I'm still alive and making art despite my silence the past while- Here's the result of the horrible cold I've had the past couple weeks, you should be fed for another month at least with this, methinks. Version without the text and glow, plus the inspo under the cut

Now why is the French translation hosted on Webtoon SO much better than the official English translation, holy shit...(I know the bar is not high, but still...Having access to such an improved alternative on Webtoon itself...)
#tower of god#gotta post some excerps if even only for my own reference/easy enjoyment because hello???#not only am I sure that they're straight up closer to the text but it's also just...so much more epic as a reading experience??#(I've only read all the Zahard and most of the Traumerei scenes so far but there is still so much stuff that's just...better lol)#Wish I was more fluent so I had to stop and look up words less fequently but c'est la vie#highly recommend to anyone capable of moderate french for sure though as said#cannot speak for anything beyond the Zahard/big lore and Traumerei sections so far but highly optimistic#(now obviously some stuff is the same regardless of translation. but for anything beyond the very basics#even seeming minor differences in expressing the same thing just feel so much better here...#“Zahard quickly developed feelings for her” vs “right from the start Zahard had a crush on her” as just one example#but there are also many scenes where it's 1) less ambiguous 2) added extra meaning)

okay but what if I turned what was supposed to be a quick fic surrounding *one* of Neve's case into a 2 part (maybe more???) fic with at least two other interconnected cases and also add a lil of slow burn. as a treat
#also some memory fuckery. as an extra treat for me#if i can figure out how to connect 2 of the cases in a way that makes plausible sense then maybe I'll post the first few chapters#idk how this will work bc i think some of the stuff im adding will be confusing until its explained much laterr. hmmm. much to think about#i know no writer is happy with their writing but it's been so long since I've written something i dont even know my voice anymore >:/

i’ve been quiet on the art front for a little bit bc my hyperfixation with animal crossing came back and i gotta play it out until it tires itself out
my first animal crossing island waaaay back at the beginning of the pandemic was named Destiel and i made it mostly green and blue all throughout and woodsy but i hadn’t played in a year and a half so i nuked my island, started again, and then broke my switch’s screen so i nuked my island AGAIN [thankfully it wasn’t that far along lol]
and renamed it the OG name of the first island i had
it’s provided some funny dialogue exchanges
also this is what i mapped out on that little website and i’m getting close to it!
there’s more fun things now to decorate so i’m excite!
#i've changed a few things#like i added some extra hearts#campsire is near town hall#nothing is exactly to scale#but it's been fun#the middle is actually going to be various shops and a roadhouse#i'm basically making this a destiel vacation island lmao#i even have my house with a farm with stuff and flowers and their star watching area#i'm going to have dean have a boooooat#the basement will be a mechanics garage and the attic a flower craft room#farm for selling and fruit trees will only be on the valley island#houses i think i am going to put some up in the ridgeline and the island shops down on the bottom#bc the sightlines that will create are awesome#ANYWAY#SORRY

You're more amazing than :O
You're more amazing than an EX Drilltusk Tetsucabra corpse.
Also I had another dream where I was menaced by the passive presence of a giant monster. This time it was Shara Ishvalda rising out of some hole in the ground and staring at me.
For context, this is what Shara Ishvalda looks like:

#i beat all 16 drilltusk quests! including the extra-hard EX quest!#apparently it was a total fluke tho because i tried it again 3 times and died within the first 10 minutes every time#it was faster to clear than quest 15 and gave a lot of rewards so i wanted to do it again but oh well :(#triple damage is just too much to handle#anyway i think i've mentioned before my sorta-fear of Big Creatures?#giant looming creatures that just Stand There Menacingly#i remember i had at least one dream of a Big Looming Creature when i was really young#it was just my big dog plushie ruff-ruff but i was super super small so just staring up at the absolutely MASSIVE plush was. scary#xenoblade chronicles x probably added to my nervousness by giving me various Big Looming Creatures to feel nervous about#“wow what a neat mountain oh hey a ravine i wonder what's down there- JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!!”#monster hunter has not managed to make me feel this way. possibly because even the giants are very killable#you're Supposed to fight the giant whale/snake/dragon you aren't an insect it can swat away you're a threat an adversary#and it's not a danger to be avoided. it's your prey#meanwhile in xenoblade the giants will unavoidably rip you to shreds in seconds if you catch their attention#like you CAN fight them. but you're not going to be able to normally. they're postgame content#i've thought about the idea of a game focused on Big Looming Creatures#forcing you to interact with them and being in danger at their slightest movements#or actually maybe interacting with the giants would fail to capture the feeling. just like how monster hunter's giants aren't scary#maybe you're just gathering stuff and the giants are just threats#some will attack if you catch their attention. some can just kill you on accident. some might accidentally help (ex. by climbing on them)#the core is: you have to go near them. and when you do you will look up and see how they rise like mountains and block the sky#you will see how they turn their head and eclipse the sun#they will step in front of you and you'll see nothing but their leg#and you will dread the thought of one turning its gaze down to you#i should play shadow of the colossus#ka asks

Q&A
Q: Is this an x reader? A: This is a reader-insert, but it's not romantic and I try to keep it as neutral and unidentifiable as possible! Q: What's the plot? A: GENERALLY AND WITHOUT SPOILERS, your dog gets you into trouble and you're just looking to help him!
Q: Who is in the prologue? A: Tim, Brian, Toby, and Kate! More will be added in future chapters.
Q: When will future chapters be posted? A: Not sure! This took me about a month to do, and half was spent over winter break. I will try to get chapter 1 posted before summer, but I am a full-time student, employed, have extracurriculars, etc etc
ok thats all i only remember 4 questions feel free to ask more LMAO
CHATTER(because you know i can talk forever)
ok i just wanted to be able to talk about how the process was with this and how i feel about the results and whatnot...
ive been wanting to make a google slides visual novel since i was like 13 LOL it hit the point where i was repeatedly told i should just learn to code but i was like NOOOOO ITS GOTTA BE GOOGLE SLIDESSSS which is totally stupid but hey. i think that gives it some sort of simple charm that reminds me of being 16 and doing little projects in my room LOL i like working with the easiest tools . my bad
anyway. im just very happy LOL. it's not perfect but i feel like i came full circle in a sense?!?! i've been into creepypasta since i was 9 and it comforted me when things were really hard, and when i was 18 i was going through a really hard time and got back into creepypasta as a way to distract myself. i've always had a habit of throwing myself into fiction for escapism when things suuucked.
i'm 20 now but i've met SO many amazing people, had so many fun awesome exciting projects with friends, created tons of stuff im proud of, felt more motivated to create since i was like 13, have been inspired by so many amazing artists/authors on here, etc. just so so so lucky to find community in such a tight-knit cute fandom that thrives off of creativity and playing around! i hope i can keep the momentum and make a couple more chapters this year, but im kinda busy with school and work...LOL . i'm just excited to have this posted so i can have more discussion about it T_T
anyway thank you if you read this far and thank you if you played etc etc yaahhhhhh omg ok BYE THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING im just so grateful to be in this fandom

Let me give you, the internet, and mostly myself, some executive function advice.
Sometimes, when you find yourself somehow unable to do a thing you need or want to do, one issue might be that your brain has subconsciously tacked on extra tasks, and those tasks are making the whole thing too overwhelming!
Tl;dr: don't do that!
For example, I like to track the books I read and I've been meaning to add a few books I've recently finished. But my brain has added that I should also write a review, and the exact dates I read them (which I can't even remember) and oh by the way I should finish moving my stuff over to storygraph and before I know it that 1 task has turned into 4! And my executive functioning says no.
In fact, while I was getting the idea to write this post, my brain went "wouldn't it be nice to also write a post about y and tag them all properly and go back through my posts and find all mental health posts and tag those too" and wouldn't you know it. 4 tasks.
Discard those extra tasks. Don't even write them down. They don't matter. Strip it down to the 1 task you started with and only do that.
Sure, you won't have achieved some theoretical better end result but that end result was never gonna happen anyway. It was paralysing you from getting the initial task done. And maybe once that initial task is done, you can get to one (1! not 4!) additional task. Later. Not now.
Half-assing is better than no-assing.

Hey I'm hearing uh. More, and more, and more buzz about GLP-1 agonists like ozempic from random ppl and healthcare providers alike and there's like a terrifying lack of lucidity abt it so I just wanna say, if you've heard some stuff and are curious:
Ozempic is a chemically-aided crash diet. That's it.
Like metformin, an older diabetes medication used off-label for weight loss, it's functioning as an appetite suppressant in this use-case. It's not magic; it's not changing how your body makes or uses fat; it just makes it less miserable to eat less. It is contraindicated by histories of disordered eating and should absolutely not be prescribed without a full screening for above-adequate food intake and nutrition *and* ongoing screening for adequate nourishment/malnutrition: this is broadly not happening.
I've also seen no indication that ozempic/GLP-1 agonists are any less likely to lead to weight cycling (w/o constant use) than a straight crash diet, or do anything meaningful to limit the known, significant health risks of weight cycling.
Nothing has changed:
The main things we know from a western scientific perspective about weight and weight loss are that 1) almost all people who lose significant weight gain it back and 2) weight cycling causes cardiovascular and metabolic health complications. Yall we aint even have strong evidence to suggest that weight loss is beneficial to health conditions associated with higher weights. This *should* point to Dr's never ever reccomending weight loss (we do know it can hurt, don't know it can help) but yknow we live in uhhhh fucking world.
We are possibly ripe for an aggressive intensification of anti-fat medical rhetoric, especially in pediatrics
Among the projections for an RFK FDA that ive gotten from folks i know in these fields is a renewed focus on childhood obseity and general military-style fitness. As the ozempic fad has already been ramping up, I'm kinda! concerned! about this being a major point of focus for the oncoming administration--i figure we're ripe for another mass diet craze associated with a wide variety of deaths anyway and that existing cultural+market inertia added to it being literally on the agenda spells some not great things. I really seriously reccomend paying extra attention to this area.
Clinics love ozempic because it's extremely popular and extremely profitable--i even know someone who's job was threatened for refusing to prescribe it. We already know that we cant trust doctors to be informed around weight or for the system to sound public alarms.
Obviously, people have the right to do whatever they want--but the disclosure just isn't there and people are being sold this stuff based on the idea it'll make them *healthier* and prevent disease. It can't and it won't.
If the claims here about weight in general are new to you, start here: (Don't love the title of the article, second the exasperation)
If you want to understand more about glp-1 agonists specifically, like, start with the Wikipedia article and do some googling it lays out the pharmacology in relatively plain language. Sry i ain't doing a buncha work to find citations ppl won't click; there's not a lot of good critical stuff out there that's actually published but it doesn't actually take a lot of reading up on critical weight science to form a critical take on the sources singing ozempics praises.
Peace, good luck, do whatever you want forever, maybe tell ur mom that this isn't any different from the disastrous weight loss fads of the 90s.

The heat was getting to you.
You were slower, quieter, and had to pause often to catch your breath after standing up.
After carrying a case of water across the gym, your vision was getting splotchy again, and you placed a heavy hand on the wall. It was a nice, quiet, empty corner of the crowded gymnasium.
Kuroo had been watching your heavy-footed shuffle to the door ever since you dropped it off to Nekoma's distracted, tired players.
You had been less vocal, less silly, the way he liked to talk to you.
He called to you, thanking you, but you didn't hear him.
Your breathing was horribly loud in your own ears. Real ragged and difficult to just inhale. Your heartbeat was pounding against the sides of your head, adding to your near-permanent headache. The grip on the wall slipped, thanks to your sweaty palm, and you doubled forward.
The room started to spin as you did so.
"(Y/n)!"
"Woah-woahwoah!!"
Kuroo didn't wait to just standby, to watch you collapse. He was already moving when you didn't answer him. He just had too much distance to cover before your limp body smacked the hardwood floor.
He was first to get you by a mile-- he rolled you over and flinched at the sight of blood from where your head hit the floor.
"Coach!! Hospital!!"
It started an echo, and a lot of quieter questions. Coach Naoi was sprinting over as Kuroo, scared but steady with adrenaline, pulled off his jersey to put pressure on the gash.
"Ice!" He swallowed the wobble in his throat, "I need some fucking ice- somebody get ice!"
The matches on the far side of the gym were not effected, but one closest had to be paused because of so much confusion.
About five guys, some from Nekoma, some from Karasuno, were ready with ice in 20 seconds. Your eyes were a little bit open, you were breathing, but were otherwise unresponsive. Not even a gasp at the cold.
There was only so much room in the car. The whole team wanted to come with, but only Coach Naoi, Kuroo, and Kenma were able to.
"Back up- Back up!" Kuroo barked at the growing crowd around you as he took you in his arms to carry you outside.
Coach Naoi had the car as close as he could get it; Kenma sat in the front seat, giving him directions, while Kuroo kept your head supported in the backseat, careful to keep pressure on you. Kenma passed him the extra ice bags he managed to stuff in his bag last-minute.
Having to sit in the waiting room was much worse than holding you.
At least, back at the training camp, or in the backseat of the car, he knew he could have an active role in getting you better, if he could see you, touch you.
Their trio sat in limbo, waiting for any news.
Naoi glanced down at the incessant tapping sound. His sigh was short and bothered.
"She'll be okay."
Kuroo made no indication that he heard him, nor that he cared. His heel kept thudding and his knuckles stayed white, gripped to the sides of his arms.
"Kuroo- I'm sure she'll be okay. I've seen worse. They'll get her up, they'll get her hydrated."
It was quiet, except for the sound. Kenma scrolled through the digital schedule they had all received of the training camp, trying to answer his own questions: How had it spiraled to this level? They didn't see you as often as each other, and somewhere along the line, they lost accountability of your health.
"'S'been 40 minutes," Kuroo immediately regretted saying anything, because now he felt nauseous.
Naoi cleared his throat.
"She's probably got rhabdo. When you get that dehydrated for that long, your veins are harder to stick an IV in. It's got something to do with that, I'm sure."
Their assistant coach seemed like he understood what was going on. Kuroo looked down at his own forearms, and for a moment, his foot stopped tapping. Naoi's face lightened with a longer, softer sigh.
His veins looked as plump as ever. He squeezed his cold, shaky fingers and watched how it changed the muscle under the skin.
The door opened and his head shot right up.
He was first to stand, first to go through the doors, trailing a little too close behind the aggravatingly slow nurse.
As they navigated the winding, twisting hallways, he was living in the past, wishing, he had said something about his feelings sooner.
He saw you every day. Multiple times a day. He could name 300 instances where he could have told you he liked you, and still didn't. He thought he would have all the time in the world to. But you were on the ground in seconds, and it was suddenly ripped away, an option he might never have again.
Why would he ever assume it was just something he'd always be able to? That you'd always be around?
They pulled up two chairs next to the hospital bed, sitting as close as possible without getting in the mess of wires on the floor. Some were connected to you, some not. Kuroo paid close mind to the IV in your arm, the clear bag hanging- he glanced to your vitals on the monitor many times.
You looked not great, but way, way better. He took what felt like his first breath in two hours. He prayed Kenma and Coach Naoi would never mention -better yet, forget- his intense, and ugly panic attack in the car.
You were looking at the needle in your arm, too. Sleepy, and slow.
"How are you feeling?" Kenma asked, just before he could.
There was no rush to his words. It was for the best. If Kuroo had asked, it would have sounded interrogative.
You smiled, a precious sight for him, "Uh... really gross."
They laughed, but it was more at the opportunity, in relief, that you were speaking and aware, again.
Coach Naoi's voice could be heard just outside. You turned your head to see him carrying a clipboard with some paperwork to fill out. He thanked the nurse at the doorway and entered, wagging his finger at you.
"You're a lot of trouble, you know that?"
Your frown wasn't the reaction he was after. He patted your ankle, good-natured, with his signature smile that made everyone feel a little better.
"I'm jokin', kid," He chuckled, taking the pen to scribble some information down.
"They'll have you out of here after you get through two of those. If you look good to go, that is."
'Those' must've been referring to the bags of fluid getting pumped into you.
"No stitches, either," He drawled, halfway distracted by his writing, with just a small glance to the tape and bandaging on your forehead, "That's good, that's goood,"
He furrowed his brows, squinting at the third, then fifth page. A silly moment of quiet.
"Alright, uhh, I'm gonna go finish this b.s. out there. Keep her awake, fellas."
"Will do."
"Thanks, Coach."
Your headache kept you feeling fuzzy. You assumed you hit your head at some point, thanks to the bandages and how Naoi alluded to it, but you still weren't sure how, or when.
Kenma filled the momentary quiet.
"So, what happened?"
Again, it felt like you were guessing, trying to piece odd fractions of an incomplete puzzle together. The last three days of the training camp were beyond busy on the admin side. You had your own training to keep up with. Things had gotten away from you.
It was a struggle to get your words out. You looked mostly at Kenma, because he looked like he actually wanted to know- Kuroo looked like he was waiting to interject.
"I guess-... um, I haven't eaten, in a while--"
Kuroo looked completely beside himself. His anger was out of place over his usually calm, collected features.
"Why-wh-what-?! Why not? Why would you not eat when you--?"
"Kuro," Kenma pushed on his forearm.
One look told him to back off- he was being way too loud, way too much, way too emotional. Your passive, ghostly voice was only scaring him more.
His nostrils flared. A big, shaky sigh- he had to stand up, pace around in a circle, and rub his neck.
The fear screwing up his brow, tightening his jaw, glossing over in his eyes, was brand new. You didn't know that he was capable of a volume, like that. It made you feel horribly guilty for what was an honest, albeit stupid, mistake.
Kenma watched him walk out, angrily wiping his eyes.
It was quiet again for a few minutes.
"He cares," Kenma lightened your dark spiral with just a couple of words.
All you felt was frustration. It hurt to speak, and more-so to think hard enough to explain yourself. His demands were out of your range of abilities at the moment, and he was somehow dissatisfied? After all the work you had been putting in for the team, you halfway felt like you didn't owe them anything at all.
"I wish he wouldn't sound so angry about it," You muttered.
A light shiver at the cool sensation pooling in your forearm, and you were meeting Kenma's downcast eyes again, with a feeling that you, somehow, said something wrong.
"He carried you out."
Shock hit you in big wave of nausea. You swallowed, dry. You didn't remember that at all, and could only speculate how scared everyone must've been.
What could you even say to that? This was all a big, stupid, accident that too many people were concerning themselves with. The guilt was so thick that you were wishing he would walk back in, so you could apologize.
A lighter, shakier tone this time, "I'll- make sure to tell him thanks."
Kenma looked like he had more to say, something on his mind, but only gave you a hesitant sigh to work with. His company was enough. Thanks to the IV and the medication, you were feeling better, so you tried to lay back, close your eyes, and enjoy it in silence.
He let you rest for 10 minutes, squeezing your shoulder every once in a while for a reaction, to make sure you were awake.
Kuroo was generally very sweet to you, and you thought you had a good rapport, but nothing tangible enough to get him this upset. You chalked it up to whatever happened while you were out of it.
When he returned, you were on your last bag of fluids. Kenma had his Switch with him, so you were watching him play, giggly, and in better spirits.
It must've been a cosmic-like trade, because he looked like a wreck duct-taped back together. You tried not to stare.
"Kuro, take my seat--,"
He threw him a look. Kenma explained as he stood up, "Dude I gotta pee, I'll be right back."
They linked arms. You couldn't hear what was said, but you did watch, as Kuroo leaned down to listen to Kenma, telling him something quietly, in his ear. You desperately hoped it wasn't about you, but knew deep down that it was wishful thinking.
In his friend's absence, he sat, unsure, of what to say, or what to do. His eyes were dry from his second, thankfully less intense, episode in the bathroom down the hall.
Part of him didn't realize the extent of how much he cared about you, until there was a reason to.
Kuroo tried to hand you the Switch. It was halfway an attempt at conversation, halfway an apology. It begged something to be done, or said, at least.
You shook your head and made your best effort to be kind about it, "No, thanks."
It was impossible to look him in the face, "I'm not as good as Kenma. Wouldn't be very fun."
He chuckled, but it sounded sad, and only existed on the basis of filling empty space.
Odd, unnatural, mutual silence. You glanced at each other. Neither able to address it or ignore it enough to talk about anything else.
He was biting the inside of his cheek, looking around the room, every exhale sounding like a soft sigh.
"Kenma told me that-," You cleared your throat, "Uh- you, carried me."
When he looked at you, it was filled with an attachment you had not been conscious for. You faltered under the sudden pressure, tired heart picking back up again.
"Thank you. I'm sure it was hard."
His brow furrowed as he, first, took you literally- after he realized you meant it as a concept, or maybe emotionally, he smirked. He tilted his head a little, like he always did before he teased you.
"Well, you know I work out, right?"
A genuine laugh left your lips. His goofy, disarming humor so ill-timed, but so desperately needed.
He smiled at you, soft, and comfortable again.
"You know what I mean," Was a familiar groan that he loved generating.
"Yeah- yeah, I know," He moved to place the Switch in the empty chair next to him, and was reminded that he only had a short time alone with you. His hand lingered in the space above it, just for a second, enough for him to make up his mind.
You jumped a little at the warmth and weight of his palm in yours.
"It was."
Kuroo didn't look you all-over like you did to him; you were trying to find the joke, or the punchline, in his body language, but he kept his sincerity incredibly clear and unwavering.
His thumb rubbed, light, against your skin.
You looked down at your joined hands, panicked, chills all over your body, "Kuroo-?"
"I know this isn't a great time, but I realized-- I-I shouldn't keep waiting around, for nothing, like I was. We could die tomorrow, so like- what's the point? You know?"
You adjusted to sit up straight, getting warmer, a little dizzy, at his words.
"I-h," He looked at you one last time, taking in the shock on your brow, the slack in your jaw, and knew he shouldn't stop talking, because he'd never be able to start it up again if he did.
"I really like you. I tried to wait for it to go away. Then, I just... didn't want it to."
This smooth-talking, silly, composed guy was falling apart, piece by piece. You didn't realize his super-nice demeanor had anything to do with a crush, but hindsight as it is, found your obliviousness a little embarrassing, now.
Your voice failed you, "You've had a cr-ush on me?"
He snorted at your voice crack, but looked no less infatuated. His other hand was pushing back some hair from your face.
"For a long time."
DING DING, DING DING, DING DING--
You yelped at how loud the alarm was, right next to your head, and how serious it sounded.
A very high, constant ring came from something electronic that you were hooked up to. The source was ambiguous and reason to be very concerned.
Kuroo had a better view of the screen. As you craned, shaky and weak, to see, he squeezed your hand.
His laugh helped to calm you down, "It's just your heart rate."
"One-fifty," He trailed, his pretty, proud grin audible, "Nice."
A nurse rushed in, followed immediately by your coach, then Kenma- you were quick to try and demonstrate that you were fine, but there were not many methods at your disposal, other than waving your free hand.
"I'm okay! I'm- I'm just nervous."
You shared a glance with Kuroo.
It was impossible to keep either of your laughs down once he started giggling.
The nurse could tell what was up immediately-- she muted the machine with a half-concealed smile, then left when she saw you still had some more to go with the IV.
Naoi was a little more clueless, but saw your hands, and made it his business to not know what was going on by taking his own leave. One tiny look told Kuroo everything as he turned- the good, old, 'keep it professional' look.
Kenma stayed, waiting with arms crossed, until it was just you three again, and spoke over your nonstop giggling.
"I told you so."

If you backed the Mortasheen kickstarter four years ago (...but until this morning, I still thought it was three...) check your email or the project page. The digital prerelease version is available to all backers. It's 318 pages, with only around 10-15ish pages of extra stuff that will come in the physical version later this year. When that starts shipping to backers, the extra content will also be added to the digital release in a free update.
Digital should be available for the general public to buy in the coming months, and the physical version will be up for new preorders when the kickstarter run starts to ship out. We'll be trying to get it on the shelves of actual stores in at the end of the year or starting next year, even if only indie stores end up wanting to carry it.
This has eaten so much of my time that I went bald and started greying since the original announcement. Haha.
Other artists contributing to the final book:
@latenightagain
@samsketchbook
@galusaurus
@biomechanicalmush
@witnesstheabsurd
@revretch
@iguanamouth
@kombuchaclock
@slithergaunt
@sabedilemon
@beachboogeyman
And some others, who don't currently have tumblrs to link to that I know of
The core gameplay system was developed by Morgan Mullins, who doesn't use social media! I've still never fully learned all of the system myself, not having free time for gaming or even the right brain to memorize ttrpg mechanics, but @gutsygills did, and used that system to build and playtest each and every single last monster while revising and expanding the mechanics for the last year or two straight. Without her effort this release would still be nowhere in sight.
This TTRPG has been a project in development now since roughly 2010, and a world I've developed since almost 2001.
Everyone who wants to be able to buy it in at least some form should finally be able to by the end of this year, the 200+ kickstarter preorders just demand attention first.

Among kids of my generation and class I think it was fairly common for our parents to have a self-store unit for at least a portion of our childhood, and I think also probably it was pretty common for us to witness them being kind of ashamed of it. The feeling that my parents had, and I to some degree internalized, was that if you needed to store stuff outside of your home, well, you had too much stuff. I've heard other people my age express the same sentiment.
To an extent I can understand the feeling, but it's something I and my peers are having to unlearn. Because finally I came to the conclusion that the idea of offsite storage hits differently when you live in a city apartment, when you don't have a garage or a garden shed or a basement. You live amongst everything you own. My friends agree -- you might not want to get rid of your Christmas decorations or your LARP costumes and props or your camping gear, because you do use those things, but you also don't need to keep them in the home. And if I were offered an extra walk-in closet in my condo for $30 a month added onto my mortgage, I'd take it in a heartbeat. The fact that it happens to be about a mile away instead of inside my bedroom is almost immaterial at that point.
There's no real goal in making this post other than to talk about it, because I think it's something a lot of us unconsciously hold onto. And I know that also a lot of people hold shame about having a "cluttered" home, or being unable to part with things you don't really need anymore, so you know.
I've carefully packed up my Halloween decorations in a watertight bin and soon I'll stash them away until next year, when I'll be able to just go over to storage and haul out my winter clothes and my Halloween stuff and enjoy it, instead of watching it attract dust in the closet.

I'm seeing a lot of people say that punk fashion is expensive and inaccessible, which is very wrong. here is a list of some ways you can make punk fashion easier, cheaper and more accessible for you, since that's... kinda the whole point.
others are encouraged to add onto this!! (just don't recommend corporations like amazon. not cool.)
1. patches!! you don't need to buy them. DIY patches are not ugly or boring. in fact, they are encouraged here!! DIY, in my opinion, is always the best thing to do when it is an option and is safe to do so.
2. speaking of DIY, spikes!! you can make them!!
cut the top and bottom off of an empty can. cut down the middle of the cylinder and flatten it, so it's just a flat rectangle of metal.
cut out a shape that is kind of a third of a circle, but around 3/4 of the curved edge is taken up by triangle shapes. (I'm not very good at describing, so here's a badly drawn picture)

roll it into a cone, leaving the 4 triangles sticking out at the bottom. this bit is optional, but you can fill it with hot glue to make it more sturdy, just be careful touching the hot metal. I tend to hold the cone by one of the triangles with a bit of fabric wrapped around my fingers for this bit. cut 4 small holes in your fabric in this kind of shape:

and put the spiky bits of triangle through the holes. fold the triangles in on themselves to secure the spike in place. boom. spike obtained. this is one I made and attached to a little piece of fabric to test this method out:

3. battle vests!! (like the base jackets). the best places to buy these are charity shops and second hand websites in my opinion, but if anyone else knows any better options, please reblog with those!!
a good trick I find works well on eBay is to filter search results to your country (or state? can you do that in the US? idk) so that a: fast delivery because local, and b: all the sellers of everything that shows up are in YOUR TIME ZONE.
why is this important? when people sell something for really cheap, it goes FAST. check eBay at like, 2am or something. all the scalpers in your area are asleep. grab the cheap stuff while they can't.
4. sewing!! want patches, but can't sew for whatever reason? I've heard of a lot of people with joint conditions like arthritis complain about the inaccessibility of patch stuff, and that does sound extremely annoying, however:
safety pins!! while they are still a little fiddly, they're much less work so you don't have to fiddle about for long. if you can, you could even ask a friend to help, since it doesn't take long at all I'm sure someone will be willing to help out!! (I know I would, but that's just me, and I love this kind of thing). safety pins on clothes are also widely considered to be a symbol of solidarity, so if anything, you're adding some extra love and meaning to your patch pants/battle jacket.
if that's still too fiddly, fabric glue is always an option. unfortunately this means you won't be able to remove/reposition patches, at least without leaving a massive patch of residue, but if you're ok with that then fabric glue is probably your best bet.
for people who prefer sewing: as for where to get the thread, I've heard a lot of people recommending dental floss, as it's apparently much cheaper and works just as well. I haven't tried this myself so can't confirm that, but I thought I'd share it regardless.
5. where to get fabric!! old clothes. rip em up. you don't need any kind of fancy fabric from the craft store. my patches are made of old jeans that I grew out of.
don't have any old clothes and you don't want to waste any good ones? I'm not sure about other countries, but in the UK, as long as you're not on private property (trespassing), dumpster diving is perfectly legal.
I definitely ;) do NOT encourage ;) trespassing rich people's land ;) to steal from their dumpsters ;)
or tbh it doesn't matter too much how rich the person is, since it's all going to landfill anyway. if it's in the bin, it's free game, but you didn't hear that from me. ;)
please add onto this where you can!! and if I missed something or got anything wrong, add that on too!!

Big Ol' Gains
(Trade with: @bigwishes)
I never understood why my body just wouldn't grow. I've been going to the gym for months now and my body hasn't reflect that at all! My chest is flat, no abs to be seen, and twigs for arms! It's just not fair. I see the big guys around my local gym and I get so jealous... But that changes today! I found something that will most definitely change that. It's called... "Big Ol' Protein". I found an ad for it that promised results or my money back and I couldn't resist guaranteed gains. I even paid for express shipping so it arrived before my next workout. i waited patiently by the door until i heard a bell ring and the box arrived. I was so giddy that I unboxed it and looked at it in awe. The first thing in the box was some sort of warning and side effects of using the protein but like I care! I make a shake and put it in the fridge for tomorrow. I'm gonna get some gains!
The next morning I wake up bright and early and grab my workout bad along with my shake arriving at the gym soon after and dousing the shake in one sitting before getting on with my routine. Compared to my last gym session this time it felt amazing! Maybe this stuff actually worked! I was dripping in sweat and felt like I had the best pump of my life. I looked down and it looked like I've gained some bulk! It worked! I just need to consume more of this stuff and I'm set.
One week later...
God, this stuff really works... I've gained so much bulk in just a week. I even took a selfie to commemorate. The first I've taken since I've started working out!
I wasn't expecting to start growing facial hair but maybe it's the extra testosterone in my veins and I'm definitely not complaining. I could even fear my rear and "down there" growing... For the first time other gym goers have asked ME for advice and even seasoned gym goers want to talk to me! My life is finally coming around! Although I still need to get bigger... I'm not done yet...
Three weeks later...
I can't get enough of Big Ol' protein I've started putting it in my food and day to day drinks. A meal without Big Ol' protein is a meal not worth eating. I've gotten some friends who want to bulk up just like me and are happy to take progress photos for me. Don't I look even huger than last time?
Every part of my body has bulked immensely since I started. Just looking at anything is euphoric. My legs are like two thick trunks of pure beef.
Some of my workout buddies are getting concerned with how much Big Ol' protein I've been consuming, but they just don't understand the grind of getting big. My rear has also blossomed into two bouncy balloons of pure muscle. I can't help but give 'em a squeeze.

With that mind however I must do whatever it takes to get big. Nothing else matters. I must get bigger... I need to get BIGGER.
Three months later...
It's been so long since Big Ol' Protein changed my life. All my clothes are getting too small for and I couldn't be happier to find that out. I live, breathe, and of course eat Big Ol' Protein. Testosterone is flowing through my veins and it's exhilarating. I don't care if I'm addicted I love it almost as much as my gains. I'm even sponsored by the company now it's great! My workout buddies look at me in awe now and I'm basically the kind of my gym now. People fawn over to me asking for advice. All I say is start consuming Big Ol' protein. God I love my big Bulking body more than anything, but I'm not done. I will never will be done. I need to get bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. And also a flex wouldn't hurt.
"Fuck yeah look at those biceps..."

On the third day of GOATmas, my true love sent to me...
...desks! Wood recolors of desks!
I've recolored every desk that EA has created in a pack or expansion that:
1) already had wood recolors
2) didn't have wood recolors, but I felt that wood recolors suited them
For the colors: I am using Dynamite, Depth Charge, Shrapnel, Safety Fuse and Time Bomb by @pooklet, and Nesert and Honey by Io aka @serabiet.
Please check out the Add-On's I've recommended! They are meshes made by community members that will use these textures too. Or, they are bits of CC that go along with these nicely!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Andromeda Desk - deskatomicagekids
notes: did not have a wood texture but it does now! The lines of the desk were too good to pass up. Wood texture nabbed from Seasons, I think.
Bakonmi Sprok Desk - desktechep8
notes: some of the original texture and some new stuff too
Recommended Add-On: #1
Broken In Desk - deskbohemian
Notes: much of the existing texture but edited a lot.
Recommended Add-On: #1
Counter Productive Work Surface - deskclub
notes: the SHINIEST desk that ever did live. Basically the original texture though
Fine Finish Desk - deskfantasy
notes: the texture of this was mostly quite good! Did remove the curly bits. I sure do wish that the knobs and the deco had a recolorable subset.
Recommended Add-On: #1
Home Office Desk - deskquaint
notes: the 2nd shiniest base game desk. Almost all is the original texture
Recommended Add-on: #1, #2
Patchwork Desk - deskgoth
notes: brand new texture! Now you can actually use this desk! The shape is quite nice
Retratech Office Pal Economy Desk - deskvalue
notes: it's your very fave desk! The one you likely have lots of fun recolors of already. Original texture - no white recolor though, as the desk comes with one
Recommended Add-ons: #1 #2
Swervy Curvy Desk - desksurfer
notes: I saw the vision on this one! Previously no wood recolor, but now it has one. Wish that little bendy metal leg had a recolorable subset
The Rollin Secretary - deskcountry
notes: this is one of my favorite desks and it is so cute!
TibetanDesk_deskcentralasian
notes: mac and cheese yellow handles (no recolorable subset) but at least the wood looks alright. The mapping on this one suuuuuucks
Recommended add-ons: #1
A recent commission for @silentdragon64!! Plus some close ups for you to tap on so you can see details and textures and whatnot! I'm excited to share more commissions with you guys, so you can get a look at my more rendered stuff, and what I've been putting all my time into lately.
Always happy for an opportunity to draw Doc 🥺 It seems like every time I draw him, I put more effort into drawing his actuators. It made this drawing HUGE, since I planned it out digitally beforehand. I had to buy a big piece of paper just for this drawing. For scale, below the read more, is look at me holding the drawing in the mirror before I mailed it to the commissioner:
DAYUM!! I mean, tbh, i would have had to get an especially long piece of paper for this composition anyway, with one character being upside down and all, but the arms are like adding an extra character to the thing. I'm really happy with how it turned out :')
