The way Lovely Runner stayed winning right up until the end. God-tier OTP, and OST that was nothing but bangers, the best kpop boy band to never exist, and the most adorable heroine who will now be a forever fave with me. It even managed to do the impossible and made me fall in love with the most green flag hero by giving him the swagger of a kpop idol who is also the most embarrassing loser in love to exist. Throw in the most competent 2nd male lead who turns out to be the true hero and a finale that was nothing but fluff and it was pretty much perfect from start to finish.

Also, lmao at the fate the of the evil taxi guy. He gets hit by the kdrama White Truck of Doom, drowns, and the show proceeds to not give two shits about him ever again. Why spend another second on that guy when we can watch Im Sol and Sun Jae be stupid and in love with each other. What a flex!

You know, the more I think about it, the more I feel like this episode was the beginning of untangling this whole web of 'lies' that Tim and Lucy have been telling each other - and telling themselves - when it comes to undercover… One thread at a time. This episode zeroed in on Tim's thread and how he truly thought he was fine with Lucy doing undercover work. How he needed a lie detector to realise just how deep his denial was. And while yes, it seems that the onus was all on him here, the narrative did imply that Lucy might have a similar issue. The way she immediately denied the possibility that she might be projecting mirrored Tim's similar objections. Right now she's all focused on him… but the seed is there. This is just the beginning of the unravelling so they can get to that place of honesty - with one another and with themselves. I get the feeling that we will soon get to pull Lucy's thread and explore her side of the story and her doubts. (Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part).

Hm, I was thinking Idia as I think they'd be a cute couple. Also, Yuu's are very personal to people so I'm not sure anyone would enjoy a Silyuu fic unless it was a one shot.

But what the hey; since I let ya vote on the story, I'll let you vote on the ship as well.

These are the options I feel are best for the story's plot as a major focus is that DiaFam is worried that if Silver falls in love, he'll leave them to be with his lover and none of them are happy about that. At the same time Silver is conflicted on what to do as he's never been in love before. For the first time he feels torn in two different directions. (This is partly why Sebek isn't an option as it wouldn't fit the scenario and the drama would only affect the two of them.)

The rest of the conflict will depend on the Love Interest.

Closing Manga Thoughts

I just deleted a long vent post about every single one of my feelings about the end of the podcast and the manga being over. Except not really over because it looks like there's a lot more interest in a physical edition than I was expecting. Hopefully I'll see y'all in the preorders in a couple weeks once I figure out how expensive this will be to make and from there how much I want to charge.

Anyways. Please humour me for a quick moment while I make a big deal out of my thing because it might look like sixteen goofy little drawings in boxes every other week, but it's been a really big deal for me over the last year and a half. I've decided all I really want to say about the end of the manga is thank you for being a fandom I was comfortable sharing something like this with. When I first got into DnDads I had never shared fanart anywhere and I had been fallen off the creative train for a while. So thank you for being here, for engaging with the manga because without that engagement I wouldn't have bothered to see this through to the end. Thank you for allowing me to foster an interest in making comics.

I feel really peaceful now that it's over. It's hard to explain, but I was always very anxious about if people would still be interested in the next pages, if I was wasting my time, if I had phoned it in and should have tried harder. But now that it's over, now that it's complete, and I'm proud of every single page, even the ones I was kind of lazy with, I'm just very content and grateful that I was able to share this very special project, and I don't care so much about if they'll be looked back on fondly, or laughed at, or ignored anymore. It's done, and I'm happy.

Now that the manga is over, if you're ever wondering what I'm going to be doing next, I'll still be here. I have more DnDads ideas, some comics that will escape the four panel format I've been locked into for so long, and I draw One Piece stuff too sometimes, and that won't be going anywhere for a while still haha. I also have an original fantasy comic about a magic that kills you that just entered it's third chapter and you can check it out starting here on Tumblr, or on it's own website here. I am so obsessed with this rendition of Again from From the Rehearsal Room: Tokyo that I decided to extract its audio, master it with my limited knowledge in audacity and little help from AI, put it on my music playlist, and even consider trying to extract everything from this particular stream, from what I found on bilibili. I think of all 3 livestream they did, this one is the best because of the song choices, the studio acoustic (I'm always obsessed with good sound acoustic in music recording), and the simple arrangement consists of grand piano (wonderfully played by the way, kudos to the pianist) and two guitars by Ramin and Hadley themselves. I notice this is the first one they did, isn't it? Because they were trapped in long quarantine and Sierra eventually couldn't come. I'm late to this so I only read how it went and I feel sad.

I actually know this song for long because it was on some ad but I think that was Sinatra's version. I didn't know this song is from a musical until I fall down to this hole. Actually found out a lot of songs that actually are from musicals thanks to this hole. Gosh, I used to be so deep into musicals during Les Mis movie era but not THIS deep.

And sometimes. You just gotta self-indulge with not only a happy ending, but a pretty squid as well. Besiiiides, if all the 8 strength male companions can have six-packs, I think squid buddy is allowed to look like they can do a pull up or two without the need for levitation (probably can't in actuality though. Like the six-packed male companions with sit-ups.)

I find it interesting that the Animorphs never did a holiday special episode or anything like that, and similarly the lack of religious parallels despite the many, many places that could so easily become one.

Tl;dr: Having holiday specials requires knowing exactly what books are coming out when, and we know from KAA et al. that Animorphs did not have nearly that kind of predictable structure in release dates.
