Let’s be clear, I don’t want to have anything to do with the new Flash movie, for the personal reasons that I’m not interested and also based on what I know I would not enjoy it at all, but.

Given DC’s decision to use CGI zombies of beloved actors:

Do people today, like, actually know who George Reeves is? Do people actually watch his TV show? I tend to wander off in my own directions a lot, so I have literally no idea what the average person does or does not know. (Bonus if said people are actually from the US, which I am not.)

#it's beyond insulting what they did to these actors btw #just to make that clear #insulting and completely unnecessary #there are like at least five other beloved Superman actors who are still alive today #not to mention the voice actors from animation #very telling that they went for reanimated corpses instead #but also #Christopher Reeve sure he was THE Superman #you can't get a better Superman than him #(I'd almost argue that he was too good and this is why there haven't been any decent movie Supermen since him but that's a different story)#But George Reeves??#Don't get me wrong I love him he is MY Superman #I literally have him as my Tumblr profile #But I assume that you have to be a certain level of nerd in order to watch his series?#Given that it was made in the 1950s...#superheroes #dc cinematic universe #The Flash movie #Superman #George Reeves

One of the reasons I love this I Love Lucy episode is because at no point Superman is called "the actor who plays Superman" or "George Reeves", which means he is actually Superman in the universe of Lucy, which means I Love Lucy is part of the DC multiverse.
