damn 😭 no matter how kind and good natured I make her, she still ends up as a villain
#ooc : the mortal#How's that for complexity akjdsh#She might be too complex even for me lol#Loss of control over yourself and the world around you would surely make you do desperate things#It's that saying: you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain#I have no idea what's in store for her#I either see her dying for good or figuring out a way together with her family & the help of Heaven to get things on a better track#But Lilith alone won't win this fight

Can you elaborate on your comment on Discord that "[TOH characters in general] get a lot of backstory but little connects with their present character"?
*looks at every Hunter fan out there* How do we feel about the fact that this kid was literally raised to kill wild witches and be the Golden Guard but the only fighters in the main cast who are worse than him are the literal child and the illusionist?
Hunter is easily the most obviously egregious one but also the one that actually has a potential magical slide. After all, we don't actually know if Hunter has been alive for sixteen years. He potentially could have been alive for probably only five, thus making it so he has time to be trained and indoctrinated but was also 'old' enough to be easier to handle, left alone, etc. like that. Of course... That doesn't really fix the larger problem with Hunter's backstory versus his present day character, is it?
See, this is how I would breakdown what the theoretical present day concept for each character is that Luz meets versus the backstory version: Eda: Irreverent criminal who is only out for herself and probably would just be committing larger scale crimes for funsies if not for the curse. Backstory: Lovable scamp with a heart of gold who only ever does jokes, nothing actually bad and look at this child she adopted and totally won't threaten with rent later on.
Amity: A driven, goal obsesses girl who will do anything to be the best. Even simply losing the title and not being made to look like a fool is enough to warrant someone needing to die and she bullies the weak for fun and superiority. Backstory: Felt bad for hurting her teammates for personal glory and victory (those same teammates she will tell to eat a dick in that same episode), only bullied Willow for her own sake, frankly would rather just be a little goofball than actually succeed at anything.
Lilith... Okay, frankly it's more that S2 Lilith makes absolutely no sense with S1 Lilith. If they hadn't entirely warped her character, her backstory is actually pitch perfect for her grown up self, even down to being a little silly and caring about her sister. A LITTLE silly mind you.
Golden Guard: Actually fits the backstory as the rage and confidence of youth mixed with too much power and indoctrination make for an incredibly dangerous, close to unhinged Kylo Ren clone who will go from joking to I WILL MURDER YOU! if you don't take him seriously or annoy him.
Hunter: I'm just a widdle silly guy who can't even gut check a girl and force her to give me my staff. I am all for wild magic because maybe it can save my uncle, despite my uncle's problems being caused by wild magic. I will literally never win a fight alone except against Kikimora, the closest to a true, reoccurring gag villain that the series has.
Now yes: A character can grow and change as they get older. It can be a fun joke to have a prim and proper character have been a nightmare as a toddler. But this isn't how TOH portrays these backstory moments commonly. Much of the time, the backstory is meant to effectively be in the place of real moments in a character arc.
Take Amity's moment with Willow. In a normal character arc, this is the chance for the character to prove that they have a good heart and are maybe not as mean as they seem. However, Amity already has done that at least once with confessing to not wanting to see Luz hurt in Adventure in the Elements, if her diary didn't already do this in combination with not holding onto her rage against Luz there in Lost in Language. So they HAVE to put it as a backstory moment or it wouldn't be notable. Except... It would have? Hell, they even try to frame it as a kindness to Willow at the beginning which is a good idea because Amity's first appearance was being cruel to Willow but now that she's changed some but hasn't interacted with Willow since episode 6, she needs to show some kindness to her. But it's ALL kindness because they've already fully transitioned into good girl Amity so rather than feeling like a growth moment, it's to justify what they're doing. To say "Of course her development isn't this rushed because it's not development! It's just the old Amity coming back out."
The moment with the Thorn Vault is similar. A character like Amity SHOULD have a moment where she decides success isn't everything and steps back so as to allow someone else to take the spotlight if it means doing less harm. It's a good idea for a moment in her arc. But again: Amity has already moved past that part of her arc. She hasn't been focused on success or being the best since her SECOND APPEARANCE. And this is her last one in S1 so it goes into the backstory to show that she does understand the consequences of her actions rather than having it be a part of her arc.
Frankly, this stuff is just a part of a different blog I need to make about how Amity episodes are strangely NOT about Amity. She actually doesn't factor into them much so her arc feels bad because even episodes like Lost in Language or Adventure in the Elements only have five minutes of Amity at most.
Meanwhile for someone like Eda or Hunter, it's retcons. Eda needs to be convincingly like Momma Eda so making her actually motherly with King when they first met is a good idea... But it contrasts all they did in S1. Hunter is meant to show the cruelty of Belos but they want him to already be the sad but mad boy by the halfway point of the season (which btw, halfway through S1, Amity was already borrowing an Azura book from Luz showing compromise, kindness and connection, much like Hunter connecting with Amity's fears, almost giving into her speech about kindness and adopting Flapjack. There's a reason I say the shortening did fuck all to these character arcs because they follow the same god damned patterns) so that stuff needs to be in the backstory, like his scout training.
And to me, that is the antithesis of a backstory. Unless the point is that they're different from who they used to be, which it's often not for TOH, it should reinforce what we know about them. How did they get to the point they're at. It's actually one of the only strengths narratively of Them's the Breaks because the final challenge by Terra is a good moment to make Eda start rethinking her long term goals and if she likes the coven system at all.
It would just work way better if her present day character was anti-coven because it pits people against each other and tears the Isles apart instead of just "It makes you way less cooler than me because I can do ALL styles of magic." As such... It's them acknowledging what a good motivation in the setting and plot would have been but recognizing it too late so they have to add it as a retcon.
And you can only get away with that trick so many times before it feels like your story is a house of cards trying to pretend it's made out of stone.

"I'm not trying to be nosy. I'm just concerned about you, that's all." With Aimée and Kuze
And
“Please, dont take any unnecessary risks.” With Beelby and Lilith
Concerned Starters
It was something familiar to him about the place Aimée picked for a date with him... he looked at the sea in the back... the streets before him and moreso that Cafe they stayed at... as he noticed a small stone Monument embded into the wall... as he looked at it an old woman talked to him in a quite voice.
"Some years ago a Young man was hit by a truck around these parts... his parents were quite rich and devasted about the loss of her son... but the more curious thing Was his body was never found... so they hoped with that Monument... maybe one day they could lead his soul back to him. You are a Young lad too, right? Make sure to cherish the life you have."
Kuze went silent... something was pressing against his head... as if he had a slight realization but as it led up he bowed before the woman.
"Thank you for the advice. "
Soon Aimée came back to their seat with two parfaits of ice cream... looking at him silent... barely touching it at all.
"The flavour not to your liking, dear?"
"No that's not it I... Nevermind. "
"I'm not trying to be nosy. I'm just concerned about you. That's all."
He took a deep breath...
"Hearing about the Story made me think... as if I suddenly felt some memories return... why did I hear about this incident... it concerns me a little given what I am..."
"You mean... that you..."
"She talked about a Young man... and Yasuno said he died as well and got resurrected... so I..."
The blond sat closer to him and put her hand on his shoulder.
"No matter what the truth is... who you are now is more important, right? It be nice to know the truth but... what if it leads you to things you never wanted to know about? Either choice you make, won't change how much I love you... just be sure to not lose your memory again... even if it sounds like a romance movie... I do not want to have to win your heart over again."
"I-I know... thank you Aimée. "
He slurped ok his parfait and gave her and embarrassed smile.
"I hardly could forget you really... you are just too dear to me."
It was finally a day where the Demon wasn't busy and had time to accompany Lilith in a walk through the gardens... enjoying unusual peace in his life... he remembered however... it was that day... the day he first seen her... when her horrid fate began... seeing her face he couldn't help but look down a little.
"Whats wrong?"
"Nothing... its fine my lovely Lilith... just thinking about if I have any idea how to make life easier on you."
"Please don't take any unnecessary risks. I know you are strong but I also do know how you also like to make yourself enemies, Beel."
He chuckled and put a hand to her face, cupping it.
"And even if I had to fight the whole World I would do it but... I know how much I am allowed to do... do not worry. Just making sure I explore anything I can do for you."
She squeezed his hand and held him closer.
"Thank you. For all that you try really. If only the day would arrive where I don't have to live with this blood Hunger."
"I would let you pull any drop out of me. We will make it... Somehow... I asked milady Vanessa in case for advice.. but for now lets not Sour your mood... we came here to take a breather. I will make sure you will know once I have an idea."
The butterflies followed them...among the pretty garden where they could be alone and talk just without any disturbances.

Let King Play Catch
This started as an answer to a comment JTSculpts on my fic 'In The Crumbling World We Remain Standing on AO3"
Weeks passed since the Collector had been tamed and a human real portal rebuilt. King was, admittedly, still terrified every time Luz would pass through it. So afraid, in fact, that many times they would keep the door open, the door that now looked into Camila's garage instead of the old house, so that he knew that his sister could still come back.
This day, however, was not one of those days. On this day, everyone gathered in the Owl House, which was slowly being refilled with clutter.
Willow and Amity were sparring in the yard, with the Emira and Gus cheering on. Near them, Eber was teaching Edric beast-keeping tricks. Hunter and Luz were supposedly talking to Lilith and Derwin about glyphs, but half the time they just stared at the sparring witches, so Lilith ended up rambling about glyph combos to Derwin alone. In the corner of the room, Eda was re-learning how to strum on her lyre, with Raine leaning next to her. Katya, Steve, Amber, Alador and Vee were playing hexus holdem, with the catch being that whatever cards Vee would get, she had the right to eat. The young basilisk would only ever come to the Owl House in the demon realm, no other part of it felt safe for her. Gwen, Camila and Gilbert Park were in the kitchen, the three people with widely different cooking styles preparing meals that would suit everyone. Darius played chess with Perry porter with Harvey Park and Dell occasionally commenting on their moves.
King look at his family and friends. After he found out the truth about himself, and through the fight with Belos and his subsequent time with the Collector, he could've only dreamed of a scene like this. A day like he would usually only see in Crystal Ball or TV shows. A day that was so perfect it didn't seem real.
Well, one thing could still make it better.
The little titan approached his grandfather, who was currently in a somewhat heated discussion about legitimacy of one of Perry's moves. "Oh, here comes my little rascal," Dell said, bending over and picking him up, "What do you say? Was that a fair move?"
"No idea! I know nothing about chess!"
"Well, then, I'll have to teach you one day!"
"I still say it's a foul move!" Darius insisted, "but fine if you have to cheat to win, have it!"
"Well, then, I take it back. I won't win while you believe that I haven't!" Perry moved his pawn back where it was.
"Ugh, seems complicated," King said, "Um, Grandpa?"
"Yes," Dell asked.
"Could we play catch? Right after the battle, you promise, but if your arm hurts or something..."
Dell chuckled, "My arm is fine. Now, let's say if my throwing arm is still any good, shall we?"
"EEEK!" King exclaimed, "I'll get a glove and a ball!" he said excitedly and scurried off.
10 minutes later, an old witch and a tiny titan played catch in the field next to the old tower. Raine and Eda stopped their practising and leaned on the window watching their son who would grin at them proudly every time he'd catch a ball.
He may not have a dad. But he had a grandpa, and a grandma, and a mum, a parent and a sister. And so many people that ere family even if he didn't have particular titles for them. Even Camila was in his family now.
Playing catch with his grandpa felt fantastic and, while life was still complicated and messy, in that moment, as he ran after a ball he missed, it felt like it was all good in the world.

Day 28 of the 31 day fan fiction challenge!!
Enjoy!
It's too late
Hunter groans. He gets up slowly and starts to look around. He is dazed for a few seconds until he sees a oval-shaped device on the ground, along with a note.
"Oh no."
_______________________________________________
It's quiet at the Owl House, for a change. Eda and Lilith are discussing plans to get into Belos's castle. Raine, Luz, and King are playing a quick game of Hexes Hold 'em.
"I still can't believe Hunter and Amity went out to shop together," Raine says while laying down a card.
"Hopefully they don't come back with a limb missing," King laughs.
Just then, Hunter burst through the door and is panicking.
"Woah kid. Where's the fire?" Eda asks.
"They captured Amity."
Lilith looks at him. "Who captured Amity?"
"The Emperor's Coven."
Luz gets up and is ready to slap Hunter again, but stops when she sees the look in his eyes.
"How did this happen?" Luz questions.
"To be honest, I don't know. One minute, we were walking along and then the next thing I remember was waking up on the pavement." He digs around in his pocket and grabs both things. "They forgot to grab this and they must've left this note."
Luz grabs both, opens the note, and starts reading. Luz feels the anger rise inside of her and puts the note down.
"What did the note say?" Eda asks.
"I'm being challenged to a Witch's Duel by the Emperor for Amity's release."
"Luz, you can't do that!" Lily says. "I know you're a strong witch, but you can't face him alone."
"Did you forget that I already did once and won?" Luz raises her voice. "I'm more powerful now than back then. And I'm fighting for my girlfriend."
Luz runs to grab her cloak and is about to head out the door, until Raine steps in.
"We're coming with you," they say.
Luz is about to protest, but knows that she won't win. She nods and they head off to go rescue Amity.
______________________________________________
The group walks into a poorly lit arena. Luz enters first and when she does, the gates close behind her. She whips around to see the gang is okay, but they all know that the gang will be spectators in this battle.
"Ah human. I see you got my invitation."
Belos emerges from the shadows.
"Release Amity!" Luz yells.
"You know I can't do that. You have agreed to fight for her."
"Well, come down here and fight me!"
Belos lets out an evil laugh. "Silly human. I'm not going to fight you, but she will."
Luz looks at the other side of the arena. Blue eyes are glaring at her. The eyes start to move closer until they are standing in the light. The fighter pulls back their hood.
The gang gasps.
"Amity?"
"Hello Luz. Glad we get to fight again."
Luz yells to Belos, "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!?"
"I need a strong witch like her in my coven and if she can defeat you, she's in my coven."
"You know what I'm talking about!"
"Oh the blue eyes thing. Well, it's a new idea I'm trying it because my last idea to gain control over unruly witches didn't go well."
Eda squeezes Raine's arm and they both look at Luz.
"Now, let's get this duel starting, shall we?"
The bell screams and Amity starts to create abominations. Luz runs away from them and starts to use her glyphs on the creatures.
"Amity! It's me, Luz!"
Amity growls. "I know who you are! You're the human who's made my life miserable ever since you came here!"
Luz winces, but knows that Amity doesn't mean it.
"Oh man. That was low," Hunter comments.
Both girls are battling each other, and Luz is starting to feel tired. "C'mon Amity! Remember Grom? We defeated it together!"
"You mean you took my chance at defeating it by myself!"
Luz ducks at the abomination coming towards her.
"I don't want to hurt you."
"Well that's too bad because you're going to lose."
The gang helplessly watches as each girl trades blows to each other, and Luz has the most of them.
"Good work Amity," Belos comments. "Now let's end it, shall we?"
Amity smiles and summons an abomination. Luz's eyes go wide in fear and she starts running. Luz is firing ice glyphs at the abomination to slow it down but it doesn't seems to be working.
"Amity, please. I'm your girlfriend."
Luz notices it, but the others don't, that when she said that, the abomination got smaller. She has an idea to off in her head.
"Think of all the dates we have gone on. The library, the Knee, our Grom Tree."
Amity's face becomes softer, but again, only noticable to Luz. She starts walking closer to Amity. "Think of all the times we've hung out together. Try to remember."
"It's too late, human. She's mine and there's no way you're bringing her back," Belos says. "Amity, finish it NOW!"
The old, harden look in Amity's face is back, but Luz is able to wrap her arms in vines to stop her.
"I'm sorry but I have to do this."
She walks over to Amity.
"Find a way out Blight! You're stronger than she is!" Belos yells from his spot.
"You are amazing, Amity. You are my awesome girlfriend and I'm not going to let Belos stand in the way of us."
Amity is thrashing around, trying to escape the vines. Luz goes over and cups Amity's face. She relaxes a bit to Luz's touch. They both look into each other's eyes.
"I love you, Amity Blight."
Luz kisses Amity with passion. Everyone remains silent until Luz pulls away. Luz opens her eyes to see a pair of amber eyes looking back at her.
"Luz?"
"Amity!"
Luz hugs Amity while Belos screams in anger.
"I thought that would work! That magic was so powerful" He screams.
"Well Belos, you forgot about one thing," Luz confidentially says. "Love is the most powerful magic of all." They, once again, start to kiss.
Lily and Raine are smiling at the two lovebirds.
"She had to same something cheesy," Eda groans.
Hunter and King are pretending to throw up.
Belos is sickened by their affection and leaves in anger.
They pull away and start to blush.
"Luz, how did you know that was going to work?"
She rubs the back of her head. "I saw that every time I mentioned us, life romantically, your magic slowed down a bit."
Amity smiles. "Thank you Luz for saving me. And know that I don't really think all of those things that I said."
Luz laughs it off and hugs her girlfriend.
"Can we please stop with the PDA? We're going to kill Hunter over here!" Eda yells at them.
The gang laughs and heads back to the Owl House to relax after a stressful past few hours.

ADDITIONALLY: the demon knife has always symbolized not going down a path that leads to becoming a monster. In 3.16, Sam goes behind Dean's back, summoning Ruby to try and save Dean's life explicitly against Dean's wishes. Dean figures out Sam is going to go behind his back, and uses it as an opportunity to trick Ruby and gets the demon knife, and then he pleads with Sam to let Dean fight or die fighting to preserve his own life with this last ditch play to kill Lilith with the knife—not through a deal with Ruby that Dean is certain will turn sour. He begs Sam not to work with Ruby in his name. Sam agrees for the time being, but when Dean is dead, Sam casts aside his dying wish.
After finding out about Sam's powers in 4.04, Dean pleads with Sam to use the knife, to which Sam shouts back that his powers allow him to save the victim. This is the conversation they almost repeat in 5.02, when Sam says he wishes he still had the power to save victims of possession. However, we know from 4.20 and 4.22 that that "good" aspect of drinking demon blood doesn't stick around as a result of how the demon blood affects Sam's inhibitions and the increasing appetite that eventually results in him needing enough demon blood to kill. The path to destruction paved with good intentions.
In 4.07, Sam falsely presents his powers as an option against Samhain that he won't consider without Dean as his hunting partner also agreeing. Dean pleads with him—begging him to work as a team and use the demon knife together against Samhain. Sam takes the knife, only pretending to agree, but ends up leaving Dean to save a bunch of trapped teenagers being attacked by zombies by himself so he can face Samhain alone.
So Dean handing Sam the knife in 5.04 is a symbol of his trust in Sam not to drink blood, and also a symbol of the fact that together, as Dean says in that conversation, they can "Keep each other human".
Croatoan virus being the method of choice used to kill all the humans in that alternate reality isn't a mistake. It's a call back to 2.09, which was about John's last words having the potential to lead Dean down a path where he makes moral compromises Dean doesn't want to make—that Dean fears would turn him into a monster. Sam pleads with him in that episode not to kill someone they think is infected with Croatoan virus, and Dean listens. Endverse Dean blows people he thinks are infected with the virus away without a thought. He uses the torture skills he learned in hell to interrogate people. He compromised himself and turned himself into someone Dean doesn't want to be, because Endverse Dean felt he had no choice. Endverse Dean, just like Sam, was lead down a path that turned him into someone who would compromise his own moral principles and turn himself into a monster just to win. Handing Sam the demon knife is not only a symbol of Dean placing trust in Sam, but also a symbol of them working together instead of apart, and holding each other accountable.
Dean giving Sam the demon knife at the end of 5.04 is him placing trust in Sam without Sam proving a single thing to him. If you even care.

Luz asks Amity to help her bake a cake for Willow's birthday. Chaos ensues.
Wh‐what!?"
Luz smiled angelically at her, leaning closer which made Amity's heart skip a beat.
"I said, do you wanna help me bake a birthday day cake for Willow's party?"
"Yes!–I mean, sure y-yeah," Amity stammered out, "but didn't she already have her birthday?"
"I mean yeah, but she was sick that day," Luz said, "I don't really get alot of the illnesses that you guys have, but I do know being sick in general sucks Hooty egg's.. this way she'll get to celebrate her birthday properly with her friends!"
Oh titan her heart, this girl would be the death of her;
"Wow, that's really kind of you Luz, does Willow know what kind of cake she wants?"
"Well you see that's the thing," The human said lowering her voice, "it's a surprise, We have to keep it on the down low."
"Got it," Amity said, nodding, "alright I'll help."
Luz beamed grabbing her hand's, "Thanks Amity, you're the best!"
Before she knew what was happening she was being pulled into one of the girl's signature, crushing hugs. All logic and reason left her for a moment until Luz pulled back and started saying something else. Amity mentally shook herself and tried to focus on anything but the fact Luz was now holding her hand's again.
"–I'll share the juicy details with you later, ok?" The other teen was saying now, "this is gonna be great!"
Before she could respond Luz was already sprinting off down the school corridors to her next class. Amity stood there dumbfounded for a moment trying to process what just happened.
"Amity, why arn't you in class right now?" Principal Bump said, walking by and breaking her from her trance.
"Oh, sorry!"
––––
Luz knew her friend had arrived the moment she heard shrill screams from the front of the house. She thundered down the stairs and rushed to Hooty's door, but before she got there, it slammed open and Amity was revealed on the other side, a murderous glint in her eye's and a pink fame in her hand.
Hooty noticed her then;
"LUZ SAVE ME, YOURE FRIEND IS CRAZY!!" He screeched. Some of his feathers were singed.
Amity winced and went to finish the job. Uh-oh.
Luz darted to her, grabbing her wrist. The physical contact seem to rile the girl up further.
"I warned that thing never to talk to me again." She growled, trying to break free.
Hooty squaked in fear.
Luz wrapped an arm around her, half comforting and half restraining, guiding the other kid inside, "It's OK, it's over now."
"I just said hi!" Hooty cried and they both ignored him.
The door shut on his voice, and the two girls were alone then. Amity calmed down after a moment or two.
"Sorry about that..," The witch said, "he's just so.." She shuddered then.
"Don't worry about it," Luz said sympathetically, "I still sometimes freak out when I see him. Not everything on the Isles is charmingly weird."
She eventually led her friend into the kitchen.
They took stock of what they need from an old cook book, Luz had found rooting around the house. This particular book was previously being used as a table leg for a random desk.. She'd put it back later.
"OK," Amity said,"what do we do?"
"Um.. I thought you'd know," Luz said sheepishly.
"Wait, why would I know how to bake a cake?" Her friend frowned.
"I don't know, you're smart!" Luz exclaimed, "..I thought you'd y'know, know how.. that's why I asked you."
She didn't miss the blush amity gave at that. Well she does like people recognising her ability.. it must be that.
"Alright," Amity said then, "where's the Owl Lady, maybe she knows what to do?"
Luz shook her head, "Eda's at the market. She won't be back for hours.."
" ..Well I guess we'll just have to make do with what we know," she continued, "and really, how hard can it be for the two of us to bake a cake?"
Her cooking partner frowned at that, "I'd imagine it's difficult when you don't know what you're doing Luz."
"Pshh, we've eaten cake before! We know what good food tastes like, it's all we need!" The teen said trying to hype her friend up;
"we've got a cook book, we've got our wit's and we've got the power of friendship–"
–Nothing can go wrong!" Luz declared.
––––
Everything was going wrong.
"Is it supposed to look like that?" Amity asked her partner.
Luz tried to whipe flour from her face, only smudging it further, she then turned to consult the cook book;
"well it says the mixture should be be kind of a liquid.."
Amity watched the mixture wave at them.
"Does the book mention the batter growing sentience?" Amity said frowning.
"No.." luz sighed.
"We should start over," Amity told her.
"You're probably right." The Luz agreed.
The batter agreed too.
––––
1 hour later.
"I don't really know what's edible in here," Luz admitted, after Amity thoroughly burnt the previous mixture when it tried to eat them.
The smell of smoke still hung in the kitchen, and the fourteen year old opened a window.
"You'd think most foods in a kitchen would be." Amity grunted.
"Well my cooking buddy, I guess we're just gonna have to continue with the process of elimination!" Luz told her.
Amity groaned and luz took out another carton of spider eggs.
––––
3 hours later.
Luz ran a batter covered hand through her dark hair, slicking it back with a white clump of goo. Amity honestly had to say; this is the only time her crush has looked ridiculous to her.
"I think we've got it this time, this is the perfect batter that won't try and talk philosophical nonsense with us, unlike the last three batches." The brown eyed teen sighed in relief.
"I think you're right," Amity agreed, "let's just pour it into a cake tin and be done with this."
Luz nodded, and went to pour the batter into their chosen tin;
"For willow," She said weakly.
"For willow, Amity returned with as much enthusiasm.
––––
15 minutes later.
"WHAT IN TITANS NAME WHERE YOU TWO DOING!?"
Her mentor's sister, had rushed Into the house at the smell of smoke. apparently she'd thought the house was on fire.
Luz and Amity now stood with their head's down covered in soot, abomination sludge and cake mix, completely mortified as the adult infront of them continued to berate them;
"I have never seen anything like this in all my life!" Lilith said, "and I've seen some serious incompetence in my time, but never something like this!"
Neither girl dared to say a word.
"I expected this from my sister's apprentice, but Amity Blight, I expected more from you." She continued crossing her arms.
Luz watched her friend's cheek's flush in shame.
"I mean what we're you thinking?" Lilith said, "an all out brawl with a cake demon in the kitchen? You almost burnt the house down, how am I supposed to explain this to Edalyn?"
She had an idea then;
" Explain this to Edalyn.. what do you mean by that?"
"Well, she left me encharge, while she went to the mar–oh no, I know that look. It's the same one Edalyn makes."
Luz grinned at her.
"I won't be blackmailed human." Lilith warned.
"So this is technically your fault," Luz said smugly, "your not gonna tell Eda about this, because you need this place."
"This is extortion!" Lilith growled.
"Nah, it's revenge." The teen quipped.
"Luz what you doing?" Amity hissed, voice hushed while pulling her aside and giving her a disproving look.
"Its for Willow," Luz pleaded," plus you don't wanna see Eda when she's mad, she made Me, Willow and Gus clean the entire house top to bottom after we animated it. plus this is Lilith. trust me on this."
Her friend looked conflicted for a moment, Luz could see her weighing up the morality of it behind her golden eyes;
"Fine, do what you need to do," She eventually conceded.
Luz gave a nod and turned back to the disgruntled woman.
"Eda doesn't need to know about this, we can all win here," They said.
Lilith scoffed, "How so?"
"We just have to clean up this mess, and you have to bake us a birthday cake."
The witch's eyebrows shot up at that, "That's a strange demand, why a birthday cake?"
"It's for a friend," Luz said.
"Fabulous, well I don't cook, and I certainly don't bake cakes for your snot nosed little friend's." Lilith sneered.
"You don't have a choice here," Amity pressed joining in now.
Lilith looked to her with mild shock; She seemed to realise there was no real way out of this.
"Fine." She growled, "five minutes with my Sister and you've both turned into criminals."
––––
Willow's surprise party had gone off without a hitch. Gus had provided the intertainment and Luz and Amity had carted out Lilith's cake.
"Aw guys," Willow had said, "you didn't have to do this!"
"You're our friend," Luz had said, "no amount of monster fighting and black mail is too much for you."
Amity had silently agreed.
Willow and Gus had looked confused then, but Luz and Amity knew the truth, and as they'd both dozed off, head's on each others shoulder's in the middle of the party, they knew they'd be haunted by their actions forever.

Siren forfeiting only ripples the laughter throughout the entirety of the crowd.
"Won't fight you on that. Maybe a whole dinner and a drink." Sam assents in embarrassment, though, she guessed....she won? What a victory. It makes her laugh as she rises to her feet, dusting off her clothes.
"The butthole, man?" Quinn grins at her as she takes a seat, clasping a hand on Sam's shoulder. "Who knew you'd be coming up in the rear?"
"Shut up, dude." She laughs with a shrug. "I did win, though..."
"Damn it, Sam! Now I have to change my strategy." Beatrix glances down the line at Devin with a trifling smile before casting it to Siren. "Didn't think you were losing that one."
"Leave her alone Beatrix! Hasn't she suffered enough?!" Tek gropes at Siren with a dramatic, pained look, but it's broken by her giggles. "It's okay, you did your best! I'd give you a 'Good Job!' sticker!"
"Pfffffft." Shaun snorts, glancing over at Lilith. "Shit, I guess I should've bet on Sam. Can't say I saw...that happening." And it was only the first match. Dear god, this night was already too much. Not a whisper of IKEA to be seen.
Tek's Birthday!
"Oh my god!" Siren yelps in panic as her hips jolt in the light of an unconsenting backdoor being flung open. What a day to wear thin boxer. Quickly scrambling her ass away from Sam, a leg still remains over her as she rests on her palms. Any sense of anger was immediately gone with confusion and pure shock taking it's place. "Who told you?!" The only person in this house that knew was Quinn; and that came up after too many drinks. Did she say something?! Why would Sam do that?!?
"Whoa! WHOA! STOP THE MATCH!!" Quick to swoop in, Rebel stands over the two, wildly waving her arms. "You can't just stick fingers in people's buttholes, Sam!!!"
As tense as Robin was before in observing them fight, she immediately ejects into hysterical laughter. That's what happened?? "Damn, Siren! Maybe you should've kept in your clit ring!!"
--------------
A wave of relief washes over her as Siren loosens the hold on her neck, though her heart still thrums hard in her ears. In the sudden tumult, it takes her a moment to even register what Siren said, but when it does—along with Rebel's sudden descent on them—Sam can only let out a shameful laugh as her head tilts back to look at their stunned referee. "I panicked..."
Tek had remained in tense silence as soon as the match began. She didn't even know what Sam had done at first; but as soon as the knowledge washed over her—and the fact that Siren apparently had a proclivity towards the booty—she shrieks in boisterous laughter.
Beatrix was right there with her; she honestly didn't expect all of this to be so closely matched. But Sam had evidently put her finger in Siren's ass. She immediately cackles right alongside Tek, tears springing readily in her eyes. "I thought that was more of your thing, Sam!"
Of course, the comment and her own actions sinking in flushes a slight red in Sam's face. Shit... "Sorry." She laughs with a slight wince; she didn't think this was going to happen in the first few weeks with a new roommate. Welcome to the house!
