Hello! I may have bored you in three days, but I have a question.
In the comic, it could be that Joey was secretly in love with Sammy, but didn't dare say so. And by creating the Ink World, did he make Lawrence fall in love with it?
It's just that in the Russian translation of the comic there is a moment when Sammy leaves the room, and it says "Gay panic".
But in both worlds, Drew has a relationship with Susan.
Just re-reading Sammy's conversation with Susan, I didn't understand... He is upset that Drew didn't break off his relationship with her.
Tumblr media
Oh, actually story! Joey and Sammy are in a relationship, they hold hands in some panels and such, there isn't too much about it and it's a very unhealthy one but it's there :)
In the real world Joey and Sammy never got together but there were some sort of strong, complicated feelings between them
And yes Joey has been dating Susie in both worlds (which was also an unhealthy relationship haha just how it is with him)
Yes, Sammy is upset that Susie and Joey are technically still together while Joey without a problem has been doing "couple stuff" with him as well, he wasn't exactly aware of that
He knew that Susie and Joey dated but as Susie became Alice their relations looked so complicated and hateful that he didn't think they'd still be together. So he was sad to learn that he was hurting Susie this way unknowingly
And Susie had satisfaction in making him upset about that
Joey just takes :)

#30daysmusicchallenge2024 for Daughters of Darkness!
Day 7: A song that needs to be played LOUD:
Evanescence - Made of Stone
Made of Stone is one of the oldest songs written for Evanescence's third album. Amy said in an interview that it was written two years ago, meaning 2009 (part of her Broken Record).
Amy about MOS:
"I had that one from the first time we went into the studio for a minute, a year ago. It was part of that batch of songs that was really in a different direction before. And then bringing the band into it and making it more of this full rock song. Wow, it really jumped it up to a new level, sort of like the way I've always wanted it to be.
The song is strong, it's about strength. It's not completely literal 'cause obviously you can't numb yourself until you're made of stone. It's kind of saying, "I'll take it beyond this, I'm gonna have to make myself harder."
The piano solo featured during the middle eight is the same song Amy played in the "Meanwhile, in the studio..." video she posted on her Twitter account on May 11, 2011.

Broken record?
***I still regularly think about until the end of everything 😭, btw***
oh thats so lovely 😭 thank you for telling me, to have something live in your head is the dream <3
broken record is my love. my child. the issue is that it exists mostly in my head :( i think about it so often and have done for around.... 18 months. this is so bad. i have so many notes and so little actually written
the basic premise is that i am taking les amis, picking them up and deposting them in 1990s london and i KNOW that immediately this sounds blasphemous, but i PROMISE i have my reasons. those reasons being: i want them to be involved in the britpop scene SO BADLY. if you aren't familiar -- britpop is the 'genre' (lots of people get very angry about this terminology but don't fear the fic will cover that) which blur, oasis, pulp and suede (the britpop 'big four') were a part of in the 90s, among others.
so the fic (in my head and in my notes) is in three instalments: at the moment those are 1992, 1995 and 1997 but the years are probably subject to a bit of change once i actually get around to writing it. its about music and the city and relationships and fame and i am constantly making notes about it. i guess its less of an active wip and more of a constant mental tab i'm running, but ONE DAY! ☝️ one day i will do it. then you will all see!

well, you know exactly what I’ll be reading this weekend now :)
UK DCMS special committee decides has advised that by law, all concert tickets have a levy that goes straight to growing grassroots music. Small local venues, up and coming artists, DIY promoters and gigs will receive this support. It could make a huge difference, having a safety net under the grassroots music scene.
The idea of levies isn’t new, it’s been discussed before and was in the news lately for having had a variety of responses: on the one hand, Coldplay were voluntarily taking a £1 levy on every ticket they sold in the UK to give back to emerging music, on the other hand the owner of the Co-Op Live, a large arena in Manchester, called grassroots venues ‘poorly run’ and cited that as a reason not to want to fund them, saying their venue didn’t ‘need’ the artists the grassroots were promoting. In 10 years’ time, all your retiree greatest hits bands will slow down, Gary. Who are you going to book then? No UK artist under the age of 30 has played the Co-Op to date.
So you can see why a legally mandated levy becomes a good idea. If the owner of places that sell 23,500 tickets a night can’t agree to a £1 levy, it’s for the best that it be mandated.
Of course, this is still a DCMS finding, and the government needs to make it law, but we’re past September 2024. It has now passed the voluntary trial period. It’s a case, as the Music Venue Trust said earlier, of when and how, not of if.
I’ll be reading the report properly over the weekend. Looking forward to this.

INT: I woke up yesterday singing The Narcissist. Do you have any kind of formula or tricks for making something go down easily? Damon: Well how's that song on My Fair Lady? "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down" INT: The sugar come with the melody? Damon: I don't know. It's certainly not on the lyrics, the lyrics are rarely uplifting. Spike Milligan was a brilliant comedian writer and on his grave stone he had inscribed 'I told you I wasn't feeling well' (laughs) It's the joy and sadness of life. That final victory that makes people laugh. And that's kind of the essence of melancholy: the realization that you are dying your best life. INT: What's the significance of the title of the album? Damon: Darren is a friend of everyone in the band. He represents all of us. Darren is everyman. INT: Well… did he go through something significantly recently? Damon: Well we all go through significant things. Obviously as I wrote the songs I guess I went through some significant things as well. I am a certified sad-55-years-old. I'm not afraid of sadness you know. INT: Is there an overall emotional framework to the album? Damon: I think once they catch you certain songs will play with your emotions quite heavely. Songs like The Everglades will snap people on the face at one point. INT: Do you have any kind of trepidation about writing vulnerable lyrics or exposing yourself? Damon: I suppose that in many ways this (record) is my vulnerable. Vulnerability… by singing about it you're somehow easing it. The vulnerability is diminished by your ability to express it. INT: Writing songs… does it help you to understand your emotions or talk about it? Damon: Yes but I don't like to make it all about myself. I use where I am in my life and how I feel to talk about other things sometimes.
