I have a headcanon that when Kenai and his brothers were kids, Denahi would often tease Kenai about his relationship with Nita.

Oh, he totally would!

Sitka would probably get in on it, too. Not in a teasing way, though, more in a "So, how about that Nita girl" kinda way, you know? Which is still enough for Kenai to feel embarrassed.

So I’ve been getting a lot of inspiration from Discord so here’s an AU + rewrite for Brother Bear 2, a Disney sequel that (possible unpopular opinion) I’m not a fan of. So I’ve come up with a rewrite that fits the themes of the first movie more

First off I completely removed the childhood friends story between Nita and Kenai, because in this AU Nita and Atka are bears. Yes, born as bears (I still hate how Brother Bear 2 completely undid Kenai’s meaningful karmic transformation and made it so that characters can just transform if they ask the spirits nicely enough), and are siblings instead of an engaged couple. 

My bear version of Atka somewhat mirrors Kenai’s arc from the first movie where he hates humans for killing their bear friends. Atka’s increasing anger and resentment eventually drove a wedge between his and Nita’s siblinghood, and it only got worse when Atka decided to abandon Nita for a revenge quest to slaughter humans. 

This is where Kenai and Koda come in. With Kenai now acting as sort of a bridge between humans and animals after living as both forms, he goes on a journey to help Nita find Atka and restore her relationship with her brother, and in turn Kenai and Nita grow closer and gain feelings for each other. And meanwhile of course Koda is happy to have an older sister in law

The ending of Brother Bear 2 annoys me because Nita gets to have her whole village at the wedding but Kenai only has bears. Why would Nita's village not inform Kenai's village about it so Denahi could attend!

I just watched Brother Bear for the first time and whew 😰😭

But then I watched Brother Bear 2 and woah!!

Both are completely underrated and I hate that it took me so long to watch these masterpieces. (Also I am a sucker for childhood friends to, separated for a long time, to lovers!!)

I’m not being sarcastic, 1 and 2 are truly both gems!! 💎

My 344th edit and a HUGE thank you to @little-bloodied-angel for their help with casting 2/5 of these characters. I am so happy how this reimagining of 3D characters to 2D came out. A brilliant way to end my almost year long series of the reimaginings, and I am not say no to this type of edit, but I am giving myself the okay (so to speak) to know I have not used one 2D character more than once. @2009jorose Thanks for your part too in inspiring me to this almost year long challenge. If curious of my past reimaginings, I have tagged them all under reimagining tag so can find easier. Happy Valentine's Day and Happy PALentine's Day too! =D Please vote your favorite character too in this edit crossover? And yes I added no wings, as I believe the wings all looked unique like fingerprints? XD I do not remember, only seen the first movie. idk how many of y'all remember/know of brother bear 2, but "it will be me" reminds me of this entire game. I'll explain why

I just imagine that this would be something Clover would say to Ceroba to reassure her, watching a child die and all (plus, add the guilt of what she had done to Kanako and it feels unbearble). I can mentally picture her lying in her bed in her old home at night and thinking of the day of Clover's sacrifice, crying to herself. But then she remembers that Clover wanted this; they wanted her to be happy again and start over, and Ceroba would smile instead

*** If you feel a hand guiding you along When the path seems wrong It will be me

This message would be for Martlet. The lyrics reminded me of this quote of hers:

Even though she willingly left the royal guard and apologized for being scatterbrained, I feel like Marts would still need more time to gain confidence in her own judgement. And whenever she would feel insecure, she would remember to follow her heart (and not superficial benefits like she used to) just like Clover did. It would bring her comfort

*** There is no mountain that I can't climb For you I'd swim through the rivers of time As you go your way and I go mine A light will shine And it will be me

Clover climbing Mt. Ebott, and, post pacifist, finding small ways to reach out to their friends even after their body is gone. As you go your way and I go mine especially hits hard. Basically the others are going to a new life and a bright future (light), while Clover goes towards death (darkness). And the "light" is their soul, "them"

*** If there is a key that goes to your heart A special part It will be me

How special Clover made Star feel (not like a "nobody" but like an actual sheriff), and how he saw them as the child he never had (based on my hc but it feels pretty canon). These lines can also be talking about the impact Clover had on everyone, but I had to include Clover's impact on Starlo, just like I did their impact on every other main character (minus Axis, sorry buddy, not enough stanzas)

*** If you need a friend Call out to the wind To hold you again It will be me

The first line reminded me of Dalv right off the bat. He'd sure as hell miss his first friend, the one who got him out of his comfort zone

*** Past the ever after there's a place for two In your tears of laughter I'll be there for you

Clover's message to everyone to keep being happy, to smile and laugh and stick together even after their passing, because that's where Clover will be

Once monsters finally reach the surface and Clover's wish is fulfilled. Enough said

My biggest criticism of BB2; WHERE THE HELL IS DENAHI?!

On the one hand I agree, but on the other hand I don't. I mean, I definitely wish Denahi was in BB2, but I don't really consider it a criticism, because the reason he's absent is because his voice actor died only months after the first movie came out.

I'd say the best and most respectful way to include Denahi (and Sitka) in BB2 was to put them in the flashback, they're the ones picking up Kenai after his little play date with Nita. Considering Denahi would need a younger voice actor for that scene either way, it wouldn't feel disrespectful to the original voice actor.
