model patient, disturbingly still although he's sweating through all the pain. Seemingly ignoring Roy, only he'd never. Because whenever Roy stops talking Dick opens his eyes to look at him until Roy starts talking again.

Just Dick finding comfort in the sound of his friend's voice ahhhhhhhhhh. ;A;

In which a Roy and Jason ask becomes entirely Dick and Roy omg. This happens every time but in my defense they're perfect, so.

While Roy's hands are all bloody from patching Dick up, a reply comes through on Roy's phone. Roy telling Dick to check it for him.

Which leads to a little coy game of, 'what's your password?' and 'hah! like you don't know,' and 'if it's not my birthday idk if i'll recover,' and 'bull. what's your password?' 'the day we met ;)' which it isn't, Roy would discover later. Which would lead to lots of laughs and play fighting and it'd be cute af.

Anyway, Dick checking the message and seeing that the picture Roy took of him went to Jason, of all people. Jason - who has no idea who he's looking at.

Letting Dick read the texts is top tier distraction plan, on Roy's part. Also, it ends up being funny.

Just Jason being genuinely confused because he doesn't know about all of Roy's missions and stuff. So he's just like, 'hot damn.' 'i know that's not you who's mr.man?' and extra stuff about the actual injury with Jason trying to figure out what happened and being all thirsty because he'd take a bite fr

And it makes Dick laugh and ow, but it's so dumb

Dick taking the cheekiest photo with Roy that shows how he's stitching Dick up and tbh? Roy thinks it's criminal the sort of devastation Dick can cause when Dick tries. In that same vein, he's just as devastating when he doesn't try. That's neither here nor there though.

Roy cackling as they send off the photo and watching through titters at the ensuing silence, the indication that Jason is texting before he disappears before coming back again and going away.

Something something with Roy and Jason being fascinated by injury and gore. Meanwhile, Dick is all there for the emotional damage and injury through flustered feels. He's w/e about a bleeding wound, but blood rushing to Jason's cheeks in a blush? That's what Dick would want a picture of.

Commence Roy and Dick having their own text conversation that is entirely photos of just that LOL.

Roy's just living his best life and he deserves it.

pls expand more on the rehabilitationist v abolitionist dispute comment!

as a preface of sorts: this post is written with marxist theory of criminology in mind, and i relate to many concepts that stem from it. i consider batman as a series to be one of the most politically inclined texts when it comes to superhero comics as a whole, so imo it is imperative that it introduces many different outlooks on the topic of jurisprudence. and it is an approach that used to be pretty popular.

btw. if anything is unclear in terms of theory –– ask.

okay so, to answer the question: there's so much that contributed to this stray thought, and i think i hinted at a lot of it before on this blog, but let me just dump some of my thoughts in a disorganized manner... (maybe one day i will write about it in a more coherent way):

batman as the title needs an actual genuine counterweight to bruce's worldview, one that does not target the no-kill rule. enough with the no-kill discourse, really, i think in many ways it's almost... a detail, and i think the fixation on that detail leads to watering down the whole dilemma. (especially that bruce did not always treat is as a complete dogma and i preferred it that way.) what is more interesting i believe, is that bruce is a rehabilitationist – despite his vigilante work, he is dedicated to the idea of the legal system being a viable solution to crime. and, what is even more important, in his mind, crime is equal to a moral failure. i talked about it at length in my post about eoc, but let me just copy the relevant fragment in here:

bruce, while obviously caring, is still bound by his belief in the legal system and deontological norms. he is benevolent, but he is also ultimately morally committed to the idea of a legal system and thus frames criminals as failing to meet these moral (legal-adjacent) standards (even when he recognizes it is a result of their circumstances). in other words, he might think that a criminal is a good person despite leading a life of crime.

and of course, criminals need to be "corrected" and rehabilitated in order to be able to function in society again. the deviant behavior has to be eliminated.

i don't doubt that at the time when it was introduced, bruce's rehabilitationist philosophy was a radical one when compared with the prevailing popularity of the concept of retributive justice. but in the year of our lord 2023? the view that you can simply "fix" the system by aiding it in some ways is not radical at all. the system in question was mostly built around sustaining that corruption as a goal. and there are (or used to be) some characters, like leslie, who are “vigilante-critical” (among others) because of that reason.

enter jay. jay is very much in a position that makes it clear that the law is not usually on the side of the poor and marginalized. of course, he is only an ~11 year old, so of course he has no language to express most of these worries; he probably does not know anything about the rehabilitationist vs retributive vs reperative justice in a theoretical sense anyway. i doubt he knows that abolition exists as a concept; he might be well-read, but probably not in these categories. but he has certain intuitions; intuitions that i already talked about in the earlier mentioned eoc post. and these intuitions are that crime does not define morality. he does not consider himself wrong for stealing; he is not conflicted about willis being a criminal and grieves him easily; there’s no word of him being resentful to dealers. he has his own idea of justice that seems to be very much affected by his trouble with authority, the intention behind the crime, and perceived harm (this is imo one of the reasons he takes issue with ma gunn specifically). i think this setup is something that could lead to him taking an abolitionist point of view later on, since he seems frustrated with the label of “crime.”

obviously, at this point, jason’s disinterest in crime as something to contempt is seen as a problem (both by the editorial and in-universe); a problem that has to be fixed. and within his tenure of robin, we see him “learning” to ascribe to bruce’s moral code; which makes sense, because he is a kid, and because he trusts bruce. and so, i think his perception in this period does shift to accommodate the rehabilitationist outlook.

the garzonas’ incident, jay’s growing cynicism at the end of his robin run, and the red hood era altogether might suggest that jason, disappointed in the limits of this approach actively takes to the retributive standpoint instead. it’s def true insofar that the writers are not politically educated enough to understand the nuance that (imo) should naturally arise in his storyline. for example: the particular caveat in garzonas’ case is the position of power that felipe occupies and that grants him immunity. bruce, naturally, looks for the ways to bring justice by exploring other legal paths to solve the issue. jay goes with it despite being visibly unhappy. and i think this gets us to the core of the issue which is power and the system– the fact that the system is simply built to make it difficult to incarnate the higher-ups. diplomatic immunity exists for a reason, sure, but the fact that it allows people to get away with wrong-doing is not a side-effect; it's the goal. and so, felipe garzonas cannot be deemed a criminal, but willis and even jay at age of 11 were. the pattern repeats when it comes to the joker, who later uses diplomatic immunity to exploit the role to continue fucking with bruce. so the issue is not that the system does not work. the issue is that the system was built not to work.

another tangent: of course, you may note that the concept of the separation of powers (the judge, the jury, and the executioner) that bruce is so fond of is supposed to remedy the problem of the abuse of power. and it is, without a doubt, something necessary within the democratic system. still, i believe jason quoting arendt explains why he doesn't care for it in the slightest; in the man who stopped laughing #8 jay says: “you familiar with hannah arendt’s concept of schreibtischtäter? desk murderers? it’s people who use the state to kill for them, so they don’t have to get their hands dirty. you should read up on it. i think you’d find it very relatable.” arendt's work emerged in a very specific context, but jay makes it into something more definitive; a trait of the penal system as a whole; you can bring as many people into the workings of the justice system as you want to; but ultimately, most of them will act in the interest of authority, without a second thought (this also explains why he considers that making decisions on who lives and dies yourself is better than blindly following the rule of law.) (<- btw it links very well with the idea of autonomy as a predisposition to be moral since you need it to be an active member of the society. anarchists such as wolff have written lots of that.)

i'd say all of this leads us to the point where jason has great potential to come to the conclusion that abolition is the way to go. the ones in power will not get punished within that framework anyway, and the ones at the "bottom" of the socioeconomic ladder remain victims of it. months, months ago i had anons arguing with me, saying that comicbook characters don't have to be so socially aware and that even people irl rarely are; and i am also willing to indulge the narrative and say that jason is terribly confused regarding it all for now, because of how his childhood went and as a result of his personal trauma. nevertheless, characters are often vessels for ideas, especially in titles like batman; and bruce, for example, is allowed to have a developed a sound ideology on jurisprudence. why not jason? especially that all the motivations are there; the setup is there too. that's just another great incentive to actually make use of his origin story.

an extra disclaimer is that abolition is not the answer to all and that it requires so many reforms on all levels... and i don't think jay would be satiated with the mere idea of restorative justice that usually accompanies it, because that still leaves us with the problem of those in power maintaining it and (in the fictional context) supervillains (who very often do occupy those spaces) prevailing... but you know. abolition is very compatible with general revolutionary principles. who says he can't kill in that name if retiring is not a way to go (though my preferred timeline would include retirement for jay at least for a while... but i digress!)

to conclude, i think it's a conflict much needed not just for the sake of any progression of batman in terms of philosophy, but also because the ways jason was initially introduced (even pre-crisis) suggested that he was supposed to grow to be critical of bruce even as robin, while being on good terms with him too. and that's definitely a kind of dispute that is much more productive and nuanced than just going back to the no-kill rule over and over and over again when the source of it is much more interesting.

I Won't Let Go

Happy Holidays @bucket-barnes! I'm your Descendants Secret Santa. I did my best for a little Harry hallucination holiday angst for you. I hope you like it!

Harry is dealing with past trauma in Auradon during Christmas, and Uma and Gil are there to get him through it. Just a little fluff and angst for the holidays ❤❄

Uma’s hand tightens on the doorknob. Her eyes are tilted downward, following her own movement as if in a trance. She’s trying so hard to focus on the dinged-gold gleam of the metal rather than the words being spoken to her.

“Uma? You get what I’m saying, right? It’s for his own good. T-to, help him, I guess? I just…I want to keep him safe.”

Her chest feels tight, and the next breath she sucks in is borderline painful. But she plasters on the most genuine-looking smile she can muster, looking Ben in the eye with her chest puffed in fake bravado.

“Of course, Ben,” she coos, brushing her hand along his arm in a reassuring way. “If there’s anyone here that knows what’s best for us, it’s you. If you think Harry needs this, I’m in.”

Ben flashes her a grin, the most white and straight and perfect one she’s ever seen still, despite being surrounded by them now in a world of prim princes and princesses. There’s a sadness in his eyes, though. Uma feels like she’s been recognizing it more often. Whenever Ben has to acknowledge how the Isle has made their lives different, she sees it. And she finds she can really appreciate that about Ben in this moment. Neither of them wants to do this, but they both care enough about Harry to know it needs to be done.

“So, you really want to be in there, with him? I’d hate to keep you confined, too.” Ben’s chewing his lip, his brow furrowed with worry. “Once I lock the door it has to stay that way. The clock’s going to start ticking down the minutes to the parade in about…10 minutes?” He tells her with a brief glance to his watch. “And then the bells go off for a full minute after that. I think Harry’s going to need the full night to recover. After what happened at that Tourney game, I can’t risk it. The gash on Jay’s leg isn’t even fully healed yet.”

Uma winces at the thought. That wasn’t the first time they realized the Tourney bell could set Harry off, but it was definitely the worst. He had lunged at Jay simply because the boy was closest to the direction of the sound, so he got the brunt of Harry’s swing. Jay hadn’t stood a chance.

She shook her head sternly. “I’m not leaving him alone, Ben. He needs me.”

And I need him. The thought goes unsaid, but the tiny smile quirking at the end of Ben’s lips makes his understanding clear. With a gentlemanly wave of his hand, he grants Uma’s entrance through Harry’s door.

There’s no hesitation in Uma’s step. She charges through the door with the same determination and confidence she always has when she’s coming to see Harry. Like she wants to be here. Because she does.

In this moment, there’s nowhere else she’d rather be.

The second he meets her eyes, Harry’s smile gleams so bright. Warm and all-encompassing, reaching all the way to the crinkles of his ocean-blue eyes.

He always smiles that way when he sees her, Uma knows that. Because she always feels that same familiar heat pool in her belly when he does it, like she’s the only thing he ever needs to see again. The only thing he wants in his life, forever.

“Love, you’re back!” Harry proclaims, his arms already outstretched for her. He waits patiently that way, his wide grin unwavering until Uma’s in his arms, her tangle of braids spilling into his face as he envelops her.

“I was hopin’ ye weren’t gonna make me spend Christmas Eve without ya,” he said, voice muffled into the side of her neck. She shakes her head vigorously at that, making him chuckle.

“Don’t be a dolt, Harry. You know that would never happen.” She pulls back to smack him on the chest, the gesture missing all its animosity as she couldn’t fight the smile off her face. Harry ducks into her space, looking up into her eyes with a teasing smirk on his lips.

“A dolt, am I? But I’m your dolt, so what does that make you?”

“Well-“

“CAP’N! HARRY!”

Uma’s eyes whip to the door when Gil comes bounding in, practically toppling over Ben as he tries to open the door. She swallows a snort at the comical way the blond boy rolls over the king’s arm, flipping into a somersault and jumping up to his feet in an almost graceful flop. He flashes a toothy grin when he’s finally standing in front of them, panting audibly as he tries to offer a little bow for them.

Harry bursts out a laugh at that, picking up Uma in his arms to bow them both in return, eliciting a giggle from her while she clings desperately to his neck. Harry stands up quickly though when a loud cough erupts from the doorway.

“Eh, well…I guess Gil…we’ll see you in the morning too?” Ben stammers slowly, his smile halfway curling in an uncomfortable way. “Just, you all have a good night. And Merry Christmas!”

Ben waves as he closes the door, barely nodding an acknowledgment at the way Harry waves wildly back, almost dropping Uma to the ground as he does so. She lands on her feet though, brushing herself off quickly so she can jump on Gil and hug him tightly.

“Gil, what are you doing here?” Uma demands, smiling easily when he hugs her close. He’s sighing happily, and she lets it happen for a few moments before pulling back to look at him.

“Really, you should be out, enjoying the holiday stuff! You don’t need to be stuck inside.”

Gil’s brows knit together as he stares at Uma, clearly dumbfounded.

“Why would I want to do that when you an’ Harry are in here? That stuff doesn’t matter if I don’t have you guys! You know I love you, don’t you Ums?”

Uma bites her lip at that, holding her breath to fight down the swell of tears that’s starting to build.

“Yeah, Gil. Yeah. I know.” She smiles at him, turning to stand beside him to throw an arm over his shoulders.

“And you love our first mate too, right? We both do,” she adds with a wink, relishing in the way Harry beams back at them.

“Course!” Gil agrees, quickly jumping on Harry. They fall back on the bed in a hug, Harry nearly bellowing with laughter as Gil squeezes him tight, tickling his neck when he buries his nose there.

“I was bummed when Ben told me you guys couldn’t come out of this room, so I made him lock me in too,” Gil added in his muffled voice. He lifted his head to look at Harry, his expression changing to confusion when he sees the smile unexpectedly slip from Harry’s face.

“Locked…in?” Harry repeats. “So we can’t get out?” He glances at Uma. “What’s he talkin’ about?”

Uma huffs, but forces a smile back on her face. As much as she loves Gil, sometimes he could really stand to have some sense knocked into him.

“It’s nothing!” She waves it away, walking up to Harry to grab him by the forearms. “I wanted to have a nice Christmas, just us. I told Ben not to let anyone bother us, ok? I’m sick of all bells and lights and singing and that…eggnog crap that tastes like spoiled milk with cake mix thrown in.”

She emphasizes her last comment with a fake gag, forcing a slight chuckle out of Harry. She throws a quick glance over Harry’s shoulder to Gil, who’s just staring at her, eyes blank and confused. She tries to give him a little wink, but she’s sure it’s not enough for him to understand what she’s doing. Still, she tips her head their way, indicating for Gil to join them, and her shoulders relax when he simply shrugs and follows her.

“Can we snuggle Harry? I just need some time with my boys. This winter weather is shit. I’d like nothing more than to lay in bed and maybe watch a movie on the laptop.” She grabs Gil and yanks them both to stand beside her.  

“‘Pirates of the Caribbean’?” She adds, pouting her lips hopefully.

Harry grins instantly. “Oh Cap’n, you always know how to get me to do yer biddin’.”

She smiles brightly, pushing Harry back towards the bed. As he crawls into place, Uma is quick to pull Gil close to her.

“Clock ticking’s about to start,” she mumbles quietly, eyes still on Harry. “Make sure you have both arms around Harry as soon as we lay down, got it? The next 10 minutes are gonna be real tough on him. And us.”

She looks up briefly to Gil, relief flooding her chest when his eyes widen in recognition. He nods and scrambles quickly onto the bed, prompting another cackle from Harry when he leaps on top of him, wrapping his arms and legs around him and locking them together on the bed.

Uma manages a shaky laugh at the sight, her eyes darting quickly around the room for a second. She spots Harry’s hook on a high shelf, where Ben had made him set it when they arrived in Auradon. His sword is mounted in a case on the wall, out of commission.

She sighs in relief and crawls her way onto the bed, carefully positioning herself on the other side of Harry. He’s still laughing, and she offers a loving smile as she lays her head on his shoulder, placing a hand over his and Gil’s on his chest. Her grip tightens as the clock ticks its first, and she’s fast to swing her other arm behind Harry’s shoulder, holding firmly as his eyes bulge at the sound.

Harry’s face quickly twists from fear to anger as his fists begin to clench. Uma plants a small kiss to his shoulder before closing her eyes and bracing herself.

“Love you Harry,” she whispers softly, before the silence of the room is lost to a heart-wrenching scream.

LukeJamie Headcanons 🌟🍶

It's 3:34 AM and I can't sleep, here's some headcanons I have for these losers <3 Putting under the cut so I don't clog up dashes

Jamie knows how to cook, it came with living with his grandmother in the middle of nowhere and idolizing Yun and Yang, who own a restaurant. Luke can make basic things, but ask him to make anything more and it's a disaster guaranteed. Jamie never admits it but he loves cooking food for Luke because it's a subtle, wordless way for him to show his love.

Jamie's love language is giving acts of service and receiving words of affection. Luke's love language is giving quality time and receiving gifts.

Luke's apartment is a mess, usually placing things wherever it's convenient and forgets to do his chores sometimes. Jamie's surprisingly the opposite, keeping things organized and tidy. Cleanliness was practically ingrained in his brain because his grandmother was a huge on keeping things clean. When they start living together, Luke does try to make an effort to keep things organized because he knows it bothers Jamie.

Jamie's a cat person while Luke's a dog person. They always have petty arguments about this.

Luke's usually the big spoon while Jamie's the little spoon but that's because their height difference makes it easy (and Jamie doesn't like to admit it but he does like being held in Luke's arms). However, if Luke's having a bad day, Jamie would be the big spoon to comfort him.

Jamie always steals Luke's clothes. Luke has no say in what clothes get stolen, they just disappear from his closet. He would lightheartedly complain about it but he does love seeing Jamie wear his clothes - it makes him feel all warm inside. Jamie does think Luke's clothes are ugly, but he has to admit that they're pretty comfy to wear. Luke would steal Jamie's clothes if 1) they weren't too small for him and 2) if Jamie owned anything else other than primarily crop tops.

Luke LOVES using pet names. He mostly uses 'babe,' but he'll use just about any pet name ever, including nicknames (like 'Jay'). Jamie isn't big on using pet names, but there was this one time where he called Luke a term of endearment in Cantonese and refused to translate it for him. They mostly use insults as terms of endearment though - for Luke it's 'pretty boy' and Jamie uses 'meathead,' 'dummy,' and 'dork.'

Jamie cannot drive for his life, so if they ever have to drive anywhere, Luke is always designated driver.

Luke loves PDA - he'll take any opportunity to hold Jamie's hand, wrap his arm around Jamie's shoulder or waist, or kiss his cheek. Jamie, surprisingly, is reserved when it comes to public affection. He prefers keeping intimacy private and always gets flustered when Luke starts getting really affectionate in public. Luke gets a kick out of it and always teases him about it.

Neither of them are really overprotective over the other, as they trust each other to be able to protect themselves and navigate Metro City on their own. However, Luke does get worried about Jamie sometimes, as he's much more reckless and he has a little fear of something happening to him that can't be controlled, fueled by the loss of his father and the Nayshall incident. It doesn't help that Jamie doesn't really value his own life very much either - it's residual from his neglectful parents and growing up delinquent.

One time Jamie came home extremely bruised and beaten up during a rough patrol and Luke became upset seeing his boyfriend so badly hurt. Jamie was initially confused, since he was still alive and well, and it takes him a long time to understand that Luke genuinely does care about his wellbeing and if something did happen to him it would tear Luke apart. He starts being more careful after that incident - if not for himself, then for Luke.

Oh one more idea- Parent swap the three’s parents with Hawkfrost x Leafpool!

Hawk and Leaf started to hang around each other more and more as Leaf went over to Riverclan to help Mothwing with her duties. Hawk either wanted to get close to her to help get rid of Firestar, or just was genuinely interested in her. When the three were born, Hawkfrost immediately knew they were his kids and refused to let them grow up without knowing him. He didn’t grow up with a dad- so Hawk is sure he’s kids will. Leaf left Thunderclan to join Riverclan, due to a lot of backlash she received from her pregnancy, and over all is very happy to be with the cat she loves and cares for her children.

Maybe the three has different names? I love the idea that Hollyleaf was named after Tadpole in a way, like Tadoplesplash or Tadoplefur. Not really sure. Definitely got her father’s ambition and looks like him as well. Jay would be called Icestep, Frostfoot, Frozengaze, mostly because he’s blind but he does look a bit cold and unnerving with his glare. Still grumpy, but he’s a warrior not a medicine cat. And Lion would probably be still called Lion, but maybe Lionclaw or Lionstrike. He’s a big gentle lad, but everyone is afraid of him because he does look a lot like Tigerclaw. Tho they should probably worry more about his ambitious sister..

You know, despite the fact Sabine (Xia) does have a kinda big role and being a foil to Gabriel, I don't really talk about her often and really go into that. Time to fix that!

She's someone who is willing to acknowledge that she's kinda a mess and work to fix that before she hurts her kids. You see, when Hikaru died, she took it pretty badly to say the least . She dove into her work in order to numb her pain. She hardly spent time with Marinette and Jaden. And when she did, she focused on Mari more. This was due to guilt over something that happened when Jaden was little and worried about hurting him more. This led to some problems down the road.

By the time of the incident, she was panicking about losing them. This helped snap her out of her funk and made her decide to spend more time with her children. She now does her best to make sure they're okay even if she doesn't always know how to do it. It helps that she's genuinely still close with Phoenix who still helps .

In contrast, Gabriel took the loss of Emilie simply hard and similarly dove into his work. However he became obsessed with bringing her back to life. Unlike Xia, who tried to forget the pain before deciding to live for her kids, he chooses to dwell on his loss. Which later leads to him eventually becoming Hawkmoth.

At first he still tried to do right by his son but eventually he became someone who only cared about his wife. His only goal was to get her back, consequences be darned. This led to him losing his son and his soul. He became a monster due to letting his grief and later desire to win, rule him in the end.

Basically those two look at how grief can affect people and change. For better or worse. It's a way to say how "It's fine to grieve but you can't try to run away or obsess over it. You have to face it and learn to live with it. Because there are consequences to letting it rule you"

Descendants Characters As FNAF Night Guards: Sea Three

Uma: Okay, she is the most has-a-job of all Descendants characters, and working customer service on the Isle of the Lost is absolutely a transferable skill for working security at Freddy Fazbear's. (Even if we assume this is an all-human AU, she still worked at a restaurant where all the patrons were dangerous.) She answers the phone, listens to the call in full, and either does the job as directed by Phone Guy just as casually as Ben does, but with an additional layer of resigned detachment (because unlike Ben, she knows this isn't normal or fair, but she worked at Ursula's since she was a kid, so whatever), or she promptly leaves the office to go see about those animatronics and find another solution for their proclivities that doesn't involve toggling lights and doors all night. Maybe she flips over some tables to block off the hallways (because maybe Foxy can jump, with a running start, but the others definitely don't have the flexibility to jump over them or move the tables out of the way). Stuff like that. She'll put everything back to normal once her shift ends. She keeps working there, but she also fights for a raise. When she figures out that the animatronics are haunted, she spends her nights helping them figure out where their killer is. Like Evie, she's basically tamed/trained them.

Harry: He ignores the phone call because he's too busy looking at all the prizes at the prize counter and deciding which ones he'll steal for who. Some stuff for his sisters, some stuff for Uma, some stuff for Gil. And much like Jay, once the animatronics start acting out, he treats it like a game. He's messier about it than Jay, though; he might get fired because he's baited the animatronics to tackle each other and now they're damaged, or he sprayed the fire extinguisher at them and now they're covered in foam, rusting their endos. He's not quitting, but he's also not taking the job seriously. Unless someone he cares about asked him to do it; if there's a reason to keep the job, he'll bother to mitigate the damage or at least tidy up after himself.

Gil: He does answer the phone. He doesn't quite manage to read between the lines; he takes Phone Guy's careful wording to avoid heavily implicating the company as genuine. So, when Phone Guy says "There's nothing to worry about," "The characters do get quirky at night," "They tend to wander a bit," "First day should be a breeze," he takes all of that as just as significant as the warnings about being forcefully shoved inside a suit and dying. So, Gil's takeaway is, "It could be dangerous if I'm not careful, but Phone Guy said I'll be fine." He also notices that Phone Guy specifically says "If they see you," so he might just blindfold the animatronics and be completely safe. Those things don't have the dexterity to remove a blindfold. The danger is 100% averted. Maybe they still wander, since they've memorized the building, but they don't see him when they do. He will keep working there until he's fired.

like i said, i'm very obsessed with bub and its characters so i couldn't resist doing a little ask meme for jihoon and eden. here are the questions i used!

who is the most affectionate? jihoon! that guy really loves taking care of eden any way he can. he's also veeeery touchy with people he cares about.

big spoon/little spoon? depends on the mood they're in. whoever needs more love and affection in the moment gets to be the little spoon.

most common argument? i think most conflicts stem from their difference in experience. jihoon has known he is queer for a while and was in at least one relationship with a guy before while eden is completely new to 1) dating and 2) dating guys. there's different expectations going in and i think it takes a while before they find common ground. though generally speaking i don't think they argue much.

favorite non-sexual activity? holding hands!!! also cuddling. they probably take naps together too. (dajun has a whole folder of photos of them sleeping draped over each other backstage.)

who is most likely to carry the other? jihoon would totally carry eden around just to tease him, even in public/in front of fans. eden does NOT like it!

what is their favorite feature of their partner’s? jihoon likes eden's eyes (lashes!), lips and hands. eden very obviously has a thing for jihoon's abs. (also his hands and his voice.)

what’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other? jihoon's teasing turns into genuine affection. (and he's VERY affectionate.) for eden the realization that he's in love with jihoon mostly changes how he views himself.

nicknames? and if so, how did they originate? i can imagine jihoon calling eden "jagiya" or something smiliar in front of fans but i don't think he does it often when they're in private. eden only calls jihoon "hyung" but with the sweetest voice.

who worries the most? jihoon! he's super protective. eden is too, but he's a lot more quiet about it.

who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant? they both do. i'm pretty sure eden has watched every interview of jihoon he could get his hands on to find out what he likes and dislikes. (that's his first boyfriend ever, he wants to do a good job, okay?)

who initiates kisses? in the beginning mostly jihoon. but with time eden becomes more forward and then it's pretty much equal. (eden will not initiate kisses in front of their friends/family though! unlike jihoon, who doesn't give a damn.)

who reaches for the other’s hand first? jihoon (as we've seen repeatedly).

who kisses the hardest? i think it's eden actually. i can imagine jihoon being very careful in the beginning since he knows eden's never been in a relationship before. so eden is the one who has to take things up a notch.

who wakes up first? eden. he got used to it during his trainee days. jihoon is a bit of a nightowl.

who wants to stay in bed just a little longer? jihoon. he'll try to bribe eden into staying with him by offering cuddles. (it works more often than not.)

who says "i love you" first? eden, as we've seen.

who leaves little notes in the others one's lunch? (bonus: what does it usually say?) i can imagine eden leaving silly little notes for jihoon when they have seperate schedules. it's mostly badly drawn animals (a lot of portraits of soonshim) or smiley faces along with something like "hwaiting" or "have a nice day". jihoon keeps them all.

who tells their family/friends about their relationship first? eden tells jay pretty much immediately. (they start facetiming regularly after jay leaves for the us.) after that they both talk to dajun and ceo nicki. (it's not a very pleasant conversation. jihoon is still pissed at nicki for selling them out.)

what do their family/friends think of their relationship? we don't really know much about their family situations but i think eden's family would be worried for him at first because they know how risky being gay is in the korean entertainment industry. when they see what good care jihoon takes of eden though they are fully supportive. (especially grandma! she LOVES jihoon.) i don't know why but i don't imagine jihoon being close to his family. so maybe he wouldn't tell them at all? his friends (the ones he's really close to who know he's queer) are super sweet to eden though. they pamper him a lot. (they're just really happy that jihoon is finally smiling again.)

who is more likely to start dancing with the other? i can imagine eden initiating little dance-offs to cheer jihoon up when he's feeling down. (he took that interview where jihoon said the likes to dance when he's stressed to heart.)

who cooks more/who is better at cooking? they're both not amazing but jihoon can actually produce something edible unlike eden who can make ramyeon and nothing else.

who comes up with cheesy pick up lines? neither, i think. if they have to do it as fanservice, jihoon is better at it though. (eden can only flirt when he's drunk or when he's not aware he's doing it.)

who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times? jihoon, though he never does it when it could get them in trouble or when eden's actually uncomfortable.

who needs more assurance? jihoon! his relationship with hyunbin has left him with A LOT of trust issues.

what would be their theme song? isn't it "evergreen"? i also live in the firm belief that jihoon has written several songs for/about eden. (still sad that they didn't include him also being a songwriter/producer in the series.)

who would sing their child back to sleep? both together! they make up silly little duets on the spot.

what do they do when they’re away from each other? be miserble because they miss each other haha. but also call a lot. (eden likes listening to jihoon's voice as he falls asleep.)

one headcanon about this otp that breaks your heart what would happen if they were ever outed or decided to go public with their relationship. it's one of the most interesting aspects of the series but also one of the most painful to think about.
