➭ Huehuehue...this all sprang from a message Admin RD sent to me about this gif and the surfer vibes Tae gave out. So tada~ This will be a mini drabble series of segments of the reader and Surfer Tae as they get to know one another. 

The heat of the sun warms your skin pleasantly as your bare feet sink into the tepid sand; your eyes searching for the perfect spot to set your towel to begin sunbathing. The sudden increase in heat lately made for the optimal time to spend on the beach to try and find some coolness on your normally scorching days holed up in a temperate room testing synthetic skin. The company you worked in began a breakthrough in the newest technology and with a nice, hefty donation, finally had the financial means to carry on with numerous testing.

The pay was very, very, generous, but your time to yourself and friends became limited when you were one of the few to get promoted to begin the experimentation. Although, with finally having enough vacation hours accrued from the years working at the company, you couldn’t have fled fast enough for a month long time off.

So here you were in a small island off the coast and having arrived just an hour prior, you excitedly find a spot on the sand; about a yard away from any other people visiting the beach. With a satisfied huff, you plop onto your towel and pull off the knitted dress covering your bathing suit, slowly applying sunblock with a hum. As you did so, you let your eyes discretely glance around the people speckled across the beach behind your sunglasses. You idly wonder about what stresses each person was running away from when you spotted him.

It was like looking at the sun with how bright his blonde hair shined. His caramel skin glowed against the rippling water of the waves and you swore you had never seen someone so ethereal before. There was no denying that the man before you could very well be Poseidon; the waves seemed to naturally curve around his feet. That’s not even to mention your awe sparkling further when you see him dive into the water with a surfboard you hadn’t noticed, and began paddling his way out further into the clear waves. You really didn’t want to become a creeper just staring at the man, but it was incredibly difficult not to do so; especially when his skin tight, long sleeved shirt left your mouth to salivate wondering what was underneath.

With hurried motions, you begin setting the rest of your things into place to fully appreciate the view gifted to you and with a pillow resting against your tiny cooler, you finally settle in. Your body now propped into position, it was easier to gaze at the man’s impressive figure as his strong legs balanced on the surfboard and navigated him gracefully through the clear waves. Perhaps you were being a bit too much when you reach around to take out a chilled Smirnoff Ice bottle from your cooler and sip on it to watch the surfer, but you wouldn’t let yourself think about it too much.

This is was your time to finally relax and this gorgeous siren of a man was unwittingly giving you a beautiful scenic view to enjoy while you did so. And oh my, those wet shorts were working extra hard to cling onto his ass so as to not fall off with the powerful bashing of the ocean’s waves; you silently prayed to Neptune to let them slip off.

You were in the middle of appraising his rather large feet and wondering if those were proportionate to something, when those same bare feet were suddenly making their way to you and made your tongue feel like sandpaper. Your nerves were like a live wire as his figure is fast approaching, not letting your reassurances of him not coming to you specifically when his strides are utterly leading him to you. What could he possibly want to say to you? Surely he hadn’t been able to see how you were openly staring at him with your sunglasses on, had he? Oh god, what if he had and he was on his way to cuss you out for being a creep? Was it too late to pack up your things and quickly flee?

Finally he got to where you were while you panicked silently and stopped before the towel you were sat on; his looming shadow easily engulfing your figure. His mocha eyes bore into your own despite the cover of your sunglasses and you have to clench your fists to avoid popping your mouth open in awe. His tongue flicks out to wet his lips as he finally opens them to speak to you, and all you could do is hang by a thread to await his impactful words.

“Su’ dude.”

So bewitched by the deep timbre of his molten chocolate voice, it took a few seconds for your brain to process his words and when it did, you swear your soul shriveled just a tad. All this anticipation and mystery, just for him to utter that? You’d be lying if you weren’t a little disappointed, and sure that made you a bit of a judgmental jerk, but you preferred your men to be a little intelligent. You wanted someone to stimulate you in invigorating conversations and keep up with your ever moving thoughts; so perhaps you could pretend as if you didn’t hear him.

“Um, so I kinda noticed you staring at me and honestly, you’re really pretty so I couldn’t help myself. I’d remember a face like yours, you new to the area or visiting?”

Well shit, he was more charming than what you thought as he easily squats by you and flashes you an endearing smile that looked a bit rectangular. Not only that, but he completely caught you red-handed and called you out on your ogling, making your cheeks brighten in embarrassment. Despite that though, there wasn’t anything arrogant about the way he just now spoke to you, only truthfully honest and sincere. Would it be such a bad thing to simply talk to him in spite of your previous judgements?

“V-Visting,” you clear your throat at your stutter and try to even out your nerves, “and please don’t misunderstand, I wasn’t staring at you. The ocean is just very…beautiful to look at.”

A dark brow rises at your statement and the simple action has your insides squirming, even more so when his lips slowly quirk to form a knowing smirk. Well crap, maybe you had judged much too harshly because it seemed as if the stranger before you was much more perceptive than what you had given him credit for.

“You sure bout’ that?” his voiced lowered just a bit as his eyes disarmingly caught yours in an intense stare. “Cause from where I was it seemed like you were looking at something other than the ocean’s beauty.”

Your eyes widen comically and while your sunglasses covered your surprise, your mouth opening did not, and if his smirk turning into a grin was anything to go by, he had noticed the effect his words had. “Yeah, w-well, things aren’t always what they seem,” you manage to choke out a bit indignantly.

A weird look crosses his handsome face as his eyes beseech yours, no doubt wanting to take off your shades and see your whole face, but instead his lips form into a small smile. “Yeah, guess they aren’t.”

You fidget under his intense scrutiny and silently finish off your drink, putting the glass bottle away in your cooler behind you as you try to ignore his eyes following you. “So, uh, you’re really good at surfing. I’m assuming you live here?”

“Thanks and you’d assume right. I would visit this little island a lot with family when I was younger and decided to just move here. So now I teach little kids how to surf as a job,” he blinks suddenly as if remembering something before smiling sheepishly, “I’m Taehyung by the way. What’s your name beautiful?”

Your own brow rises at this, both from the mini back story of how he came to live here and the mention of his name, but with his compliment you flush again and finally remove your sunglasses. His skin looked even more radiant without the color distortion from your shades and it made your breath hitch as his eyes almost greedily drink in your unobscured face. Now, your confidence was by no means lacking, even if you weren’t pretty to everyone, you knew your worth; but with someone as attractive as the man beside you, it made your confidence tremble.

“Y/N,” your voice comes out more self-assured than you felt on the inside and you hold onto that feeling, hoping to calm your nerves, “But…teaching kids how to surf is your job?” At his nod, your lips twitch and your head tilts to the side in false innocence. “So…you’re a beach bum then?”

Finally, his own confidence shakes as his mouth pops open at your slight insult and seeing it, it only made your own grin emerge. You were mainly teasing, but the small judgmental part of you prayed he wasn’t actually a beach bum. It’d be such a horrible mood spoiler if he was.

“What? No, no! I’ll have you know that my surfing class has a waiting list, mainly by single mom’s which is weird,” his vehemence slowly fades out into slight confusion in the end as he stays silent for half a second before focusing back on you with a small pout, “but I am not a beach bum. I even live in a really nice apartment on the ocean front!”

A small snort escapes you at your poor attempt to not laugh and his small frown lets you know it’s not appreciated, but it held no heat despite it. So far, you had to admit to your pride that you misjudged the man before you; he was so much more complex and enigmatic than you originally believed. Truly, the first day of your vacation was going better than you had ever hoped for.

“Right,” your tone was sarcastic and teasing.

His pout deepens as he leans in closer to you, catching you off guard as his childlike anger dissipates just as quickly as it came and instead the intensity from before returns. His deep, brown eyes pull you in like tidal wave and you’re powerless against it. “Let me prove it to you then. Come with me to my apartment so I can show you.”

Your teeth quickly catch your bottom lip as his words ignite a simmering fire in your veins, warming you from the inside as your lips twitch into a coy smile. “Okay, show me then.”

His devilish grin is enough to have you in a daze and euphoria to begin bubbling under your skin, the anticipation of your vacation heading in a different direction than what you had imagined nearly crippling you. After all, summer was all about throwing away inhibitions and taking every opportunity that came at you, right?

Terrible Things (Seokjin x Reader)

I’m a horrible human being. That’s all I can really say about this. I got inspiration at 3 am and finished it right now…it is now 6 am. Excuse me while I go to sleep in fetal position.

“Appa, when did you first fall in love?”

 The question caught him off guard as Seokjin turned to look at his only son, still young and wide-eyed with innocence at the tender age of 15. They had been eating breakfast before his question startled the man out of his thoughts; it was a lazy Sunday morning filled with a delicious breakfast he made. Sunday’s were his only true days off and he took advantage of such days to spend time with his son to uphold the Sunday tradition they had of spending the day together. Although, he suddenly lost his appetite at the conversation he had been dreading to have.

 Was it already time to answer such questions? He had hoped he had more time before having to go through this conversation. His son was still young after all.

 Seokjin lets out a soft sigh and lets a small smile grace his lips as he puts down his chopsticks, easing himself forward on his seat. His son eagerly pushes his food away from him to rest his arms on the table, too easily forgetting about the food in front of him, as he gives his father his undivided attention. The older man softly runs a large hand over his sons black tresses, staring into his wide amber eyes to give him the courage to continue.

 “By the time I was your age I’d give anything to fall in love. It was all I could really think about as I kept seeing it in every movie trailer and in couples walking down the street,” he pauses as he swipes his tongue over his lips and smiles softly. “That’s when I met your mother, the girl of my dreams.”

 His son’s eyes widen in curiosity as he folds his arms over the table, placing his chin on them; it wasn’t often he heard about how his parents met. “Was eomma pretty?”

 At this, a true genuine smile graces Seokjin’s lips as his eyes focus on something beyond the table in front of them. “She was the most beautiful woman that I’d ever seen.”

“Can I tell you a wonderful thing, Seokjin-ah?”

 Said boy finally focuses on his surroundings and with a rapid blush reaching his ears, he realizes the one who spoke to him was none other than the reason for him being distracted. His classmate turned in her seat and was now staring at him with a small smile, a certain mischievous glint in her amber eyes.

 “S-Sure, y/n-ah.”

 There was warmth in her eyes as she leaned over to gently touch his shaking hand. “I can’t help, but notice you staring at me.”

 He could of sworn that steam was coming out of his ears at her bold statement as incoherent stuttering fell from his lips; trying his best to deny her accurate observations. It was no surprise to anyone that Jin had a crush on his neighboring classmate, as he often stole glances her way and always became an awkward mess around her. He just didn’t think that she would ever approach him about it and he began steeling himself for her rejection.

 “I know I shouldn’t say this, but,” her voice turns soft as she removes her hand from him, shyly tucking a strand behind her ear. “I can see in your eyes that you like me and I have to admit that I really like you too.”

 Now he was sure that his ears were blowing steam as his eyes widen comically, the stubborn blush on his cheeks spreading to cover his entire face. It only made the young girl giggle into her hand as she stared at him with fondness in her eyes. This just had to be too good to be true right? Had he heard wrong? He wasn’t ugly by no means, still a bit awkward as he grew into his adult body, but there were other upper classmen who he had seen talking to her outside of school more than once. Yet, here she was in all her lovely beauty, confessing that she liked him too.

 “Do you mean that y/n-ah?”

 A soft smile comes to her lips as she nods her head, once more tucking the stubborn strand of hair behind her ear. “I do.”

 It might be clichéd for him to claim that that was when his life truly began, but there was no other way to describe the event. Something so innocent and simple had snowballed into something even bigger that gave him happiness for years to come. But yet…

 “Now son, I’m only telling you this because life can do terrible things,” he breathes out in a soft whisper as he looks over to his son’s puzzled expression. Despite knowing that by the end of this his son would lose that innocence, he continues on; not able to stop himself from telling the story if he tried.

Soon enough, Seokjin had graduated from high school and went off to university with his girlfriend of 4 years right beside him. Despite the countless adults and classmates telling them that they wouldn’t last past their high school romance, they proved them wrong. Continued to do so as they pursued their careers and moved in together at the tender age of 20. Both of them worked full-time and attended classes, only truly spending their nights together; with the occasional lazy Sunday they both had off.

 It soon became tradition for them to spend every Sunday with one another, going out on dates and truly give each other the attention they sorely missed during the week. At times they had too much to drink in their shared apartment and spent the whole day exchanging sloppy kisses, fevered touches and loud moans. While other times they’d drive out into the night and lay on top of the hood of the car, watching the stars and sharing laughter about stories that happened at work or at school.

 It was in those moments that Seokjin continued to fall in love with the young woman beside him, staring at her as she’d tell a story and gesture with her hands. Her amber eyes lighting up under the light of the moon and stars; her voice carrying the happiness he felt as he’d fondly play with her hair. It was in one of those peaceful moments that he had made his second life changing decision – his first had been asking her to move in with him as they graduated high school. And so, when the next Sunday rolled by, Seokjin drove her out to where they held their first date.

 Back then, they were just kids with no money to really spend on anything, so they had commuted to one of their local parks and scrounged up their allowances to buy one ice cream to share. Which is what he had them doing today and he didn’t fail to miss how her smile never once faltered throughout the day. Of course she would remember their first date, he didn’t doubt she wouldn’t, but watching her look at him with such emotion in her eyes only made his courage strengthen. He knew he would never regret his decision.

 And so, on that day he had gotten down on one knee; watching as tears freely spilled from her eyes and soft laughter coming from her lips at the familiar question. “Can I tell you a wonderful thing?”

 “Sure, Seokjin-ah,” she teased a bit breathless as she watches him pull out a small white box with a cute string wrapped in a haphazard bow on top; no doubt his doing.

 “I can’t imagine my life with any other person by my side, and I’d rather lose my life before ever letting what we have fade away. You know that I love you…will you marry me?”

 “Oh, Jin…yes! Yes!”

Too young to notice and too dumb to care; love was a story that couldn’t compare to anything else in his life. He was high on the sensation and he never wanted to come down from that high. The girl of his dreams had accepted his proposal and soon enough, they were running down the aisle with laughter bubbling in their chests as rice was thrown at them.

 Even as the years passed and they had their first child – a beautiful boy with black hair and amber eyes just like the mother – their love never once faded. Their lives had changed as they settled into a bigger house and began planning the rest of their lives together; even speaking of expanding their tiny family. Seokjin had everything he could ever want and dream of.

 “Appa?”

 At his son’s concerned tone, Seokjin realizes that tears began to gather and fall down his cheeks. With a sadness that he always tried his best to hide, he gazes at his son and firmly plants a hand on his head. Trying his best to gather the courage to continue the happy story that much too quickly turned pained. It broke him to see his son – his only child – slowly come to the realization that this story answered so many questions he had growing up.

 Questions revolving around the woman missing from both of their lives.

 “I’m only telling you this because life can do terrible things, but you’ll learn one day,” his breath hitches as more tears begin to stream down his face. “And I’ll hope, and I’ll pray that god shows you differently.”

“Can I tell you a terrible thing?”

 It had happened so quick and so unexpectedly. Jin had known that there was something wrong with his wife after she had come back from the doctor’s this morning. All throughout the evening she had remained quiet and hardly spoke a word at dinner, letting their three-year old son fill the silence with his cooing. Only now did she speak, in the comfortable darkness of their room.

 It had all started a few months ago as they tried for their second child, deeming it an appropriate age gap between the first; but try as they may, it just never happened. It became a concern as Jin visibly saw his love grow paler and thinner, but he had assumed it was the depression at considering the possibility she might have gone infertile. During it all he had shown her support and love, even having her take time off of work and taking extra shifts to have her rest at home.

 He should have known better.

 “It seems that I’m sick and I’ve only got weeks.”

 Her voice was soft and broken, but it felt like he had just been stabbed through his heart. The silence stretched out so thin until the soft sound of sobbing and the sound of clothes rustling broke through it. Seokjin held onto his wife for dear life as his sobs overlapped hers and asked her to tell him it was a lie, desperately wanting it to be a horrible nightmare.

 It just had to be a cruel, sick joke that the doctors wanted them to believe because he refused to believe that life could be so unmerciful as to take his wife away. His happiness and soul.

 Her hands had cupped his face as she whispered brokenly to him, “Please don’t be sad now, I really believe you were the greatest thing that ever happened to me.”

Sobs openly overtook the once quiet kitchen as Jin could no longer hold back his anguish; recalling those painful memories he had shoved away made him realize the wound never healed. Despite nearly 12 years passing since the day the love of his life left him on this world to take care of their only son on his own. His son was too young to remember the beautiful woman who held him in her arms and sung him to sleep for those three years she was with them.

 It was only about time that he wondered about her and would no longer be sated with the repeated answer of “She’s gone. She’s not with us anymore.” He just never realized that it wasn’t because she found another life and love, but because an illness had claimed her life.

 It wasn’t only Seokjin who cried for his lost wife, but his son had moved over to hug his father as he silently cried for the mother he had no idea he’d never get back. It was in this broken moment that the usually composed Kim Seokjin had finally lost the battle with his shattered heart.

 “So don’t fall in love, there’s just too much to lose. If you’re given a choice, then I’m begging you choose to walk away,” his voice held desperation and a fragmented sadness that made his son clutch onto him tighter, in hopes to piece back together his broken father. “Don’t let her get you because I can’t bear to see the same thing happen to you.”

 “Appa…,” was his only pained response as his hold tightens on the weeping man. What was one to say in a situation such as this?

 With one shuddering breath, Seokjin holds onto his son’s shoulders, whether to give the young boy comfort or himself, he wasn’t sure. At this point, only his agony was speaking as he tried his best to make his son understand that as beautiful as love was; it was also something that could shatter your world in a matter of seconds.

 “Now son, I’m only telling you this because life can do terrible things.”

1: Are you named after someone? Yes, after by grandmother from my father’s side.

2: When is the last time you cried? I don’t actually remember, I definitely have cried recently, but the most imprinted in my mind is when I lost my grandfather, two years ago.

3: Do you like your handwriting? Sure, I do but people keep telling me they’re way too small... I love them okay? they’re cute!

4: What is your favorite lunch meat? Chicken, definitely chicken.

5: Do you have kids? thaNK GOD NO

6: If you were another person, would you be friends with you? Maybe. Maybe not. Right now I’m feeling pretty good about myself, but that might change.

7: Do you use sarcasm? Sarcasm is my mother tongue!

20: If you were a crayon, what colour would you be? hmmm... I would say purple cause it can be pretty mysterious at times, but also very calming and soothing at others.

21: Favorite smell? Freshly brewed coffee, gasoline, fireworks being lit, a beach fire and the rain.

22: Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone? My mom. With me being a college student away from my hometown, she gets really overprotective and calls everynight at 10pm sharp! it’s kind of annoying but at least I know she cares.

23: Favorite sport to watch? I’m not that into sports, but if I had to choose... Volleyball, maybe?

24: Hair colour? My natural color is a deep brown. But now they’re black with green ends. (don’t ask about my hair, they’re a mess, they have been from black to multi-colored, to grey, to purple, to green).

25: Eye colour? Olive green (I’m really proud of my eyes shut up Mary no one wants to hear that)

26: Do you wear contacts? I don’t but that’s because I only started using my glasses very recently so I need another check up if I’m going to use contacts.

28: Scary movies or comedy? I wasn’t a fan of scary movies until very recently, but now it seems they are the only thing I watch! sign me up as a horror fan, fam.

31: Summer or winter?  Winter all the way! My favorite thing is to have a blanket thrown upon me, with a cup of coffee nearby and a book in my hands. Besides all my favorite clothes are sweaters.

32: Hugs or kisses? That depends. If it is for a partner then kisses, but if it is for friends then hugs although I’m not really good at hugs, my friends can assure you.

33: What book are you currently reading? I’m currently trying to read the collection of Edgar Allan Poe’s works. But I always get distracted.

34: Who do you miss right now? I guess my childhood friends that live in a different city and I only get to see them on Christmas, easter and summer vacation.

36: What is the last TV program you watched? Well, mostly Korean dramas through my laptop, I kinda have abandoned TV. But the last series I watched was The 100 I have to see the new episodes.

When did you first get into BTS? 2014 :) i was 13 and gods stanning them? best decision of my life

Why or/and how did you get into BTS: there was this girl in my class that i had a huge crush on and she was rlly into bts so i decided to go check them out and i started watching their mvs and ahhhh their lyrics rlly hit me and then i watched their videos the bon voyages the run eps the vlives- i just fell in love with every single member. so i spent my teen years growing up with them in a way and just im so lucky to be able to live and experience them in this lifetime✨

First BTS song: no more dream my emo ass lived for it found their passion (it's the eyeliner) very cool bajajshdhja

Favorite BTS song: asjdjjsg this is hard !! i suppose my all time favs are epiphany (seokjin’s voice transcends my soul and the lyrics?? 😭 i never fail to bawl my eyes out. most of the times i have to skip this song cuz im not emotionally ready to listen to it lmao) and answer: love myself (this song just hits my depression with a stick) and after bangbangcon my current fav is 2!3! (it just feels like a warm hug thats safe and comforting- and even when im surrounded by cruelty and a lack of love, this song never fails to make me feel loved, it helps me feel that i dont walk alone)
