Wolchefant Week - Day 2 AU

We all know that one AU - the one where the Exarch accidentally plucks Haurchefant's spirit out of the rift and lands him in the First. It's hardly original, but it definitely makes me feel Some Kind of Way™ :')

It was no secret I came every evening to your suite in the guest wing. Emmanellain made quite sure to let me know that… Ah, but my younger brother's salacious imaginings could hardly compare to the pleasures of those nights. After supper, when we would recline on the sofa before the fire, you would lean against me, and we'd talk of history… or the nights you read aloud to me adventure stories, before a crackling fire with steaming cups of cocoa. Turmoil raged in our fair city, but there with you, in those moments, I found such peace.

I regret that I'll never know what became of Ser Antoine, and the mysterious azure dragoon… though if I may say so, I like to think of them becoming lovers, in the end. What do you think? A happy ending for our hero? I suppose if we never finished the story, it is ours to imagine. Halt just here, before the end—in a frozen moment of possibility, where anything might still come to be.

Wolchefant Week! Day 1: First Kiss

Originally intended this to be their first kiss (been through a few drafts since this). They're just back from the First, irrevocably changed by the experience, and after years of revolving around each other they finally collided.

WOLCHEFANT WEEK: Hobbies

Dhoro picked up drawing and poetry when he was very young, a solitary hobby that he didn’t like sharing with others. Haurchefant startles him and gets a short peek when paying him another visit within the Falling Snows. 🩵 a lil bit more below the cut

“Ah! Your sister, Tuya, did apprise me that you were quite the artist!” Haurche chimed, sneaking up behind Dhoro.

Dhoro, lost in what he was doing, had been startled and utterly embarrassed being caught drawing. He hurriedly slams his journal closed before Haurchefant could see that he was drawing a portrait of him. Not to mention the poems buried within earlier pages.

Wolchefant Day 1: First Kiss 💋

Finally, a moment of peace. Closing her eyes, N’ya sighed, doing her best to enjoy the feel of the winds against her face. Traveling with Emmanellain was enough of a chore, but, of course, the youngest Lord Fortemps had to outdo himself and get captured by a local tribe to make their trip to Sea of Clouds even more special. 

“That sigh wouldn’t be aimed at me, would it?” She could hear the smile in the familiar voice and could not help one of her own.

“But, of course, you were late after all,” N’ya teased, finally opening her eyes and turning around only to find Haurchefant right up on her, causing her entire face to turn pink at his closeness.

“Late!? You say that as though you’re not more than capable of taking down a group of beastmen on your own. You barely needed my men or me at all,” The elezen replied confidently, seemingly unaware of his proximity to her. N’ya giggled, reaching up a hand to gently smack at his chest.

“Capable would mean I wouldn’t have left Emmanellain to his own devices in the first place,” She shook her head, looking down at her feet in shame. The Miqo’te had been all too eager to get away from the man-child, and her lack of patience had nearly cost Emmanellain's life (or so his dramatics would lead everyone to believe).

A gloved hand tilted her face up, and she felt her heart flutter at the reassuring smile on Haurchefant’s lips. “The adventure will be good for him, I think. Maybe not right now, but down the line. He’ll learn from it-” A tiny snort. “He will!” Haurchefant protested, his expression falling into an adorable pout. ‘Too cute…’ Suddenly, N’ya found herself leaning on her toes to give him a soft peck on the lips.

“Your faith in people never ceases to amaze me,” She murmured as she settled back on her feet. The elezen stared at her with a dazed look before his signature grin settled back in.

“If my faith in others gets me that type of reaction from you, I’ll start believing in them even harder,” He laughed before cradling her face gently with his hands and pulling her in for another kiss.
