i feel like MJ didn't truly impress upon people what his "childhood" was really like. i guess he either didn't realize or didn't want to complain to that extent, but probably a lot of people, even if they did sympathize, just thought "oh yeah being a child star, that's rough," etc. no. even if you factor in the abuse, it's more than that. this child was touring and recording and doing tv appearances seriously non-stop since he was 10 years old.

Jackson 5 World Tour 1973-1975

this is just 1 tour the j5/jacksons did. 160+ shows. a few month-long breaks, 1 two-month break. several stretches where they were booked for weeks straight with a few 1- or 2-day breaks. 2 and a half years.

and then there were rehearsals and recording and tv appearances. the jackson 5 recorded and released 3 albums during this tour. Michael released 2 solo albums. their 3 hours of school per day for at least the youngest 2.

this is an insane amount of work for an adult. Michael was 14 when this specific tour started and 17 when it ended.

since he was 11, he went 1 (ONE) year of his life without touring until he was 27

I wanna get sober. Like, legitimately. I haven’t had a truly good dopamine day in what feels like months and I’m not getting the emotional benefits as much anymore. Plus it’s getting harder to deal w/ the trade offs like It Tastes Bad and It Makes You Nauseous. Basically, it’s time. But like. I don’t have any Cool Healthy New Coping Mechanism to replace it, nor do I have a Fulfilling Life Full Of Purpose to live. Like I’m still gonna be living alone unemployed no friends only social interaction face to face is with my family. So I’m worried I’m setting myself up for failure. Plus the suicidal bullshit has gotten worse as of late and while being drunk hasn’t helped me feel less miserable overall lately, it has gotten me from Actively Suicidal to Passively Suicidal. Which I guess if I was looking at it from the perspective of It Doesn’t Need To Make You Feel Better, It Just Needs To Keep You Alive then all the distress tolerance bullshit from DBT would be useful there but I’m sooooooo rusty on those. In conclusion: augh

Above are my flower pins (each with a unique background color!), recycled Pokemon card pins, and recycled cardstock pins. The first set are original designs printed and pressed with my own button press. The other two are common Pokemon Cards and old greeting cards cut and pressed into pins to give them a new life and a new shiny look! The greeting card pins also have some unique texturing on them. Any remaining excesses are stored away in a box to be turned into paper at a later date.

Just a simple little silly sticker I made! The outline of the bread was traced over a photo I took at a steakhouse on my birthday and sent to my boyfriend. I thought it would be kinda funny, and something I would totally get for myself.

Norway's reTyre  claims to be the world’s first carbon-neutral rubber-free all circular materials tyre

The tyre is crafted from 100% reclaimed materials to neutralise the product’s environmental impact, restore ecosystems, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero.

By using algae, recycled para-aramid fibre, post-consumer recyclate and recycled fish nets, reTyre has reduced the product’s greenhouse gas emissions by 100% compared with conventional tyres.

“While we’re not the first to use recycled fishnets in the tyre industry, I have never known of algae, post-consumer recyclate and recycled para-aramid to be used before,” reTyre Brand Designer Friedemann Ohse, who is leading the Carbon-Neutral Project, told Zag Daily.

“We have learned a lot during this production phase and will use this when we move to mass production.”

Algae, which is incorporated in the tread, is sourced from algae blooms to restore aquatic ecosystems, prevent methane release and prevent eutrophication, which is when harmful algal blooms and dead zones develop after the environment becomes enriched with nutrients. According to reTyre, algae’s negative CO2 equivalent offsets the company’s remaining carbon emissions and contributes to a net-zero impact.

Recycled para-aramid is extracted from used body armour to protect the tyre against puncture, while post-consumer recyclate is sourced from local waste streams which have low levels of carbon dioxide.

“Post-consumer waste is not easy to use but it has an amazing impact. It also reduces the price of the tyre because it’s a waste which nobody wants to use.”

Friedemann anticipates wider use of para-aramid in the near future, and the company is currently implementing the material into many of its own products as well as the carbon-neutral tyre. 

The fourth sustainable material – recycled fish nets – is used for tyre casing. Fish nets are collected from oceans and reduce emissions by 49% and energy use by 15%.

reTyre says the carbon footprint of this tyre is based on a third-party Life Cycle Assessment verification, which includes almost zero emissions from production and transportation processes, and nearly zero end-of-life carbon emissions due to recycling of the tyres.

“This carbon-neutral tyre is at a concept stage and it is a result of continuous innovation that shows what our unique manufacturing is capable of.”

I feel like it is potentially not the wildest idea that perhaps if you Hate Christmas and are going to be a Rude Ass Cunt for the entire evening it may be a good idea to not demand that the holiday happens at your house? Demanding that *you host* claiming that you *love hosting* and then, actually, getting mad at everyone for every little thing and overall just having an obnoxious attitude complaining left right and centre over any thing you can think of

You can just choose to not be a part of the holiday. You can be a grown ass adult and say “I don’t want to receive or give gifts this year” or “I’m not liking hosting so let’s do it elsewhere” or any number of potential communication tactics that aren’t Snapping At Everyone For Any Given Reason

You can just, yknow, not participate instead of actively ruining the evening for everyone you’re supposed to care about?
