Work Xmas party is today and we've all brought our makeup and outfits and everything and we're gonna get ready together and have predrinks in the locker rooms they have set up for the vet students :3 my friends gonna do my hair with her heat brush thing and another friend brought these alcohol marinated berries

Look at you go!

Since River is mostly blind from cataracts now, we've been working with her to become more comfortable exploring the living room and still be able to find her way back to her cage (I help her in and out of it). The 'find big human to give him nose-bonks' game, noogies, and a few well-timed banana chips got her to the coffee table.  She seems to feel safest on the towels, so I'll have to find some more for her.  Yay, progress!

Bam i love this show

honestly prefer 92sies over livesies in some / most parts, i wish they combined the two somehow with all my fav bits. AKB and Ben Fanhauser did rlly great but CHRISTIAN BALE. DID SUCH A GOOD JACK. NEVERMIND HIS SINGING SKILLS. JUST-

When we went to mow our yard for the first time, we found a bun.

The team members, whom he endearingly called the ‘fire boys’, were regularly trained and nudged to do their best at the job, but were never pushed beyond their limits. Except for Susanoo himself, none of the boys were allowed to take two consecutive shifts without at least eight hours of sleep. If they were injured on duty, the least required amount of rest was twenty four hours. 

Susanoo always pulled his god card whenever he was reminded to take a rest, until all members gave up and let him be. It had become some sort of a routine, and so no one asked questions when their chief did not go home after the long, intense graveyard shift.

While the morning-shift members were coming in and getting ready for a new day, Susanoo relaxed on the reclining chair in his open office, his chief uniform jacket hung on the chair’s back, and a cup of steaming green tea sitting on the desk in front of him. 

The god looked like he was drifting off into sleep, but his mind stayed fully alert. Therefore, his eyes flung open just before the goddess spoke up. 

“Special delivery?” 

He parroted, eyes quickly shifting from her face to the scrumptiously scented basket in her hands. Swiftly, the god stood up from the chair, straightening his black plain T-shirt and fixing his slightly disheveled hair while approaching her for a proper greeting. As Xi Wangmu introduced herself and stated her purpose, Susanoo’s face lightened up, his head nodded politely and lips curled up into a welcoming smile. 

“Oh my, what a wonderful gift! How can we thank you enough for this?” His eyes opened in delighted surprise, his voice warm in appreciation, his arm extending as he invited her in. “I’m Susanoo, chief of the team. It’s such a great pleasure to meet you, Dr. Xi Wangmu, please come on in!” 

He gestured to help her with the basket, while a fireman took out a chair and put it on the other side of the chief desk for her to sit. 

“My apology if things look a bit…lacking here, we don’t usually have guests,” he gently placed the basket on his desk, the only space in the entire front part of the station that can be used for putting things on.

There were shelves along the walls and two more tables in the room, but all were filled up in boxes of documents and equipment. Susanoo made a quick mental note to tidy them all up, someday soon. 

“Would you like something to drink?” He asked the goddess, still standing, with the same young fireman a few meters beside them, waiting for her response. “We have coffee, hot chocolate, green tea, and…mineral water!”

What an absolutely splendid day! Ever one to be a strong supporter of first responders, Xiwangmu could not help but demonstrate her appreciation this morning by way of a basket filled with perfectly-baked breakfast pastries, a tantalizing aroma wafting from beneath the cloth. It really was no trouble at all since the station was on the way. And, with her post as medical director, it was beneficial to make connections with those on the front lines! She had been in an exceedingly good mood since meeting her daughter and nearly everyone around her would benefit from her joy whether they wanted to or not.

"Special delivery~" she sang out sweetly as she stepped through the doors, dressed in business casual and always appearing professional yet approachable. She smiled warmly to the individual nearby. "Dr. Xi Wangmu, medical director at Asclepius General. Honored to meet you," she greeted with a kind nod. "And this? A token of my appreciation, for everyone on the team," she insisted as she gestured toward the basket of goodies.

@jam-n-ham and I just saw a baby bunny on our back porch!!! this little guy has been spotted in our backyard a few times this past week, and he’s gotten slightly bigger each passing day! 🥰
